I saw people on twitter asking what’s up with all the radfems supporting Russel Brand over there and the answer is that Brand believes porn addiction is real and is linked with religious front orgs focused on popularizing the pseudoscientific idea of porn use being the same thing as drug addiction. It’s common for abusers like Brand (or Weinstein) to popularize pseudoscience about “porn addiction” and “sex addiction” because they don’t want to accept blame for their abuse and instead shift it off to things already seen as immoral vices.
Also mandatory linking of articles about research into “porn addiction” bc being the most successful rightwing pseudoscientific propaganda push means a lot of people just don’t question it being a thing and when you just mention it’s not real you get a flood of people going “urrm akshully anything can be an addiction”

Gay wrongs tournament, quarterfinals of the major bracket
Propaganda:
For House and Wilson:
Literally the most insane couple of all time from medical malpractice the show. They’re best friends, they live together, they’ve drugged eachother, they make stupid bets together, they manipulate each other, they ride off into the sunset together. They’re Sherlock and Watson, they’re the best doctors in their fields and you’d never want them anywhere near your medical care.
Medical malpractice <3
For Will and Hannibal:
Ive previously only heard the term "murder husbands" refer to hannigram so it feels flitting. The whole series culminated with a murder they did together bathing in blood.
The show and ship that coined murder husbands. It’s in the text in s3 from a journalist side character. They do Many murders either together or as a message to each other. Usually this involves turning the dead body into an art piece. The show ends with them killing a guy together in a slo mo scene backed by porno music.
They're both batshit and manipulative.
ALRIGHT so they're not canonically together but it is HEAVILY implied and they have some sort of fucked up psychosexual obsession with each other. in the later parts of the show they start committing murder and cannibalism together and they're soooo unhinged but it's awesome
kill people for each other. maim each other. kill people together. most batshit insane metaphors. send each other to jail. ruin everyone’s lives. someone can probably say this better than me but these gay people are insane
Literally THE murder husbands. They kill for each other. They've tried to kill each other. They're canon in all but name, like the homoeroticism between these two is the driving force of the show.
one time hannibal folded a guy into an origami human heart
They are in love and they kill and eat people. They are called Murder Husbands in canon.
The original murder husbands (literally, that's not just their ship name, they get called that in canon)
The show begins with Will working for the FBI and trying to catch Hannibal, but because Hannibal is so intrigued by the way Will is able to see the world and the motives behind the killings so easily, it becomes a game of Hannibal isolating Will even more from the people around and seducing him to try and kill. By the time Will starts embracing the side of him that Hannibal sees, he starts oulling back and trying to distance himself so that when the time comes for Will to fully embrace himself and Hannibal, no one really suspects what they have planned.
hannibal literally does murder as courtship and it works bc will is also a fucked up little guy
I'm actually quite offended they aren't included by default (joke). They are THE murder husbands!!!!!! (mod note: they should have been, but I wanted to see how many submissions they'd get. They got 19, making them a little more than 6% of total submission count).
do i have to say it. they literally get called murder husbands IN THE SHOW
There are 3201 works for Hannibal on ao3 tagged Murder Husbands. They are the ogs, they are the pioneers we owe it all to them.
THEE murder couple. You know it. I know it. They commit crimes at each other as courting and then commit crimes together and then fall off a cliff to wash up somewhere and live on to serve cunt. Get referred to as 'murder husbands' in canon. What more do you need
Hannigram were literally called Murder Husbands in canon, they are the og, they are THE blueprint. They were gay as hell and comitted so much murder so many crimes. THEY RAN OFF TO EUROPE TOGETHER.

Awful Characters Round 3 (8/8)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut!
MAKIMA
The number of times I've seen people call others 'groomer apologists' or questioning if they actually like Makima for 'proper reasons' and aren't just sexualizing her are astronomical. She's truly a diabolical and fascinating antagonist. And yeah she's hot too. Who gives a shit if I like her character And her unsettling cryptic mommy energy? I have eyes. I have needs. I have love for Makima and I am not ashamed to say it.
ZHOU ZISHU
He's got that "villain of another story" swag, he's dating a fellow villain, and their clown shenanigans and body count have captivated me. That said, he's done some shit, though which of his crimes are The Worst is something me and the ppl-who'd-call-you-bad-person-for-liking-him disagree on. I personally think that creating an above-the-law organization that does assassination and spying for the government is objectively the worst, like if this was real world this would impact generations of people, and this setup just asks for abuse of power - basically, this is 100 times worse than any harm he's ever done to individual people. But thankfully he's fictional and thats why I can be like 'secret police assassin man hot' without a problem. (cw rape, sexual slavery, drugging for the next paragraph) The twitter-brained population however likes to forgo this in favor of focusing on that one time he kidnapped a teenager, drugged him, and sold him into sexual slavery - all to implicate a political opponent (who was the one buying teenage sex slaves, tbc). Which I mean for sure is bad but like, this harmed several individuals, not created an instrument of oppression that would harm countless people for years to come. And if you are rolling with the second thing because hes fictional, why do you draw the line on the other, objectively less impactful atrocity?.. He also has other crimes like war crimes (organized public execution of foreign diplomats during war time), and that time he murdered a 4yo kid he previously not only knew but like looked after and played with, along with her whole family, which got slightly less oomph compared to previous two but I'm adding them for completion's sake. As for ppl calling u bad person for liking the character: so this novel has gotten a live-action series adaptation a couple years ago, which heavily edited the worst of Zhou Zishu's crimes (and also replaced his whole personality, and made him be somehow both less of an asshole AND more awful to his bf). And then some people went to read the novel(s) and found out about The Crimes and u can imagine how it went. Someone tried to make a whole hashtag #NotMyAXu (A-Xu is his nickname) about how they rejected the novel version! So yeah this is one of the reasons for a schism between novel fans and show fans in this fandom. They cant handle our awful fictional bastard.

Round 1, Match 28
Sam and Dean Winchester (Supernatural) vs John Wilkes and Edwin Booth (US history)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under break. Spoilers for Supernatural
Sam and Dean Winchester
Unlicensed and unregistered guns/vigilante justice
---------
they try to kill each other SO many times. well maybe not that often but more often that is emotionally healthy for both of them. dean tries to kill sam (4.14, 8.06, 10.03, 10.23) and sam tries to kill dean (4.14).
in s10 dean has this really shitty curse that basically makes him really violent and want to kill people. however he also wants to just try to deal with it instead of trying to remove the curse because they know removing the curse would cause something really bad to happen. they don't know WHAT the bad thing is but they do know it would be devastating. anyways sam goes behind dean's back and gathers a bunch of other people to try and remove this curse even though dean doesn't want him to AND even though he knows it would cause terrible consequences. eventually sam does get the curse removed and surprise! the bad thing that happens is THE FUCKING APOCALYPSE. basically.
in s9 dean lets an angel possess sam - something he knows sam would never consent to under normal circumstances - in order to save his life and then, when sam finds out and gets mad about it, dean basically refuses to apologize. and then he just never gets around to apologizing about it or even showing regret about doing it.
in s4 sam lies to dean continuously and works with a demon behind dean's back, and he's also doing the supernatural equivalent of drugs that give him powers. when dean finds out about this he locks sam up in a panic room to suffer through his (very painful) withdrawal completely alone. also sam is having hallucinations of dean calling him a monster. and when another character says that he thinks they should let sam out because sam is at risk of dying, dean says "at least he dies human." later sam gets out of the panic room, dean catches up to him, and they have this huge fight where sam just beats dean up.
honorable mention: in between s7-s8 dean dies and goes to purgatory. the concept of purgatory is previously mostly unexplored on supernatural so sam doesn't really know that dean is in purgatory in the first place but also he just straight up does not bother looking for dean at all and just goes back to living a normal suburban life for a couple months. and then when dean gets back he is SO upset about this and resents sam for it for basically the whole season. (this is also one of the reasons he tries to kill sam.)
also they continually try to save each other, at the expense of themselves + each other + everyone around them. they also treat cas (cas!! my best girl cas!!) really shittily on multiple occasions just because he's in the way of their goals.
ALSO. very important. sam & dean are, respectively, the vessels of lucifer & michael (like the archangels) and essentially they are destined to each get possessed by lucifer/michael and kill each other in the apocalypse (the 1st apocalypse, not the 2nd).
all this propaganda might be a little bit biased in favor of sam because i'm a samgirl but you get the point. they think they're so normal but they are SO fucked up. they hurt themselves AND each other in the pursuit of trying to do what they each think is best and they never ever learn from it. i don't even ship wincest i just think they are so interestingly fucked up AND that's not even going into all the stuff about their childhoods / pre-canon
John Wilkes and Edwin Booth
They were actors which is fine. Except. Edwin was better and John was bitter. And the John assassinated the President while delivering a line well associated with Edwin's Brutus. Edwin (already on the outs with John) disowned his brother after that.
Poll Runner's Note: Also their brother Junius Brutus Booth Jr was arrested because of John Wilkes Booth shooting the president. And the three of them had just done Julius Caesar in 1864 (John Wilkes was Mark Antony and Junius was Crassus), the year before the assassination.
One of Junius' other famous roles was as King John, also in this tournament!

... PIM X STONER!READER (/nf if youre uncomfy with weed!!)
I love weed! Sometimes I get too high though and convince myself that I’m in a simulation, it’s really scary. I’m not too knowledgeable on the marijuana but ik enough :33c
Pim x stoner reader
LISTEN, LISTEN, Pim would 100% be one of those DARE kids(idk if they have an Aussie equivalent) he’d say shit like “I don’t need drugs, I’m high on life!”
But when he found out you smoked he was, conflicted. Cause you’re such a responsible and well mannered person at work, and you do THE WEED??? HUAH??
Asks you a lot of questions about it and when you started doing it, if you say anything younger than 21 his mind is blown.
When you tell him about the different strains of weed hes fascinated, there’s different kinds? And they do different things? Wait there’s a different between purple haze and purple kush?
If you offer to let him try some he’ll freak out, SMOKINGS BAD FOR YOU, IT GIVES YOU LUNG CANCER!!! Also very worried for your health too
After a lot of explaining he calms down and actually learns a lot, still probably will never try it. He doesn’t bother you about it any more though
When he actually sees you high, it’s like all the dare propaganda melts out of his ears and he realizes oh, it’s not actually a gateway drug to do heroin. We love progress!
Doesn’t like the smell so prefers you to do it either outside, use a pen, or edibles. He just cannot understand your love for the skunky smell.
Enjoys how cuddly and loving you get, if you get emotional he gets emotional. Also enjoys making you laugh, thinks it’s super cute how giggly you get.
If you like to go on walks while high he’s all for it!! You two go out and have a little adventure, he does get a little bit more protective of you since you’re ‘under the influence’

On The Amnestic Issue
The issue of strong amnestic drugs is not a highly publicized one. It is not a polarizing topic of debate like immigration, reproductive rights, or the human pet industry. Most people do not even have a strong opinion on amnestics. They are not front and center in the public view. The pharmaceutical industry and its supporters have done an excellent job of suppressing debate.
This is not an issue to take up lightly as a bit of collegiate activism to soothe the soul. Even to write about the topic is to invite lawsuit, defamation, and harassment. You probably haven’t heard much about anti-amnestic activists, not because we don’t exist but because that is how effectively we are silenced. I have friends who have been jailed for speaking out, and many more who have been publicly targeted, harassed, accused, and made into laughing stocks.
This is not an issue to take up unless you truly feel passionately about it.
But I am passionate, and I think you should be too. I think we all should be.
Detractors will attempt to paint anti-amnestic discourse as radical left wing pet-lib propaganda. They will attempt to paint us as far right anti-vaxxer paranoids lashing out against the medical industry. But the amnestic issue ought to concern you regardless of your political alignment.#
Whatever your stance on the human pet industry, whatever your stance on pharmacological reform, the amnestic issue goes far further than either of those. This is not about criminals or contractees, although they form part of the picture. This is primarily about the effects of strong amnestic drugs in the general population, the failure of our government and regulators to protect us from unregulated use, and the complete lack of unbiased, verifiable information about amnestic safety even in a medical context.
Use of prescription amnestics has more than doubled in just the last three years, despite the complete lack of any independent studies demonstrating benefits in the vast majority of use cases. Un-monitored, un-reported “home use” is estimated at anywhere between half as many people again, and three times as many, and in many cases these unprescribed drugs are being used to “medicate” entirely non-medical issues such as domestic quarrels.
Crime involving the forced administration of strong amnestics to unconsenting victims is estimated to have increased twenty-fold since these substances were first approved for prescription. The volume of illegal amnestics circulating in the black market is completely unknown, and the lack of separation between the markets for aggressive criminal use and for unregulated “self-medication” is bringing naive would-be patients into contact with hardened drug dealers and organized crime.
In the context of our progressively failing criminal justice system, some victims are even administering the “cover up pills” to themselves rather than face the traumatic experience of trying to push a report through to court. In a recent survey, 20% of university students said that if they were victims of “date rape” they would rather take a pill and forget, than take the issue to the police. Cited reasons included shame, fear of stigmatization, fear that the police would do nothing, and, conversely, fear that the police would respond with excessive force.
Perhaps most troubling of all, the second most popular reason given was simply that taking an amnestic would be “less effort”. The same attitude is reflected in a growing media trend towards portraying drug-induced forgetting as the “easy option” : a quick, effortless, and effective solution to any and all of life’s problems.
Needless to say there is no evidence to support the idea that amnestic abuse actually improves happiness, health, or any other measure of wellbeing. And it should be beyond obvious that choosing to forget certain problems such as unpaid bills, unsettled debts, or an angry spouse will not actually cause these problems to go away.
Even industry giants such as Santex Pharma and WRU have recently put out statements advising against unregulated, unsupervised home use. These statements describe the medical applications and the use in the pet industry (respectively) as highly controlled, carefully monitored use cases and not comparable to the growing trend of unlicensed use. Santex state, both in their recent statement and elsewhere, that every approved use of their strong amnestics has been rigorously safety tested and found both safe and effective. They cite a number of published studies, in addition to an undisclosed quantity of private, internal investigation.
Every single published study involving strong amnestics was either conducted or funded by a manufacturer of strong amnestics, a business that uses strong amnestics as a core part of their business model (i.e. the human pet industry), or a subsidiary of one of these businesses.
There are no published independent studies. All attempts at independent studies have been heavily suppressed by the above industries, or else taken over by these business interests long before completion. It has long been well known – if rarely successfully prosecuted – that pharmaceutical companies regularly misuse statistics, massage data, and even outright fabricate results to produce conclusions that are favorable to their bottom line.
Even those few independent investigators who have resisted the pressure exerted by the industry have found that no reputable publication – scientific or otherwise – will take on the risk of publishing their results if they fail to corroborate the claims of safety. When such studies are made publically available on the internet they are invariably taken down within weeks or even days, and the authors – if remotely identifiable – can expect a slew of life-ruining lawsuits. In many cases even criminal charges have been leveled against such investigators.
Consequently it is extremely difficult to form an accurate picture of the extent and form of the risks posed by the use of strong amnestics. However, certain themes come up over and over in these vanished studies. The use of strong amnestics, especially but not exclusively long term or at high doses, has been associated with any or all of the following:
cognitive decline or impairment
anterograde amnesia (loss of the ability to reliably form new long term memories)
anxiety and depression
emotional instability and dysregulation
intrusive thoughts
increased rates of suicide
increased mortality (all causes)
false recall (remembering fictive events as if they were real, or events that happened to other people as if they happened to oneself)
nightmares, night terrors, insomnia and other sleep disturbances
migraines, cluster headaches, and other forms of headache
increased impulsivity
increases vulnerability to addiction
impaired executive function (difficulty making and adhering to plans, reduced decision-making ability)
While none of the above symptoms have been conclusively linked to amnestics on account of the industry stranglehold on data, it is worth noting that the incidence of all of the above problems in the general population has increased sharply over the last few years, with no other obvious explanation for the increase.
Some of the most striking evidence has come from the study of parents who made the choice to forget a child when that child entered into the human pet industry. The fact that WRU discontinued this as an official service after only a year and a half speaks volumes. But small numbers of parents (and an unknown number of other friends and relatives of new human pets) continue to seek out this option either under the supervision of a medical professional or independently “at home” with illicitly procured amnestics.
While the desire to forget is perhaps an understandable response to the loss of a child or loved one, the outcomes of such a choice are rarely happy. Suicide rates in this group are extremely high, as are rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses.
Testimonials can be found on parenting boards across the web urging other parents not to make the same decision. They describe intense feelings of guilt, crushing anxiety, dread and/or a sense of “impending doom”, and a constant, gnawing awareness of the period of “lost time”. Feelings of hopelessness, futility and lack of purpose or fulfillment are extremely common.
One mother described the feeling as not only having lost her now-unremembered child, but also having lost herself.
The wider societal impact of amnestic abuse is also making itself felt as the prevalence rises year on year. Courts have already agreed that forgetting a crime or other offense does not absolve the perpetrator of any guilt or responsibility, but how exactly to handle such cases is far from settled.
Detractors of pharmacological reform are quick to point out the double standard here. Amnesia can be enforced by the state in the name of correcting entrenched behavioral patterns and preventing reoffense, but those who have already self-administered this treatment are still considered just as guilty and just as likely to reoffend as if they had not forgotten.
Neither is it clear how to help or compensate victims of amnestic-related crimes. The use of amnestics to cover up crimes – most commonly date rape – is nothing new. Even prior to the invention of the modern drug class, weak amnestics such as alcohol and benzodiazepines have long been used for this purpose. However, the rise of the strong amnestic has both expanded the criminal’s toolkit for cover-ups and opened entire new spheres of crime.
Every month it seems that allegations of a new kind of crime hit the courts, from corporate espionage cases in which corporate agents are accused of using amnestics to wipe ideas, trade secrets, or experience in the field from their competitors, to domestic abuse allegations involving the long term use of amnestics to keep the victim ignorant of their own abuse. While some of these cases are clearly less plausible than others, there can be no doubt that criminal elements are hard at work finding new ways to abuse these substances.
If you follow the mainstream news cycle, you are also doubtless already aware of the rise of “perpetual amnesiacs” – a small but highly visible minority of amnestic “addicts” who take the drugs repeatedly in high doses to forget practically everything.
(While strong amnestics are not physiologically addictive drugs like heroin or cocaine, phenomena such as gambling addiction and pornography addiction have long taught us that people can become addicted to all manner of things that are not physiologically addictive drugs.)
These “perpetual amnesiacs” usually have substantial problems before the amnestic abuse. They may be homeless, in debt, stuck in abusive relationships, or addicted to other substances. They begin taking the amnestics to forget their very real troubles. What separates the addict from other “home users” is the very high doses involved, and the taking of additional doses as soon as further difficulties arise.
These afflicted individuals become increasingly disengaged from life, drifting from one short term pleasure (often other substances of abuse) to another, and taking additional amnestics whenever consequences threaten to disrupt their existence in the moment.
Most become homeless if they were not already, and over time almost all develop severe symptoms from the list above. Reporting has focused particularly on impulsivity, cognitive decline, and anterograde amnesia. We hear of the violent deaths of addicts killed attempting the wildly ill-conceived crimes that their impulsivity leads them into.
Eventually the “perpetual amnesiac” needs no further doses of the amnestics, because their ability to form new memories has been completely destroyed.
Despite industry insistence that these sobering results are only a result of the extremely high doses taken by the addicts, the recent news coverage has awoken public fears regarding the safety of strong amnestics.
However, reporting of these concerns has been notably muted and seems to have almost ceased as I write these words. All major news agencies seem to now prefer to parrot the company line that it is the quantity and the frequency that is the problem, not the drugs themselves. One can only imagine that money or favors have changed hands to facilitate this shift in focus.
One can only hope that the public will remember nonetheless, and that the plight of these most severely affected “perpetual amnesiacs” will prompt at least a few to look into the effect that amnestic drugs are having on us as individuals and as a society, and that we might start to look beyond the horizon of the company line.

something I wanna explore more in my own works regarding LaserFrog is the two’s first impression of each other vs them getting whiplashed by who the other really is
Bullfrog is a character we don’t have much information on as of making this post , but his loyalty to the creed is no secret, and I’m willing to bet that the pressure of being the last assassin and the trauma of losing so many people in his life (even before Ghosts) has made it difficult for Bullfrog to have committed relationships with others (I’m betting that he doesn’t stay with people longer than 3 months if that, platonically and romantically) and I’m surprised that it’s not a more common fic element to explore Bullfrog struggling between his destiny to continue the assassin creed legacy and his desire to find meaningful relationships, if not having outright commitment issues. He probably hasn’t taken on apprentices due to said fear of relationship commitment , despite that being a sure fire way to keep the brotherhood alive after him. (Possibly because he feels guilty of the concept of giving that burden to others) He seems like a genuinely friendly , open and upbeat frog, so learning he hasn’t got the best track record with relationships would be an off putting thing for Dolph to learn, since Dolph “this frog is the only reason I choose to stay alive” Laserhawk prob (unintentionally) decided that Bullfrog is the light of his life, so definitely a weird situation he found himself in
and Dolph, oh boy Dolph
I know I made posts about him already but it still shocking that there's not much exploration of his past and relationship with Alex compared to Ramon and Rayfrog. Dude did drugs before hitting double digits and both his parents work in risky fields, even if you wanna say it was Eden propaganda there's still something to be said there, especially his daddy issues. While I usually make jokes about it more than anything else, I do think there's an interesting exploration to be had of Dolph's outer persona of distant angry bad boy Vs the clingy emotional wreck that he is behind that persona, both in regards in general and what it says about his relationship with Alex. Dolph's plan before the series was running away and basically settling down with Alex, that is one hell of a commitment to make even ignoring the canon that Dolph had several toxic relationships before being with Alex. Bullfrog struggles to read Dolph sometimes and seems to be socially awkward autistic frog confirmed? (based on the car anyways)and while I think Bullfrog would have no issues sticking up for himself against Dolph or argue back, I do think that they'd be uncomfortable tension between them due to Jade's death that keeps Bullfrog on edge (at least at the beginning of them trying to get to know each other) so learning Dolph wanted to stay alive because of Bullfrog, well, being the reason someone didn't kill himself would be an incredible amount of stress to be under
Basically love is terrifying because it's scary to be trusted with someone's vulnerability and letting yourself be vulnerable with someone else

U.N.C.L.E. statistics graphs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 2 of 3
[part 1] * [part 3]
All Man from U.N.C.L.E. data was compiled by @commander-kiranerys :
Series 1 * Series 2 * Series 3 * Series 4
Girl from U.N.C.L.E. data was compiled by myself and my sister:
* GFU *
Original graphs created by commander-kiranerys:
* :1: * :2: * :3: * :4: *
(more info and analysis under the cut)
Disclaimer:
As you can see from the data attributes, the mfu and gfu stats have been compiled by two different people. As such, results should be taken with a grain of salt as our views on what exactly constitutes 'torture' or a 'failed escape' may vary.
A word on graphs:
I felt that having compiling the separate info in one place in the form of bar charts was ideal for visual comparisons of the data, rather than jumping between posts. However, I cannot recommend enough commander-kiranerys's original graphs enough due to them being in the form of line graphs, thus giving a good view of change over time for the individual results of her statistics. This was not possible here due to gfu being part of a separate show.
Analysis:
Tied up: so if you're into bondage then MFU Season 3 is for you. Specifically Illya... (I see you Season 3 writers, I see you). As you can see from these graphs and the next two, the GFU villains weren't really very kinky. A shame tbh (who said that?).
Chained or handcuffed: I had combined these two separate categories into just the one in my data set and so I added together commander-kiranerys' results to create some compatible data. The MFU stats here remain very consistent before that good ol' Season 4 drop, they didn't get that same significant increase that being tied up saw.
Tortured: sad to see that Napoleon and Illya have never been tortured together. As the old saying goes, partners who get tortured together, stay together. Very tragic.
Drugged: a lot of the cynics out there will say that it's no surprise at all that GFU was on the most drugs of the series. But to that I say, just look at that MFU Season 3 stat! The least by a long shot!
Knocked out: the most impressive thing here is that if you removed all of April's stats, GFU would still be leading on getting knocked out. I'm more than a little worried about Mark; has anyone checked him for post-concussion syndrome?
Shot: my findings? Bullet wound Mark is an outlier and should not be counted. He is one gunshot away in his single series from equalling Illya in the entire run of MFU. The consistency of those MFU results is very satisfying to me, and then Mark has to ruin it! Someone get this man a touriquet or smth idc. Also April is bullet proof, aparently.
Wet: although I was too British and prude to tally-up instances of partial nudity (idk why I found that too embarrassing ok), I am not imune to fanservice and was more than happy to count instances of getting wet. Now, if you like your agents soaking wet, then aparently GFU is the show for you (yes this is a propaganda post). Though on average it ties with MFU Season 4; in terms of raw numbers it cannot be beat. Interestingly though, Season 1 Napoleon is tied with Mark for soggiest individual character.
I will freely admit that the analysis here is strongly skewed towards comparing the GFU results with the MFU results. Mainly due to commander-kiranerys having already created a set of graphs and gone over the MFU data there. I didn't want these posts to replace those in any way and instead to add to them. Please check out those posts (linked above) for a more MFU-oriented approach!
I hope you found this data useful or at least interesting! I would love to have discussions about these!

I have trouble seeing (non bdsm) sex between 2 women being as evil as sex between man/woman because it's always framed as loving the other woman so much that you want to please her and make her feel good instead of whatever depraved stuff men think about and do to them. Heterosexual relationships don't interest me that's why i don't pay attention to what they say but I have been seeing this point of view for years from lesbians that's why it's difficult to drop this mentality.
When you say “seeing” are you referring to pornography or a concept in your mind?
The thing with propaganda is that nobody will tell you the negative aspects of what they promote, just the potentially "good" parts. You need to consider that people's barometer for happiness is in hell and sex is an escape for them, and they're finding somebody to escape reality with. Sounds romantic and all, but what happens after they escape? Abuse, codependency, and control.
People who tell you anything is 100% beneficial to you but doesn't require self-control and sacrifice are lying.
There's always an exchange for anything you do: instant gratification always leads to subsequent permanent depression and repression, but discipline leads to subsequent permanent happiness and liberation. Liberation is a personal choice.
I know fornicators are depressed because they claim to be in loving relationships, having amazing sex, but are using drugs and drowning themselves in video games. They have multiple social media platforms dedicated to arguing with others as well and talk about total emptiness. These are traits of repressed, unhappy and hateful individuals. Don't listen to people who have skeletons in their closet. The goal of life is to attain perfect happiness, not sex.
Don't listen to me either, but just know I will never lie to you and I see the big picture. What I'm telling you is only a total benefit to you personally and not me at all. I already have everything.
I don't need escapism because I've removed everything I need to escape from in my life, regardless of its material cost. I don't look for anything to satisfy me when I've already found a permanent orgasm or permanent love by engaging in the right thinking and right behaviors. Now I'm working on becoming.
So the question is, what do you want? To be miserable 99.99% of the time just to obtain the emotional spike of an orgasm, or never want an orgasm again but permanently happy?
You have free will.
It's really just up to the kind of life you want to live. All I'm saying is, don't complain about the lows then brag about the highs like everybody else does.
When it comes to their relationships, you're likely seeing the honeymoon phase. Once that's over, you won't see the emotional dysregulation and the constant compromise that has to be made, so the other person continuously sees you as sexually attractive. And if you're naturally attractive, the other person will only be interested in you as a trophy and dismiss or put down anything you share. They will especially be disgusted by your kindness to them. Impure people hate sincerity and genuineness, even though they claim to want authenticity.
You won't see that their bodies are rapidly decaying due to their self-abuse. You won't see their dismissal of sexually transmitted infections, parasite infections, sore throats, oral disease, breathing issues, spine deterioration, digestion problems, sight decline, neurological issues and mental decay, frenzied emotions.
It's easy to take your health for granted when you're well, but see how quickly you lose your youth, beauty, and energy when you start having sex.
The descent into poor health is a “here and there” thing.
You'll wonder why you have deep forehead wrinkles, and when you're only 20. You'll start wondering why your skin is becoming pale, grey and lifeless, then you become a skin care and makeup addict. Then you start wondering why your hair stopped growing. You start with extension pieces, then move onto full-frontal wigs. You'll wonder why your nails don't grow either, so you get acrylics. You wonder why your teeth start turning yellow, gums constantly bleed and wonder why they're shifting, so you get them pulled out and replace them with veneers. You cannot get yourself to smell like your flesh isn't decaying, so you have a pH balancing vagina routine that consists of 15 products. You'll wonder why you're always anxious and that you probably have adult ADHD, so you get on pills for that. You begin to wonder why you're gaining weight rapidly, so you get on ozempic.
You'd never link it with the sex that you were told to idolize because the point of sex is to become a slave to consumerism. All of this effort to appear clean and healthy, when you could actually just be effortlessly clean and healthy.
Sex only feels good to people who are, empty inside, and they all feel post-coital tristesse. You also won't see the drudgery of the day to day and their unresolved trauma. You won't see their internet addiction because of the validation they get for showing 1% of their lives.
Beneath their false affirmations of lesbians being good people just because they have sex with women, most of them are prideful, judgmental, lying bullies similar to the heterosexuals they worship. The only time they feel anything is when they're having sex, and once those few minutes are over, it's back to emotional terrorism, physical abuse or suicidality.
Lesbians frame sex as loving because they need to feel better about themselves. It's a show. They do this primarily because heterosexuals have said that they can't have true love like they can when almost nobody is capable of love.
Women are huge on fantasy, look at anything they produce. Women who don't go along with their vanity are deemed crazy. The only reason why heterosexuals are being exposed right now is because they have the numbers on social media. The same thing happens with homosexuals, except they're lesser and there aren't any children involved, so nobody really cares.
Although lesbians are probably going to be mad about this, I'm emphasizing that everybody who has sex is the same. There's really no purpose is parsing between male, female, lesbian, non-lesbian, but people are convinced that something harmful can be made right if people with the right genitals or skin color does it. Everybody is getting the same cancerous result regardless.
BDSM wouldn't be better just because it's between females, either.
Experience it for yourself instead of thinking about it. Direct experience is the best teacher, so get your heart dropkicked by somebody who loves sex more than you. You'll see that being misunderstood, dismissed and used up property gets old very quickly. The entirety of you isn't just your body.

Your perspective on astrology is unique in that it cuts through the bullshit. I like how quick you are to point out what is obviously woman-bashing propaganda from centuries past, and what is actually plausible and in-tune with the nature of the sign/nakshatra. However, I am actually really curious about your perspective on monogamy? There are some ideas circulating in feminist circles that monogamy was enforced to benefit men (to ensure that the offspring is theirs) at the expense of women's freedom and choice. For example, in one of your older posts, you implied that an evolved Venus in Aries would be more willing to accommodate a monogamous relationship, despite the placement having a reputation for being more... sexually liberal, I guess. Or that a Venus in Gemini is fickle only when they're unevolved, wherein the implication is that flings are only for the unevolved and the relationships endgoal is a strictly monogamous relationship. Then again, I am pretty sure you made those observations based on tropical astrology, so maybe there's a different way to look at it from vedic.
I'm really conflicted on this myself, I guess I can definitely see where both ways of thinking are coming from. It'd be lovely to hear your current perspective, if you are willing to share. Thank you for your work!
those posts are from atleast one year ago and i will admit most of my early work on tropical astrology is a bit shallow.
that said, i dont think monogamy curtails women's freedom or choice. do i find "monogamy" empowering? not necessarily but i also dont find casual sex "empowering". the truth is there is no winning either way. marriage/monogamy is an institution that is deeply flawed but what is the opposite of it? having as many partners as one wants? maybe it suits some but (and i know ill get flak for saying this) an "evolved" person is one who abstains or exercises self-control. not just with regard to sex but with any kind of indulgence, be it alcohol, drugs etc. i think its really flawed to view "freedom" as the ability to consume limitlessly. anybody who lives like that will tell you how self-destructive that is. you indulge too much (in anything) and you risk your own ruin.
we need structure, order and stability, otherwise we feel disoriented and spiritually lost. ive never looked at someone who's partying every night, doing a cocktail of 10 substances and waking up in a different person's house every morning and thought "wow they're so free!!". i know this is a very binary way of thinking and not what you intended to ask but im just airing my thoughts out.
as corny and cheesy as it sounds, i think the only thing that makes a partnership between two people "right" is love. a lot of men want a bangmaid or they just want to bang. neither of which is empowering for the women involved. im not trying to say that sex in itself is disempowering but that the ways in which men who only want sex from you treat you are. casual sex or having multiple sexual partners is fun but ive always felt like its disingenuous to call it empowering bc i dont think empowerment is something we get from having sex??? i feel like sex positivity has become a way for men and women to delude other women into thinking that they'll be happier or "freer" if they have more sex.
i dont want to be someone's sexdoll and neither do i want to be bangmaid.
but i believe in love and the highest form of love is consideration. the only way we can transcend systemic issues is if we have love for each other because if you love someone, you will value them, prioritize them, respect them and do whatever it takes to make things easier for them. expecting servitude and sex from women means you've never loved anybody in your life lol. i dont really think equality can exist or will exist simply because our world is really imbalanced but i do think individually we can champion each other and help each other rise up, if we move through the world with love and grace. i dont expect anything from "men" and atp i dont want to associate with them anyway but i do believe a man in love is one who will extend grace and id never feel like i needed anything else (from another man).
all of this is just my perspective and i will admit its vvv hard for me to find a man attractive or feel "connected" to him. i feel pretty asexual if im not seeing someone and i can only be intimate with someone i love and connect to deeply. this is why things i say or describe in my posts often dont have sexuality in them or are monogamy centered. that said, im not an advocate for it or anything, everyone above the age of 18 can do what they like and make decisions for themselves<3

Al-Haitham is forced to stop doubting the Akademiya

──────────────────
Al-Haitham started to grow suspicious about what's being taught at the Akademiya, viewing the teachings as propaganda and questioning everything about it.
It's not necessarily incorrect to believe that the Akademiya spreads cultist ideas but having a student be a non-believer could cause the doubts to spread like a virus and ruin the Akademiya.
As one of the sages, you took it upon yourself to make sure one of the best students doesn't go off on the 'wrong' path. In order to do this, you use your special ability to create a dream world in which you aim to make Al-Haitham stop questioning the Akademiya.
Al-Haitham enters the dream on his knees with his hands tied and due to not having a dream since he was a kid, he has no clue of what's happening. He can't move his legs an inch so trying to at least stand up is out of the question. He lowers his head and waits for something to happen.
He raises his head to the sound of footsteps. "You're quite foolish for believing that the Akademiya is wrong, we value honesty and knowledge. We wouldn't dare spread lies." You stand in front of him with your arms crossed.
"So that's what this is about.." Al-Haitham mutters.
"Since you think like this, I need to discipline you." You cut away his clothes, the student unable to fight back at all. He looks at you and down at his body in shock. "We can't let our own students go against us."
Al-Haitham quickly recovers, doubting that you would do anything sexual with him. "Whatever tactic you plan on using is likely ridiculous. There's nothing you can do to stop me from doubting the Akademiya." He glares at you.
"In a situation like this, the mind is much more susceptible to manipulation." You run your hand through his hair. "You won't remember any of this, only the new ideas that have been planted in your brain. You won't know why, but you'll stop doubting us."
He furrows his eyebrows. "A situation like this?" He questions. "That doesn't make sense, what about this is so special?"
Your laugh tells Al-Haitham that you know something he doesn't, mocking him in a way that makes him seethe.
You harness the power of hydro and douse Al-Haitham in water. His body shivers, the sudden cold air in the room making him feel as though he's going to freeze.
Your cold fingers wander along his body, groping his chest and pulling his now hard nipples before putting clamps on them. You take the chain connecting the two clamps and bring him towards you, shoving your fingers into his mouth and forcing him to swallow a pill before you let go.
The effects hit instantly. Al-Haitham's mind and vision goes hazy and a faint buzzing sound bugs the back of his head. He can barely think.
"You will no longer doubt the Akademiya." You say, kneeling down and putting a vibrator on his cold nub, using the advantages of the dream world to create it and keep it there. "You will believe everything we say without question." You turn the vibrator on.
Al-Haitham squirms and moans, barely able to stay upright. "St- hh~ stop-" He's stuck in between being hot and cold, he's freezing but the sensations and pleasure growing from the vibrator does a good job at warming him up.
You wrap a light green collar around his neck, so tight that he gets lightheaded. You bring a hand to his head and cause hallucinations, forcing him to believe he's gone multiple days without food despite it only being a few minutes in the dream.
While he's going through the hallucinations, you repeat more manipulating words to get stuck in his mind. He gets more and more sensitive from the vibrator. You lose count after he comes a 10th time.
"Please...please..ah~" He arches his back, orgasming for the nth time. "Fo- food...please~"
You snap him out of the hallucination, the imaginary starvation sticking with him. He looks up at you with tears in his eyes and red cheeks, silently pleading for mercy.
You push him onto his back and spread his legs. The best way to implant ideas in another person's mind is to make them unable to think of anything else but you and what you're saying.
He sighs in relief when you finally remove the toy. Relief turns to fear when he sees you pull your pants off, instinctively wanting to close his legs even though he's unable to.
"God, you're so wet now." You tease him with your tip, your pre cum adding more wetness to the ocean he has downstairs. You slide into him with extreme ease, filling him up and satisfying the need he never knew existed.
"wha- what do want from me?" Al-Haitham whispers shakily, starting to forget why he's here in the first place.
"Your complete devotion." You grab the clamps on his nipples, pulling and twisting them around. He arches his back, coming from the abuse to his nipples. "You need to stop having doubts." You grab his thighs and start drilling into him.
Al-Haitham breaks out into loud and slutty moans, too fucked up to even try pretending like it's not good. Having you knock the wind out of his lungs with your thrusts makes him even more lightheaded but he never passes out, the dream preventing anything like that from happening.
"Do you still doubt the Akademiya?" You ask. Al-Haitham only moans, not giving you a response. "Answer me." You grab the chain and pull at both of his nipples.
He's looking straight at you but he's out of it, eyesight blurry and his mind completely ruined. "Nn- no~ ah~!"
"You're loyal to the Akademiya then, am I correct?" You keep fucking his brains out with your hand still grabbing the chain.
"Ye- yes~!" His eyes roll back, the constant pulling on his nipples too overwhelming for him.
"You believe everything we say..."
"Wi- withou~ without ques- question~" He finishes.
"Good boy." You grin. "You love having my cock inside you, don't you? So good at following orders just because of how good you feel."
Al-Haitham moans, clenching around you.
You instill more manipulating words into his brain as you get close to an orgasm, rewiring his thoughts before you fill him with your load.
His mind goes blank and he's flashed with a bright light before he wakes up, not remembering the dream at all.
Al-Haitham questions the odd feeling in his front, numbness and some pain as well as the feeling of cum residing inside him. Although even when he stands, nothing comes out.
His fingers graze over his unusually sore nipples and his mind wanders to you, thinking about how it would feel if you touched them.
"What..?" He moves his hands away and covers his mouth, cheeks warm from the weird and uncharacteristically lewd thought.
He doesn't question the fact that he no longer has any problems with the Akademiya, his worship for it seems completely normal to him.
Al-Haitham doesn't know what to do with all the weirdly horny thoughts he has of you though...

Awful Characters Round 2 Part 2 (8/8)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut!
SHATTERBIRD
She exploded all the glass and sand in Dubai, killing thousands upon thousands, and then eventually joined a group of merciless serial killers and repeated this with every single city she visited because she craved the attention and fear and respect that she got from doing this. She quite possibly has a kill count higher than any other human on the planet considering thousands die from their windows, watches, phones, glasses, cars, or other glass objects impaling them with shards whenever she performs her city-shattering scream, and she's done this dozens of times. Beyond the mass murdering, she's also just a generally unpleasantly haughty and overly proud person, seeing many others as below her and quoting literature like a pretentious asshole. I like her because her power of silicon control is really damn cool, her outfit is pretty, she's hot, and also because her backstory is rather interesting because so much of what set her on the path to becoming the worst person ever is out of her control. I've also been called a bad person online for saying that her background was out of her control, if that counts for something. Anyway yeah she's fucking awful I love her.

Can't Fuck Bracket - Group Stage. Group 29: Canon Incels/Shitty Lays
Severus Snape (Harry Potter) versus Tim Campbell (Crazy Ex Girlfriend) versus Ace (Powerpuff Girls)
Tumblr media
[ID: The unfuckable pride flag overlaid with the "no bitches" meme. Over it are pictures of the contestants. Snape is a white man with long hair that looks greasy; Tim is a white man in suspenders with short brown hair; Ace is a green man with a pointy face. Over them are sparkles and a heart with a butt, and in between them are peach emojis crossed out with the word "vs" in them. End ID]
Propaganda:
Severus Snape: "Thinks being a dick to 11-year-olds twenty years after the fact is a reasonable response to a woman not wanting to sleep with him"
Tim Campbell: "He canonically is so bad at sex his wife immediately goes to the bathroom to “clean up” and he hears buzzing that she says is an electric toothbrush. He is later informed by his female coworkers that the buzzing from the bathroom is actually his wife’s vibrator. “Buzzing from the bathroom” is his only solo song, and it’s about how he has literally never made his wife cum after years of being together."
Ace: "back in 2018 the internet band gorillaz did a crossover thing where they had the character ace as a "guest musician" on their album and cartoon network let it happen with the caveat that he legally wasn't allowed to do drugs or have sex. his name is ace and he legally is not allowed to fuck."

Ranking Hazbin Hotel songs (ep. 1-4)
Just elaborating on my opinions on the music so far. To be honest, I'm not too keen on the forced quota of two songs per episode, but what salvages it is that the compositions and voices are high quality. The best songs do also a great job in the characterization department, and they've been stuck in my head for a while now lol.
8) Hell is Forever
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I don't like Charlie's singing. Not because she's a bad singer, I don't like how she's treated as a joke, and I don't like her cheap Disney parody style. This is even worse because by plot reasons she has to sing super fast about concepts we already know about. It's unpleasant to the ear.
And Adam. ugh. I hate Adam. His verse is actually not that bad! I like how he introduces another obstacle to Charlie's plan: the man has (by his own admission, which is a bit lazy) a black and white view of the situation, and he refuses to accept any redeemed soul in Heaven. And the rock style is good too. Just. I hate him. I hate his fratboy personality. I hate his voice until he finally takes it seriously. He ruins a perfectly nice solo. Gah.
7) Happy Day in Hell
Again. I don't like how Charlie is treated as a joke even by the narrative. I also am confused as to how we're meant to see Charlie singing as something silly she does in-universe, when then everyone else sings and they're taken seriously. Anyway, this is a generic "yep everything will be just fine" song, because get it she's in Hell, and get it things will not be fine! My Little Pony had a similar joke ages ago, and it was mercifully shorter.
At least it sounds good, because Charlie has a nice voice, and I like the jazzier finale.
6) It Starts With Sorry
Forgettable. I have nothing to say about it.
5) Whatever it Takes
A nice ballad shared between one of the protagonists and a character that has been just introduced. I am intrigued by the parallels between Vaggie and Carmilla, but that's about it. I don't think this scene needed to be put into song, which emphasizes how the quota of two songs per episode was unnecessary. Carmilla's VA is also better with a bombastic voice than with a slow ballad. (nothing to say about Vaggie, she sounds lovely)
4) Respectless
While it shares the previous song's problem of being kind of unnecessary, this one is at least boppy and interesting. I like how the style changes to reflect the singers' personalities, from Carmilla's more proper Latin instrumentation to Velvette's modern pop. Some of Velvette's lyrics are just terrible ("bae"? in 2024? 😭), but she picks up in the second half where she shows her true intelligence. Also both of them have nice voices.
3) Stayed Gone
A delightful, jazzy, and most importantly salty duet between Vox and Alastor! Not only it's very fun to sing, it does a great job at presenting the characters: Vox is a fast smooth-talker, but his anti-Alastor propaganda comes off as desperate, and he crumbles quickly under Alastor's timeless charm who doesn't even try that hard to paint Vox as an insecure clout-chaser. The bookend is also done well, with Vox attempting to sound menacing, but Alastor straight up sounding like a predator stalking their prey. The song establishes their rivarly in an entertaining way and only gives us the breadcrumbs to explain to us what happened between them, keeping the intrigue.
(also I can't get enough of Alastor saying "and now he's pissy, that's the tea :D" just to mock Vox' obsession with modernity. he's so sassy lol)
2) Loser, Baby
Alternative title: media literacy test :P
While I think I prefer Stayed Gone musically, this is just a wholesome scene... as much as it doesn't look like at first lol. It pulls all the weight to show Husk's inner depths: he's old enough, wise enough, and empathetic enough to know that the Charlie approach (being endlessly optimistic and kind) doesn't work on someone like Angel, who 5 minutes prior was willing to get himself rape drugged in a self-harming act. So he hits him with a double whammy of brutal honesty ("yes, you're a loser, you suck, your situation is terrible") and simple support ("but you're not the only one, I suck too, I like you the way you are and you can at least be miserable with me").
And this is important for Angel, who has a very skewed view of himself after all the abuse he went through. When he says that he's a loser and a dummy, and jokes about not having more holes to deflower, he's casting away the bravado that he uses to hide his pain. It's the first step to accept himself as he is, knowing that at least someone out there can appreciate him for who he is, and not just what he can give. It's beautiful.
Also Keith David <3 the contrast between his low smooth voice and Blake Roman's higher pitch <3 (and once again, "you're a power bottom at rock bottom" cracks me up)
1) Poison
Oh this has been my obsession ever since I found it. It's so good. The layers. The rhythm. The voice. I love it so much! 💖
I've always liked Addict for the contrast between the poppy music and the miserable lyrics, but its spiritual successor goes above and beyond. What a perfect inlook into Angel's broken spirit. He blames himself for the hell he's stuck in, and doesn't expect to break free soon. He's aware that Valentino only feeds him poison (lies? beatings? fake love?), but Angel is addicted to it and can't get away from him, so he willingly poisons himself and convinces himself that it's what he wants after all - it was his choice, after all. He likes it, right? He gets wasted like there's no tomorrow because he has no reason to live another day. It's terrible! And yet the song is so catchy and fun to sing, and it has probably the most interesting rhymes so far. It's the only song I genuinely wish it was longer.
And the visuals only help <3 I can't get enough of Angel dancing, either chained to Valentino and smiling even as he's thrown on the floow, or alone, pretending to be sexy and confident but then cowering at Valentino's sight. Abuse romanticism my entire ass, it's a more nuanced look on the dynamics of abuse than many other works I've seen.
And Angel's broken voice at the end destroys my heart :) Blake Roman, guys.

Sorry if I came off as rude, I guess I’m just looking for a little clarification. You say you like Cullen bc you enjoy his redemption arc, but how can he have a redemption arc if you think he did nothing wrong? You’re free to have your own opinion, but isn’t the whole point of a redemption arc that a character grows and rights their past wrongs?
I don't think you came off as rude, so don't worry about that! I also get what you're saying, but my about post actually doesn't say that I like Cullen's redemption arc, but that "I personally find his struggles with addiction, trauma, and the typical notion of ‘redemption’ to be really relatable." I personally have come to think that Cullen has already redeemed himself and needs no 'arc', and here's a little bit of why (it's long, sorry).
Cullen goes to join the Templars as a child, around 12-13. At that age, Templars are the heroes for a lot of kids--nuance is not really a thing a preteen understands, or at least not any preteens I knew, myself included. From that point, though, he's raised in what is, for all intents and purposes, a militant arm of a cult. He is trained as a child soldier, fed propaganda about mages, ultimately fed lyrium in what we know to be a method of control. By the time he's 17-19, his approximate age range during Broken Circle, he nevertheless still does not see mages as inherent enemies. He doesn't buy into the propaganda--until, that is, the Circle falls, and he is ultimately tortured in many different ways by people he thought he was protecting.
After this, reeling from the trauma of this experience, he is forcibly isolated and sent to Kirkwall in a move by the Order to shape him into something malleable and hateful. The letters from his family are kept from him, which, imo, is a standard tactic of abuse and manipulation. The Order wants him to feel alone. They want him to feel empty. And he does. He arrives in Kirkwall and, I would argue, descends into a lyrium spiral, wherein he takes more lyrium to drown out the nightmares and to feel safer from another Kinloch, which requires in turn more lyrium, and more, and more. But he still never really says things that...aren't true. Even 'mages aren't people like you and me' is....uhh...right, and I think people interpret this line in a way that is deliberately scrubbed of nuance. To me, it reads as Cullen saying that mages are different from other people, that they are not like non-mages. Him not knowing he might be talking to a mage Hawke is just game mechanics, and if we can excuse dwarves being able to dream in DA:I against all of the worldbuilding, I'm fine with Cullen not being able to tell that Hawke is a mage.
But I digress a bit, sorry. By the time Cullen gets to the final battle with Meredith, his worst nightmares are repeating. The Circle is falling all over again, just like Kinloch. He has spent nearly a decade in Kirkwall being fed this hatred and kept from any real meaningful route to therapy or healing, which, in addition to being fed religious fanaticism and tethered by drugs, does irrevocable damage to a person. And then, when it comes down to it, when he is presented a choice between Meredith, the Order, her hatred, and quite literally anything else, he chooses 'anything else.' That, in and of itself, is enough 'redemption' for me, even though I don't think he needs redemption after breaking out of this cult that has controlled him for the better part of 15 years. He does clearly spend more time grappling with the guilt he feels and the question of 'have I done enough to better myself? have I done enough to deserve a future?' Which I think is a common trauma response that says already that this person is changed, and also a marker of long-lasting issues like PTSD.
In the end, I can't bring myself to blame him or fault him for the things inculcated in him by the Templars and the Chantry. He's right about mages, he's traumatized by his experiences, and still he ends up seeing through the Order's propaganda and freeing himself, after which he struggles with the idea that he has not redeemed himself enough to deserve living the life that the Templars tried to take from him. That's what I mean when I say I enjoy his struggles with the typical notion of redemption. For Cullen, and I think for many people who have experienced trauma that led them to hate, anger, and pain, this sisyphean task of redeeming oneself according to the outside world will never be enough, because it always feeds back into the question of 'do i deserve to be good.'
Cullen did nothing wrong in being failed and abused by a predatory order that attempted to shackle his mind through drugs. He broke through that of his own accord the first time he was presented with a choice, and every moment since he has been wrestling with the fear instilled in him by his very real trauma and his desire to be different. Whatever hurt he caused, I still can't fault him. And maybe that's because of my perception of shared trauma, but it's my take.
