Seeing people hating Soren for hating the laguz is wild because. That's the point!!! He suffered so much and he became bigoted because his life was horrific and that's the point!!! Because even then he learns and he grows and that's literally part of the point!!!
Like I don't know how to tell you, but something amazing about Tellius is how they show you racism being born out of very different experiences and still showing it's bad. Jill, who was raised with those ideas. Soren, who thinks like that because of his own pain. Shinon, who's kinda just an asshole. It's never framed as something good. With Jill and Soren we see them learning and growing and changing, no longer judging others for that.
It's called being able to tell a story with nuance, being able to show characters who are the good guys and still have flaws, really bad ones, and not getting excused for them, so they have to learn and grow and change.
And it's not easy but that's the point!!!

boards season is over and there's going to be a mass burnout because all of us spent the last two months on minimal sleep, oversaturated on coffee
so here's a few reminders:
you did good. stop worrying about it stop trying to calculate what your percentage might be stop thinking about the dumb mistakes you could've avoided, its okay. you did good.
take a break, even if for a day or two because i know a lot of us have a whole lot of entrance tests coming up. but our brains and bodies have been on overdrive so take a break, you deserve it
rejuvenate. try slowly bringing yourself back into a normal schedule. work on fixing your sleep schedule, work on eating better. there's a long road ahead of us, you want to have a healthy sustainable routine to make it through this.
explore. it is not too late to change your path, i promise. this is the last chance you get to change your mind, don't waste it. explore your options now that you have full knowledge about your strengths and limits, there is so much more out there than we've been told. there are so many options i guarantee you will find your perfect fit, don't compromise on your future by just going along with the crowd, find what you want to do and work for it.
lots of love <3

i know a lot of people have said it already but it does kinda suck that the only thing you actually gain from recruiting minthara is minthara herself. the obvious way to get her (siding with the goblins) locks you out of three companions (karlach, wyll, halsin), all the tiefling refugee npcs and their associated quests, and a whole quest related to halsin in act 2. and there's nothing to make up for it, you just have less things to experience now
even if you're not doing a necessarily 'evil' playthrough, like i am, and you don't choose sides and moved on to the creche (which i did, because it made sense for my character to want to get there as soon as possible), you still lose most of the same things. functionally, aside from keeping karlach and wyll, you get pretty much the same result as you would personally slaughtering a whole bunch of refugees

i have to watch this all again and process but i have one thing to say for now. thank you to the writers of season 2. there are so many flaws, so many things crammed into eight episodes when they would have needed 28, but they did one thing right that leigh could never do. they did alina justice. they left her powers to her, they let her rebuild ravka as she wished to, and they let her explore her dark side too. she used merzost, she brought mal back unlike in the books, and she tasted that power. she liked the power of that cut. she loves her power, her light, and leigh stripped her of that in the books. and why? to make her live a normal mortal life with mal. but they did this perfectly here, mal is his own person and he wants to find out who he is without his destiny to be alina’s amplifier, and alina wants to rebuild the country she fought so hard for, keep the friends and family she found along the way. this ending was perfect. i know we’ll see them again and they probably will end up together at some point, but this wasn’t it, this wasn’t the right time anyway. and i’m beyond happy they didn’t strip alina of her powers. she is a summoner, she loves being grisha, and i always hated how she was just taken away from all of that after tearing down the fold. it was as if she’s only been made for that purpose, to tear down the fold and then disappear again. now, she finally gets a chance to be her own person have a different purpose, rebuild a country, find her path, discover more about her power. she can choose where to go from here. i really couldn’t be happier about this ending
