since the barbie movie brainrot is getting to me, have some

ben reilly x reader headcanons (when you go to watch the barbie movie)

btw spoilers for the barbie movie under the cut !!

when you came up to him, asking him if he'd like to watch the barbie movie with you, he'd perk up a little from his 'moping pillar' and think about it, but he'd go back to facing it while telling you, "i got no time to watch some silly dolls movie, babe... i have real things to do and think about, not watch a bunch of dolls come to life."

you'd nod sarcastically and tease him about wanting to see it for ryan gosling because "blonde himbo men are your type", you'd say while side eyeing him with a sly smile as he perks up at those first three words.

he'd grumble a little and ask what's so good about the barbie movie, and you'd argue, "because it's barbie!" and he'd groan as he stomps his feet and trudges behind you, grumbling, "oh please, you just wanna see it for ryan gosling, i'm already right here for you, babe."

as you two are watching the first few minutes of the movie, by the time you get to the first song, HE'D BE VIBING ALONG AND SWINGING HIS HEAD TO THE MUSIC

"because you used to do that when you were asking me out, remember?" (he does not remember, or pretends not to) "well i always get a kiss in the end, unlike ken over here. what a crappy name, anyway." "it's close to yours." during that one scene where ken's wearing the long sleeved clothing that said something along the lines of "i'm kenough", he'd be tearing up during the context of that scene and mumbles, "i'm benough..." "that you are, benny. you are benough."

out of the two of you, ben would come out crying, but he'd mask it as his usual brooding state and claim he just had some dust in his eyes. "in a theater?" "y-yeah... the pink p... powder fr-from the p-p-popcorn ente... red my e-eyes." "benny, it's completely okay to cry... like how barbie told ken..." you'd tell him as you hold his arm and caress his bicep, AND HE LETS OUT ALL HIS PENT UP EMOTIONS AND SADNESS ON YOU FROM THE MOVIE RIGHT THEN AND THERE, GUSHING ABOUT HOW HAPPY HE WAS FOR KEN FINDING WHO HE WAS WITHOUT BARBIE AND HOW BARBIE BECAME HUMAN.......

A/N: I need more of him in the future, he was golden in the movie.

Ben doesn't hesitate, he didn't hesitate when he asked you out on a date, he didn't hesitate when he asked you to dance, he didn't hesitate when he stepped forward and kissed you. So why was he feeling like such a mess right now? It was just a simple side hug on the couch but his face was as scarlet as his costume at the idea.

What was it? You cuddled before, fell asleep on his chest, you kissed him, you let him leave marks on your neck as a good night gift, you've even seen him without his shirt on. So what was it about this that was tipping him up so badly?

"Your heart's beating. Everything okay Ben?" You blinked up at him, hands fisting into his hoodie. Ben blinked back, getting even redder in the face that's he's been caught in... whatever was happening to him.

The hero tried not to dwell on it too much and wrapped his arms around you, letting you feel his skin on yours, feel his muscles flex and relax. "Everything's fine babe." There was a slight tightness to his voice, his smile a bit too awkward then normal. As you kept looking at him you could hear his heart speeding up until he sighed, "I... think I'm nervous. When you cuddle up on me like his, so close, I freeze. I messed up a lot of things in my life, I don't want this relationship to be one of them."

You were pretty sure there was nothing Ben could do to mess this up if he really was the sweetheart he's lead you to think he is. As for the things he's messed up, you haven't gotten to that part of his life just yet but you were damn sure you were not gonna be one of them. Not if you can help it.

With a slight angling of his chin towards yours you gave him a light peck on the lips, his heart once again beating faster, a little boost to your ego if you had to admit. "Ben, in the year that I've known you you've been nothing but delightful to me. I wouldn't have dated you if I thought it would go nowhere. So far, I don't know about you, but I've been having a great time."

"Me too." He took your hand in his, intertwined your fingers and brought your hand to your lips. "I really care about you. I just don't want you to hate me if... you see a side of me that's not pretty."

"All of you is pretty to me." You felt him relax into the next kiss and pull you fully on top of him, confidence coming back fast as your hands found his abs, "This one especially." You whispered against his lips and watched him bite his lip at the feeling of you running your fingers down his abs, his mirroring the movement down your back.

"There's more of me to show. If you want." His pretty grin was back, as was the fire and desire in his eyes as you nodded your head.

you end up locating it and capturing it in about an hour and a half. quick as hell.

▸ you seem to work well with him!!! progressively, you notice that you're paired up with him quite frequently.

this isn't strange– itz actually fairly easily rationalized this by the fact that you just seem to work more efficiently as a duo

▸ eventually, you two become friends and spend time together beyond just doing missions

▸ it's relieving for the rest of the spider society to know he does more than just ruminate over his harrowing past and distressing memories when he's not saving the multiverse

▸ but it becomes just... a little peculiar. you may be oblivious, but you're far from stupid. everyone notices how he's spending more time around you than anyone else– he follows you like a lost puppy

you ask him about this,, and he fervently denies it

But, fun fact with a lot of spiders their mating rituals have the male lay down a "spermweb" to attract mates. As well as fear is a big part of what turns them on, female spiders being 2x the size of males, tending to have the dominant role. Pinning is also a big part of it as well. (Male spiders actually tend to be much more skishes.)

So imagine your spiderman of choice being in mating season, with a mix of these feelings due to them being half spider. Hallo everynyan. I am not dead, I just have felt the worst case of writers block I’ve had in a while. Trying to get myself out of this funk, so here’s something about Ben Reilly, as I haven’t seen a single x male reader about him.

You and Ben would have been dating for a while before his heat hits him, leaving him scrambling through his apartment to start gathering blankets and other materials he can use to make a structure.

It’s not fully a nest, its more like a pillow and blanket fort, closed off from the outside world. There’s webs all over it too, almost like Ben was marking his territory, or some animalistic part of himself was saying “hey, this is mine, back off”-

Ben would shoot off a text to his earths Peter, since they most likely work side by side, that he needs his patrol covered for personal reasons. Seeing as peter has heats as well, he understands and wishes Ben luck, offering to bring him stuff he needs.

After calling around with his job and getting his shifts covered, Ben would settle down into the structure, antsy and oh so uncomfortable in his skin. He would feel almost naked without you there, without your weight holding him down and your hands touching him.

Ben would never have told you about his heats if you weren’t another spider as they embarrass him so greatly, because they reduce him to a limp submissive mess. He lets his eyes water in the solace of his house, his lights off with only the candle light illuminating his face as he holds onto Gabi’s fuzzy baby clothes. They were so small, she was so small.

“I thought it was harmless.” He thinks. “I thought it was harmless, I thought it was harmless.” He repeats to himself as he walks to her grave with aching feet. This Gabriella has a grave, he couldn't even give the other one that luxury.

He feels himself go mental as he can't help but make another ofrenda for his other Gabi, right next to the one from his universe. He doesn't have anything of this Gabriella, just printed out photos of the videos he has. Videos where she's not even with him, just the man he wanted to be.

He never wanted to be Spiderman. He wasn't like Peter, Jess, Ben, Gwen, or Miles chasing after a normal life and the grandeur of Spiderman at the same time. He just wanted his Gabriella, su corazon.

“I thought it was harmless.” He repeats as he curls his hands into fists, his claws digging into his skin, not caring if he draws blood. Today, Gabriella would be fifteen - she'd have her quinceañera. He places her last doll and last shoes, his arms shaking as he wishes he could give her a last dance.

It was November 1st and Miguel wished his photo was up on the ofrenda instead.

warning: absolutely delulu headcanon incoming (based on a convo i had w/ @sharonz-arty-corner03)

after the happenings of atsv calm down (and they will <- im insane) and miguel BEGS and GROVELS for forgiveness and everyone becomes a family again (AND THEY WILL <- even more insane), miguel totally becomes the dad that always has a child crawling over or hanging onto him. (more under the cut!!)

seeing that he’s 6’9 (in the movie atleast lmao) ~300 pounds, and built like a brick shithouse, the kids immediately go “oh so you’re a jungle gym”

he’s in a super important meeting? mayday’s climbing over his shoulders babbling. another meeting? pav is clamped to his back, interrupting the meeting with periodic snores and sleep-mumbles. the other meeting members bring it up and he glares them down.

he’s working? hobie is crawling over his shoulders and back and leaning over him and blocking miguel’s view of the screens with his hair and arms and hands. miguel tries to act annoyed but he’s just glad that hobie finally feels comfortable.

he’s talking with jess or peter b? miles and gwen are running around him, playing tag and using his hands and shoulders and back as vaulting platforms. or they’re just sitting on both his shoulders, holding a completely unrelated conversation. miguel keeps a perfectly straight face, but on the inside he’s grinning so widely.

he’s working in the lab with margo? they're leaning back to back, margo’s leaning over his shoulders and ducking under his arms to show him something or ask a question.

peni needs to get energy out? she’s using him a jungle gym, crawling over his shoulders and swinging over his arms and clambering up his back. her nails dig into his skin ever so often, and she nearly falls a couple times, but miguel just catches her and sets her up on his shoulder.

he’s reporting after a tiring mission? ben’s leaning against miguel’s WALL of a back, arms wrapped around his chest and face shoved into his shoulderblade. his breathing is steady, but he’s sagging against miguel’s back. eventually, miguel turns around and scoops him up in his arms.

he’s working on his platform (in his office that’s warmer than the rest of the building)? noir comes in, shivering slightly (you cannot tell me that boy has a core body temp above 20 degrees). he clambers up onto the platform, and shoves his forehead against miguel’s shoulder. he just swings an arm around the boy and pulls him into his side. noir falls asleep, and miguel picks him up, figuring a nap might be good for them.

just….miguel who gets to be a dad again man.

Sure do!

His eyes are actually very sensitive to light and that's why it looks like he's glaring all the time. Boi needs a pair of sunglasses on a sunny day otherwise it's constantly scowling.

He has deep-rooted anxiety, not just about himself and his own identity, but by being around a lot of people. After finding out he was a clone of Spider-Man, he struggled with coming to terms with it and differentiating himself from Peter (nothing new if you've read comics, but I disgress.) Being around people gives him a lot of anxiety because he feels like he has to constantly protect himself. Fight or flight is ingrained into him and he struggles with relaxing with the team, even if he WANTS to. He's always waiting for SOMETHING bad to happen.

He's incredibly bristly and doesn't take anyone's bullshit, but he actually has a very low opinion of himself. Dealing with Otto's narcism all the time gave him a lot of self-hatred and anxiety, and instead of dealing with it in a healthy way, he tends to lash out and attack first because he doesn't feel safe being vulnerable in front of people.

He's become very aware of Peter and over-analyzes all the little behaviors they share. They both rub the back of their necks alot when they're sheepish, they both love wheatcakes to an unhealthy degree, and they both deep appreciation old 80's sitcoms. Sometimes Ben tries to change these behaviors because he doesn't want to be seen as TOO much like Peter. He gets anxious about other people making these connections and seeing him as some screwed up, off-brand Peter Parker.

He;s also incredibly kind and soft if you can get him alone. If its just him and one other person, he tends to let his guard down a little and relaxes more. He feels like he has to put on a big, tough guy performance in front fo a crowd/group, but one-on-one, he lets his walls down. (He has a secret soft spot for Miles and Amadeus)

Aunt May is his most favorite person in the entire world, and she's one of the few people he feels like he can be himself around. She makes him feel the safest he's ever been.

He overcompensates to make up for betraying Peter, Aunt May, and the Academy. He tries to take on more than he can handle to prove that he won't do something like that again, but gets very standoffish and defensive when Hydra or Otto is brought up. He's still working on it.
