“Oh, sorry to startle you there.  You must be Robby Anderson.  Coach Thomas said that I could use the Away Team locker room for the privacy in showering and cleaning up.  He also said that you might be lurking in here.  No, no.  You don’t have to leave or even cover up.  I have been in many locker rooms and around naked young men all my life.  You have nothing I haven’t seen before.  In fact, I’m about to take a shower.  Join me….
“I’m Doug Mason.  I’m a scouting for local high school football talent.  I’ve been watching a number of your school’s players in the heat.  I am really in need of this shower.
“Damn these socks have my stinky foot sweat.  Hoo-wee!  They are nasty.  Wanna take a sniff?...  Sure you do.  Take them….  I said ‘Take them!’  Hold them up to your nose and inhale deeply….  You like that smell hunh?...  Of course you do.  You are tenting in your shorts.
“Take them off.  Let me see your pecker….  Look it’s just us.  And I already know you are a sperm burper.  Coach Thomas told me….  What?  You didn’t know he knew?  Well…
“Shorts!  Off!…
“See that wasn’t hard.  Well, the decision wasn’t hard, but your tiny pecker sure as hell is.  No, don’t hide it.  I like the look of it.  It’s small, but so are you.  You are what?  5’3” and 120 pounds?...  Yeah, I’m pretty good at sizing men up.  I was off by only a few pounds.  That pecker is what four inches?  For a small guy like you, it’s perfect.
“Now me, I got a foot on you, and I’m more than double your weight.  And as you can see by my bulge I my jock, I’m more than double your dick size.  Wanna see it?...  Of course you do.  Kneel in front of me.  Reach up and pull my jock down….  Slowly.
“Smell that?  That’s all-natural man sweat.  No. No. Not yet.  You’ll taste it in a bit.  I know you like the smell of men sweating.  But above all, I know you love to sniff ass.  Here’s mine.
“Hairy, just the way you like it.  Reach up and pull my meaty cheeks apart.  Take a deep whiff.  Smells nasty hunh?  That’s what we are going to start with—you cleaning my shithole.
“But let’s do it where you normally clean Erich sweaty shithole, in the shower area.  Go.
“I’m really surprised that you haven’t asked me how I know so much about you.  I mean you are known to clean out rank shitholes and then take a pile driving in your cunt.  For a plain looking 18-year old senior in high school, that’s pretty amazing.  And you kept it quiet, even better.
“Lay wherever you normally do.  Get that tongue out, cause my ass is coming down to sit on your face….  It’s been a while since I played in a shower.  Stay still….  Oh man.  You are wasting no time; that tongue is going in deep.
“Coach Thomas doesn’t know that you are a world class pig under that meek, math nerd, submissive exterior.  I don’t know what it is about guys into math, but they are pretty much twisted as fuck.
“Coach only knows that you hook up with quarterback Erich Schneider before and after each game, as part of some superstition thing that Erich has.  I talked with him... Erich.  You know he’s the reason why I’m out here.  Nobody else on the team is of the caliber that he is.
“I took him to lunch and I point blank asked him if he had a fag on the side.  He asked me how I found out.  I told him Coach Thomas.  He was panicked.  I said he’s known for a year or so, and that he’s not to worry as nobody has said anything.  His job is to make each player the best he can be.  And to do that he needs to know what a player is sticking in his stomach and what a player is sticking his dick into at all times.
“Get up.  Let’s get the shower going.  I want you to take this washcloth and wash me down.  Spend some time washing my cock.  I know you want to play with it.  But while you are doing that listen up.
“I’m a lot like your Coach.  If I’m going to offer a scholarship to a player, I need to know everything going on in that player’s life.  Having a faggot on the side can be a problem, but that depends on the faggot.  Having an ass eater faggot to improve one’s game performance is understandable.  Erich is ready to ditch you, but I have an idea.
“After talking with Coach Thomas, he says that you got into the university, but didn’t get in on scholarship.  He also said that your family can’t afford it, and yet make too much money for financial aid.  I’m going to make you an offer.
“As I said, I want Erich to come play for us.  If I can offer you as an incentive, he won’t be able to turn us down.  If you want to be one of our students, I can arrange to help you out.  But your primary purpose is to provide Erich whatever he needs: eat his ass before a game, fuck you after a win, or beat the fuck out of you after a loss.  Your holes are his to use as he sees fit.  You would still need to get a job to help support yourself.  And if anything should happen to break it off with you, the assistance I am offering would dry up in an instant.
“That’s option one.  Option two has all the same service to Erich, but you live with me and possibly one other fag on my ranch.  I live on six acres outside the county line about ten minutes from the main campus.  You would be servicing me as well.  I know you can take a face sitting.  I have seats made for that for you to lay under.  And you will take a mean fuck every day.
“I love tiny fag boys like you.  Just look at my cock right now.  I am hard just thinking about it.  If the shower wasn’t going you would see my leak.  I wasn’t planning on fucking you, but you are too much for me not to.  Lather me up.
“If you live with me, I can arrange to get your schooling paid for.  I just need to whore you out to one of the administrators, actually two of them.  They can set it up so that all your tuition and fees are paid for.  You will need to get good grades.  I will control your study times as well.  You will be whored out to whoever I choose.  And I know a lot of men.  Someone with your size, cute looks, and demeanor will be in demand.  The fact that you are barely legal alone will have the men asking me.  And they will pay.
“Now reach behind you and lube up that cunt.  I need to take it for a ride.  If it’s not to my liking—kinda hard to believe—the second option is off the table.  At the end, when I pull my deflating cock out of your gaping cunt, you will let me know which option you want.
“I can’t take it anymore.  Get on the floor, face down.  Don’t reach for your pecker.  In fact let me see your hands at all time.  There is only one dick that matters here, and it sure as fuck ain’t yours.
“I can fuck for hours, but this needs to be quick.  I need to get back to Erich and Coach Thomas.  You ready for some pile driving?  If not, I don’t care.
“…Am I crushing you?  Aww.  Well you need to adapt to the cock in your cunt.  And this hole is definitely a cunt.  Men will use it for their pleasure.  Men will use you for their convenience.  That makes you a faggot.  Everyone else will think of you as gay, but you know that you are different.  You know that you need to be controlled and used by real men.
“Your cries echo in this shower, and it sounds like music.  I’m getting close.  Your guts are going to be flooded.  I’m gonna knock you up, knock you up real good.  Here it comes!  Here it comes baby!  Here it fucking cums. Here it cuuuuuuummmms!  Fuck yeah!  Uh, Uh!
“Fuck.  Fag.  Your cunt is gold.  You may be a small fag, but your cunt is deep.  Mmmm.  I could lay here all day on top of you.  But I need to pull out, and you need to clean off my cock.
“Get on your knees.  No, you are not cleaning me up with soap.  Open your mouth and take me in.  Clean up services are required of all faggots I’m control over.  It’s a courtesy to the men who just gave their loads.
“Don’t think about it.  Just do….  Atta boy.  Did you think any further about my offers?  You want to be Erich’s ass eater on campus?  Or you want to be one of my boys?
“Don’t talk with your mouth full.  I can see it in your eyes you want this life.  Good.  I’m going to transform you into one hell of a faggot cunt boy.
“You can tell your parents that you got a math scholarship, or whatever.  This starts next August.  That’s nine months away.  Until then, you will not pursue other men, at least ones I have not pre-approved of.  That does not apply to Erich, who you will never say no to.
“You will report to Coach Thomas at the end of each school day.  You have gym as your last class.  That will make it easy.  He will provide any further instructions.  And he doesn’t require any pre-approval either.  Although I don’t think he will do anything; he doesn’t use current students.  He’ll watch out for you though.  I will guarantee, once you graduate in June, he will make a move on you.
“He and I have a long history together.  We both like the same type of fag boys, like you.  He and I belong to a group of men who like to share barely legal boys.
“There’s a bunch of us meeting tomorrow night for hood night.  Everyone wears a hood, both faggots and men.  The only difference is the faggots are blindfolded.  I will take you there.  And you will be open to any man there.  They are not going to ask permission to use you.  But what will most likely happen is that you will be taken and used all night by one man to service his beercan dick.  That will be Coach Thomas.  Even with you hooded, he will still know it’s you, but if anything ever came out about it, he can plausibly deny that he didn’t know.
“I can tell by how rock hard your pecker that you like the idea.
“Erich doesn’t need to know anything about this network of men, including Coach Thomas.  I have yet to fully figure him out.  You will let me and Coach Thomas know if he does anything different.
“Your tongue bath on my dick feels so good.  But I need to get dressed.  Here take my socks.  They are yours.  When you are jacking off, I want you to inhale their rank smell.  I want you to think of me.  My jock is for another boy.  I’ll get you one of Coach Thomas’s jocks to enjoy as well.
“As of right now, you can jerk off as much as you want.  Use my socks or his jock to focus your thoughts and fantasies on us.  For the next nine months before you move in with me, you are going to spend a lot of time by yourself.  Jerking off and thinking of servicing us will keep you in the right head space.
“Oh look Erich is coming in….
“Erich!  I have some good news!  I have been authorized to offer you a full scholarship to come play with us, with your own private room in our dorm, and a stipend for meals.  That’s officially.  Unofficial, you were telling me that you are going to miss your ass eater here.  Well, he’s agreed to start the same time as you.  He’ll be staying with me.  I’ll make sure he will be available for you to use any time you need him throughout your time with us.  You could come by my place for privacy.  Or, if it’s close to game time, I have access to a private spot for you to use right by the field.
“I told you that I could get him for you.  I’m quite known for getting the unspoken perks for my players.
“I know you have a ripe ass in need of some deep cleaning.  And you are right, the fag most definitely knows how to do it.  Thanks for letting me use him.  If I didn’t experience his talents, I would not have made him that offer.  I think this is a good situation for all.  I’ll be in touch later so we can celebrate over dinner.  Bring your family, your girlfriend, whoever you want.
“Fag, I will be in touch tomorrow about arranging that meeting.
“You two have fun.  I have to go talk to Coach Thomas about a coaching event he should attend tomorrow night.”

sun to me | jamie drysdale
Tumblr media
word count: 1.19k
summary: attempting long distance makes it clear to you and jamie that you need each other
warnings: loneliness, sad jamie, kissing, tiny bit of cursing
notes: loooove this one
Jamie was sprawled out on his bed in his cramped apartment in Philadelphia, staring blankly at the empty walls. He hadn’t decorated yet, let alone had the proper furniture. His bed was simply a mattress on the floor, his coffee table doubling as a kitchen table.
Jamie had been in Philly for about a month now. You’d think a month was enough to adjust to a new city, and while he had settled into a routine and gotten comfortable with all of the city’s quirks, something still felt off.
It was you. He missed you deeply. Your laughter, your presence, your comfort. You were his anchor. But you were tied to your job over 2,000 miles away in Anaheim. You guys had discussed this before he left, that 3 months wasn’t that long and you could withstand it. Then, at the season's end, you’d talk about your future together.
However, here you both were, on opposite sides of the country, distance putting a strain on the both of you.
Jamie did his normal pre-game routine with you on his mind. He thought of the fact that you were probably at work right now, wrapping up final tasks, before heading home and putting on the Flyers game. It was a miracle he found someone as supportive as you, willing to put up with the long days and stress that being a professional athlete could bring.
Each game he played knowing that when he got home he wouldn’t be coming home to you made them harder and harder. The facetimes and calls were not enough anymore and the strain on Jamie was starting to show in his gameplay. Today’s game was horrible. Jamie was benched for almost the entire third after he gave up 3 separate turnovers. Amidst the rowdy Philadelphia crowd, upset that their team was losing, his mind wandered to you. It was always you.
Jamie kept to himself while getting changed and showering, truly wanting to go home just to call you. After an unbearable 5 minutes with the media, Jamie trudged out of the locker room, shoulders slumped and spirits in the basement. Walking down the hall, Jamie feels an arm hook around his shoulders.
“Why the long face?” Cam asks.
Jamie shrugs off Cam's arm, his mind still reeling. "Just had a rough game, man. Ready to get out of here."
Cam flashes him a sly, knowing grin. “It’ll pick up soon, bud.” He says.
Jamie ignores his teammates' words, continuing down the halls of the Wells Fargo Centre. As he turned the bend, greeted by a myriad of voices, there you were.
Jamie could’ve sworn he was seeing things, maybe reaching a point of delusion. But there you were, standing with his teammates' girlfriends. Jamie’s heart lifted upon seeing you, the weight of a thousand worlds falling behind him as he headed straight for you. When he reached you, his arms enveloped you in a tight embrace.
The world around him fades away leaving only you two suspended in this moment. His touch is firm yet gentle, a silent declaration of his need for your presence, your comfort.
“Hi, James.” You say softly into his chest. Your delicate tone nearly sends Jamie over the edge, the reality of everything catching up to him, tears threatening to prick at his eyes.
“Hi, baby.” He says softly. You guys stay there for a few more moments before you force Jamie to walk to his car with you.
Deciding you had so much to talk about, Jamie drove you to a park to walk around while you guys spoke. You intertwined your fingers with Jamie's, drawing strength from the reassuring warmth of his touch. The weight of your words hung heavy in the air, a tangible reminder of the struggles you had endured during your time apart.
“So, what are you doing here?” Jamie asks, his grin having still not faded since first seeing you.
“I had to see you…” You tell him. “So I took two weeks off.”
“You did what?” Jamie asked.
“Jamie, I missed you so much, it was almost unbearable.” You confessed, your voice conveying the pain it had truly caused you. “With the time difference and our weird, conflicting schedules… I had to come and see you.”
Jamie's expression softened, his gaze filled with empathy as he listened to your words. He understood all too well the pain of separation, the relentless tug of loneliness that pulled at his heart with every passing day.
“Y/n, I missed you too. I’ve been fucking miserable.” Jamie said, a small chuckle escaping as he recounts the past couple of days. “It's like… no matter how many times we talk on the phone or text each other, it's never enough. I need you here with me, physically, emotionally… I just…”
Jamie suddenly stops walking, turning to face you.
“Marry me.”
The words were out of Jamie’s mouth before he knew it, the both of you sharing the same shocked reaction to his words. The unexpected proposal makes you freeze, your heart skipping a beat. Despite them being blurted out, Jamie knew that they were real feelings.
“W-what?” You ask. It felt as though time stood still as you processed his words. Jamie takes both of your hands in his, his eyes glimmering.
“I’m serious. Marry me.” He says again. “These last couple of months have been…fucking hell on earth. I’ve been miserable. And for a while, I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. At first, I thought it was the lack of sun… or maybe it was taking me a little longer than I thought to adjust to a new city. But it was you. I couldn’t bear not having you with me.”
Your heart was pounding in your chest, jaw open slack as you were processing his words.
“I want you here in Philly, with me. And whatever it takes.” Jamie says. “You can get another job here, in Philly, I’m sure the guys of their wives have connections here and they could help. Or don’t work! I can support you, I don’t care. What I’m trying to say is-”
You cut off Jamie’s rambling, pressing your lips to his, effectively shutting him up. Your lips melded together, picking up as if you had never been separated. As you parted, a small smile graced your lips. Jamie’s eyes scanned your face, desperate to read what you were thinking.
"Yes," you said, your voice steady with resolve. "Yes, I will marry you. And yes, I will come live with you in Philadelphia. We can figure everything else out later.”
Jamie let out a huff of relief before scooping you up in his arms and spinning you above the ground. You squeal, your laughter ringing like a melody in Jamie’s ears.
“Oh my god, I have a wife!” Jamie cheered loudly.
He leans down pressing a kiss to your lips, holding you close once again. As you held each other close, the weight of loneliness lifted from Jamie's heart, replaced by the comforting certainty of your presence.
“I love you so much.” Jamie whispers against your lips.

why are you everywhere, fuck. miles couldn't get you out of his head it's like you were taking over his life. you became the center of his drawings, spending like three hours perfecting the small details on your face, your wispy eyelashes, the brown and pink in your lips, everything. and that kiss didn't make it any easier, it wasn't his first kiss but god it made him obsessed.
it was becoming a problem for his prowler work, his uncle told him to get his head in the game.
you were sitting in physics and he wouldn't stop trying to touch you. he kept his knee pressed on yours the whole class and kept crossing the imaginary line on the table to touch your elbow with his. you looked through the side of your eye and saw that he was staring at you. "the way i can feel your stare right now is insane" you giggled, whispering. "i literally don't know what you're talking about" he pressed his lips together and shook his head.
neither of you have spoken about the kiss you'd shared three nights ago. things weren't awkward it just kind of went back to the way it was before. at least that's what you thought.
it was the end of class and your teacher assigned a partner paper that was due on monday for extra credit points, miles didn't need the points however you did. "can you pleasee just work with me?" you begged, following behind him down the hall. "i don't even need it? i have a 98" he told you. "alright well unlike you my grade sucks, pleaseee i wanna make honor roll, and right now i have a 79" you pleaded, hooking his arm. he let you keep your hand there, secretly enjoying the contact. "why don't you ask somebody else who needs it?"
"cause you're the only one i talk to there, everyone else seems boringgg. plus you're smart" you tried to inflate his ego to work in your favor. he didn't say anything he just looked down at your pleading eyes. "milessss" was all you said until he rolled his eyes. "relájate maldita sea, i'll do it with you. can you come to my house tomorrow night or your dad still hate me?" he joked and you laughed a bit. "if i tell him it's for school he might relax a lil" you said "so does that mean you'll help??" you asked again with a smile on your face.
he loved that on you, definitely going back in his sketchbook. "ain't that what i just said chiquita"he scoffed. you squealed "thank youuu, okay i'll see you later" you pulled off his arm and turned down the hallway to your locker.
ʚɞ
you walked out of the grocery store with bags and a small baguette in hand that you were chewing on. god you adored the bakery in that store. you turned down the street in the direction of your building when you heard someone "ay pretty lady what you doing out here this late" you turned to your side and saw some random guy talking to you. "ha, don't worry bout me." you nervously said back, deciding to just keep walking. "ah mami, don't be so cold~" now you could hear the slurring in his words, obviously drunk. you still kept it pushing and he just followed behind. "that ass is looking tight though" he reached a hand out and squeezed at your butt.
"what the fuck?!" you shouted, reaching into your pocket for your mace to spray him. you turned around but paused when you saw the familiar mask you knew from the news, the prowler. he was staring at you with a finger over where his mouth would be and reached his claws around the guys neck and pulled him into the alleyway nearby. you heard the guy scream, and some thuds before ultimately what you thought was blood splatter and a body dropping to the ground.
that was when you decided to make a run for it, and when the grocery store was out of sight, you walked as fast as you could back to your building. even though he'd just helped you, you did not want to get caught up with the prowler at all. he would be on the news for various crimes - theft, arson, aggravated assault, murder, etc. again, you couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. you ran into your building and up the stairs unaware of that mask staring at you from the building across.
miles was on his way home jumping from the rooftop to rooftop when he heard some voices on the street. he looked over and saw you being followed by some guy who looked drunk out of his mind. he followed on the roofs before jumping down, as silently as he could, behind the guy. he looked at the fright on your face and put a finger up to his mouth.
he grabbed the guy by the throat and pulled him into the alley behind him. he threw him down on the ground sending a kick to his face. he sent a punch to his face with his clawed gloved before throwing him up against the wall, sending another harsh blow to his face. it enraged him knowing that guy was tryna hurt you..or worse. he used the sharp claw to slice against his neck, the pressure sending his blood on the walls. he went limp and dropped to the ground. "one less fucking weirdo." he spat. he peeked out from the alley to see you were gone and practically sprinting back to your building, smart girl.
he followed behind you on the rooftops, something he's grown quite fond of doing when he would see you out on his patrols, to make sure you got home safe. he'd figured out which window was your bedroom a few weeks ago and didn't leave until he saw the lights turn on and your shadow illuminating against your curtains.
ʚɞ
it was friday afternoon and you got dressed to go over to miles' house. you got dressed in a pair of track pants with a baby tee and sneakers. you still wanted to look cute but you didn't want to feel like you were doing too much. you threw on your sweater and put your things in your bookbag and left.
you felt your palms getting sweatier the closer you got to the door. you knocked on it when you heard a muffled shout from behind the door. a few seconds later, you were met with miles - hair out and curly afro falling at the sides of his fade, black wife beater   on that exposed his gold chain and well defined muscles. he had a pair of black joggers on that showed the waistband of his boxers, god he looked good.
"you gonna keep standing there or do you want to come in" he joked with you. you rolled your eyes fondly before taking your shoes off by the door "you took your braids out" you pointed out. "getting em redone tomorrow" he told you. "by the way, my mom's here and she insisted on making you dinner" he told you, you nod your head before following him to the kitchen. "ahh cariño, you must be y/n" a woman greeted you with a smile and a hug. "i'm miles' mom, rio. when he told me he was bringing his little girlfriend over i had to meet you. and i made dinner, hope you don't mind" she told you. "momm" miles groaned making you giggle.
"not at all ms morales" you smiled at her. "miles baby be a gentleman, take her bag and her sweater for her" she told her son. he went up behind you and gently pulled them off your back before going to his room. "you want a plate baby? i made pollo guisado y arroz" she asked you. "that sounds really yummy, thank you" you answered. miles came back from his room and shared his own plate along with you guys' and you all sat at their dining table. you sat in the chair that you figured was his dad's and you found yourself growing a little sorry.
you took a bite of your food and your face twisted in delight. "oh this is so good, been too long since i had good home food" you admitted, taking another bite. "thank you sweetie" her face softened with a sorrowful look. she'd heard about your mom after miles explained why he ditched school and why she got a call from some man telling her he was kissing his daughter.
"your house is really nice by the way, i love the feel of it it's so pretty" you told her. "ahhh you're gonna give me a big head, thank you bonita" she smiled at you. you looked up and saw a picture of miles sitting on the wall ledge when he was a toddler, mean mug on his face. "awww is that you?" you asked him, pointing to the picture. he looked at where you were pointing and smiled a little before nodding his head. "ahhh you're so adorablee" you said in a baby voice. he looked at you and you continued "and you still got that same mug" you joked, poking his cheek.
rio began sharing stories of miles when he was a kid and how stubborn he was. how he would test his parents' patience even though he knew they didn't play like that. she pulled out her phone and opened an album she had dedicated to miles and gave you to scroll through. you giggled at how cute and silly he was, but he did not seem amused. a video popped up of rio recording jeff throwing a small miles in the air and telling him how much he loved him. the air grew a little somber and rio cleared her throat "um don't you guys have a project or something, i don't wanna keep you waiting all night" she said picking up the plates.
"uh i can help wash up" you offered. "no, está bien. go hang out and do your work." she smiled. you followed miles to his room and looked around at his choice of decor. his bed sheets were a plain black, not much decorations on his wall except for a few rappers and album covers. he had a desk by his window and a mirror on the side of it. on his desk sat a laptop, notebooks, a lamp, pictures of his mom and dad and a sketchbook off to the side. it was open to you decided to be nosy and move closer to take a peek.
your eyes jumped a little bit when you saw what was an unfinished drawing of your face mid smile. "is this meee?" you picked it up and turned the page back one. this time it was multiple sketches of you from different angles. he moved to pull the book out of your hand and you gave him an awkward smile. "someone's obsessed. am i your muse?" you teased him. he closed the notebook and hid a smile shaking his head, "you are mad nosy" he told you. "draw me like one of your french girls, miles" you teased him some more.
you looked at his posters "frank, tupac, okay tasteee" you said. you continued looking around the room but he didn't seem too bothered by it considering he was sat on his bed just watching you. you looked a little through his shelves, checking out his book collection "i didn't know you read, scholar" you said, taking one down to read it. when you did that, something fell to the floor. miles jumped up to stop you from picking it up when he realized what it was. your smile dropped when you saw the mask you'd just encountered the night before.
"wait what is this?" you asked, tone a little more serious. "listen" was all he got out before you kept going. "don't tell me you're..." you looked at the mask and then back at him, mouth dropping as you made the connection. "ohh don't tell me you're the prowler!" you got a little louder and he slapped a hand over your mouth. "would you hush?! my mom doesn't need to know" he whisper yelled. you stuck your tongue out to lick his hand and he pulled it off you wiping your spit in his sweats. "well that's a really fucking dumb hiding spot!" you yelled back in a whisper.
"miles, you are the prowler??" you asked holding the mask in your. he looked away from your eyes before letting out a sigh and nodding his head "you cannot tell anybody" he pointed a finger to you . "aren't you literally killing people and stuff?? how could you do all of that?!" you argued in a hushed tone. "listen, you don't get it alright? im doing this to help my situation out so don't be coming up in here and judging me!" he argued back.
you sympathized with him a bit before biting back "but you're killing people, oh my fucking god you killed that man last night!" "i was doing that for you! stop fucking walking by yourself at night by the way" he said back to you.
"when did i ask you to do that for me?" you pointed a finger to your chest. "y/n don't you get it. i would do anything for you" he was getting desperate, moving closer to you. "what?" you furrowed your eyebrows. "there's not a line in the world that i wouldn't cross for you." he grabbed your hands. you didn't know what to say next. the tension was so high and you two just looked at each other.
he leaned in and pressed his lips against yours, the force pushing you back into his shelf. his hands moved to your waist and your arms crossed behind his neck, deepening the kiss. he pushed his knee between your legs and your breath hitched in your throat. rio opened the door coming into the room "miles gonzalo morales, no hanky panky! you have work to do. ¡puerta abierta!" she shouted before leaving. your heart sank in your chest and you took a deep breath before looking back into his eyes.
"right that's why i came here. didn't come here to argue with you, think i'm gonna leave now" you said moving past him to your bookbag. "don't. i can still help you, i could write it for you if you want" he tried to stop you. you pushed your feelings down, you do still need his help, you could be mad at him later.
you spent the next thirty minutes searching through your textbook for information and typed it while miles looked up formulas and concepts.  you groaned and threw your head back on his pillows. "ey i told you i coulda just wrote it for you, you wanted to be stubborn. ahora haz el trabajo" he told you. you only whined in response before staying silent with your thoughts.
"why are you doing it?" you spoke up. "what?" he furrowed his eyebrows. "the whole prowler thing" "i told you. to help my situation out" he shrugged. you got up on your elbows "no but like why?" he sighed and rolled his eyes
"i do it to help my mom out. she keeps taking mad shifts at the hospital and no matter how much she tells me not to worry, i do. i don't wanna see her stressing herself out like that, it's not fair. so me and my uncle help her out, he was the one who had told me he was the prowler and then i took over but now he just helps me out. and listen i'm not killing people like that. i know what the news says about me and i've only really touched like three people, plus that guy last night. and if i do kill someone it's never innocent people." he explained.
"so like a vigilante typa thing?" you asked him. "i don't know maybe. probably not the good kind though. " he chuckled, feeling a little sorry. you sat and listened to everything he had to say "i know i'm not innocent either, not anymore. but i'm not gonna stop till things are right for us again. i really hope you can understand?" he asked you. you thought for a second before nodding your head. "i don't even know why i'm telling you all that, you not an opp right?" he raised an eyebrow at you. "no, please i could never" you giggled.
he leaned so his face was close enough that you could feel each other's soft breathing while you looked into each other's eyes. he pressed his lips against yours, loving the way your soft lips felt against his. the kiss was softer this time, different from the one before. he put his hands on each side of your jaw.
he moved to line kisses down your neck and you reveled in the feeling it gave you. you bit your bottom lip and put your fingers in his hair before you caught yourself. "wait" you pushed him back a little "your mom said no hanky panky" you mimicked her with a giggle. "so?" he said moving back to your lips. "so..your door is literally open and she's in the room next door" you told him. he moved back to your lips "i can close it" you kissed back for another minute before pulling away again.
"i have a paper to finish" you licked your lips and you could still taste him on you. he helped you finish your writing and after about an hour and a half you clapped, glad to be done. his mom poked her head through the door "mijo, it's getting late. think it's time y/n head home?" she asked the two of you. you both frowned a little bit but you figured it was pretty late and nod your head "yeah okay, we finished up anyways" you smiled at her. you packed your stuff in your bag and miles shoved his feet in his uggs.
"you're coming?" you furrowed your eyebrows. "duh. don't think i'm letting you walk by yourself" there was so much sass in his voice you had to laugh. "alright nigga relax" you giggled.
"have a good night sweetie" rio called out to you from the couch. "you too, mrs morales" you smiled and waved. miles opened the door and followed behind you.
the two of you walked down the few blocks in comfortable silence side by side. miles copied the speed you walked and made his feet match yours in sync. "thanks for helping me by the way. i deadass wouldn't have finished this until probably second period on monday" you told him. "and that's why your ass was pushing a D" he joked with you.
you got to the outside of your apartment building and said your goodbyes, you gave him a kiss on the cheek and entered the building, heading up to your apartment. you showered and went to lay down with a lot to think about.

June part i
~
Hope you all enjoy! Maybe all of Finn's superstitions in this chapter can go towards helping me beat this cold I've got...
Also, it's beginning to look a lot like ficmas...doo doo doo doo doo...:)
~
Ain’t it funny how I’ve wanted this all my life?
It started with a no look pass. That’s when Remus felt the buzz. Sirius had nearly put one in from James, who had kept his eyes straight ahead, drawing Saint’s attention. And it had almost worked. At least it had brought the promising feeling of a win. The click of the team. Remus shouldn’t be thinking like that. They were six minutes away from the first period's horn and this game changed at the drop of a hat. Logan had collided with Kota at one point, and there was something there now. Quiet hostility. A they were mine first type of deal. Remus could see it all over Logan’s face, no matter how much Kota loomed over him.
Now the Rangers had a high sticking penalty. Remus took his mouth guard out as the whistle blew and shoved it into his glove. Sirius was on the other side of the ice, on the tail of one of the referees and talking a mile a minute, gesturing to James and his bloody lip. There was a kid at the glass just behind him with a sign that said Nuts for Knutty! and he was still clutching the puck Leo had thrown him earlier. Remus almost wished the game would just pause for a moment so he could take it in properly. If this was to be the last game of his first season in the NHL, he wanted to remember it.
“Ouch,” Remus said to James as they circled close for the face-off.
“You bet,” James said, dabbing at his mouth.
Coach kept him on for the penalty kill. Sirius faced off against Zibanejad and Remus darted backwards when he won it. It had that game six feeling: All of them just wanting it to be over already, the slog of knowing that, if the Lions wanted it to go their way, they had one more full game stretch after this one to push through. Maybe more. Play-offs meant there was no over-time, and no shoot-out, just endless periods until someone gave in.
The puck was stuck in their zone and Thomas was beginning to look gassed. Kasey was up in the net, shifting with every ebb and flow of the Rangers’ passing. Remus poked the puck out from Kakko’s grasp and hoped it was clean—he’d nearly felt like he’d hooked it, but the whistle didn’t go. He managed to get it out of the zone and saw Thomas and Olli race off towards the bench gratefully.
He and Sirius didn’t say anything once they were seated next to each other, just caught their breath and watched. Pascal delivered a sound slap-shot, but it went just wide. Logan got the rebound, easy, and sent it to Fox. The horn went just before they put anything real together.
“D’accord,” Sirius said, tapping Remus’ thigh. “We’re not good, but we’re not bad.”
“What an endorsement.”
Remus handed off his gloves off to be dried as they walked down the tunnel. He could hear fans shouting their names as they passed by the glass that looked into the VIP lounge. There was a small girl standing there in a BLACK jersey. Remus watched as Sirius smiled down at her and touched his glove to the glass. The girl grinned and a woman who Remus thought must be her mother promptly burst into tears.
“Jesus.” Thomas laughed from behind him.
“Just me, actually,” Sirius said, and Thomas shoved him.
The locker room already had music playing so Remus guessed that Coach had decided to let them be, or perhaps Sirius had requested a players only break. Remus sat back in his stall and yanked his helmet off. He cut through the beat up tape of his stick with a short blade and sent a look towards Leo, who had a towel around his neck. He was leaned in close to Kasey, who was talking quietly to him.
“Kind of thought Coach was going to say something,” Thomas said. “Is Cap…”
“I didn’t hear him ask,” Remus said, but looked towards Sirius. He was glancing towards the door, too. It opened, and Remus expected Arthur or one of the assistants, but to his surprise, Alex O’Hara slipped through. He was in full gear, only a backwards hat replacing his helmet.
“Oh,” Remus breathed. He looked towards Kasey and Leo. Oh.
“What the hell,” Thomas said. He opened his mouth, obviously ready to shout something at Alex, but Remus put a hand on his thigh to stop him. Thomas looked over at him. “What?”
Kasey had already seen Alex and Remus watched his chest rise and fall in a quick, uneven breath. He put a hand on Leo’s knee, gave him a short smile, and then stood just as Alex reached him. Alex put a hand on his waist, but they said nothing. Kasey simply held his gaze for a long moment, and then turned to the room.
Oh.
“Hey, boys,” Kasey said, voice raised. “Boys, can I…” He’d taken some of his padding off, his hair pushed back from his face. “Can I talk for a second?”
It took everyone a moment to quiet down. They were a little surprised, maybe. Kasey wasn’t one to make speeches, even if it was a players only meeting, but he walked slowly to the center of the locker room.
“Sorry,” he smiled, but it was shaky. “I know we’re all focused on the W. I’ll be quick.”
“Don’t worry, Bliz. What’s up?” Sirius said, and Remus saw that his gray eyes were already somber. They darted to Remus’. If Remus had to guess, Kasey had asked Sirius to keep the room clear for him. Maybe even to have someone get Alex.
“Well. Thanks, Cap.” He looked around at them all. “Look, I know our season’s not over, boys, but I just wanted to say…God.” Kasey cleared his throat, looked down so his hair fell back into his face some. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay, Kase,” Alex said softly from just behind him.
Remus couldn’t describe how difficult it was, watching Kasey, Kasey of all people, get choked up. Watch him work to speak around tears. He watched some of the others realize what was probably about to happen. Thomas’ face fell. Leo stood, like he was going to go to Kasey.
“There, uh,” Kasey cleared his throat, tried for a smile. “There isn’t much I love more than you guys. Really. These years have just been the best of my life.”
“Bliz…” James breathed, took a step forward. The realization was slow around the room, but it was there. This had been in the air for so long that it felt strange to see it properly.
“Really, they have.” Kasey said. “I mean…God, lock me in this room, see if I put up a fight. I won’t. But. But it’s not good for me. I don’t want out of this game, I really don’t, I just—my body can’t do it anymore, boys. And I have to see that. I have to respect it.”
Remus put a hand to his chest. It was the strangest thing, he couldn’t remember ever having any sort of conversation like this one with his college teammates. Sometimes, he thought he had forced himself to forget moments from that time. Pushed them out of his mind. Now, he tried to remember. He tried to think of saying goodbye, or good game, or even being in the locker room with his sling. He couldn’t remember, but he wanted to help Kasey and so he tried. All that came was a blur of pain and dark rooms and a young, young Julian.
“I just…I have a feeling that…” Kasey wiped at his eyes. “Fuck. I know I shouldn’t have done this in the middle of a fucking—elimination game, oh my God.” It drew a small laugh out of most of the team. “You know, this isn’t gonna be our final game of the season, no fucking way, but it could be mine because it’s hard out there and—” His voice pitched up and he cleared his throat. “And I didn’t want it to happen, I didn’t want it to end, without everyone knowing, which is probably—maybe at one point in my life I would’ve called that selfish but I don’t think it is now.”
And then Leo was at his side, hand on his shoulder. He was crying, too, blue eyes vivid.
Kasey smiled and wrapped an arm around him. “And look whose fucking hands you’re in, all right? You’re good as golden.”
There was a heartbeat of silence. No one seemed to know what to say. Leo hugged Kasey, eyes closed and fisting the back of his jersey. Sirius walked forward next, and it seemed to break the spell.
“Don’t tempt me about locking you in here, Bliz,” Thomas said as he strode forward. “I just might do it.”
Kasey laughed as Thomas pulled him into a tight hug. He thumped Kasey on the back. “You going back out with us, right?”
“I want to,” Kasey said. “I think I can.”
“We’ll get this for you,” Sirius said. He put a hand on Kasey’s shoulder. “This is still yours, all of it. No matter what. You know that.”
Kasey looked at Sirius for a long moment. “Cap. Thank you. I don’t think my career would be the same without you.”
Sirius brow drew together and he shook his head. “Non. It’s all you, man.”
His eyes went behind Sirius. “And Dumo…” He pressed his lips together, unable to finish. “I…You’re…”
“Bliz,” Pascal smiled softly. “I’m probably not too far behind you in this case. I know that.”
Remus walked forward and put a hand on Sirius’ back.
“All I can say is that it’s an honor to play with you at our backs,” Pascal said.
Someone let out a whoop, and then they room was sort of clapping, sort of crying, and at least one strand of tension broke.
“I’m feeling a group hug,” Thomas said. “No, Cap, don’t pull that look on me. C’mon. Everyone, get your ass up.”
Remus couldn’t help but laugh, tearful as it was as he let Sirius wrap him up on one side, Thomas on the other. Timmy, Olli, Kota, Leo, Kris, Pascal.
There was a little jostle after a moment as a final person enthusiastically joined.
“Alex,” Pascal said without opening his eyes. “You should absolutely be here, but get your elimination game Ranger blue out of our hug.”
“My bad.”
~
Finn didn’t like being home alone. He didn’t like that he couldn’t watch the game. He didn’t like saying goodbye to Leo and Logan, knowing they weren’t going to the same place—or even if they were, to different teams. He wanted to be in the room. He wanted to play, he wanted the burn of his muscles. He wanted to press his shoulder up against Logan’s, or Alex’s, he wanted to defend Kasey and fight anything that even touched Leo.
Instead he was sitting on the couch with all the lights off and the shades down, listening to the crackle of the radio broadcast come from his computer with the screen turned away from him. He was waiting for period two to start, not in the tunnel to the ice, but when a a plate of what felt like the first truly solid food he’d eaten in weeks. Logan had given him a big kiss when he’d asked for Leo’s spicy chicken and rice burritos. Leo and hummed away happily in the kitchen making them and served him one with a gentle kiss to his forehead.
Okay, being taken care of wasn’t that hard.
His phone rang and he knew it was his mom without having to check.
“Hi,” he said around a mouthful, flipping the screen down towards the couch.
“Hi, baby. Just checking in. Fast game, huh? You doing okay? Eating dinner?”
“Mhm, I’m good. I mean—you know. As good as I can be. Listening.”
“Aw, sweetheart. I know.” He could hear the buzz of the stadium behind her, picked out Natalie’s laugh. “I know this isn’t how you pictured it at all.”
Finn sat back against the couch. “Yeah. Did you see Al?”
“For a second before the game. And Logan. He said that if we talk to you during the game to say he loves you.”
Finn smiled. “Mm. Good. How’s Leo looking on the bench?”
“Oh, they showed just the cutest shot of him like a little turtle—well, no a very tall turtle, with his mouth and nose in his jersey. But he seems good. Kasey seems good, too. He’s made some incredible saves.”
“They sound incredible,” Finn said. “Got your whiskey?”
She laughed. “Oh, you know it. Oh, baby, we’re starting. Gotta go, but I love you very much all right? Your dad, says so, too.”
“Love ya, bud!” came his dad’s voice from a little farther away.
Finn, honestly, felt a little choked up. He blinked the tears away and looked around the dim room. They would only make his head ache. “Love you guys, too.”
He heard the phone disconnect and rested his head back against the couch, suddenly not so hungry anymore. He wrapped his plate up for later and squinted an eye shut at the bright refrigerator light. He put the kettle on—could nothing be easy while using one hand?—and steeped some mint tea. When he came back to the couch, throwing a blanket over his legs, the commercials were over.
No, let’s be honest, if Kasey Winter hadn’t made those saves in the first—I don’t know where the Lions would be right now. Sitting in their dressing room and making fucking long summer plans, that’s for sure. Instead, this is a close game, a competitive game, and most importantly, both teams are still in the game.
I agree with you, Matt. Let’s go to the bench now, for an interview with Rangers’ Logan Tremblay.
“Oh, hi, baby,” Finn said softly.
Thanks, Matt. This is Cassie Baker here with Logan Tremblay—
Finn sat bolt upright. He knew—He knew that voice. Cassie. God. Cassie fucking Baker.
Logan, how do you think this period is going to shape up based on how aggressive that first period was so far?
“Holy fuck.” Finn couldn’t help but laugh. “Holy fuck?”
To Logan’s credit, he sounded just as shocked, as if he’d simply turned around and found Cassie there waiting for him. Cassie Baker. Finn remembered bouncing blonde curls and that god-damn Greek temple of the girl’s sorority house at school. Logan kissing her neck in the hallway. Harz, can we have the room for a bit? Coming back from a cancelled class and hearing—
Finn put a hand over his mouth and laughed again. “Okay. Oh man.”
I think we are two teams that want this badly, Logan was saying. Oh, he sounded so good. It’s going to be a fight, but hopefully entertaining for the fans.
How does it feel to possibly have the chance to eliminate your old team?
“Oh no,” Finn let himself fall sideways into the couch, right onto his shoulder. “Fuck.”
Logan’s laugh, disbelieving, still surprised, filled the room. Um. Intense.
Thanks for the time.
I—thanks.
Finn sat back up, holding his shoulder. Never had he ever wanted to talk to them more. He wanted to see Logan’s face. He wanted to see Leo with his chin tucked down against his chest. He didn’t want Leo sitting on the bench alone all game, watching the others work.
Zibanejad and Black on the face-off. The Rangers have a majority of these under their belts now, but Black wins in and it’s knocked back to Lupin. Remus Lupin, quite the surprise, the secret weapon, there are Olympic rumors, and Walker brings it right to the net—and scores! Oh, this game finally has some action!
“That makes one of us,” Finn said aloud to the room. He wasn’t sure he usually talked to himself this much. Maybe it was only that he couldn’t actually remember the last time he’d been alone. The hospital room, he guessed, but even that had been for mere minutes, not hours. He tugged the blanket farther up his chest and pressed his nose into his sweatshirt. Leo’s. He held his mug close to his face. The mint. Logan’s.
Dumais to Reyes, oh, in a near miss! It’s pitched out of the zone by Fox and picked up again by Goodrow—
Finn winced as the thought that he didn’t care who won the game filtered into his mind. He just wanted them to come home.
~
Luke caught onto Logan’s look the second he was sat back on the bench, breathing hard.
“What,” Luke said. “What the fuck’s that look?”
Logan wasn’t sure where to begin. He risked another glance towards the ice tunnel. Cassie was standing there with the cameraman. She looked the same. Her hair was a shiny dark blonde, blue eyes bright, forget-me-not. She carried herself the same. She was talking fast to the cameraman, directing him with her hand that wasn’t holding her microphone. Confident. Easy. She dressed differently. Smart, well-tailored navy suit that made her short frame look taller. Their eyes met, and she sent him another nervous smile.
“Fuck,” Logan said. He flashed a quick one back and turned away.
“What?” Luke asked.
Paul, Rangers PR, had said nothing more than, Tremblay, you’re ESPN’s interview and then Logan had looked up to find…
Hi, Logan. Yeah, probably should’ve warned you a little better… It’s been a while.
Luke punched him in the arm. “Logan.”
“Ex-girlfriend.” Logan swallowed.
“Girlfriend?” Alex asked, perking up. “You, girlfriend?”
“Ouais.”
“Oh my God, show me.”
“The ESPN reporter.” Luke and Alex both whipped their heads around and Logan closed his eyes. “Don’t look.”
Alex ignored him. “The blonde?”
“She’s cute,” Luke said.
“Stop looking.”
“Didn’t she just interview you?” Alex asked.
“Yes.”
“Did you know?”
“Obviously not,” Luke said. “Dude, you look fucking rattled, what did she do to you?”
Logan didn’t really want to think on it now. They had been good. Happy. For months, really. But she hadn’t had all of him, and she’d figured that much out quickly, if not who the rest of his heart was with.
“It’s more… It’s more what I did to her.” Logan shared a glance with Alex. “Or what I felt like I did to her.”
“Huh,” Luke said. “This is transcending bench talk.”
“Ooh,” Alex said. “Big word.”
“Fuck off.” Luke smiled a little, though. “Can you play with your ex-girlfriend watching, Tremzy?”
Logan hit Luke’s helmet with his stick. “Fuck off.”
Alex snorted as he pushed off the bench with Logan when Coach tapped their shoulders. “Are we gonna talk about the Leo Knut tendencies you seem to have always possessed?”
“Big word.” Logan shoved him so hard that he actually fell over, laughing all the way down. That was sure to be on Twitter somewhere later.
~
And Tremblay shoves O’Hara down. Laughing. Wonder what was so funny.
Finn sighed. “You and me both, bud.”
~
“Dev!”
Logan caught Luke’s back-pass and found himself trapped in the corner with Pascal, the puck between their two stick blades. Logan laughed a little, thought he heard Pascal do the same, but it was over too quickly to say anything. Logan knocked it out to Luke again who drew his stick right back and slammed it towards the goal. Kasey lunged for it, the odd, acute angle, but it went right under his glove.
“Yeah!” Logan put his hands up with a grin. He tried not to look at Pascal out of the corner of his eye.
He tapped his glove to Luke’s helmet when he skated into the celly, Percy slamming into their other side.
“Fucking finally, eh,” Percy shouted. He bumped his fist against Luke’s chest, then Logan’s. “Killer pass. Gorgeous.”
There was a buzzing in Logan’s ears. The crowd. Faces that were familiar but not from now. It was like someone had put a filter over his life and all the colors were different. His eyes found Leo on the bench. He was watching the replay on the big screen.
With ten minutes left in the second period, it did feel right that they had finally scored. Tied up, one-one. Logan skated to the bench and hauled himself over it, watching Panarin’s line go out.
He squirted water down the back of his neck and hit Luke’s thigh. “Good.”
“Yeah, well.” Luke wiped his visor clean with a towel. “Let’s just try and keep it up and end this round.”
Logan didn’t say anything. There was that feeling again. The one he couldn’t quite admit to himself. It was real once this round was over—or even realer than it was now. He wasn’t a Lion anymore. He was someone who ended the Lions’ season.
Panarin’s shot went wide twice and Trouba shot one over Kasey’s shoulder that got overturned for interference. Kasey stood with his back to the ice while the referees reviewed it. He had his helmet up and his water bottle in hand, but he didn’t drink. Logan knew Alex had gone into the Lions’ room. He knew what Kasey had announced. He wished he had been there. He wished he had known before Alex went so he could come. Kasey might not be on his team anymore, but he was still Kasey. He had wanted to stand next to Leo and hold his hand.
Six minutes left in the second. 1-1.
Logan jumped the boards right as the puck soared into the netting above the glass and the whistle went. Logan headed towards the Lions’ zone, but stopped when no one else did. He looked around.
“What’s up?” asked Will.
“I don’t know,” Logan said, frowning as Coach Arthur held up a T with his hands and Kasey started skating towards the bench. “They’re calling a time out.”
~
“Come on,” Finn said aloud to the dark room. “Come on.”
The more time went by, the more superstitious he seemed to get. He kept switching up his position on the couch. He’d even taken the computer into the kitchen while he finished his dinner, hoping they might have more luck if he was in a different room. He was putting his plate in the dishwasher when—
And looks like Leo Knut is taking Kasey Winter’s place in goal for the second game in a row.
Finn turned. “Le.”
Why the sudden switch, we’ll have to wait and see but one could only guess that it has something to do with Kasey Winter’s injury struggles this season. Well, recent seasons, I should say. I gotta feel for the guy, he’s one hell of a goalie.
Finn shut the dishwasher with a beep and cursed. As the final minutes of the second period wound down, he tried to picture Leo there. Wary of Logan. Trying to forget that it was Logan. Just number 71.
Tremblay with a high shot. Finn closed his eyes. —Goes wide of Knut. Kakko picks it up.
Finn listened to the third leaning against the kitchen island with his fingers against his lips. Waiting to hear Logan’s name, or Leo’s. LoganLeoLoganLeo, forced to go against each other.
Instead, it felt like all he heard was Remus’.
Lupin has had ten shots on goal alone in these last two periods. None of them have gone in mind you, but that fact is impressive and—oh that’s from Walker straight to Lupin’s tape and carrying, carrying, back to Walker, no look—and he scores! Remus Lupin with a five-hole on a beauty of a no looker from Thomas Walker! He brings it up to 2-1 Lions.
“Yeah!” Finn shouted, rising to his feet. “Fuck yes!”
He wanted to turn on the TV. He wanted to see. He wanted to watch them celebrate, he wanted to skate across the ice and hug Remus because he would have been on the line. He would have. He could have helped.
“Fucking sling,” Finn whispered, tugging at the elastic strap. Most of tea had long gone cold, and he wanted a popsicle to suck on and dull out the ache in his head a little. Or, really, he wanted to close his eyes and go to sleep but he couldn’t do that. Not before the game was through. It was only 9:30 for fuck sake. Though he did find himself wishing that it wouldn’t go to any OT periods. If he stayed standing he’d stay awake.
He paced to the window as the puck battled between zones. Logan was feisty tonight. He’d come close to blows with Kota twice it sounded like. The Rangers went up on a power play when Kota tripped Logan and Finn nearly cheered before remembering that it was the Rangers. Finn walked around the couch as the whistle blew for another Rangers icing. Whoever kept dumping was only doing the Lions a favor.
“C’mon,” Finn mumbled. “I’m tired and I miss you, c’mon.”
Logan on power play one. Logan, Alex. Back to Logan. Finn was too tense, he really wasn’t supposed to be this tense, he was supposed to be firmly relaxing. But Leo. God, Logan and Alex in front of Leo’s net, glove save against Alex, Logan’s shot going wide. Logan was pulling back, Finn could feel it. He was trying, trying, and then seeing Leo. And he was going to get so much shit for it. Finn sat down, rubbed at the back of his neck.
“Fuck,” he whispered. “Fuck, fuck, fuck.”
He should have been praying for a win, but he was praying for this game to be over.
O’Hara to Tremblay, back to O’Hara—and he scores!
“Yeah!” Finn said then cursed. “I mean, no.” He groaned. He had to stop doing that. “Fuck.”
Alex O’Hara with a very clean tip-in off of an assist from Tremblay, Knut didn’t have a chance. 2-2 now this is a tight game and the scoring has picked up tremendously. The puck drops Jesus Christ, Lupin again! Christ almighty! Lupin again! Right off the face-off! 3-2 Lions!
“Loops!” Finn stood and laughed through the word. They were ahead now. God, the announcer was rambling, the pile up on the ice must be insane, celebrating. There was a short enough amount of time that this could be it, it could be, especially with the crowd the way it was, God, Finn could hear it, he could see it, even if he couldn’t. The pounding of hands on the glass and his teammates shouting right beside him. The way Thomas and Evgeni jumped up and down, making the bench rattle.
There was three minutes to go. They were ahead, and Logan was trying. God, Finn could feel him. The way he moved, the way he breathed. He’d spent his entire career watching him, waiting for him, tracking him even when he couldn’t see him. Catch a pass, catch a mistake. Finish a goal, pretty or dirty. Alex was trying his best but twice they’d gotten their pocket picked by Sirius and it made Finn hide a smile. No one could play with Logan as well as him.
It didn’t stop him from scoring though. Of course it didn’t.
That is one slick wrap-around by Tremblay.
Finn closed his eyes. He wanted that highlight. He wanted it bad.
Knut didn’t look like he even knew where the puck was.
Finn put his head in his hands. He could hear the celebration. “Le. Aw, baby, it’s okay, it’s okay…”
The Rangers even it up again with forty-six seconds on the clock. Oh, the Lions don’t like that. Arthur Weasley doesn’t like that, but he’s used his timeout. Gryffindor will have to figure something out.
“Come on,” Finn whispered. “Come on, boys…”
It was a blur of phrases and images playing behind his closed eyes.
God, impossible save by Knut! He’s gonna get famous for that poke-check of his, we saw it last play-offs, and look’s like we’ll be seeing more of it—
Finn wanted to be there to scoop the puck up from Leo’s waiting stick, clear of the blue paint. He wanted to feel Leo at his back, defending him, letting him risk a more risky pass.
The clock had to be dangerously low now and Finn’s head ached with how he was squeezing his eyes shut, but he couldn’t help it. He was so tired.
Knocked away by Knut, hard shot by Trouba—
“Good.” Finn whispered, thumb nail between his teeth. “Good, Le…”
What a take away by Black and he’s going—Lupin catches up with him and it’s two on one, Black and Lupin against Luke Deveaux—Black sends it over to Lupin, Lupin back to Black, and a third time—GOAL! Goal! Goal!
Finn shouted. There weren’t any words in it, but a sheer sound of relief and joy.
Lupin with the hat trick! Hat trick! With twelve seconds on the clock! Twelve seconds! Three goals all scored within—Jesus, how long?—that’s insane, that is just magnificent, insane—
~
Remus heard the crowd. Deep, collective—for a split second, he thought they were booing. But then he pieced it together, right as Sirius slammed into his chest and shouted right in his ear. Not boos.
Loops.
~
My God, Remus Lupin is on fire tonight. God, what a shot! What a shot, this place is going wild. This place is on its feet because the Lions are going to a game seven. I repeat, the Gryffindor Lions are taking the New York Rangers to a game seven—
~
Long, drawn out, Loops and then reorganizing into a chant, and then dissolving into cheers. Hats showered them. Completely, it felt like. Raining, pouring, drenching the ice in hats. So many Remus wondered how all of them made it to the ice. He couldn’t stop laughing. He thought maybe he was crying a little.
“Game winner!” Thomas was shouting. “Game fucking winner, fucking winner, fucking natty hatty, oh fuck, Remus!”
“Jesus, what’s in your water, Lupin!” Percy Marshall shouted from near Saint’s goal.
He just looked up at Sirius. Sirius laughed and then ducked down and kissed Remus’ cheek—or tried, but it was really just their visors knocking together. “I love you. I love you, love you, I love you so much—”
“Julian,” Remus said. “You think Jules saw?”
Sirius just pressed their visors together, while Thomas all but crowed to the sky. “Yeah, baby, Jules saw.”
Remus looked up towards the Lions box as he skated towards the bench, as he skated down the line tapping gloves. He couldn’t see much, but he would have been able to pick out that wildly jumping figure any place, any time.
~
Logan went looking for Cassie. He wouldn’t deny it. He smoothed his wet hair back from his face and tugged at his tie. He smiled shakily at a few members of the press who passed him on their way to the pressroom to write their stories. Post-game interviews had been rough. You guys could have had it, what will you do differently to pull through next game?
It was a fairly normal question. Definitely expected. The hard part, Logan guessed, was answering it truthfully—even to himself. Pulling through meant taking the Lions out, and Logan couldn’t think about that too hard.
But even worse: You seemed to have…bad puck luck when Knut came into goal. What do you think happened?
Logan could have punched the guy who asked that. He’d stared at him hard enough to make him take a step back anyway.
“Tremzy!”
Logan turned fast. Katie, flying towards him full-force, in Rangers blue with TREMBLAY on her back. Pascal had sent him the video—Katie bawling her eyes out and refusing to move until the removed her father’s jersey and gave her a Tremblay one.
Pascal wasn’t too far behind her and grinned as Logan caught Katie up in his arms.
“Salut, Petit. Oh, what are you wearing?” Logan propped her on his hip and pressed a kiss to her cheek. “Is that all for me?”
She patted his tie. “You didn’t win. Papa won.”
“C’est une tragédie, apparently,” Pascal said. “We cannot go home until she finds you, you know.”
“Non, me neither.” Logan smiled at him and tilted his and Katie’s heads together. He switched to French. “I need my little cabbage fix before dinner…”
Katie shrieked out a laugh, knowing what was coming, and Logan dipped her upside down to kiss her cheek with nom noises before bringing her upright again.
“Didn’t you like the Lions hat trick? All the hats on the ice.”
Katie shook her head, brandishing the wrist with her charm bracelet at him like a sword. “Non. I like when you get goals.”
“Ouch,” Pascal said wryly.
Katie put a hand on top of Logan’s head. “Is Harzy okay?”
“Ouais,” Logan said. “He’s doing much better. He misses you.”
“Where’s Leo?”
“I’m going to find him right now.”
She squished Logan’s cheeks between her small palms. “Does he have banana bread?”
“Not with him, I don’t think.”
Katie frowned. “Oh.” Then, she promptly squeezed her arms around his neck and put her head on his shoulder. “I love you.”
“Aw,” Logan said. “I love you, too.”
Pascal mouthed, she’s going to fall asleep, and Logan nodded, half-sure that she already was. He put a hand on her back. She was so warm, so delicate in his arms. He used to be afraid of that, holding onto her too hard. “Past your bedtime, hm?”
They stood silently in the hallway together for a moment. Logan thought of the warm living room at the Dumais house. The boys muting their video game on the TV. Katie sleeping against his chest. Noelle passing him embroidery floss colors to pick out so she could make him a bracelet.
“I don’t think I’ll get used to seeing you in blue,” Pascal said softly, stroking back Katie’s hair, then, after a moment of hesitation, mussing Logan’s gently.
“Me neither,” Logan replied roughly. God, how many homes could one person be homesick for at once?
“No matter what happens next game,” Pascal said. “We love you. You know that, right?”
“Ouais.”
“You won’t beat yourself up.”
“Non.” He sighed. “Well, not too bad. I’m worried about Leo.” He sighed. He had to tell someone. “It’s been hard. This, Finn, Kasey…”
“Archer,” Pascal finished hesitantly.
“Logan?” said a voice.
Logan looked to see Cassie at the other end of the hallway. She gave him a small wave, looking uncertain as to whether she should approach or not.
“Ah,” Pascal said. “I thought you knew her.”
“Quoi.” He smiled back at her, held up a finger. One second.
“You looked, ah, how did Sirius put it…Freaked.”
“I’m not.”
“Here,” Pascal said, reaching out for Katie.
“Wait, wait, wait—” Logan began to say, but Pascal just arched a brow.
“You do not need to hold my daughter for every tough conversation you have.”
Logan rolled his eyes, but eased the sleepy Katie into her father’s arms.
“Go talk to a girl. That can’t be too difficult for you.”
“Dumo.”
Pascal just smiled. “Oh, and guess what?”
Logan sighed. His arms felt cold and too light without Katie in them. “What?”
“Leo is going to be okay. You three are going to be fine.”
Pascal touched Logan’s cheek briefly, then turned away, murmuring softly to Katie.
~
“Remus!”
Remus dropped everything he was holding—his glove, a roll of tape, a tennis ball, and his mouth guard—to turn around and get a stumble-inducing hug by his little brother.
“Did you get any of the hats!” Julian asked. “Oh my God!”
“I think they’re in a bunch of buckets somewhere,” Remus said, and held on tighter even when Jules made to pull back. “No, one more second.”
“I have to see Sirius, too!”
“He didn’t get a hat trick.” Remus squeezed Julian until he gasped for air.
“Death by hug,” Julian coughed out, but he squeezed Remus just as tightly back. “It was so cool, Re.”
“Thanks. It felt pretty cool.” He put his hands on Julian’s shoulders and pulled back. “I can get you a hat if you want a hat. Can’t promise to know whose head it was on, though.”
Julian laughed. “I don’t need a hat.” Remus still sort of wanted to get him a hat. He wanted to get Julian anything he could ever possibly want.
Julian shook Remus lightly by his shoulder pads. “Game seven! Did you always think you were going to go to a game seven!”
Remus shrugged, patting his stall for Julian to sit in. “I don’t know if Captain Superstitious over here would have allowed such a thought to cross my mind.”
“Wow,” Sirius said, stripping off his chest pads and grabbing his towel for a shower. “You make me sound insane.”
Julian and Remus shared a look.
“You might be a little.” Julian pinched his fingers. “Tiny bit insane.”
Sirius rolled his eyes, but tussled Julian’s hair before walking away.
“Hey.” Remus nudged his his foot against Julian’s shin. “You okay here for a second if I shower so we can all get some ice cream before it’s after midnight?”
Julian’s eyes lit up—either at the mention of ice cream or at the prospect of being left to his own devices in the locker room.
“Oh, I’ve got him,” Thomas said. He was wearing his suit pants and shrugging on a white button down. “Noelle chose to go see the Rangers so I, too, am abandoned.”
“Oh my God,” Jackson said from beside him. “She said she’d be back in two minutes after seeing her loser brother.”
“Watch it,” Leo called, passing by.
“Two whole minutes.” Thomas tisked. “Nado, I don’t know what to do with myself without that girl around anymore. Copy?”
“Good luck,” Remus said to Julian, and stripped off his own padding to head to the showers.
James was singing—horribly—but Sirius had secured them the two corner showers. Remus’ favorite. The hot water felt good, but Sirius’ gaze on him felt better. Remus smiled as he closed his eyes and tilted his head back to wash his hair.
“I can feel you thinking,” Remus said.
“If we were alone, you could feel—”
“Oh I’m sure.”
“Well, I was thinking about taking you into another private corner but your little brother was looking at me.”
Remus reached for the shampoo. “This is true.” He looked over his shoulder. “I don’t see him anywhere now.”
Sirius sent a pointed look at James and the few other of their teammates showering around them.
“What?” Remus said with a grin. “I just want a kiss.”
Sirius watched him for a moment, and Remus let himself admire the way the water made his dark hair and eyelashes ever darker. The way the droplets made his tan skin shine. Finally, Sirius went so far as to settle a hand on Remus’ bare, wet hip, and kissed his cheek.
“I love you,” Sirius whispered against Remus’ skin.
“I love you, too.”
“The noodles!” Evgeni shouted, ducking beneath a shower head across the room.
“He means canoodle,” Jackson said.
Sirius ignored them. “I want to re-watch that game.”
“Is that all?”
“No. It’ll never be all with you. I’ll always want you more.” Another soft kiss to his temple. “And more, and more.”
~
“You fucker,” Alex said into his phone, wedged between his shoulder and ear as he tied his dress shoes.
“Ha-ha,” Finn replied. “It was all me.”
“Oh, we’ll get your boys next game.” Alex said.
“Will you now?” Finn said. “You sure about that?”
“Pretty damn sure, I’d say. Lupin can’t be that hot every night.”
“Ha, but Sirius Black can.”
“Bleh.” Alex straighten with a sigh. “I hate how true that is.”
“Hey, Al?”
Alex took his phone, switching ears. “Yup?”
There was a bit of a pause, long enough that Alex looked at the screen to make sure that Finn was still there. It made him nearly miss his first couple words.
“If you can,” Finn’s voice said. “Try not to let Lo take any winning shots against Leo.”
Alex’s smile dimmed. His eyes moved over to Kasey, who was leaning against the wall through the locker room doorway with Natalie, waiting for him. She said something with a smile and he nodded in his soft way, playing with the diamond ring on her finger.
“It’ll hurt them both, I think,” Finn finished softly. “Maybe ask Deveaux, too. If you can.”
“I don’t know if I can help that, Finn,” Alex said.
“I know.” Finn’s sigh crackled like wind. “I know. Yeah, I know.”
“Hey,” Alex said. “But I love you, little Fish.”
There was a beat of silence. “All right, I’ll let that slide just this once.”
Alex smiled.
“Love you, too.”
~
“Hi,” Cassie said.
Logan’s words got stuck for a second.
She had taken her suit jacket off and her white shirt underneath was crisp and clean. Logan remembered her in low tank-tops and knee-high boots. His Harvard sweatshirts and tiny cotton shorts, stretching in his bed and going to his window to check if it was raining. Yes, he had loved Finn for most of their time together, but that didn’t mean he hadn’t appreciated Cassie. She was kind and fun and, God, had she ever taught him what he liked. She had been a little wild like that. He had a flash of a steamed up car window, her uneven breathing against his cheek, her hand fisting the hair at the back of his neck.
“I…hi.”
She smiled, then shrugged and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Hi.”
He laughed. “Hi.” She felt the same and he automatically squeezed her waist like he used to. “I—sorry about—I mean on the bench.” They pulled apart. “I was—I wasn’t expecting—”
“No, that’s so on me, I didn’t give you, like, any warning. This is kind of a new promotion for me. I mean, not kind of.” She rolled her eyes, laughing. “It is.”
“Congrats.”
“Thanks.”
“Well—wow, I have to tell Finn.”
“Oh, Finn. I always adored him.”
“He’s good. Uh and, oh, Will and Percy are here, did you…”
“Saw them on the bench, but haven’t gotten to say hi yet.” She tilted her head, teasing. “Didn’t think I was just waiting for you, did you?”
Logan laughed. “Uh, non, definitely not.”
“But it is really good to see you. Really, really good. Seriously, though, is Finn doing okay? That was really hard footage to watch.”
Try being there. “Yeah. He’s—he’s better. He’s getting better. He might be at the next game in New York, if he gets cleared. Not dressed, but, still. Not having to sit in the dark.”
“Right.” Cassie nodded sympathetically. “God, that happened to him in college, didn’t it?”
Twice. Logan nodded. He didn’t expect her to remember. They’d been broken up by the second.
“Well, then I hope I get to say hi.”
Logan wasn’t sure how to talk about Finn with Cassie. She’d broken up with him over Finn, even though she hadn’t known it was Finn at the time. She’d thought it was another girl, just someone else taking up Logan’s attention. By the conflicted look on her face, it looked like she knew now.
“Um.” Cassie tucked her hair behind her ears then crossed her arms. “Listen. This is probably not the time and definitely not the place but I’m not sure—I kind of just have to say this if you don’t mind.” She glanced down the hallway, but they were alone. “I think I was kind of…I know I was hard on you when we broke up…”
Logan shook his head. He swallowed, trying to force the words out quickly. “Non. Non, I don’t think you were hard on me. If anyone was hard on someone, it was me on you. I mean…now you know that…that Finn and I?”
“Were you together then?” she asked, then her eyes widened. “God. No. Jesus, you don’t have to tell me that. That was so rude, wow. I’m sorry.” She laughed a little. “We don’t see each other for years and—”
“We weren’t,” Logan said, but then it was his turn to laugh a bit. “Well—Merde. I mean. We were… We loved each other then. But we…” How to even say it? “We thought we couldn’t.” No, that wasn’t it. “I thought we couldn’t.”
“You seriously don’t owe me an explanation,” Cassie said. “Logan, I was trying to apologize. The second I heard about you and Finn—I mean, I think I just saw a photo of you two on Twitter or something, or Instagram?—but I remembered our fight like it was yesterday and…”
“You thought I was cheating on you. And in a lot of ways you were right. You had ever right to be mad at me.”
“I…I know that now. But I loved you, and I shouldn’t have said all those horrible things.” She let out a breath. “I didn’t mean them. It’s just that I really, really loved you.”
Logan wouldn’t have said any of his heart still belonged to Cassie, but right then it felt like part of it might, in some way. It broke all over again for the two of them. For the quiet mornings and for looking up into the bleachers at games and seeing her there, wearing his sweater. For all the times she’d gone quiet and let him think about what he wanted to say, when she was always so bright and sudden for everyone else.
“Anyway,” she sighed. “I just didn’t know when I would see you again and, you know, knock on wood you’ll be too busy celebrating next game, and I wanted to say that I’m sorry. And that I’m happy for you. You and Finn.”
“I’m sorry, too,” Logan said. “I didn’t deserve you. I was trying to figure me out and…and I feel like I used you but, for the record, I did love you, too. Maybe not like you loved me, but.”
Cassie smiled. “Yeah?”
Logan smiled back. “Ouais.”
“Oh.” Cassie shook her head fondly. “God, I missed your French.”
Logan was laughing when he heard Leo’s voice from behind him.
“Lo?”
Logan turned and found him standing there, handsome in his navy suit. He looked between them hesitantly.
“Le,” Logan held out a hand to him. “Soleil, this is Cassie. Cas, this is my boyfriend, Leo.”
Cassie smiled, then looked alarmed, then smiled again. “Uh. Wait. Um. I mean, hi.”
“There’s two of them,” Logan said and took Leo’s hand. “Finn. Leo.”
“Two?”
“Two.”
Cassie looked between them for a moment, then shrugged. “Jesus, I can’t even find one. You were so great in the third, Leo, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Oh,” Leo said, a little dazed. Logan tried not to watch too closely as Leo looked Cassie up and down. “Well, thanks, pleasure to meet you. How do you two…”
Logan squeezed Leo’s fingers. “Cas and I were at school together—we…well, we…”
“Dated,” Cassie finished for him with a grin. “For a little while. But then again, I never got called the sun by this one so who’s counting it really.”
Leo looked down at Logan and Logan was so proud of the happy look in those blue eyes he could have kissed him. “No?”
“Nope,” Cassie said. “But I can see why you do.”
“Casss-ieee,” came Percy’s voice from behind them, and then the thump of him running down the hall. He didn’t even hesitate, not even when it had been years, before scooping her up in a hug. She shrieked, but let him spin her once and press a kiss to her cheek.
“Oh my God, will you not ever grow up Percy Marshall?”
Percy just grinned at her. His suit was wrinkled, as usual, and he towered over her, but he looked down at her smile like he was looking up to the blue sky. “Not a chance, Cassie Baker. Not with you to impress.”
“It’s been too long since I’ve been subjected to your flirting.”
“Well.” Percy released her and stuck his hands in his pockets. “Who knows. Maybe I really mean it this time.”
Logan felt Leo nudged him, hip against hip, and Logan leaned his head against his shoulder.
“Home?” Leo whispered.
“Ouais.”
Logan thwacked Percy upside the head as they passed by. “See you next game, Cas?”
“Count on it,” Cassie called, and when she wasn’t looking, Percy mouthed Cassie fucking Baker to him over her shoulder with a lovesick expression on his face.
“So, you dated her,” Leo said. He was trying very hard not to smile.
“Oasis,” Logan said. “But…” He reached up as they walked and traced a blond wave of Leo’s hair, then the gray streak. “I was obviously looking for you.”
“You know Hannah looks just like you, right?”
“What? Non.”
Leo laughed. “Logan Tremblay. Look alive, hot stuff—oh.” Leo’s phone pinged. “Gee, wonder who that could be.”
Please come home I talking to myself (sent with Siri)
Also the doctor is emailed I clear for traveled with to you so New York! Sirius send happy emoji no smile emoji no send smile (sent with Siri)
Leo snorted, Logan let out a loud laugh, then they had to take a minute, leaning against each other with silent laughter.
“What’s wrong with you two?” Remus asked as he passed by with Sirius and Julian.
“Sirius,” Logan gasped. “Send smile emoji.”
Leo crouched, hiding his face against Logan’s hip as his shoulders shook.
Sirius just shook his head and tugged on Remus’ hand. “You need to go home.”
“Send smile emoji!” Logan shouted after him.
Sirius just looked back at him. “What the fuck, Tremz.”
“I’ve got him,” Leo laughed, wrapping an arm around Logan’s shoulder. “C’mon, Harz is talking to himself, we better go save him.”
“He always talks to himself.”
“I don’t think he knows that.”
Leo just hummed in agreement. “She seemed nice.”
“She is,” Logan said.
“This is the girl you mean when you say college girlfriend, right?”
“Mhm,” Logan nodded, and took Leo’s hand again as they walked into the stairwell that led to the parking lot. It smelled like summer. Heat and humidity. Leo stripped off his suit jacket to drive and threw it in the back seat with their bags.
When they were turning the engine on, Logan put a hand over Leo’s. “Le.”
Leo looked up from adjusting his mirrors.
Logan took a breath. He wasn’t sure he actually wanted to talk it all through, but maybe it would get easier. Maybe. And he at least had the short drive home to start. “Want me to tell you about it?” Logan asked softly. “Cassie.”
Leo’s lips parted, surprised. His hair was darker, the ends starting to dry from his own shower. He had taken his tie off, too, and his shirt was open at the neck. Logan reached out and touched the indent of the fleur-de-lis necklace beneath his shirt. It had been passed back and forth between them— Finn had been wearing it for a few days there when he was mostly just sleeping and in pain, but Logan supposed at some point, Finn had slipped it over Leo’s neck again.
“Yeah,” Leo said softly. “I’d like that.”
Logan leaned back in his seat as Leo pulled out of their spot. “I met her my very first night as a Freshman. I didn’t know what I was doing, I didn’t even have bed sheets. I had met Fish, là, twenty minutes maybe before. I scared the hell out of him in our room. But you know that, anyway, Cassie saved me from sitting by myself all night…”

Miguel O’Hara Crushing On You
Tumblr media
Pairing: Miguel O’Hara x fem!spider!reader
A/N: just a lil fluff that I felt like writing. Hope you enjoy :)) thinking about doing a holiday fluff series, lmk what you guys think about that. its a lil NFSW but nothing too crazy
He's definitely not going to make it known to you that he has a crush on you.
You two are basically co-workers, and it would be very unprofessional to act on a crush… right?
You were recruited to join the Spider Society only a couple months ago, and ever since Miguel laid eyes on you, he was hooked.
He tried to not make it obvious, he would only steal glances and check you out when he was sure you wouldn’t notice.
He loved to ask you to pick something up for him just to check out your ass.
After some time, he couldn’t help but manipulate situations to bring you closer to him.
He starting assigning you to join him on every mission. He just wanted to get to know you better. You two worked very well together, and he enjoyed your company. He even laughed at your corny jokes and quips, much to the surprise of his other coworkers. He never laughed at corny jokes.
He would offer to train with you, as he had much more experience with the hero thing than you did.
He definitely didn't have any ulterior motives, like wanting to feel your skin against his, and to feel you sweat and pant against him as he pinned you down, even if it was just for a few seconds.
If you get injured on a mission, he will stay by your side the whole time, grumpy and mean because “you should have been more careful!”
He would also bring you a heated blanket and be at your beck and call while you healed.
At first, you brush off his hovering as him just being a tough boss.
But things started to get weird.
As time passes, Miguels affection for you only gets stronger and he struggles to keep his cool.
There was one incident where he caught another Spider-man flirting with you at lunch, arm draped over your shoulder and whispering in your ear, making you giggle.
He glared at you two the entire time, hand squeezing the glass cup in his hand until it broke.
The sound of glass breaking made everyone around him look in his direction, and he just got up and left the cafeteria, embarrassed.
He shut himself in his office all day, thinking he could drown himself in his work to forget about you.
He was unsuccessful of course, he just ended up looking at videos of you.
You were oblivious to his crush on you. You thought he was the hottest man you’ve ever seen, but his cold and standoffish demeanor made you think he merely tolerated you.
You couldn’t be more wrong though, he was absolutely head over heels for you at this point.
There was another embarrassing incident in which you had him pinned during training, legs straddling him and his hands over his head.
You were proud of yourself for finally being able to get the upper hand on him in training, you didn't even notice the boner that was growing beneath you. Miguel quickly made you get off him and stormed off, you thought you hurt his ego by pinning him that way, and you felt bad. So you decided to go to the locker room to apologize.
You approached the door to the mens locker room, lifting your hand to push it open, until you heard some strange noises.
Wet noises, with some grunting and whimpers of your name mixed in there.
You quickly covered your mouth, not wanting him to hear you and be even more embarrassed. So you silently walked away and went back home, not wanting to make the situation even more awkward.
Miguel avoided you for a while after that, but you wanted to tease him a little.
You’re next training session was coming up, so you opted to put on the tiniest, tightest shorts and just a sports bra.
Miguel almost passed out when he saw your attire, and he was sweating before the training session began.
He barely kept it together the whole session, face red and flustered as he pinned you and you pinned him.
He ran out of the room the second your session was over adjusting himself, and you smiled to yourself. He did like you.
You started coming around to Spider HQ much more often. You liked Miguel a lot, and you knew he felt the same way.
You started bringing him little gifts, a plushie that you crocheted to look exactly like a miniature Miguel in his spider suit. You couldn’t help but smile at his reaction to the gift, his face going red and him looking down at it shyly. You had never seen him act so shy before.
He brought you things too, like the time he went searching from dimension to dimension for a candy bar you said you were craving but you couldn’t find anywhere anymore.
When he gave you the gift, you pulled him in for a bone squeezing hug, squealing and saying thank you over and over, and he just wanted to melt in your arms. You were so adorable.
When he saw how you lit up, so appreciative that he got a little candy bar for you, he knew he wanted to make you feel like that forever. He knew he had to make you his.

I need your hands on me, sweet relief - Q. Hughes
Tumblr media
Summary: After another disappointing season, Quinn Hughes needs a change of scenery. Renée Moreau is just trying to figure her life out.
Also known as, the Summer in Provence.
Words: 12k
Warnings: angst, fluff, self-doubt, some bad language, hinted intimacy
A/N: Quinn has really sunk his hooks into me this off-season so I knew I had to write something for him! Provence is on my list of places to visit, so this research was really fun to do.
Title from Pretty Please, by Dua Lipa
~~~
Quinn was tired. No, he was exhausted. Every year it had been the same thing – play so hard all season, push his body to the limits, his team forcing themselves to breaking point, only to never make it into the playoffs. With the Canucks not reaching the playoffs for eight years in a row now, despite him only being on the team for half of that, the pressure was starting to take its toll.
He didn’t know how much more of this he could take.
Something needed to change, anything, before the repeated devastation broke him entirely. It felt stupid being only 23 years old and feeling so weary, but he had to do something. He had to do something to break himself out of this cycle, mentally if nothing else. If nothing changed within him, how could he expect anything to change for the team?
By the time locker clean-out day came around, Quinn was at the end of his tether. It wasn’t uncharacteristic of him to stay quiet, he knew that, so he escaped from half-hearted conversation with a promise to attend one last team event, a goodbye barbecue, before everyone went their own ways for the summer. By the time he’d driven himself home to shower off the stink of failure, Quinn had formed a vague plan for what he wanted to do.
He was going to go on vacation. By himself. For at least two weeks.
It was completely out of his comfort zone, completely different to his usual summer routine, but the more he thought about it as he scrubbed the shampoo out of his hair, the more he was convinced. He needed a break. He needed a holiday. Now, he just needed to figure out where.
Somewhere in Canada? No, that was the last thing he needed after the crash of the season. Again. Somewhere in the US? Even more of a no, with the playoffs in full swing. So somewhere abroad? Maybe…somewhere in Europe? The continent was big enough for him to hide in for a couple of weeks right?
The only thing he could think of to do was to pull up a map of Europe on his laptop the moment he got out the shower, close his eyes and have a pointed finger land on a country. Surely he could narrow it down from there, even as dumb as he felt picking a destination this way in the first place. At this point he couldn’t back out though, the desperation fuelling him, so Quinn followed his ridiculous plan – he pulled up the map, closed his eyes, took a deep breath…and placed his finger on the screen.
France.
Okay, France was good. It was a good option, plenty of different cities all across the country. One of them would work for him to unwind in, right? Somehow, he already felt lighter, just from knowing he had a vague destination. Was it really this easy? Why had he not done this before?
Before he knew it, he was spiralling down a rabbit hole of articles - ‘places to visit in France’, ‘3 months backpacking across Europe – must-see sights’, ‘gap year in France’ to name a few – and his eyes kept catching on a name. Provence. And the more he looked into the region, the more he fell in love with its beauty; it had everything from wine tasting to lavender fields to historical towns, and he could almost guarantee that no-one would know who he was. Perfect. Narrowing things down from Europe to France to Provence...and he eventually settled on an ancient medieval town right on the river Rhône, called Avignon. It looked so idyllic, and full of things to do (as well as close distance to plenty of other things to do). Something in his bones was telling him this was the place. This was it, the place where he could disappear to for two weeks to reset and refresh from the season.
And it wasn’t hard to get to either – it almost felt a little too easy. Quinn wasn’t used to things just falling into his lap like this, like it was too good to be true. A 13-hour flight from Detroit to Lyon, and then an hour by train from Lyon to Avignon? And a pretty little apartment in the centre of Avignon for far less than he’d been expecting? It was all there in front of him, timings and pricings included – could he really just book it and disappear for a couple of weeks?
What was holding him back?
Before he could chicken out, Quinn filled in his payment details for the flights, clicking through all the submission pages until a booking confirmation was in front of him, and he let out a shaky breath he didn’t realise he’d been holding. There was no going back now. He quickly booked the apartment too, making sure the dates and timings lined up, and once he had that confirmation page in front of him, he found himself laughing a little incredulously.
He'd done it. He’d really done it. He was going to Avignon in Provence, France, for the first two weeks of May and there was nothing that was going to stop him.
For the first time in as long as he could remember, Quinn felt free.
~~~
It took Quinn all of his willpower not to spill his plans to his family while he waited out the month before his trip arrived, not telling any of the Canucks either at the end of season barbecue. It helped that Jack (and his team) were in the first round of the playoffs and thriving, easy to pour his focus into supporting his brother there, his family’s full attention on his little brother just as he deserved.
There was just something in his gut telling him to keep quiet. He told himself it was because he didn’t want to distract from Jack’s playoffs, but he knew deep down that he just didn’t want anyone to worry. Because they would. Taking a trip so far away just to change things up? No-one would understand. They’d just fuss and stress and make Quinn feel worse than he already did – so he just didn’t say anything. Maybe it was a little selfish, but he didn’t care.
After a hockey season like he’d had, he just didn’t care.
It was easy enough to pack a suitcase without anyone noticing either, easy enough to have it waiting by his bedroom door with his passport tucked into a rucksack along with a couple of books he’d been meaning to read for a while, easy enough to call a taxi to take him to Detroit airport early in the morning before anyone in the house was awake.
It wasn’t until that he’d checked in and dropped off his suitcase, until he’d walked through security and gotten himself a much-needed coffee, that he pulled out his phone and opened up his family group chat.
From: Quinn Just wanted to let you all know that I’m heading off to France for a vacation. I’ll be gone for two weeks. Best of luck in the second round of the playoffs Jacky!
From: Luke Wait, what? Tell me you’re joking. Mom did you know?
With that, he put his phone on airplane mode, not daring to wait for any more messages to come through. The fact that Luke was awake this early was bad enough. It was the coward’s way out, he knew that, but at least he told them all, right?
With a sigh, Quinn tucked his phone into his rucksack, alongside the travel adapter for his charging cable he’d had to buy moments ago, and pulled out one of his books, sinking deeper into his chair. Only 30 minutes until his flight would be called – the sooner the better.
The rest of Quinn’s journey faded into a blur. Going to the gate. Boarding the plane. Taking off. Eating. Watching a movie. Eating again. Reading his book. Taking a nap. One final snack before landing. Waiting for his suitcase. The train journey to Avignon. The taxi to his apartment, not being awake enough to do anything other than show the driver the address he’d saved on his phone.
By the time Quinn collected the key from the dropbox and stumbled into the apartment, it was all he could do to dump his suitcase in the living room and kick off his clothes ahead of faceplanting into the bed, jet lag dragging him down into a deep sleep with a smile on his face.
He’d made it to France. Provence. Avignon. He could finally rest.

Renée Moreau felt like she was at a standstill. She’d followed all the steps in the playbook – worked hard in high school, gone to college, graduated with a degree in Communications from the University of Ottawa – but now she was at a loss. There was no rulebook for what to do when you reach adulthood, other than the societal expectations to get a job, settle down, get married, have a family. But she was only 23 years old and single as hell – there would be no marriage and babies happening any time soon, of that she was certain, and as for getting a job? She just didn’t know what she wanted. She didn’t know what would make her happy.
She was at a standstill. She was lost.
Sure, Renée had worked a couple of odd temp jobs after coming home to Montreal but nothing that resonated with her, much to her parents’ dismay. She loved them – truly she did – but their expectations for her future didn’t line up with her own in her current stage in life, and she knew that seeing her get more and more run down with each job that didn’t feel right only made things harder. It got to the point, after 9 months, where her parents suggested that they could pay for her to take a three-month travel break to Europe on the condition that she would work for her father’s company when she returned. It felt like an easy way out, something she’d desperately tried to avoid…but after the past 9 months, she knew she needed to do something.
So she’d agreed, much to her parents’ elation.
Renée decided on France, in the end. It was her first language after all, having grown up in Ville-Marie in Montreal, and after a bit of serious research with her parents she’d made a rough plan, starting with Paris.
Her parents paid for her 90-day Schengen visa, bought her plane tickets and paid for all her accommodation as belated graduation presents and her birthday present combined, but she would pay for all food and excursions & activities out of her savings from the various jobs she’d worked since graduating. She knew she was privileged, more so than a lot of her friends, let alone the strangers she’d met on her travels, so she knew she couldn’t take her time away for granted.
Like most things, it turned out her parents were right. The trip away, travelling around France, was exactly what she needed.
For her first month, March, she travelled around exclusively by trains. Her first full week was spent in Paris, the perfect start to her trip to soak in all the culture and history, and then after that she went to Rennes for five days, then Poitiers for five days, then Saint-Jean for five days, and finally Bordeaux for a full week.
In the last few days of March, Renée hired a car to drive to Lyon, staying there for a full week to take her into April, and then on to Toulouse for five days. Next, she drove down to the southern coast, visiting Narbonne for three days, Beziers for three days, Montpellier for five days, Marseille for five days, and Nice for five days, before finally heading to Avignon. Within her first two days there, she’d quickly fallen in love with the medieval town, so had decided to stay for her entire last month. Her parents found her an apartment that would let her stay for the full 30 days, so while she was based in Avignon, she kept that hire car and planned to travel around to different places within Provence, to get the full experience.
It was hard to believe she only had one month left before she had to head home to Montreal.
Still, she knew there was something different about Avignon, something that drew her in, something that was telling her to spend her time there – so she was following her gut, just waiting for the universe to give her a sign.
And on the first of May, everything changed.
Renée was on her way back up to her apartment after picking up a few breakfast items from the local bakery, the old lady Vivienne who ran the place having given her a couple extra croissants with a sweet smile, only to see a stranger walking down the corridor towards her. He was tall, maybe 5ft 10, with fairly broad shoulders and toned arms. His dark hair was fluffy and unkempt, his pale skin a little unnatural with its purple bags under his eyes, and he barely looked conscious. Out of instinct, she held her bag a little tighter to her chest, even though he looked a little lost rather than intimidating. But still…she simply smiled politely, hoping that this wouldn’t end badly.
“Good morning. Are you new to the building?”
The man blinked sleepily at her, silent for a moment, before he shook his head.
“I’m sorry, I don’t speak much French. Do you speak English?”
She huffed out a laugh, her nerves fading a little. American. She could recognise the accent easily, different from her own French-Canadian, even if he was slightly slurred with sleep. “I do speak English. Are you…lost?”
He looked confused for a moment. “No?”
“I originally asked if you are new to the building,” she added.
“Oh, yes, I rented out that apartment for two weeks. Only arrived last night and I am super jetlagged, so I’m sorry if I’m a little loopy?” he said, smiling sheepishly.
Bless his heart. That explained a lot.
“I’m Renée, I’m staying in the apartment next door,” she said, holding her hand out.
He smiled warmly at her as he shook her offered hand, a sweetness that sent unexpected butterflies roaring through her stomach.
“Quinn. Sorry if I startled you. I promise I’m not this weird when I’m fully functioning,” he said, still smiling.
She couldn’t help but laugh at his self-deprecation, shaking her head.
“Don’t worry about it. I just want to check though…are you heading out to get breakfast?”
“Uh, yeah, I was planning on it – why?” he asked, confused.
“Not a lot of stores in Avignon speak a lot of English, at least not near us right now, so you might want to wait to venture out until you’re properly awake,” she teased.
Quinn blushed slightly, even as he groaned.
“Ah shit, I didn’t think of that,” he admitted, his smile shifting to a wry one.
She hesitated for a moment, before steeling herself. If her trip across France in the past two months had told her anything, it was to follow her gut instincts.
“Do you want to come into my apartment for breakfast? I have extra croissants, a bunch of different jams, and plenty of orange juice?” she offered.
His lips parted in surprise before his cheeks coloured again. Interesting. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure,” she mused, nodding, “I wouldn’t have offered if I didn’t, and we’re going to be neighbours for a little while at least, right?”
“Right.”
Renée opened her front door, Quinn following her in, closing the door behind himself gently. She smiled to herself as he curiously took in the apartment, probably no different than his other than the positioning of furniture, so she left him to look around while she unloaded four croissants from the bag and pulled out a few options of jam as well as the fresh butter in the butter dish she’d bought (that was definitely coming home with her). She gestured wordlessly for Quinn to sit at the breakfast island as she started loading the counter space in front of him, pulling out two plates, a butter knife as well as a few jam knives, and then finally the orange juice and a couple of glasses. It wasn’t much, nor had she entertained anyone other than herself in the couple days she’d been in Avignon, but it was perfect for her.
“Please dig in. It’s humble but it’s tasty, I promise,” Renée said, smiling.
Quinn just nodded shyly, reaching for a croissant. She tried not to watch him as she prepared her own breakfast, but it was hard not to enjoy the pure joy on his face at his face bite of buttery croissant, her smile catching his attention.
“Sorry, it’s just so good,” he mumbled.
“Definitely don’t apologise,” she laughed, shaking her head, “I’m sure I made the same face when I had my first croissant here. And if you think this is good – wait until you try the fresh bread. You’ll never eat processed cut loaves back home again.”
Quinn just groaned, taking another bite, making her laugh softly. She could appreciate a guy who appreciated good food.
“I think I’m going to really enjoy staying here for two weeks,” he finally said, after he’d eaten one half of his croissant.
“Two weeks huh? That’s a pretty decent amount of time to spend. What’s brought you out here then?” she asked.
Sue her, but she was curious. The exhaustion wasn’t just showing in his body – it was in his eyes too. Was he running from something?
“It’s just been a really hard year. With work, mostly. I haven’t had a proper break and I really needed one, so I pointed to a map, chose France, and spiralled down an internet rabbit hole until I settled on Avignon. It seemed like a good place to unwind and rest, at least for a couple of weeks. One of my best friends is getting married in July, so I wanted to be in a better place, mentally at least, before then,” he explained.
That definitely wasn’t the whole story, she could tell, but it was more than enough to explain the basics at least. She could understand wanting to get away from everything to reset at least.
“I’m sorry that everything’s been really difficult, but I promise you that Avignon is a great place for a vacation break. I haven’t been here long but I’m already feeling great,” she said firmly.
“Well if it’s any different than Vancouver, then I’ll be happy,” he mused.
Vancouver?
She could’ve sworn his accent was American.
Oh wait.
Oh.
Quinn.
Vancouver.
The year had been really hard for him.
You can take a girl out of Canada but you can’t take Canada out of the girl. She knew exactly who he was – Quinn Hughes, star defenceman of the Vancouver Canucks. How could she not have realised who he was?
But clearly, he was in Avignon to escape everything, to take a break from his real life and rest. She couldn’t tell him that she knew who he was, at least not right now. He deserved a little time at least to recover from the Canucks terrible season, and she could absolutely give that to him.
“Do you want me to show you around Avignon today and tomorrow? Show you the basics of our little neighbourhood like groceries and coffee shops and restaurants, as well as the tourist sites?”
“Oh I couldn’t impose,” he said quickly.
“Quinn, I’m offering because I’m happy to, I promise. Besides, you said you don’t speak much French and you might need the help, at least for the local parts,” she said, teasing a little at the end.
He blushed lightly before huffing out a laugh. “Alright, if you’re sure. I would love the guide help.”
“Great, it’s a plan! Now, please have another croissant and try another jam flavour. You won’t regret it.”
~~~
For the rest of his first day in Avignon, Quinn blearily followed Renée around, letting her help him pick up basic groceries to get him started as well as heading to a coffee shop to clear some of the fuzziness out of his head. They sat and talked for hours at the coffee shop, sitting outside on the edge of a square, just letting the sights and sounds flow over him, listening to Renée’s interesting stories about the neighbourhood.
He didn’t know if it was still the jetlag or not, but the fact that a girl as beautiful as her was paying attention to him was exactly what he needed in that moment. Her blonde curls were bouncy and shined like liquid gold in the midday sun. Her big brown eyes were almost doll-like, captivating and full of emotion. Her smile was entrancing, her laugh was like music to his ears, and she had curves for days that were simply mouthwatering. He couldn’t remember the last time someone had captured his attention like this, especially not this quickly, but after all this season had been, to have this girl willing to spend time with him? It was everything.
Quinn was still suffering with jetlag pretty badly though, which Renée noticed and clearly took pity on him for, because she kept the rest of their day pretty light, mostly just walking him around the neighbourhood, showing him roughly where the main sights were ahead of a bigger day tomorrow. Which…she still wanted to spend time with him after a day of him being pretty useless other than happily basking in her conversation? Mind blowing.
The little local restaurant that she’d taken him to that night was just the cherry on top of an incredible first day.
Just like she’d promised, Renée had ramped up activities for his second day in Avignon. He’d put up a token protest at first, not wanting her to waste time with him when she had her own vacation to enjoy, but she’d insisted that she wanted to do the touristy things too. That, and he could ‘pay her back’ for translating everything by taking some cute photos of her rather than her having to rely on selfies to send to her family.
He'd blushed, obviously, but agreed quickly. It was hardly a hardship to take a few photos of her, especially when they would all be cute.
Renée ended up taking the two of them on a basic tour of some of the main sights on Avignon. The first being the Palais des Papes fortress, which he’d read about before his trip and was actually excited to explore, even more so when Renée told him that on summer evenings there was an impressive light show there that explained the history of Avignon (which the two of them ended up attending that very evening after dinner in the little local restaurant again, with a flask of spiked hot chocolate). She’d also taken him to the Pont d’Avignon, a beautiful medieval bridge where only four arches survived. After stopping for lunch in a little café, the two of them had wandered around the flower market and farmer’s market at Place des Carmes – not buying anything but just taking in the sights and people watching, soaking in the atmosphere.
In the afternoon, she’d driven the two of them 30 minutes away to visit the Roman Pont du Gard – a UNESCO World Heritage site for a beautiful ancient Roman aqueduct bridge, where he’d taken way too many photos…and Renée had even taken a couple of him in various poses.
For the memories, she’d insisted.
How could he refuse?
Day three found them a little more chilled out. Renée liked to keep a balance, apparently, of chilled days and packing in touristy activities, which Quinn was more than happy to indulge in if it meant spending more time with her. It felt a little silly to be focusing his time around someone he’d only just met, but there was just something about her. Something that made him want to spend time with her rather than isolating himself. And it wasn’t like he’d set out with much of a plan other than getting away from everything back home.
The main thing they did on his third day was walking around the flea market in Place des Carmes, the same place that the flower and farmer’s markets were in the day before, before sitting in the square afterwards in coffee shop to watch the world go by. It was exactly what he needed after the intense day that yesterday had been, and it just gave him more of an excuse to get to know her a little better, even volunteering a little information about himself as well. Not much, but still a little, enough to make her smile at least.
On their way back to their apartments, Renée had insisted on picking up groceries for dinner, promising to cook for him (which he was never going to say no to), as well as taking him in a couple of little trinket stores she’d found on her own first day, some of which he knew he’d be returning to for gifts to take back home. But that wasn’t something he was letting himself think about right now – home. Right now, all he wanted to do was focus on the beautiful girl next to him, so full of joy and wonder and excitement, soaking in her energy.
She’d cooked him a grilled fish dish, paired with sautéed vegetables and potatoes, inspired by one of the restaurants she’d eaten at in Marseille. It was incredible, the best fish he’d ever eaten and he wasn’t even exaggerating – she blushed all the same when he complimented her cooking though, brushing herself off as amateur. If he could pick up even a little of her sense of adventure, he knew he’d be all the better for it.
When they were sitting on her sofa, dishes rinsed and in the sink, both sipping on a glass of wine, Quinn felt like he’d been transported to another world. Finding peace and comfort this quickly on a trip that he’d booked on a whim? It was the last thing he’d been expecting.
“You know, you already look a little lighter,” Renée said, breaking their comfortable silence.
“I feel it. My…job really can be so stressful. I hadn’t realised it was this bad though,” he admitted.
Renée seemed to hesitate slightly before smiling. “I can imagine the hockey season is draining.”
The hockey season. She knew. Oh fuck, she knew who he was? He found himself freezing, no idea what his face was doing but it was enough for Renée to wince.
“I’m not French. At least, I’m not from France. I’m from Montreal, born and raised,” she admitted, nerves all over her face now, “I swear I’m not going to post on social media about you or even tell anyone about you. Your reasons for taking a break are yours and yours alone.”
Quinn let out a shaky breath, trying to smile but he clearly failed because Renée pulled out her phone with a determined look.
“Here, my Instagram. And I can show you facebook too. I don’t have whatever the hell twitter is now and I never have done. I haven’t posted about you and I won’t, I promise. I’m not lying,” she said firmly.
Quinn took the offered phone, scrolling a little through her Instagram posts, noting that there hadn’t been anything posted since they’d met three days ago. He still felt a little shaky but the fact that she went out of her way to prove to him, to reassure him…it helped, a little.
“Thank you for your honesty,” he murmured.
“I didn’t realise straight away. Not until you mentioned Vancouver,” she added.
Well that was something at least.
“I was so sure that no-one would recognise me this far away from home,” he said softly.
She winced again, before smiling sadly.
“If you want, we can go our separate ways and you don’t have to see me again for the whole two weeks you’re here. I don’t want to ruin your time away. That’s literally the last thing I want.”
The full two weeks without seeing her? Something about that sat badly in his stomach, sinking like a stone, and he found himself shaking his head.
“No. No I don’t want that. You’ve been nothing but kind to me, not judging me for being a hot mess, and I believe you when you say that you won’t tell anyone I’m here. My parents and brothers know I’m in France but that’s literally it. Anyone else that wants to know where I am can ask them,” Quinn explained, “I’m enjoying spending time with you, if you don’t mind spending it with me.”
“Alright, if you’re sure. Because I’m definitely enjoying spending time with you,” she said, her smile a little shy now.
For some reason, her shyness made his breath hitch in his chest, enough for him to need to cough it away.
“I’m sure. I’m pretty sure my French isn’t up to the task anyway,” he said, trying to shift the tone of conversation a little, to ease the tension he felt creeping up his neck.
Renée just laughed, making him blush slightly. That was better, even if it was at his expense.
“Your bakery order this morning wasn’t half bad! You’ll get there,” she teased, “Was there anything in particular that you wanted to see or do while you’re here?”
“The only thing I’d really read about that we haven’t seen is the lavender fields?” he suggested.
Renée grinned and nodded, making him smile. “There’s beautiful lavender fields in Sault that I was hoping to go to. Maybe we could go together?”
Quinn nodded in response, his body sinking into the sofa, releasing tension he hadn’t realised he was holding. She knew who he was...and the world hadn’t ended. She still wanted to spend time with him. He still got to spend time with her. Was this a dream? It felt like a dream.
“I definitely want to do a wine tour of some kind. There’s so many vineyards around here it would be silly not to. And I kind of wanted to do a day trip to Arles, maybe another to Aix-en-Provence, but there’s also the Musée de Petit Palais here in Avignon that I haven’t been to yet which is meant to be beautiful? It’s another UNESCO World Heritage Site, and I’m pretty sure you’d enjoy it too?”
Quinn just took another sip of his wine, allowing her enthusiastic words to wash over him. Whatever she wanted to do, he was here for it. And he couldn’t wait.
~~~
Renée felt like she was floating through a dream. She’d honestly expected Quinn to want nothing to do with her after she admitted knowing who he was, but the fact that he was still willing to spend time with her? To indulge her in all the things she wanted to visit just because he didn’t really have much of a plan himself? Well she was absolutely going to take advantage of that, if it meant spending a little more time with the cutest boy she’d ever met.
For day four of Quinn’s trip, she took him on a Rhône Valley wine tour, just as she’d promised, the two of the tasting all different wines including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rasteau, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Cairanne, Tavel, Lirac, Visan, Sablet and Séguret, across four leading wine estates. It was a long day, long and so much fun, with only two couples joining them on the tour, so they’d had plenty of private time together to enjoy the day as well as pick up a couple of bottles to bring back to the apartment as well as a couple of bottles for home. The two of them had stumbled back to his apartment, barely remembering to pick up some bread and cheese to soak up some of the alcohol, which they’d decimated before passing out on his sofa.
Waking up on day five snuggled into Quinn’s side had been worth the hangover.
The two of them had agreed to keep the day as a quiet one, Renée having volunteered to go out to pick them up fresh bread and fruit and coffee after they’d both showered, spending most the morning reading in a comfortable silence before they ventured out for coffee in the same square as their first day, getting to know each other even more now that he could be more open with her. The two of them traed stories of ridiculous friends and hangovers of time past, before heading back to the little local restaurant they’d been to a couple of times already for dinner again, not wanting to break the happy chilled vibe they’d managed to curate over the day.
On day six, Quinn had surprised her with a trip out to the village of Gordes (with her driving, of course), to a spa day in the Airelles Spa. He’d apparently already booked all their treatments, paying the moment they arrived, and considering how fancy the place was, Renée couldn’t even imagine how much money he’d spent on her. But he’d stayed firm in his decision, a streak of confidence that sent her heartbeat fluttering just that little bit faster. It was a side of him she hadn’t seen before, but if he wanted to treat her to a day of relaxation, she wasn’t going to complain.
Alongside the typical swimming pool and steam room, both of them had a neck, shoulders and scalp massage, followed by a thermal mud mineral wrap, and finishing off with a ‘golden glow’ facial. It was honestly the most relaxed Renée had ever felt, but the fact that she did all of this alongside Quinn? With him looking like years of stress had been lifted off of him? She barely had the words to describe it. It didn’t help that he spent the day in bathing shorts and her in a one-piece swimming costume – his toned torso was distracting enough. The spa itself wasn’t that busy at all, so the two of them had essentially the whole place to themselves most the time, and Renée felt like she’d grown closer to him throughout the day more than she ever had to any friend, let alone any guy. It was a personal intimacy, to spend such time in platonic closeness, leaving her a bit overwhelmed with the whole situation, if she was being honest.
Quinn’s pleased smile while they had an early dinner in the village of Gordes kept her quiet though. If he was happy, she was happy.
It was on day seven that everything changed.
The two of them had strolled along the Rhône river in the morning with a cup of coffee each, taking in the scenery and taking their time, heading to the jardin du Rocher des Doms for a picnic. Quinn had brought along one of their bottles of wine from their wine tour, and they’d picked up a second bottle alongside some water, fresh bread, sharp cheese, grapes and strawberries, as well as a couple of chocolate studded pastries from the bakery, all carefully placed into Quinn’s rucksack with a blanket from Renée’s sofa. The two of them settled on a vacant patch of grass away from most other groups, giving them the illusion of privacy, Quinn pouring them a glass of their wine before raising his glass in a toast.
“To the most amazing holiday of my life. To meeting an amazing new friend. To another week of this bliss.”
Renée blushed lightly but clinked her glass against his, taking a sip of the wine that instantly sent her back to the day of their tour with its smooth taste. She cleared her throat, shaking her head to bring her back to the present, smiling at Quinn’s confused look.
“It’s nothing. Shall we eat?”
And the two of them did, a bite at a time, soft bread with sharp cheese with refreshing grapes, saving the strawberries and pastries for dessert, talking for the several hours it took them to finish all the food while they basked in the sunshine and light breeze, long enough to finish both bottles of wine as well. Long enough that Renée felt a little light-headed from the alcohol and the company, Quinn’s soft sweet eyes making her head swirl.
She must’ve stayed silent, caught in his gaze, for long enough that Quinn stopped talking too, staring at her eyes in confusion before his gaze flicked down to her mouth. Her breath hitched in her throat, Quinn’s lips parting in a shaky breath…before he leaned over and kissed her, a gentle hand cupping her face.
And then he quickly pulled away, eyes wide in a panic.
“Fuck, Renée, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean…well, I did, but-”
Renée pressed a finger to his lips to stop his rambling, let out a shaky breath of her own. Quinn just froze, eyes still wide in panic, not daring to move.
“You kissed me. Why?” she managed to say, before removing her finger, feeling the phantom presence of his lips on her skin.
His tongue darted out to wet his lips before he huffed out a laugh.
“Because I wanted to? Because you’re beautiful and hilarious and so cool and it seemed like a good idea at the time?”
Oh wow. That…wasn’t what she was expecting. He thought she was beautiful?
“You think I’m beautiful?” she murmured.
“Yeah, I do.”
It was all Renée could do to lean forward and kiss him again. Quinn made a soft noise of surprise but didn’t hesitate to kiss her back, his hand sliding across her cheek to cup her cheek again. The kisses stayed soft and slow and sweet, only a hint of tongue, but they sent electricity thrumming through Renée’s veins all the same. Never had such an innocent embrace set her heart racing like this. Never. Never had such a sweet boy kissed her so sweetly.
She didn’t know how long they spent kissing, time losing all meaning as she lost herself in his lips, both of them breathless by the time she pulled away.
“Wow,” was all she could murmur, Quinn’s lips looking as swollen as hers felt.
Quinn just laughed, breathless and carefree, making her dart forward to press one last lingering kiss to his lips, earning a soft moan of protest from him when she sat backwards.
“We could, um…”
She trailed off, rubbing the back of her neck, feeling uncharacteristically awkward. He just smiled softly at her.
“We could what?” he prompted.
Her cheeks flushed with a light blush, feeling bold with her thoughts.
“I really liked kissing you. And I know we’ve only known each other a week…but we could fool around no strings for your last week here? There’s no harm in it, right? A little summer vacation fling?”
The moment the words left her lips, she felt mortified. She’d never even thought about doing something like this before, let alone suggesting it, and the fact that Quinn looked stunned didn’t help her feel any better about acting like a floozy.
“Yes.”
His breathy confirmation brought her out of her thoughts, and a smile spread across her face before she could stop herself.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, I’d like that,” Quinn nodded, smiling back at her. “You’re right, there’s no harm in it. I really liked kissing you too.”
Well that was all she needed to hear. Renée leaned forward again, sliding her hand into his hair this time, letting the feeling of his curls between her fingers ground her as she kissed him slowly, unable to stop herself smiling as Quinn kissed her back with a happy sigh.
And that was how they spent the rest of their afternoon, shifting between slow kisses and sweet conversation, sipping the water they’d brought along too, before they eventually headed back to their apartments, changing quickly before heading out to dinner in the little local restaurant they’d been to most nights now, holding hands the entire walk. It felt a little surreal, if she was being honest, that a guy as cute as Quinn was happy to fool around with her when he could have anyone else he wanted. But there was no way she was taking back her crazy proposition now, not if she could have just a little bit of him before he left in seven days.
Spending a couple of hours making out on his sofa before she went back to her own apartment to sleep was the perfect way to end a perfect day.
~~~
He couldn’t stop thinking about her.
Not when she left his apartment last night after they made out for hours on his sofa, soft and sweet shifting to heated and intense. Not when he tried to sleep but couldn’t get the thought of the way her body felt straddling his waist, his hands desperate to move from where he’d planted them on her waist. Not when he woke up hard as a rock, needing no more than a few moments and a gasp of her name before he was dizzy all over again.
The moment that Renée’s surprising suggestion had reached his ears, he’d felt like he was in an alternative dimension. Things like this didn’t happen to him. Not in real life. Not to him.
And yet here he was, sitting beside her while she drove them out to Arles for a day trip, lips still buzzing where she’d kissed him good morning and passed him a cup of fresh coffee.
But it wasn’t just the physical aspects of it all that was consuming him, as incredible as it all was. He was falling for her, fast. He wasn’t stupid, as much as the hockey player stereotype usually proved. He knew enough about himself to know that Renée was exactly his type – beautiful, funny, smart, and so full of a genuine happy energy. Loved trying new things. Found the little stories of everything fascinating. Had excellent taste in wine. Was an amazing cook. Had a laugh that made his heartbeat race. It was insane how much he already liked her, and it felt stupid the more he thought about because he’d only known her a week. Just one week, seven days, and she had him caught hook, line, and sinker. He still wasn’t sure how he was lucky enough that she was even interested in fooling around with him but he wasn’t going to waste this opportunity, as much as it was probably going to break his heart when he went back home.
But if this morning’s kiss was anything to go by, with the way that he was still floating on air right now, maybe it was exactly what he needed after all.
It only took 45 minutes for them to drive to Arles, Renée finding parking easily with the mid-week calm.
They headed straight to the Arènes d'Arles, the Roman amphitheatre, taking a tour of the incredible two tier structure as well as taking a bunch of photo of each other – as well as a couple of selfies for their own personal stashes. Unfortunately there wasn’t a concert that night – which, if he’d known there were concerts here, he would’ve planned better – and the bullfighting wasn’t on either, but it was still incredible to wander about the 2,500 year history.
The two of them also headed on the Van Gogh walk, Quinn having no idea that the artist had actually lived in Arles for 16 months in the late 19th century. What was incredibly endearing was Renée’s enthusiasm for spotting the locations referenced in his art work, including the Quai du Rhône for the starry night, and Lamartine Square for the yellow house. The walk took them several hours but by the time they’d reached the end of it, Renée was practically giddy, and that alone was worth it for Quinn.
After a lunch stop, the two of them headed to the Cloître Saint-Trophime, another incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site, exploring the cathedral and grounds at their usual easy pace, snapping a few photos – until an older lady approached them with a smile.
“Vous êtes un beau couple. Tu veux que je prenne une photo?”
Renée immediately blushed but nodded, handing her phone over. Quinn just looked at her, curiously.
“She says we’re a beautiful couple and asked if we would like a photo.”
Oh wow. He couldn’t help the smile that tugged at his lips, sliding his arm over Renée’s shoulders as she wrapped an arm around his waist, leaning into his body as the lady snapped a couple of photos of them. She returned Renée’s phone with an indulgent smile, Renée murmuring a soft merci beaucoup in thanks, and Quinn wasted no time in throwing an arm over her shoulder again to see her phone screen.
The first photo took his breath away, with how easy they looked together. The old lady was right – they did look like a beautiful couple.
“You look so happy,” Renée said softly, smiling up at him.
“I am happy,” he said honestly.
Her cheeks flushed and she quickly looked back down at her phone, but he knew that she was smiling.
“I promise not to post it anywhere,” she said quickly.
Because there was no denying that this wasn’t just friendship in that photo.
“Okay, sure. Can you still send it to me though?” he asked hopefully.
She giggled but nodded, sending the photo by airdrop before leaning up to give him a quick kiss. As she pulled away, Quinn felt just as breathless as he did the first time he kissed her. It was getting harder and harder to deny his feelings, that was for sure.
The two of them spent a little more time in Arles before driving back to Avignon, going to their separate apartments to freshen up before heading out for dinner. Typically, they headed out to their little local restaurant – hell, they were practically regulars at this point – and their usual waitress showed them to a table in the corner.
The waitress murmured something to Renée after she handed them their menus, making Renée blush deeply and laugh as she walked away, to which Quinn just looked at her curiously.
“Maude was teasing us. Said it’s about that that we admitted our romance,” Renée admitted.
Well damn. First the old lady in Arles and now their waitress? Did they really look that natural together?
“Alors.”
Quinn startled slightly at Maude’s voice, but let out a huff of laughter as she presented a bottle of ruby red wine. The waitress rattled off a stream of fast French, to which Renée laughed again, shaking her head.
“She said the wine is free for new lovers.”
Now it was Quinn’s turn to blush, earning laughter from both women.
“Merci pour le vin,” he stumbled out, his translation hesitant.
But Maude just beamed, patting his shoulder.
“Bien!”
He slumped back in his chair, letting Renée order for them both, knowing that she could see he was a little overwhelmed and also knowing the food he liked by now. It was easy. Too easy. Why was he getting himself so worked up about this?
“Cheers, Quinn.”
Renée’s soft words brought him out of his thoughts, seeing her raising a glass of the wine to him and that she’d already poured him a glass too, so he quickly lifted his glass with a smile and clinked it gently against hers.
It was very good wine.
True to form, the two of them spent a couple of hours eating, talking, and drinking, just basking in each other’s company, and Quinn tried not to let himself overthink things. No strings, easy fun. He could roll with this.
It was late when the two of them ended up back in his apartment, kissing the moment that Quinn shut the door behind them, and they stumbled over to the sofa without breaking apart. It was consuming, heated, passionate like never before, and Quinn found himself sliding his hands under her clothes, helping her undress as she helped him undress too. It wasn’t until they were down to their underwear that Quinn pulled away to take a ragged breath, eyes roving over her tanned skin bathed in the moonlight that streamed in through the windows.
“Bed?” he asked, more than a little breathless as his hands clutched at her bare waist.
“Yes, take me to bed Quinn,” she murmured.
He didn’t need to be asked twice.
~~~
The next few days felt like they flew by. Renée tried to hold onto each moment, to savour each memory, but when each moment was just as happy as the last, it was hard to distinguish them. Throughout days nine, ten, eleven, and twelve of Quinn’s trip, Renée tried hard to make sure that he experienced as many local things as well as a couple of more exciting trips, to keep his vacation as full as possible.
In Avignon, the two of them visited the Musée de Petit Palais, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to an incredible collection of paintings from the 13th to the 15th century. They also went to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-des-Doms. It was right next to the Palais des Papes, where they’d visited earlier in their trip, and well worth the visit – the frescoes, marble statues and golden statue of the Virgin Mary in the interior were incredible, and another moment for a few photos of the two of them.
Those were mostly for Renée’s memories at this point. She wasn’t going to lie to herself.
As a fun activity, Renée booked them on a lunchtime cruise along The Rhône, listening to the tour guide give them a fascinating description from the water’s edge, murmuring the translation into Quinn’s ear as they went – a perfect excuse to sit practically in his lap, although she didn’t think he minded with the way he had his arm wrapped tight around her waist.
They also took a day trip to Aix-en-Provence, just as she’d asked for.  It took them just over an hour to drive, easy in the morning traffic, and she felt lost in the incredible art history, grateful to Quinn for indulging her yet again. They visited the art studio of Cezanne, as well as his works displayed in the Granet Museum. The museum also displayed works by Picasso, Rembrandt, and Ingres, all of which Quinn listened to her ramble about with avid attention. They had an extended coffee break in Cours Mirabeau, visited the beautiful Vendôme Pavilion, before eating a romantic candlelit dinner looking over a busy square, all light up with twinkling lights.
Her favourite day though? A trip to the local farmer’s market again, when they’d eaten fresh peaches and kissed the slick juice off each other’s lips.
All of this mixed with intense incredible sex every single day only led Renée to one conclusion. She was falling in love with him, slowly but surely, and she felt so damn stupid when she realised it, lying naked in his arms while Quinn snored quietly next to her. How could she not feel stupid? He was leaving soon – he only had two days left in Avignon – and there was nothing she could do about it. She was the one that suggested no strings fun after all, although she should’ve known that would’ve come back around to bite her in the ass.
Nothing good could come from this realisation. Nothing at all.
But she would be damned if she wasn’t going to live these final two days with him to the fullest.
~~~
Quinn woke up on his penultimate day with a heavy heart. Not because of the beautiful woman lying naked in his arms, no. Well…no, not really. It wasn’t her fault, after all, that he was falling in love with her. She’d never asked for that, nothing more than fooling around, but here he was thinking like a fool anyway.
That didn’t stop him from kissing the sleepy smile off her face when she woke up, happily making her cry out his name with his face between her thighs too.
After the two of them had showered separately in their own apartments, because he knew damn well that he couldn’t keep his hands off her at this point, they headed out to central Avignon for their final day trip. Today, they were heading to Sault, to the lavender fields, as part of a half day trip with a private guide. Apparently the trips were for a maximum of eight people in a minibus, but there was only one other couple booked in for their trip today, so Quinn was buzzing about having more private time with Renée.
The ride from Avignon only took one hour, but before they got to the fields, they made a stop at the lavender distillery Arôma Plantes. Alongside a little museum, where they learnt about lavender oil production, there was a little store, where Quinn happily bought a ton of gifts for his family to take home with him, and Renée bought her own fair share too. When they finally arrived at the fields though, Quinn had to admit he was a little breathtaken with the vast beauty. The bright colours alone were stunning, and he made sure to take a ton of candid photos of Renée as well as a couple of posed shots, letting her do the same for him before the tour guide took a few photos of them together, getting all the angles in to make them laugh.
The laughing photos ended up being his favourite of the whole selection, if he was being honest.
They visited three fields in total for about 15-20 minutes each, before heading to the village of Sault for a lunch stop, sharing a bottle of wine between them (with the other couple doing the same). By the time they headed back to Avignon, Quinn had a steady buzz from the wine as well as the rush of the day, and it was easy to fall back into his bed with Renée for the afternoon, only leaving to shower separately when his stomach rumbled with hunger.
They changed apartments for dinner, Renée having a better kitchen set-up than he did. He watched her cook for them in a comfortable silence, sipping water to clear his head as much as was possible, smiling at her every time she caught him watching her.
“I’m really going to miss you.”
There it was. He’d blurted it out without meaning to, cringing at the raw honesty in his voice. Renée looked more than a little stunned, turning the stop top burner to low before looking at him properly.
“You’re going to miss me?” she said hesitantly, “Or you’re going to miss this time in Provence?”
“You. Both. I don’t know. It doesn’t make sense when I say it out loud, but I can’t believe how quickly these past two weeks have flown by? If I could live in a bubble with you here in Avignon, time standing still and nothing changing, then I would,” he said, laughing a little incredulously.
Renée smiled sadly. “The time has flown by. Avignon with you will always hold a place in my heart. I’m going to miss it too.”
“You’re leaving Avignon?” he asked, confused.
She seemed to hesitate slightly, maybe a little confused, before she nodded.
“I’m leaving France entirely soon – I’m due to head home myself. My Schengen 90 day visa runs out at the end of May.”
Her whole trip was ending?
She was heading home too?
She was heading back to Canada, back to Montreal?
Why hadn’t she said anything these past few days? Why had they only focused on him, only spoken about his trip ending?
While he got lost in his thoughts, Renée finished off cooking, and the two of them sat down to eat in silence. As always, the food was incredible, and he made sure to let her know that, earning the usual modest blush, and they finished off a bottle of wine on the sofa, ending the evening with the slow, sweet kisses that had gotten him lost in her nearly a week ago.
But rather than falling into bed together like they had done all week, Quinn had left for his own apartment with a goodnight kiss, admitting he hadn’t yet packed his suitcase at all, and he didn’t want to rush that tomorrow.
Renée had laughed at him, teasing smile making him blush, but she waved him off with another kiss that left him conflicted. Because while it was true he had yet to pack his suitcase, he also wanted to think.
She lied about leaving Avignon. Why?
No, not lied. Just omitted. He knew she was over on a visa, but it hadn’t occurred to him the timings of her trip and she hadn’t stated it. Why?
Maybe she just was protecting herself. But why?
The more he thought about it, the more overwhelmed he felt, until he was sitting on the edge of his bed with his head in his hands. Why did he care so much? Why had he let her get into his head like this? Why had he allowed her to consume his heart like this?
Because that what it was, wasn’t it? He was falling in love with her, and he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her, and now there was a slightest fraction of a chance that this didn’t have to end because they would be in the same country for most of the year.
It was the tiniest sliver of a chance but as soon as he thought of it, his greedy heart clutched onto the hope with all of its strength.
This season had been one of the hardest, both physically and mentally, and he’d taken this trip to make a change in his life. A change he had so desperately needed. Was Renée this change? Had she changed him? Meeting her was the first thing that made him feel good in a long time. He was damn sure that he wouldn’t have had nearly as good a time in Avignon if it hadn’t been for her. He knew that, down to his bones.
He had to tell her how he felt. It would be stupid not to, with him leaving tomorrow. At least that way he would know for certain. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, right? He needed to take this shot, for his own heart’s sake.
Tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning he would tell her, and he could only hope for the best.
~~~
Renée woke up to the sound of a series of rapid knocks on her front door, jolting her from her sleep and her empty bed. Going to bed had been strange last night, without Quinn by her side as she’d had all week, but she knew that was stupid to hold onto. He was leaving today, after all, so she needed to let go of him. She wouldn’t survive otherwise.
Still the knocking continued, so she got up with a yawn, shuffling to open the door, only to reveal Quinn standing there far earlier than normal. He was fully dressed, holding two coffees in a holder with a bag of pastries under one arm…and a bouquet of flowers?
The most beautiful colourful fresh flowers that she’d ever seen too.
“Are these for me?”
Damn her lack of caffeine.
Quinn huffed out a laugh, smiling fondly down at her, making traitorous butterflies swirl in her stomach.
“Yes, they are. Can I come in?” he asked.
She just nodded, still a little stunned at the beautiful bouquet, Quinn heading straight for the kitchen to put them in a vase, leaving the coffees and pastries on the kitchen island as he did so.
“Quinn…” she murmured, prompting as he put the flowers on the island next to them.
He sighed, rubbing a hand over the back of his neck awkwardly, before he moved to stand next to her and cleared his throat.
“I’m leaving today. I’m leaving and I can’t change it, so I need to tell you before I regret not saying anything,” he said softly.
“Tell me what?” she asked, dangerous hope starting to seep into her heart.
“That I’m falling in love with you.”
Her lips parted in surprise as her heart felt like it skipped beat. He was falling in love with her?
“Renée Moreau…you’ve made me feel alive for the first time in a long time. Every time I look at you my heart wants to sing and I don’t want that to end. These two weeks have been the most amazing weeks of my life, especially this past week, and I had to tell you how I feel before I burst. Is there even the slightest chance that you feel the same for me too?”
His words washed over her in an emotional wave that she had not been expecting. It was the last thing she’d been expecting, if she was being honest, never daring to hope that he was falling for her like she was falling for him. She felt stunned, shocked into silence as pure giddiness rushed through her. He felt the same? He didn’t want this to end either?
Just as Quinn’s face started to shutter in her silence, Renée lurched forward and kissed him, cupping his face with both hands. Quinn moaned softly, kissing her back with an intensity that left her breathless, but she didn’t dare pull away from him until she started to feel dizzy, resting her forehead against his shoulder with shaky breaths. This was real. He was falling in love with her too. She wasn’t dreaming.
“You’re everything I’ve ever wanted, Renée. I admire your free spirit, and your courage, so much. Just going out into the world to figure out what it is that you want rather than coasting along in repetitive nothingness? You’re inspiring, and you make me want to live life to its fullest, every day.”
She choked out a sob against his shirt, lifting her head to look up at him with tears in her eyes.
“I don’t feel brave. In fact sometimes I feel like I’m free falling because I have no destination, and it's terrifying. But you…you’re dedicated to your career, to your family, to everything you love. You commit, wholeheartedly, and you inspire me, Quinn Hughes. You make me want to set roots and figure out what settling down means. You’re special, in every single way, and I really hope I can make you see exactly how special you are.”
It was Quinn’s turn to have tears spring to his eyes, and he shook his head a little incredulously, like he couldn’t believe his good fortune, before he just leant down to kiss her again, the kiss staying slow and warm, toe-curling in its sweetness before he pulled away once more.
“I don’t know what the future will hold. I don’t know how we’ll make it work between Vancouver and Montreal. But I want to figure it out, if you want to too?”
“I do, I really do,” she said, smiling through happy tears.
After spending the rest of Quinn’s last day in bed together, Renée drove him to the train station that evening. He was going to take a taxi, same as his way into Avignon, but Renée insisted, needing that last kiss goodbye. As she watched him wheel his suitcase into the station, ready to head to Lyon and then back to Detroit, her heart was aching dreadfully.
But she would see him again, she knew it.
~~~
The beginning of August felt like the beginning of a new chapter for Quinn. Not just because his off-season training had left him feeling strong, ready for the new upcoming season, but because Renée was arriving today to spend two weeks with him at his family’s house in Michigan. She was coming to meet his family, to finally see them in person, and he was so excited and nervous that he felt like he was going to burst.
The two of them had video called every single day since he arrived home, when she was still in Avignon as well as when she arrived home in Montreal, him meeting her parents over video call and her talking to his parents and Jack and Luke on the calls too – but now they would actually be meeting her in person. It was different. It was real. He wanted to scream and shout and throw up and pass out, all at once, all in the best possible way.
From the moment he woke up, despite his mom encouraging him to keep on track with his morning work-out at the rink with Jack and Luke, he felt like he’d been waiting hours for her to arrive. And sure, his brothers had been ruthlessly teasing him for essentially sitting in the front bay window, but  his mom ushered them away as best as she could. He didn’t care though, they could tease him all they wanted – he had the most amazing girl who actually liked him coming to visit. Soon enough, a car pulled up outside the house. Renée had insisted on getting a taxi from the airport, insisting she needed the time to pull herself together – but that didn’t mean Quinn couldn’t rush out of the house to greet her away from his family.
“Hey, you’re here,” he murmured, clutching her hands.
“I’m here,” she grinned.
Quinn wasted no time in kissing her, just a few short soft kisses that he needed, before pulling her tightly into a hug, Renée burying her face in his neck, the two of them keeping that embrace for a few seconds before pulling back with shaky smiles.
“Ready to meet my family?” he asked, picking up her suitcase.
“I think so?” she said.
Her tone of voice made him pause slightly, before he caught her gaze over his shoulder, and there pressed against the window were his brothers, gawking at them like lions at a zoo. Quinn just rolled his eyes, tangling his fingers with hers as they walked towards the house. He couldn’t apologise for Jack and Luke enough, he knew that much.
Meeting his parents went smoothly, his mom immediately pulling her into a firm hug while his dad just looked proud. Jack and Luke were a little more chaotic, but his mom (and thank god for her) broke up the intensity by letting them head upstairs to get Renée settled while she finished off putting lunch together, dragging his brothers out with her to set the table.
He’d cleared a little space for her in his drawers and wardrobe, allowing her to unpack fully with a shy pleased smile, and Renée didn’t take long putting everything away, Quinn watching her from his bed with a soft smile.
She was really here.
She was in his room, she’d met his family, she was staying for two weeks.
Renée was really here.
“So…”
She straddled his lap as she spoke, Quinn instinctively wrapping his arms around her waist as she placed her hands on his shoulders.
“So…” he repeated, teasing.
Renée laughed, kissing him slowly, sweetly, just enough tongue to send his head swirling as she pulled away.
“Remember how one of the conditions of my parents paying for me to go to France for three months was that I would work for my dad’s company when I got back?” she said, raising an eyebrow.
“Uh, yeah, I remember. What about it?” he asked, still a little stunned from the kiss.
“This is where I tell you that my dad has approved for me to run the social media accounts and minor marketing from a remote location,” she said, a little hesitant.
From a remote location.
Quinn inhaled sharply, lips parting slightly. “Does that mean…” he trailed off, eyes wide.
They’d talked about it, what the long distance between Vancouver and Montreal would mean, how difficult it would be. What possibilities they had. What the future could be.
Renée bit her bottom lip before nodding. “It means I can move to Vancouver with you. It means that my dad really likes you, and trusts that I can build a life with you while still doing my job. You know, if you still want me around.”
She would be coming to Vancouver with him. This was more than he could have hoped for after he’d met her, let alone after how last season ended. Was he dreaming? He didn’t think he was dreaming.
“Of course I do, are you kidding me? This is amazing!” Quinn grinned.
Renée laughed in delight as he pressed kisses all over her face, still giggling as he kissed her full on the lips, easily melting into the kiss as he slid a hand deep into her blonde curls, holding her tight to him. But then she broke away, resting her forehead against his for a breath or two before lifting her head to look into his eyes.
“You don’t think it’s too soon? We’ve only known each other twelve weeks! And we’ve only had two of those in each other’s company!” she said, hesitant.
No, he couldn’t have her hesitant. That was the last thing he wanted.
“My mom always says when you know, you know. And I know with you, Renée. Yeah, maybe it’s a little crazy, but it’s a good crazy? I don’t want to waste my life regretting something that has the potential to be amazing, just because it's not conventional,” he said seriously, smiling softly before that smile shifted to a frown, “You’re not having second thoughts, right?”
A lump rose in his throat at the passion in his own words, tears springing to his eyes as she shook her head.
“No second thoughts here at all. I just wanted to make sure – I had to say it. Because I know other people will be thinking it, even if they don’t say it too,” Renée said simply, smiling sadly at him.
“Fuck what anyone else thinks. You make me want to be brave, Renée, and I can’t wait to see where the future takes us,” Quinn said firmly, “Bring on the crazy and bring on these next two weeks.”
She just laughed, nodding again as a couple of tears escaped her eyes. Quinn’s smile softened as he wiped his thumb across a stray tear, before he leaned in to kiss her again. This was everything, right here. The girl of his dreams and the future he’d always hoped for.
“Hey lovebirds, sorry to break up the reunion, but mom wants to feed your girlfriend, Q.”
Quinn groaned as he pulled away, thunking his head on her collarbone.
“Thank you Luke, we’ll be down in just a moment,” Renée called out, laughing.
“Don’t let Quinn keep you locked away – Jack’s up next and he has a water pistol ready to go.”
Renée just laughed harder as Quinn’s face shifted in a light scowl.
“Bye Luke!” he said firmly, listening to his little brother laugh with annoyance, waiting until he heard footsteps to look back at Renée. “Little brothers are the worst.”
“I don’t know, seems like they love you a lot,” she grinned.
His heart melted a little at her sweet words. Not a lot of people understood the dynamics between him and his brothers, how intense they were, how close they were, but just the fact that Renée accepted their crazy without question?
Well, it said a lot about how well she was going to fit into his family, maybe even forever. But that was something for the future. Baby steps first.
“Ready to head down for lunch?” he asked, helping her to her feet.
“I’m ready.”
Can I request Hook dating an upcoming female wrestler, like how proud he would be when she wins her first championship?
YES!! I am so sorry if this isn't the best.
Word count: 1,390
Y/N’S POV Scrolling through my phone backstage I adjust my headphones getting into the zone for my match. Tonight is Full Gear and I am in a four way match for the TBS Championship alongside Kris Statlander, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue. Everyone was watching the current match between Darby, Sting, Adam Copeland, Christian, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne. I decided to go to Twitter and just scrolled through the fans talking about tonight. Out of the corner of my eye I notice someone coming towards me. I immediately recognized the cologne, my heart rate speeding up. Locking my phone, I looked towards the man and smiled, “Hey what’re you doing here?” I asked. Usually he was in his locker room or in a random hallway listening to music. He shrugged, “I was told you were in here. What’s on?” He asked, pointing at my phone. I clicked the power button making the screen illuminate. ‘Nuketown’ by Ski Mask shown on the screen. He nodded, “Ready for your match?” I shrugged, “I mean it’s not my first time having a shot at a championship. I have some nerves but I trust the girls.” I answered while opening my arms. He smirked, “Something you want?” I rolled my eyes at his smugness. “Tyler just give me a hug and kiss already before I put you in Redrum for once.” He laughed and finally did what I asked.
I smiled into the kiss. Kissing him always made my mind spin, he was addicting in every possible way. Pulling away I pouted, “Why’d you stop?” I asked. He smiled, his dimples appearing for a short second, “I have to get to Guerilla for Orange’s match. I’ll come see you before your match, okay?” I sighed, “You better. Now one more before you go.” I point to my lips. He rolled his eyes playfully now full on grinning. He leaned back down and gave me a peck on the lips. I opened my eyes and glared, “What the fuck was that? Kiss me like you mean it champ.” I grabbed his hoodie and pulled him to me kissing him. He pulled away, “Okay now I have to really go.” He said but making no point to move from my embrace. “Better get to walking then.” I smirked as he kept his eyes trained on my lips.
I made my way to the Guerilla with HOOK now waiting for the next match to end. We stood watching the tv hung on the wall. I began to stretch my arms and get the blood flowing to keep my body warmed up. Soon enough we heard the bell ring, Ricky and Bill still the tag team champions. I stood up and Tyler placed his hands on my face cupping my cheeks, “You might act like this is no big deal but I am so proud of you. From the beginning to now and even in the future I will always be proud of you, go out there and show them why you’re the next champion.” He spoke before kissing me. I nodded and squeezed his arm before a technician said it was my time. My music played as I headed through the tunnels to do my entrance. Once making it to the ring, I could feel the energy from the crowd and the situation really began to sink in.
Julia and I were laid out on the outside of the ring. Kris had Skye in the ring ready for the pin. I tried to shake the fog from my brain after being suplexed on the ground. I seen Julia jump up into the ring shoving Kris out once Skye was laid out on the mat. Julia went for the pin but was stopped as I jumped into the ring and stomped on her. Skye laid there motionless, Kris nowhere to be found. I grabbed Julia and gave her some chops. We went back and forth, I was slowly losing my patience. She flung me into the ropes but as she ran towards me I grabbed her and put her into Redrum falling onto my back. I could hear the crowd screaming and then the ref began to tap my arm to get me to release Julia. She tapped!  I threw her off of me and the emotions started to overwhelm my senses as the crowd chanted my name. “And your new TBS Champion, Y/N!!!” The ref held my arm up and handed me the championship. I could feel the tears pouring down my face. I held my neck as I raised the championship above my head. Soon enough music that was not mine began to play, I looked to the ramp after wiping my tears and seen that it was Tyler and Taz walking down to the ring. I smiled as they joined me in the ring. Taz pulled me into a hug congratulating me knowing how much I’ve worked to get here. He then stepped back and Tyler pulled me into him. We hadn’t really confirmed our relationship to the world outside of the locker room. The crowd cheered thinking it was just friends congratulating each other. He then pulled me into a kiss. I could’ve sworn my ears were going to explode from the crowd screaming. We pulled apart and grinned at each other. Grabbing my arm once more he looked at me nodding. He lifted my arm and his championship as I did as well while Taz clapped looking proud of us both. We then headed backstage.
After receiving congratulations from the locker room the media team wanted to get pictures for the AEW socials. After posing by myself they told HOOK to join me now that everyone knew we were dating. Finally we were in my locker room relaxing watching the rest of Full Gear. Tyler stood up from the couch and went to his bag grabbing something, I assumed was his phone before joining me back at the couch. I could feel his stare burning into my face, “Take a picture Senerchia if you like what you see.” I said, turning to look at him. “I knew you would win. You worked so hard, win after win. Loss after loss, you kept going and showed why you deserved this.” He gestured to the championship laid in my lap. “Careful, I might come for yours next.” I teased. He smiled, “I would love to see you try sweetheart.” I noticed he placed his hand in his pocket. I nodded my chin towards him, “Whatcha got there?” I asked. He suddenly became shy and blushed, “You know I really wanted to wait but I don’t think there would’ve been a better time to ask.” He said as he stood and went to one knee.
My heart stopped. He then pulled out a black velvet box, “Y/N, when I first saw you when you walked into catering with Skye that day two years ago I knew you were the one for me. That feeling grew the more I grew to know you and seeing you flourish in the company. You inspire me in so many ways to be a better person and a better champion. I never thought I would find love while being here but yet here you are. You showed me the world in a new light. When I lost the championship to Jack, you didn’t leave me even when I told you to. You told me to suck it up and go get my championship back. Y/N you make me the happiest and luckiest man alive, now seeing you as champion I don’t think I can wait another moment and not ask you this question.” He said as I felt tears well up in my eyes a second time tonight. He grabbed my hand after opening the box showing a beautiful ring, “Y/N, the new TBS Champion, will you marry me?” He asked sniffling. I then noticed he was also crying. “Yes.” I whispered. He smiled, “Yeah?” I jumped up, “Yes! Yes! Yes! I will marry you!” I screamed. He stood up then placed the ring on my left hand and kissed me whispering words of affection against my lips. Pulling apart I couldn’t stop smiling. What a way to end the night. New champion and now engaged.
Playing Dead by daylight for the first time ever and going against Ghostface. I had played a few matches before this and was really upset with myself because I kept getting sacrificed. So this is my first time with ghostface and I’m playing as Rebecca. The first thing that happens is I’m hiding in a locker and this man comes dancing cross the hallway. I’m in shock and horror at what I just witnessed truly the most shocking moment in my life. THEN we have only one gen left and I got the one in the closet and ghostface finds me. So here I am thinking I’m going to get hit and hooked but NO HE STARTS SPINNING!! So I start spinning because I’m scared if I don’t he will kill me… next think I know we are dancing keep in find the door way is blocked so I couldn’t run at all and he start having me work on the gen and every time I stop he stabs it so obviously I have to keep working. THEN HE GOES INTO STEATH MODE and is just watching me as well as the hallway. Every so often by the way, he’s like slowly turning to look at me, and then he goes back to watching the hallway, so I’m absolutely horrified scariest moment in my life. Then one of my teammates comes and find me and he can’t get in the closet, but he sees Ghostface basically keeping me hostage, and Ghostface chases him off and comes back to watching me. After I finish working on the generator, I think this is it he’s going to like kill me or something nope he has me follow him and leads me to the door and he OPENS IT!! Then he starts nodding at me and pointing towards the exit, so I give him a pat as thanks and I leave, and he watches me leave.
Now I’m sitting here so happy I won and in disbelief because I heard in the community that a lot of the ghost face players are really nice and fun to play with, but I didn’t believe it. This was great as a first time player and really got me into playing more matches!! Ghostface became my friend that day.
hello it's me again and I was wondering if you could bully mirko and bakugo (separately) again x male reader who loves their friends to the max but when they see their friends gets bullied by them to point where they cry they get mad VERY MAD and then BANG big ol right hook to the face (possibly cracking the skull a bit but that doesn't matter) sorry if you don't like it I just want a good outcome for the reader take as much time as you need and enjoy
[ Hello! I'm always happy to have a returning customer! We got a reader who isn't afraid to stand up to the bullies, let's see how it turns out. ]
Tumblr media
You and Rumi had a history that began when you enrolled at Shiketsu High School. She was your upperclassman, and many people teased that she liked you. This is because you were her primary bullying target, and you learned to live with that. But you never imagined she'd start bullying your friends as well.
"Yeah, man! She just pushed me against the lockers and kept asking me about you! What's your deal with her!?" For a hero student, she wasn't so heroic, at least not in your opinion. It was also very concerning that she'd be willing to hurt your friends to get information about you from them.
You knew your friends liked appearing tough, and you couldn't blame them considering the hero students seemed to be the highlight of the school. But when you noticed bruises on them in the locker room and they laughed off your concern, you boldly assumed, "It was Usagiyama, wasn't it?" You'd need to confront her about this sooner or later.
When you saw Rumi twisting the arm of one of your friends and tears run down their cheeks. You ran up and pushed her away, but she smirked at you when she fell to the ground instead of being angry. "Oh look who it is, pretty face or should I say pretty boy, is here to save his little friend." You were lucky she didn't attack you then and there.
After you confronted her, she sought more attention from you. To stand up to her meant you were bold or foolish. Either way, she wanted more of it. She wanted to see you angry and hurt and if she had to bully your friends to do that, so be it.
"Heh," she smirked and touched her sore jawline. "That's all you got, pretty boy? You're weaker than I thought," she said after your friend ran to you with tears streaming down their face, leading you to punch her. "Come here!" she growled, jumping from the ground only to tackle you back onto it. Long story short, the two of you were suspended.
Tumblr media
Most people avoided Katsuki Bakugou for obvious reasons. Your case was different. You were his favorite bullying target and many of your classmates teased you about it. Frankly, you didn't believe Katsuki bullied you because he liked you, rather it was because you were an easy target or so you thought.
"Hey look it's Bakugou! Why don't you go talk to him Y/n!?" one of your friends teased during lunch when they saw Katsuki passing by. Despite your attempts at telling your friend to be quiet, it was too late. Katsuki stomped over growling as he slammed his hands onto the table. "You got something to say!?" he demanded before dumping your tray of food over your friend's head.
It was unusual for your friend not to meet you in the morning. However, you quickly found out why when you turned down the hallway and noticed a crowd forming. Katsuki tripped your friend while walking down the hallway and pinned them against the lockers. Naturally, you were horrified but this didn't stop you from running over, grabbing Katsuki's arm, and demanding he stop.
"Oh, d-don't worry this is nothing!" Your friends tried to reassure you when they walked into class covered in leaves, dirt, and bruises. You knew immediately who was responsible and needed to confront him before this got out of hand despite your friend's warning not to interfere.
"Not so tough without your stupid glasses, are you!?" Katsuki grinned as he stepped on your friend's innocent spectacles, breaking them in half. Once again, a circle of students formed and you watched, trying to respect your friend's wishes. However, as soon as you saw tears streaming down their face, you rushed over and punched Katsuki straight in the jaw.
Rumors spread about the punching incident. While the teachers should do something about it, you and he denied the interaction despite the bruise on his jawline. Still, when you passed him in the hallway with your friends, you exchanged a glare. Katsuki knew you weren't frail and wouldn't back down while you knew he'd continue bullying you and your friends.
Different version of daggers meet Jake's dads, but in the other au I'm writing (and squealing about!!)
They joked about roos being nepotism kid, having been raised by Mav (maybe mav and Goose, in an au where goose lives ❤️, but mav doesnt grow that much close to tom), and Jake obviously has Chris last name, no one connected to navy or anything. Until they see him break in the wildest grin that has mav reconsider everything cause fuck I know that grin, and shortly do grabby hands and running-crashing against the compacflt and his second in command and that small blond that is basically Jake but smaller and with tattoos.
Omg yes okay
So I’m writing this in the au of Chris x Ron x Tom just because I can.
Mav and Goose were leaning against the bar talking with Bradley. Everyone so far has made fun of him for being such the nepotism baby.
Mav noticed that Jake is the only one who hasn’t made a jab at him. Jake just keeps checking his phone.
He hears more people come into the bar, but Goose hits him. He turns and looks, shit is that Tom? And Ron Kerner? Who the hell is the blond under their arms?
Jake takes off from the group. He slams into them. Goose can’t help it he lets out a “what the fuck.”
Jake gets a kiss on the head from each man, he drags them back over. “Mav pretty sure you know who this is.”
God that little shit. “Hey Tom. Hi Ron. Hello blond man who is Jake in 20ish years.”
That gets a laugh out of Jake. He grins.
Oh fuck. That’s the grin Tom gave him in the locker room at top gun. Is Jake Tom’s kid?
“Mav meet my dads. Ron, Tom, and Chris Seresin.”
Goose snaps out of it before Mav does. “Good to see you guys again. Congrats on all the promotions.” He shakes everyone’s hands, “didn’t know you had a kid Tom.”
Tom smiles, he ruffles Jake’s hair, “yeah. Didn’t talk about it.” Jake smacks at his tata’s hand, “shut it.”
Bradley raises his hand from where he’s sitting behind them. Ron points “clone of Goose go ahead.” Bradley thinks for a second, “y’all can’t like permanently ruin me if I ask this right?”
Tom laughs. “Oh I can but I’ll let it slide tonight.”
Bradley nods. “Are y’all all together?”
Jake blinks at Bradley, “you’re dumber then you look aren’t you.”
“Jake I swear to god I don’t care that your dads are here I’ll kick your ass.” “I’d love to see you try Roo.”
Chris claps his hands together. “Boys!”
They both blush. “To answer Bradley’s question, yeah we are.”
Mav leans over to Ron. “Were you guys together when we were at top gun?”
Tom answers from where he’s leaning against Ron. “Kinda. Ron and I were hooking up but he was with Chris. Didn’t realize I could have both of them until Chris called me a fucking idiot and kissed me when we got back to Texas.”
Goose blinks. “Oh my god.” He points at Jake. “That’s why he has that evil grin you guys both have.”
Jake laughs. “You nailed it old man.”
Bradley blinks again. “Wait a second you’re also a nepotism baby!”
Tom glances at Jake, “he’s not wrong.” “Hey! Don’t agree!”
Mav tilts his head. “How the hell did I not know this?” Chris answers this again. “Wanted to keep him safe from the navy. Biology wise he’s my nephew, so we just kept our last name. Didn’t ever marry legally.”
Ron kisses the side of Tom’s head, “there was that hippy dippy wedding we did though.” Tom laughs and pulls Chris under his arm, “that was a fun wedding.”
They break off into chatting in polish, Jake tries to not hear what they’re saying. He smiles as he watches his dads. Bradley touches his elbow. “I’m sorry. I was a real dick.”
Jake laughs. He taps his fingers on Bradley’s chest. “Not like I was an angel but you had it coming. Needed you to jump off that cliff you were standing at.”
Bradley and Jake hug, Chris leans back and kisses both of his men. “Think he’ll be okay?” Ron tucks Chris in between them. “Yeah they’ll work it out.”
“Sexually.”
“Tom I swear to god.”
Chris laughs. “He’s not wrong it’s like watching you two.”
There’s a chorus of heys but Chris just keeps smiling. He catches the rest of the daggers looks. “Go on get me a drink, I think we’re about to be interviewed.”
{Warnings: Swearing, Break-up Mentions, Crying, very thin hotel walls, Fear, Smut & Fluff, Roderick Regretting Sharing a room across from his little sister, Charlie being a shy girl, Past Relationship problems, swearing}
{WC: I think like 700 or 900 and or 1k+}
{Pairing: Hook and Charlotte "Char-Char" Strong}
Summary: Roderick sets up his younger sister with Hook, since their about the same age, and he regrets those choices. (Roddy Met Hook via The Best Friends, that's why he knows Hook)
[Charlie's POV:]
I was meeting with some friend of my Older Brother, Roddy was taking me to a Locker Room with some friend he's known for about two years, I was a little shy.. as I had just gotten out of a relationship of 1 year, I don't really wanna go into detail about it, but it was a little bad, so I'm now quite uncomfortable with an age gap of over 3 years..
Anyways, My brother opens the locker room door. Matt & Mike are there and Roddy tells them to watch me, he's going to get the "Friend". I sat in awkward silence with Matt and Mike for around 30 minutes, Only sound in the cramped up room was Mike's TikTok from his phone.
[Hook's POV:]
Roderick was yapping my ear off about how great this experience was going to be, How his little sister would be the perfect match for me. Little did he know, I put my airpod in like 20 minutes ago, and I've been listening to my music more than his yapping and shit.
"Roddy, listen. I'm sure your little sister is a sweetheart, but if you keep fucking yapping, she'll hear us like a mile away." I sighed
"Ok I'm sorry- I get carried away" He replied
I didn't really care about anything else, but the parts about his sister's past relationship, I swore under my breath if I saw that fucker I'd destroy his life.
But we kept walking closer and closer to the locker room.
I suddenly had a small bit of nervousness in my gut, but I tried to ignore it as best as possible.
♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|♡|
[Charlie's POV:]
Its been awhile since we talked back at the arena, and Hook kinda set up a night for us in my Hotel Room, I was a little nervous. But I just got out of the Shower when I heard a knock at the door, I opened it curiously and saw Hook. I panicked and closed the door, but Hook stopped the door with his foot. I was in a thin ass towel, on the verge of tears. Trapped like a Mouse in a corner by a cat..
"Please... don't..." I said quietly
"Baby, I'm not that asshole.." He said lightly tracing shapes into my back
"I-I'm sorry.. It's just.. my life hasn't been the same since the whole situation, I couldn't even leave my brothers house at a point." I admitted with a sob
"It'll be okay.. You can take as much time as you need baby." He reassured, Holding me close..
{Smallest Time skip}
"Ah..." I gasped out
"See I'm not him.." He said
"I trust you~ and only you.." I said
"I'm glad.." he said
[Roderick's POV:]
"Gahh~ harder.." I heard through the wall
I am currently regretting picking the room right across from my little sister's, I also regret setting up the two lovebirds. Like Jesus. They just met and are alread-
"Yesss!~" Again through the wall
"Get a Room you two!" I shouted towards the wall
"We do have a room Roddy! Somebody wasn't using their thinking cap" I heard from my own sister
"You've got a point." I replied
Anyways, I'm going back to dreading my life
{The Next Morning}
[Charlie's POV:]
I stirred awake groggily, Thanks to my new boyfriend getting up to order us breakfast, and also help me get dressed, I might be taking some time off after last night, my legs are really sore. But, hey. I got a good man, he got up before me to get breakfast and help me get dressed, wonder how my brother feels right now.
"How the actual fuck did you two stay up all night to do that?" Roderick Growled
"We're night owls ya dumbass." I chuckled
"You two better not do that tonight. I have a match tomorrow on rampage!" He said
"There's no promises here Rodds" I said
"Don't you fucking dare tonight, I will bust through the walls and stop you two." He said, his usual choice of words when I do this shit, haha.
Sadly the end :( y'all want part 2?
Skating Around Us
Summary: An Asher x Baabe Fic. Asher is a hockey player and Baabe is a figure skater. @itsdaifuku is the reason for this fic!!!
THE FINAL PART
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
It had been about two months since the qualifiers and many a competition had been had since to further themselves to final. They had been putting in a lot of hard work to perfect their free program. They all wanted (needed) to have a contrasting performance to what they did. Lovely and Vincent would be doing a performance of a compilation from the Moulin Rouge musical, Angel would be doing an old time piece and Babe would be, well it’s a surprise.
Asher and Babe had grown so much closer, finally putting a title on what they were and spending more and more time at the others house. Angel was doing the same with David, just a little more conspicuously, or as conspicuous as Angel could be.
Today was the day of the hockey finals. It came down to the Dahlia Wolves against the LA Misfits. Babe heard Tank complain about an ex named Quinn who was the captain of said team.
“You got this Ash! I believe in you!” Babe leaned in and kissed his cheek.
“Thanks Babe,” he said kissing them softly before heading off to the locker room.
This was probably going to be the most important match in Asher’s life this far. This was for the California state championship. He wanted to win. He could practically taste it.
Babe walked off toward the benches, they couldn’t help but over hear the conversations of Asher’s teammates on their way.
“Davey, it’s gonna be ok. You got this! I know you’re nervous and that’s ok! But you are amazing, and you will do amazing! You got this!” They pulled him in for a tight hug before pushing him off to the lockers.
“I know Sam…. I know, I’ll be careful.” Tank told the doctor as he held their face. “But I’m still gonna kick some ass.” They grinned up at him.
“I would expect nothin less.” They quickly hugged him before running off to the locker room.
They arrived at their groups spot in the middle, Angel joining them soon after. Vincent and Lovely had opted out tonight as they wanted to get in some extra rehearsal.
The game started out pretty normally. It was fast paced and aggressive, slightly more aggressive than normal. You could tell that both teams wanted it. They were leaving it all out on the ice. The first breakaway Asher had he had missed when the player behind him used their stick to hook him. Fortunately they were able to get the goal anyways, as it resulted in a penalty shot. They achieved one other goal while the opposing team was down one man. Bringing the score to 2-0 by the end of the first period.
During the second period they were able to score twice when Quinn got a check in on Tank. They looked a little disoriented after that and Sam looked like he was gonna jump out of his seat. Fortunately they got back in the game and Cristian scored their third goal.
“YOU GOT THIS WOLVES!!” Angel yelled out getting to nervous to stay quiet.
Babe was bouncing their leg up and down to try to remain calm. They were holding their breath as if one gust of wind would send the puck into the wrong net. The ref blew the whistle signaling the end of the second period. The score was 3-2 and neither team was giving up. Angel stood up and began pacing, trying to get their jitters out. Sam started taking large drinks of his water bottle because his throat kept getting dry.
As the whistle sounded both teams went at it. It was like watching two flames, each one trying to burn the other. At this point Tank has been in the penalty box twice, David twice, and Asher Once. Quinn’s has been in the box three times, two of his other teammates also making the same number of visits.
Quinn was able to get free and score two more goals. They were now a point ahead. That was when Asher’s lineup was put back in. The misfits were pushing hard and the wolves were playing a solid defense now. The misfits goalie left the net to push up as well and that was when Milo received the puck and shot it across the rink. Everyone watched as the puck soared and hit the back of the net. Sweetheart jumped off the benches and cheered so loud the group could hear them from the other side of the rink. Milo pumped his fist in the air and the stadium went wild. The score was now tied and there were thirty seconds left in the game. They quickly got in position. 29, 28, 27, 26, 25.
The puck moved around the rink the dominance switching from side to side. 24,23,22,21,20. The misfits shot and Milo blocked it deflecting it to tank. Quinn skated towards them, but couldn’t get to them as they passed it over to David. 19,18,17,16,15,14,13. David was trying to find an opening when Christian moved over, ready to receive the puck. 12, 11, 10,9,8,7. He skated forward as two defenseman skated over to him. He shot the puck between the space between the two and it was received by Asher. 6,5,4. It was him and the goalie. He moved the puck to the side the goalie diving the wrong way. He moved his stick forward and shot the puck. 3,2,1!!! GOAAAAAAAAAL!!!!! The official California State Champions Dahlia Wolves. The ref blew the whistle and the crowed roared. The entire team skated out and tackled Asher to the ground. Both teams then exchanged fist bumps and good games, as the trophy was brought out. The entire team posed with his taking photos and taking turns holding it completing interviews and such in the process. They headed back to the locker room and Angel, Sam, and Babe, made their way out to the lobby. The first pair that got out was Milo and Sweetheart. They began kissing his cheek and squeezing him tight the moment he joined their side. They ran off back to his car. They would probably have a celebratory party next week.
Next Tanker came out, lip a little cut, eye and shoulder partially bruised. You could see it under their tank top. Sam walked over to them and hugged them tight.
“Congrats Darlin! You played like a rockstar tonight!” He smiled at them. They leaned up to kiss him, pausing, waiting for permission. He met them half way and they smiled bright. The two then headed out the glass doors.
The only two were Angel and Babe. Luckily for them, their boyfriends came out at the same time. Angel immediately ran over and jumped into David’s arms, not caring about the bags he was holding. They littered his face with soft kisses.
“Con-grats- Da-v-ey.” They said in between kisses.
“Thanks Angels.” He said chuckling lightly to himself. “Now get off so we can go home. You need rest if you’re gonna compete tomorrow.” He said as he grabbed their hand and led them away.
Babe waited for Asher to come over to them, not wanting to knock his bags out of his hands. He walked over with the biggest smile on his face and dropped his bags picking them up and spinning them around. They threw their arms around his shoulders and held on for dear life. He laughed, a genuine, loud, happy laugh. He set them down after a few moments and they reached a hand up to his face.
“I love you Babe.” He said, his voice softer than normal.
“I love you too Ash.” They looked at him letting their hand slide down his arm slowly before playing with his fingers. “I’m glad you won,” they looked up at him with big doe eyes and a siren smile. He quickly grabbed their hand and led them to their car. They opened the trunk and he put his bags in it before pushing them to sit down and kissing them passionately. It was fiery, and intense and so full of love. His lips were soft, his touch was soft, he was intoxicating. When the kiss finally broke they were both panting for air. Babe got out of the trunk. They kissed him on the cheek one last time before walking over and opening his door for him. “After you…” they grinned.
His face flushed and he stepped in grinning ear to ear, “Why thank you!”
——
“You got this babe! You’re gonna do great!” He smiled at his partner before sending them off to the locker room. They were the last person to perform that day.
Earlier Vincent and Lovely performed a duet to ‘El Tango De Roxane.’ They wore black and red outfits, their hair yelled back. Their tops had red diamonds on them, Vincent’s had diamonds stretching onto his right arm and lovely had red diamonds stretching onto their left arm. Lovely had black eye liner with bright red lipstick and Vincent had black eye liner and a more natural lip tone. As per usual they were perfectly in sync. They worked like two pieces of the same machine. Their lifts were so clean, especially the one where he spun lovely around after lifting them on the air. They finished with Vincent dipping lovely, their hand extended to the ground, their other hand around his neck.
After the duos were done it was time for Angel and Babes category.
“How are you doing Skates?” Angel asked changing into their outfit. They wore high waisted tan pants with overalls, a white shirt, and green bow tie, paired with brown skates. They had their hair all pinned back with a red lip and black eye liner.
“I’m good. I’m nervous but I’m excited!” They said to their friend. “And you?”
“I’ll never be more ready. Geez this is like the biggest skate of our lives!! I’m so nervous but there is something thrilling about it.” They answered eyes practically sparkling.
They ended up skating to the song ‘That Man’ by Caro Emerald. It was a swing piece and one that Babe actually suggested. Angel performed like they never had before. There was not one mistake, not one error. It was so precise and thrilling to watch them go. Their technique was absolutely perfect and their outfit read really well from the ice. Babe was sure that if they didn’t win Angel would. IF they didn’t win.
Now it was their turn. They had just stepped out into the hallway when they saw ash coming out from the bathroom. He reassured them before giving them a kiss and leaving. “I love you!!” He yelled.
“I love you more!!” They yelled back laughing.
They were getting ready to go out on the ice. Seeing the person in front of them just finishing. Babe noticed that the performer before them kept stopping and reaching down at the ice, kicking at it a bit, but they assumed that the skater was fixing their skate. Babe walked passed them and stepped onto the ice. They were wearing sparkly gold skates that matched their leotard which was a sheer gold with golden gems across the chest. Golden vines on the sleeves, and on the back was a ruched piece of fabric that gave the effect of a train. Their hair was pulled out of their face, and their eye shadow was gold with a black eye liner and a pink lip. They were skating to the song ‘Golden Hour’ by JVKE. It was a song that Asher suggested to them. They circled the ice a few times, noting that if felt a little off, but maybe it was just their nerves. They skated over to Will and he gave them a pep talk.
“Listen Skates, I am so proud of you! You have accomplished so much and pushed yourself beyond my wildest dreams for what you could become. I know it’s not over yet, but I am proud. No go out there and Skate your but off.” He smiled at them.
“Thanks Will! I’ll do my best.” They shot him a thumbs up as they skated to the middle of the rink. They got in their starting pose. Their left arm was bent, elbow pointing up and hand coming to the bottom of their jaw. Their right leg was crossed behind their left. Their head was facing the same direction as their right hand which was extended in the direction of their boyfriend Asher. The moment the keys played they pushed off, circling their spot before moving forward, they danced to the music in a way that made them look like a literal Angel.
Asher was breathless watching them move. It was like he was watching light come into his life for the first time again. They moved so gracefully, they looked so ethereal. Too good to be true. They went for their first jump combo, a quad lutz into a triple toe loop. It went very well better than they have before. They transitioned from a bullet spin into a full split upright. Then they moved down the rink doing a small skip and pushed their arms forward. They then leaned forward, grabbing their leg and holding it behind them as they soared around the rink. They then built up for their next jump combo a triple salchow into a double axel. From that they draped their hands over their head and rounded heading back to the other side, they did a layback spin into a Biellmann spin. They then moved fast and stopped pushing just holding their arms out to make an extended shape with their body. Then it was time for their final jump a quad flip, when they went to take off they noticed the ice in that part of the rink felt uneven, and when they took off their skate hooked into the dip and they flew forward, they spun out of control in the air and their face smacked the ice first. A loud crack could be heard. Adrenaline was coursing through them.
‘Oh shit’ they thought ‘Get back up!’ They stood back up and pushed off. All they had left was a camel spin into a flying sit spin. They completed it. It was shaky and not as good as they have done it before, but they did it. They rose back to their feet reaching up and looking up, their other arm draped at their side. It was then that they realized something wet was on their face. It tasted salty. So salty. The audience was quiet, and they could hear soft whispers. They then realized someone was talking to them. They hadn’t moved had they? He was talking to them. Look at him? It’s William. He looks worried, then they realize the ice is becoming closer and closer. Oh shit.
——
When they woke up, they were in a familiar room. They recognized the white walls and ceiling along with the blue curtains. The soft linens and mattress. They were in the medical room. They felt someone grasp their hand a little tighter.
“Babe?” Asher spoke from beside them.
“A…Ash?” They said coming out of their haze.
“Oh thank God.” He stood up to get closer, moving his unoccupied hand to their face. “How are you feeling?”
“Fine…” they said despite not feeling fine. They felt like they got their face punched in. “What happened?”
“The quad flip didn’t go as planned…” he said rubbing the back of their hand.
“Right… the ice, it felt so weird, like uneven and patchy…” they squinted remembering what happened.
“Yeah, your coach noticed that when he stepped over to you so he had the competition staff run an investigation. Turns out the person before you was kicking up the ice and putting bad dents in it.”
“Did they announce the winners?” They asked him. He let out a small laugh and ran a hand through their hair.
“Yeah, they left to get their medals a little bit ago.” Asher informed. Just then they heard the door click.
“Alright I got some ice for when they wake up an some pain killers. Lookin at the X…rays…” Sam stopped talking as he noticed the figure in front of him, very awake. “How are ya doin?” He asked. “Be honest.”
“I’ve been better but… not my worst haha.” They laughed and instantly regretted it.
“I seriously doubt that,” he looked at them and held up the x ray. “Your nose is broken and you got a grade three concussion. We did some scans and it looks like your brain function is fine, but Asher I want you to keep an eye on em. If anything happens, take them to the ER right away.”
“Got it.” Asher said. “Looks like you aren’t escaping me. You’re staying at David and I’s apartment!!” He cheered trying to keep his voice down low as to not ass to their probable headache. Just then the door opened and in walked David, Angel, Tank, Vincent, Lovely, William, Milo, and Sneaks. Babe looked up at them trying not to frown.
“Hey Skates, how ya doin?” Milo spoke first.
“I’m fine. Better than ever.” They smiled.
“Haha,” Angel laughed Sarcastically.
“So you won?” Babe raised their eyebrow smiling at their friend.
“Yeah, I did.” Angel smiled.
“Congrats!!” Babe said genuinely. They were so happy for their friend and they reached out to hug them. When they hugged they noticed Angel slipped something around their neck. It was shiny and silver and had a big fat number two on it.
“What’s this?” They asked shock scanning their features.
“Well, you racked up enough points before the fall and actually almost won you were off by five points. So you ended up in second.” Angel cheered.
“Thank you!! I love you all so much!!”
They all exchanged encouragement and congratulations for their friend before heading out. Asher helped them into their car, sitting them on the passenger seat. When Ash got in the drivers seat they looked at him.
“Ash what are you doing?” They questioned.
“I’m driving, I learned about a month ago. Got my license and everything. I wanted to surprise you, ideally on a date, but this works too.” He smiled at them. They leaned forward to give him a quick kiss and he tilted his head, ever careful of their bruising broken nose that’s all wrapped up. He then moved down and peppered kisses down their neck. “I love you. So much!” He stared at them. “Thank you for coming into my life.”
“Thank you for keeping me in your life! Let’s plan to keep it this way. I love you so much Asher.” He smiles at them in return kissing them one last time.
‘I love you so much more than words can say babe’
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO @itsdaifuku !! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED WRITING THIS SERIES!! You do amazing work and I love seeing you post!! You are so incredible and I truly admire you and you work!!
Stuck In The Middle - Part 6
Hook x Y/N x Ricky Starks
Part 5
After the awkward interview with Hookhausen, Y/N looks to move on and focus on her friendship with the women on the roster.
Tumblr media
I walk backstage, shaking my head in disbelief after what I believe was Hook's attempt at flirting. I'm so thankful for Danhausen's quick-witted response that saved me from further embarrassment. I will have to thank him later, but for now, I just need to walk away from the situation.
I walk by catering and snag a water bottle before Willow Nightingale skips over. "Hey, Y/N, how's it going?"
I smile at the happy-go-lucky woman as she bites into an apple. "Overall, pretty good. But the interview I just got thrown into... yikes! I just hope I don't get in trouble somehow."
Willow tilts her head to the side and sighs. "Well, everyone I have talked to has only said good things about you, and Tony can't expect you to be perfect in every interview. You said you got thrown into the interview?"
I nod as I take a sip of water. "Lexi isn't feeling well, so I had to take her place with a 2 minute warning."
Willow nods, and we continue talking about the interview for a bit. I was expecting to avoid the topic, but something about Willow just makes me trust her and want to open up to her like I have with Ruby.
We seemed to have lost track of time as we were still talking when the show finished and the wrestlers came through to grab the last few snacks that were left. I kept my head down as I saw Ricky walking towards us with his usual confident stride. "Hello, ladies. Did you enjoy my match tonight?"
I rolled my eyes before standing up and coming face to face with him. "Ricky, now is not the time nor place for your shameless flirting. I've had a rough night, so I'm going to walk away from this conversation and go back to my hotel room. Got it?"
Ricky watches me walk away with a confused yet worried look on his face, as I have never shown this side of me to anyone in AEW. He is about to say something when Willow places her hand on his shoulder. "Don't even think about it, Starks. If she wants to talk to you about it, then she will reach out. She needs some space from this love triangle bullshit."
Ricky gulps as he has also never seen Willow this stern and serious. He nods and walks the other direction as Willow jogs to catch up with me. I go into the women's locker room with Willow, and we quickly grab our bags and find Ruby Soho for us in the hallway. The 3 of us head to a diner and get some late night food in our systems before Willow goes to the hotel, and Ruby insists on me staying with her tonight.
Once we get back to Ruby's house, I feel exhausted, so I get ready for bed and quickly end up passed out in her guest bedroom. Meanwhile, Ruby seems to have some tricks up her sleeve.
Ruby's POV
I sigh in relief as I check to see if Y/N has fallen asleep in the guest bedroom. I see she left her phone on the nightstand, so I pick it up and see it is at 13%. I take her phone and plug in the charger right as a notification from Hook pops up. I didn't mean to snoop, but I had to read it.
Hook: Y/N, I'm so sorry about the interview. I would like to meet up tomorrow and explain myself if you are available and willing to hear me out.
I roll my eyes as I put the phone back on the nightstand and walk out of the room, leaving Y/N to sleep peacefully. I grab my phone and text Eddie, asking him to call me. Not even 5 minutes later, my phone is ringing, and I have to quickly answer it to avoid waking Y/N up. I go sit down on the couch as I tell Eddie about everything going on. I can hear how tired he is, so I decide to skip some details and get to the point.
"Eddie, if she does meet up with Hook, it will go one of two ways. Either she hears him out, and he has a good reason, so she forgives him, and they get closer. OR he has a bullshit excuse, and she turns into a loose cannon."
"Ruby, why are you involving me in this high school drama bullshit? She is a grown woman who can defend herself if needed. What's the point of this?"
"Eddie, she is still the newest woman in AEW, and she doesn't have many close friends yet. I just want to make sure if anything goes sour, you and Ortiz will have her back."
I smile and simply respond, "Goodnight Ed-" before he hangs up on me. I shake my head and text Willow, asking when she is flying out.
I can practically hear his eyes rolling before he groans, "Fine. Let me know where they are going, and we might show up just in case. Now, can a man get some decent sleep for fucks sake?"
"Hey Ruby, I don't leave until Friday. What are you planning?"
I tell her about the text from Hook and explain that we should be ready for a girls' night no matter the outcome. Willow excitedly agrees and suggests we have our own mini party at my house. We decide everything else will have to depend on what happens tomorrow and decide to go to sleep.
The next morning - Y/N's POV
I woke up from a dream about Ricky and Hook fighting over me in the ring, and I was flustered, to say the least. They were acting like I was the FTW belt, and they were fighting to win me. I'm a human being, not some toy, so I started to try to walk away from the ring when I realized I was handcuffed to the ropes.
I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes as I tried to adjust to the real world again. I reach over and find my phone full of notifications. I swiped them all away until I saw Hook's text. I opened it and contemplated how to respond for a few minutes before deciding I will meet up with him.
Y/N: Where do you want to meet?
Hook: How about we get breakfast at IHOP?
I begrudgingly get up from my bed to go find Ruby. She has coffee brewing in the kitchen as she grabs some cereal. "Good morning, Y/N. How did you sleep?"
I shrug my shoulders and simply show her the text messages from Hook. She nods and looks up at me, rubbing my face out of worry. "I guess I'm going to IHOP. Can you give me a ride?"
Ruby nods before digging into her cereal. "You go get ready. I'll eat my cereal and meet you in the car."
I smile before returning to the guest room and texting Hook to tell him I can be there in 30 minutes. He responds with a thumbs up, and I quickly get ready for the day. Ruby and I drive over to IHOP, and I get out of the car to see Eddie and Ortiz walking into the restaurant as well. Eddie sees me and smiles before holding the door open. "Good choice for breakfast, new girl."
I laugh and almost forget why I'm here until I see Hook waving his arm in the air. "Sorry to leave you two so soon, but someone has some explaining to do."
Eddie nods and gives me a side hug before I walk over to join Hook. I sit across from him and nervously play with the utensils as I decide how to start this conversation. Luckily, Hook hates awkward silence, so he sighs before starting to explanation.
"I'm so so sorry, Y/N. I never meant to embarrass you last night. I was expecting Lexi to be the interviewer, and Ricky got me all riled up as I walked backstage. I don't think I've ever tried that said excuse for a pickup line in my life. It's just... Ricky... he gets under my skin."
I nodded as I listened to him, and I could tell he was genuinely upset with how his actions affected me. "Hook, I'm not mad at you. I'm more confused than anything. You weren't yourself last night, and it threw me for a loop. Honestly, I'm still trying to get comfortable with my position in the company, and the distractions aren't making it any easier."
Hook nods and leans forward. "How can I help you feel more comfortable?"
I smile nervously, "I want to focus on making strong friendships. Do you think we can be friends? At least for now."
Hook nods as he chews on his bottom lip.
I reach for his hand and make sure he looks me in the eyes before I continue. "I promise, I'm not looking for a relationship with anyone right now. I just got out of a toxic one, and I need time to heal. It's nothing personal against you."
He smiles slightly and nods before the waitress comes over to take our orders. We decide to make small talk to get to know each other as friends and find we have a lot in common. We were talking about Hook's first few appearances in AEW when I see a flash out of the corner of my eye. I look over to see an AEW fan taking a picture of the 2 of us.
Feb 11 — Sore (from night before)
Dustjim
CW: A/B/O, knotting, nsfw
Jim wakes to the feeling of Dustin’s hand between his legs.
He grunts, pressing his knees together and pinning Dustin’s wrist.
“Sore,” he mumbles, too tired to open his eyes, and Dustin wiggles his fingers, clearly impatient.
“I’ll be gentle,” he promises and Jim doesn’t believe him, not after the night they’ve just had.
Jim turns his face into his pillow, hoping that Dustin will get the hint, but Dustin just leans in and presses a trail of kisses along Jim’s exposed throat instead.
“What if I don’t knot you this time?”
Jim blows out a breath because he’s heard that more than once, but Dustin has never yet kept his word — usually because Jim ends up begging for it, but that's not really the point.
Jim groans and rolls onto his stomach and Dustin plasters himself against Jim’s back, hands gently spreading his thighs.
“C’mon, Jim,” he pleads and it’s clear he’s not all of the way out of his rut yet.
Jim’s body is already responding to Dustin’s attention, getting him wet between the legs, and Dustin swipes a finger through the worst of it, groaning like he can’t help it.
“Jim,” he pleads and Jim finally caves and nods.
“Fine,” Jim says, spreading his legs, and Dustin groans his thanks almost directly into Jim’s ear.
To be fair, Dustin’s fingers are gentle as he slips two into him, but he immediately focuses on Jim’s prostate, making him grind against the mattress, getting him hard in no time at all.
Jim grunts, annoyed at how easily Dustin understands him, and Dustin kisses him just below the ear.
“I’ll be quick,” Dustin promises, the bed shifting as Dustin moves, and it barely takes any effort for Dustin to pull his fingers free and slip his cock inside, Jim’ body giving way as though made for it.
Jim moans, voice muffled by his pillow, arching back as Dustin barely thrusts, just grinds against him. It makes Jim feel full and for barely a second, he thinks about telling Dustin to just go ahead and knot him. But he bites his bottom lip and keeps the words in.
Dustin leans down, worrying at Jim’s throat, leaving a mark that will no doubt cause an endless amount of mockery from the locker room during the week.
“Maybe my ruts wouldn’t last so long if you didn’t feel so good,” Dustin tells him, making Jim smile.
“Yeah?” Jim replies. “It’s not because — ”
“No,” Dustin interrupts. “No, it’s definitely because of you.”
Jim groans and lifts his hips just enough to free his trapped cock, and Dustin hooks his hand under him, pulling him up just a little further, like he might actually try to knot him.
Jim goes weak from it, instincts going wild as Dustin tugs him around, putting him where he wants him.
Jim pushes back, letting out a frustrated, “Move,” until Dustin gets the hint and shifts back enough to let Jim get on his hands and knees.
“Like this,” Jim tells him and Dustin blows out a breath — maybe a laugh — against the back of his neck.
“You’re not too sore?” he asks and Jim swears at him.
“Shut up,” he grunts. “You gonna fuck me or what?”
Dustin outright laughs then, but starts to move with purpose, fucking Jim with the same kind of intensity he had the night before.
Jim’s body aches and protests and he decidedly ignores it when Dustin gets a hand on him, stroking him in time.
“Not gonna last,” Dustin tells him and Jim makes a noise of agreement.
“You wanna — ?” Jim asks and this time Dustin doesn’t laugh at him.
“Please,” he begs. “Can I?”
Jim nods, spreading his knees just a little further apart, angling his hips just right for when Dustin pushes forward, knot pressing at Jim’ rim until it finally slips inside.
Jim moans, head hanging down, coming into Dustin’s palm like it’s yanked out of him.
“Dustin,” he pleads and Dustin pants against his skin, lips dragging across him like he might be nodding instead of answering aloud.
Dustin's knot feels impossibly large inside him, especially so soon after he’s come, but Dustin shoves forward, clearly trying to get it as deep into him as he can, and then starts to lose it.
He bites at Jim’s shoulder and Jim takes it, loving that he’s the one that makes Dustin react this way. Dustin comes for him and him alone.
Jim breathes heavily, heart rate slowly dropping back to normal as Dustin clings to him.
“Fuck,” Dustin exhales and Jim reaches back to pat at his thigh.
“Ouch,” he says blandly and Dustin scoffs.
“Whose fault is that? You can’t blame me.”
“I can,” Jim grunts and Dustin laughs. “I can blame you for anything.”
“Okay,” Dustin agrees. “C’mon.”
He grabs Jim around the waist and Jim grunts as he’s manhandled onto his side, Dustin’s knot tugging, refusing to let go.
“Be mad at me later, ‘cause we’re stuck for a while.”
“I can be mad and stuck,” Jim argues and Dustin tangles his legs between Jim’s own and presses a kiss to his shoulder.
“Okay,” he agrees again. “Have fun being angry, I’m gonna nap.”
Jim grumbles half-heartedly, but a nap does sound good now. He reaches back for one of Dustin’s arms, pulling it around his waist as he settles.
Dustin kisses his shoulder again and Jim can feel the curve of his smile.
Another preview for my current Hookhausen fanfic I'm working on. (Some writing could be subject to change)
Soon as the door was shut, Hook brought his fist to the nearest locker with intent to bruise his knuckles until they shone inky purple. Anything would be better than feeling what he was feeling, over a damn bag of chips. Hook must've really had lost it. But none of that would've been possible if Danhausen would've just left him alone like he asked, it could've all been avoided. But, no. He kept following him around, he kept trying to get in his head.
He thought he had the upperhand he thought he had immediate control of the situation. He believed that he would just have to fight him, defeat him to a point where he would no doubtly be forced to give up on this facade.
But even their supposed match went awry. That dumbass Tony Nese and his nuisance of a lawyer, they just had to ruin everything, and god damn Danhausen for trying to gain his trust, for trying to get him to be his friend, his partner.
News flash: he didn't do friends and he certainly didn't do tag team partners. Or so, he believed. He glanced at his new found bruise on his knuckles
"You should put some ice on that." He glanced up to discover the bane of his existence, the reason why he's beginning to feel this way in the first place. "What the fuck do you want? Haven't you caused enough problems?" He pressed a pressed a finger to his lips. "No swearing."
Hook shaked his head in annoyance "Danhausen just wanted to make sure that Hook was okay. He heard lots of thrashing around and loud noises" Putting his hand through his hair he attempted to get Danhausen out of his line of sight but it didn't work since he was still there
"I'm fine, or I was just two minutes ago until you showed up"
"Don't lie to Danhausen. You can't hide that bruise from him. Danhausen knows everything" he despised how he could read him like an open book.
"Okay fine, I punched one of the lockers out of anger, and that's the truth. Are you happy now?" Danhausen eyed Hook naively, "why would Hook do such a thing?" He glared at him intensely. As Danhausen shrugged his shoulders not recalling what he's done these last few weeks.
"You're telling me that you don't remember following me around in my locker room numerous times, following my uber driver that one time, and may I remind you that time you disguised yourself as a waiter during lunch with my dad. You don't remember that?" He briefly scratched at his eyebrow attempting to act all oblivious "um, no." Hook tried to conceal his grin that was determined to break free "you know, you're ridiculous. You know that right?"
"When has Danhausen been ridiculous? He was telling the truth. Are you trying to blame Danhausen?" Instantly scoffing under his breath, he quickly hit him with the same hand that he used against the locker prior to this conversation. Causing him to groan in pain "no I wasn't, but stop playing dumb already--ugh" His foolish comical act dropped very quickly "alright, enough. Danhausen is going to take you down to the medics, to get you checked out."
"It's not that bad, just a little bruise. I'll be fine" Danhausen hates how stubborn Hook is. "It's clearly not fine, you're obviously in pain. That is why, Danhausen will take his good friend Hook to the medic place and get him checked out."
"First off, we're not friends I never agreed to that--" Danhausen covertly glared at him, believing that he was just lying to himself. "Secondly, I'm a grown man, I can take of myself--" that was until he felt the stinging in his knuckles "it doesn't look like it from here. Thus Danhausen has decided that he will no longer listen to Hook's plea's and excuses. Danhausen has heard enough, you're going to get your hand checked out before it gets worse." Hearing Danhausen being serious for once. Directly caught him off guard
To make sure that Hook understood him. He grabbed his hand. As he briskly dragged him out of the locker room and down the hallway.
