Tumgik
#because what does that then change about your childhood/all the happy memories etc
Note
wibta if i went behind my dad’s back and contacted my disowned brother?
so i (23m) had an older brother we’ll call J. i have quite vague memories of him, going to visit him at his house, him giving me gifts. i still have two gifts i got from him as a very little kid - a little disco ball that lights up your room with coloured lights, and a similar little nightlight thing that changes colours and looks like a firework. he got them for me because i was terrified of the dark.
i don’t remember him being disowned. i didn’t find out why until years later. i knew he was gay, and that my dad was massively homophobic back then (he accepts me being gay, but he still makes stupid comments about it, and he does Not like me being trans) so it was kinda implied to me that he was disowned for being gay especially because i was told about massive fights they’d had about it
when i was a little older i found out he’d been addicted to drugs. unsure what kind but it was pretty serious and he was getting into trouble with dealers in our area so he had to keep skipping town. eventually he developed drug-induced psychosis. the way my dad tells it he became convinced that people were hunting him down to kill him, that he was an important figure in some underground crime ring and he owned half the town, that the government was silencing him because they were scared of him etc it was causing some severe problems
he did go through psychiatric facilities a few times but nothing seemed to help him, he wouldn’t take medication, he didn’t want help. my dad eventually cut him off because in his words he couldn’t take it anymore, and my brother essentially disappeared from my life.
he reappeared in a way twice since then. when i was about 9 i got a phone call and i just remember him saying “[name]? it’s J. your brother” and i was so shocked and happy, passed the phone to my parents and him and my dad briefly reconnected and went out to lunch together a few times. however it didn’t seem to last long and my dad froze him out again, never said why.
then when i was about 13 he contacted me on facebook. it was under a fake name because since he left he’s changed his identity like a jillion times (which is why it’s hard to find him) because presumably he’s still running into issues with the law. he asked me how my dad was treating me and i can’t really remember what i said but i was probably pretty honest, at the time my dad was enormously abusive both verbally and physically and was for most of my childhood (not anymore). he said some weird things like that he’d always protect me, our dad was scared of him because he could beat him up, if i ever needed help just tell him and he’d “deal with” dad for me, etc. next thing i know cops are at my house saying they got a report i was being abused and they needed to ask some questions, but my mum was hovering over my shoulder the entire time and i was scared to get my dad in trouble so i froze up and said it wasn’t true and they left. after that my dad called my brother and basically told him to never come back and to never contact me again.
and he hasn’t. it’s been a decade since the last time i heard from him. for the most part i haven’t thought much about it, but for the last few months i’ve had constant dreams about him. it tears me up not knowing if he’s okay, if he still cares about me, if he Wants to come back and he’s just waiting for my dad to be gone, if he’s in love or married, if he’s gotten clean and medicated, if hes worse, i don’t know Anything. i’ve tried to find him as best i can, but because hes changed his name and i know nothing about where he lives or even solidly how old he is anymore i can’t even begin properly. i know my sisters are up for finding him too and have made posts on websites about reconnecting with relatives etc but with no luck. all the numbers i had for him are disconnected. i don’t even know what he looks like.
i asked my dad if he has any pictures of him, because i Know hes showed me some before, and he blew up at me. he said that J is violent and dangerous and that he doesn’t ever want to hear about me contacting him because it’s not fair to bring him back into his life (which is fair but also he’s become somewhat Toxic Self-Care the last few years like he literally let me become briefly homeless even though he is a landlord with empty houses because “helping you would stress me out i’m looking after myself” like sir WHAT) so i’ve never mentioned it to him again.
but i just. want to know how my brother is so bad. i think all the time about how different it could’ve been to grow up with a gay brother as a gay kid! to grow up with someone dealing with mental health when i started to and didn’t know what to do! to have someone understand my dad abusing me! to have someone who wanted to protect me!
part of me is scared of him showing up because i’m getting told about how violent he is and how he hates people so intensely for nothing and how far he’ll go to hurt them. but part of me is like - i don’t know how much of that is true! you guys originally told me he was cut off for being gay!
i’ve been doing little things like making all of my facebook posts public instead of friends only so if he’s looking he can see how i’m doing and what i look like. my family thinks he does look because sometimes they’ll get anonymous messages like after my parents divorced my mum would get messages acknowledging it and asking how she was doing and why it happened and she very strongly felt it was J kind of angling for Dirt On Dad™️. my dad thinks he reacted to one of his posts with an emoji once? it was like a laughing emoji on one of my dad’s wedding pictures LMAO so dude definitely still hates my dad.
but idk like. i’m not hidden yknow. he could’ve reached out. but maybe he thinks he’s not wanted because of my dad being there. raaargh.
i’ve been thinking about taking a dna test and seeing if he shows up. if he’s in the legal system he should be right?? but i don’t know how much that will help me with figuring out where he is now. like do i just. wait for my dad to pass away before i try to avoid crossing his boundaries 😭 he’s 73
tl;dr wibta if i went behind my dad’s back to try to find my potentially dangerous brother who seems to really want to put my dad in a paper shredder
What are these acronyms?

Exploring ASLFUA Through Symbolism - The Importance of Year 1999
Hello guys! :) I'm so happy for all the messages that I've received, and while many of you asked me to post theories, this one will rather be an observation about Unripe Apples, but I hope it will be interesting enough. :)
To start off, many people have noticed that the year the story takes place in, 1999, is referenced in the Korean title of After School Lessons. While it might seem insignificant at first, I firmly believe that there is a connection between what happens in the world and Miae's personal growth story. Let me explain.
The importance of 1999
1999 was a symbolic year for many reasons. It was the last year of the century, and many people celebrated the beginning of a new millenium (even if there are arguments supporting 2001 as the start of it). When something long ends, it means that something new also starts. 1999 was a transition period in the minds of many - some people believed the end of the year would sign the end of humanity, like how it was highlighted in the first chapters of the webtoon as a joke. So aside from the obvious change in years, it also had a spritual aspect - ending one part of your old life, and starting anew as a different person, also moving on. Does it sound familiar? Because this is exactly what happens to Miae in the story.
Miae is in a transition period in her life - middle school is soon ending and she has to go to high school. She meets someone from her childhood who becomes her first love. And most importantly, Miae grows as a person while meeting new people and understanding their perspectives (or so she probably will, more about this later on). As a new century starts, Miae has to say goodbye to old friends and embrace new challenges. Which, if my prediction is correct, will mark the end of the story. The end of the year will mean a stage of Miae's life also concludes, while a new chapter will start (high school, new friends, new experiences, etc.) But how is it really presented for us readers?
The world revolves around Miae - until it doesn't
While Cheol and Miae are both protagonists of the story, one could argue Miae gets the most focus in the narrative. We see most of her thoughts, her memories, her interactions with others, her family, etc. While Cheol's growth is a big part of the story, his development is nearly concluded at the end of the first part. Cheol gains confidence, friends, he becomes more expressive, he falls in love. What we can expect from him is his confrontation with the school bully and the resolution of his romance with Miae. Cheol seems immature at first, but with Miae's help he learns and matures. On the other hand, Miae seemingly becomes more immature as the story progresses. It sounds contradictory, because I've just said she was the catalyst to Cheol's growth and has helped him understand when he was wrong. But Miae's world is limited, and it becomes even more obvious as the story unfolds.
Like any kid, Miae has problems that seem trivial for adults, but were probably concerns for a lot of us when we were at her age. She has to study although she hates it, likes hanging out with her friends and read comic books, wants to buy new things and falls in love. Her life is seemingly like a comic book - she feels like the protagonist, every encounter with Cheol feels fateful, and she can, even if it requires effort, befriend anyone and understand them. Like any other teenager, Miae feels like the center of her own universe and thinks the world is ending when she experiences negative feelings. It's part of growing up, and it is perfectly illustrated by the comic about the neighbours next door in the story. But growing up also means looking beyond our own limited world. While her encounters with Cheol seem like it was their destiny, many of them were created because of their families (Cheol's family moving there was probably because of their friendship, Cheol got his room because his sister wanted to tease him, etc.) Growing up means that you have to understand that not everything will go your way and not everything stays the same. Growing up means dealing with people whom you cannot understand and might not like you. And most importantly, you learn that life is not a fairy tale and conflicts do not get resolved without communication and feelings won't be understood unless you express them. Which is one of Miae's biggest weaknesses and the source of her immaturity.
Enter Seo Jisu
This is not a shipping post and I love all the characters, so please spare me before I get cancelled. Seo Jisu enters at the perfect time in the story, when Miae starts to lose her sense of boundaries as her feelings for Cheol keep growing. Although Jisu was in the story since the first chapter, Miae's limited universe did not acknowldege him even though they were classmates. She did not know his name, his reputation at school, doesn't remember him from her childhood and doesn't seem to care about him at all. But why did he enter at the perfect moment?
Like I've said, Cheol's catalyst was Miae, but Miae's world was still too small, revolving around Cheol too much. She was still insesitive in many ways and immature. Enter Jisu, Miae's catalyst for personal growth. Jisu is a challenge for Miae just like Miae was for Cheol, no surprise they mirror each other (Miae saying the same thing to Jisu as what Cheol said to Miae is the perfect example.) Miae cannot understand him, she thinks he's weird and wants him to stop following her (sounds familiar?) and makes assumptions about him without trying to talk or get to know him. And while Cheol put in effort to better his relationship with Miae, she does not do the same for Jisu. Jisu is a glitch in the system, one that was not expected and shakes her peaceful days (just like how Miae was the same for Cheol) However, Jisu's presence becomes an important learning opportunity for Miae. There's a reason why I think it was necessary to add him as a potential love interest even if there were already great candidates. And it's because Jisu is mature in ways Miae isn't. The perfect example is when he told her to stop interrupting the confession. And she thought about his words after the incident, and felt ashamed when she was talking to the girl who wanted to confess. And what would happen, let's say, if she realized Jisu was different because of his own circumstances, and not because he wanted to bully her? She knew Cheol wasn't a gangster because she knew him personally. For Miae's world to expand, she needs to make her own efforts and understand others.
The universe seems to like Miae, and interacts with her multiple times in her dreams. Miae is a precious child of the world who is loved, but needs guidance. Right now, as we approach the end of the year the story takes place in, Miae needs to mature and be ready for a new phase of her life. Whether the transition period will end with something (like her and Cheol parting ways) or start with something new (Miae and Cheol getting together at the end of 1999 and running around in circles through the majority of the year) - it doesn't matter. What matters is how she will develop as a person and what she will learn. It's beyond a simple love triangle, it's about people who inspire and help each other and learn from their mistakes. They are kids, they keep changing. The best way is to read ASLFUA as a growth story, not as a romance series, because at the end of the day what matters are the connections these kids create with each other and the memories they make.

hi, sorry to bother, but can you do a text version of the palletshipping week prompts? if there's one already, i can't find it ^^;; sorry again!
hi !! i never uploaded a text version of the prompts (i really should’ve because the font is rather difficult to read 😅 my apologies i hope this makes it easier to read !) luckily i did have them saved in my notes ! so here they are, no worries about a thing. have fun ! 🤗🤍
Palletshipping Week 2024
Day 1: Childhood Friends/Memories/Moving In/Living With Each Other/Roommates
this is two split topics, you can write about their childhood and or how they have developed their rivalry, love etc. or them
remembering such events. secondly, you can write about when they’d move in and start a life together! weather it’s just them as regular roommates or as lovers! perhaps even sharing a bed and it’s possible challenges!
Day 2: Kisses, Hugs, I Love You’s
this is a fluffy topic, think about their affection towards each other, how much they show it during their relationship or how they initially started to do so. this can be implemented as their firsts of firsts if you you’d like!
Day 3: Jealousy/Angst W/ Happy Ending
for this topic it’s not required to actually channel in angst. this can be a funny kind of jealousy or something a lot deeper as you’d please to describe and write! but think about who’s more of the jealous type? is it obvious? can it cause changes in their expressions? you decide!
Day 4: Coming Home/Going On A Journey
to me, shigesato is nothing if we don’t have a little long distance between them! i like to think about how they help one another prepare for a journey towards writing letters or sending gifts in distance! or how do they greet one another when coming home after a while? (this topic can be for either ash or gary, doesn’t need to strictly be ash going on the journey)
Day 5: Domestic/Sickness/Cooking/Sharing Favorite Food!
i love homey topics and for this one it’s for the fun of living with each other, weather one of them wakes up sick, how does the other deal with it? how do they keep it romantic as they are sick? or! with chaos involved, how do they do when they attempt to cook with each other? is it messy? or is one of them banned in the kitchen after haha. keep it cozy and loving.
Day 6: Telling about/Hiding their relationship from Professor Oak/Delia or (both)
palletshipping week wouldn’t be much if we don’t involve their two #1 shippers haha. how do they do when trying to hide their relationship? or does delia and professor oak already know? haha, how do they get to the point of telling them?
Day 7: AU/Free Day!
this topic is for you to write as you’d like! any cool palletshipping au’s?? or maybe a certain scenario you’d like to write of? there’s no strait rule on what your au should be or not, you can write a vampire au all the way to a classic rival to lovers fic. there’s no rules!

Been meaning to ask a few of these uncommon questions for a while – your ocs are very cool and I want to know more! But life keeps happening and distracting me :(
Could you answer 7 for Azrael and 2 for Asmo? And I'm interested in 21 for both! I'm also very curious about A and B too! Feel free to pick and choose if this is too much for one ask!
(and sorry if you've been asked these before!)
PS. Saw on twitter that you'd made the deadline for your VN work - congratulations!
Aaa that means so much and I'm glad you like my OCs. I hope things will get better for you soon. Hang in there, I'm rooting for ya!! ♥
7. What triggers nostalgia for Azrael, most often? Does he enjoy that feeling?
Food, I think! He didn't grow up with many good memories but food has always been very comforting throughout his childhood. Hmm, I believe that he does! It's more along the lines of bittersweetness.
2. How easy is it for Asmodeus to laugh?
So very very easy! Asmo is your resident goofy silly sunshiney boi. ; v ;;
21. Why do they get up in the morning?
Azrael - To take the doggos out for a jog and to go to work. The 2 things that actually bring him some form of joy! xD Az loves his kids and he loves his work. [ Copied from a previous ask ]
Asmodeus - To go to uni unwillingly...He was forced by his brother to pursue his degree. xD But getting to hang out with his friends and go to football practice makes going there worthwhile!
A) Why are you excited about this character?
Azrael - It's honestly just because I have always been very obsessed with Death. The Angel of Death is my absolute favourite "being" and they are automatically my favourite in whatever media they appear in.
My Azrael has gone through many changes over the years and my love and excitement for him has not stopped growing. He's just a character that ticks all the boxes for me! :>
Asmodeus - He actually makes me so damn happy- It makes no sense to me honestly! xD Is it weird to say that Asmo makes me want to become a better person? He's a kind, sweet and bubbly character that views the world in such a positive light...It's nice.
B) What inspired you to create them?
All of my OCs are actually AU versions of my Angel-verse! Hence, the (weird) biblical names!! I've changed most of their names to better suit the modern setting (e.g. Amadeo, Belvan, Josias etc.) which is reflected in all the VNs they've appeared in. And I'm sure you can tell that I can't seem to change my habit of calling them by their biblical names... xD
Thus I was inspired by the angels and demons to create my OCs' earliest renditions...But for the Uni-verse? I made the decision to move them over because it's just easier for me to create and develop them. (Without getting too many unwanted comments from people because it touches on religion...I unfortunately shared it with irl people that weren't very open-minded so I just stopped. That was late-2014 I think aklsdfjalksdf)
I was in uni at the time and I have always been into Mafia-related media so I guess I just mixed both of those together! :>
Hopefully my long wall of text makes sense! ;; V ;; Thank you so much for these questions, they really got my brain working! And thank you for your kind words!! I honestly can't wait to share the VN with everyone. It's going to be a Halloween-themed one! >:]c

saw a kingdom hearts reaction where the person said kingdom hearts is about childhood and growing up and losing innocence, and childhood trauma
and like 1 yeah they hit the nail on the head. it makes you feel like a kid again, but also reminds you that life is heavy and complicated and these things that remind you of an innocent time before it all will always be touched by the present now that you are no longer naive and now that you’ve started your journey into adulthood (like Sora leaving the islands). it reminds you of what you miss, of what you hope for, some of the most impactful lines in kingdom hearts 2 are when hayner says (and axel reaffirms, and truly so Many character stories echo) “we can’t be together forever, it’s not about how often we see each other, but how often we think about each other. as long as we have each other in our hearts then we’ll still be with each other” those ideas i think most people eventually will relate to. so much of the kingdom hearts story is about best friends, making friends, valuing friends, and how the world and the passing of time pulls people apart. how to stay close to them, how to get back to them again, how to grieve when we can’t, when we don’t know the future, how we have to move forward every day because life doesn’t stop, the circumstances tomorrow are not guaranteed to be like they are right now this minute, and we have to cherish what we have while it’s here. hold onto it in our hearts when it’s out of reach, and try our best to remember it and what it’s done to change us forever. every friend we make is a part of us, every precious memory changing us and our entire lives even when the connection gets lost or strained, even when our lives change completely in ways we could have never predicted or stopped. the desire to keep things as they are forever, when they’re good and we have our loved ones, and how as much as we may want that and strive for it and sometimes do achieve it life is going to constantly surprise us and we can’t control what tomorrow will bring. “hold me, whatever lies beyond this morning is a little later on, regardless of warnings the future doesn’t scare me at all”, “when we get older you’ll understand what i meant when i said no things aren’t quite that simple/things Are Quite that Simple.” Utada Hikaru’s absolutely lovely main songs have lyrics which really hammer home the themes of kingdom hearts.
just. yes on one level its an absolutely bonkers crossover visually, conceptually, in execution, in experimenting with combat and combination, and it’s wild it got made because who knows if it even could’ve existed if someone tried to make something like this today in the 2020s. but also it does have a heart at the center of it, an emotional thread that connects to everyone growing up and who already has, and it hits you right through to your core and it’s the reason the endless tragic arcs of the characters make so many people bawl their eyes out. yes its a sad story, many sad stories trying hard to fight to get a happy ending and reunite with their friends again one day. but its also a really, really, simple story. its a story we all go through. its covered in all these words like darkness, hearts, light, etc and this bonkers lore nomura keeps intensifying and piling on. but at the core of it all kingdom hearts is about our friendships and loved ones, about growing up and the passage of time changing everything, and how to bear it and go through this endless journey we’re all on. it hits extra hard to some (like me) because the childhood disney and final fantasy elements remind us of exactly when this reality starts to set in for us growing up, we were children, often surrounded by friends and family, and then one day people moved and died and school was over and nothing was ever stable again in that sort of concrete childish way when the world is only as big as your backyard and childhood home (like Sora, Riku and Kairi the world is only their tiny play island - they know nothing else, never had to be apart, and they wonder what’s out there... and we all find out eventually in life what’s beyond that small initial world we had). that’s the part of the story that hits.
and then like i said, 2 she mentioned its about trauma and childhood trauma. i’m burning out of steam here but that streamer absolutely gets it. 358/2 Days is about 2 children who are raised by a cult (which is also a toxic workplace - oh no childhood home of safety they start out already in a workplace nightmare where their work is their entire life and they’re easily replacable if they aren’t “productive” and their entire existence depends on being valuable to the boss, they’re disposable, they’re told their feelings and wants don’t matter and YET they develop them anyway and DO find each other to love and make life bearable. they do make a family out of their friends, people they want to live for, live to see, love to have in their lives, people and connections that matter more than their job). 358/2 Days is about adults who once had lives they loved and valued, people they cared about (Axel and Saix being particular highlights of that), who were crushed by their jobs and the passage of time destroying their old lives and old safety, the whole world fell apart on them and they died and all that’s left of them are echoes of their old selves who grew apart, now adults and part of the very kind of system of adults destroying things that once upon a time destroyed their old world and old lives. Axel knows the reality that he’s a part of the destruction, and yet when he connects to Roxas and Xion he wants to badly for them to NOT lose their loved ones and precious lives they care about. To NOT be crushed by the very awful situation they’re in, to help them, to try and protect them but knowing in the way he knows because he’s been through it... that they can’t be saved, that time will pass and change things, and he thinks the evil he does is better than the worse alternatives he knows could happen. And they all break apart. And i think a lot of older people can see younger friends, younger loved ones, children they have, going through their own versions of these things. the naive idealism of childhood, of the safe world they’ve managed to have or carve out or temporarily found, and the looming awful reality that there are things out there that can and do destroy that ‘safety’. that nothing is guaranteed to be forever. you’ve got traumatized adults who already went through awful stuff, children being traumatized who can never find real safety and will eventually have even that ‘good thing’ thrown into danger they can’t stop. Riku, Sora, and Kairi went through their own version in kingdom hearts 1. Riku wanted to see other worlds, wanted to protect the friends he loved from all the looming dangers he figured ‘might’ be out there because he was older and growing up and realized before Sora and Kairi that their safe haven might not always be safe forever. He leaped without looking, and got into danger over his head and instead of learning about it so he could protect sora and kairi, he ended up damaged by it first and used by it as a tool to hurt his own loved ones. and so many of the kingdom hearts games explore this idea. Ventus, Terra, and Aqua also have a situation with 2 of them young adults trying to pass their exam that proves they’ve ‘graduated’ to adulthood, aware of the real potential danger and impermanence of the world in a way Ventus the younger kid whos still a teen is not. And Aqua and Terra go out trying to protect those they love (and the whole world from being hurt by the same things), and instead get used, instead even when they try their best it’s not always enough. Though it is enough to one day find each other again, to help some people on different worlds even if it’s not going to be their own loved ones for a long while, and so it was worth the effort. Their only options were to stay on their isolated world and be attacked one day by the reality of time passing, or go out, and no one will ever be ready for it. No one’s ever ready to grow up, no one can stop it and we’re all forced to go through that journey someday. And Ventus - he already comes to the world damaged, traumatized, already forced through pain despite his young age, already forced to have been used. In kingdom hearts, they just do not sugarcoat this. Ventus (in BBS) didn’t have any safe childhood or loved ones to cling to originally, he was alone and suffered and sometimes children do, sometimes any person does. He eventually does find a respite - a sanctuary with Terra and Aqua living with them, that he treasures and has made into his home. Axel makes that as an adult, Ventus makes that as a teen, Sora and Riku had that with each other since children. (I could probably argue somewhere in there that Eraqus and Xehanort once were each other’s home, sanctuary, and their growing up also meant that was lost and longed for one day again some how which is maybe why KH3′s ending made me cry despite me thinking i didn’t care about those two characters lol). My point is plenty of the characters are traumatized before and as the stories kick off, or through the stories, and i very much feel people who consider it a major theme of kh.

Or Judai! I'd be cool with Judai too! (< person who sent manjoume for the character ask game)
Judai too!!! Let's go let's go!!!
First Impression: So like funny story. I first saw Judai when I was 10 and obsessed with 5Ds and god I HATED him LOL I thought he was so arrogant and annoying, I just could not STAND this boy. I don't know if younger me would adore me because I own the core rose dragon deck or slap me across the face for liking Jaden Yuki. "BLUH" younger me cried. "JADEN? I HATE JADEN! JADEN WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS YUSEI! YUSEI IS THE BEST PROTAG AND 5DS IS THE BEST SHOW!" I was so goofy when I was a kid.
Impression now: in late 2021, I watched yugioh gx and read the manga. At first I was pissed because I still believed in 5Ds supremacy. I believed in Yusei and Yusei only. But then I got like a couple of episodes in. And man. Watching Judai just have fun was so NICE!! Watching his friendship with Bastion especially and watching his relationship with his friends grow and watching him learn and go on silly adventures in season 1 was just FUN. Judai is fun and that's why I like him, GX could trick you into thinking school is fun because with Judai as a protagonist, everything does feel fun! And it makes me happy. He is also my son!! He's very hard to dislike and very hard to hate and he's a really interesting character to analyse.
[LONG DUMBASS RAMBLE AHEAD]
A lot of GX's subtle storytelling in season 1 foreshadows a lot about Judai's life and its interesting seeing it piece all together in season 3. The fact that Judai doesn't have a lot of memories of his childhood and the fact he doesn't go home at all kind of suggests from the start that he at some point has experienced some kind of trauma and that he's most likely a latchkey kid (which isn't too uncommon in Japan). Additionally, watching his mental health decline and seeing him self destruct while trying to keep up with his hero complex is painful but also feels surprisingly real. I mentioned it briefly in Manjoume's ask but Judai in a way perfectly encapsulates the ups and downs of adolescence - depicted through his complicated relationship with his friend circle, his implied romance with Johan, the build up of all his stress and ultimately his downfall. And that's just why I love him!! He's a tornado of emotions and a ball of energy. He runs into every new adventure, whisking the audience away with him and giving us insight in his wins, his loses, his mistakes and how he rectifies them. A lot of characters do get sidelined in GX but at the end of the day, GX is in a weird way about growing up and its through Jaden we see that happen. It almost makes me emotional seeing him in season 4 because you can tell that the events that have happened have changed him and he's no longer that silly kid that played baseball with his best friends or gambled for sandwiches during lunch. The events in the series have permanently changed him and he's grown up.
You'll never be that kid again, but in the end you're still you. And as long as you find happiness in your own way, you don't ever need to be the same as the way you were. You have to just keep moving forward and do what's best for you.
Judai is wonderfully written and incredibly likable in his own silly way, and that's why he's my favourite protag.
.
OOF I WROTE TOO MUCH NEXT QUESTION
Favourite moment: I like the episode where he paints Bastion's bedroom :D I also like the scene where he forgives Yubel, made me emotional
Idea for a story: So many. Too many to write here.
Unpopular opinion: Idk if this is unpopular but I don't like when people limit Jaden's personality to being obsessed with duel monsters. He has other hobbies! He plays all sorts of sports, plays video games, likes to fish, browses web forums, etc. (Not aimed at anyone in particular naturally, just a pet peeve of mine)
Favourite relationship: Oughh I like Spiritshipping... but I also like Gx Rivalshipping... But I also like Heroshipping... platonic fiance is my favourite thing too... his relationship with Bastion is also heavily slept on... but also his complex friendship with Syrus and how Hassleberry looks up to him and how codependency (not necessarily romantically) is explored through his relationship with Yubel...
Man Judai ROCKS
Favourite headcanon: That boy has the tism!! He's filled with autism!! I hc he's gay too but tbh it's suggested so hard in the show it might as well be canon. I also hc he collects blu-ray and dvd sets of movies, his favourite cartoons and famous duel matches. Aspec Judai is p rad too

That headcanon post about the EnNatsu kids made me think of my other OTPs and ships as parents, so I decided to write briefly about what I think they would be like as parents. I'll try to keep this one shorter than the headcanon post.
FubuHaru
Shirou has a bittersweet feeling when his kids end up being twins, and identical ones at that. After the delivery, he's crying both from happiness and also sorrow as every memory that he's shared with Atsuya flashes in his mind. Haruna and Kidou are really understanding about it.
They're both boys, one of whom Shirou names "Atsuya" as homage to his brother. They name the other twin Akira, after Haruna and Kidou's biological father.
Haruna captures every single moment on camera. They have a file on computer solely dedicated to the twin's pictures and videos. Aside from her enthusiasm, she's a pretty chill parent, unlike Shirou which frets about literally everything. Seeing the twins reminds him so much of him and his brother that he can't help but worry that the same fate might befall them. The thought of his kids going through that keeps him up some nights.
Haruna tries her best to reassure him that nothing would happen if he let then play in the garden outside on their own or minor stuff like that, but she also understands the trauma that makes him so vigilant. It hurts to see her worried about it, the same way it hurts whenever she thinks about all that Shirou went through at such a young age, but she does her best to help.
Both make a point to always assure the twins that they can take to either of them if they ever have any problems. The kids do know that and talk to both of them about their problems. It's a very communicative household and Shirou and Haruna tey their best to keep it that way. Shirou knows what it's like to feel like you're all alone with your problems even when surrounded by so many people and Haruna knows what can happen by the lack of communication (she had ended up resenting Kidou for not contacting her from their childhood to junior high, after all)
Still, when it comes to relationship advice, both twins go exclusively to Shirou because Haruna makes such a big deal out of it that it's embarrassing.
Hiroto
I don't really have a ship for Hiroto. HiroMido is probably the most popular ship for him, but it's a huge NOTP for me. Still, I like them thought of Hiroto being a single parent to Kariya.
We all know that Kariya has trust issues, so I imagine that it took a while for him to warm up to Hiroto. Hiroto is very familiar with how this all works, so he's extremely patient and kind, so much so that Kariya is suspicious initially before he's eventually convinced that Hiroto's attitude is genuine.
I headcanon that Hiroto adoptes Kariya before his appearance in GO, which is why Kariya has to transfer to Raimon since it's closer.
I imagine Hiroto to be a very patient parent. He takes extreme care to not end up hurting Kariya somehow like his father did with him. He encourages Kariya to be his own person and to not change himself for anyone's sake, because he knows what it's like to be someone you're not (the whole thing with Kira Hiroto)
Hiroto is extremely patient and kind with Kariya's trauma and slow healing. He loves to show his affection in various ways, like ruffling his hair, treating him to ice cream when Kariya deserves it for doing well in either school or soccer or his general behavior, giving him tiny gifts every now and then etc. He also makes sure to attend as many of Kariya's matches as he can.
Hiroto's open affection leaves Kariya flustered and he peetends to gurmble, but Hiroto can see the small smile he has every time.
Hiroto tries to be involved in Kariya's life as much as he can, sometimes becoming a bit too nosy, which can irritate Kariya.
It's a slow progression, but they eventually end up truly considering each other family.
Domon And Aki
Is there a name for this ship?
Anyway, I imagine Aki to be a supportive parent who, despite her worries and fears, allows her children to have the freedom to explore their own interests and hobbies. Still, she can sometimes worry a bit too much which sometimes leads her time be unreasonably strict at times.
When Aki got her first child, Tenma was happy for her but also rather worried. He's lived with Aki since he was a kid and he's afraid that things will change after this. Aki is quick to reassure him that while things will change a lot, she will always be around for him. She tells him that the new child is technically her first but they feel like the second because to her, Tenma is her first kid.
Domon is the easygoing parent. He's the type to sneak the children snacks and allow them to stay past there bed time if Aki's not home. Still, while he's hard to anger, he is scary when he's mad.
----
And that's about it. I ship IchiRika as well, but my interpretation is so far from canon that I decided not to include it. I hope you enjoyed these.

Heyyyy Morri! Happy STS!!! I've got a few questions for you about your characters. Feel free to go as in depth as you want!
For my favorite son Kristopher: What's his favorite childhood memory? What's his least favorite childhood memory (I know his childhood definitely full of them, but what's the one he hates the most or remembers most vividly)? AND how to those memories affect him as a person and how to they influence his emotions and decisions?
For Fallon: How does she sleep? I mean specifically: what's her usual sleeping position (curled up, star-fished out, hanging off the edge, etc), what clothes does she sleep in, does she snore (and if so, how loud is it), what times does she usually go to bed and alternatively what time does she wake up, and so on etc etc.
For Captain Blackthorne: How did he and Fallon meet? If they've always known each other, what Blackthorne's earliest memory of her (and Fallon's earliest memory of him if you want to include that)? Bonus: Does he have any family outside the castle? What are they like?
For my other favorite son Dorian: What's his biggest, deepest fear? Why? What's his biggest irrational and seemingly stupid fear? Why? Bonus: What's his favorite dessert and why?
For the prince character in your new wip that may become another favorite son of mine soon: Someone kidnaps him, but gives him back less than 12 hours later because he wouldn't stop talking about a certain topic. What was the topic he couldn't shut up about?
Hope you have a nice week, sending happy vibes your way <333
ANNA!!! I love all of these questions!!!!! I can't wait to answer all of them!!!
For Kristopher:
What's his favorite childhood memory? What's his least favorite childhood memory? How do those memories affect him as a person and influence his emotions and decisions?
His favorite childhood memory almost certainly has to do with his sister. She was often the only one who remembered or even acknowledged his birthday, and one year she made him a cake from scratch. Even though it was a bit of a mess, it was more effort than anyone had ever put into his birthday before, and Kris remembers it very well.
Another potential favorite memory might be the first day he met his horse, Phillip. Phillip was still a baby, and Kris was only about 12, but already he did a lot of exploring on his own, and the stables was one of his favorite places to hide from his family. He happened to be there a few days after Phillip was born, and he fell in love instantly. The staff let Kris name the colt, and that was the beginning of Kristopher and Phillip. The head groom somehow managed to ensure that Phillip belonged to Kris once he was old enough to be ridden and had been trained.
His least favorite memory... Oh dear, this is hard to choose. Not technically a childhood memory, but maybe when his sister left. She was betrothed to a royal from a kingdom really far away, and since she left, Kristopher has only seen her a handful of times at most, even though they exchange letters regularly. It's been either 7 or 5 years since she left. That might very well have been one of a very, very few times that Kris ever cried.
As for how these influence him now, well, obviously he still loves Phillip and takes very good care of him. It's good for him to have something to take care of, since he's not very good at doing it for himself. Knowing that he is (at least in part) responsible for Phillip's care is good. Also, being able to go for rides outside the city is a really good way for Kristopher to escape and get his mind off everything.
As for his sister leaving, well, she was really the only person in Oryn who truly cared about him, so her leaving was... not good for Kris. His mental health took a downturn after she left. He started drinking more, being a bit more reckless with himself, etc. He's careful not to let her know how things have changed for him since she left, always making things sound semi-decent in his letters, and on the very few occasions he has seen her, he always is on his best behavior. He relies on the fact that she will assume that others are exaggerating things that he's done. Losing close contact with the one person who really loved him was... not great for him, though.
The rest of this is going under the cut, since I talk a LOT, and this is already really long, lmao.
For Fallon:
How does she sleep? What position does she usually sleep in?
Fallon is usually a pretty easy sleeper. She has a bit of trouble falling asleep, especially if she has a lot on her mind, but once she's asleep, she tends to stay that way until she wakes up for the day. However, after her mother's death, she had a lot more trouble sleeping. It got better, but after Lavinia's attack, things got much worse again, and she wasn't sleeping more than a handful of hours a night.
As for position, she tends to sleep on her side, slightly curled up. Not a full curled up ball, but there's a definite curve to her spine and her knees are bent. She likes curling up under blankets, but since it doesn't get super cold in Anvia most winters, she usually only ever has one or two blankets on the bed.
What does she wear to sleep?
Fallon has a handful of different night-dresses / nightgowns that she wears, depending on the temperature, etc. Most of them are pretty lightweight though, since she'd rather be covered in blankets than wear much warmer clothes to sleep.
Her nightgowns are finely made with silk-like fabric, but they're not elaborately decorated or anything. Just solid-colored, mainly black, but she has a red one or two as well.
Does she snore? If so, is it loud?
She's not a frequent or loud snorer, but occasionally, if she's in just the right (or wrong) position, she'll snore very faintly. It's not loud, and most people wouldn't be bothered by it. It's a very soft snore, not loud or obnoxious. I suppose someone who really loved her might even find it cute. <3
What time does she usually go to bed? When does she usually wake up?
I answered an ask about this once before... let me try and find it, so I don't contradict myself, lmao.
Okay, I found it. Fallon usually goes to bed around 11, assuming she's not overly stressed. She's usually up around 8 on a normal day. But when she is stressed, she'll likely be awake until midnight or later. When she has nothing going on, she might sleep in until 9am or so, but that's rare. Occasionally she'll be awake early and start her day closer to 7.
For Captain Blackthorne:
How did he and Fallon meet? What's his earliest memory of her?
So, Captain Blackthorne was already a member of the Royal Guard when Fallon was born. He was ~20(?), and had been with the guard for a couple years at that point.
Obviously, he remembers the day she was born, cause the Queen giving birth is kinda a big deal. He wasn't there, obviously, but he does remember the day.
The first time he actually met Fallon was probably a few weeks later. He was one of Rosalynn's favorite guards, and if he wasn't already, soon enough he would be on her personal guard (and eventually the head of it). So, he was guarding the nursery while Rosalynn was in there, and she asked if he wanted to meet Fallon. He was kinda like "uhh... sure??" because how do you say no to the Queen? So he went it and said hi to Fallon, looked at her in her bassinet, and he loved her immediately.
Like I've mentioned before, he loves kids, so he thought she was adorable. And he was just kind baby-talking to her, introducing himself and saying that it was nice to meet her, and Rosalynn was watching him and she said "do you want to hold her?" and Blackthorne was like "... yes", because he did, but also, he was terrified, cause that's the future Queen right there. So yeah, he's loved her since day one. And she's known him her entire life.
Does he have any family outside the castle? What are they like?
Not anymore. He was raised by his uncle, but they were never particularly close, and his uncle died a few years back.
He got along fine with his uncle, and they respected each other just fine, but they weren't super close, like I said, so after Xavier moved out, they kinda fell out of contact. Just a few cursory letters every few years or so.
I think I'm going to answer the rest of your questions in another post, cause this one is already SUPER long, hahaha. Thanks for the questions, Anna!! You have no idea how much I love answering these!!!

1, 2, 12, 13, 16, 18, 21, 22, 24, 27, and 28 for Cora and Malia please and thank you!
My first impression of them
C: Providing clear protection/support to Boyd while clearly unwell herself? I love.
M: Incredibly intrigued! Malia being introduced as a girl who has been a full shift coyote for years after suffering major trauma was so interesting and I was smitten.
2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you’ve sent me a character I don’t like)
C: Probably 3x04 when she was angry and wanted revenge and violence on the Alpha pack (no matter how unlikely it would be) and realized her brother had changed in ways she didn't want.
M: When she decked Stiles. I was worried they wouldn't continue her story, but when she hears him, sees his face, and punches him, I couldn't help but love her.
12. Sexuality hc!
C: Asexual
M: Bisexual
13. Your favorite friendship they have
C: Boyd, short that we got to experience it
M: Kira! I'm not big on them as a romantic or sexual ship, but as friends I adore their differences and learning from one another.
16. A childhood headcanon
C: She rebelled against Laura, the older sister, and instead wanted to be just like her big brother Derek.
M: She received a Bop It toy for her birthday one year and swiftly broke it in frustration.
18. How do you think they were as a kid? (Like, were they shy, noisy, wild, etc)
C: I do sort of see her as a quieter kid, though far from shy. Laura was always with Talia training, while Peter took Derek under his wing. That left Cora to trail around and easily prank her siblings while not getting in trouble because she was quiet enough for her parents to not blame.
M: Playful, and fiercely protective of her sister. If Kylie even scraped her knee, Malia was intent on making it better.
21. When do you think they were at their happiest?
C: Getting to leave Beacon Hills after reuniting with Derek (and Peter) in 3a. She never really felt like it was her home, even if she was a Hale. I like to think she enjoys traveling and visiting packs around the world.
M: This one is hard! In all honesty, I like to think she found happiness in keeping contact with friends after the movie and pursuing what she was interested in instead of feeling like a constant pawn in somebody's relationship or plan. Maybe she travels the world with her cousin!
22. When do you think they were at their lowest?
C: When Peter informed her about Derek. She's gotten used to losing people, used to not growing close to anyone long enough to make a difference. But when it's her brother, the boy she used to get into messes with as a child, she goes off grid for longer than anyone expects.
M: Her visit to Canaan. Already she's coping with the loss of something critical (the memory of Stiles, her anchor) as well as juggling her increased power from her mother, but then she starts seeing visions of her dead family. Of the sister she couldn't save from Corinne.
24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone?
C: A couple of the people who died in the Hale fire were only there because she was hiding in the woods as a game and they'd gone in trying to find her.
M: She's kept something significant from everyone important to her. Flannels of Stiles, the hilt of Kira's broken sword, a couple of Scott's t-shirts she's cut into crop tops, Lydia's nail polish. She keeps talismans like she kept Kylie's doll.
27. If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet?
I only just started it, but maybe someone from Yellowjackets, a contrast of different versions of survival.
28. The most unnecessary thing they ever did?
Honestly I'm struggling to think of something. Nobody does everything out of necessity, but most unnecessary is throwing me off.

The Gaang are Roommates AU ~
note: this is a rewrite and repost of my old roommates au, there was some stuff I wanted to change, and I wanted to make the parts a little longer, so yeah, ta-dah!
- think modern setting in the canon universe, bending is still a thing
- the Gaang are all in going to Ba Sing Se University
- I’m gonna change the ages a bit to make it easier for myself, sorry
- Zuko, Sokka, Suki and Mai are 20, Katara, Ty Lee and Azula are 19, Aang, Toph and Yue are 18
- so, Zuko, Sokka, Katara, Aang and Toph end up living together in a big loft type apartment
- Sokka and Aang are old best friends, they met Toph in Middle School, and Katara is a natural part of the group
- until now Sokka and Katara have both been living in the dorms, and they both hate it intensely
- but now that Aang and Toph are also in uni, they all decide to move in together!
- …but the only problem is that the only place they find that they like is just out of their price rage (Toph’s parents aren’t supportive of her major so they’re not helping out much)
- enter: ~ Zuko ~
- so, Zuko has been living with his uncle Iroh since his Father, who’s a high up in some big and important company the Fire Nation, disowned him for speaking up against the company’s shifty treatment of workers and ruining a lot of sacred land etc
- they’re still firebenders and the scar still happened, not in an Agni Kai, but it happened
- but after Zuko started uni, Iroh really tried to push him to meet some people his own age and make some friends
- the only people Zuko talks to on the regular besides Iroh is Azula, Ty Lee and Mai, and Mai is the only one who is like, his friend yanno?
- the last year the deal was that if Zuko didn’t branch out, Iroh would have him live one year with other students
- it’s his idea of tough love
- Zuko tried to do some random kid’s homework to have them pretend to be his new friend in front of Iroh so he wouldn’t have to, but Iroh can tell he’s lying so easily
- so, Zuko ends up hearing about the Gaang through Mai, who heard from Ty Lee, who plays field hockey, Suki, who’s best friends with Sokka
- so, he goes to meet them, and it’s so awkward mY GOD
- Katara is a B I G environmental activist and HATES Ozai and his company, with good reason
- she eases up a tad when Zuko admits to being turned away from as a teen, but she is still suspicious
- Aang loves him right away, ofc, and that makes Katara even more suspicious because she’s pretty protective of Aang
- she claims it’s because he’s so kind and believes everyone but she totally liikeees hiiiim
- Toph is just like, sure, as long as he pays his rent idgaf
- Sokka is weirdly quiet, because he’s had a huge crush on Zuko forever, and the only one who knows is Aang (and Toph but she ain’t no snitch)
- so, ya boy makes the cut, and before they know it, it’s move-in day!
- but, the idiots didn’t think through the facts that it’s only three bedrooms oops
- and Toph is NOT afraid to pull the “I’m blind and I need my space” card
- and nobody’s up to fight her on it, so
- let’s just say there is A LOT of back and forth, but with Katara refusing to room with her brother again, and Zuko being rightfully scared of Katara, it ends up with Zuko and Sokka sharing a bedroom, and Katara and Aang
- they have separate beds ofc
- but still, tension, man, so much tension
- it takes a while, but the dynamics starts working out really well
- Zuko is good at grocery shopping and likes to clean, and Aang is always happy to help him out
- Sokka loves cooking, so he does that a lot
- Katara is always on top of the others with schoolwork and making sure everyone is okay, and she usually does it in genius, sneaky ways so people doesn’t even notice that she does it
- Toph is clearing the air off bullshit
- like, she will call a bitch out
- but because she cares about said bitch
- so, Aang knows that Sokka has a crush on Zuko because Sokka told him in a weak moment, and Toph knows because she just knows
- Aang is a good friend tho, and he tries to like, ease them together
- but he is so awkward about it, the poor thing, and Zuko doesn’t understand AT ALL
- Toph is just sitting back and sighing a lot
- Katara doesn’t understand either but she just stays out of it (smart girl)
- but okay, we know how oblivious Zuko can be right?
- Sokka can give him googly eyes and blush and stutter around him so much and he still has no clue at all
- Zuko starts thinking Sokka just doesn’t like him at all
- but then one night Zuko has this really intense nightmare
- okay and quick addition, his scar is… handshaped? Like, you can clearly tell what happened to him
- but nobody talks about it, yet
- but then he’s having a terrible nightmare and is talking and begging and pleading in his sleep
- so much that Sokka wakes up
- and he catches on pretty fast, but had no idea what to do
- so he just shuffles over to Zuko’s side of the room and starts tapping his shoulder rapidly
- but nothing happens
- so he just… gently and awkwardly pats his head until Zuko wakes up
- and Zuko is like… wat u doin there bro
- and Sokka is like… just patting ur head to wake you from a nightmare bro
- and they awkwardly just mumble and go back to their beds
- but Zuko is smiling a lot because someone who’s not his family or a family friend really cares about him
- after that, Zuko slowly starts opening up to all of them, but Sokka especially
- he never really tells them about being cast out and burned tho
- until one day he kinda casually slings it into a convo all fast and awkwardly
- it’s just Toph, Aang and Sokka there
- Toph yells so WHAATTT so loudly and just metalbends the whole fridge into a clump in rage
- Aang cries lmao but he tries to hide to and be supportive and not awkward
- Sokka is kinda quiet, but he carefully asks about it that night when they’re in their beds, and they talk a little about it
- Aang tells Katara (with permission) and she awkwardly, but wholeheartedly tells him that he can always talk to her
- they do that «awkward sibling hug» from Gravity Falls after
- *hugs stiffly* «pat, pat»
- but okay, Toph and metalbending when angry, it happens quite a lot
- this was the first time it was the fridge, but the toaster, the microwave, and several other appliances have met the same fate
- everyone is kinda used to it now, and she always replaces it
- except Zuko, who’s still kinda new to them all
- but what are you supposed to say when your new friends is so outraged by the abuse you went through that they crush a whole ass fridge?
- it actually reminds him that he’s cared for here, by these people who owe him nothing, and is not related to him, and it makes him a little dizzy to have people care this way
- he casually mentions it to his Uncle Iroh the time he’s in at work, that his new friend is a metalbender and squashed their whole fridge when she was pissed on his behalf
- Iroh is thrilled
- to the point of offering Toph a job lmao
- Toph, desperate to cut of as much ties with her family and be as self-sufficient as possible, agrees
- and now Iroh have two formerly rich kids with no clue about any sort of customer service and basic stuff like that working for him
- Toph is a hard worker tho, and she and Zuko work surprisingly well together
- Katara is a little relived, because the more those two work, the less are the chances of either of them trying to cook or do too many chores around their apartment
- they mean well, or, Zuko does, but he does so much dumb shit when trying to help lmao
- Sokka starts spending a lot of time over at The Jasmine Drago too
- Aang is still trying to keep the fact that Sokka likes Zuko a secret, but he is having trouble
- Katara is his biggest weakness, and now they’re suddenly alone with her a lot
- someone else who could always read Sokka really well is Suki
. whom he used date in high school, but they parted as friends and everything s cool
- but Sokka is a little taken aback when she comes into The Jasmine Dragon one day, hand in hand with Sokka’s childhood crush obsession, Yue
- for the first time in man’s memory, Sokka is a little speechless
- and Suki’s like “lmao dude I haven’t seen you like this since the first time you saw Zu-”
- cue Zuko popping out behind them like “WELCOME TO THE JASMINE DRAGON FRIENDS OF SOKKA :D”
- Sokka is so fucking red, poor boy is just about having an aneurism at this point
- but luckily something happens and Zuko gets distracted
- Suki is having the time of her life tho, Sokka always used to tease her for her crushes before and after they dated, and suddenly, here they are
- at the apartment, Aang decides they need some apartment traditions
- they’ve been living there for almost three months, after all
- so he decides that weekly movie nights are mandatory
- so are pillowforts
- Katara is actually really excited for it, she loves all things cozy and fall-like
- also… she is weak for Aang, y’all, and she loves seeing him all excited
- Zuko barely knows what a pillowfort is, he didn’t think real people actually made it
- but imagine these dorks in a pillowfort with hot chocolate and lot’s of pillows
- Toph claims that she thinks it’s soo dumb, but she will always make sit in the middle of the group all wrapped in her blanket and laughing when the others jump and get spooked from the horror movies Sokka always wants to watch
- and she will make sure the fort is right and perfect lmao
- Zuko is a little awkward about it at first, but he likes it too
- Sokka always manages to plop in next to Zuko lmao
- they haven’t talked about the head patting incident yet, but Zuko is def starting to feel the butterflies
- one time after a movie night Sokka falls asleep on Zuko’s shoulder, after the others have left for the night
- Zuko can’t resist waking him up with awkward head pats similar to the one Sokka used on him
- Sokka thinks he died and went to heaven lmao
- but then he fully wakes and sees Zuko’s shit eating grin and can’t help but laugh at the whole thing
- and Zuko has his “oh no he’s hot beautiful and I really adore him” moment

Okay, so after last night’s episode I would just like to say that Supercorp IS Endgame. I’d also like to point out the various reasons as to why Kara and Lena are not only soulmates but true twin flames.
For those reading this post who have never heard of the term twin flame: “A twin flame is your own soul, shared across what appears to be two physical beings. It’s one soul, split into two bodies.” -Google’s definition.
For those who are spiritually inclined and have a proclivity for indulging esoteric philosophies; Lena and Kara are ABSOLUTELY twin FUCKING flames 🔥🔥🔥!!
Here are the reasons why:
1. Their drastically different childhoods that resulted in remarkably similar trauma.
Both Kara and Lena have experienced great loss throughout their life. Both mourned the death of their parents, and life as they knew it, at a very early age. Both were shipped off to a foreign land, forced to leave behind everything they knew, in hopes for a brighter/safer future.
Albeit, Lena got the shorter end of the stick in regards to unconditional love, but both were given a second chance and a new start...and yet, they still never fit in, or felt like they truly belonged.
Although they individually have dealt with said trauma in different ways (Lena by pushing away those who try to get too close, and Kara by holding on tightly to those she holds dear) both of their actions are motivated by the same subconscious fear that they HAVE never and WILL never TRULY belong. All while yearning for a sense of “home”.
2. They are opposite reflections of each other; true “mirror souls”, if you will.
Physically, aesthetically, economically, and emotionally—they are complete “mirrors” of one another.
Kara is strong, physically powerful, cut from marble, all hard edges and sharp lines—except for her face. Lena is clearly not as physically powerful, she is soft, all curves, and exudes the grace of the Devine feminine energy—except for her face, which is hard edges and sharp jaw lines. You see what I’m saying?
Aesthetically and economically go hand in hand of course. Lena’s exorbitant wealth is evident in her high-end designer appearance; whereas Kara’s aesthetic is more humble and grounded, and prioritizes comfort over “fashion”. (Let’s admit it. Some of Kara’s fashion choices have been questionable. She clearly rocks the chinos and button-downs better than anything else in that eclectic closet of hers she refuses to come out of 😏)
Emotionally...oh honey. Do I need to say more? I won’t say much but I will say this: Kara is the sun and Lena is the moon. They compliment each other in a way that ensures the world keeps turning.
3. Their individual strengths are the other’s individual weakness and vice versa.
Goes along with the aforementioned “opposite reflection” point above but I’ll expand a bit further in regards to their specific personality traits.
Lena is predominately analytically driven, whereas Kara is emotionally driven. Lena is good in crowds, Kara is not (overwhelmed). Lena is introverted, Kara is extroverted. Lena is detail oriented and has the memory of an elephant, Kara is clumsy and as forgetful as a Pisces (but hey, she has a lot on her plate and barely any free time to balance it). Lena eats like a rabbit-bird-hybrid and Kara eats like a garbage disposal. Kara loves giving and receiving hugs and other forms of physical affection whereas Lena does not (UNLESS it’s from Kara, of course). Etc. Etc. you get the picture.
4. Now this one is the DEAD GIVEAWAY. Undeniable, irrefutable PROOF that Lena and Kara are twin flames.
They are LITERALLY completing what is know as the Twin Flame Journey or the Twin Flame Union.
The stages of Twin Flame Union are roughly as follows:
1. Yearning for “the one”. I think every human being that believes in love experiences this whether it’s throughout their entire life, or only their adult life until they meet this person but yeah. You get it. Kara has always wanted that “Wapow!” moment.
2. Glimpsing/meeting “the one”. Whether it’s only for a short moment, an extended meeting, or perhaps merely locking eyes with them as you pass each other by...you feel immediately connected. There is an instant soul recognition when meeting them, so much so that you could have sworn you’ve met them before or that it’s as if you’ve known each other your whole lives.
Remember when Kara met Lena? And she was gaga-eyed over Lena? Or when Lena felt so comfortable around a new acquaintance that she granted an almost stranger unbridled access to her office? Or how about when Red Daughter flew to America (the country she was taught to hate), with no recollection/memories of Kara’s relationship with Lena (again, the woman she was taught to hate), all because she felt PULLED to do so. And then when she did meet Lena she looked at her and practically drooled over her as if Lena was a double XL cheeseburger with extra special sauce from Big Belly Burger? Like, biiiitch 👀
3. Falling in love. Need I say more? Fine, again, I will. You CANNOT tell me that there is no way in hell that these two morons are anything BUT in love with each other. That’s a lot of double negatives and I appplogize so let me reiterate for clarification: THEY ARE IN LOVE AND YOU CAN’T CHANGE MY MIND!
And at this point is it so freaking BEYOND platonic love, the show cannot explain it away or sweep it under the “just close friends” rug. No. Kara used her Fifth Dimensional Wish (she literally could have wished her entire planet didn’t explode) and she said “make Lena not mad at me, I’m sad 😔” 👀. Mmmkay. Not to mention Lena picking Supergirl over Jack, her former lover. Or the plethora of other times Lena chose Kara/Supergirl over everyone else she knew. Mmkay.
4. The fairytale relationship/friendship. Lena has finally found someone she can depend on, be vulnerable with, support her without judgement, trust with her life etc. and Kara has finally found a true best friend, not her sister, not Kenny who she didn’t realize was her best friend till after he passed? And now he’s not dead?? But her one true best friend that she felt she didn’t need to be neither Supergirl, nor Kara Danvers, but rather Kara Zor-El around (despite Lena not knowing that little tidbit of information).
They were each other’s best friend. Each other’s person. They were happy.
5. Outer Turmoil and Inner Purging—Supergirl and Lena fight. Lena still does not know that Kara is indeed Supergirl and does not pick up on the brewing tension between herself and Kara.
Kara of course is riddled with guilt and her relationship with Lena becomes strained. This outer turmoil creates inner purging by bringing out negative traits in each other. I.E. Lena hiding kryptonite and also Kara asking James to spy on her. Shit gets messy but they still try to make it work.
6. The Runner and the Chaser/Separation Stage—Tensions mount between the two and Lena FINALLY learns about Kara’s secret. And she has a choice to make. So what does she do? She runs. Not physically but emotionally. She completely withdraws from not only Kara and their friends but also withdraws from herself.
She literally experiences cognitive dissonance and becomes someone she is not. Someone other people made her believe she was on the inside, even though Kara knows that it isn’t. And so, Kara chases her.
Lena becomes the runner and Kara becomes the chaser as they navigate this separation stage.
Continuously running and continuously chasing.
7. The Surrender and dissolution stage—they’re fucking done. They’re tired. They’re exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally after all the bullshit they put each other through as well as all the bullshit Lex and the Phantom Zone put them through.
They come to an impasse in regards to Lex and realize the only way to defeat him is to work together, as a team. (El Mayarah anyone?)
They surrender to their emotions and to each other as their egos dissolve and their souls expand after having learned invaluable life lessons. The major one being: THEY CANNOT LIVE HAPPILY WITHOUT EACH OTHER!
8. The last stage that we have yet to see but we fucking better or else I’m gonna January 6 the CW studio building—“Oneness”.
This time, I’m not gonna say more.
So, in conclusion: Supercorp is Endgame because Lena Luthor and Kara Zor-El Danvers are the literal definition of a twin flame, soulmate connection. They are the same soul, manifested in two physical forms, for the sole purpose of expanding their soul’s consciousness.
They deserve to be happy, they deserve to be together. Not only does their union parallel some of the greatest love stories throughout history, i.e. Romeo and Juliet, Darcy and Bennet, Superman and Lois (duh) it would also break the curse of generational karma and illustrate to anybody who watches the show that the only person who defines who you are is YOU. Not a name, not a legacy, not society’s expectations, YOU. And most importantly of ALL...it would showcase that love truly does conquer all.
I rest my case.
TPTB, make Supercorp Endgame or kick rocks ✌️😘
Sincerely,
An empassioned fan with way too much time on her hands.

Hello! For the Alphabet Request, could I get the angst Alphabet with Sanji or the fluff alphabet with Zoro, thank you so much! :)
Angst Alphabet - Sanji
Tumblr media
a/n: thank you for requesting! I chose the angst alphabet but I kinda regret it now because omg ANGST IS SO HARD IT HURTS TO THINK ABOUT!!! but anywaysssss I hope you enjoy <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A-Accident (would they blame themselves if you died in an accident?)
Easiest answer ever. Yes. Sanji would take all the blame upon himself regardless of it really was his fault or not. Even if he wasn’t present at the time of the accident, he’d still blame himself and say it was his fault for not being there for you or being prepared for anything. He’d never forgive himself.
B-Break up (How would they break up with you?)
It’s impossible to even imagine this man breaking up with you, ever. Seriously. He’s so passionate, and once he’s in love, he’s in love. There is no going back. BUT, I suppose, on the outrageously slim chance that he did break up with you, he would do it in the kindest way. You wouldn’t even realize you’ve been broken up with.
C-Crying (how would they make you cry?)
If he were to make you cry, it would be entirely accidental. In fact, even then I can only picture Sanji making you cry tears of happiness. If he were to be the cause of your tears (one’s that aren’t tears of joy) he would beat himself up. He can’t stand seeing those he loves cry or upset in any manner.
D-Death (how would they react to your death?)
Denial would be the first emotion he expresses. It’s not possible, right? You can’t be dead. You’re not dead… because if you really were dead, it means he’s lost the light of his life. He’d be practically inconsolable for a very long time. Nothing would be able to bring back his usual liveliness. Cooking loses its appeal – I mean there’s no point if you won’t be the one enjoying his food. The Straw Hats are unable to do anything to bring back some of that fire. They get so desperate that Zoro even intentionally tries to cause a ruckus, but Sanji doesn’t react at all.
E-Emotion (what is one emotion they would try to hide the most and how would they do it?)
His insecurities are the one thing he would never dear show to others. Not only would it result in endless remarks from Zoro, but, he doesn’t want to have to deal with the pitiful comments – ‘you’re not useless’, ‘you are wanted and needed here’, ‘we all love you’. Sure, he understands people are just trying to help and be reassuring but it just makes him feel worse. So, instead Sanji deals with this the only way he knows how: bottling it all up and putting on a façade.
F-Fight (do you two ever fight? How big are the fights? What do you fight about? Etc.)
Fighting with you is something he hates doing. He never allows anything to get to that point. Sanji can’t risk losing you over a fight (no matter how big or small). Instead, he will apologize immediately, completely agreeing with everything you are saying. However, if it’s something he feels really strongly about (i.e your safety) he will sit you down and communicate calmly.
G-Guilt (what is the biggest thing they feel guilty about?)
The events of Whole Cake Island continue to eat him up. He knows he did it for the sake of the crew and the safety of the Baratie, but Sanji can’t seem to forget the way he disrespected his captain and hurt the people he loved the most (and the one’s that loved him too). The part that really makes him messes with him is that fact that Luffy forgave him instantly. To be honest, he wasn’t expecting Luffy to stay mad or hold a grudge, because well… that’s just not what he does. Even so, Sanji’s conscience is constantly telling him that he doesn’t deserve to be on the future pirate kings crew despite apologizing and being forgiven.
H-Heartbreak (what would cause them pain in the relationship? How would they deal during a break-up?)
Being away from you for long periods of time is one of the biggest causes of pain in the relationship for Sanji. He misses you like crazy and often finds himself distracted while thinking of you.
During the early stages of a break-up Sanji is likely to be a bit more reserved, choosing to keep to himself a little more. His usual enthusiasm lacks a little bit of oomph. Sometimes, late at night, when everyone else is asleep, he makes his way to the kitchen where he sits in the dark, cigarette in hand and quietly cries to himself.
I-Injured (how would they react if you are badly injured?)
He would be FURIOUS. Not at you of course. At whoever the hell thought it was okay to hurt the love of his life. He would be in god mode and rampage to find the son of a bitch that would ever dear to lay a hand on his partner.
J-Jealousy (what do they do if they are jealous?)
Death glares are a staple in the Sanji jealousy inventory. He’ll glare at anyone who seems to be taking too much of your attention. He also becomes a lot more clingy, using any and every excuse possible to be near you at all times. It can become a bit much at times, so if you tell him to reign it in a little, he’ll try his best.
There is one person that he refuses to let you spend any time with. Unsurprisingly, that is Zoro. He gets extremely jealous if you pay even the most minimal amount of attention to Zoro mumbling lots of “Stupid mosshead, why the hell are you spending time with him anyway?”
K-Kill (would they kill for revenge?)
Something deep inside me wants to say yes. But, he is far too kind-hearted to take away someone’s life. It is a possibility though, if the other person was to kill his s/o, or anyone else on the crew. However, for the most part, Sanji would just beat the person/people black and blue until they can’t walk, talk, or eat anymore. Basically, he won’t kill them, but they would wish they were dead after he’s finished with them.
L-Loss (what is their greatest loss?)
When he was a child, he lost his mother. She was the only person in his family that truly loved and cared for him (okay his sister did too, to an extent). His mother believed in his dreams and passions. She treated Sanji like a true human being. Losing her was devasting and made him feel more alone than he had ever felt before.
M-Mistake (what is the worst mistake they ever made with you?)
It’s very rare for Sanji to ever make any kind of mistake with you. He remembers every date, anniversary, achievement and milestone regardless of its importance. He doesn’t speak rudely to you, lash out at you or direct any sort of violence towards you.
So, the worst thing he’s probably done is accuse you of liking Zoro more than you liked him, because you would train and workout with him. It wasn’t that it was a serious or harsh accusation, it was just that this was a conversation the two of you have had time and time again.
N-Nightmares (how often do they have them? What are they about? How do they deal with it?
Sanji occasionally finds himself waking up in a sweat, breathing heavily. He doesn’t have nightmares too often, but when he does, they are horrifyingly vivid. It’s as if he is a starving boy again fighting for his life. OR it’s as if he’s that lonely good-for-nothing screw up of a child, locked away in a cell. It’s frightening just how realistic these nightmares feel and to bring himself back to reality all he does is find you. He needs to hold you, look at you, smell your scent, hear your quiet snores… anything. You are his safe place, a sign that everything is alright.
O-Outrage (how and why would they get mad at you?)
He wouldn’t get mad at you. It’s extremely unlikely (though not impossible). The only possible instances that could happen is if you were to disrespect his passion and talent for food. But lets be real… why on earth would you even do that in the first place.
P-Past (what has happened in your relationship that changed the way you saw each other?)
Whole Cake Island was a real game changer. So much was revealed about Sanji that he never wanted anyone to know. He was terrified you would think differently of him knowing that he was a ‘failure’ (note: you didn’t think of him differently at all). However, the part that really put a strain on your relationship was how you thought he had betrayed not only yourself, but the crew too. It really was a whole rollercoaster of emotions, but in the end the two of you were able to work through it, coming out stronger.
Q-Quality (what is their most dangerous/toxic quality?)
This man is quick to anger. Even though his reactions are usually harmless, what’s to stop him from one day completely just blowing up and doing, or saying, something to hurt those he cares about.
R-Rejection (how would they react to you rejecting their confession (or the other way around))
Of course, he would be upset if you rejected his confession, because a beautiful individual has just turned him down, but honestly, he’d just continue treating you as he always. has
S-Scars (battle or self-inflicted)
There are definitely no scars - battle-related or self-inflicted - on his body (that we know of). However, mental scars are a different story. He has plenty of those from his childhood, as do a large proportion of one piece characters.
T-Trust (have they ever broken your trust?)
Never in his life would Sanji do something to break your trust. The closest it came was the incident on Zou and Whole Cake Island, it certainly looked as if he had betrayed you and broken your trust entirely, only for you to find out it was the complete opposite.
Many people think Sanji is the type of individual to cheat in a relationship. While I can see where they are coming from with this opinion, I strongly disagree. This may be an unpopular opinion, I’m not too sure, but, Sanji would never be disloyal in a relationship. Treating women properly is such a big part of his personality to the point where it is practically embedded into his muscle memory – he acts on instinct. So of course there will be times where he’s paying a little extra attention to some lady but there is no ulterior meaning to his actions – its simply his firm belief that all women deserve to be treated and doted on as the queens they are. Additionally, during the Dressrosa arc Sanji truly believed he was in a ‘relationship’ with Viola and as soon as he knew that he was trying his absolute hardest to pay attention to Viola and only Viola. His mind did wonder off to Nami and Robin but he would scold himself for that (and feel free to correct me on this if im remembering incorrectly – it’s honestly quite possible that I’ve made this up entirely LMAO it’s been a while since I’ve read and watched the dressrosa arc).
So, let me sum up again: No. Sanji has never done anything that has broken your trust.
(my apologies I really went off for a second there I’m SO sorry).
U-Urge (how badly do they want to see you after you guys separated?)
Oh boy, he’s practically incapable of going five minutes without seeing you. He misses you so much it’s crazy. Your presence is so soothing for him, so he gets really antsy and anxious in your absence.
V-Vicious (what do they do when they lash out on you?)
I seriously can’t see him lashing out at you at all. He would never physically lash out at you but, there may possibly be potential for him to say something harsh in the heat of the moment. It literally wouldn’t even be because of anything you’d done in particular. It’d just be a build-up of things and then you happen to be the closest person and the next person to say something, and it tips him over the edge, so he snaps. He apologizes as soon as the words leave his mouth.
W-Weak (what makes them feel weak how do they try to avoid it?)
Sanji hates, and I mean hates being unable to help those that he cares about. It’s one of the few things that makes him feel weak. He has a kind heart and is always wanting to protect those he loves, so he does everything in his power to be ready to move in an instant. He remains aware of his surroundings, and is always on guard so that he can defend and strike when the situation calls for it.
X-X-ray (what do they hate and show it most obviously?)
The most obvious object of Sanji’s hatred is Zoro, however, I wouldn’t say it’s hatred. It’s a classic rivalry that is thankfully not rooted in any true ill will.
One other thing Sanji has absolutely no tolerance for is the inappropriate or rude treatment towards women, and food. On many occasions Sanji has actually physically and verbally fought others over their treatment of women and food.
Y-Yearn (what is one thing that they want but can’t have?)
I know this is meant to be serious and super angsty but, my mind automatically went to the clear-clear devil fruit LMAO. Its canon that the clear-clear fruit is something Sanji wants but can’t have because it’s currently in use by another person. (to make up for this not angsty idea I’ll do another one).
Growing up all Sanji ever wanted was a family that loves him and treats him kindly. Sure, he had his mother (before she passed away), and to an extent he had his sister, but he never truly experienced a loving family growing up. However, the moment he met Zeff & the Baratie gang and then the Straw Hat Pirates he learnt something important: Family isn’t always blood.
Z-Zero (what do they do/say in your dying moments?)
He tears up. A lot. He’s so conflicted between wanting to spend your final moments with you but also not being able to handle that pain. Ultimately, he decides to endure, holding your hand tightly and whispering everything he’s ever wanted to say - all his dreams about your future together and how he saw that playing out etc.

Rec List Request
A personalised list for @jammy-boy 🥰 could be of interest to others, so enjoy!
Basic requirements: - just finished and loved SOTUS - is Arthur/Merlin trash - loves a twist or reversal of classic “power-dynamic” - loves angst with happy ending ______________________________
Tumblr media
Theory of Love
Film student Third (Gun) has been secretly in love with his best friend Khai (Off) for three years, but Khai is straight, a massive player, and a total arsehole if we’re being honest. This starts painful, but then they start playing around with tropes and expectations and then it changes POV which just HITS so hard and completely changes your whole perception. You know the movie Flipped? It references that, and then does the flip - so good.
Knowing the level of pining, pain and angst that you love (plus your background in film studies) I feel like this is required viewing. Get out the tissues. But also, it’s still really funny and cute/dumb (cause gmmtv) and the production was excellent. Also, Off/Gun are PEAK natural chemistry and Gun is such an incredible actor that watching him cry or yell at someone is still preferable to other actors being happy.
Watch on YouTube HERE

He’s Coming To Me
Precious baby boi Singto plays Med, a ghost, who is is stuck in limbo for 20 years - until he meets a boy who can see him, Thun (my baby boi Ohm) who promises to help him figure out his unfinished business and cross over. And then they were roommates! And then they start falling in love and it’s ANGSTY because they know Med will have to leave one day. Ouch, my heart.
You will enjoy the mixture of domestic fluff and tragic angst in this. But don’t worry it has a happy ending (kind of, I think, from memory haha). Also, you will enjoy the fact that they can’t touch (cause, ghost) which is *chefs kiss* except for moments of heightened emotions when Thun’s powers become strong enough that he can touch Med (FUCK YES, THIS TROPE IS EVERYTHING)
After much whining from fans, they put it up on Youtube haha so watch HERE.
Tumblr media
Until We Meet Again
ANNGST. RE.IN.CAR.NA.TION. ANGST. What else do you need to know?!?! Reincarnated soulmates trope?!!? HELLO!?!?  It’s so beautiful. I’m still not over it. And yes it has a happy ending, it starts super sad, then ends up super fluffy and the romantic fluffy moments oh god it’s so romantic. I know you love like soft domestic food sharing etc - this show is ALL about the cooking.
The casting, the characterisation, the acting, the story, the music, even the friendship group and the side-couple, it’s perfection *chefs kiss* PERFECTION
Watch on youtube HERE

A Tale of A Thousand Stars
After the lovely volunteer teacher Torfun dies (RIP poor torfun) in a tragic accident, her heart is transplanted into selfish pretty rich boy Tian (played by the beautiful Mix). After learning of her selfless character, he feels guilt and shame for living (the angst is very real) and makes it his mission to complete her life’s wishes and follow in her footsteps.
As the new village volunteer teacher, he then falls in love with the very handsome and very shirtless chief Phupha (Earth), who lives to protect the trees, we stan an environmental man. Angst, fluff, complications, and many miscommunications ensue. I was tearing my hair out by the end of this show. Yes, it has a happy ending (eventually). Earth x Mix was a pairing we did not know we even wanted or needed until this show happened and now I cry every time I see a picture of them together. Every single time Phupha looks at Tian in this show I literally tear up. HE LOVES HIM SO MUUUUUCHHH *crying again*
Watch on youtube HERE

I Told Sunset About You
Childhood best-friends, turned enemies (for stupid kid reasons), to lovers. This is ANGSTY but so fucking beautiful it’s ridiculous. I wouldn’t even class this as “BL” because it doesn’t have any of the standard tropes, and there’s no silly sound-effects or innuendo jokes. This is like genuine lgbt+ indie-film realness. You can honestly just watch it for the cinematography and the music. The AESTHETIC of this show is what truly makes it special. The symbolism, the colours, this show said CINEMA. And the sexual tension is absolutely WILD. You will live for the angst (with a happy ending). And no, do not bother watching season 2, it’s perfect as a stand-alone mini-series. (I’m still upset).
Watch HERE
and now for some stand-out non-Thai series...
Tumblr media
Where Your Eyes Linger
Korea has gotten on the BL train, and has now made a whole bunch of viki mini-series that are all cute but this one is right up your alley. This is VERY merthur. It’s literally servant/master, bodyguard/prince trope. But, I thought the characterisation was nicely thought out and wasn’t what I was expecting. The tension is palpable, the angst is juicy, and the soft kdrama vibes are cheesy and wonderful. Angst with a happy ending (of course).
Watch on VIKI
Tumblr media
HIStory 3: Trapped
So the Taiwanese HIStory series has been around forever, and I love the whole series (History 2: Crossing The Line is my all time fav). But for youuuu, I think the most appropriate is Trapped. Police detective single-mindedly obsessed with a gang leader? Yes please. But whatever power-dynamic expectations you would have of a police/criminal couple are twisted and warped immediately! This series is so endearing, it’s mostly comedy/action, and whilst it has plenty of angst, mostly it’s just CUTE as fuck. Also the side couple are adorable too!
The whole History series is on Viki now yay!
Tumblr media
The Untamed
Look, I KNOW 50 episodes of plot-heavy chinese historical fantasy is a lot. But there’s a reason this show was soooo popular. It only took me like 3 attempts and a whole ass “guide” pdf to figure out what the fuck was happening in the first ep cause its non-linear. But, if you are in the right mood (ie; sick, or in lockdown) and need something to get completely LOST in for like a week, then watch this haha. I know you couldn’t make it through Guardian, but maybe this one will hit the spot.
This has all the angsty character tropes you live for. And cause it’s censored, there’s no actual romance, so instead it’s just the best kind of UST, character driven, emotional soulmate angst. To summarise: Wei Wuxian is; adopted, a trouble-maker, impetuous, head-strong, fun-loving, has a martyr complex and wants to save everyone. Meanwhile, Lan Zhan is; lawful good to a fault, stoic, shy, and has a martyr complex about saving Wei Wuxian and Wei Wuxian ONLY. Now throw them into the middle of supernatural / political turmoil and see what happens. Well I’ll tell you what happens, Wei Wuxian becomes the “villain”, gets killed, and Lan Zhan spends 16 years looking for him. FUCKING KILL ME OKAY. (No, that’s not a spoiler it happens in the first episode haha)
Do NOT watch on Netflix the subs are trash. Watch on Youtube or Viki
 ~ ~ ~
This list may seem long but I was VERY reserved in my selection okay you have no idea how tiny this tip of the iceberg is 😂
Also, knowing your love of no-touching, tension, and angst. I would also briefly draw your attention so School 2013 in my bromance list which is the single most angsty show about friendship ever made.
Enjoy!

BRF Reading - 15th of June 2021
This is speculation only
Cards drawn 15th of June 2021
Question: Will the statue unveiling go ahead?
Background: Before I took the three day break, I reset my deck by rebuilding it from scratch. I then did not touch it for three days, to give the cards time to rest and the energy around them time to disperse. Before I did this reading, I rebuilt the deck again, so these cards are as clean and energy free as it is possible for them to be.
This was a hard reading to do. The energy was very heavy and I felt I had to literally push through the energy to get it done.
Tumblr media
Interpretation: I don't know. There is a big change coming for the BRF, something that is shocking and unexpected.
Card One: The Two of Cups. This card is coming across as the past that led to the decision to erect a statue of Princess Diana in the garden at Kensington palace.
The Two of Cups is a card about relationships and about choosing to be in a relationship. The relationship can be romantic, familial, or business. In this reading this card stands for two relationships, the one between William and Harry, and the one between the sons and their mother.
The card shows Eros rescuing Psyche from a rock in the sea, where she has been left to be devoured by a sea monster. Similarly, William has rescued and sheltered Harry to the best of his ability throughout their turbulent childhood. As he himself put it, "I have had an arm around my brother all my life". They had a close, loving bond, and together they shared the pain of their parent's divorce and their mother's death. The two of them were bound together in a close sibling relationship.
The two brothers both loved their mother dearly. After her death they wanted to erect a statue of her at Kensington Palace. William and Harry have worked together over several years to get this statue commissioned and installed. The unveiling is going to those and other memories to the forefront of their minds: memories of their mother, memories of the two of them as brothers, and memories of working together to make the statue a reality.
Normally, I would expect this to be a healing event that would bring some sort of closure to the emotions that inspired the idea of the statue in the first place, but given Harry's relentless merchandising of his mother over the past few years and his erasure of William from the story of their mother, I expect that other emotions will surface as well, such as pain, disgust, anger, hurt etc, and they will not be easy to deal with.
Card Two: The Tower. This card is coming across as the immediate present with respect to the statue unveiling, i.e. something that happens around this time (say two weeks either side of the date).
The Tower is the card of an unexpected, shocking event, the sort that reduces a part of your life to rubble and leaves you to rebuild from scratch. Some unexpected and shocking event is going to disrupt the statue unveiling.
I drew three clarifiers to see what this was about, two in the first draw and one in the second draw.
Clarifier One: The Seven of Cups. This is a card about having choices and deciding which one to follow. Someone is going to have to make a choice, and I think it will be William, Harry, or both, as they are the two living people most closely involved in the statue.
The card shows the goddess Aphrodite, and in this deck the gods usually stand for members of the BRF, so someone in the BRF is going to make a choice, and I think the choice will be forced upon them by other events/actions. Either Harry will do something that forces William to make a choice, or William/the BRF will do something that forces Harry to make a choice, or both (e.g. the BRF says or does something that has Harry making a choice that then forces William to make a choice).
No one is going to be particularly happy about this. You can see the figure of Psyche pleading with the goddess on the card - there will be pleading and begging involved (and my gut instinct is that the answer to be begging will be No). There is a sense of sternness here, like Aphrodite giving Psyche next-to-impossible tasks to perform if she wanted to see her husband again (reunite the family). These are not happy choices, and they may lead to a permanent split in the family.
Clarifier Two: Death. I really, really do not want to interpret this card. It can be a symbolic death or a literal death. Coming after the Seven of Cups, it tells me that someone s going to make a choice that will lead to a symbolic death or a literal death. The symbolic death could be a change in their fortune, as the card I drew after these two is the Wheel of Fortune. The physical death - I would need to pull more cards to see what that is about. I'm not getting one energy (symbolic or physical) dominating over the other energy here.
Clarifier Three: The Wheel of Fortune. The Tower is going to cause a change of fortune, either for the people involved in the event (i.e. William and Harry) and/or for the event itself (i.e. it will go from being an event to being cancelled). With William and Harry, the change in fortune does not have to be the same for both of them - one can go up in fortune and one can go down, and I think that is what is going to happen - William will rise and Harry will fall.
So the Tower event is a shocking, unexpected event that involves a choice or choices that will lead to death (symbolic or literal, or both) and then to a change in fortune for both William and Harry.
Card Three: The Six of Cups. This is coming through as the future after the statue unveiling (or not) and after the Tower event.
The Six of Cups is a card about nostalgia, childhood, children, looking back to the past, having a dream from the past appear to be possible in the future (although in a different form), drawing strength from the past to build your future, home, a simpler, happier life, and so on.
The card shows Psyche after her husband has deserted her, sitting on the rocks and reviewing her past. She is abandoned by her husband, but she is not unhappy. She has learnt something about herself from this crisis. In the aftermath, her memories of the past will give her the strength to go forward and work for a future where she will be with her husband again.
In this reading, the Six of Cups is coming through strongly as a reversed card (I almost flipped the card in the picture because of this).
As a reversed card, the six of cups can mean something wrong with or pain around a child or the childhood, living in the past, clinging to the past and not allowing yourself to separate from it and grow from it, acting like a child, wanting to stay as a child in the childhood home forever (and not growing into an adult), repeating old patterns, losing your childhood dreams. In terms of Psyche, it means that she has not learnt something about herself from the past crisis, she is upset rather than calm, and reviewing her memories gives her no strength or goal for the future, but just causes her pain.
This card will be the result of the Tower card. Here it is coming across as a split between siblings. We have two people involved in the statue unveiling - William and Harry - but only one figure on the card. One person, William, will learn about himself from the crisis of the Tower and will be able to use his memories of the past to go forward. The other person, Harry, will not, and will remain stuck in the pain of their past.
This card is coming across as a split in the family, like Psyche is alone without her husband. There used to be two (Eros and Psyche in the Two of Cups, William and Harry as close brothers) and now there will be one (Psyche without Eros, William without Harry). The reaction of each brother to the Tower event will widen the divide between them instead of bringing them closer together.
Underlying Energy One: The Magician. This is a card of transformation, of transmutation, and of change. It is a card of new beginnings and opportunities, where you take action and make choices and everything comes together to manifest your goal. It can be a card about being guided by fate - the book you read, the chance visit, the meeting with another person that all help to guide you along your path.
In this reading the energy of this card comes across as change. Something will change, is going to change, not in essence but in form, as the alchemist tried to turn lead into gold - both metals, but different forms of metal. The inner core will be the same, but the outer appearance or way of working in the world will change. Some choices (as per the Seven of Cups card) are going to guide something into a different form, while keeping the essential part of it the same. The changes from the old form to the new form may involve a death, as one metal 'dies' so another can 'live' in alchemy.
Underlying Energy Two: The Hierophant. This is a card of institutions, and here it represents the BRF. Coming after the Magician card, it says that the changes of the Magician card will take place within the BRF as an institution. I feel those changes as being linked to the Tower card and its clarifiers, as they are about change as well. I feel the link particularly strongly with the Wheel of Fortune card. The changes will impact the way the BRF operates as an institution as well as affecting the BRF as a family.
Dominant Suit: All three minor arcana cards in this reading are from the Cups suit. Cups is the suit of emotions, so there are a lot of emotions around this event.
Major Arcana cards: Five of the eight cards in this reading are major arcana cards, so a bit more than half. This is an event that will be public (major arcana) but also charged with private emotions (minor arcana, the cups suit). The event and the disruption to it will be public, but the emotions engendered by the vent and the disruption will be private, as you would expect from the public face of the British Royal Family at such an emotional event.
Conclusion: This reading comes across to me as past, present, and future. In the past, we have William and Harry working together to bring about a statue of their mother in the grounds at Kensington Palace, and more recently we have Harry taking over the story of Diana and using that to build his brand. Then in the near present, around the time of the statue unveiling, we have an unexpected, shocking event which concerns a literal or symbolic death and which may lead to the statue unveiling being scaled down or cancelled. Finally, in the future, we have a change in the relationship between Harry and William. Underneath all this lies a major change to the BRF as an institution (and not just to them as a family).
