Why did we (general, non-specific "we") decide that the liberals are the real enemy of leftism, and that the left should make common cause with the far right to destroy them? it just seems like a huge strategic error, and i was hoping that we all got that shit out of our system by now after seeing that it always leads to worse outcomes

Because when you're in an echo chamber, the enemy becomes the people slightly different to you and you forget that outside are people who deeply hate your guts and that democracy requires convincing the most amount of people to support your causes, not subdividing into the most ideologically pure factions.

e.g. The people complaining that I tagged a post with "israel hamas conflict" because they've spent most of their time on Tumblr with people who tag it "gaza genocide". Meanwhile, outside of Tumblr, more than half the country sees it as a war where we need to support Israel unconditionally and any civilian casualties are Hamas' fault and necessary sacrifices.

the day after J'onn died, a telepathic link is activated in the minds of Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Hal Jordan, Cynthia Reynolds, and Dinah Lance that causes them to record and recite J'onn's history of Mars. not only did he trust them to accept his martian form, he entrusted them with his account of his almost dead civilization. and they not only keep that promise by combining their part of the account into a book, but they also bury him on Mars so he could be reunited with his home at last

Superman being the orator at the funeral becomes even more fitting when J'onn recounts meeting a young Clark Kent in Smallville. they share not only a history, but a burden: as some of the last members of their civilizations, aliens on Earth, and heroes, J'onn frequently lent an ear to Clark's troubles

Batman is not known for his displays of affection, but the end of the comic makes clear that Bruce will miss him. with his cowl off, he leaves a single choco (the DC's version of oreos) on J'onn's casket and calls him an old friend before leaving back to Earth

J'onn's steady presence in the league is so important to their ability to come together, not just as an organization, but as a community. it is not the same without him

trans headcanons of the winchesters are always extremely fun to play around with and i can see most of them. but one that always rings slightly false to me, despite a love for it due to self-identification and the fact it’s definitely interesting, is transmasculine dean. simply because if you’re going according to canon this would require him to have transitioned at some point prior to johns death, probably much prior, probably as a youngish kid. and i genuinely do not think that ever could’ve happened. he values johns approval too much and is too scared of demanding too much of him.

like even aside from whether john is Actually transphobic (i doubt he’s like Cartoonishly transphobic he probably would be annoyed by it slash not care much, interpret ‘not caring’ however you want) just the whole Thing of coming out where you’re like. “Hey dad im actually a human person who has an internal sense of self and such that doesn’t happen to be You 2.0 and am not the gender you thought i was and i feel emotions to such an extent that i actually like need to transition”…….

no fucking way dean would ever be able to do that to john while he’s still alive. please. teenage transmasculine dean would be like Well yeah sure i want to be a guy but that’s not an option for me whatsofuckingever. and crucially he’d be like that even if he knew entirely about trans people. now this is why transfemme dean works so well. because you just know it would take her at least thirty years to even consider it for a singular second.
