okay so a very long post incoming.
the shock still hasn’t worn off. i asked misha about bi buck after days. weeks. of talking about it as a hypothetical and i got the BEST answer ever and caused extreme disarray in the destiel fandom.
people in my discord group can attest how often i was like ‘ooh i hope someone asks misha in a panel this weekend.’ ‘maybe we can all go in on a cameo and ask him that way instead?’ i was pretty annoying about it, i just. i NEEDED TO ASK.
so i got to the con thinking if only i could ask a question. then i went to misha’s solo panel but didn’t line up for some reason and then by the end, i regretted it because there was no last question and even misha commented on it. i thought damn now i only have tomorrow’s panel to do it. but i wrote down my question anyways and i thought i’m already here, i have to at least TRY.
i complained to my mother about how i really wanted to ask a question, but no way could i tell her i wanted to ask about buck and tommy kissing and destiel. she doesn’t even know destiel is a thing and she would not approve if she did. but i went to the panel by myself, luckily she didn’t have a ticket to the con anyways so she just waited in the hotel lobby after checking out (which was her choice. she listened to misha’s first panel on saturday from outside the room and didn’t want to sit through one again)
anyways so i go to the tomer/karen panel that was before his panel, and i’m on the right side right at the back, the complete opposite side where the people who ask questions are. then towards the end of that panel i move to the left side. i’m still at the back but i’m at the end of the row so i can easily move when i need to. then when the panel ends i go to ask a person who works at the con about asking a question. she says there are still people who didn’t get to ask their questions yesterday so they get priority, and the rest aren’t lining up yet. now i’m pretty confused because there was a distinct lack of questions at the end yesterday but whatever.
so i go to sit back down but there’s a line of people right where the question line was on saturday, so i join it thinking just in case she was wrong. well more people start to line up and she says ‘nobody is lining up to ask yet!!’ and i’m like okay so it’s fine, we really aren’t going yet.
then i sit back down and a few minutes later i see her directing like 4 or 5 people onto seats after she raises a paper saying ‘reserved for questions’ or something like that. so i think okay it’s my chance. i go up and she directs me into these seats that are closer to the front and is filled with like TEN people who are sitting in that ‘reserved for questions’ section. i think oh my god. there are so many people here. i text the discord saying ‘IM IN THE LINE.’
then the panel starts and i’m like okay well i’m towards the end and i’m close to the front now, i’ll take some pics. and as people ask their questions and sit in their original seats, we have to keep moving along the row of seats so we keep getting closer to the middle near the mic.
but then there’s half an hour and one of the people working for the con comes and says to the girl after me in the queue and the people behind her that they weren’t gonna get to ask. she tells the people at the front of the queue ‘i think just the first few of you will get to ask’ - at this point i’m like the 5th/6th in line (after the person at the mic and the person waiting behind them) so i’m not very optimistic at all. and then.
so i tell my discord ‘yeah i don’t think i’m gonna get to ask’ because i’m still pretty far from the end by the mic.
Tumblr media
and then the panel goes on and there ends up being two people, one at the mic, one standing behind them. and one of the people working for the con tells me, THE NEXT PERSON IN LINE, ‘sorry, you won’t get to ask.’ and i am DEVASTATED. i tell the discord ‘yeah i’m definitely not gonna ask.’
Tumblr media
i’m thinking I SERIOUSLY just wasted this whole panel shuffling seats and worrying for nothing (i had also just left my bag with all my stuff on a random seat!) so i sit there annoyed and sad for a minute until i see sean (the con organiser) by the stage and he tells her that i can go up last i guess. so she comes up to me and tells me i will be up next and to stand behind the people at the mic and i’m SHAKING.
i get in the line and i text on the discord that i’m the last question.
Tumblr media
then i stand there listening to the questions before me just thinking oh my god misha is right there and i’m gonna be the last question and oh my god it’s gonna be such a good question. because i saw how much chaos misha caused with his questions on saturday and in this panel i don’t think anyone asked about destiel. so i thought!!! this is gonna be good!!!
and then i get to the mic and they’re all on stage and sean is next to it and says it’s the last question so it’s gotta be a good one. and then alex and rob and misha are all like oohhh it’s the last question but then MISHA. FUCKING. comes off the stage and comes up to me holding the mic and is two feet from me and looks me in the eyes and says ‘don’t fuck it up.’ but i’m like it’s on my phone! i got it written down! and well you’ve all seen the pictures of him looking right into my eyes but i’ll show you again.
so the first two four of these next photos we were making eye contact. i remember when he came up to me i was looking at all the lines on his face thinking man he’s so pretty and he’s right in front of me what the fuck.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but in these last two i wasn’t looking at him. he was just looking at me. which is just insane to see in retrospect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after this i think he went back to the stage and i was like okay this last question is for misha and he cheered i guess. i think i blacked out tbh.
Tumblr media
now when he got back to the stage i think this was when rob started singing the last question song because i remember thinking like damn i need to ask this question before i cry or something. misha was just standing there and looking at me - from the stage this time and i was. freaking out.
after that singing was done i said ‘this question is kinda about destiel, just to warn you in advance.’ and then apparently rob said ‘perfect last question’ and i started asking my question.
i started with saying ‘so there’s this show called 911’ and SO many people started cheering. i was immediately so much more comfortable because i could tell people would know where this was going. especially when after i carried on with: ‘it moved networks from fox to abc in it’s 7th season. and there’s a main character named buck who in the 4th episode kissed another man’ and then people started cheering AGAIN.
and anyways you all know the rest by now. i said ‘the actor who played him reported that they wanted to do something like it earlier in the show, but when they moved networks they were allowed to make it happen. if supernatural moved networks earlier on, or if it was made later on, do you think something like that could have happened with dean and cas?’
and we ALL know misha’s reply by now. ‘if the cw wasn’t so homophobic, dean and cas would have been balls deep for sure.’ i vividly remember being like OH MY GOD (in my head) and then i put my head in my hands a little and apparently. so did misha. which is to be expected i mean that was wild.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after that he said he was gonna actually give a semi earnest answer and said some things that are shown in these tweets. i remember bits and pieces because i was trying to hold eye contact with misha but i occasionally looked down and played with the mic a little but didn’t want to seem too uninterested. i loved his answer. the thread in this tweet has the general gist of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and if you wanna see the question i had written down and open on my phone, which i edited RIGHT before the panel as you can see from the timestamp (don't judge me for the second question it was just a backup) and a picture of misha looking at my phone. here it is.

"𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐦𝐞..”
Tumblr media
Part 1 | Dabi x fem!Reader
CW: yandere themes, some mentions of noncon, gaslighting, manipulation, kidnapping, complicated feelings, stockholm syndrome (?), this part contains only reader’s memories.
SYNOPSIS: you are finally saved from the hands of your captor, who was now locked up, far away from you. But to this day, the memory of him still haunts you in your dreams, still so present in your life, still reminding you that you are his girl.
Part 2 / REBLOGS ARE APPRECIATED!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Baby..come to me”
“.. don’t leave me waiting”
“Pretty girl~”
“Wherever you are, I will come find you”
You awoke with a jolt, sweat dripping down your face. Your own heartbeats filled your ears, almost pumping out of your ribcage, as the voices you were hearing faded into the distance. Trembling, you pulled yourself out of the bed to grab a glass of water, your throat dry and sore. As the coldness of the water shook the tense feeling off your body and gave you some clarity, you took in a deep breath, calming yourself down from whatever nightmare, or sleep paralysis you had. Your eyes wandered around your apartment, at every corner and every furniture.
“You are alone” you whispered to yourself, repeating the words over and over. “You’re alone and safe. Nobody is here, nothing can harm you”
Nothing can harm you anymore.
It had been a year since since everything changed, since you finally managed to escape the claws of your captor, your lover. And yet you still get haunted by those events, still afraid of the darkness, often having panic attacks and anxiety hitting through the roof whenever you are alone. Paranoia was part of your life, to the point you had to consult with a professional and get help. Everywhere, at any time, you felt like you were being watched. But nobody was there.
Not anymore.
“I am safe” you repeated once again. “Nobody is there. It’s all in my head. Everything is okay. He is not here anymore”
Those piercing blue eyes that almost glowed in the darkness were not watching you anymore. Those eyes that could burn you just by looking at them, making you feel smaller and smaller, afraid to even move an inch as they studied you, devoured your appearance from head to toe.
“A sight for sore eyes” he would always say, his hand coming to grab at your chin, gently, making you look at him. And there it was again, a sly grin plastered on his scarred face, a grin that held nothing but danger. You knew just in that moment how much he wanted to hurt you. It made him feel good he said, the way tears rolled down your cheeks whenever he marked your body, the way you were so weak beneath him and broke so beautifully. The more you screamed, the more he hurt you. And as he hurt you, he would whisper sweet nothings in your ear, kiss your face so gently while his hand gripped your thigh and left a nasty burn mark. He would kiss your forehead and shush you, while he rammed inside you so ruthlessly, tearing you apart. He would lick off your tears and tell you how pretty you were as he took every inch of your body.
“P-Please… I-I can’t do this anymore!” the memories came back in your mind, clear as day, one of the many horrible things you had to endure from his hands.
“Hold on a bit longer for me baby..” he growled, his eyes rolling back in pure bliss. “Ngh-Jus’a bit longer..”
“N-No that’s enough!” you whined in desperation. “Stop it..”
Stop it Dabi.
Dabi.
Even the memory of his name made your skin crawl and your hands sweating, you couldn’t even say it outloud anymore. Because the only times you said it outloud were when you were begging for him to stop, to not hurt you anymore, to let you go.
And each time, he always replied by saying how good his name sounds rolling down that pretty tongue of yours, say it again, a bit louder this time for him.
“Dabi..” you whispered, not even aware that you said his name, completely lost in your memories as he ordered you to repeat his name again. You brought your hand on your mouth, realising what you just did.
You were alone in the living room, far far away from his reach and yet he still had a great impact in your life, as if he was still living with you everyday. You could still hear his voice in your dreams, you could see his shadow lurking, his tall figure towering over you, the scent of burned flesh lingering around.
It had been a year since he got locked away in Tartarus, a prison for high ranked villains which was said to be worse than hell itself. Though that had little to no impact on the devil.
You used to call him that, an evil man beyond words, how much you hated him, and yet..
Yet he made you believe that he was your true love. That no other person in this world could ever make you feel this way, fear, arousement, passion, warmth all at once. To Dabi, you were his goddess, the light of his life, as he used to say, the prettiest girl in the world, only for him to use. You were the cure to his heart, if he ever had one, your touch made his burnt scars feel less painful, it made all the pain go away. Your voice, your moans, your cries and your laughter were music to his ears, he wanted all of them. Dabi wanted all of you. He wanted you at your best, he wanted you at your worst, he wanted you broken, only for him to fix you as he pleased.
“You’re mine” Dabi would say, a possessive grip on your waist as he brought you closer to himself. “Don’t ever forget that. Even if we are far apart, even if years go by, you are forever mine princess..”
You gulped while remembering his words, those words he would always repeat until they were engraved in your brain.
He was locked away, with no chance of ever coming out of there, everything between you both had ended, you were a free bird.
And deep down you still felt his. You were afraid to not be his. You were afraid of what would become of you if you weren’t Dabi’s girl. Because you had forgotten who you were before him. He made sure of it. You could never be a normal functioning human being. He turned your brain into mush, designed you just the way he wanted to, to the point that no matter how much you hated him, your desire for him kept growing stronger.
You hated him. And you hated that you missed him. You should’ve been happy, this was what you always dreamed of, right? You always wished for him to just die, to disappear, you wished to be free. And now you were free.
And empty.
Was he really your true love?
“Tell me that you love me..” he grunted, sweat dripping down his chest as he continued to thrust in and out of you, your cunt greedily swallowing every inch of his cock.
“I-I love you..” you whimpered.
“Louder” he ordered, giving you one harsh thrust that made you yelp. “C’mon!”
“Love you. I love you, Dabi. I love y-you…nmmmhf I love you!”
And it did feel like love for a moment. When he kissed you through your orgasm, saying that you’re doing so well, both your bodies sticky and sweaty as you held into one another. As you fell asleep in his arms while he caressed your hair. It all felt good, it made you forget that in reality you were actually his captive.
You were cut off from the outside world, your friends, family, work colleagues, nobody could get in touch with you anymore. Dabi created a new world for you, and in this new world of yours he would be the only person in your life. Nobody was ever that worthy of you, he got rid of anything and anyone that got in his way.
“It’s not safe for ya out there baby..” he would tell you. “The world is ugly, and it can hurt you, just the way it hurt me. Just the way it hurt all of us that society calls villains today.. but I won’t allow it. Don’t you realise how much I am protecting you?”
He made you believe that you were much safer with him, yet he was the only one to hurt you. But he made that clear as well.
“You are not protecting me! You are hurting me!” you screamed at him while he had you tied down on the bed after another failed attempt of yours to escape and run away.
“Didn’t I tell you princess? I’ll protect you from everyone, except me..” Dabi smirked at your teary face. “I am the only one to love on you, the only one to hurt you and make you cry, the only one to break you. Nobody else. You were just made for me, dollface..”
You went back to bed, trying to make those memories fade away and fall asleep. Little did you know that tomorrow morning, another letter would arrive at your doorstep. The pile was slowly growing. You didn’t throw them, nor did you open to read them. They stayed in the box, unopened, you were terrified of what the letters would contain.
Letters from Tartarus.
It was clear, he never gave up on you. To this day, he would send you letters from time to time. You had the opportunity to call the prison and make it all stop of course, so he would never send you any letters again.
But you didn’t. You wished he would stop, and yet you couldn’t make him stop. It’s like one part of you wanted him, found comfort at the fact that you were not alone, that you still were his girl. And that very same fact made you throw up as well, you hated it so much.
What’s wrong with me, you wondered.
“Nothing’s wrong with you princess, you just miss me that’s all..” you could hear his voice answering in your head, amusement in his tone.
Maybe if you read all his letters it will go away, this feeling would disappear. Read them and then burn them. And then cut off contact for good. He won’t haunt you anymore, right? He can’t get out of there.
Dabi definitely will get out of there. And he won’t be pleased knowing that you have ignored him all this time. What will you do then? How will you explain yourself to him?
“Tomorrow morning I will read them” you whispered to yourself. For now, you decided to empty your head from all the dark thoughts and just go back to sleep.
During the same time, far away, to the heavy guarded area of Tartarus, he sat there on his cell, his eyes glued to the door, waiting. Patiently waiting, contemplating, while his fingers fixed each of the staples decorating his hand.
Finally a guard passed by, stopping right in front of the cell. Dabi stood up, approaching the door, peeking through the small hole to look at the guard’s face.
“So..” Dabi spoke. “Got anything f’me?”
“Nothing” the guard replied. “I looked through all the letters the prisoners received, though none of it was sent to you nor had your name. You sure your girlfriend hasn’t ditched you? You’ve been sending letters for a while and yet no reply”
Dabi chuckled, turning away and ignoring the guard’s words. “She’ll come around, little angel is just nervous..” he whispered to himself.
“Hey” the guard called him again. “Ya sure you don’t want one of us to check on her?”
The guard was in fact one of the PLF’s men, surely on Dabi’s side, making sure to check on him until the escape plan is executed.
“Send one of our people on her way” Dabi said. “Just to notify her that I’m looking forward to our reunion soon~”

Wouldn't let you date my child
Tuva Hansen x reader
Tumblr media
Besides the girls from the second team, I was the youngest one in the Bayern squad.
Only being 19 and already playing for Bayern München and the German national team was insane.
And even though it didn't make a difference while playing, they still liked to make fun of me for being the youngest.
Not in a bad way, since there wasn't such a huge age difference between me and the other players, but they just couldnt resist.
And then there were Magda and Pernille.
They joint Bayern at the same time as me and kind of took me under their wing.
Something our teammates liked to made fun of too, they said that they adopted me.
And to be honest I cant say that I don't like the thought of that, they are really nice to me and helped me a lot to get used to a new team and city.
"P, who would you not let date your child?" I hear Zadi asking as I put my suitcase into the bus. We are on our way to our away game in Duisburg and I think she got bored of waiting.
She has pointed her phone at Pernille, recording the question and her answer.
"Mhmm....Tuva I think." she then says, laughing.
I watch Zadi asking the same question to some other players and I notice that a lot of them actually say Tuva.
I stay outside until I see Magda coming towards Zaid, cause I am really curious about her answer.
She asks her the question and Magda laughs, "I cant say that, I think it's sorta mean."
"Magda." Zadi complains.
"Tuva." Magda then whispers, making Zadi laugh.
I get into the bus and take my usual spot behind Magda and Pernille.
"Hey P." I hear Glodis shouting, she is siting a few rows before us, a big smile on her face.
"Why wouldn't you let Y/N date Tuva?" she asks, making the others around us laugh.
"Why wouldn't you let your child date Georgia?" she replies and I notice Tuva looking at me.
I smile at her and notice her cheeks getting a little red before she looks away.
We fly out to Duisburg and when we get to our hotel it is already late, we all eat dinner together before going to our rooms.
Since Kathi isn't here because of her injury I get a single room and after I settled in I hear a slight knock on the door.
"Hey there." I greet Tuva, she's already dressed in some joggers and a Bayern hoodie.
"Sorry but I cant come in." she says, but takes a step inside so I can close the door behind her.
"Why not?" I ask, leaning against the wall.
"Your adoptive moms don't want you to date me." she says but by the smile on her face I know that she isn't serious and she comes closer to me.
She places her hand against the wall, next to my head and I look at her innocently.
"Really, well in that case.....maybe you should go back to your room." I say, trying to step aside but she quickly places her other hand also on the wall, so I am trapped between them.
"Or maybe I should just ignore what they think."
As an answer to that, I pull her closer and softly kiss her.
"I think option two is the better one." I whisper in the space between us as we brake apart.
"Good, because I really don't want to brake up with you, like ever."
I pull her into a hug and let my head rest on her shoulder.
"Do you think they really mean what they say?" I ask as we are lay down on my bed, Tuva instantly pulling me into her arms.
"A little maybe, but I don't think anybody from the team would tell their child who they can date and not date." she says, softly pushing some hair out of my face.
"I know I think to much about what people may think of me and technically Magda and P aren't even my parents but, except for you, they are the closest thing to family I have here." I say and she smiles at me.
"Yeah, but I they will always love you. They would rather kill me if I hurt you.."
I laugh at her answer and place a kiss on her cheek, we've only been together for seven months but I love her so damn much.
"Do you really think we are a family?" she asks after some seconds, referring to what I said earlier.
My heart melts at her question, Jesus I have so much love for her.
"Yes, I...I do think that." I say and feel her pulling me a little bit closer to her. "You and also Vilja are my family, and the team of course too."
"Oh yeah Vilja definitely thinks that too, she already loves you more than me."
"That's so not true."
"Oh yeah? You remember our walk last Saturday? When we both called her and she went straight to you."
"Maybe I am just so lovable." I suggest and she laughs, before pressing a kiss to my lips.
"Oh you defiantly are."
I let my head rest on her shoulder and Tuva pulls a blanked around us.
"I wish you could stay here tonight." I say, we talked about this topic a lot already, we thought about talking to the stuff so that we could be roomies but we didn't want anyone to get suspicious.
And even though I had a single room, we didn't want Lea to worry why Tuva wasn't sleeping in their room.
"Me too, but you can stay at my place tomorrow night if you like." she says and I nod.
"I will never say no to that."
She softly starts to run her fingers through my hair and it gets harder to keep my eyes open.
It is always like that with her, she makes me feel so safe and when I am laying in her arms, her running her hand through my hair. And when she then starts to talk to me in her native language, I tend to fall asleep.
"You should sleep, Søta." she whispers and I open my eyes again.
"Only if I get a goodnight kiss." I give in.
"Always." she softly places on hand on my cheek and then her lips meet mine.
I love the way they feel against mine and in the way she kisses me I can feel the love that is between us.
I am so lucky to have her.
"Goodnight." she whispers and gets up.
"Goodnight, Tuva." I answer and follow her to the door, she gives me another kiss before leaving and I quickly brush my teeth and then go back to bed.
------
The game the next day goes really well, Duisburg scores in the first half but after the break we score five times and take the three points home with us.
After the next training session I find a small note, tucked inside my shoes.
"Meet me outside, love T."
Tomorrow most of us are leaving for trainings camp with their national team so she probably wants to say goodbye to me.
I quickly change my cloths and collect my stuff, before saying goodbye to the others.
When I exit the locker room I hear Magda shouting something but I cant hear what it is.
I go to the spot where we usually meet after training and as I go around the corner I see her leaning against the wall.
"Hey." I say and for a few seconds I allow my self to get lost in the blue of her eyes.
"I wanted to say goodbye." she explains and takes me hand "But not here."
She pulls me down the hall and into a small room that is normally used for med tests, but there is nobody in it.
I put my bag down and Tuva pulls me into her arms.
"I'm gonna miss you." she whispers against my head.
I take a deep breath and inhale her scent before answering.
"I will miss you too."
She smiles, softly kissing my head.
"You know that we both have a couple of days off, after our last international game." she says and I nod.
"Yeah?"
"I thought...maybe...only if you want to...then..."
"Tuva." I softly say and she laughs, it is more than cute when she is this nervous.
"I could book you a flight no Norway and you could come with me to where I grow up, meet my parents, see my other home." she suggests.
"Other home?"
"Well that place, where my family is, is my home. But you are my home too." she explains and I smile.
"I would love to see your other home."
"Good, I will get you a ticket later." she says and I lean my head against her shoulder.
She places her hand on my cheek and softly rubs her thumb over my skin.
I lean back and softly kiss her, not wanting to let go of her yet.
And as she pulls me closer, my body crashing against hers, the door next to us flys open.
"Y/N I....WHOA!"
Tuva lets go of me but her hand is still holding mine.
"WHAT THE FUCK" Magda says, in a volume that now everyone probably heard it.
"Your good?" I hear Pernille asking from outside and then she comes in too.
"What's going on?" she asks as she sees me and Tuva standing there.
"They kissed." Magda says and points at us.
"Who kissed?" I hear Georgia asks and just some seconds after she comes in along with Linda and Jill.
"Tuva." Magda says, her voice so much deeper than usual that it scares me a little bit.
She takes a step forward and with one arm Tuva shoves me behind her back (something that would actually be really cute in another situation).
"Yes?"
"You are a really good player and I appreciate it that you always have my back on the field....BUT....if you hurt her or do anything to make her cry.....then I-" at that point of her speech, she reaches out and pokes her finger into Tuva's shoulder.
"-will hurt you!"
"I would never hurt her." Tuva answers, grabbing my hand a bit tighter.
"Babe....I think they're old enough to have a relationship." Pernille softly says, smiling at me but pulling Magda backwards.
"Well I guess your child doesn't care what you say about not dating someone." Glodis says from the door, I didn't even notice her coming in.
Magda turns back towards Tuva.
"You better be good Hansen!"

I’m not sure how much sense this will make since it’s almost midnight, but am I crazy for thinking how insane it is for Charles to go “I can’t say that I’m in love with you back or anything” and then immediately follow up with “but there’s no one else who I’d go to Hell for”? Cause like, my brain doesn’t know how to not interpret that as Charles reciprocating Edwin’s specific type of love, but not realizing it. Maybe it’s because I grew up in a super religious household so I already have some predispositions about Heaven and Hell, but my point of view for that is just thinking that someone better be pretty damn special for me to go to Hell for them. Like a wife or kid kind of special.
I don't think its crazy to interpret it that way at all. I think its rare to find that level of devotion among two people and when used as a trope it is usually related to extreme romantic love - see the OG Orpheus and Euridice as the prime example. Charles comparing himself to Orpheus in that moment (however naively because he didn't know how the story ended) is far more telling than he seems to realise.
That's not to say that only people with romantic/passionate feelings for someone can experience that level of devotion. Familial and forms of queer platonic love can also certainly be that devoted, and I have seen a lot of people talking about how they view the boys relationship as a queer platonic one, where Charles in particular, doesn't need to feel romantic love in order to be completely devoted to Edwin. I think that's a really great form of representation and can go someway to explaining how much of a deep and profound bond the two have (as a SPN fan I do not use that term lightly lol).
Though I think throughout the series we see Charles display forms of jealousy towards Edwin's connection with Monty and the Cat King, and he does also confirm he likes Crystal because she reminds him of Edwin - even he was joking at the time. I also think it was lovely that in the confession he doesn't once say that he isn't into guys, or that he doesn't think he could ever feel something more romantic for Edwin. He just says he isn't in love with him at that point. Whether or not that particular statement was the whole truth or just Charles' own form of denial and inability to properly process the confession since they were literally running away from a horrible giant spider doll demon from Hell at that point in time remains to be seen.
I think enough hints have also been dropped during cast and writer interviews that if they get a season two, it will go some way to explore Charles' own feelings and build on the aftermath of that confession. Whatever the situation between them is, it is the primary relationship of the show and it is quite clearly built on love and devotion regardless of what forms they or we interpret that as. They have literally forever to figure it out, and I really hope we get to watch at least some of that!

Honor Among Gods
Ok. This is another purely indulgent thing.
Those who've been here a while would remember that there was once a character named Hesper. She is a demigod, daughter of Nyx.
My good friend @thesoftieanon made her and well... We went wild.
I'm not kidding. This is over 20 pages long. And I'm posting it not only to share one of my favorite short stories I've cowritten with someone since making this blog, but this is here for me because the formatting makes it easier to reread. XD
This is a universe where Hesper got paired with The Fierce Deity. It is naturally written in his point of view. Enjoy.

Content under the cut!
When he was able to open his eyes again, he was undeterred by the sight of monsters and battle. He got right to work to take care of the problem, knowing that his host was desperate at best to eliminate these pests.
These monsters were stronger than he knew his host could handle. It didn’t take a genius to conclude this was why his help was required.
The boys around him were familiar forces at this point. He could feel them from a distance but now he had faces to the forces he could only remotely feel.
Except for one.
A young woman traveled with them at this point. She fought valiantly, growling back at the beast in front of her. She fought like none other he had ever seen before. She wore dark clothing and nearly rivaled his own height without the restrictions of his host. He couldn’t see her face from the cloth that covered every part of her body.
There was an energy about her. Something that called for his respect and devotion. She was nowhere near as overbearing as the Great Ones, but surely, unmistakingly one of them.
He was so distracted by the sight of someone new and different, that the monster, despite bleeding profusely from multiple gashes across its body, proceeded to knock her off her feet and drive its weapon into her shoulder.
The Fierce Deity sprang into action and body-slammed the creature without a second thought, finishing the beast with a solid swipe to the neck. He turned and pulled the weapon out of the girl. In retrospect, he should have been more gentle. He regrets his rash actions immediately.
She yells in pain but it gets stuck in her throat at the sight of him towering above her. His own breath gets stuck in her throat. She surely belongs among the Great Ones. Her eyes are filled with innumerable stars. There’s a depth and alluring presence to them. He’d dare to stare for longer had another cry of anguish not catch his attention.
The battle continues to rage on around him and his work is still needed.
The Fierce Deity continues to fight, leaving the young goddess behind. As the fight comes to a close, his host removes him once more and he has returned to the world of darkness around him. As darkness falls on the outside world, his host rests for the day. It is here that the old god decides to ask about the maiden from before.
“Hero.” He calls into the mind of his chosen.
He feels the body wither and groan in response.  Exhaustion plagues his mind and body heavily, but his curiosity runs deeper than the needs of mortals. “Yes?”
“Tell me about the Great One’s kin.” He says, because he’s not entirely sure if she herself is one of the Great Ones or merely a Lesser One. He is sure, however, about her status among mortals is not one and the same.
“The what?” The once boy replies.
“The young woman.” He feels himself growing impatient. Who else could he be possibly talking about other than one of the most breathtaking individuals he has ever seen among the sixteen realms?
His host groans once more. Vaguely, the cursed one can feel the sluggish mind of his host put the dots together to whom he may be talking about. “Woman…. Hesper? Are you talking about Hesper?”
A soothing balm covers his irritation in an instant. He hums and echoes the name pleasantly. “Hesper. So that is her name… Divine, indeed. Tell me more.”
“No.”
“Boy-”
“No. It’s three in the morning. I am trying to sleep.”
That does not dissuade the old god.
It takes the course of multiple days, but the Fierce Deity eventually gleans information about the girl and her kin. She is from a distant realm beyond their borders of reality. She is in fact a daughter of the Great Ones- but of her own realm. There appear to be many Great Ones where she is from. She is a daughter of a goddess named Nyx- a goddess and personification of night, and mother to many monsters and other Great Ones.
However, Hesper herself is not a Great One, much to his disappointment and displeasure. She is half-mortal. There are many like her in her realm. Such one travels with the group as well. A young boy no older than seven. The Deity is told that the boy cannot speak with his tongue and rather uses his hands much like another boy he used to know. He is the opposite of his half-sister. She is dark and of the night. The boy is bright and of the day. To his knowledge, the boy was abandoned by his mother for not sticking to the code of her other children.
The Fierce Deity feels an indignant twitch in his eye once he is told but he cannot speak against such ones for his own sake. Hesper, however, does not seem to mind. The boy, named Sol, is very much her kin and responsibility.
When asked about her attire, the Deity was told that Hesper was born with a curse and natural susceptibility to sunlight. She cannot be touched by it or she will suffer.
Knowing all of this only causes the old god to want to know more about her.
Those eyes that he stared into haunt with every waking second. And for an immortal being without any need for rest, he has a lot of time on his hands to think of her. Should it come to it, he would fight by her side. He would devote himself to her. He would be her sword and her shield so she wouldn’t ever have to come near danger ever again. He cannot bear the thought of such a wondrous creature falling in the path of another blade. He still remembers her scream of pain. It is maddening.
Curiously, one day, the young boy Sol finds him among the hidden weapons and masks belonging to his host. The Fierce Deity is vaguely aware of the boy’s spirit. He is energetic and flighty- prone to joking with seemingly never-ending mischievous intentions.
He picks up the mask and studies him. The god doesn’t know of the boy’s intentions with his prison but he wonders how he passes the guard of his host. This is not a normal occurrence.
The boy drops the mask and something falls on top of it- cracking the visage.
The chains rattle around him and the Fierce Deity can feel the power of the prison slipping away as the seconds pass. It takes only a moment for him to find the weakest link and strike through it.
He is free.
His body forms from under the rubble and the boy stares up at him with what can only describe as shock and awe. It appears that while he dropped the mask, many things fell over as well, falling on top of the mask to strike just where it needed to. A lucky strike, so to speak.
His old host stands next to the boy, equally shocked and on edge. Any words he may have intended to say to the youngest die on his tongue once his eyes land on his imposing figure. His old host is no longer the boy he once knew. Pride swells up in him to see the man he has grown into. But neither of them are the one he wishes to see the most right now.
As if summoned by the commotion, Hesper herself comes from the woodwork, instantly b-lining for her young brother.
As soon as she nears, the deity drops to his knee, bowing toward the daughter of night.
She freezes at the sight of him, looking between him and his former host. She takes a step back. Hesper clears her throat and looks away from him. “... Is this normal?”
The Fierce Deity is unfamiliar with the emotions causing his heart to race but he knows that she is worthy of the honor and respect he gives her. “All others shield themselves from the morning sun- yet it is the starlight’s beauty that gains the admiration of mere men. I finally understand where they meet their folly."
Her jaw falls softly. Although it is covered by the cloth to shield her from the afternoon rays, he can see the shock drape over her face. She spins around, trying to find some sort of response to his words but no one is able to help her. She gulps. “I… thank you?”
His former host gains his sense of self first. He walks toward the two of them, putting himself in between. “Hesper, I’d like to apologize on his behalf-”
“Do not apologize for me.” The Deity growls. “I’ve waited for millennia. I refuse to wait any longer.”
"Millennia for what?? You- who are you?" Hesper blinks, completely perplexed. She then squints, recalling a time she'd gotten messed up on the battlefield no less than a week ago. "Wait... it's you. The deit- why are you bowing to me?"
Her recognition of him is exciting. The Fierce Deity straightens in his pose, keeping his knee firmly on the first floor. "Because you are the most exquisite jewel among mortal men."
Hesper gulps again, taking another step back. A hand raises, and a finger points towards her as if to question if he’s truly talking about her. As if he’d say that about anyone else. It’s a soft look. Her eyes widen, and a blush peeks out from under her mask. "W... what?"
"You are a daughter of the night." He says easily. "The jewels of the heavens are your birthright. And I am forever at your beck and call, my queen."
The Fierce Deity is too taken by the young woman in front of him to notice that the camp has gone silent. They are watching the interaction with intense interest. Sol looks around the group, not quite understanding what is transpiring.
Time’s jaw has dropped as well. Something compels him to attempt to regain control over the situation. Before he can act, however, Sol tugs on his sleeve. He signs. ‘Is he bad? Like the gods at home?’
Time sighs and shakes his head. "Yes and no. But I think you and your sister are safe."
‘Okay... why is he saying all that stuff about Hesper?’ Sol lights up suddenly. ‘Does he like her?? Is that what he meant by jewel?’
Time is fighting back the second-hand embarrassment as much as he can. "It appears soooo… He's always been more on the poetic side of prose."
He is not going to tell Sol that FD tried to farm him for information about his sister.
‘Oh, I see! Well, hopefully he doesn't just like her for her power, she hates that.’ Sol turns just in time to make eye contact with FD and waves with a grin.
The Fierce Deity smiles back in kind, making even Time take a step back. He waves and beckons the small child closer.
Sol runs up, no hesitation, and Hesper tenses. ‘Hi, I'm Sol! You like my big sister, huh?’
The old god’s face softens at the sign. The boy looks a lot like Link did when he was little. He reaches out to ruffle the hair of the younger one. "I've been bewitched by her splendor, little one. There is little who can compare. Are you the protector of this maiden?"
‘Yeah! If you wanna date my sister, you can't just use fancy words! You gotta pass my test!’
"Ah, Sol-" Hesper starts, alarmed.
The Fierce Deity grins. "Of course! A maiden of her caliber cannot be won alone by fanciful speech."
He reaches over, picking him up effortlessly and puts him on his shoulders. "Tell me, child, what quest is in need of pursuing?"
Sol grins back. ‘Well, to start, what do you like about her? Is she just a jewel to you?’
Hesper keeps her hand against her heart, watching the interaction with bated breath and a hand on a blade. Her heart is pounding in her chest.
"A jewel is more than its shine and splendor." He says easily, holding his hand out for her to take as he makes his way into the middle of the camp. It wouldn't look well on his part to leave her behind, now would it.
"I was enamored by her wit." He admits. "And her fortitude."
Hesper takes it after he says that, keeping the other readily on her blade.
‘Fortitude? What's that mean? Sounds cool!’ Sol, however, is unbothered by this hulking man, singing the praises of his older sister. He is very quickly gaining his approval.
"It means to take courage despite the pain." The old god whispers, looking at her reaction. There's no mistaking that he's smitten with her. Something that the rest of the group are quick to clue in on.
As well as the young woman. Despite her unwillingness to instantly trust this man, his face speaks of nothing but genuine emotion and intention. Does… he truly mean what he says?
The grip on her blade loosens.
Sol keeps signing. ‘Wow, you know her really well! How long have you been in love with her?’
"Sol!" Time cuts him off, mortified on Hesper's behalf. "I think that's a conversation for them to have."
"No way, this is getting good!" Legend waves him off.
Time pinches the bridge of his nose. "You're all horrible."
Sol tilts his head. ‘I'm just saying! He's obviously known her for a while, but she doesn't know him at all!’
"That's... why it should be a conversation between us." Hesper says quietly.
‘Oh? So you're okay with him?’
"... For now." She decides, releasing her blade entirely.
‘Okay! Good job, you passed for now!’
Even more pride swells within the chest of the deity. He finds himself standing straighter and smiles at the young boy on his shoulders. He feels as if he is beaming. “My many thanks.”
Sol clambers off him to go play with Wind, leaving his sister behind and thoroughly embarrassed. The deity watches his interest. He’s admittedly always had a soft spot for little ones.
Hesper on the other hand has succumbed to her embarrassment, covering her face with one of her hands.  Her voice is quiet and strained. A mere squeak of its usual glory. “Oh my gods…”
The Fierce Deity sees no problem with this. He turns to her once again, bending at his knee with his head down. "My queen."
He awaits her direction.
"Ah- you don't have to bow, standing or sitting or- whatever you want to do is fine!" Hesper puts her hands out in an attempt to stop him from showing the proper respect she deserves. He does not understand why she attempts this. He can only assume that she's not used to this kind of treatment. Although he cannot imagine why.
Something about that level of innocence ignites his wicked streak. He smirks a bit. "And if I want to do this?"
"For crying out loud, don't make it harder on the poor girl." Time groans.
"... That's fine." Hesper barely manages to squeak out. She can't look at him. The deity hadn’t even thought it was possible for her to appear bashful. It’s an endearing look on her.
The Fierce Deity reaches out, brushing a bit of hair out of her face. "Beautiful... What a lovely shade you don, dearest.”
"I-I'm going to patrol-!" Hesper yells, taking a step back into the shadows and disappearing in a blink of an eye.
He blinks as he stares into the space where she once had been. Shadow travel? Exquisite. Is there anything she isn’t capable of? Curse aside, of course.
"Awwww..." Sky pouts. "She left before it got good."
Time is internally screaming. This has already gotten out of hand. He can't do anything to reel him in and he knows it.
Hesper is on her own, he decides. Which is unfortunate for her, but entertaining for everyone else.
Sol somehow has the sense to sign 'Hey mister, I think you overdid it.'
Wind nods along with him. "She's not used to compliments, take it from me. I called her pretty once and she hid her face again!"
The Fierce Deity frowns. "Is there such a thing? How could she not get compliments? She's one of a kind. A daughter of the Great One.... does she not have suitors?"
Sol shakes his head. 'Everyone back home thinks she's scary... at least that's what she said.’
Wind slowly nods along, wincing.
The old god glares in the space beyond the group. "Unacceptable.”
'I mean they're scared of Momma too, but I dunno why.' Sol shrugs. 'They're not scared of me.'
Sol does not understand that many fear such creatures of the night no matter what their size or shape. Their intentions and actions do not matter to the creatures of the day. However, that is of little excuse. The Fierce Deity doesn’t understand it either.
"Cowards."
The old god takes a deep breath.
Sol shrugs and goes back to playing with Wind.
It isn’t long until Sol returns and all but tackles the deity. ‘I have a question.’
“And what is it you intend to ask, little one?” The Deity turns to look at the young boy. He allows him to crawl over him, digging into his sides and his armor to perch himself over his shoulder.
‘Are you going to marry my sister?’
“If she’ll have me.”
Sol nods sagely. ’You’ll need an apple.’
“An apple?” Another thing the deity does not understand. “Is such a thing required for the hand of maidens where you’re from?”
Sol nods once again, more enthusiastically. ‘You have to throw it to her. If she catches it, she’ll marry you.’
The Fierce Deity remembers this and allows the child to get off of him as he returns to playing around with the other boys. He knows he must win over the young woman first but such knowledge is useful for the future.
Hesper doesn’t return until the break of twilight. The Fierce Deity had been attending and entertaining the younger ones when Sol had all but collapsed against him. Hesper collects the child without missing a beat and prepares his bedroll in a moment.
The old god is panicking on the inside but he's outwardly looking confused. "...I wasn't aware he was that thoroughly exhausted."
"He's not. It's his curse." Hesper picks up her brother's body, which appears limp and lifeless. "He can only be active in the light of day. No light; it's like he's dead. But he's just sleeping."
The Fierce Deity shudders at the thought, but it's quickly replaced by thinly veiled rage. "Who would dare put a curse on a child?"
"The gods of our world." Hesper says it so calmly... and then she looks at him. "They're afraid of what we'd do without them there."
"Well as I recall, they're not here." He growls. "Can this be undone?"
"It took a god to do it, so I'd imagine it'd take a god to undo it." Hesper goes through the routine of putting Sol to bed; arms over his blanket so he'll wake sooner in the morning. "Nothing else I've tried has worked, anyways."
The old god stares after the sleeping child.
"...A god you say..." He whispers, running his hands over Sol's bangs. He takes a knee once more and bows his head toward the young woman. "Is that all there is to it?”
"... It was the king of the gods who did it." The word 'king' is bitter on her tongue. "His word overpowers all others in our world. I know most of you are god slayers, so that might not even matter, but... be careful."
The Fierce Deity hums; already aware such things would come with a price and gently puts the back of his finger on Sol's cheek. The child is cold.
Something is stirred within him. Ancient. Primal.
"I'll find a way."
"I know. I could see you thinking about it as soon as I mentioned gods." Hesper sighs, already cluing in to the fact she can't sway him. Still, she makes him look at her. "I mean it, though. Find your way if you want, but don't be reckless. Please."
The Fierce Deity stills- the storm in his mind clearing as she pulls him from his thoughts. Her hands. They're on him. She's touching him. Willingly.
He backs down to step to her level.
"Yes... As you wish, Jewel." He whispers, unable to deny the look in her eye. His heart is pounding in his chest. What is this feeling?
"Thank you." She nods, checks on Sol one last time, then makes her way around the camp, checking in on the boys and seeing them off to bed.
... She can't believe she did that.
He can't believe she just did that.
He could have touched her back. He could have held her. He could have held her hand. He could have felt her skin and its warmth, its tone, its smooth silk-like quality.
A rare creature- both alluring and captivating. To humble him. To excite him.
He's never felt like a man until this point.
His eyes follow her as she moves through the camp.
This child means the world to her.
He'll protect them for the night.
Hesper looks back at him after a moment- Time does as well.
"Will you be sleeping?" She asks their shared question. She isn't sure if he needs sleep, but it never hurts to ask.
It takes a moment for the deity to register that she was speaking to him. When it hits he looks ashamed of not answering her sooner.
"No." He says. "You may rest for tonight. I have no plans for slumber."
She nods, then says goodnight to Time, returning to her brother's side. Instead of lying on a bedroll, she leans against the tree by his head, just shy of the deity's reach. If she’s sleeping, she’s in no hurry to do so.
The temptation the deity didn't know he'd have to restrain. He steadies himself to look away from her and the child, looking instead to the rest of the group and beyond.
He could do it. He could give in to everything he desires.
But she ran from mere words.
He would never live down pushing her away.  So he sits still. Like a statue.
And behaves himself.
Even if he allows himself to fantasize in the meantime.
Hesper, for her part, glances at him, out of the corner of her eye.
He's really not that bad, she's decided. He's just... not used to people, she thinks. Yeah... not used to people. That made two of them, really.
She looks back into the forest, letting out a quiet sigh. Part of her is nervous. The last time someone took an interest in her, it was… It went bad, to say the least. She doesn't want that again.
But so far he seemed good. ...Overwhelming on the compliments, but good.
Oh gosh, the compliments. How could someone find that much to compliment her on? And not one thing about her power.
Courage.
Of course that's what he liked.
... It was cute, in a way. He's... he's pretty cute.
She'll admit that to herself. She can allow that.
She’s smiling a little when she nods off.
Seeing the faint smile on her face puts the deity a little more at ease. Time explains to the others (as they all tuck themselves in for the night) that they have nothing to fear from the old god and with time, they all turn in for the night as well and sleep peacefully.
Time gives one last glance at the large male before he also puts his head against his bed roll. The deity has seen him grow from boy to man- his old host has done much for him. The main one being his restraint- or rather- his desire to not abuse his power while he was imprisoned.
He will look after all of them. All of them. These young heroes of courage deserve to worry less about their journeys.
But as for Hesper...
He looks back to the child beside her.
The Fierce Deity vows that he will take care of that one, especially.
Hours pass and Hesper wakes with a start, as usual.
Dawn is coming. She checks to ensure she's properly covered, then gets up to check around the camp. She's so into her usual routine she forgets there's now a deity for a moment until she sees him.
"... Oh. Morning."
The Fierce Deity has already checked the perimeter and has returned from his second round. He bows to her. "Good dawn, Jewel."
She huffs in amusement. "You know, I’m not sure how I'm supposed to address you. Do you have a name or title you want us to use?"
Here, his cool confidence falters.
"I am known as the Fierce Deity. A war god. Protector of Termina......Cursed by the goddess to the form of a mask....and.... I have no other name."
"No other... ?" Hesper's eyes show she's frowning. "That's... horrible. I'm sorry to hear that."
The Deity flushes. "Gods of no honor receive none."
Demise is a name the Hylians gave him but he is known as The Demise. Or The Void. Titles are given when they have either fulfilled or gained their intended purpose. In which they are shortly after disposed of in one way or another.
Demise didn't approve of that and sought vengeance.
The deity himself fought back and was cursed.
But he was never meant to be loved. So he has no name. He knows this.
"I have accepted this."
"You have more honor than any god I know." She blurts. She's... surprised by how quickly it comes out. But she keeps going. "You... you deserve a name.”
His head snaps up to meet her head-on. "... I wouldn't dare… presume...."
"What name would you want? If... if you had one." It's not fair, Hesper laments in her heart. He should have one. Screw the regulations. He's done so much, for so long. She can see it on his face. He's earned a name. She'll name him herself if no one else will.
The deity looks to the ground. No one had ever asked him that before. He didn't think it would have been worth considering.
He looks at the boys. They all share the same name. It would be strange to take it for himself.
He frowns, feeling frustrated for not being able to give his queen an adequate answer. "I never gave it much thought. It was never of importance. I don't... I don't know..."
"That's okay." She assures him. "I... you don't have to take it if you don't like it, but... what about Thárros? It's... it's in my mother tongue, but... it means Courage."
"Thárros..." The name rolls off his tongue smoothly.
"Hesper..." He says her name for comparison. Frankly, he finds that her name is much sweeter on his tongue. But the note that the first name was chosen by his queen, in her maiden tongue no less, fills him with an indecipherable warmth. He's never been exposed to this sort of warmth before. He takes ahold of it.
"Thárros." He echoes himself. "You may call me that. If you desire, Jewel."
Her eyes crinkle, glimmering a little, and she nods. "I will. It's a pleasure to meet you, Thárros. And... you can call me Hesper, if you want. But Jewel's fine, too."
Dawn peeks over the horizon, and Hesper steps into the shade. The light makes contact with Sol's arm and a moment later he opens his eyes, once again full of life as he sits up and yawns. 'Morning...'
Wild sits up in another part of camp, going to make breakfast.
Thárros lets it rumble around his brain. It's a nice name. He smiles, smiling wider when Sol awakens. "Good morning, little one."
Time and Warrior both wake up soon after, getting ready for the day as well. They both send him nods of acknowledgement. He returns them with ease.
'Morning, Mister. How'd you sleep?' He yawns again, still not enough sunlight in his system yet. 'Oh! Did Hesper miss the sun today?'
"Yes, Sol, I'm over here." Hesper answers the last part for him.
"Miss the sun?" The Fierce Deity, now known as Thárros, looks over and tilts his head. Strange. But she is of the night.
"I didn't sleep." He responds to the child's earlier question. "I have no need for it."
'Oh, that’s cool. Yeah, Hesper wears so much clothes because she's allergic to the sun. It'll hurt her really bad if it touches her skin, so I always check.' Sol signs his understanding, but it doesn't take too much to decipher Sol processes Hesper's curse as an allergy. 'She’s only not missed it once, though, she's really good about it.'
Something in the old god’s heart breaks. That’s right, they’re both cursed. Forever shunned from either side of the day. How can they remain a family this way?
He nods in understanding, ruffling Sol’s hair in the process. "She must cherish you greatly. It's good that you look after her the way you do."
He'll break her curse too. He swears by this as well.
'Uh huh, we're really close! Even if she can't run around and play tag with Wind and I around camp, she's really good at hide and seek in the forest! She'll find me, sneak under my feet and toss me in the air! It's super fun! ' As the sun keeps rising, he gains more energy and signs faster. 'And we'll sit close during meals and after dinner we'll make up stories if I'm not playing with Wind and she taught me how to use a dagger and sneak and-!'
"Breakfast is ready!"
'Oo, breakfast! I'll be back with a plate for you, sis!' And off he runs.
Hesper laughs. "Ever the energetic one~"
Thárros shakes his head. "Most are at his age."
He then points to his old host, who's too busy trying to give out the food in an organized manner. "He was just as bad, if not worse."
Hesper chuckles. "I believe it. Though I'm willing to bet Sol can be energetic much longer than he ever was."
He hums. "....No. Not quite.  The boy would stay awake for days on end. Never ceasing his quest for justice… I'm afraid Sol could not have done the same. Not with the curse upon him."
"Oh, I almost forgot he was a child hero." Hesper sighs. "I can't stand those... why must they fight so young?"
"Why indeed?" Thárros’ hand flexes over his knee. "I suppose the heroes all have their own curses to bear... It is the same with your Great Ones."
Well, I wouldn’t call them all great. Not when they treat the world as some toy they can toss away when it bores them." The glint in her eyes darkens briefly, then she looks up as her brother starts running back. "... Don’t tell Sol I said that."
The deity nods, even further fascinated by the woman next to him.
"I am not allowed to call The Great Ones anything but." He murmurs. "But it appears we aren't as different as I originally thought."
"Is that so? I suppose I should be nicer to them, but... well, I'm only nice to the gods I respect. Outside my family, that's just you." Hesper smiles as Sol reaches them, offering food. "Oh, I see you have three plates. You got one for Thárros too?"
Sol makes the connection quickly and nods, offering the deity a plate. He does not question the name.
Thárros subtly smiles and eases the weight off of the little one. "Thank you."
The deity begins to eat the strange meal. He's never had someone cook for him before either. He wasn't entirely sure he needed to eat. But the smell was kind and the other took no heed in questioning the methods behind it.
He takes a bite.
'You're welcome!' Sol plops down, separating the best slice of meat from the rest of his meal and eating the rest. Notably, Hesper does the same.
Naturally, the deity notices this, but he doesn't understand. There's many customs he hasn't needed to learn and so he has no reason to believe that it's anything strange to do. Not to mention they grew up with separate Great Ones to dictate the manner of conduct.
He makes no comment on it and simply eats like he's seen his old host do.
They both finish except for that one piece, and Sol turns to get Hesper's plate, sliding her remaining portion onto his. He walks over to the fire and scrapes them both in, signing 'For Mama.'
"... Nyx and Thárros." Hesper murmurs quietly.
Sol goes about collecting plates and helping them get clean while Hesper starts packing up.
That takes him by surprise.
An offering?
For him, no less.
If it was for their mother, he would understand more but for him? He's a lesser god. An ant of a divine being. He's no better than they are. Why would they offer something to him?
They pack up relatively quickly and make their way through the forest once more. He stays close to the back of the group, keeping quiet to not disturb the others as much as he can avoid. It appears Hesper is of the same train of thought, although she still isn’t quite sure what to make of him.
Hours turn to days turn to weeks turn to months. They are no better off finding the cure to their problem than he is finding the cure to the curses of the divine ones within the group.
The lack of progress is maddening. Thárros, as he is slowly beginning to grow accustomed to being called, has always considered himself a man of action and of results. To have nowhere to begin and no direction to follow is not in his nature.
However, that does not stop him from doting on Hesper whenever he has the time. And should the boys permit it, Sol takes it upon himself to use his body as his personal climbing gym. It warms Thárros’ heart that the boy is so welcoming of his presence. Link as a child was curious and desperate at best, but still wary.
It is a moment where he finds himself alone on patrol that he feels something shift in the air. He instantly puts his hand on the hilt of his blade. It is the middle of the day and he is in a clearing. Only someone foolish enough to not know who he is would threaten him here.
"... You're Thárros, yes? My sister speaks fondly of you."
The man spins on his heel, coming face to face with a woman he has never seen before but his confidence is shaken. A Great One. Her power is beyond his own. She stands as the dawning sun. Warm and giving, hopeful to a fault but dim. She does not stand in the direct light but she glows in the way a divine being can. He knows not who she is but respect has always been given until taken away.
His battle mask comes on.
He nods to her, bowing for good measure. "I am quite fond of her as well. May I ask of your name, Great One?"
"Yes, I can see it." Her smile is warm towards him, much like Hesper's. “I am called Hemera, goddess of the dawn and giver of days. Your loyalty to my sister is clear... You even wish to break the curse on her, from what I hear. I believe I can help with that."
Thárros' attention snaps to her. He takes a step closer despite his better judgment. "How?"
"I have crafted a bracelet for her... with it, she can walk in whichever light she wishes." She produces the item, offering it to him. "All it needs now is the touch of a deity from this world to be finished. I trust you wouldn't mind?"
He drops to take a knee. "It would be my greatest honor.”
Hemera is pleased. "Yes... you two are indeed a good match, just as I thought. May you live long lives together."
He nods, tenderly biting his lip from the inside. He cannot show weakness. He cannot fail.
It's never been this easy before. Truly there isn't any other catch to this.
Hemera presses the bracelet into his hand with a nod and a smile. It gains a shimmer to it; so quick it almost didn't seem real.
"I'll leave you to it, then." She stands and turns to leave. "... Thank you, Thárros. To you and your boys; for taking care of them when we can't."
He looks down into his palm and tucks the bracelet into his chest. Should he push his luck?
"And the boy?" He asks tentatively. "The child is cursed as well… Is that your domain? Can you help?"
Hemera looks sad at that. "I would help Sol if I could, but... we are both at the mercy of night. I'm afraid I can't help him."
Thárros stands. "...Is there a Great One who could?"
He refuses to only have one solution. He had promised Hesper to help her little brother. He has to push a bit further to make headway on his vows.
Hemera thinks about it. "... My father might. Erebus, the darkness itself. But... he has no love for either of them. He will not give you a solution as freely."
He nods; body rigid with pure determination. "I am willing to pay any price for either of them."
"Careful what you vow, Thárros." Hemera warns. "I have no doubt he'll use it against you if he can. ... Good luck on your quest. I hope you can free him."
His grip on the bracelet tightens. "I'm well aware."
He sees her off and looks back to the token in his hands.
He knows the Great One would rather have him sacrifice himself. But he was already imprisoned once. Worse case scenario he must cease to exist.
For Hesper?
He'd take that plunge.
His world has long grown out of a use for him and the Great Ones above him care not for his fate.
He'd do anything.
Thárros returns to camp quickly. He finds Hesper relatively quickly. She had fallen asleep in the shade of a great oak, a rare break she has given herself. He kneels beside her and regrettably shakes her shoulder gently. She rests so few and far between… but this, he feels, is beyond a moment of reprieve.
Hesper's eyes open and she stretches, grunting.
Not her most comfortable sleep, but better than none at all.
"Good dawn, Thárros." She’s started keying in when he's around, but she still blinks twice when she realizes he's closer than she thought. "... Did something happen?"
He bows toward her again. "I've had a visitor, Jewel."
He keeps his head low, waiting for her reaction. "A Great One by the name of Hemera."
"Hemera was here?" There’s a lightness to her tone; delight at hearing about her sister. "I didn't think she could get here. How is she? Just checking in?"
He smiles at her tone. There's trust there. He visibly relaxes. "Yes. She brought a gift."
"A gift?" Hesper chuckles. "For you or Sol?"
"For you." He whispers, bringing the bracelet into the light.
She pauses, not expecting that.
"... For me?" She reaches out, fingers just grazing the bracelet before she draws them back with a gasp. "What- what kind of magic is that? It's so warm."
"A protection." He urges her to take it. "From the light, Jewel."
He gulps, beginning to second-guess himself. The feelings he's never experienced until he met this woman scare him. "It cures your curse."
She looks at him. In disbelief. In shock. But then the stars in her eyes start to shimmer with hope.
Carefully, she takes the bracelet and puts it on. As it clicks around her wrist, it shimmers again, and she can feel the warmth spread through her whole body.
"... I can't believe it." She says softly. "After all this time... I can really..." She looks up from the bracelet, pulling down her mask just as the tears fall. "Thank you."
He panics and reaches to wipe her tears as gently as he can. "Why? Why thank me so? I have yet to help the little one."
Not to mention he can't really take credit for this. If anything, it means they would have gotten help sooner but no one cared enough to offer it. Even those that could.
But she seems overjoyed, so he won't ruin it for her.
"Yes, but you brought my hope back. I was certain-" She decides not to finish that, reaching forward and hugging him tight without a care in the world. "Thank you, Thárros. For caring."
Thárros shivers when she says his name. It's a power she has over him. It's exciting yet humbling.
He gulps, wrapping his arms around her as well. "I will help the child. Thank me not, yet. My work isn't finished."
But he tucks his nose into her hair. "However, I'm glad that you are taken care of."
"One thing down." Hesper exhales in agreement, relaxing against him. He's so warm... She feels safe like this.
Wild coughs, and it gets Hesper's attention. "Uh... good morning? Have a nice nap?"
Hesper goes pink and attempts to slowly pull out of the hug, despite a part of her screaming to just shadow away. "... Good afternoon, Wild."
Thárros doesn't let her go. If anything, he holds on tighter. He calls the young hero his affection-given name. "Good afternoon, Cub."
He turns his head to look at the young man. "Has the meal been prepared?"
"Working on it." The young man replies.
... Hesper is fine. This is comfortable. She's not-
Oh, who is she kidding, her growing appreciation and attraction are so obvious right now! Still, she doesn't move. In fact, she indulges herself and tucks her head in the crook of his neck. If he insists on keeping her here, she'll just get more comfortable.
Thárros nods towards Wild, turning his attention back to the woman in his arms. He holds her close, tucking her against him. He dare not ask for more from her.
He tenderly trails his fingers through her hair. But words fail him.
She tilts her head into his touch, trying to encourage him to continue.
This is nice. She likes this, earlier embarrassment aside. Sol sits up now that the rain clouds have passed, yawning with eyes half open. 'No... wanna go back to sleep...'
Hesper chuckles. "Afternoon, Sol. Did you enjoy your nap as well?"
'Hello. Sleep was ok...' He turns, blinking blearily. '... Your hood is off... Hair pretty. You like it short?'
"Easy to manage, I suppose."
Sol nods slowly, the gears in his brain turning slowly. '... Wait... hood off... no sunburn?'
Hesper shows him her bracelet. "Magic sunblock."
'Magic... sunblock? So you can...' It hits and he perks up. 'You can play tag?'
"Yes." Hesper snorts as Sol stumbles out of bed, running to tackle Wind and get a game started.
The deity chuckles, brushing Hesper's hair away from her face. "How do you feel, Jewel?"
"... Warm." She smiles. "The kind of warmth night can't replicate... it's nice."
"Ack- Sol, what- ... WHAT?!" Wind's shout catches the attention of several other Links, most of them confused and unimpressed. "Guys, Hesper can be in the sun!"
Wild looks up from his pot, blinking, then it clicks that Hesper and Thárros are in the sun and he mouths 'oh'.
The fierce deity smiles, grinning even. But instead of letting the others see it, he hides his face in the crook of her neck. "I'm glad."
He pulls away, teasing a kiss to her cheek. "You shouldn't need to hide from now on."
She giggles, even as her cheeks turn pink. "Aw, but sneaking around is fun!"
The rest of the camp is thrown for a loop; especially Time.
"It's only fun when it's voluntary." He whispers. "I feel as if I'm finally seeing you for the first time."
He pulls back, looking her over now that she can have her face out without any concern. He hums quietly, ignoring the other boys. "Typically the sun would overpower the light of the stars… but dare I say you appear even more bedazzled than usual, Darling."
She flusters more, attempting to pull her mask up. "How? I haven't done anything-"
He stops her, poking her nose with his. "Don't. I'm not done admiring you yet, Jewel."
"F... fine." She accepts her fate, embarrassing as it is. "If you insist..."
Warrior coughs from the sidelines. "I didn't think he had moves."
Time pales. "Honestly.... neither did I."
'Her stars are pretty, so it makes sense he wants to watch them.' Sol grins.
"Stars?" Wind blinks.
'Yeah, Hesper has stars in her eyes!'
"Oh, like how you have the sun-shaped birthmark."
'I think so? Yeah!'
Thárros takes the moment to study her. He finds it fascinating. Her eyes are full and deep and beautiful. His are flat, plain, off-putting.
He kisses her again, on her forehead, unable to hold himself back. Then he moves to her other cheek and her temple. Then onto the other side.
He kisses the tip of her nose and seemingly moves to her lips but pauses.
"Dearest... I would travel through hells for you..." He whispers. "I merely wish for you to be honored as you deserve. Whether it be with me... or another..."
But he's not too fond of the latter idea.
"... You act as if I'd choose someone else." The idea that he even considers that... annoys her. "I've let you this close, haven't I? Isn't it obvious by now, Thárros?"
His grip on her tightens as he goes completely rigid. His jaw clenches and he gulps. "...I'm afraid I am unworthy. For you... your name... your legacy...your family..."
He closes his eyes, brushing his nose against hers, taking her presence in. "I... am a selfish man. But I cannot fault you, should you choose another."
Hesper huffs, warm breath fanning over his face. "Seriously?"
She kisses him, right there, in front of the whole camp.
A choked noise comes out of him, clearly taken off guard.
His hands fly upwards, caging her in and holding her closer. One hand on her cheek, the other entangled in her hair.
He gives in to his desires at last.
Hesper makes a point to kiss him for a long moment, both to prove something and because it felt good to kiss him. When she finally draws back, however, it's softly, and she's cradling his face like he's as precious as he likes to say she is. "... I... choose you. Understand? No one else, Thárros. I love you."
He keeps her close though- not allowing her to be too far away from possibly being kissed again. Thárros gulps and nods. "I have already chosen you… My Love."
The frustration mixed with her look of adoration slips away, and she huffs in amusement. "Good. Glad we're on the same page."
"... Lunch is ready." Wild hesitantly breaks the moment, the first to find his voice in the shocked silence of... everyone.
The one… previously known as The Fierce Deity was overjoyed for the longest time. He was no longer bothered by their lack of progress. To see the Jewel of the Sixteen Realms laugh and play in the sun as she’s always yearned warmed his heart. It seemed as if there was a hole that was filled from that point on, both in Hesper and in Sol.
And to finally kiss her.
It only solidified his determination to help where he was needed. Surely, there would still be battles to fight and a war to win, but this purpose had a higher meaning now.
If he had to lay his existence on the line for the sake of one little boy, he would do so without a second thought. While he would miss his Jewel, and he knew now, that it would pain her for him to leave. If it was called for, he would give. And give and give. She deserved to live happily. She was robbed of the light and of the pleasures of day. And as a consequence, she was robbed of her brother and his childhood.
And her brother deserved to have his big sister by his side to protect him- not to watch him from a distance where she cannot go. Sol should know the wonders of the night and beauty of the stars. It is the realm of his mother and his sister. The darkened skies are a peace to mankind. He should know those as well.
A family must be whole.
He says none of this to Hesper, for fear she should convince him otherwise. But he has never broken a vow before, nor does he plan to begin to do so.
It is once again, when he is alone on patrol that another Great One from the other realm visits him. This time, however, the world shifts around him and Thárros is enveloped in darkness. He sees no body either in front of him or around him.
He need not introduce himself. The darkness speaks to cut to the chase. "Hemera says you wish to break a curse. That requires a test, does it not? Sure you can wield the sword and ‘protect’... but I know your kind. Savage. Rough. Beastly. Prove yourself capable of restraint and maybe I'll help the child."
“Erebus.” The Fierce Deity bows in the darkness. A Great One of the highest regard should be treated as such, no matter how savage he considers them to be. The Great One gives him no such respect in return.
"Do not move from where you stand, boy. What you are going to see has already transpired. Try to help her-" The omnipresent form before Thárros grins wickedly, a smile that promises pain.  "And I will send you back to where you came from in failure."
Thárros growls, hate and wrath already burning in his stomach.
The Great One laughs. "This would be interesting to watch. Begin."
The darkness shifts, forming a room. A man stands before him, holding a wailing baby. It's- her arm has been touched by sunlight, smoke curling into the air from the contact. Hesper turns into the man's shadow, melting away and into a darkened corner of the house, still crying. The man gasps.
"What the- what kind of demon are you?!" The man grabs a knife, face twisted in disgust as he starts towards her. "Nevermind that! Go back to wherever you came from, you little devil!"
The man swings towards Hesper and-
The scene changes.
The once Fierce Deity tenses considerably, but makes no move.
She's older now. A man sits with her, a weaker demigod, holding the arm burnt in her childhood and examining the scars it left behind.
"It never healed?"
"Not really." She says softly, pulling her arm back. "That's why I wear the cloak... to protect me from the sun. Until I find something else, at least."
The man nods, something glinting in his eyes. Something dark. "So... it really can kill you."
She doesn't see it, standing from the table. "Yes. That's why I visit at night... I really should go, Lityerses. Hemera is coming soon."
Something crashes to the floor. A mirror, sending shards everywhere.
"Lit?! Are you alri-"
"Hemera." 'Lit' grasps the edge of a curtain. "Is already here."
He rips the curtain down, sunlight flooding the room and reflecting off of all the shards. Hesper screams in pain, retreating to a corner and hiding behind her cloak. "Lit, what are you doing?!"
"I'm sick of you leaving." He pulls down another curtain and another, ignoring her cries for him to stop. "I'm starting to wonder if you even love me."
"I do! Lit, please-!"
"That's not good enough." He pulls down the last curtain, looking at the cloak wrapped so tight he can only see the shape of her. "I don't want you to leave ever again. You're mine, Hesper. Only mine."
Then he took the curtains and left.
Leaving her to sob.
Thárros can feel the need to conjure his sword bubble under the surface of his skin. He studies the face of the man intently, but makes no move from his spot.
The memories with Lit continue. There’s days worth. Months worth. Years worth. Every time he appears through the door, Thárros has to remind himself there's an end to this. Somewhere, eventually, this ends. He stops screaming at her. He stops abusing her. He stops demanding things he has no right to demand. She stops crying.
It takes another year’s worth of memories before he hears a second man. Not Lit. The small form in the corner shifts.
"... Don't." She hisses to the second man. "Don't eat, don't drink. It's a trick."
She flinches as Lit kicks the door, but she keeps going. "He intends to slow you so you can't beat him."
"Beat him in what?" The man replies.
"A harvesting contest!"
"SHUT UP!" A harsher kick, and she goes quiet again. But the man stands.
"Who is she?"
"A foolish woman who can't keep her mouth shut!" Lit throws open the door, intent on getting her, but the second man pulls him back outside.
"You can deal with her after you beat me."
Lit laughs. "Alright, fine! I've never been beat before, I won't start now!"
Thárros felt great satisfaction when Hercules took his head off.
He watched on as the scenes went by faster; near hits, near kills, threats, all while she gained more scars and better equipment to deal with the sun.
Then she was at a camp. A camp full of demigods. She watched them at night, through the shadows of the woods. She protected them, kept the monsters in line.
And she was utterly alone.
They were frightened of her, of her power. They didn't even know her name. They gave her no thanks. No offering.
Did they even know what she did for them?
Even the children of her brother, Hypnos, avoided her.
... And she protected them anyway.
Tharros was glad that he had picked up from the mortals on how to control their emotions. Something he didn't think he had the discipline to learn.
He had gleaned bits and pieces of her past from their conversations, and from what the others would say and from what Sol would say but he never imagined it so vividly.
It was maddening. Blood boiling.
The only thing he could focus on was how he would have changed it all. How he would have made them worship her, how he would have protected her- treated her like the goddess she is. She would have never wanted for anything or would have worked a day in her life.
FD bit his tongue on multiple occasions. The slight metallic tang in his mouth wasn't enough to deter him from calming down. But it did keep him in place. It kept him from moving. It kept him from going to and destroying them all.
He had clenched his fists so hard that he was sure that his nails had pierced his skin.
Hesper would no doubt question him about it later.
But this is for her brother. Her kin. The one she loved so dearly.
The only other to love her as completely as he did.
It was due.
He would not compromise himself or the child.
He would. Not. Move.
"... Hmph." The Great One huffed, breath ruffling his hair. "I commend you, boy. All that pain to your beloved, and still you refuse to move."
Erebus pauses, watching as a black blood throws Hesper to the ground, driving its weapon through her shoulder. The day Thárros first saw her.
Erebus laughs.
"I fail to see what you do in that pitiful wretch, but I will admit, your loyalty is quite amusing."
Instead of feeling more rage at the scene before him, he calms. He is reminded of what he saw in her, why he fell so hard for her.
He’s reminded why he's here.
He ignores the Great One's sting to her. He takes a breath. "It is I who sees it. You need not concern yourself with it. All I endure is so that you keep your end of the bargain."
"... Enough." Erebus scoffs, and it all ends. "You know the rest of it, so I won't bother making you relive it. Your point is made, and your trial passed. As agreed, I will undo what has been done to the boy."
The Fierce Deity only tenses up more, afraid of ruining this. He nods and bows once more (despite his distaste for the Great One in front of him) for good measure. "My thanks."
"Yes yes, be on your way." Erebus grunts, waving him off into the familiar shadows of Hylian forest. It appears that hours have passed since he has left the group. Night has recently fallen. The last simmers of the sunlight are barely holding onto the horizon. As Thárros walks, the Great One speaks one last time. "... I'm impressed, boy. No god here would do as you have this day. Tell me, who is it that has passed my trial?"
... He's asking for his name?
"I am the Protector of Termina." He settles for a neutral title. "But I am called... Thárros by the daughter night."
"Thárros..." A laugh bubbles out of the primordial being. "Yes, courage indeed... So you will be known by me, Thárros the Protector."
Something alights within him with that. A new purpose. A god with a name.
A god worth honoring.
He bows once more in respect.
Then he turns to leave.
Erebus' presence leaves him and back towards camp Hesper releases a startled yelp.
"Ah! Oh my gods- Sol, you're awake! I- I'm sorry, I'm sorry, yes I know it's late-"
Thárros starts running to the camp.
He stops by the edge, watching Sol sign as quickly as he can, both in confusion and fascination. The young child keeps poking and checking his skin- as if he's expecting to start burning like his sister does.
Relief? Love? Acceptance? He doesn’t know what emotion explodes within him. Whatever it is causes tears to roll down his cheeks and he drops to his knees.
He did it.
He actually did it.
Both siblings turn to him at the sound of his collapse and run to him.
"Thárros? What happened? Are you alright?" Hesper asks as Sol reaches up and wipes his tears away with warm, tiny hands.
Words fail him.
He leans down for Sol to reach better and kisses the boy on the forehead. "Enjoy your blessings, child."
He runs his hand over his hair before turning and picks Hesper up, spinning her around in circles. He peppers her face in all the kisses he can before he dips her, kissing her soundly.
When he pulls back, leaving her dizzy and breathless, he finally finds it in himself to speak coherently. "I told you I'd do it."
"... Oh my gods." Her eyes widen, sparkling as she looks from Sol to him again. "You- oh my gods!"
She laughs and pulls him in for another kiss. Sol has no idea what's happening but he runs around grinning.
He kisses her back happily.
No one else knows what's happening. They're still wondering why Sol hasn't fallen asleep yet, or rather, why he woke up.
Thárros pulls away first, hooking Hesper's legs around his waist. "Be my woman… Please..."
Hesper laughs again as she holds his shoulders to steady herself. "I thought I already was."
"Officially..." He whispers. "I believe Sol mentioned an apple is typically involved."
Hesper went pink, words lost as her lips parted. Slowly though, she smiles, stars warm with light. "... Yes. I'd love to, Thárros."
He smiles back and rests his forehead against hers. "Then it's decided then."
He steals a kiss, running his hands through her hair. "You will want for nothing, I swear by it."
Hesper giggles, brushing white locks from his face. "Of course not. I already have all I could need."
"I would believe a roof is in order, first." Thárros teases, feeling overjoyed and boyish and whole.
"Stay with me." He whispers. "You and the boy."
They could all be together. He would protect them all. His woman, the child-....
Could they start a family? He doesn't want to get his hopes up. But the thought of little ones running around, excites him now that there's little for him to fear.
'Yeah!' Sol somehow wiggles his way between them both. 'I wanna stay with Thárros!'
"Well, if we're all in agreement." Hesper laughs, ruffling Sol's hair along with Thárros'.
Sol chuckles, letting her do as she pleases.
This is it. He's going to do everything in his power. If anything would touch a single hair on their heads... He would have to be personally brought into hell itself for him to cease the rains of fire.
The name placed upon him is Thárros. His old title means nothing now. He is no longer the honorless Fierce Deity but rather Thárros the Protector. He is alight with a new purpose and will remain with his name until his purpose is completed.
He will always have his purpose, for now and forever.
"No one is going anywhere then. You're safe."

(aro ask)
I guess I'd just like to hear about other people's experiences, and what it feels like for them, to get a point of reference for my own feelings.
Feel free to ignore this if not, but if you're cool with giving more specific advice: My partner is allo, and I worry that it's selfish of me to want to be with them because our relationship makes me happy as it is now, but we have different wants and ideas about what relationships mean long term. I can't imagine any relationship lasting forever for me, while that seems like something they very much do want. I know I need to talk to them about this, more than we already have, but I guess I don't know how to have that conversation without it feeling like I'm telling them I don't want or care about them.
hello anon,
I am going to let you, my beautiful aro sibling, in one some hot secret sauce: what you are describing is not an aro-exclusive conundrum.
I mean, sure, your doubts about the possibility of a long-term relationship are influenced by you being aro, for sure. who you are matters. but the actual problem here is not that you are aromantic, it's that you and someone you care about have different ideas about the potential longevity of your relationship.
(or you might, anyway. you said it seems like your partner wants forever, but do you know? they might not be thinking past last month. you're right, you do need to talk about that more.)
listen: people are in relationships that aren't forever all the time. if you think about it, relationships can actually only end in two ways: you break up or one of you dies. I think, statistically, a lot more relationships probably end in breakups than death. certainly that has to be the case in our heathen divorce-loving late marriage modern society, right? and that's fine. a relationship isn't a failure just because you didn't die in bed together like those old guys from Titanic; it can be beautiful and fulfilling and meaningful and important without being forever.
the point being that it's not selfish to date someone without the intent of dying together at the tender age of 103. but you guys do absolutely need to acknowledge that you might have very different ideas about what the future of your relationship and have the hard and honest convos that will help you figure out how to align those visions with your reality in a way that is, hopefully, not destructive to either of you.
as always I am gesturing to my pinned FAQ and specifically the relationship advice "talk about it or break up."

Rook: stop it
Sugarboo: it would make me slow down
Sunflower: cuz you were hiding and they wanted to find you
Casper monotone: I have no clue why they would call someone I do not
Rook: What’s up with the monotone Casper?
Sunflower and Sugarboo:*Chuckles*
Casper: I do not know why the psychopath decided to do this I do not want to comment further
Sugarboo: Are you feeling okay Casper?
Casper monotone: I am feeling great there is no one behind me
Sugarboo: if I’m running away and I’m hiding I’m bound to either slow down or the serial killer can essentially just pinpoint my location
Rook telling the answer: The answer is to listen to the sound of bell ringing so he can locate the victim congratulations sunflower and Sugarboo you guys get one point
Sunflower: Yay!
Sugarboo: Yay sunflower
Rook: good job you two
Sugarboo looks worried: I’m actually worried about Casper
Rook shrugs their shoulders: it’s alright they’ll die probably
Sunflower and Sugarboo:*Chuckles*
Rook reads the next question: question number two a man wants to kill his own boss, he rushes into the store and there he sees a $5 knife and a $50 knife, he buys the 5 dollar knife and he rushes out why did he pick the 5 dollar knife?
Sunflower: okay I have a answer because with the $50 knife

Casper: Yes I agree with Sunflower everything they said is right but I actually think it’s because he wants to make some food afterwards with the same knife get rid of the evidence
Sugarboo: No no If if you want to make food then wouldn’t you just buy the $50 one?

Sugarboo: Hey he’s sociopath what he call-
Casper: Hydrogen peroxide takes off blood Sunflower I don’t know how you don’t know this
Sunflower chuckles:Right
Sugarboo has a dark look on their face: If I want to kill someone for the reason being I hate that person my number one instinct is to make it as miserable as possible
Sunflower: Omg
Rook: Omg
Sugarboo: If I’m going to actually murder someone out of pure hatred I might as well make it living hell for the other person right am-am I the only one thinking that way?
Sunflower, Rook and Casper: uh yes
Sunflower and Casper chuckles
Sugarboo: I don’t know
Rook reads the answer: okay so the answer is to kill the boss more painfully with the dull knife
Sugarboo: Oh see I told you,you want to make it miserable
Rook looks unsure: I don’t know if i want to give them the point
Casper and sunflower chuckles
Rook reads the next question: A man who owns a business goes bankrupt, so he started to work somewhere else. The man hides this fact from his wife. one day, she finds out but acts as if she doesn’t know for his own sake. But soon the husband finds out, and once he does, he locks her in the house and burns the house down, why?
Casper: Typical reaction
Sunflower chuckles: hahaha
Sugarboo: okay so he doesn’t have that much money anymore a-and so he was working really hard and she pretended to not know and when the husband found out, why she essentially didn’t help in the financial difficulty, out of pure spite, I would burn someone.
Rook: wait, why did it turn from “husband” to “I” would?
Sugarboo looks nervous: Uh…Uh…😅
Rook,Sunflower and Casper:*Laughs*
Sugarboo: the husband… would… have the… incentive..to burn the wife
Rook: Fair *Looks at Casper* what about you Casper?
Casper: Why not? It’s fun
Sugarboo agrees: I can agree with that. It is!
Casper: It’s just delightful knowing that you have some power over someone in your life.
Rook: okay.. alright Sunflower?
Sunflower thinks: I was thinking maybe for insurance or maybe, like the new job was an illegal job?
Rook chuckles: thank you for the normal answer. Appreciate it
Sugarboo:🤣🤣
Casper:🤣🤣
Rook reads the answer: the answer is basically… A women who’s okay with not being a CEO’s wife is not worth keeping
Casper: Oh…
Sugarboo looks confused: That’s the answer?
Sunflower: WHAT?
Rook: Both of you have proven that maybe is not the worst answer?
Sugarboo: pfff-
Casper: Uh-
Rook: No- No one gets a point
Casper: Okay, your face
Rook looks at both Casper and Sugarboo: But both of you need help.
Sugarboo looks confused: Wait, me?
Rook pulls sunflower close to them: Sunflower, get over here. Get away from those people.
Sugarboo looks confused: Why me???
Rook reads the next question: Alright, this one is a bit gross, but hear me out. A paralyzed woman was found dead, in pieces. The killer was suspected to be her little sister who nursed the woman. When they pieced the woman’s body together, 20% of it was missing. It turns out that three little sister ate the woman a little bit every day, why did she eat her?
Sugarboo: Okay, my initial gut instinct is just telling me straight up. She just wanted the older sister to be part of her.
Sunflower: that’s so morphed…
Sugarboo: okay why would you ever eat someone else other than being delicious?
The rest looks at Sugarboo with blank stares
Sugarboo looks nervous: A-am- am I the weird one here? Why am I getting so many blank stares?
Rook chuckles: I don’t know who you’re going for? hahaha
Casper: Hey! you’re the one that asked the not safe for work question!
Rook looks at Sunflower: Sunflower, what’s your answer?
Sunflower looks unsure: so she ate her, and we know this for sure… why the heck WOULD ANYONE EAT SOMEONE?!, What?!
Casper: Vitamin deficiency
Sugarboo: Oh! The- there’s another reason. There you go
Rook: Stop. agreeing with them!
Casper: See, I like Sugarboo
Sugarboo: I like you too! 😁
Rook: ugh!
Rook reads the answer: Okay, so the answer is… to keep a little bit with her every day
Sugarboo: oh, so it was the yandere root..
Rook: okay, so Sugarboo you did get it right. I just didn’t like the fact that you got it right in two seconds.
Sunflower: ehemmmmm
The rest: *Laughs*
Rook looks at Sugarboo; Sugarboo listen, uh… thanks for coming on board.. I think this is where we have to say goodbye…
Casper: I don’t know i like Sugarboo, they kinda thinks like me
Rook: Kinda? Casper, kinda??
Rook reads the next question: A family- Mom, dad and son were extremely close. The neighborhood knew them as a close knit family who loved each other. As the son grew, he started to go to elementary school. But he got bullied because his parents still brought him to school everyday. Soon his parents started killing children from the school every couple of months…
Casper: Good!
Rook: Why?
Casper: What do you mean why? Bulking children get killed and I agree with that justice.
Rook looks at sunflower for an answer: Sunflower why?
Sunflower: But they’re children!
Casper sarcastic: oh no
Sunflower thinks: my initial thoughts was they came to the school with the child so that they can recognize who the bullies are. And that’s why they killed the bullies, right? Yeah… th-that’s it. There’s no more.
Rook: wow, what a normal, what a basic answer
Sugarboo: hahaha, there’s Casper and then Mr and then sunflower
Casper: Have you never bullied someone Sunflower? You don’t bully them with their parents there or any authority figure
Sugarboo: No, the child can still tattletale who they are.
Casper: No, I’m pretty sure the kid is killing them!
Sugarboo; oh, the kid is killing them…
Sunflower: oh, so the kid is killing them! And the parents were kinda taking the blame for it
Casper: Yeah!
Rook: Oh~ interesting *Looks at Sugarboo* What do you think Sugarboo?
Sugarboo thinks: if I wanna think about the long term process here… rather than the short term just killing off competition, if I had a kid was getting bullied and the bullying was because… “oh,look, you’re here with your mom and dad”
Sugarboo: Imagine you are a parent of a child and there’s a serial killer going around, would you or would you not just let your kid go off on their own?
Sunflower: Oh… I see
Sugarboo looks at sunflower: Right?
Rook: Oh my god 😰
Sugarboo thinks: So, if everybody is now having their parents drop off, why would he get bullied anymore?
Sunflower: That creeped me out..
Rook: Ding ding ding…
Sunflower:That gives me the chills..
Rook: That’s the answer…
Sunflower: Oh my god..
Rook reads the answer: to make it so that taking kids to school become the norm
Sugarboo looks happy: Yay! *Happy clapping* I got it right!
Rook looks nervous: Um Sugarboo…
Sugarboo: Hi Rook 😊
Rook: Buddy
Sugarboo has a dark look on their face: I know where you live.
The rest: *Laughs*
Rook: O-okay…
Sugarboo: Mind if I visit? 😊
Casper: They don’t mind, go!
Rook nervous: don’t, I do!
Rook: Basically what Sugarboo said was that the parents killed a couple kids, so that no parent would let their children walk people to school, so taking people to school becomes the norm and, Therefore their kid won’t be bullied anymore.
Rook: That’s… such a creepy answer and…I… congratulations Sugarboo another point,G-great-great job
Rook reads the last question: Last question! You, a serial killer was released from prison
Sugarboo: oh yay
Casper: Thank god
The others: *Chuckles
Rook: you get yourself a job, a house and you know what? You got a stable life now. You then paint the floor of your house black. Why?
Casper: Well, cuz it gets cold in the winter and black absorbs light better.
Rook: hahaha
Sugarboo: that is such a scientific answer
Rook: Cleary, yeah that’s the answer
Casper: That’s it
Rook: remember the game we were playing? “Are you a sociopath?”
Casper: No! well, I…
Sugarboo: “are you a scientist?”
Casper: yeah “are you a scientist?” so…
Rook: Sunflower?
Sunflower thinks: My initial thoughts was maybe he missed prison?
The rest: *Laughs*
Sugarboo: Okay Sunflower
Sunflower: Yeah?
Rook: they’re so cute.
Sugarboo pats their head: I want you to keep your innocence
Sunflower looks confused: Thanks?
Sugarboo: like, the level of innocence that you have…
Casper: Unacceptable Sugarboo, they have to be corrupted just like…me
Sunflower: what about you Sugarboo? What do you think the answer is?
Casper: Yeah Sugarboo give us the answer!
Sugarboo thinks: Okay, so if I’m a serial killer..
Sunflower: Okay
Rook: here they go again…
Sugarboo: once you’re a serial killer, how- what do you think the percentage of serial killers actually reform and not be a serial killer?
Casper: All of them. Let all the serial killers out of jail, they don’t deserve it.
Sugarboo: right?
The rest: hahaha
Sugarboo thinks: I can’t think of a pure reason why you would paint the black, but I can only assume that it’s used to prep the room for more killing
Sunflower: Okay, since this game is “are you a sociopath?” Like, there should be more complicated reason, behind it? I don’t think it’s just…
Casper: I think it’s because black is the new color of the season, so by painting the floor b-
Sugarboo: pfff-
Casper: heh shshshshshhut up, shut up, shut up
Casper: So I think that, because painting the floor black will invite more guests into the house, more guests means more bodies to stab
Sugarboo: ehehehe
Rook: um…
Casper: look I think I think my logic is infallible, Rook.
Rook: Clearly it is
Rook reads the answer: the answer is because “dried up blood is less visible in black” so it’s kind of a scientific answer
Sugarboo: Yeah it is
Rook: Okay, well uh Sugarboo I guess you win congratulations I hope you’re happy
Sugarboo: I am happy, oh very happily
Rook: alright Casper, give me the throne
Casper: oh, okay- I shall pass it to you, but I shall remain behind it.
Sugarboo: Oh, don’t worry I’ll gladly take on the challenge
Casper: *Laughs*
Rook: Sunflower?
Sunflower looks at Rook: Yes?
Rook: Come on y-you wanna get a…Grub? Let those two chill here for a second?
Sunflower: I’m kind of afraid what would happen if we leave those two alone
Both of them: *Laughs*
Sugarboo on the throne: Nothing only good things! Why are you doubting us?
Sunflower shrugs their shoulders: I don’t know, you guys might plot something. I have no clue..
Sugarboo looks at Casper: we wouldn’t do anything right Casper?
Casper: Of course
Sugarboo: you have our word 😊

would it be alright if you were to write a fluff(maybe smut?) hancock x reader who has adhd who's just overwhelmed with quests and doesn't know which one to do first? Lol please and thank you:)
Of the People, For the People
Tumblr media
John Hancock x ADHD!GN Reader (FLUFF!!)
CW: reader struggles with their ADHD, John thinks it’s cute, cursing, guilt, restlessness, slight OOC Hancock, slight suggestive themes towards the end, fluff, possible grammatical/spelling errors, briefly proof read
AN: as someone with ADHD this ask actually really hit home. It was half the reason why I could never start games like Fallout and Skyrim in the first place was because there are so many things you can do, the idea alone was overwhelming to me because I knew it’s start and never finish just about everything pushed my way. Then the TV series came o it and all that changed upon the simple acquirement of a hyperfixation on the ghoul and thus my love for fallout was born! 😂 I am still rather new to Fallout games, lore and such so please be gentle if I have gotten anything wrong, I’m still doing my best at learning everything I can to write these well and properly! But I hope I did your ask some justice with this Anon! Hope you all enjoy some more love for our Mayor Hancock. 🥰
Tag-list: @expirednukacola
“Ugh, there’s just too much to doooo” you whined as you plopped down onto his bed in the state house, exhausted and sore all over from setting up not one, not two, but three whole settlements in one day. Of course it wouldn’t be a day out in the commonwealth if you hadn’t run into monstrosities along the way or people along the way to other settlements who needed other things from you. For instance, there was someone who needed saved from thinking they were a synth and returned to their parents, other people who needed help getting their settlements started, people who needed you to kill some super mutants, people who needed you to eliminate some feral ghouls some place else, and after that you couldn’t even remember if you tried. Thank goodness for your Pip-Boy keeping track of these things or else you feared you’d never remember it all. There was just so much that others, especially Preston, were asking of you to do out here that it was beginning to become just a bit too overwhelming to take on all at once. You loved that you could be help for people, so unfortunately you never really paid your own wellbeing any mind until now that it was at such a detriment you could hardly even think straight, much less accurately hit a target or properly even speak to someone without sounding like intelligence was your dump stat. You wanted ever so badly to be that light for people who had seemed to lose hope because it’s what you would want others to do for you if you were in need. You lived and breathed by that golden rule taught to you so long ago. Come to think of it, the only person who you’d done everything for last that you could remember was Hancock, which was actually how you two ended up together.
“Being commander of the Minutemen will do that to ya, sunshine” Hancock teased, leaning against the door frame as he looked at you, tiredly splayed out on his bed in amusement, finding it funny that the commander of such a large militia could be so…well, you. Anyone else would likely be overwhelmed with power to the point of paranoia, or the opposite and let it go to their head and break them of the person they once were, but you were still yourself through everything. He admired the way you wanted to help people, the way you helped the poor and needy in the ways he wished the rich would do, but he could tell it was taking a clear toll on your wellbeing in doing so. He genuinely couldn’t remember the last time you told someone no, or that you flat out just couldn’t help them because he could see that look in your eyes when someone asked you for help. He saw the sympathy, the pain, saw the way you felt so bad knowing that if you didn’t, they likely wouldn’t make it out in the harsh world of the commonwealth. His heart ached for you in that sense, because he remembers a time when he wanted to help everyone in his town that he could, any way he could, hell it was the whole reason he became the mayor of Goodneighbor in the first place. But just like you, he needed someone to make him realize that you can’t do everything, some things just have to play out and fix themselves on their own. “But I think you need to take a break from it for a day or two, give yourself a chance to recoup. You’re working’ yourself to death and I’m startin’ to get worried” he added, walking into the room to join you and he watched you sit up, looking completely defeated and worried at the idea of not helping others or running things for just a day, let alone two but also at the fact that now he was concerned for you. “But they need me, John. If I don’t help them…what would become of them? What kind of leader would I be to just leave them in shambles? I can’t live with the idea of lives lost because of me…” you said with a guilty tone, clearly torn between the idea of helping yourself or helping others, and the sweet innocence of your good natured personality made him smile softly as he closed the door behind him and sat down next to you on his bed.
“Even heros need a vacation, love. Helping people who won’t make it is wonderful, it’s one of the many things I love about you. But people can just as easily be hurt when they’re guided in the wrong direction because the person directing them isn’t taking care of themselves the way they need to. A good leader needs strength sure, but that strength depletes and needs replenished every now and again, and that’s okay” he said, grabbing your hand in his, squeezing it in the hopes to offer you some level of comfort to assure you his words meant no harm, he simply just wanted you to look out for yourself as much as you looked out for others around you. He knew it got through to you when he heard you exhale an audible deep breath you’d been holding in for so long. “I guess, I just…I don’t know. It feels extra difficult for me because I can never stay focused on just one thing. I get started on one project, then someone comes along and I get so side tracked trying to help them that I forget all about where I started! I probably have twenty of these damn missions at least half started before I dropped them for something else entirely. It’s so frustrating and overwhelming because then they all start to pile up, and then I don’t know where to start!” you explained, making him laugh. Who would have ever guessed his big, fearless commander of the Minutemen, partner was easily sidetracked by their ADHD. But he wouldn’t want you any other way. “Yet you completed everything I asked of you with no issue” he pointed out with a smug grin, making you blush at the realization that he noticed that. “Well…yeah. I did it because I liked you and wanted to get closer to you. I was fixated on it because I wanted it to better my chances of being with you, so to me it wasn’t work. It was just doing something that you, someone I care for, asked me to do, so I did it” you admitted bashfully, making him smile at the wholesome reason you gave him. “That’s so fucking cute” Hancock replied as he put his arm around you, pulling you into his side, making you blush even more before covering your face with your hands. “It’s cute until you realize I killed someone for you” you quipped with a grin once you’d moved your hands away to look at him, making him chuckle at your reply. “Made it even” he joked, referring to when Finn tried to haggle you when you first showed up to Goodneighbor. “Fair enough” you responded as you chuckled, but he could still tell that you hadn’t fully come around to the idea yet, something still had its hold on you but at least you started to open up to the idea.
“C’mon, let’s just take the next couple of days to relax. The settlements will be fine, they run pretty well on their own, I’m sure they can survive a day or two without you. Maybe Nick or Codsworth can run ship while you take the time to yourself” he said, making you lean your head against his shoulder as you contemplated it. “Poor Codsworth, I wouldn’t do that to him. He tended to my house for two hundred years despite the absolute state of decay it was in from the explosions, thinking the family would come back any day and it drove him nearly mad. I could only imagine what running settlements would do to him” you said, making him chuckle. “Okay then how ‘bout Nick? He’s traveled with you long enough, he’s a smart guy, I’m sure he could handle it. I’m sure he’d more than understand that you need some time to yourself to get back that good ol’ fighting spirit” he added. “You think so?” You asked skeptically, making him sling his arm around your waist to hold you close and help ease your nerves the best he could. It was times like these that you wished you had the confidence and aloof attitude Hancock had about just about everything. “I know so. Think about it, you set them up, taught them what they know, they already manage pretty well on their own, they got this! Just lay back and relax for a change!” he said, easing your nerves just a little bit more at the idea. For someone who never wanted a leader to be too comfortable, he really wanted you to be, it was strange yet heart warming to see how much he cared about you and wanted to make sure you were taking care of yourself. So you finally gave in, maybe a couple of days to relax and do what you wanted to do didn’t sound bad after all. Maybe you could enjoy a couple of drinks one night, or hell, maybe enjoy just sleeping in a bed two nights in a row for a change, give your body a rest from sleeping on the cold hard ground in a sleeping bag. And not have to worry about all the things floating around in your mind that need done. That sounded like heaven to you once you convinced yourself with Hancock’s help that it could really be useful. “Okay, but if I do, I can’t just lay in bed all day. I literally can’t, I’ll go crazy” you said, making him laugh, knowing the way you can’t sit still for more than a few minutes at a time just on the regular while you’re on the go. “We don’t have to, these couple of days are for what you wanna do sunshine. Though I wouldn’t mind it of course if we spent all of it in bed, but staying in bed all day doesn’t necessarily mean *just* sleeping, ya know” he said, his voice slipping into that characteristic deep, gravelly suggestive tone with a mischievous grin painting his thin, irradiated lips as he pulled you into his side, making you laugh. “John!” You said, seemingly flabbergasted at his reply, but truthfully you hadn’t expected anything less from him. “Oh you know I love it when you yell my name, keep doin’ it sunshine” he said flirtatiously with that ever recognizable smirk painted across his face as he crawled on top of you on the bed, littering your face and neck with kisses through a shared fit of laughter. Maybe a little break wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Last Line Tag Game
Thanks for tagging me @teejaystumbles ! A really nice surprise!! :D I am indeed contemplating writing two Dead Boy Detectives fic right now, but they're both in the very early 'being-outlined-in-my-head' stage, haha. They both revolve around post-s1 Edwin pining for Charles, one where Edwin takes matters into his own hands and one where he decides to have a chat with the Cat King about it. Not sure if they'll ever be written but they're intriguing!
But for the sake of the tag game, here's a lengthy bit from a Dreamling wip I've slowly been chipping away at for a few months!
A scene from Every Little Thing (Working Title)— In which Morpheus is a figure drawing professor who has just been fired from a film production based on his comics, and Hob does part-time figure modeling and is determined befriend the aforementioned professor.
Morpheus picks his class schedules wisely— he runs two first year general figure drawing classes, at 8 a.m. and at noon on Mondays and Thursdays. He helps the uni’s live figure workshop club on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 p.m., and meets his sister for lunch on Wednesdays. All other free time was dedicated for his industry work. That wouldn’t be a concern anymore, would it. By the time Morpheus unlocks the door to the studio, sets his bag down by his desk, and starts fiddling with the ceiling studio lights pointed at the model stand, all of Morpheus’ thoughts have reduced to pure spite. Fine, maybe the big studios don’t want him. They don’t deserve him, then, their loss. His portfolio and repertoire are infamous in the industry, they’ll be crawling back to him in no time. Too bad, maybe he would have started his own production studio and he’ll end up with the next ground-breaking animated film. Maybe— Morpheus’ thoughts are interrupted by a knock at the door. He shakes himself out of it, calling, “Come in.” A glance at his watch tells him it’s only 7:48, perhaps it’s an overeager student here early. It’s only the second week of the semester, they grab every opportunity to prove themselves with a spirited step that Morpheus might be slightly envious of. “Hello, Morpheus Endeles?” Hearing his full name startles Morpheus, and he turns from the lighting settings to the door. “Yes?” The man who steps into view can only be described as radiant. He can’t be much older than Morpheus, not much taller either but wider in the shoulders. His hair is cropped just above his shoulders and he sports a neatly kept beard. Morpheus registers this all first simply because of his profession but— he gets caught on the man’s brilliant smile and deep brown eyes. There’s something there that knocks all thoughts clear out of Morpheus’ head. The stranger smiles warmly, smiles like he already cares. “I’m here to model for the morning and noon figure classes?” The man says. Morpheus clears his throat and steps forward, “Yes, this is the right studio.” He extends a hand, “Robert Gadling, I presume?” The man takes his hand— god, he’s so warm— and shakes it steadily, “Please, call me Hob! All my friends do.”
I'm a sucker for the 'Morpheus catalogues Hob's appearance during their first meeting' trope in most Dreamling human AU fics, I couldn't not do it too :]
Besides this, I've also got a Dreamling Velvet Goldmine-ish AU fic that I want to get done this summer. I'm a very slow and ruminative writer so let's see if I can commit to any of these fics now that I've posted about them lol!
No pressure tags! I have no idea who's been tagged recently so-- lol. @hardly-an-escape @valeriianz @moorishflower @amielot :)

[for @calaisreno's May prompts challenge, because the idea of writing fun tidbits with no expectations or, you know, plot sounds really great 😅]
1: open - open sesame
'Magic?' John asks, only slightly incredulously, as he puts the shopping down on the kitchen table.
'No,' Sherlock replies, holding up one hand, fist closed, so Rosie, perched on her booster seat, can grab it. 'A study in object permanence.'
'Which she already has.'
'She's keen on the sleight of hand,' Sherlock amends dismissively.
John's mouth quirks up fondly, but he pushes it down. 'She's easily impressed.'
'Nonsense. I am very impressive.' He leans down as if to whisper to her, mouth opening on a theatrical gasp. 'What are the magic words, Rosamund?'
John snorts. 'Abra cadabra?'
Sherlock spares him one glance, then makes his Behold My Genius face at Rosie again. He points to his closed fist with his other hand. 'Open… sesame!'
Rosie's shrieking giggle explodes as several red bouncy balls leap out of Sherlock's hand.
'Open sesame?' John asks, curious. 'Isn't that -- what's the word for profiting off somebody else's culture?'
'Appropriative, I believe is the word you're thinking of.'
'Sure, yeah, that. Isn't it that?'
'Depends on who you ask.'
John rolls his eyes. 'Yes, thank you, history is not for the simple, I know. Are you making excuses because you don't know the answer?'
'Absolutely not,' Sherlock says indignantly. 'As far as we know, the phrase is of western origin, penned by a Frenchman telling the story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. He likely made it up.'
'So it's only slightly racist.'
'Quite. In fact--'
He's interrupted by a red ball bonking him on the forehead and a loud 'Yeah!' from one little girl.
'Rosie,' John tries to scold, picking up said ball and holding it out to Sherlock. 'We don't throw things unless invited.' Arguably he's saying it to both of them.
And for good reason. 'Well done, Rosamund,' Sherlock says contradictorily, reaching for what John's holding--
Only to have it disappear into thin air, then reappear from behind Rosie's ear.
Sherlock raises an eyebrow. 'Very good, John.'
John clears his throat, tucks the ball into his pocket, and turns to start on the shopping. 'Yes, well, these hands still have some talents,' he says, hiding his grin.
As you well know, Mr Holmes.

#something is very obviously different about these two compared to my normal images on this blog. i acknowledge this#also the sv model is Really good. and since they always stare straight at the camera anyway… and no one pays attention to the background…#and the only high-quality phantump model i could find was so horribly shiny that its eyes were just white voids#in my defense‚ phantump always just stare straight at you in game#the lighting is different‚ yeah. that's probably the dead giveaway. beyond the background. but like. i'm the only being on the planet who#really likes phantump anyway. i feel like it's a generally forgettable pokémon to most folks#phantump#HELLO this one is a weird one. i have some explaining to do. so when i did this one i didn't know how to edit models really at all#and when i got the models for these‚ the xy models were super shiny. shiny to the point that it made their eyes fuckin invisible#and i decided that since you could barely tell it was phantump‚ i needed a different way to get these images#i remembered that in the SV dlc‚ every time you find a wild phantump‚ it just fucking. stares. at you. and i was like. aha#i kinda remembered because of the test stream that i did. tumblr user alligayytorr (am i getting the right amount of Ys) said#“haha i am getting a sneak peek” when i zoomed the camera in on a phantump. and i remembered that. and i was like. i can utilize this#and ended up using just an in-game screenshot of SV in replacement of the regular content. later on‚ after that#once we got into gen 7 and it became less and less reliable to find models‚ i had to learn how to edit them manually to remove the shine#i am a software dev. not a 3d modeler. this ended up coming down to editing the code of the models directly (which i ended up writing a#script to automate). now‚ today‚ january 22nd (the day of me writing these tags and updating this post)‚ i remembered this post was in the#queue and was not normal. so i went back‚ ran the script on the phantump and trevenant models‚ and unshinified them#then edited these two posts to be normal. i have left the original pictures i took under the cut for reference and as bonuses#because i really enjoy phantump. so that's why those images are there‚ and that's why these tags are here#just for posterity's sake‚ the folks who come here mostly for my commentary‚ i've left the ORIGINAL tags of the post when i initially#made it with the SV pictures up at the top (i wanted to rearrange them‚ but tumblr makes that Very difficult‚ so i left them as-is)#so if these tags are confusing to read i Apologize. but i hope now that you're at the bottom you understand what happened#i'm gonna go edit the trevenant post now

I think I'm going insane. Lately my dreams have been so mundane, it wouldn't be weird if I wasn't just a person that has nightmares 80% of the time, so I now my dreams are so hard to distinguish from reality.
I wouldn't be able tell what was real from what not if it wasn't because last night I went to my doctor's appointment and I was handed new glasses by Harvey just to go back home and find out Laois was cooking something in my backyard.
#to be fair. in my dream i was back at my old house. so the horrors where there still#also i've been dreaming about my dog. but sometimes it's not him. it's other dog trying to replace him. but it's not him. i miss him dearly#but it's... weird. i never actually dream with characters either. something strange is going on#I've been telling my brother i wake up and i have to remember who i am#for the totally normal dreams. it's like my soul is divided and it's living somewhere else for the night#who is the person i am when i dream. because it's not me. it's a whole different live. whole different people around me. I'm going insane#there's such a strange feeling about it. it's familiar? it's comfortable?#which only makes it even more weird. why is a life so different to mine feel so comfortable...#to the point i wake up and i don't remember who i am for at least ten minutes#but then i forget what i had dreamt about. and then i go around my day randomly reminding things. then that's when i realize those memories#were actual dreams#i should write a fanfic about this lmao#it was a nice dream though. i remember vividly i was sitting in one of those chairs thingies that hang in the air?#and i was swinging happily. i think Laios was talking about where he got whatever the fuck he was cooking. i couldn't understand him really.#he wasn't speaking in spanish but it wasn't english either. i think it was a made up gibberish... I'm still baffled by how comfortable i was#i think there were friends around too. maybe a hangout was going on? everything was nice. it reminds me of the times#i would go eat at a friend's house. but things felt a lot nicer. it was like if time had stopped and nothing wrong could ever happen.#and even then. i was still there. which i think that's why i started to feel dizzy in my little swing. i ended up waking up from that.#i still get dizzy remembering it.#welp. I hope i don't lose myself tonight...#I don't actually know what's worse. the nightmares are common. they are familiar. there's comfort in knowing what to expect.#but “good” dreams like that... i end up thinking about them too much. the residual feeling is weirder#and i have to deal with the whole different layer that is.. there's was a fucking anime guy there. kill me. kill me. get him OUT of my brain#I'm not lying when I say I can physically feel Laios rearranging my brain in ways i will not share publicly#kill me.

one beach day during purgatory could fix all the team vs team vs team trust issues but that'd be too good for them the eyeball does not want that and that hurts me </3

#Doodles#SCII#Helix#ZEX#Crackship#Teisel#Meme#I am on a roll with these lol#I knew adding Teisel to my list was only a matter of time#I am a weakwilled individual with one fatal flaw#Anyway (lol)#ZEX really has his work cut out for him with Teisel haha - it's very fortunate he's so determined and enjoys a challenge 'cause otherwise!#Teisel is hard to pin down - I mean Other Than That lol - he's an interesting guy :0#Rough around the edges and a family man ♪ And if I get to draw long hair and big muscles then all the better hehe#And he has a cute nose! He has the bridge of the nose thing that I like so much!! Yes!!#As for the rest of him - hm! You can tell he's a bit desperate for the familiar :'0#So isolated from even himself ah 💔 Hang in there ZEX!#At least he has some fun distractions hehe ♪ New things to learn and consider! is there like a curse you get put under when you decide that you like cold weather better than hot weather to never ever shut the fuck up when someone expresses a different opinion on the subject, or is that just a choice you are all making
#i really don't get it. i don't do this on posts about liking the cold#but every post about liking hot weather is FULL of people like 'ohhh but op have you considered it's easier to warm up than cool down'#as though a) that is true everywhere or b) we've never heard it before#first of all no it's not i will refer you to the years ive spent insomniac in the winter because no matter how i huddled i could not feel m#toes but second of all we fucking KNOW. we Know. we know you feel that way. It's not a secret we are AWARE. WE KNOW#no one's saying you can't like the cold but for fucks sake if you're not gonna say anything helpful what's the point of saying it#red rambles#i know i'm being a bitch this week but also i don't care. it's like fucking clockwork#every single time i reblog one of those posts i just wait for three or four people to tell me about how they 'can't peel off their skin' if#it's too hot. as though the only way to cool down is to take off layers#unfortunately i am not afflicted with whatever curse this is. sorry about your inability to shut up when you're clearly in disagreement tho#for the record i'm still housetrained and i have no intention of expressing this annoyance by going and bothering people who like the cold#you can like the cold if you want to i dont give a shit#but like. Seriously what the fuck is the deal with this shit#do you actually think that 'weh weh but actually the cold is better' is a unique opinion. approximately 50% of the people in any given place#will agree with you#there is absolutely no new complaint you can offer under the sun that will be fresh to anyone hearing it#as we have exhausted literally all of them by the age of like twelve.

someone really should be talking about how difficult it is to plan a wedding - a gay wedding - when both of your families fucking suck
#who is talking about this!!!! let me know#idk i have 0 expectations for my family but they still somehow always manage to let me down which#i was anticipating#and i didn’t think i would care because i have never cared before#but liiiiiike.#i wasn’t expecting to feel sad rofl but my family is so fucking flaky. again i KNOW THIS i know i cannot rely on any of them#it’s annoying when i have given them a year and a half to make plans and i have had so many people tell me they would be there#just to back out or ghost or come up with some excuse#like do you know how expensive weddings are 😭 JUST fucking be honest with me and rsvp no#anyway i was very intentional with the few family members i did invite#and specifically invited people i have a rapport with / had a good (ish lol) relationship with growing up#people i have bent over backwards trying to please!!! and dropping everything to help them out#and they can’t even be bothered to communicate with me lol it’s fine. like. i do feel like it’s internalized homophobia at this point#or maybe they have hated me this entire time which is totally plausible#but they KNOW how much ayesha means to me and knows that no one from her family is coming to our wedding#at the end of the day it’s going to be like. 5 people from my family 1 from ayesha’s (her brother) and like 30-40 friends#which i am so grateful for obviously#i sound like such a brat but it’s also like - watching your family continuously choose drugs/alcohol over showing up for you - lol#AGAIN i’m used to this and expected as much but i’m still feeling bad#just rsvp so i can move on with my life please. stop telling me you’re trying to make it work when we both know you aren’t#i have so much more to say but i’m going to sound crazy even though i knooooow it is homophobia like i Know it#i think there are certain people i will finally go no contact with for good after this#which is a freeing thought but i only invited v few family members to begin with. there’s abt to be no one left lmao#probably for the best#ugh whatever#again i can’t help but feel a certain way when they have done more/traveled further for relatives they hardly know#meanwhile i was forced to spend so much of my life living for these people and for them alone#AAAAAAAA i just want to scream#text
