Flight of Icarus Character List
Lore Part 1 | Part 2
- Eddie Munson: Our boy is 18 years old, lives alone in his dad's house with Wayne checking in on him. By 1984, he's the lead singer and guitarist of Corroded Coffin and the DM for Hellfire. He's known as Freak King at school, and Munson Junior around town, he hates both. His grades are bad, but the only trouble he gets in at school is getting blamed for fights with jocks that he doesn't start or win. He works as a barback at the Hideout where his band plays sometimes. His status as town pariah due to his dad's criminal reputation and being an outcast deeply affects him. He wants nothing more than to escape that image, even if he's trading it for a different image. The story kicks off when he gets a chance to chase a record deal in California and teams up with his dad to get the money to move.
- Al Munson: Eddie’s dad, he comes in and out of Eddie's life. He's been abandoning Eddie alone/with Wayne for long stretches since Eddie was a child. Al's very charismatic and has even made Jim Hopper laugh. He uses that "Munson Magic" to manipulate everyone around him, he's a conman and career criminal. He taught Eddie guitar, but also taught Eddie to jack cars at age 10 and only sees Eddie as his little minion. He comes back to town, claiming he's fresh out of a prison stint in Colorado with a debt he needs to repay, and enlists Eddie into helping him rob a truck carrying drugs from his former boss. He leaves details out of the story that blow up in their faces. In the end, he leaves again when Eddie needs him most.
- Wayne Munson: Eddie’s uncle, factory job guy and the best caregiver as we all predicted. Wayne’s a quiet guy, very emotionally reserved too. Eddie says he’s never even heard Wayne yell, he’s non-confrontational. He doesn’t like Al, says nothing even when Al tries to instigate an argument. He deeply cares for Eddie. Eddie is very stubbornly independent, so used to being on his own because of Al, and Wayne tries to respect his boundaries while also being concerned, as Eddie gets very prickly about it. He tries his best to keep Eddie from getting roped in with Al, but overall he lets Eddie make his own decisions. He seems like he wants to just bundle Eddie in a hug at times, but they're not to that point yet in the book. In the end, Al's scheme gets their house burned down, so Wayne permanently takes Eddie in. He shapes Eddie by telling him he’s not his dad and to stop caring what people think and not to put himself in a box. Some nice tidbits: Wayne has a green thumb, reads Gardener’s Weekly magazine and goes to a bar called the Attic on Fridays.
- Ronnie Ecker: Eddie’s childhood best friend. She lives with her grandma in the trailer park. Her father passed away and her mother is implied mentally unstable. She meets Eddie when they’re 8. She’s described as tall, taller than Eddie since they were kids, always wearing a corduroy hat, and people mistake them for siblings. She’s the first drummer of cc. Ronnie and Eddie formed the band specifically because they had to do the middle school talent show. Then Gareth becomes the drummer when she graduates. She’s also in Hellfire, wants to go to law school and has a full ride scholarship to NYU. She’s sort of implied aro/ace after Eddie tries to kiss her when they’re 13, she says it’s not just Eddie, she doesn’t think she’ll ever have a crush on anyone. Ronnie is perceptive and smart and she teases Eddie a lot but they’re very protective of each other. Eddie gets blackmailed by Principal Higgins into dropping out when he threatens to jeopardize Ronnie's scholarship. Eddie never tells Ronnie this, even when they have a fight about him choosing to end Hellfire because Higgins convinced him his friends would be better off. This causes them to leave off on vague terms when she goes to NYU.
- Dougie Teague: This could possibly be unnamed freak from the show, but there’s an age discrepancy because he’s the same age as Ronnie and Eddie in the books and it says he graduates. So he would have to fail senior year twice along with Eddie to still be in high school in the show as unnamed freak. Dougie is the backup cc guitar player, whereas unnamed freak played bass in the show. Dougie is brash and blurts things out. He lives where Eddie calls the nice side of town and they rehearse in his garage. Dougie’s mom is not fond of Eddie but lets them practice there. Dougie’s dad is an HVAC truck guy.
- Jeff (no last name): Jeff is a sophomore and the bass player for CC, whereas in the show he plays guitar. Jeff comes across as reserved compared to Eddie and Ronnie. He played D&D with his older brothers before joining Hellfire. Eddie says Jeff knows more about bass than him. Jeff is ‘the nice one’ and generally nervous and anxious. He’s reasonable but he looks up to Eddie and buys into what Eddie says about the band getting a deal even if it’s unrealistic. Jeff is awkward around girls, wants to do good in school and he’s afraid of getting in trouble. The owner of the Hideout bar lets the band split a beer and Jeff is nervous the whole time. Also, when Eddie screws up, Jeff is the first to forgive him.
- Gareth (no last name): Gareth takes on the role of Eddie’s first sheep, whereas everyone else are Eddie’s friends, Gareth is like the little kid he’s fond of. Gareth is a freshman, there’s a whole scene of Eddie helping him create a D&D character. He’s hotheaded and a target for bullies. Eddie sticks up for him a couple times, and once, Gareth barrels in shrieking and throwing windmill punches to stop Eddie from getting jumped by Tommy H and crew, which results in Gareth going to the hospital with a fractured wrist.
- Rick Lipton (Reefer Rick): Rick is a very typical laid back stoner character. He's around 35, described as a giant soft guy with big smiling eyes and friendly face, wearing a Smokey the Bear shirt, and not what Eddie expected from a drug dealer. His house is also not what Eddie expected, being pretty clean compared to Eddie's teenage inhabited space. Eddie meets Rick through his dad, who has screwed Rick over in the past and this makes Rick unwilling to be the buyer of what they're going to steal off the drug truck. Eddie however puts on his best "Munson Magic" and convinces Rick. Rick is impressed and calls him Munson Junior, which Eddie hates. He goes back to Rick at the end of the book, needing money and a job. Rick gets him started dealing.
- Elizabeth Munson (maiden name Franklin): Eddie’s mom, he's a certified mama's boy. She doesn't appear in the book, Eddie says she got sick and passed away when he was around 6. She's originally from Memphis, Tennessee, where she met Al and they moved to Hawkins when she was 19, they got married March 12th, 1966. She loved Eddie's dad but Eddie says Al was always leaving her to go off on schemes. She passed her love of music onto Eddie. Her favorite was Chicago blues, Eddie didn't understand why until she passed and he started to feel it in his bones too. Eddie remembers dancing with her to Muddy Waters' "Rollin' Stone" and when the song comes on in the truck while he's doing business with Al, it makes him tear up. He recalls this memory several times, it seems like it’s his happiest memory. He says "When Elizabeth Munson was happy, the whole entire world was happy." His biggest connection to his mom was through her music. Then when Al's scheme goes wrong, the people he screwed over show up and burn down their house in an act of revenge. Eddie almost gets killed trying to save his mom's records, but they burn.
- Paige Warner: Paige is a junior scout at WR Music. She's not described beyond having freckles, chin-length dark hair and dark eyes. She has a younger brother on the Hawkins baseball team. At the Hideout, she sees Eddie's band playing and he chalks up the courage to talk to her. (He's squeaky and blushy, no game) Paige is in town for her grandmother's funeral, she remembers Eddie from the middle school talent show, though she is two years older. She likes his band because they're "real". She returns another night and Eddie (after some bad news that makes him desperate to chase his future) propositions her to get them a record deal. She's insulted, having told Eddie that guys use her for that reason, but they agree to work together. Paige pays for the studio time for cc to record the demo tape. In the meantime, Paige meets Al and Eddie is beside himself the entire time, not wanting her to find out the dirty work they're doing to fund his future. Then, Paige's boss only likes Eddie, and when she delivers this news, Eddie expresses that he doesn't want to ditch his band, but she says this will benefit both of them. So he agrees and it's implied they start hooking up, never making things official. She leaves for California and he's supposed to go later for his audition and stay with her. This doesn't happen, Eddie's heist with Al lands him temporarily in jail, and over a heated phone call, things end between them. It's implied that Paige pays his bail but never speaks to him again.
- Tommy Hayes: It's debatable whether this is supposed to be Tommy H from the show, whether his last name was always Hagan or if that was a fanon thing. Given his proximity to the jocks and being bitter that Steve has changed since dating Nancy, it's supposed to be Tommy H from the show. He's extremely violent in the book, which doesn't track so much with Tommy in the show, who's more of a shit-talker lackey. This Tommy bullies Eddie for being poor, a freak, and the son of a criminal. He bullies the whole Hellfire club and beats Eddie up on two occasions, punches Ronnie (accidentally?) when she tries to protect Gareth, and puts Gareth in the hospital. He faces no repercussions because the Principal is on his side, as Tommy's family is influential and rich.
- Principal Higgins: The principal of Hawkins High. Eddie is justified for wanting to flip him off in the show. Higgins has a ton of favoritism toward the kids from well off influential families, like jocks and preppy students, and always takes their side even when Eddie (and friends) are the ones bruised and beaten. He's a Bible thumper and hates Hellfire and also hates Eddie because he's a Munson, considers him a rotten apple that poisons the bunch. He wants Eddie to drop out to rid the school of the Hellfire club. After the brawl between the jocks and Hellfire, Higgins convinces Eddie that it's his fault his friends are considered freaks and get bullied. He blackmails Eddie into dropping out by threatening to jeopardize Ronnie's scholarship to NYU. Eddie eventually comes to his senses and finds his fire again when everything falls through. He gets re-enrolled in school and turns things around by blackmailing Higgins. At this point, he knows Higgins buys drugs from Reefer Rick, and uses that information to force Higgins to let Hellfire continue and leave him and his friends alone.
- Officer Moore: A Hawkins cop who has it out for Eddie. He's described as having a blond buzz cut, a square jaw, Superman level All-American looks. He has a growing mid-forties beer gut. He pulls Eddie and Ronnie over in Eddie's van, Eddie sasses the shit out of him since apparently he pulls Eddie over a lot trying to find reasons to arrest him, just because he's a Munson. But he has to let them go.
- CJ and Toby: These are two goons that worked with Al under the same boss, Charlie Greene, one of the biggest drug kingpins in Oregon. They are transporting the truck with the drugs that Al enlists Eddie to help him rob. Eddie and Al successfully rob the truck, but CJ and Toby show up to their house days later. While holding Eddie and Al at gunpoint looking for the drugs, It's revealed that Al didn't owe money because he borrowed it, he stole it because he got greedy. Eddie was under the impression that he was saving his dad from enforcers that would come to collect the debt eventually, not helping him steal more from them. Al wasn't in prison like he told Eddie, he was living large as Charlie Greene's right hand man, never sending Eddie a dime. At this point, Eddie and Al have already sold the stolen drugs to Reefer Rick, so Al turns over the 15 grand of money to CJ and Toby. They think it's settled, but CJ decides to set the house on fire too, since Al embarrassed them with the boss. The only reason they don't kill Eddie and Al is because Officer Moore shows up, having been following Eddie. Instead, CJ shoots Officer Moore in the leg and then he and Toby flee. Eddie immediately goes to help the officer (despite hating Moore) while Al is telling Eddie to come on so they can run. Eddie feels like its their fault Moore was shot and won't leave him, Al says he didn't realize Eddie was this much of a fool. Eddie tries to get him to stay because he needs him, but Al leaves him anyway and Eddie is devastated and numb. He's arrested when cops show up.
- Jim Hopper: Hopper brings Eddie a cup of water and talks to him while he's in lockup for the night. He calls Eddie "Junior" but Eddie's too numb at that point to care. He says they know that Eddie tried to help Moore, but he's being held for arson because of the house, until he makes bail. Hopper is really trying to give Eddie a break, knowing he helped Moore, and talks a bit about Eddie's dad. He says something cryptic about knowing Al in school and how every time something went down, Al was usually at the center. Hopper does Eddie a favor and lets him use the phone in his office, where Eddie calls Paige. Hours later, Hopper tells him he made bail and that Wayne is there to get him.
- Chrissy Cunningham: Eddie remembers Chrissy from the talent show. Eddie's dad was supposed to be there, but didn't show up, meanwhile Chrissy is disappointed that her mom did show up. A lot like the show, it's minimal but Chrissy is sweet with troubled undertones. Eddie's surprised she even talks to him, but she's nice and says she'd cheer for him if his dad didn't show. Fast forward to high school, when the jocks are giving Eddie flack, Chrissy tries to get them to stop. Then they try to lie to the principal and say Eddie was bothering Chrissy. Chrissy says it's a lie but Jason quickly silences her.
- Bev: The owner of the Hideout bar. She's a very no nonsense drill sergeant kind of lady. She keeps Eddie humble, calls him Junior despite him asking her not to, always tells him to get a haircut and doesn't like his band at all, though she lets them play there as part of the exchange for Eddie working there. The stage is just some rickety wood that her late husband built. It's implied she had something to do with his death. She's strict and doesn't give anything out for free, only Al is able to charm her out of a free pitcher of beer when he's celebrating Eddie (temporarily) dropping out of school, which stuns Eddie. When Eddie quits the job chasing his California dream, she admits she'll miss their band and that's that.
- Janice: Principal Higgins secretary who equally hates Eddie and favors jocks and preppy students. She wears coke bottle glasses that magnify her eyes and has a fanatical obsession with purple.
- Stan: A junior member of Hellfire who had to sneak around his parents to go to meetings by pretending to be at algebra tutoring, as they consider D&D to be Satanic. When his parents find out, they write a letter to the school, condemning Hellfire club and saying they sent Stan to a church program to cleanse him. Higgins shows Eddie this letter to make him feel guilty and responsible.
-Nicole Summers and Cass Finnigan: These girlies are mentioned in one sentence but I don't know where else to put this info. Eddie implies these are the two other hookups he had before Paige, once in grade ten and once senior year, saying that he could tell they were only doing it for the dare of getting with the freak. Though, he wasn't looking to be anybody's boyfriend. He compares them to Paige, who he feels like genuinely likes him
- Steve Harrington: He doesn't actually appear in the book but his balls get a mention so he's going on the list. The only thing to note is that Steve doesn't approve of any freshman getting beat up, to the point where the jocks do it behind his back and Jason Carver is worried about him finding out. Tommy says Steve doesn't have any balls since dating Nancy Wheeler. Eddie defends Steve's balls, saying Tommy can't talk about someone else having no balls when he gets his kicks beating up freshman.
- Will and Jonathan Byers: At the end of the book, in a record shop, Will and Jonathan walk in. Eddie recognizes Will from his missing posters and recalls the events where Will had a funeral yet somehow was found alive. Jonathan goes to the back for a certain record, and while Will is alone, Eddie watches as a few younger jocks come into the store and start hounding him, calling him zombie boy. Eddie takes up for him, goads the jocks and gets them to take it out on him, takes a baseball to the chest and they leave. Eddie tells Will that Zombie Boy is metal as shit and Jonathan thanks Eddie when he comes back. Eddie offers Jonathan weed and says Jonathan is way too offended by the question for someone with his haircut. This whole interaction solidifies Eddie's new sense of purpose, collecting and protecting sheep.
- Granny Ecker: Ronnie's grandmother. She's not a big part of the story at all but she lives in the trailer park too. She's a wooden spoon wielding grandma character. Eddie calls her Granny too and she worries about Wayne and makes Eddie bring him casseroles and stuff. it's just cute so I'm including it.

If The Hazbin Hotel Characters Worked At A School
Charlie- You might think Charlie would be the principal but NO! Charlie is the therapist! She tries to get everyone into her office for a session by the end of the year- including the teachers! Vaggie- Vaggie would teach mainstream math. Her favorite thing about teaching math is giving people extra homework when they disrupt her class. (A lot of people leave with extra homework. One time Angel Dust walked in on her in the middle of a test, and she made him do a homework sheet).
Angel Dust- He is a substitute. He's actually qualified to teach computer science, but he doesn't. It's his best kept secret why he doesn't.
Husk- He teaches Italian. He's not properly fluent in Italian and only got the job because Lucifer lost a gamble to him and Husk said he'd let him keep his money if he did "one tiny favor". Angel Dust likes to lurk outside Husk's classroom when he gets the chance, and the second Husk mispronounces a word, Angel will stick his head in, correct him and then dart back out. Husk pretends to hate it but he actually finds it really hot. (Angel Dust was also actually the one who TAUGHT Husk Italian).
Lucifer- Lucifer is the principal. He doesn't really care what most of his employees do, including stalking the Italian teacher, cruel and unusual punishment during guitar lessons, or fucking in the janitor's closet. As long as "most of his employees" doesn't include Alastor.
Alastor- Alastor actually teaches health, or sex ed, or whatever you call it. He went to college and got a degree and didn't do it "The Husk Way" all so he could do two things: 1. Properly represent queer people, especially trans people, during the class because he knows, as a trans person, that it's really hard not to feel undermined during the class. 2. Make jokes about being an asexual person teaching sex ed (I'm not asexual/aromantic but it just seems like the kind of thing Alastor would do- especially considering how he reacts to Angel badly propositioning him). If you make a queerphobic comment in Alastor's class, you're dead. Possibly literally. Alastor never actually adheres to the curriculum, and Lucifer keeps trying to break into his class and catch him but somehow Al is always two steps ahead. When Lucifer is not at school, Alastor takes his whole class down to the kitchens and has them make jambalaya for the whole period. If you can't eat jambalaya, Alastor has a whole closet full of alternative ingredients for you but EVERYONE IS EATING SOME FORM OF JAMBALAYA OR EVERYONE HAS TO FIX ALASTOR'S VINTAGE RADIOS DURING DETENTION FOR A MONTH.
Lute- She teaches biology and is that one teacher who everyone either loves or hates. She runs the GSA and has weekly meetings and she's also the teacher who becomes your replacement mom if your real mom sucks. (This also applies to the teachers, she's also basically Angel Dust's mother by now). If you make a queerphobic comment in her class, she will stalk for exactly two weeks after you say it, slowly recording every single discriminatory thing you say. Then she will make you stay after school hours and reads off her entire list. Then she assigns you detention for two weeks and makes you write a 5-page essay on whatever chapter of Queer Ducks her heart desires in size 8 Arial font during the few precious hours of the day you don't have detention.
Adam- He teaches the jazz band, and if you play guitar, you get double lessons. Twice a month, Adam conducts tests randomly. You have to get up and play a song of his choice- no sheet music allowed. If you mess up even once, Adam gets to smack your guitar with a rock and you get to pay for the damages. (Lucifer knows, doesn't care, and makes rubber duck voodoo dolls all day long.)
Cherri- She teaches gym and if a student isn't running fast enough, she throws basketballs at them. Not hard to HIT them, but just enough to give them some motivation.
Sir Pentious- He doesn't work at this school. He works at a preschool in a different town. But since it's only a half-day, as soon as he gets the chance, he leaves and goes to stare longingly at Cherri while she somehow manages not to get fired. Everyone is just used to him being there, and he's fine with that.

My Hazbin fankids! I also have an ask blog for them! @hazbinkiddos ,some info on them all
-Janus and Brandy are the oldest being about 16-17, Crosley is 15, Remus and Jubilee are about 12-13, Honeycrisp is 5, and C4 is 3
-Janus is genderfluid and goes by any pronouns, Brandy is trans MtF, Jubilee is bigender and uses he/she, Remus is trans FtM, Crosley is a Demiboy he/they, Honeycrisp is intersex and Lucifer convinced Adam to let them choose when their older and uses gender-neutral pronouns till time, and C4 is a boy
-Janus is kinda really sad a lot of the time, usually has to make sure everyone else doesn't die, and their best friend is Brandy, and their not very close with their moms
-Brandy is the most chill of the group, she's generally laid back and gives good advice like her dad, she considers Janus her best friend and tries to help them be happy, the two are closest, she's also very close with both her dads, Angel taught her how to do make up
-Jubilee is the second most chaotic, she's most likely to steal a car, and despite that he's actually close to all his moms, she tries to help her older sibling but isn't sure how, he's closest to Remus
-Remus is the most chaotic and most likely to commit a crime in general, his favourite musical is Heathers, and probably thought about blowing up a school multiple times, he wears tap shoes to be louder, and he is closest with Jubilee, out of his dads he's closest with Adam
-Crosley is kind of a loner that acts like he hates everyone, especially his older sister (but Charlie knows he doesn't mean it), despite being a grump that acts like he hates everyone he actually sincerely cares about his family and would (and probably has) kill(ed) for them, only they can bully their family
-Honeycrisp has eaten a battery, is very attached to all their dads bio and Al, would eat a battery again, and their best friend is C4, their nickname is Honey
-C4 was named that because Cherri and Pen had no fucking clue what to name this child, he's more attached to his dad and can often be found hugging his dad or his best friend Honeycrisp, has yet to eat a battery but probably would if offered
and some fun explanations for the names behind the scenes, Janus and Remus were named after the Sander Sides characters as I have a goal to name a character after all of the sides, Honeycrisp was named that because I wanted to named them after an apple and I thought that one was funny, Brandy's name is alcohol related, Crosley is named after an old radio brand, and C4 I thought was funny and I also had no clue what to name him

If I Should Stay
Part 1 | . . . | Part 33 | Part 34 | Part 35
Eddie shifts nervously as he waits for Steve to open the door. He’s halfway expecting Robin, which is why he completely blanks when Allison opens the door instead.
She casually leans against the doorframe and crosses her arm, raising a judgmental eyebrow. “Yes?”
He winces. “Is Steve home?”
“Maybe.” She studies her nails. “Why should I let you see him?”
He takes a deep breath. “I fucked up,” he says, more confidently than he feels. “I’d like to apologize.”
She hums. “And if he decides not to forgive you?”
Eddie spreads his hands hopelessly. “I’d deserve it.”
She tilts her head. “Would you keep trying?”
“It depends on how I feel he means it, what you say, and how he responds to it when I do try again. If I do.”
“Damn,” Allison says, smiling. “I like you.”
Eddie blinks. “Thank you?”
She pats him on the shoulder. “C’mon in. Just know I was the one who taught Steve how to swing a baseball bat.” She smirks as she shuts the door behind him.
Eddie gulps as Steve calls from the kitchen, “Al? Who’s- oh,” he says, walking into the living room and stopping short at the sight of Eddie.
He’d had half a smile on his face that quickly drops at the sight of Eddie. Eddie feels his heart drop in tandem. “Steve,” Eddie says, begs. “Can… can I talk to you?”
Steve looks at him for a moment, then glances behind him to toss a hand towel back in the kitchen. He clenches his jaw and nods. “Sure.”
Allison slips past him and ruffles Steve’s hair on her way to the kitchen. “Asshole,” he mutters.
“Bitch,” she calls back at him before the door shuts behind her.
Eddie snorts, then sobers when Steve raises a brow his direction. “Sorry, I’m not laughing at you, just… is that what having a sibling is like?”
Steve’s expression softens as he glances behind himself. “Yeah.”
Eddie takes a breath and glances at the ground, building his courage, before looking up at Steve. “I’m sorry. I didn’t give you any chance to speak, I just assumed and when you didn’t say anything—again, because I didn’t give you a chance to—I took it as confirmation.” He shifts. “I’m not… this isn’t an excuse, okay? It’s an explanation. And it’s me saying I’m not willing to let it get in the way of us before we’re even a thing. I’m a runner. If things don’t go my way, if they get hard, if I get scared—hell, especially when I get scared—I run. I run, and I hurt people.” He takes a breath and looks Steve in the eye. His hands are shaking. “Like you. I hurt you, and I’m sorry. And I’m… I’m not going to run. Not now. Not later. I do believe you’ve changed—the past few days are evidence enough—and I want to get to know you.”
Steve takes an eternity—five seconds—to process his words. “What you said hurt me,” he says quietly. “And I’m not sure I can get over it just like that.”
“I’ll grovel every day if I have to. Until you believe me.”
Steve offers him a half smile. “That’s the thing. I do believe you, Eds. And I want us to be okay again. But I think it’s gonna take some time.”
Eddie nods. “If there’s anything I can do, to prove I mean it…”
Steve offers him a cheeky grin, and his heart skips a beat. “Kiss me?”
It’s half-joking, half-serious, and Eddie takes it as the olive branch it is. “Absolutely,” he immediately answers, smiling, moving to cup Steve’s cheeks in his hands.
He leans in and kisses him, slowly, heartfelt, the way Steve deserves to be kissed, then leans back and swipes his thumbs over Steve’s cheekbones. “God,” he murmurs. “You’re incredible, d’you know that?”
He feels the heat from Steve’s blush in his palms. “I’m just me.”
“No such thing as just when it’s you,” Eddie answers, completely serious.
Steve chuckles and rests their foreheads together. “How long did Robin yell at you?”
Eddie’s brows furrow. “I haven’t seen her. Wayne pulled the story out of me and said I was being an idiot.”
Steve begins to snicker. “Last I knew, she was heading over to give you a piece of her mind.”
Eddie chuckles, then suddenly pales. “Oh, fuck.”
Steve blinks. “What?”
“Knowing Wayne? He invited her in. They’re best friends now.”
“I see no downsides to this.”
“They’re going to gang up on us, Steve. It’s all downsides.”
“Nah. You, maybe, but Robs and I are soulmates.”
Eddie gasps and puts a hand to his chest. “Are you insinuating you’d chose your soulmate over your-”
He stops short, heart thumping oddly. “Um. Steve?”
“What are we?” Steve answers.
“Yeah.”
“That’s… a really good question, Eddie.”

Headcanon that Roy had to teach Ed how to do taxes at one point and it went about as well as being in elementary school and asking your dad for help on your math homework. Like:
*three hours in*
roy: what does that say.
ed: i don’t know
roy: do you know how to read.
ed, sounding unsure: *sobbing* …YES???
roy: DO YOU KNOW HOW TO READ, FULLMETAL. WHAT DOES IT SAY.
ed, sobbing: I DON’T. KNOW.
al, sitting quietly in the back playing with the cat he smuggled in: 👁️👄👁️
alternatively trisha taught him how to do taxes before she died because she wanted him to be prepared

what are some of your favorite pl headcanons?
Aughhh. I have so many. 805 messages in one of the servers im in. Okok.
Des is a prick about manners. Particularly table manners. Don’t talk with your mouth full, elbows off the table, cup on the right side, etc. He was taught piano when he was little and didn’t pick it back up till college. He reunites with Hershel in the days past the ending of UF. He takes things apart but can’t figure out how to put them back together unless he was the one that made it so he’s banned from the engine room in the Bostonius. He can also sew and embroider. He has a cat allergy. He’s overly dramatic (to Raymond and Raymond alone) when he’s sick, but won’t say anything if he’s seriously ill or he thinks someone needs him. Des took his dad’s glasses but they were prescriptioned so he fucked up his eyesight. So now he actually needs glasses. He still hums lullabies he learned when he was little, and he used to sing them to his daughter.
Hershel knits and crochets. Lucille taught him and he does it a lot when he’s stressed or bored. He made so many sweaters in the hospital. Especially when he was in high school he mother henned his friends a ton. Didn’t know why he had such bad anxiety about losing his friends. + Randall is reckless. Bad combo. Hershel has night terrors and just doesn’t say anything about them. They were a lot worse when he was younger though. Uhh. The Getting Beat Up By The Government fucked him up bad. Head trauma memory problems on top of mental trauma memory problems. He gets injured sometimes on his adventures and doesn’t say anything which causes a lot of chronic pain. His back got fucked up in ED. Hershel has so so many identity problems. He also needs glasses kinda bad
Luke and Clark are vegetarian. Clark more so but Luke will eat meat when necessary. He doesn’t enjoy it though, and won’t eat anything less than well done. Luke mimics Hershel’s behaviors often. Luke has a chronic fatigue disorder and will go to bed anywhere. Eepiest guy
Randall has ADHD. He has a hard time reading other people’s emotions and tones, and has zero volume control. Definitely ate dirt as a kid.
Angela likes horror novels and being outside. Claustrophobic. Henry is French.
Emmy likes fruit. Sweet tooth all the way but she’ll go ham if she sees fruit. Citrus for the win. Also like sour candies. Post AL she still works out just because she’s really into the habit.
Flora is into mechanics. She has a hard time when things aren’t predictable, and over-rationalizes frequently to make things make sense. Separation anxiety. Also liked horror and mystery books. Had a mythology phase.

Roy and Riza vs defeated idealism.
Roy and Riza's journey in Fullmetal Alchemist is the struggle of the naive idealism of youth against the cynical realism of adulthood. At the core of their characters there is a tenet: that Alchemy — or rather power — should be used for the benefit of the people. Like many things in FMA there is an irony in this. This belief that's so crucial to their characters is something they inherited from someone who, in a way, represents the antithesis of this idea.
Berthold Hawkeye.
The Manga goes out of its way to tell us this is something Behold believed in and passed on to them. First when Roy uses it to justify why he joined the military, and then when Riza admits that she believed in her father's words.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing is that there is a dissonance between Berthold's teachings and his character's actions. Berthold is a recluse living away from the people his hoarded knowledge is supposed to help. Roy and Riza know this, and they call him out on it.
They both fervently believe in Berthold's teaching, and they don't understand why he's so adamantly against putting it to practice. When they join the military they don't do so to spite him, they do so because they believe in what he preaches, so much so that they want to prove his cynicism wrong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The problem is that Berthold is right.
He's sooo freaking right.
Their government is corrupt. All that talk about protecting their people is pure propaganda. His cynicism is the pain of someone who was burned too much by the world's cruelty. Berthold is an idealist that has given up, much like Hohenheim before Trisha. He is someone that once wished to help people, and probably came to the same painful realization that Roy and Riza eventually had in Ishval. The path to hell can be paved with good intentions, and sometimes you're completely powerless to do anything about it.
Now, what makes Riza and Roy such great characters, is the fact that instead of falling into despair and secluding themselves like Berthold did, they decide to fight back and continue clawing at the world with their own — no longer so naive — idealism. They have seen where defeat leads to, and they refuse to walk that path.
My favorite example of Roy's acceptance of both Berthold's teaching, as well as his rejection of Berthold's character, is his conversation with Hughes in Ishval.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This conversation is such a beautiful call back to Berthold telling Roy that alchemists die when they cease to think. This is Roy doubling down, acknowledging that yes he was naive — the world is a much more complicated and painful place than he realized — but still he refuses to give up on the face of reality like Berthold did. Where Berthold accepted his fate, as a man who was already dead inside, Roy and Riza continue to struggle to survive.
Berthold might have taught Roy and Riza that power should be used for good, but his biggest lesson to them was perhaps serving as an example of what happens when you allow your dreams and hope to die.
Ps. This thematic of children following on their parent/mentor footsteps and surpassing them is constant on FMA. Winry being a mechanic like her grandma and deciding to be like her parents by forgiving Scar. Ed and Al becoming alchemist like Hohenheim, but also embracing their familiar bonds and continue to help people despite their trauma. Ling Yao becoming emperor and dismantling the infighting his father had promoted. Scar embracing his brother's alchemy and dream. It is then fitting that Roy and Riza also inherited something from Berthold and then surpassed him.

Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 88
Greed once again defiantly claims eating him would give you indigestion.
Tumblr media
So what did Hohenheim do to wake Al up? Did he just tap the seal until Al came to or did he maybe do something to reinforce the seal?
Tumblr media
Ed and Hohenheim have both misnamed Darius.
Tumblr media
And apparently Pride was able to possess Al because Al is his uncle.
Hohenheim was about to say something he did in Xing before Heinkel interrupted him. Imagine Foo's surprise if Hohenheim had mentioned how he taught the Purification Arts to Xing.
Pride said he could detect everyone by smell so they can't hide now. Did he mean that as a general thing? Like, he can smell where a person is hiding. Or did he mean his shadows can now bypass some limitation they had before?
So without Gluttony's powers, would Pride be unable to detect Lanfan behind this tree? And also can he even attack her while she's in the tree's shadow?
Tumblr media
Ed's the protagonist. Of course he's annoyed Hohenheim called himself the hero.
Heinkel's bandaging was made from the remains of Darius's shirt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was the moment Greed took to run away.
Tumblr media
Without his power, Pride really acts like a little kid. Pride - as in the concept - is more akin to arrogance and ego rather than to be proud. And what has more ego than a spoiled brat?
Those pictures of Pride with previous heads of state all show him alongside men. I can't comment on what relation if any he had or pretended to have with them, but there likely was some divide based on Pride keeping tabs on the leaders of Amestris which he never had to experience with Wrath.
Since Wrath was one of Pride's siblings, Pride could probably relax his role a bit and actually pretend to be a child even behind closed doors. And since Wrath was in on the plot, they could both treat Mrs. Bradley as a wife and mother.
Mrs. Bradley managed to infect both Wrath and Pride in different ways. To Wrath, she is the one thing he ever got to choose and he earned her love. To Pride, she is a source of love and affection that he's never actually gotten from Father.
May arrived in Central just recently. What has she been doing for the last 5 months? There's no reason Envy would want to keep her away until the Promised Day.
The Ishbalans Kimblee killed were in the group shot in chapter 84.

Rocket.
A vehicle that uses jet propulsion to accelerate without using the surrounding air.
It was ironic, maybe even a bit laughable, that someone who'd seen chimeras, giant walking statues, stones in the color of blood made from human souls... that it was something as common as this throwing Edward's mind into shock and awe. Or, well - common in this world, anyway. A world not bond to the law of equivalent exchange, a world where Science reigned supreme and Alchemy was lost to the dark medieval times. His world, now. For the good and for the bad.
But, yes, rockets. Damn interesting things. Ed was by far a man of chemistry, rather than physics and math, yet learning about these equations was entertaining nonetheless; he'd always loved learning new things. The little mountain of books currently piled up beside him spoke for itself. He'd been in the library all morning, reading and learning and indulging into the perfect escapism while ignoring everything else wrong in his life - hours passing by and barely moving, save for the turning of pages and the occasional shuffling into a slightly different sitting position. That was, until he actually ran out of books in the mini-mountain.
And that's when God saw fit to remind him that, even by the other side of the Gate, he was still accountable for his sins and must repent.
Because, of course - the one book Ed now really wanted was out of reach; peeking down at him from the very top of the shelf. Downright mocking him with its shiny cover and rich colors. Come and read me if you can, I'm so interesting!, Ed could practically hear the siren's call. And what was Edward Elric once Fullmetal Alchemist if not stubborn and resilient? Taking the chair he’d been sitting on, he brought it closer and climbed on top and - there! Problem solved. Or, almost... for, in the end, he did not grab the thing all the same. Suddenly distracted by the very characteristic sensation of being stared at.
"What? Never seen someone who can’t reach the top shelf?"
A short person, in other words, but it would take far more than being stuck in a foreign, alternate universe for Ed to admit it out loud. And, yes, maybe he was being grumpy. Maybe the stranger, whoever they were, didn't even mean to stare and was simply also searching for a book in that same shelf. Maybe it was just Ed's paranoia kicking in, because the past had taught him over and over again that being stared at usually implied having to prepare for a battle. Either way, when glancing over his shoulder with a scowl and ready to shoo the person away, what Edward found was-
...A ghost.
Past and future mashed together, and no single explanation given.
His gold-colored eyes widened and suddenly it was Ed staring, staring hard and helplessly, color draining from his features and every ounce of strength momentarily leaving his body.
"....Al...?"
But could it be…? His beloved Alphonse, returned to flesh body and somehow here in this world…? give him back, he’s my little brother, he’s everything i have, you can even take my heart Ed's hand that had been left hanging absently found the book, then, but a different one and far heavier. And that, along with the discharge of entropy suddenly taking over his mind, the sudden screeching of his memories plunging all over again into that dreadful night, could really only have one outcome: Ed losing his balance and toppling right off the chair with a quiet gasp. And not only did he meet the library floor right on his butt and in a very undignified manner but, right after, that same volume came to drop on his head.
And, somewhere in the Gate, Truth was probably laughing hysterically.

do you just one day realize that you have tons of ideas and Aus, and half of them- if not 3/4 of them will be forever forgotten?
Like. When I tell you the amount of things that I come up with during one day is... Is unbelievable? Sometimes it is the same plot but different scenarios.
The other week, I was going back to my old chats with my bestie, and I was shocked to find this very old Au that I came up with, ( Papa Royed obviously.) and the fact I drew for it too??
I also Reopned an older Au, called “ Roy Elric.” which, really, Roy in Trisha’s shoes. Does that mean Riza is Ho? No I don't think so. I was inspired by this older fic on Ao3, and kinda doodled for their Au.
Another Au- Tangled. I have only shared this with my bestie, but basically when the “ kingdom dance.” music was trending- which has been my favorite type of music since I watched Tangled which was in 2011 😂 when I heard it again, I realized how much that song ( music.) will fit Fma, and 2 ideas came:
what if Fma had a culture? Like, dances, foods, and Music and clothes?? I started designing Riza’s costume over good 9 months ago, so if you are interested I will love to share
Idea number 2 is basically your classic Fma x Tangled. With Ed as Punzel and Roy as Eugene and Ho as mother gothal. Not that Ed is a prince, but the idea of him being locked and Roy freeing him to show him the world.
There is this other idea, that Roy adopted Ed and Al before they committed the taboo but kept them a secret to protect them?
And the idea of Royai retiring and having Ed and Roy is blind and military comes and Ed learns who his parents are?
Also, I never realized that I have been writing regressed Ed? Like, I never did until I started following Mayliz ❤️ and I was like. “ hold up, this has a name?” and then my bestie pointed it and was like, “ Your Ed always regressed,” and I was like “ oh yeah.” and kinda tempted to write a whole fic with that WITH AL AND ED being regressed
What If the taboo failed BECAUSE Ed isn't Trisha’s biological son?
Like, gah, I didn't even scratch the surface of these ideas. And I want to write after math of Hughes’ death! And OH MY GOD I HAVE THE AU WHERE ROY WAS IN HUGHES’ SHOE!
Okay okay, so instead of Gracia and Elysia, it’s Riza and Ed and Al, but the catch here is that Riza isn't a solider, she is just Roy’s wife, one day when the whole team goes around to fight Envy they find Mrs. Mustang there with her husband’s gloves, KILLING Envy? Like having no shame because he killed her husband and orphaned her kids. This would mean, that Riza is an alchemist too. Roy probably taught her to keep herself and the kids safe just in case
Also, I do want to write a fic where the boys just grief the loss of their dad
😩😩😩 I don't joke when I say this is just a normal day with my brain, haha, I just wished I had more time to draw and write. I am busy currently, but I am hoping and praying that mid of December won't come without me posting something. I want to finish Took my kids? Take my fire now- which, has been on my chest since last year and there is no way we're going to Jan 2024 with this fic unfinished
And yeah I guess this is all have to say today, is there an idea that you liked? What do you think of this haha

FIC: Tempora Mutantur, Nos et Mutamur in Illis ~ Fullmetal Alchemist ~ Ed/Roy
Title: Tempora Mutantur, Nos et Mutamur in Illis Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist Author: Batsutousai Rating: General Pairings: Edward Elric/Roy Mustang Warnings: AU, time travel fix-it, happy ending Summary: 10-15 years post Reverti Ad Praeteritum, Roy and Ed enjoy a holiday up at the cottage and end up talking about kids.
Roy waited until he'd finished about half of his coffee—and finished the apple—before asking, "What's wrong?"
Ed's head tilted slightly towards him, but he didn't look away from where the sun was visible over the dark shapes of Central. (As much as Roy wanted to warn him about burning his retinas by staring at the sun, experience had taught him that pointing out something obvious like that, would just get a sarcastic response and Ed—or Al, no matter what lies the brothers might want to insist on about the younger being better behaved—continuing whatever misdeed Roy had felt the need to comment on.)
"It's Nina's birthday," Ed said after a moment of silence, like he'd been weighing the pros and cons of telling the truth.
It was that pause, more than his certainty of the date, that told Roy his husband was talking about the daughter he'd left behind in another life, because Ed didn't tend to talk much about his life with Winry. At least, not to Roy. (Not to Maes or Al, either, based on some of the questions they'd tried to sneak into conversation.) Which, well, Roy knew Ed still felt guilty for everything that had happened during the last few years of that life, and he didn't doubt that a part of Ed would always mourn leaving that family behind.

🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?
Lol, the last time I answered a question like this, I was accused of being racist for saying that Sam Wilson is funny and emotionally stable XD
But as I think about it now, I suppose the real answer is that the toughest characters for me to write are snarky geniuses. The main ones I've had occasion to write would be Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark. For one thing, they're much more intelligent than I am, so that's hard to write, and also their areas of expertise are very far removed from my own. Then, at least in Tony's case, I always feel the need to reference pop culture in some way - but not the nerdy stuff I would actually know about. Tony's always dropping references to movies I haven't seen or bands I don't listen to or something, so it takes a lot of effort to figure out what to make him say, and both he and Sherlock have this mocking way of talking a lot of the time that doesn't come naturally to me. I don't feel like I've ever really gotten either of their voices quite right.
🌻 How often do you read your own fics?
Less than I used to, I think. These days, I usually only read my own stuff when someone comments, "I love how you did XYZ!" And then I'm like, "Wait, I did XYZ?" and of course I have to go read it to see what they're talking about :P By the way, I'm not counting reading back over earlier portions of whatever WIP I'm in the middle of. That's just part of the writing process.
🍬 Do you write for multiple fandoms? If yes, what is your favorite fic of yours for each fandom?
From my FFNet profile:
Tumblr media
So yes, I would say so XD
I only have one fic apiece for Wolf's Rain, Castle in the Sky, Death Note, Prince of Persia, Oddworld, Lovely Complex, Tsubasa Chronicle, Professor Layton, Supernatural, Star Wars, WordGirl, Daredevil, Avengers, and Dororo, so that goes without saying. Here are the others:
Final Fantasy X - Someday the Dream Will End My novelization of the game. Please note the date this was published and realize I was sixteen the last time I touched this thing ^^' It is very far beneath my current standards, but it's what got me into writing fanfiction in the first place, and it taught me so much about how stories work, how to write novel-length works, and also a lot of my preferences when it comes to writing and posting fanfic, specifically.
Harry Potter - Change I don't actually like any of my HP fics very much, if I'm being honest. I wrote most of them ages and ages ago, so the writing isn't very good, and I don't think I handled the few good ideas I had with the delicacy they required. So I picked this one because I wrote it much later than all the rest, so it's at least fairly competent. It's just a little exploration of a headcanon about how the broken Hogwarts House system could be tweaked to not be quite so divisive and counter-productive.
Full Metal Alchemist - The Ultimate Sacrifice Oh my gosh, I've written so many FMA fics over the years, it's almost impossible to pick x.x Some of them are really old and not very well written, some have really good ideas but my skill at the time is holding them back, some are quite good but...are they my favorite? In the end, I decided to go with this oneshot because it was burning a hole in my brain for years before I finally got it written down, and I think it still holds up okay seven years later. Basically, it's an AU that explores what it would be like if Ed uses his love for Al as the toll to get Al's body back. Super angsty, lots of tears, it's great! :D
ICO - Piaculum My novelization of the game, written after the official one was published in Japan but a good three years before it was ever translated to English, so that's how I justified writing it ^^' I didn't really know what I was doing. Parts of it are still kind of good, and I like how I dealt with certain themes and drew in connections to Shadow of the Colossus. But yeah, if you want a book that contains the story of my favorite game of all time, just go read Castle in the Mist by Miyuki Miyabe instead.
Legend of Zelda - One Hundred Beats A 100 Themes fic centered around the friendship of Link and Navi. I wrote this whole thing during one of the busiest and most exhausting periods of my life, and I'll always be impressed by past-me for doing that. I also really like some of the stories I came up with for it, especially all the AUs. Most importantly of all, brainstorming one chapter led me to the headcanon that healed the pain of what they did (or didn't do) with Navi in the canon, and for that I will always love this fic.
Sherlock - Memento Mori One of my kidlock oneshots, an AU where John and Sherlock met as kids. This one deals with the death of Sherlock's dog Redbeard (needless to say, it's quite different from the canon). Personally, I think this is the best one of my kidlock fics.
Captain America - Make Me Whole Obviously! This is the fic that took over my life and changed me irrevocably. For the first time ever, after so many years of writing just to get the ideas out and because no one else was doing it, this time I had a story where, even if ten other people came out of the woodwork with the exact same concept who were much better writers than me, I wanted to be the one to write it. I really got the sense that God wanted me to write this story, and I've seen the fruit of that over and over again. And, of course, without this fic I wouldn't be writing the mammoth WIP I'm working on now.
🚦What sort of endings do you prefer to write: ambiguous, bad, happily ever after, etc.?
You know, I've always said that bittersweet endings are my favorite. Endings like LotR, where the good guys win and evil is defeated, but not without great cost. But as I think through some of the endings I've been most satisfied about in my own writing, I think I need to fine-tune that. I think my favorite kind of ending is a particular brand of bittersweet, where it's not exactly "the Shire has been saved, but not for me." It's more like "we've been hurt, and we're not okay yet, but I think we will be." To me, that's the most realistic kind of ending you can get, because that's the way our lives are. (Not that I don't appreciate a good, completely happy ending where everybody lives happily ever after!)

any other headcanons for Hohenheim?
ah man, of course!
He's actually a very good cook! He had to fend for himself for centuries, and has half a country inside his head, so he definitely learned a few things. He also genuinely enjoys doing it, finds it very calming.
He really enjoys gardening, another activity he finds very calming.
He cried when Ed and Al were born. Cried when he held them for the first time... cried when Trisha told him she was pregnant. He's a sap <3
He picked out Al's name (Trisha picked Ed's)
He loves strawberries (is that me projecting bc it's my favorite fruit ?? that's a secret I'll never tell...)
His hair is soft... So So soft.
Cried the first time Trisha said "I love you"
Prefers to fix things by hand, rather than use alchemy, if he's able.
Despite not being a fan of romance novels, he's read all of Trisha's favorites and always listens when she rambles about them.
Following that ^, while he was gone, he bought copies of Trisha's favorites so he could have a small part of her with him.
And despite not liking romance novels, he's such a Romantic Sap.
He recites Xerxian and Xingese poetry to Trisha all the time.
He's So touch starved but So Afraid to touch his loved ones. A real problem. Luckily, Trisha is very good at reading him, and knows when he wants affection, but is afraid to initiate it, so she makes the first move pretty often.
He used to slip into his native language a lot when Ed and Al were babies, and taught Trisha some words and phrases as well.
He also used to make Trisha a lot of Xerxian dishes. Granted he had to use a lot of substitutes, but he tried his best to get them as accurate as he could.
He has trouble trusting people after what happened with the Homunculus.
It's pretty rare for him to get a regular night's sleep, he deals with pretty constant nightmares. Some he feels he can't wake up from, other times once they've woken him up he can't fall back asleep.
All of his underwear have fun designs like this :^)
That's all I got for now because I have to sleep. I love Mr. Ho so much !!!

Writer's Month 2023, Day 18: "Free"
Original fiction, specifically the Fairy/Changeling WIP Status/Word count: A little vignette, 609 words. Summary: A five-year-old changeling has a philosophical disagreement with Aesop's Fables.
Toby the pooka couldn't read. It seemed that human children his age were usually starting to learn, but it wasn't the sort of thing they taught in Elphame. At least, they hadn't taught him. Why bother, given what they had planned to do to him?
Now Toby lived in the human world, with a human family. His new father and brothers could all read. Even the youngest of his older brothers, who seemed to enjoy showing off this talent.
Right now, he was reading Toby a story about a wolf and a dog. They were talking to each other. This was odd, since they were mortal animals rather than fairies, but apparently this was something called "artistic license." The dog was trying to convince the wolf to come live in a house like him.
"'...and fa-awn on the people of the house. In re-turn you will get'" His brother screwed up his face "'tid-bits of every kind, chicken bones, choice bits of meat, sugar, cake, and much more be-side, not to speak of kind words and car—car-ess-es.' I think that means hugs," he added, glancing up at Toby.
Toby nodded. Then he transformed into a wolf puppy, still clad in his oversized pajamas.
"Dad says not to do that. You'll rip your clothes."
"I only ripped them when I turned into a horse."
His brother turned back to the book. "He'll still be mad about you gettin' hair on the bed."
Toby chuffed and turned back, then took a few seconds to adjust his clothes again.
His brother continued the story. The dog and the wolf were going home now, until the dog started telling the wolf how he was chained up every night to keep from running away.
"'What! A chain!' cried the Wolf. 'Don't you go were—werver—where-ev-er you please?'
"'Not al-ways! But what's the dif-fer-ence?' re-pli-ed the Dog.
"'All the difference in the world! I don't care a...rap? for your feasts and I would-n't take all the ten-der young lambs in the world at that price.' And away ran the Wolf to the woods.' The end," his brother said decisively, closing the book.
Toby frowned. "The end?"
"Yeah."
"...I don't like that one. I wanted the wolf to go home with the dog."
His brother began to answer, when their father called his name from another room. "Coming!" He crawled off of Toby's bed and out of their room, leaving the book behind him.
Though he couldn't read, Toby picked up the book and looked at the pictures. He saw the wolf running into the woods, while the dog watched in confusion. You could see the fur worn away on his neck, and Toby's rubbed his own, but his face was sour.
Toby had spent a long time living in the woods, alone. Often as a wolf, or a fox or a bird. It hadn't felt like freedom. He'd spent all that time trying to find a human to take him in.
His new family went camping a lot. Toby still got to run around as a wolf when he wanted. That was fun. But it was fun because he had his dad and brothers with him, knowing that they would bring him back to their warm, safe house in the end. Chasing rabbits was better when he didn't have to catch them, because Dad would cook him dinner rather than let him starve.
"Stupid wolf," Toby mumbled. "He don't know what he's missing."
Toby put his hand on the picture, and almost unconsciously, turned into a dog. After a moment, he remembered his dad's rule and turned back into a boy again.
