I know no one else cares but
the Pokémon nerd in me has been considering Eddie and Chrissy's teams the past week and I decided that they'd have:
Chrissy: Gardevoir (that she raised from a Ralts she befriended as a kid), Umbreon (which her mother HATES bc it was supposed to be a Sylveon, plus dark), Venusaur (also hated by Laura bc """ugly"""), Ninetails, Haxorus (listen the Axew she found was just SO CUTE), and Raichu (admittedly this one is self-insert bc Raichu is my fave).
Eddie: Alakazam (Eddie's first Pokémon was an Abra, and he was shocked bc he knew Abra always ran away, but for some reason, this one only came closer), Gyarados (admittedly, he just thought Magikarp were useless, but he used to be told he was useless, too), Espeon (this was almost disappointing bc he wanted an Umbreon, but she's secretly his favorite), Typhlosion (bc badass), Plusle (bc cute), Gengar (which was an unintentional find, but Eddie caught him bc what a weird little dude, right?)
Anyway they meet bc Chrissy's Umbreon and Eddie's Espeon are obsessed with each other, and they can't keep them apart. 101 Dalmatians meetcute ensues.

Rating all of Pokémon's regional forms pt. 3!
Hisuian forms:
Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine: Hisuian Growlithe is pretty darn cute! I love the fact that they covered its eyes with its hair!! And Hisuian Arcanine looks quite badass in my opinion. 55/10
Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode: I love the Electric/Grass type given and it fits the Hisui region pretty damn well! I like that the expressions are swapped here. It really makes them look different from OG Voltorb and Electrode! 9/10
Hisuian Typhlosion: Hmmm... I kinda like the smug expression in contrast to OG Typhlosion. You can really feel the Ghost type in it. I also like the contrast between the flames and the ghostly flames coming from Hisuian Typhlosion. 65/10
Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil: I like that Qwilfish got an evo. I felt it really deserved it as OG Qwilfish was pretty damn forgettable. I like Overqwil because of its metal design and savage Pokedex entry. I also love how different it is from OG Qwilfish. 20/10
Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler: Wow. I really love the color and expression contrast. I like the fact that it got a regional evo instead of a Hisuian Weavile. 45/10
Hisuian Samurott: Erm... I'm not a big fan of the fact that it's not that different from OG Samurott. But I like the details of the design! I like that they made it a little edgier. Well, at least they did something with it. The design could've been a lot worse. 6.7/10
Hisuian Lilligant: I like what they did with this one. I love the fact that they gave it a Grass/Fighting type and not Grass/Fairy. Lovely/10
White Striped Basculin and Basculegion: I love the fact that White Striped Basculin is gentle in contrast to Red and Blue Striped Basculin. Also, Basculegion's female form has me feeling bad for it. I just want to hug the poor creature.... 140/10
Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark: I like the direction they took with it. It's got a metal backstory and a very beautiful design. 256/10
Hisuian Braviary: I just feel pretty... eh about it. 5/10
Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra: I just don't like 'em. I don't like the fact that they don't look different from their OG forms. I despise their shiny forms too. 1.5/10
Hisuian Avalugg: I don't know about this one, but I can say that for one, I like the fact that at least they tried to make it look different unlike Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra. 7/10
Hisuian Decidueye: Now THIS is something real good. I like the autumn colors they gave it! And its pose is BADASS!!!!! 341/10
Favorite: Hisuian Decidueye
Second favorites: Hisuian Zoroark and Basculegion
Least favorite: Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra
Most badass: Hisuian Arcanine
Cutest: Hisuian Growlithe
Reminder: Be nice. Don't bring other people down for agreeing or disagreeing with this list. It's just my silly old opinion, after all. Don't make me use Curse on anyone.

Speaking of said immunities, I keep on thinking of the scene where the scientist and their supporters trying to use Status Conditions on Ingo. After they find out they don't work on him, they try to target Akari instead. Maybe even accidentally have one of their pokemon use an actually attacking move on her instead. Instead of her being affected or knocked out or anything, she's just standing their, back turned. She didn't even flinch. Then, she slowly looks back, eyes glowing slightly through her mask, and she lets out her Typhlosion.
"Show them a real status move." Akari says as her starter lets out Infernal Parade. Rather it be used as an attack though, it acted more like a defensive wall of purple will-o-wisps. A terrifying purple inferno lighting up the middle of the forest but nothing was burnt... Besides those who continue to pursue her. But even then, it wasn't serious.
Idk, I just keep imagining more badass Akari scenes.
-Nezu
Yessss!! This is beautiful! I love it! 💖
Though she does still feel statues effects, she just recovers very quickly so the entire time she’s looking so cool and intimidating she’s also trying very hard not to puke or drop to the ground. Her Typhlosion is aware of this and the moment ghostly flames are blocking the path Dusk makes Akari hold onto her as they get away so she doesn’t collapse.
Once there safe Akari just flops on the ground and groans for a while until Ingo hands her the appropriate berry to cure the remaining side effects.

Oooh, another person who writes for Maxie? Yaaaaaay x3 🐶
How bout you’re a recently promoted Magma Admin. (I’m gonna base this off myself a bit so forgive me). Complete nerd, so much that other grunts call you Maxie behind your back. But at the same time the grunts love you to death because you know how to have fun and you’re very kind and sweet when nobody’s provoking you. But one day, Archie challenges you. And the grunts learn You swear so bad you could make Archie horrified. Because he dropped an insult about Maxie and you followed that up with a swift punch in the face AND kick in the groin. And then when you two were separated Shelly suggested you walk the walk if you’re gonna talk the talk. Battle Archie. Your Typhlosion vs. Sharpedo. They think they know how it’s gonna go but OOPS YOUR TYPHLOSION KNOWS WILD CHARGE. You win and Maxie doesn’t know how to process he’s in love with a badass warrior woman that somehow made it onto HIS team. Lol.
(Please don’t kill me for writing something so long, I’m sleep deprived and excited and when those combine I tend to ramble and not shut up 😅🐶)
Gonna write Maxie’s reaction cause you got the rest covered lol
Asks open
-
-
Maxie doesn’t know what just happened, he doesn’t even know how to process it.
You not only physically stood up to Archie, who is stronger than most in team magma alone, but also wiped out his whole team with your Typhlosion.
And you’re still verbally beating Archie, who only stands there looking like a kicked puppy.
Maxie is very impressed.
But why is his heart beating so quickly?
His hands feel clammy.
It feels like his face is on fire.
You were so quick to defend him, how did you end up on his team with that kind of ferocity? He is grateful for it though.
“Sir? Are you alright?” Tabitha whispers to him.
“O-of course I’m fine! There is nothing wrong with me nor was I hurt, though I cannot say the same for Archie.”
He turns on his heels and gets a head start on walking away.
He doesn’t need anyone to see how flustered he is, or how far he has fallen for you.

Potatoes Pokémon Teams
Rules: Full teams of 6; 1 starter (pichu and eevee count); 1 legendary; fully evolved to show growth; Gen 1-4 (because I'm a Sinnoh boi)
Aru:
Tumblr media
Raichu: It would be almost insulting not to give the team leader the face of the show, especially when she has lightning-based powers.
Gengar: A tricky pokemon for an even trickier trainer.
Gyrados: Nothing matches Aru's zero to hero story like a Magikarp evolving into this wild badass.
Lucario: Someone who respects Aru's growth into a strong leader.
Tyranitar: A reference to Godzilla and Aru's general taste in movies.
Moltres: I think we all know which firebird this one reminds her of.
Mini:
Tumblr media
Empoleon: Piplup just looks like a bubble that could pop at any moment and Mini's first instinct was "must protecc"
Blissey: Doctor meets her nurse.
Rapidash: Flashback to her favorite night mare.
Dusknoir: First picked Duskull because it matched her death aesthetic.
Marowak: Similar weapons. Bones also match her aesthetic.
Giratina: Basically Pokemon's God of the dead.
Brynne:
Tumblr media
Charizard: I distinctly remember Brynne mentioning this.
Nidoqueen: Takes a queen to know one.
Machamp: Strong wrestler...need I say more?
Ditto: Two shapeshifters meet.
Mamoswine: Two foodies meet.
Regigigas: Powerhouse that made the continents [possibly with bare hands]
Nikita:
Tumblr media
Meganium: I've seen Chikorita show as much sass as Nikita.
Roserade: Elegance and a natural for the stage.
Milotic: Close to a mermaid and also a natural for the stage.
Beautifly: Cute. Also, it's the perfect compliment for Sheela's Dustox. (They both had Wurmples that evolved differently)
Gardevoir: Elegance and it's already wearing a dress.
Celebi: Small, cute, and in Mystery Dungeon, not a pushover.
Sheela:
Tumblr media
Typhlosion: Sheela thought Cyndaquil looked cute when it was sleeping...until she found out it was awake.
Alakazam: Same deal with Abra.
Espeon: A fellow psychic.
Dustox: Cute. Also, it's the perfect compliment for Nikita's Beautifly. (They both had Wurmples that evolved differently)
Altaria: Something that has its head in the clouds as often as she does
Jirachi: It wraps its yellow ribbons around itself like a blanket when it sleeps. How could she resist?!?
Kara:
Tumblr media
Venusaur: Bulbasaur's a classic!
Sunflora: Sun-based and lively.
Solrock: Sun-based. Also psychic like someone she knows.
Girafarig: Two-faced and relatable.
Unown: A Pokemon based on words?!? WANT!
Cresselia: Enchanting.
Aiden:
Tumblr media
Sceptile: Suave badass
Luxray: Wild and full of lightning like Aru.
Staraptor: Suave badass with wings.
Gallade: Suave bad- yeah, I'm seeing the pattern...
Kangaskhan: Flashback to the days of carrying around his backpack.
Dialga: God of Time. Can capture time in an instant like his camera.
Rudy:
Tumblr media
Feraligatr: Wild reptile
Smeargle: Messy artist
Kricketune: Musician.
Chatot: Singer/Musician
Sableye: Good eye for gems and vice versa.
Rayquaza: The most powerful snake ever.
Obviously, this is just my own guesswork and you guys are more than free to reblog with teams you think would suit them better.

I do complain a lot about the many, MANY flaws Pokémon as a franchise has, especially given how they've treated fans these last few years in the name of Mach speed capitalism.
But despite all of that, I do still enjoy Pokémon. It's hard to let go of all the fun times I've had, and it's equally as hard to forgive the state of the games in terms of quality.
Still, below is more of a positive retrospective of my time with the series. I'd like to think that despite it all, and despite a soulless corporation running things now, I do have mostly positive memories here, even if it's hard to tell sometimes.
My first game was Snap on the n64 with my family, and I remember being the first among my older sister, mom, and dad (who to be fair struggles to comprehend a remote control these days) to actually beat it when I was... 5? I think.
My first main game was Silver on a blue Gameboy Color, and my first Pokémon was a Cyndaquil... that I released after a prank from my friends- but then my first REAL Pokémon was a Cyndaquil in Crystal that would carry me all the way to Red, level 90 something- and funnily enough, I'd just realize my best friend I'm the world at the age of 6 or 7 was... a girl, during the height of my Cooties Scare phase. Still, I miss that Typhlosion now. It's gone now due to the battery in the cartridge dying and the actual cartridge itself becoming damaged and eventually lost in a move. I wouldn't truly defeat that same gen 2 Red until the 3ds Era, in my college years on virtual console Silver, and I feel like the female Typhlosion I have from that is the same as I lost way back when.
My favorite Pokémon main game of all time, though, is Black and White 2. Gen 5 was an underdog gen, and I guess I strongly attached to it during my teens because I had a bit of an underdog complex- everyone hated it at the time for daring to not have gen 1 in the game at the time, and everyone hated me for- well, existing and being born "different" (read: neurodivergent, overweight, ugly, poor compared to my classmates, etc), so I guess I identified with it to some degree. It was the first gen I truly took an interest in for leak seasons, and to this day still has some of the best stories, characters, cities, and Pokémon designs. BW2 being my absolute favorite in terms of Pokémon variety and availability, team composition variety, difficulty, balance, and just the sheer amount of stuff to do- including the POKÉMON WORLD TOURNAMENT! Where you could battle all the past gym leaders and champions! It was also the gen I started to have fun and be open with classmates and multi-player, and I appreciate the friendships I forged from that.
Of course if BW2 is my favorite game, then it should be obvious Unova is my favorite region. Unova was the first non Japanese region in a main game, and for some reason- I guess Murica familiarity- I really saw it as home. BW2 especially with Aspertia City, Floccesy Town, and Floccesy Ranch really resembling where I was born and raised down south. Anvil Town too- despite being mostly empty- served as a wonderful setting to first ever completed fan fic I ever wrote. Humilau and Undella Bay are probably still my favorite towns sheerly for the colors, music, vibes, and events that happen there.
My favorite starters are- wouldn't you know it- the starter Trio from Legends Arceus, another favorite- albeit unpolished, but very fun game. I still think I prefer base Decidueye and Typhlosion, but Hisuian Samurott is my all time favorite starter in terms of design and inspiration. In fact, it was the first pokemon I actively set out to shiny breed for. I even let it learn Sacred Sword, because both normal and shiny forms look so badass with their swords and armor. Muramasa, my original from Legends Arceus, quickly evolved and came in clutch against MANY alpha Pokémon and delivered the final blows to Volo's team, Giratina, and Giratina's Alt form. Dojikiri, my shiny, had a bit of a rough start leading my Blueberry Academy team, but it became one of my go tos for beating the BBE4 and Champion Kieran.
Speaking of Shinies, my first ever shiny Pokémon outside of Red Gyarados was actually a shiny Loudred in Runy when I was 8 I think. It was pink and holding... I think a Pecha berry- I think at the time I thought it was a Pinkan Pokémon like from the Orange Islands, and I had caught it. Unfortunately, I didn't know just how rare this was and got tricked by a kid I thought was my friend into trading it to him, thinking it was bad. I never got it back.
But, I think fate made it up to me- my next shiny would be an Eevee I hatched from an egg in... I think Diamond or Platinum. That Eevee eventually became an Umbreon, and I still have it at level 100 all these years later. It's a subtle design change, but I sincerely think it's probably one of the best shinies ever.
And of course one of my absolute favorite Pokémon- despite coming from a base game I DESPISE for annoying characters and railroading- is Corviknight. Corviknight feels like an absolute love letter directed to me- sue me, I love edgy Pokémon, and I've been tired of pretending they're not cool as shit. I love that it's a gigantic raven you can fly on- ravens are my favorite birds, and one actually play a huge part in one of my original stories. My Corviknight in particular was probably my favorite to use in a champion fight, because despite hating Leon as a character, I loved the final fight between my Corviknight and his Charizard, giving me similar goose bumps I'd feel when pitting my weaker starter against my past rivals' stronger ones.
The best battle gimmick- even though I feel like we really don't need anymore- was far and away Mega Evolutions. The designs were amazing and gave a lot of old and forgotten Pokémon MUCH, MUCH needed refreshing coats of paint, with my absolute favorites being Mega Lucario, Mega Gengar, and Mega Charizard X. I know it's devisive among fans, but really my favorite thing about Pokémon is evolving and changing my Pokémon to become even stronger than before, and although XY was piss your pants easy, I still adore the concept of the power of friendship allowing your Pokémon to EXCEED their limits. It's a shame GF hates it while even the anime and other Spinoff games STILL use it, because there was a ton of potential there and a ton of really great designs lost for... no real good reason, tbh.
My favorite spinoff I think is Colosseum- hence why I keep begging for Colo3. I had the game as a kid, but I never truly beat it until AFTER SwSh really made me question if I was still a fan- spoilers, I was and am, SwSh, GF, and TPC just severely burned me and I needed something refreshing to light my fire again. My favorite thing about Colosseum is that it just takes the already existing battle mechanics and cranks it up by turning every battle into doubles that forces you to think strategically- also, I just really admire it for not treating the player like a kid. The premise is awesome- you're a rebellious anti hero that just defected from an evil team and stole a device to let you steal pokemon, so you use that as a force of good to take back and heal the poor, abused Shadow Pokémon and teach them to love again. Plus, I love having Umbreon and Espeon as starters and how Orre allowed Johto pokemon to actually shine and exist outside of Kanto's shadow. Fun, unique, challenging- I would KILL for another side game as daring as this to exist again.
I have a bit of a bias towards the battling games- I did enjoy PMD Explorers, Ranger, Pinball, etc, but I think I've just always loved how custom each playthrough of a standard pokemon game felt. No matter how many times I replay, I can usually come up with a team of Pokémon I've never used before- I still keep almost all the Pokémon and teams I've had since... I'd say, I was 10, since Ruby or so. I try to keep them grouped, too, so I can go back and see my team I used in Leaf Green, Black 2 run 1, run 1 of Ultra Sun, etc, and lately I even have space reserved for teams used in DLC. Sort of my own "Oak's Lab" situation, except there's a lot of Samurott swimming around.
I like the gameplay so much that it even got me into fan games like Uranium, Xenoverse, Opalo, Realidea System, Bushido, and I'm keeping track of a bunch more on the horizon. My love for it even brought me to really fun clones like Nexomon Extinction and Coromon- I just love catching and raising monsters, man, and I love turn based games.
I think if I would have an IRL team based on where I grew up and loosely using the games as a basis, I'd have Johtonian Typhlosion as my starter, Corviknight for the crows and other corvids, Tauros for the cows, Mudsdale for the horses, probably a Poliwrath for a water type cuz frogs are everywhere or possibly a Blastoise a family member would hand down, and of course a shiny Umbreon- I have it in the games, and I've always had dogs in my life, so its close enough.
If I had a team solely for battling currently, probably my Shiny Hisuian Samurott, my tera Stellar Ceruledge, Electivire, Dusk Lycanroc, mega Scizor, and Hydreigon.
Anyway, this was just a neat retrospective. Like I said, I do still have a deep love for Pokémon, as much as I wish I could cut ties with it sometimes (and I'm sure as much as my friends wish I'd shut up about it, I'm sure). When I express negativity toward it, it's not from the same place as those guys that think Pokémon should have stopped after gen 1- definitely not, fuck Kanto at this point. No, it's from a place that knows it can do AND HAS done so much better. I'm definitely not afraid of it ending, they're too rich and make too much for that- no, I'm afraid of them never putting in quality care that the franchise DESPERATELY needs ever again simply because they know they could literally sell incomplete builds and people will buy them, and simply because twitter hive minds will jump anyone that take any slight criticism of the World's Richest Franchise (for close to a decade) as a personal affliction upon their honor and religion.
But like I said, I still enjoy it. Happy 28th Pokémon. Please be kinder to us fans. I have so many wonderful memories that I hate have become tainted by bugs and awful business practices, and I want to feel happy to be a fan again.

when the flames are out, hisuian typhlosion looks totally badass, but when they're not visible it just looks stoned, sorry. it looks better than regular typhlosion in my opinion though

Final day of the Pokemon pokedex challenge and it is all time favorite. I drew Typhlosion doing a mixture of attacks (Thunder punch and earthquake with his feet). This was a fun challenge to do, but I'm going to take a break from drawing for a bit. Enjoy!

hq x pokémon: karasuno edition
IN HONOR OF THE FUCKING FANTASTIC NEWS WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH HERE ARE MY HCS ON THE POKEMON HQ CHARACTERS WOULD HAVE IN THEIR TEAM, STARTING WITH THE KARASUNO FIRST YEARS
(notes: first pokemon listed is their main partner, not everyone would be down to have a full team, pls come talk to me if you have any ideas bc i plan on writing for every single team LMAO)
hinata shouyo
rapidash: it was a hard toss-up between arcanine or rapidash for main partner, but rapidash has better speed stats and i imagine most of hinata’s team would be based around that. plus, rapidash is more lean and compact in the way hinata is!! (also the thought of little hinata and ponyta growing together and giving tiny natsu rides, I LOVE IT)
talonflame: i don’t wanna hear shit about talonflame being a Gen 6 pokémon, it’s one of the fastest flying-types that can literally blaze fire in the sky. try looking me in the eye and telling me that it’s not perfect for hinata . . .  you can’t
greninja: i wanted something that could match up to his “ninja shouyo” persona LMAO, and i thought greninja was a perfect fit! it also balances out the two other fire-types on his team. doesn’t understand why kageyama’s typhlosion and tsukki’s sandslash don’t like it or each other
lopunny: type-wise, lopunny isn’t what most would expect for hinata, i think, but it has impressive leg strength and speed stats and could definitely keep up with the others
jolteon: i just think hinata with a jolteon would be badass
muk: hinata “i sprouted from the concrete” shouyo would DEFINITELY love muk, its pokedex entry describes it as gathering where people throw out trash and hinata knows that feeling! sure, it’s the slowest on his team, but that doesn’t matter when it tries so hard!
kageyama tobio
lucario: a pokémon that evolves through FRIENDSHIP??? for KAGEYAMA TOBIO??? it’s more likely than you think! since lucario can read emotions, it probably wouldn’t care how snappy kageyama is on the surface - it knows its trainer means well and stands by him. it would help kageyama to have a partner who doesn’t doubt him in the slightest, and lucario is perfect for that
umbreon: i mostly chose umbreon for the aesthetic LMAO, plus kageyama radiates dark-type vibes
corviknight: tbh idk much about it since i’m not caught up on galar, but i saw fanart of kageyama with one and i thought it fit so well! the pokédex says it “reigns supreme” in the sky, which definitely suits kageyama’s kingly nature
glalie: other than dark-types, i think ice-types are also fitting for kageyama! glalie has a mean face but is a total sweetheart, and kageyama can definitely relate
typhlosion: explosive just like kageyama is, mean and snappy and probably has to be kept in line by lucario LMAO. doesn’t get along with hinata’s greninja or tsukki’s sandslash
mimikyu: kageyama with a mimikyu would melt my heart . . . it’s literally described as a lonely pokémon and kageyama knows loneliness all too well
tsukishima kei:
claydol: since tsukki works in a museum post-timeskip, i thought a pokémon of mysterious history would suit him well, and i can totally see tsukki doing investigative archaeology work with a claydol to help him. has been with him since it was a baltoy, grew up with yamaguchi and hariyama
alolan sandslash: i think the alolan sandslash would really fit tsukki! a prickly pokémon compatible with his prickly personality. probably doesn’t get along with kageyama’s typhlosion or hinata’s greninja. a lot of ruins/historical sites exist in icy terrain in pokémon, so sandslash would be great to have on hand. likes picking fights the most LMAO
carracosta: of course tsukki would possess one of the fossil pokémon. sometimes you need to dive deep, so a water-type turtle pokémon with great defense against any surprise attacks would be a perfect match!
ampharos: its tail is useful for lighting up dark corridors that they have to explore, and ampharos is probably the most enthusiastic about museum work besides claydol. the peacemaker, often keeps the others from arguing
yamaguchi tadashi:
hariyama: you’re probably thinking, “really? this one?” AND YES, THIS ONE. yamaguchi probs raised it as a makuhita. may look huge and scary, but it adores yamaguchi (and tsukki, to an extent). best friends with tsukki’s claydol.
samurott: gets along great with tsukki’s carracosta the most, the perfect sword-and-shield combo (this was the best i could do next to a spear LMAO). yamaguchi probably had it since it was an oshawott considering how fierce samurott is, and oshawaott suits yamaguchi’s first-year anxiousness perfectly
dodrio: okay i don’t even have a reason for this one i just??? feel like it makes a lot of sense you know??? i think yamaguchi and a dodrio would vibe really well, especially if he raised it from a doduo. the most confrontational and meanest on yamaguchi’s team LMAO
gigalith: yamaguchi would have ADORED a little roggenrola, and by the time it becomes a gigalith it’s fully devoted to him. most likely the last to join his team, and is an absolute sweetheart
yachi hitoka:
granbull: yachi feels so safe around her granbull! she’s had it ever since it was a snubbull, so she’s not scared of its appearance the way most people are. gets really defensive when people ask her if granbull is dangerous
masquerain: i LOVE the idea of yachi with a masquerain! it’s very aesthetically pleasing to yachi’s graphic designer eye. it likes hovering around her granbull and using it as a perch
cherrim: that’s it. just. yachi and a cherrim, no explanation needed
