⋆Happy Birthday Ray!!!⋆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's Ray's birthday today (04/30)
I am not able to do much this year b/c I'm pretty busy, but I wanted to take some time to do a little something. So I did a quick painting and a story blurb :3 hope everyone enjoys!
04/29 11:57 pm
"Shouldn't you be asleep?"
The blonde man gives me a questioning look. I look at the tired hero leaning on the kitchen counter. I caught him after he got back from work, fresh out of the shower, towel around his waist, exhaustion written all over his face. He forces it back to give me a small smile.
"Are you having trouble sleeping Star?"
Ray looks around the kitchen, then back at me.
"You seemed to be hard at work in here today."
My eyebrows knit "What? But I thought I cleaned everything up?"
Ray chuckles lightly. "You did, I just have an eye for detail."
11:58 pm
A smirk moves across my face. "Oh do you?"
"Well, yes I do. For one, What are you holding behind your back?"
"It looks to me that you are up to no good."
"Well your eyes must be going bad old man."
Ray's eye gives a little twitch of annoyance.
"'Old man'? You know, if anyone else called me that even accidentally they would apologize to me profusely..."
Ray leans over me studying me with his eyes, smirk across his face.
Ray's voice lowers.
"So what makes you so special huh?"
I lean into Ray.
"I think I can list a few things."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"I'll take a demonstration then. I'm a visual learner you know."
11:59 pm
I break into a smile.
"How about later?"
Ray gives an amused look, leaning back into his original position.
"What? your schedule isn't open on a Monday at midnight?"
I glance at the clock. It was almost time.
"Well it's not just any Monday is it?"
Ray seems confused.
"Wh-?"
12:00 am
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY!!!"
I nearly shout bringing forward the box behind my back.
Before Ray can even respond I bound forward planting a kiss on his cheek. He wraps his arms lightly around me on instinct, looking down at me his face utterly shocked.
I bring the box forward.
"You can probably already guess what this, 'eye for detail' and all~"
Ray's arms fall from my side as he takes the box in his hands.
He opens it to reveal a small cake, with admittedly less than beautiful craftsmanship.
"I thought, since cooking is your hobby, maybe you would like it if I made you a cake..."
"It kind of fell apart though... and didn't really turn out the way I wanted..." Ray looks back up at me, his eyebrows are knit as a sea of emotion runs behind his eyes.
"Maybe I should have just bought-"
Before I can finish the statement Ray places down the cake, taking my face into both of his hands and kissing me deeply.
His thanks and feelings that he was unable to vocalize he instead pushed through his lips into my own. His hands trembled just a bit against my skin.
Ray eventually pulls back and he looks into my face, giving a lovely bright smile, free from any of the exhaustions from earlier in the night. He whispers to me as he plants small kisses everywhere along my face.
"I can't believe you forgot your own-"
"Have I told you that I love you?"
"Yes, many times."
"I love you."
"Yes, I know."
"I don't think there is anything in this universe that can truly convey how much you mean to me."
I smile "I know Ray. You don't have to say it."
"I just don't know what to do to express it."
"You don't have to do anything Ray."
"But that doesn't feel like enough, nothing will ever feel like enough."
"I love you so much."
Ray nuzzles his face into the crevasse of my neck.
"Ugh, I'm going crazy... You're making me go crazy. This is all your fault." I laugh at Ray's out of character antics.
"Well wait to say all that until after you try the cake."
Ray chuckles against my neck giving it a short kiss before pulling away from me.
Ray grabs two forks.
"So... should I put poison control on speed dial first?"
I lightly hit Ray on the arm.
"I hope it takes you out."
"Oh no Star, don't say that, you aren't cut out for a life of villainy."
Ray winks at me.
He leans forward and down closer to my eye level, staring at me.
"What?"
"So are you going to hand feed me?"
"Okay."
Ray looks a little shocked.
"You didn't think I was going to say yes did you?"
"You just wanted to tease me didn't you."
"You evil old man."
Ray smirks, leaning down and closer. He opens his mouth.
I grab a piece of the cake, bringing it slowly to his mouth. Ray's finger's entwine my wrist, steading it as he leads the bite into his mouth. Frosting smears his lower lip as his lips enclose the fork and it pulls out.
Ray chews and swallows the cake. By the time I realize my wrist is still in his hand, he already has me pinned between the counter and his body. He kisses me deeply, licking the frosting off of my lip.
"You make a better cake than you think star."
"And it tastes even better on you."
His eyes darken.
"Now how about that demonstration?~"

addilyn richardson,
had been absolutely grinding out this science project. she and matt had been working together a little more than a week, and were currently five days away from its due date. not only did they have to create the marble run, but they had to also complete a five page packet along with it, and present their project together in front of the class. addilyn was sitting across from matt, hunched over her worksheet as matt glued pieces of the project together.
“it’s getting kind of late, addy, why don’t we pick up tomorrow?” matt suggested to her. she looked up at him with tired eyes. since that one weird night the previous week, matt had starting acting nicer. at first it started with matt inviting addilyn out to lunch after the hockey game. then he started saying hi to her in science. the absolute cherry on top was when he offered her a ride yesterday morning.
addilyn walked outside, instantly being met with the brisk morning air. boston winters were hardcore, and the heavy wind was only making it worse. wrapping her coat around her frame tighter, addilyn braced herself for the walk up the block to wait for the bus. she walked down the driveway, stopping when she heard her name being called. she looked up as matt walked over to her. he was bundled up in a north face jacket, a pink tint across his cheeks and nose as he shivered.
“it’s too cold for you to walk addy, let me give you a ride.” that was the first time he called her addy. at first, he wouldn’t even call her by her name, only saying things like “tell her to do this” to his brothers if they were around. if they weren’t, then he’d call her addilyn, saying it always with an annoyed tone. but today he called her by her nickname, and it made her heart skip a beat. he offered her a soft smile and she returned it, nodding quickly. she climbed into the back seat next to nick, chatting with him the whole way to school.
she looked over at the clock the sat above the stove. it was 9:45, but she was determined to get more of this assignment done. she only lived next door, after all, and she needed to make sure they got a perfect score on their project. “i’m okay matt, i think i just need a quick break.”
he nodded, offering her a water, and let her excuse herself to go into nick’s room. nick was sat atop his bed, scrolling on his phone when she walked in.
“hey girl,” he smiled at her, “how’s it going out there?”
“okay, i think.” she yawned, stretching her arms and legs out. they’d been working since they got home from school, only taking a short break a few hours ago when chris came barging into the kitchen, asking matt to drive him to get food. “i’m a little tired, though.”
“yeah it’s late, you leaving soon?” nick asked.
addilyn shrugged. “we still have more we need to do. i’m okay going home a little late. the walk isn’t far.”
nick laughed. “why don’t you come sit? we can take a break and watch a quick episode of rupaul or something.”
the tired girl nodded, sitting down next to nick. he got up momentarily to switch off his overhead lights, turning on the soft fairy lights above his bed instead. he climbed back into his bed next to addilyn, turning on the t.v. at a low volume. the change in ambiance of nick’s bedroom made addilyn all-the-more tired, and she rested his head onto his shoulder.
resting my eyes for five minutes won’t hurt, right? she thought as she closed her eyes.
*₊˚ 𓂃✧
both addilyn and nick jolted awake about an hour later to the sound of matt pounding on the door. he’d gone on his phone when addilyn was in nick’s room, not noticing how much time had gone by until chris came down to say goodnight.
addilyn sat up, shaking nick to also get up, and walked over to the door to let matt in. she took in the sight in front of her. his hair was messy, as per usual, and he’d switched out his pair of blue jeans from earlier to a pair of red and black plaid pajama pants. he wore a grey hoodie with his school’s logo on the front, a number 4 on the side of his sleeve underneath his last name. he looked good. “sorry,” he apologized quickly, realizing how loud his knocking was.
“what time is it?” they both heard nick call out from the bed, sitting up to turn off the show they fell asleep watching.
“almost 11:30,” matt replied, looking at nick. he turned back to addilyn “i packed all your stuff up, i didn’t think you’d wanna get back to work.”
she smiled, thanking him for the gesture, as she felt a knot in her stomach. she’d been feeling that a lot around matt lately and she didn’t know why. maybe it was because he was acting nice. or maybe it’s because in the week she’s spent with him, she’d realized she was maybe starting to catch feelings.
it was a monday night, and addilyn was over at matt’s to work on the project. he was wearing a navy blue hoodie that made his eyes look even more blue, and he was currently laughing at an anecdote addilyn was telling him. she smiled brightly at him, laughing along with the boy.
he took a few deep breaths, trying to calm down, immediately breaking out into laughter again as he looked up and met her eyes.
his laugh is so cute, she thought. she looked down at her lap away from matt, trying to push her thoughts into the back of her head.
“you’re really funny, addilyn,” matt told her softly, wiping tears from his eyes. she looked over to him to find him already staring at her.
she looked at his face, trying to read it. she wasn’t the type to normally confuse niceness with having a crush on someone, but something with matt felt different. when nick or chris talked to her, she didn’t get dizzy when they would smile at her, or accidentally brush hands. but she felt it all with matt.
“what are you looking at?” he smiled, leaning forward across the table slightly as his eyes flicked between both of hers. she could’ve sworn he glanced at her lips.
addilyn was feeling bold. “you.” she replied.
he shook his head, smiling softly, and then leaning back against his chair. “we should get back to work.”
“addy,” nick said from his bed, breaking addilyn away from her thoughts. she blinked up at matt as he smiled down at her.
there’s that feeling again.
“do you wanna spend the night? i know you only live next door but i feel bad making you walk back over so late.” nick asked her, walking over to where she was.
“are you sure?” she breathed, “i feel bad.”
“don’t,” nick replied, “i have pajama bottoms and a hoodie you can wear. it’s no problem really.” he smiled kindly at her. she broke her gaze away from matt, looking to nick.
“okay,” she nodded, “i’ll let my mom know.”
addilyn turned back to look at matt. “i’ll go get you your backpack and stuff,” he told her softly, “wait here.”
“i got it, don’t worry.” she told him, brushing past him in the door way as he looked at her go. she heard footsteps trailing behind her. she turned around to find matt following her into the kitchen.
“i need to get my stuff too.” he told her. she nodded softly, trying to keep her cool and act normal.
they made their way to the table, matt collecting all of his belonging he left out on the table. addilyn’s notes and books were all packed away neatly in her bag, which matt had left on the chair for her. she offered to help matt clean, but he just smiled at her.
“i can do it, you go to bed, you worked too hard today.” he laughed, handing her bag to her. his fingers brushed against hers, lingering there for just a second. she felt her cheeks heat up as she took the bag. she looked down at her feet, knowing for sure her face was a bright crimson color. suddenly the room in the air felt thick, and she became hyper aware of matt’s presence in front of her. was he standing this close the entire time? she looked up at him, to find him already looking at her.
“goodnight matt.” she whispered, afraid if she spoke any louder it would break the atmosphere around them. he was standing so close to her, she wondered if he was able to hear her heart beating out of her chest. a smile ghosted across his face, and for half of a second addilyn thought he would lean down and kiss her.
he didn’t, though, only softly replying “goodnight addy.”
she turned on her heel, making her way back into nicks room quickly. she found a pair of fuzzy pajama bottoms and a large hoodie folded neatly on nick’s bed, where he was sat. “you can go change in the bathroom, i left a spare toothbrush in there for you too.”
she thanked him, collecting the clothes and walking into the bathroom. she changed quickly, then paused to look at herself in the mirror as she began brushing her teeth. did matt even like her, or was he only acting this way because she was friends with his brothers? that had to have been the reason. there was no way he felt the same about her. but she couldn't help but think about the way he was looking at her in the kitchen, and how his hand lingered over hers. she sighed, turning off the water and going back into nick’s room. he was already under the blankets, lights off, and scrolling on his phone. he turned it off, turning to face her as addilyn got into the bed.
“our first sleepover,” nick sang, “this is so fun!”
addilyn laughed, making herself comfortable. she loved being friends with nick. they’d only been hanging out for less than two weeks, but they both connected so easily with one another. they both understood one another, and enjoyed the company of each other. nick loved having someone other than his brothers or his teammates to talk to, and addilyn just loved having someone to talk to. “i know.”
despite how tired the girl was when she entered the room, the two teenagers were suddenly wide awake, talking about anything and everything with one another.
“if you had to fight any animal with your bare hands, what would you fight?” nick asked, staring at the ceiling.
“what?” addilyn laughed, looking over at him.
the later and later it got, the more and more they opened up. it was currently 1:30 in the morning, and they were both deep in conversation about nick’s coming out.
“i can’t believe i thought i liked my friend when it was really her boyfriend i liked.” nick told her.
addilyn shook her head. “yeah, that’s kinda crazy.”
“have you ever liked one of your friends?” nick asked, sitting up slightly. she looked up at him, thinking.
she hadn’t had many friends her whole life. she had a couple close people that she’d talk to in class, but never close enough to ever hang out with or talk to outside of school. the only people she talked to outside of school were nick and chris. her mind suddenly went to matt. “i don’t think i have.”
“really?” nick asked her in disbelief. “you’ve never thought someone you hung out with was cute or anything?”
matt.
“no.”
“addy, come on, there’s no way.” nick sighed, laying back down.
“well, maybe.” she felt her voice trail off. she couldn’t tell nick. she wasn’t even sure for herself if she liked matt or if she was just confused. he and chris were the closest thing addilyn had to real friends, and she didn’t want to throw it all away by telling nick she caught feelings for his brother.
“oh my god, tell me!” nick whisper-shouted in excitement, sitting back up again. addilyn laughed and shook her head.
“okay, okay, let me guess.” nick offered, thinking about the boys in the classes they shared together. “david, from art?” addilyn shook her had no.
“liam?” he tried again. she shook her head once more. nick named just about every boy in their class, even began to name random people addilyn didn’t even know that well.
“do i know him?” nick asked.
“yeah,” she breathed quietly.
nick looked at her inquisitively. “it’s not chris, is it?”
“no, no way.” addilyn shook her head. “he’s just my friend, i promise.”
nick looked at her once more, as if he looked hard enough he'd be able to read her mind. he paused, silence falling over the both of them.
his eyes went wide. “matt?”
addilyn stayed quiet. she opened her mouth, then closed it. she couldn’t bring herself to say it out loud.
“addy,” nick said, “do you like matt?”
“i don’t know.” she whispered, turning away from him. he sat up to meet her eyes. “maybe.” he gave her a look once more. “yes.”
she braced herself for the anger. the disappointment. something. but nick just smiled at her. “that’s so exciting!”
she looked at him dumbfounded. “what?”
“i’m serious,” nick started, “you’re so fun to be around, there’s no way he doesn’t like you back. i’ve noticed he’s been acting nicer to you.”
addilyn continued looking at nick like he was crazy. “there’s no way.” she laughed, pulling the covers over herself. “i’m tired, nick, i’m going to bed.”
he laughed, wishing her a goodnight, assuring her once again he didn’t care if she liked his brother, and that he was happy for her. soon after, she heard his soft snores, singling he was asleep. addilyn, however, continued to lay awake, thinking about what she told nick. she couldn’t believe herself, normally she would keep her feelings in, but something in her was off. she wasn’t even sure why she liked matt so much. she barely even knew him, and he didn’t start acting nice to her until a week into their project. it was a small crush, it meant nothing. it wasn’t worth risking her friendship for. she suddenly felt her chest tighten and the instant feeling like she couldn’t breathe. she closed her eyes as the air around her grew thick.
you’re fine. she told herself. nick isn’t mad. you can tell him tomorrow you were kidding. everything will be normal again after the project is done.
she glanced over at nick, making sure he was asleep before she slipped out of bed. she couldn’t lay in her friend's room any longer knowing matt was only down the hall. she softly tore a piece of paper, writing nick a quick note, praying he wouldn’t wake in the middle of the night, and would only see it when he woke up in the morning.
went home to shower and change before school, see you in art!
<3 addy
*₊˚ 𓂃✧
matthew sturniolo,
slept for maybe three hours that night. he couldn’t sleep in his room knowing addilyn was only down the hall. he kept replaying the way their hands brushed as he gave her the backpack earlier.
he felt his fingers lightly graze hers as he passed her the bag. he let them linger for a moment, hoping she wouldn’t notice. she looked down at her feet quickly, taking the bag from matt. their bodies were nearly pressed up against one another. all he wanted was for her to look at him. as if she read his mind, she looked up with a shy smile across her crimson red face. he so badly wanted to close the small gap between them and smash his lips against hers. he didn’t though, only whispering a soft goodnight as he watch her go into nicks room.
he hadn’t stopped thinking of her since his dream. he was obsessed with everything she did. the way she’d twirl her pencil between her pointer and thumb, or the way her brows furrowed as she read. he kept trying to distract himself as he thought about her.
matt had known who she was for a long time, despite addilyn being an “always in the background” kind of person. but the second she stepped foot in his kitchen that day she came over for dinner with her family, he knew it was over.
matt was in the kitchen with chris and nick, arguing about something dumb when she got there. he opened his mouth to say something back to chris, when nick nudged him altering him they had company. matt looked up at addilyn as she stood shyly in the kitchen. chris walked over to introduce himself as matt just started at her. she wore a white cotton dress that hugged her in all the right places, and beat up white chuck taylor’s. matt knew exactly who she was, but he didn’t remember her always looking this pretty.
“i’m chris,” his brother said, sticking out his hand.
she replied to him so softly matt barely heard her. “addilyn.” her voice sounded like honey. matt just looked at her again, before deciding to open his mouth and say “i can’t hear her.”
as matt laid in bed, he stared out his window into her empty bedroom thinking about why he was so mean to her. maybe it was because he liked her the whole time and didn’t want to admit it. sure, she was beautiful, but she wasn’t the kind of girl matt would typically go for. that’s why he was so attracted to her. she was so unlike anyone he’d been with. any girl he’s ever met at a party had been the same. they all seemed to have had the same lives, matt would listen to them talk, then he would tell about himself. that he’s a triplet and he plays hockey and lacrosse with his brothers. that he’s lived in boston his whole life and he loved the outdoors. and that’s how it went every time.
addilyn was different. she didn’t care he was popular, or that he played sports. she was just her normal, quiet, typical self. she wasn’t throwing herself at him, and matt saw her as somewhat unattainable. matt often mistook his attraction to her for a disliking. he felt so guilty about it, but he thought if he was mean, she’d leave him alone and wouldn’t try to get with him. he mentally cursed himself for acting the way he does. if she was already out of his reach, why would he try to drive her even further away?
but that dream he had fucked him up bad. every night since then, he’s thought about it. how soft her hands felt in his, how delicate her voice spoke. how good she kissed him. he wondered if she’d ever kissed a boy before. he secretly hoped she hadn’t, he wanted to be her first. he’d be gentle with her, not rushing her into anything. he’s kissed girls before, but it was always drunk at some party. he never actually liked the girls he kissed, he just wanted them in the moment. and when the moment was over, he went back to his friends and did whatever he was doing before. but addilyn was different, he wanted to kiss her anywhere he could, not just while he was drinking at some random's party.
the light in addilyn’s room turned on, snapping matt out of his daydream. he saw her walk into her room wearing nicks pajamas, walking over to her blinds to close them. he was confused why she walked home, but let it slip his mind. although he knew she couldn’t see him that well, he pretended to sleep anyway knowing she would look into his room. had he not closed his eyes, he would’ve seen the lingering look addilyn gave into his room before she closed her blinds.

baby mama - k.m
Tumblr media
☺︎ kate martin ☺︎ ☺︎ part one ☺︎
finding out you're pregnant Dani and Kate were on a lunch date when Dani got the call. "Hold on babe" Dani excused herself from the table and walked to the family restroom, entering and locking the door behind her. "Hey, Dr. Anderson! I'm doing great, you?"
Dani was trying to push past the small part to get the actual reason why they called. "I am sure you know why we called... the IVF treatment finally worked" Dani was in shock. It has taken multiple treatments for this to actually work.
Dani went through multiple mental troubles thinking that she couldn't give Kate the family she wanted. On the other hand, Kate hated how much these treatments affected Dani, so they had decided that if it didn't work one last time they were going to adopt.
"Danielle? Are you okay?" Dr. Anderson worried over the phone. "Yes. Oh my gosh. Thank you so much for everything." Dani wiped her tears off her face ending the phone call. Dani took some time to get herself together.
"You okay? You were gone for awhile" Kate asked seeing the look on her wife's face. "Yes baby, I am good" Dani leaned over the table giving Kate a quick kiss. "I love you" Dani smiled squeezing Kate's hand.
telling kate you're pregnant "Baby! I'm home!" Kate yelled placing her keys on the counter. "Hey sexy" Dani smirked kissing her wife's softly. "I missed you today" Kate stretched out letting her weight fall on Dani. "You can't be tired. I have a surprise for you" Dani smiled up at her.
"What is it?" Kate questioned looking around the house. Dani grabbed her arm pulling her onto the living room couch. "Cover your eyes" Kate smiled placing her hands over her eyes. Dani ran to their room grabbing two boxes.
"Open your eyes"
"Baby what is all this?"
"Open them. I can't wait any longer" Dani replied hiding her smile. Kate looked at her giddy wife and opened the smaller box. She shook the box thinking it was empty since it was so light. She opened the box seeing fairy lights surrounding a note. "Baby" Kate pouted already about to cry.
"No, no don't cry please" Dani frowned sitting beside her wife. Kate fanned her eyes with the card laughing. "I love you so much" Dani said letting a tear fall. Kate saw the short sentence and looked at her wife.
BABY MARTIN 2024
"You're lying. Please don't play with me" Kate laughed wrapping her arms around Dani. "Open the other box, there's more" Dani laughed leaning her head against her shoulder. Kate quickly opened the box seeing two more of the same note with three pregnancy test in the box.
"I'm confused?" Kate looked at her wife. "Three babies in my belly" Dani smiled pointing at her stomach. Kate rested her elbows on her knees with her hands on her face. "Baby" Dani placed kisses on Kate's head and rubbed her back.
"I love you" Kate muttered kneeling in front of Dani. She placed soft kisses onto her belly.
"We love you so much more"
three heartbeats "How does it feel to be mommies," Dr. Anderson asked the happy couple. "Tiring already" Dani laughed rubbing her growing belly. "I love it. I can't wait for them to be here" Kate smiled squeezing Dani's hand.
"Today we are going to look at each baby and hear all three of their heartbeats" Dr. Anderson placed the ultrasound gel onto Dani's stomach. "You mommies ready?" Kate and Dani both nodded smiling. The room filled with loud beating. "That's baby A, they're the ones sitting on your bladder" Kate wiped hers and Dani's tears once they started pouring.
"Here's baby B. They are flipping you off right now. They don't like being woken up" Dr. Anderson laughed seeing the angry baby. "Reminds me of someone I know" Kate spoke side eyeing Dani. "Shut up" Dani quietly laughed wiping her face.
"Here baby C. The quiet one. Sweet angel face" Dr. Anderson let their heartbeat play before cleaning Dani off. "Thank you, Dr. Anderson" Kate smiled at the lady before looking at her wife. "I can't believe we are having three babies" Dani leaned back dramatically.
"Praying baby b doesn't have that much sass like you do" Kate smirked dodging a soft nudge from her wife. "I'm not sassy. Now let's go get some Olive Garden" Dani smirked giving Kate a kiss.

Smoke from Canada
Please stay inside if you are sensitive to smoke
check your area for air quality:
PLEASE REBLOG AND SHARE MORE TIPS
I’m actively updating as of Wednesday Jun 7, 2023. Please check your local news stations and weather apps for information on your area.
Outside
If you have to go outside please wear a mask, have lots of sunscreen and drink water when available/needed. Stay in shade when walking. Wear light colors outside, avoid dark colors. Cloth Masks are cool but paint/filter masks are your best friend. If you have a inhaler just bring it with you everywhere! Inside
When inside don’t open windows and keep curtain closed to expel heat. Sandwiches and fruit are your friend. Cooking is far too hot. If you are about to run out of water fill tub with cold water and pray you have a good drain. Basements are your friend. DRINK WATER NOT SODA OR SPORTS DRINKS! Don’t use drier, use a clothes line if possible
Extra
if you are looking for shelter, Public libraries, coffee shops, grocery stores, anywhere thats air conditioned. Take anything you need but be SAFE
Did I mention water? Gatorade is fun but don’t drink caffeine.
If there’s no smoke in your area and you just need to cool down, open your window at night/early morning
|| Take it easy. No, easier than that. Aside from the mental toll the smoke and horrible weird light and the creepy red sun and the burning smell take on you, your body is just working way harder to do everything it normally does. You will be exhausted, you will be distracted, you will have headaches and you will struggle with basic tasks like "walking up stairs." Do not try to power through it. Cancel plans, reschedule appointments, do fewer errands or consolidate them into one trip.
Treat yourself like you have a cold. Plenty of fluids, stopping when you're tired, cough drops and eye drops for the painful throat and eyes, inhalers if you have one.
Spend as little time outside as you possibly can. This includes your pets. Do not open your windows, do not open your screen door, do not run your AC (this is where some of the above advice for hot weather will come in handy.)
If you have to go outside, wear an N95 or KN95 mask. Make sure it's well-fitted around your face. You're not trying to keep out the smoke, but the PM2.5 (particulate matter 2.5 microns or smaller.) That's the stuff that causes cancer. If you have a fan with a HEPA filter, blast it all the time. If you don't have one go look at diy air filter link below, ask a mutual aid center if you cannot come into contact with these materials. || These tips are from them, a few links below are from them too so go give them some love. https://www.tumblr.com/salteywater

They didn't even notice he was gone the first four days. The first day was a Friday, everyone was everywhere, rushing to get shit done to enjoy their weekend. Next two days were the weekend and the group was scattered. Sure, a couple of them were in the Hard Deck, but it wasn't unusual for Hangman to miss out for a while. Heck, one of them could have sworn they saw Hangman leaving the bar, a lady charmed by his side. The fourth day was the same as the first, everyone was busy, the group didn't really have a reason for all of them to be together.
The fifth day had a scheduled lecture with Mav, followed by a hop.
Phoenix arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled lecture, eyes scanning the empty classroom, before her lips tugged into a smug smile. She beat Hangman and Rooster, today.
Rooster followed suite, plopping down on Phoenix's left.
Harvard and Yale came next, then Bob, Coyote, Fritz, Halo, Fanboy and Payback, Omaha.
Then Mav.
"Good morning, aviators, this is your captain speaking!" Mav said cheerily, sauntering in the room to set down his files at the desk.
Phoenix narrowed her eyes at the empty desk.
Late. The man is probably just late.
Hangman was never late. In reality, the man never let anyone hanging. Not for all the years Phoenix knew the man.
Navy's Golden Boy, Hangman, the perfect officer.
"Anyone know where Hangman is?" Mav said nodding his head at the empty desk.
The classroom was silent.
"Coyote?" Mav prompted.
"I don't know, sir, we messaged yesterday, but I haven't heard from him today," Coyote said, uneasily.
"Well," Mav said, pausing, "I guess he's late for the first time, I'll give him a pass as long as he shows up by the time for hops. But, I will put him to the same standard as all of you, so he'll just have to learn on the fly what you will be discussing here." Mav said giving a grin.
"He wouldn't want anything less, sir," Coyote said easily and Phoenix nodded at that.
The lecture continued, but all throughout, Phoenix noticed everyone (including herself) glance at the door every now and then. Mav, more often the others, given by the way he'd frown at the door, then scrunch his forehead at the clock above it. Coyote was discretely typing quickly at his phone whenever Mav turned towards the board. Rooster's moustache was twitching more than usual.
"Okay, guys, suit up, the groups are listed on the board, group A will go first, Coyote, if Hangman doesn't come you'll substitute for him in group C," Mav said, nodding at them before he left the classroom, and whipped out his phone.
---
When they were going to their jets, Mav told Coyote that he was going up with both groups B & C.
---
The hop ended and still no Hangman in sight.

---
Coyote and Mav both arrived in front of Hangman's apartment at the same time, they stared at each other awkwardly.
"Great, I was worried I was going to be overstepping, but with you here, I can just say I was tagging along with you," Mav said brightly as he clapped Coyote in the back.
Coyote snorted, "Sure, Mav," he said as he turned back towards the door and knocked loudly. "JAKEY, WAKEY WAKEY, I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE, BUDDY!"
"Jesus, kid, didn't expect you to that set of lungs in you," Mav muttered.
They waited a few seconds, not hearing any response. Coyote knocked again before shrugging and pulling out a key and used it to open the door.
Mav didn't question it.
Pretty small apartment. Empty. Bare. Kitchen on one side, living room on the other. A small table was right beside the door, Jake's car keys, wallet, and a picture of two young midshipmen, laughing together. A door at the end of the small room, Coyote went to one of them and knocked loudly, once again.
"Jake!" Coyote shouted before twisting the door knob, letting out an exclamation of surprise when it twisted open and forward. Coyote dashed into the room, "Jake!?"
Mav immediately set down the plastic bag of food he brought in the kitchen counter before going inside the room after Coyote. He saw Coyote already sitting at the edge of a bed, fuzzing on a half-awake Hangman, burritoed up in blankets, messy hair, blinking slowly as Coyote cupped a palm on his forehead.
" 'Avy?" Hangman croaked out, voice sounding like glass.
"Good morning to you, buddy, how long have you been feeling sick?"
Hangman took a deep breath to answer, and Mav winced in sympathy noticing how the boy had a hard time breathing and was sniffling hard, as if he was congested. Very congested.
"Here, kiddo, blow your nose, first," Mav said handing Jake the box of tissues from the bedside table.
Jake slowly propped himself up on the headboard and blew, hard. But his congested sniffles still remained after a whole minute of mucus ejection.
Jake blushed as he looked at both Mav and Javy then looked down at his lap, "Sorry."
"Nothing to apologize for, except for not telling me how long you've been sick, how long has this been going on?" Javy said, collecting the used tissues and quickly disposing them.
Jake furrowed his brow, "Dunno, headache Friday, then slowly got worst, was the worst today, thought I'd be better by today, swear," Jake muttered.
"Okay, kid, where's your thermometer? Did you drink something?"
"Don't have a thermometer, drank some day cold/flu pill things, didn't know they made day and night pills," Jake said flopping back down in bed.
"Did you eat?" Javy asked.
"Don't want to, not hungry," Jake said, turning away from them in bed.
"Well you got to, buddy, I brought some soup, Ice made, it's some bone broth," Mav said laying a gentle hand on Jake's shoulder trying to coax him to turn back.
"No, tired," Jake whined.
"Jacob, come on, dude, you gotta eat," Javy said rolling his eyes.
"Javy," Mav said evenly, "Why don't you heat up the broth, I'll take care of him here in the meantime, just microwave it."
"Okay, Mav, you deal with grumpy over here," Javy said patting Jake's head before leaving, easily dodging a clumsy swat that headed his way.
Mav chuckled at his boys before moving closer to Jake, "Okay, Jake, you have to sit up, don't know how you can breathe, lying straight down."
"It's not comfy sitting up," Jake muttered.
"You'll be able to breathe, and I'll make it comfy, buddy, just wait a bit." Mav said dashing to the living room to grab some couch cushions. "Okay, buddy, help me out here, just get up for a bit."
Jake grumbled, but complied, slowly sitting up, and Mav immediately placed the cushion behind the boy, helping him settle in and tucking the blanket back up high on his shoulders. Mav placed the back of his hand on the boy's cheek, frowning at the heat emanating from it.
"Where's your bathroom, buddy?" Mav asked and Jake pointed at the door across the bed.
Mav quickly went inside, and found a small, clean, towel which he immediately drenched with cool water, and wringed it out. He sat back down on the edge of the bed, where Jake was staring back at him, eyes half-closed.
"Just need to cool you off a bit, okay?" Mav smiled gently running a hand through Jake's hair and Jake nodded a bit.
Mav started gently wiping Jake's face with the damp towel, continuing down to his neck, leaving the towel to rest there. Mav ran a hand through Jake's hair and kept at it before Javy came in 5 seconds later with the soup.
"Food's here, buddy," Mav said, scooting beside Jake, to help prop him up more, with an arm behind the boy's shoulders.
Javy went to Jake's other side and held up a spoonful of soup to Jake's lips, quieting Jake's potential protests with a raised brow. Jake grumbled as he sipped the broth, resting his head on Mav's shoulder every now and then. Javy feeding Jake a spoonful of broth at a time until the bowl was empty.
"Want some more, buddy?" Javy asked, and Jake shook his head no, hiding his face in Mav's shoulder, making Mav chuckle and run a hand through the back of the boy's hair.
"How about a water to wash it all down, then, son?" Mav asked as Javy handed him a water bottle, already cracked open for his brother.
Jake looked up, as Mav brought the bottle up to his lips, making sure that Jake won't choke as he drank his fill, before turning his head away indicating that he was done. Resting his head back on Mav's shoulder, eyes closed.
Mav looked up to see Javy frowning in concern, his forehead scrunched up in worry.
"He'll be okay, Javy," Mav said evenly.
"He didn't tell me," Javy muttered.
"Stubborn." Mav said beckoning Javy to come closer. "But he was able to let his walls down because of you."
Javy walked over to Mav's other side, where Mav immediately tugged Javy down, making Javy yelp as he bent over as Mav hooked his other arm around Javy's shoulders to bring the boy down to kiss him in the temple. Letting him go to stand up straight, but not letting go of his hand.
Mav smiled up at the boy's shocked expression, "You're a good big brother, son." Enjoying as Javy's faced flushed.
---
Mav bundles both of them back to his and Iceman's house for some (a lot of) TLC.
Phoenix visits Hangman's apartment after they left, calling Javy in worry as Hangman isn't answering the door. Driving quickly to Mav's house once she found out where they were.
Most of the Dagger Squad visits.
Jake is back in the air in a few days.

midday naps for lovers
diluc ragnvindr x reader with no pronouns used
tooth rotting fluff all b/c i'm real sleepy today and just need to be held by the loml
Tumblr media
despite his normally heavy boots dilucs footsteps were quiet against the hardwood as he made his way to the study, yellow rays of afternoon light coming in through the windows, reflecting the shine of the flooring that the maids kept up on so well, guiding his way. it was just as your own light had so often led him to your side, a beckoning call in the darkness that he had lived in until you led him to a brighter place within your embrace.
he knew what to expect when he saw the door ajar, no noise coming from within even though you had undoubtedly been cooped up between the four walls of the study since this morning. it wasn’t unlike you to nap during the day and he had grown so fond of finding you resting within the safety of the manor but that still did not prepare him for how his chest would swell at the sight that lay before him as he pushed the door open and your sweet scent paired with the parchment you’d been working on wrapped around him like a cashmere scarf.
there you were, resting and unaware of the happenings around you. your head laid peacefully on your folded arms, your back rising and falling with each deep breath you took; serene and lovely, just as he hoped you would always be within the placr you two called your home. the paperwork you’d been working on the last several days was left to warm under every breath slipping past your parted lips and diluc found himself envious, wishing it was any part of his being that got to capture each exhale and the love it would undoubtedly spread within him.
burning ruby eyes never leave your sleeping figure as he closes the distance, a fond smile lifting up the corners of his lips more and more the closer he gets to the person he loves most in this world. your deep breaths draw him to your lips, soft and familiar and forming into a sleepy smile of their own when he touches your face, the cool leather of his gloves brushing against your skin so gently as he caresses down your cheek and under your jaw, taking you in. it wasn’t his wish to disturb you or wake you but, as it often was, he was unable to hold back and when you reciprocated in kind, leaning into his touch with a murmur of his name, he let his love overflow.
with quiet movements he shed his coat and draped it over you, feeling the heat that creeps up his cheeks at the sight of it engulfing your smaller frame, resting so easily on your back and shoulders as if it were made to protect you and keep you warm. and to diluc; for everything that belonged to him, everything that he was and is and ever would be, that was certainly the truth of how he saw it all.
in the boundless strength he had when it came to you, it was easy to lift you from the chair and cradle you in his arms, your own instinctively reaching out for support at the loss of the sturdy desk holding you up. they found their way to his chest, your tired fingers gripping onto the familiar fabric of his vest.
“i’ve got you,” he coos, quiet and soft. the warmth of his breath seeping into your skin at the proximity of his lips to your forehead.
diluc isn’t a man who has thought much about making it to celestia, not with the blood staining his hands and the darkness that looms over him like a thick cloud or the choices he’d continue to make for the sake of those he loves, but in this moment, with you curled up in his arms and snuggling closer to his chest as he makes his way to sofa in the study, he can’t help but think that this is his own form of heaven that celestia couldn’t hope to rival.
“‘luc?” you whisper, your voice laced with the sleep you continue to fall in and out of.
“hm?”
“stay with me a little longer?”
“you needn’t worry,” he assures you in a hushed tone, the lovestruck smile he wears laced in every word. “just rest, i’m not going anywhere my love. i promise.”
like a dance you’d swayed to side by side your whole life, your bodies move in sync when he rests on the couch with his back against the armrest and you between his legs. it didn’t take long for him to find a comfortable position despite the fact that his long legs don't quite fit the length of the sofa but with your weight on top of him, your ear resting right against his beating heart, the dark fabric of his jacket still resting over you and his arms around you keeping it there, it’s only a few moments before his tired body relaxes and melts with your own, dragging him into a peaceful midday slumber.

hello!!!! can i request a mini fic fluff ellie helps the reader with her swamped homeworks
| a/n : wrote this in my free time instead of.... you guessed it, doing homework. thank u for requesting <3 this is kinda short n sweet but i hope it will be enjoyed <3 this is dedicated to you anon, and everyone else who is absolutely overwhelmed w class
| c/w : self deprecating talk? kinda but not super serious. established relationship, ellie being a cute gf ): fluff central. kinda elle-coded 'cause reader cries
too soft for all of it - ellie williams
it took you a few seconds longer than usual to notice your phone ringing. you blinked heavily, tearing your eyes away from your bright laptop screen.
“hello?” you finally answered, stifling a yawn.
“babe, the fourth ring? you’re seriously giving me forth ring treatment?” ellie’s voice was a welcomed change in place of the lectures you had been listening to all day.
"sorry els," you muttered halfheartedly. you glanced at your planner, frowning. you had been working at this assignment for hours, at this rate you were behind schedule.
"what's wrong?" ellie asked, her voice softer.
"nothing," you sniffed. "just school. tired."
"are we still hanging out today?" ellie asked, eyebrows furrowed in concern. you hadn't texted her for a couple hours, ellie's first indication that something was wrong.
at her question, an irritating lump began to form at the back of your throat. you were supposed to hang out with your girlfriend today. you were also supposed to catch up on your assignments- it had been an extra busy week and you felt as though you were barely holding on. you had mapped out your week, organized which assignments you were going to complete on which day. however, some things were much harder than you had expected and your brain decided to feel blue this week instead of motivated.
not completing homework meant not seeing ellie, which was undoubtedly your final straw.
"i can't," you choked out, immediately drawing more concern from ellie. "i'm so busy ellie, and i've barely got anything done-"
"hey, it's okay," ellie soothed, automatically in girlfriend mode.
"it's NOT," you groaned, causing ellie to grimace. she felt bad listening to you on the phone, not being able to handle the sound of your voice breaking. "i haven't even started my essay yet, and i have three exams to study for, THREE ellie williams, three!"
ellie held back a laugh, clearing her throat before responding. "i know babe, i'm really sorry. is there anything i can do?"
you shook your head despite being on the phone. ellie heard rustling as you switched your phone to your opposite ear, turning your attention back to your laptop. "i can't do this anymore," you mumbled.
"yes you can, you're gonna get through it," ellie murmured, listening carefully to your uneven breathing.
"i have to drop out of school," you told ellie, rubbing your eye and trying to force the tears away.
"no," ellie disagreed. she felt bad, knowing how much you were struggling. the pain in your voice was enough to make ellie want to do anything and everything for you, but she couldn't help but smile at the dramatics.
"yes," you hiccuped. "i have to drop out of school, and m'gonna be a failure forever. my family will probably hate me and... and my eyes are gonna be fuzzy forever because i have too much homework and i can't, i can't look at my laptop anymore and my head always hurts," you cried, feeling pathetically small at how quickly your eyes welled up.
"whoa," ellie tried to keep her voice even, it was a horrible time to even let out a small chuckle. "i'm really sorry babe, it's gonna b-"
"and my stomach hurts because the dining hall food sucks, i just wanna take a hot bath so bad... everybody needs to leave me alone," you complained, trying to speak normally through the tears. "except for you," you added weakly.
"phew, glad i made the cut," ellie sighed in pretend relief, something that would normally be a quick way to make you giggle.
"ellie," you whined, pouting at your laptop screen.
"i know. how about you pack your stuff?" ellie suggested, already standing to retrieve her wallet and keys.
"weren't you listening? i can't hang out, i have to-"
"quit school and have fuzzy eyes? i hear you," ellie acknowledged. "but how about you come do those things at my apartment?"
your heartbeat quickened at ellie's offer, but you felt too defeated to take it seriously. "i can't," you cried, and ellie quickly turned up the volume on her phone. you were sniffing and your voice sounded muffled.
you rested your head on your desk, gently pushing your laptop away from you.
"you wanna stay at your dorm?" ellie questioned, already knowing the answer.
"no," you sobbed, and ellie winced.
"pack your stuff then, okay? you can come and have a nice bath, and i'll help you with everything, yeah? does that sound good?" ellie coaxed, already leaving from her front door.
"okay," you agreed meekly, standing up from your desk and looking helplessly around your room. "thank you ellie," you mumbled, wiping your tear stained cheeks roughly with your sleeve.
"don't thank me, just get ready, alright? i'll be there soon."
with promises to drive safe, you quickly began throwing everything you needed to bring into a bag. your eyes felt heavy with sleep as you packed and waited, but ellie kept her word and arrived for you as quickly as she could.
you met her at the front door of your building, bag slung carelessly over your shoulder.
with swollen lips and puffy eyes from crying, ellie’s heart lurched at the first sight of you.
"i'll trade you," ellie said in a greeting, automatically taking your bag from you and presenting you with your favorite order from a cafe down the street. you gasped in surprise, eyes welling up with tears.
"ellie," you uttered, looking to her in awe.
"what?" she asked nonchalantly, taking your free hand. "anything for my favorite girl," she told you. you trudged along to ellie's car, gasping when she opened the door for you to reveal a bundle of flowers waiting in the passenger seat.
at first you were silent, but ellie's proud smile quickly disappeared from her face when you finally choked out a sob.
"what?" she panicked, glancing wide eyed from the flowers to your face. "what's wrong?"
you stared at her, tears once again slipping down your checks. "this is so sweet." your chin wobbled as you spoke, and ellie squeezed your hand.
"it's not supposed to make you cry!" ellie rushed. "it's supposed to make you stop crying." she was partly concerned, partly amused as she watched your face contort with emotion.
"it's jus' sweet," you hiccuped, blinking slowly.
"you're sweet," ellie praised, coaxing you into the car. "c'mon, let's get you back so you can rest before you crash, we don't need you to be a crybaby and grumpy," she teased.
"hey," you frowned, sniffing the flowers that you held in your lap.
"hey," ellie repeated. "i'll help you, you're gonna be just fine."
“you’re gonna make me cry again,” you warned, sensitive but holding back a smile.
“uh oh,” ellie grimaced. “let’s get you outta here, waterworks.”
“ellie!” you exclaimed, finally breaking out into a grin.
ellie swelled with pride once you finally smiled, a feeling that carried her through the evening while she helped you get through everything you were stressed about.
by the end of the night, you were feeling much better, especially considering how the day had started.

morning sex with chenle before you guys start the day.
your eye's fluttered opened, confused as you felt your boyfriend grinding his morning woods against your ass. "chenle?" you called out to him, but he did answer. "babe, what are you do-oh?" you turned over, facing him, your annoyed frown slowly turning into a smirk as you come to the realization that he's sleeping.
"b..babe please." he moaned in a whispered tone. "please." he was having a wet dream. "please im so hard, please do something." his hips bucked up into the air desperately.
you looked at the clock, you both had 20 minutes before you had to get up and start your routines—why not, you chenle talked about fucking each other awake before, why not try it today?
you shimmed out of your pajama shorts, straddling your boyfriends legs, gently pulling his pajamas down, careful not to wake him just yet. his hard cock slapped against his stomach, you held it in your hand pumping it a few times, before hovering over his tip, slowly mounting yourself on his cock.
"fuck." you breathed heavily as his cock stretched you out, you started moving your hips up and down, bending down to press little kisses along his jaw.
chenle began to stir in his sleep, slowly waking up. "h..huh." his eyes opened. "baby what are you doing?" his voice laced with sleep.
"you were having a really interesting dream." you moaned, not stopping your movements, his lazy smile told you he was fully awake now.
"you were doing exactly this." he groaned, his hands coming down to your ass, giving it a slap. "except you were going faster." you sped up your movements as fast as you could, it wasn't often you rode chenle.
"s..so full." your hands were pressed against his chest as you bounced on his cock. "baby i know you can go a little faster, be a good girl, we don't have long." he gave your ass another slap, telling you to go faster, you obeyed. "thats it, fuck princess, bounce on my cock." he reached up to grabbed your boobs through your shirt.
"c..chenle, shit." your legs were starting to get tired, chenle took notice, immediately taking over. "it's okay, i got you." he plated his feet on the bed, wrapping his arms around your waist, fucking up into at a fast pace.
"fuck! " the wind was knocked out of you as his pace was much faster than yours and his trust more brutal.
"c..chenle, im about to cum."
his thrust were becoming less coordinated, signaling he wasn't far from his orgasm he'd been chasing since before this even started. "s...shit, me too."
"im cumming, fuck!" you moaned against his ear, body pressed against his. he pulled your ass flush against him as he painted your wall white, his own orgasm hitting him. "fuck!"
you stayed on top of him, feeling his cock soften inside you as you both came down from your high, just as your alarm went off. "i don't even think i can go into work after that."
"then take off, so we can do that again all day long."

Twilight finally steps into Loid Forger's home. It was late at night and he thought for sure that everybody was already asleep, save for Bond who might get overzealous and wake everyone up. But the moment he closes the door, a figure appeared through his vision.
It was Yor, putting away laundry. She put them down and walked over to Loid.
"Loid! You're finally back!" She says in quiet surprise. Bond circled around them.
Loid pat Bond's head who then went back to his spot right away. Then he turned to Yor.
"I'm home. Sorry, I'm very late... I must have made you worried."
"Uhm... No! It's okay... You must have been very busy at work. " Yor asked.
"Well..." Loid's voice trailed off.
If only she knows what this man just went through.
"Yes... I had a very tough patient I had to deal with." He finally said.
Yor's eyes went wide.
"Did you have another concussive session with a patient?! Did you get hurt anywhere?! Oh, look! You have bruises! Let's treat you! Sorry, I didn't notice right away. It's dim." Yor stared at him with obviously worried eyes.
Loid couldn't stare back at her, feeling that he might end up letting his guard down.
"N-No! There's no need for that. My bruises are not that bad. I'm just... really tired with dealing with my patient today."
"Do you want some tea before you rest?"
Loid was very ready to retire to bed and sleep away the pain of his arm's gunshot wound. But chances of peace with Yor are ever so rare that he willed himself to stay.
"Ah... Sure."
"Okay. I'll pour you a cup."
Yor seated herself beside Loid on the sofa. The closeness made Loid all tingly but in a very comforting way. For the most of time, they were silent. Then Yor gave repeated glances at Loid.
"Is there something bothering you, Yor?"
"A-Wha-What? Sorry! It's just..." Yor emptied her cup and placed it on the table before continuing.
"Seeing that you can get hurt like this for treating a patient... Are you still okay with it?"
Loid seemed to be caught off guard, he only stared right back at Yor.
"Don't you regret being a psychiatrist?"
The silenced prolonged. The question gave a deep impression to Loid, to Twilight. As if asking if he regrets being a spy.
"Sorry! That was rude of me to ask! I'm not even the one to speak. I'm really sorry! You don't need to answer that, Loid."
Loid also placed his own empty cup on the table. He leaned back and stared up the ceiling.
"No. I don't regret it. Even when I get hurt doing this proffession. Because it's something that I have decided a long time ago. So there's nothing else for me but to stick with it, even during the hard times."
Yor fell silent, her eyes glinting as if understanding Loid's words very well.
Loid closed his eyes and recalled right away what he just said. It was something he just blurted out but it's true. Not only for him, but also for everyone else who decided their own path.
He drew his head back, almost hanging to the side. His mind is in total disarray. His eyes fluttered open in time only to see Yor leaning over him. Too tired and slow to react, his mind suddenly went blank when he felt a kiss on his forehead.
"You did well." Yor said and sat back.
Her calm demeanor quickly turned into surprise, and she covered her face with her hands.
Loid fixed himself in an instant, sitting properly. He faced a very embarrassed Yor. Internally, he was just as embarrassed because of their proximity just now.
"N-No! It's not what you think it is! I just..." Yor said and waved her hands.
"C-Calm down, Yor! Speak slowly." Loid said with a similarly frantic gesture.
After a few breaths, Yor continued.
"My coworkers told me that... a... w-welcome home kiss is a common thing between couples. B-But I couldn't do it earlier and you're too tired from work so I... just wanted to comfort you instead." She said and shyly looked at Loid.
Loid took a deep breath.
"Thank you, Yor. And I'm sorry." He said.
"What? You have nothing to apologize! I'm... the one who should say sorry."
"I'm sorry because I..."
His words trailed off once more as his body started moving on its own. It was as if his arm was no longer in pain and reached out for Yor's face. In an instant, Loid closed off the distance and pulled Yor into a kiss.
It was a kiss that was warmer than the tea they just had. Loid closes his eyes and thoroughly felt Yor's lips, his hand gently holding the base of her head. Yor was wide-eyed for a second before she let herself be pulled in deeper. To her, this first kiss doesn't taste like lemon. It was the sweetest thing there ever was.
All thought is lost, only this moment remains. And perhaps, it's just what Loid really needed as a reward after a hard day's work.

- If he is busy or tired from work, he will spend his off day relaxing on the balcony, sitting on the couch, and talking about your favorite movies. "Do you know that actors B and C have released a new movie this year? Let's watch it together!"
- He will try a stargazing date. He heard a lot of recommendations from Barry. Gazing at shooting stars with your favorite man isn't a bad idea. "A sparkle from the stars casting a golden glow over your hair, that's so beautiful..."
- Sometimes, he'll invite you to an amusement park or on an aquarium date. He'll take photos of you with the fish. Seeing your face under the aquarium lighting makes him feel so relaxed. "The lighting from the aquarium reflects in your eyes. Let's snap some photos."
- You two don't have any specific or special outfits for a date. However, Albert chose a nice outfit and matched it with the theme, wearing an expensive perfume, of course (he didn't wear his sunglasses this time).
- "I'm so happy to spend my days with you. You are like a ray of sunshine. Thank you for today, and I love you."

pls talk more abt the stupid art trend of only drawing neutral faced white women no matter what its something that has been eating away at me as i see the community of artists growing ever more. it frustrates me so much cause like??? is that really the extent of your creativity? some... nameless attractive woman?
I'm really not an art historian or even an extremely analytical person, so take all I'm about to say with a grain of salt, it truly is just my off-the-cuff assumptions.
First of all I wanna clarify I don't think painting a pretty girl for the sake of painting a pretty girl is inherently creatively bankrupt, I'd be a hypocrite if I said that. Plus there are many many examples of artists having a POINT when choosing that subject matter and I don't wanna be throwing them under the bus. If you know a Pretty Girl(tm) piece of art that you think actually has a message that is enhanced by the usage of that sort of face, assume I'm not talking about them.
What really bugs me is the sheer prevalence of it EVERYWHERE and how incredibly unexamined it often gets from both the artists themselves and the audience observing.
because here's the thing, I'm pretty sure I know why they're choosing a perfume-ad-type woman as their subject. Over a very very long time that specific type of face has become the Neutral Beautiful Subject in art. A: it's a human face, which our monkey brains immediately respond to. Humans see a human face, we instinctual pay attention, that's just kinda how we work. B: it's a young unblemished face with no indications of personality or personal agency or identity that could impact the viewer's attraction, and it is assumed the viewer finds the face attractive. C: It's a white feminine face/form that has an extremely long and complicated history that I won't be able to adequately layout here (again, not a historian) but is firmly entrenched in western society as being, of all the bodies, the most synonymous with beauty and art.
So from the artist's perspective, this is a very very useful subject matter because we, as an audience, have been trained not to read into it as the Neutral Beautiful Subject Matter. The assumption is that we will like looking at it, but it won't distract too much from what else the artist is doing, the technical skill they're putting in or the unusual medium or whatEVER it is they wanna flex. That specific face is visual shorthand for beauty, and we're not intended to read into it beyond that.
But that's, like.... bullshit?
It's BULLshit that we are supposed to just accept that face as the neutral symbol of beauty. It's not neutral!!!! It's EXTREMELY political!!!!!! When you make that face the subject matter of your art with NO indication that we are supposed to take ANYthing else away from it, then you, as an artist, are in fact making a statement that you are seemingly completely unaware that you are making.
All SORTS of very very heavy social things go into that seemingly passive face. The dehumanization, sexualization, and commodification of women. The deification of white femininity. The fear of age, of disability, of injury, of sexuality outside man-attracted-to-woman. The very idea that all of this could in any way, in any universe, be considered neutral.
And I don't think all the artists who create using this kind of face are rubbing their hands together going "nyehehehe, today I will support a lot of heinous cultural bullshit for profit nyehehehehe" Most of them just aren't looking at it past face value. Again, it's a useful device. It's largely popular, it will get you views and attention and as an artist myself I fucking GET IT man. I want money too. I have rent too.
But i'm just... tired. I'm tired of it.
I'm tired of how unquestioned it gets. Of how much it's rewarded.
I don't have anything else to add, I don't know how to fix any of it, just, augh.

WIBTA for pulling my younger brother from his bedroom for "sleepovers" in the living room in the middle of the night?
I hate how clickbaity that is, but it really is the most succinct way I can try to paraphrase this. I have submitted here before for similar reasons, so this setup may or may not sound vaguely familiar, but this is pretty self-contained as a separate issue, I think. Quick preface- I am one of four siblings. Ages aren't particularly important for this, save for the fact that the oldest three are within a handful of years of each other, while our youngest is several years our junior. I was 11 when he was born, for reference. We'll call him C, and the two middle brothers A and B.
We somewhat recently (within the past few years) moved to a new house with a few more rooms, which shook up our previous sleeping arrangements. Now, instead of A, B, and C sharing the same room while I had my own for gender-related reasons, A gets his own space while B and C continue sharing a room. This means that my room no longer immediately across the hall from all three. A has a bit of a history of being loud in the middle of the night and getting mad when others ask, request, or tell him to be quiet, so this was a relief.
However, my new room is still just a few feet away from B and C, and now B is doing loud enough things to keep me awake- mainly playing video games and either not using headphones, constantly humming loudly along to the music playing, or saying something about the game. As a "bonus," he insists that C has to watch him play the entire time.
Even though this runs well into the early hours of the morning most nights.
And C still has early-morning school to worry about.
Previously, I'd just resigned myself to shutting up, jamming earplugs in my ears each night, and dealing with whatever weirdness is making one of my ears painfully itchy on a daily basis as a result. However, recently our parents started giving C flak for staying up late. They also made sure we knew they wanted B to stop keeping him up, but I'm not sure B actually knows or cares.
C and I did a bit of kvetching about unrelated topics today, this subject came up, C told me he doesn't enjoy being kept up that late either, and I had the idea that, should midnight come and go without B quieting down, I would interrupt whatever they're doing and "ask" C if he wanted to come sleep in the living room with me. I'm putting "ask" in quotations because I voiced this idea almost immediately, and C agreed this would be helpful just as quickly; me asking would serve solely as a way to have me interject into whatever B's doing and give C a quick way out.
At the same time, B can get touchy if he thinks C is brushing him off or I'm "butting in." I mean, C and I kinda will be doing both those things if we wind up needing to do this, but B seems intent on monopolizing as much of C's time and actions as he can get away with. I don't really think they need to fully stop interacting, but maybe B needs some time to himself instead of constantly wringing attention out of the baby of the family.
Then again, B is an adult. Like, legally. He'll be able to drink in a few months. He doesn't need to act like I'm interrupting his playtime with his favorite action figure whenever I remind him C isn't required to pay attention to him 24/7.
Idk. As far as sleeping arrangements in the living room would go, there's enough furniture to go around. I'm just not entirely sure if butting in would be an asshole move. Justified? Almost certainly, I think. An asshole move? That, I don't know. Whatever the case, I'm hoping these things work out quickly enough that we don't lose much more sleep. We're tired of finally managing to get to sleep at 3 AM.
What are these acronyms?

Pairing: rockstar!joel miller x actress!reader
Author’s note: as I was writing this, I proclaimed in the most southern accent, “now we’re cookin’ with peanut oil!” so do that with that
Summary: Joel goes home for a month. You stay in California to work. What could possibly go wrong? [3.8k]
Warnings: HEAVILY implied casting couch culture, brief allusion to creepy Hollywood producers, yearning, I can’t think of anything else!!
Tumblr media
Boarding my flight now.
Thanks for letting me know?
Well, I texted my mama to let her know, and she told me to text "that girlfriend of mine."
Doesn't sound like she's a huge fan.
She'll live.
You like the message and go to put your phone away when it buzzes again.
Is it weird that I kinda miss talking to you?
You smile and ignore your name being called over the intercom for another beat.
There are a lot of weird things about you, Joel Miller, but that one feels the most normal.
Text me when you land in Austin. Tell your mom I said hi.
You tuck your phone away, fighting the stupid smile on your face, and look up to see a pissed-off PA walking towards you. You apologize and half jog to the sound stage where Ryan is waiting.
"The perfect punctual queen is late for once? Is the world going to shit?" He asks, and you slap his arm.
"People are allowed to be late."
"Does your lateness have anything to do with your boy toy?"
"Are you ever gonna call him by his name?" You ask. He senses that you're stalling his question and take a deep breath. "Joel is flying home to Texas today to visit family and get some work done. He'll be gone for a month."
"Oh, how will you ever survive?" He pouts, and you give him a look. The director calling for places stops you from responding, but you threaten him with the promise of picking up the conversation later.
You don't ever get to tell him off for suggesting that you can't live without Joel being in the same state because of how late shooting goes. It might've been exhaustion, but you swore that you saw the sun starting to rise over the horizon by the time you finally got to leave. You knocked out a good chunk of the scenes you were still working on, which is great news, but you were mentally and physically drained. You slept most of the next day and missed Joel's messages from one whole time zone away.
Landed.
Jesus Christ, I forgot how hot it is here.
My mama told me to ask you if you go to church since she doesn't believe me.
Attached: Two photos
You laugh as you sleepily scroll through his texts when you wake up mid-afternoon, feeling a little bit better from your long night. One of the pictures he sent is of him sitting in the cab of an old truck with the caption, "This was my first car. I can't convince my dad to sell the damn thing." The second is a blurry photo of a blue-looking weed on the side of the road surrounded by what looks like thousands of other blue weeds. "Turns out the state flower will literally grow anywhere besides in a pot in my house."
A) I'm glad you made it in safely. B) Isn't Texas the armpit of the South? C) I don't go to church, and I never have, but please feel free to lie to her. D) I can imagine a young, emo Joel Miller driving it now.
He reads your messages almost as soon as they deliver, and your screen lights up with his initials as he calls you. You yawn as you pick up and hear chatter in the background of wherever he is.
"First of all," he starts in a determined tone. "Texas ain't the armpit of the South. That's South Carolina." He says. He hasn't even been in Texas for forty-eight hours, and his accent is already thick again.
"My mistake," you laugh. "Did you have another point, or was that it?"
"Second of all, why d'you sound so tired?"
"Obviously, I was out partying with strange men all night."
"Really?" He asks, and you scoff.
"No, Joel. Filming went really late yesterday. I don't think I got home until six this morning."
"Sounds intense."
"Not as intense as being interrogated by your mother," you say, and he hums. You hear someone laughing in the background and relish in the joy that you're not there to witness. He doesn't say anything for a minute, and you wonder if the line dropped, but when you pull the phone away from your face, you see the call is still active. "You really miss me so much that you called me just to sit on the line?"
"Maybe I did." He says. You take a deep breath and glance at the clock on your bedside table. He's two hours ahead. The sun must be setting by now, casting gorgeous rays onto his skin and making his eyes look amber. You wonder what Texas air does to Joel's soul. Maybe it soothes him like only an old baby blanket can. Maybe it makes him jumpy, like he's waiting for a clap of thunder that never comes. Maybe it makes him wonder why he left in the first place. You wish you could be there to read his expression and try to decipher what he's thinking. Someone calls Joel's name in the background, and you hear him shuffle with the phone, probably covering the microphone with his hand because the voices become muffled. When the phone comes back to his ear, he takes a deep breath, and you do the same. "I gotta go. Can I call you tomorrow?" He asks.
"I'm counting on it, Miller." You say, and he laughs before mumbling a good night and hanging up the phone.
After that, it becomes a habit for Joel to call you every day from Texas. He'll tell you different stories about his parents, how Austin has changed since he left, and update you on how the newest album is coming. He listens to you rant about work, how tired you are, and how frustrated you always get toward the end of a project. Sometimes the conversations last ten minutes, and sometimes they last hours. One night, you fell asleep on the phone with him because he was trying to get your opinion on a new song, but you had spent the day filming the scene of your character giving birth, which was tiring in its own right. He doesn't chide you for it. He just sends you a goodnight text and promises to call you the following night.
You hate to admit it, but production speeds up with Joel out of town. You end up wrapping your scenes a week early while Ryan still has another couple of days of filming his scenes. You'll probably get called back in for reshoots in a few months, but you feel really good about the work you put out there, and you finally get the chance to rest before Melanie sends you more scripts to read over. You send Joel a photo of your open laptop and a glass of wine next to it as the California sun sets over your balcony.
Wrap parties are looking different as I get older.
Don't worry. I'm sure you'll still be a drunk, no matter how old.
Asshole.
Lashing out is the first sign of a bigger problem. I think I should call Melanie.
You laugh and search for the middle finger emoji when he sends you another text.
Paul got me on the list for some charity event this Saturday. Want to come with me? He said it'd probably be better to get some more dates in sooner rather than later.
The reminder that this is all fake shifts your entire mood. Of course, it's always lingering in your mind, but the texting didn't feel fake. The late-night calls didn't feel fake. He didn't feel fake. In fact, this is the first time you feel like you have a sliver of an idea as to who Joel Miller actually is when he isn't selling out world tours and recording platinum albums. It's stupid for you to feel this way. You have no reason to. No right. You take a deep breath and type out a message.
Sure.
On Friday, you drive to the airport to pick Joel up, creating an over-the-top scene of you running and jumping into his arms. His hat falls off his head and onto the ground as he catches you and kisses you sweetly. When he sets you back on the ground, he doesn't let you go right away. He lingers in your arms, and even though your feelings are still hurt and you're still trying to remind yourself that this is all fake, you let him. He smells like a detergent you don't recognize, but underneath that, you catch a whiff of the cologne he always wears. You rub his back as you hold him in the middle of the airport.
"'S really good to see your face," he says into your neck, and you nod.
"You too."
As you drive him home, he brings you up to speed on how the album is coming along and how different Texas was when he was there. You tell him about the last few days on set and an upcoming press junket in New York City. He lights up when you tell him the dates as you maneuver through LA traffic.
"I'm scheduled to go to New York to work with my sound mixer that same time. He's got his own studio out there now and knows more about it than I do," he says. "Maybe we can fly together? Make it look like a couple's trip?"
"Sure," you say. He furrows his eyebrows at your lack of excitement, and you scramble for something else to talk about. "How are your parents?" You ask. The rest of the ride to his house goes off without a hitch, and he kisses you again as he gets out of the car, both of you highly aware of the car full of paparazzi that's been tailing you since you left the airport. He promises to pick you up at five the following night, and you just nod. When you get home, you walk calmly into your house, lock the door, and scream.
Tumblr media
Joel's hand is in yours as you wait for your turn to walk the carpet. You're not sure why there's a red carpet at a charity event, but you're not about to throw a fit about it. Joel is wearing a sleek black suit, and you're matching with a long black dress. It's a low-cut backless dress, and a sparkly necklace your stylist picked out rests against your sternum. Joel taps your hand, and you look at him.
"You okay?" He asks. He looks worried as he steps between you and the wall of photographers waiting for you to stand and pose perfectly for their photos. "You've been quiet the past few days."
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired. I think I'm still recovering from that last week of filming."
"Are you sure you're not gettin' sick?" He asks, raising his other hand to your cheeks like he's checking your temperature. You smile half-heartedly and swat his hand away.
"I'm sure," you say. He tries to say more, but someone with a clipboard gets your attention and asks if you're ready. You nod and step onto the carpet, holding Joel's hand. The press erupts into a cloud of noise, startling you and making Joel laugh. You slap his chest and plaster on your rehearsed smile. You do your best to look where all the photographers are yelling at you to look and try different poses so they can get what they need. Everyone has to make a living, you suppose. You just wish their salary wasn't at the expense of your privacy.
You get halfway down the carpet, taking pictures as a couple and some solo shots, before one of the photographers yells a new command. "Can we get a kiss?" He shouts. You pretend not to hear him and show off how the dress dips down your back, hugging you in all the right places. Still, the photographer is demanding a kiss, and now others have joined in too. It feels very "dance, monkey, dance," but you do your best to grit your teeth and smile. You catch Joel staring at you when you turn. It could be the flashing bulbs of cameras or how he's looking at you, but his eyes are sparkling, and the creases in the corners make you melt just a little.
You hold out your hand for him to join you, which he happily obliges, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you close enough for him to kiss your temple. "You alright?" He asks against your skin as you rest a hand on his chest and look up at him. You nod and glance between his eyes and his lips. The chorus of people practically begging for a picture of you two kissing is growing, and you raise your eyebrows at him.
"You gonna keep them waiting, or are you gonna kiss me?" You ask, the playful lilt reserved for him returning to your voice. He gives you a look and smirks before leaning down a pressing a chaste kiss to your lips. Everyone ooh's and aw's at you two, but you only care about how fast his heartbeat is against your palm. You want to blame it on the anxiety of walking the carpet and having people scream at you to do whatever they want. No, you have to blame it on that. There's no other option.
When you finally get inside, Joel gets you a glass of wine and a mixed drink for himself. The event is sweet and goes by quickly as you listen to people talk about something they're so passionate about. You decide to donate some money under an anonymous name once you are all excused to the reception, where there's food, more alcohol, and dancing. Joel leaves your side to catch up with some musician buddies, kissing your cheek before disappearing into the crowd.
You nurse your wine as people you've never met start conversations with you. They're all polite and ask about your newest project, how LA's been treating you, and what's up next for you. You can't reveal much due to the NDA you signed at the beginning of shooting, but you tell them how excited you are for them to be able to see it and admit you've got some auditions lined up in the coming weeks. You've probably given the same answers to a handful of different people when you realize you're out of wine and Joel is still missing. You scan the room for him, but you can't find him. That's fine, you think. It's not like he's obligated to stick to my side at all times. He can have his own life.
You sigh as you belly up to the bar and order another glass of wine. You almost make it a double when someone taps your arm, making you turn. "I don't mean to interrupt, but you look exquisite tonight. I just thought you should know," ultra-famous producer Richard Pike tells you. You blink at him, your brain struggling to catch up with the fact that one of the men who's made the most award-winning films in the past twenty years just noticed you. "I know everyone has probably told you that tonight, but-"
"Oh, no. Thank you. I'm sorry. I was just a little starstruck right then," you apologize before holding your hand out to introduce yourself. He takes your hand and kisses the top of it. It's very dramatic, but this is Hollywood we're talking about. Your glass of wine arrives, and he pays the bartender before you can even reach for your purse.
"Women as gorgeous as you should never have to pay for a drink. Ever." He says, and you laugh.
"I mean, I won't argue with you on that," you say, taking your glass in your hand to clink it against his glass of scotch. "Thank you, Mr. Pike."
"Please, call me Richard," he insists. "You just finished another movie, didn't you? You're a very busy girl."
"Yes, sir. I'm already looking for new projects to audition for."
"Oh, I remember when I had actors audition. See, that was before I started writing roles for specific actors. Some people call that crude or playing favorites, but it hasn't failed me yet."
"No, sir, it hasn't."
"So formal! Yes, sir! No, sir! Are you like this with everyone?" He asks as he takes a big swig of his drink.
"Just people who can cast me," you say. You're partially joking, but it's enough for him. He laughs, and his hand lands perfectly on your exposed back as he cackles loudly. You force yourself to laugh along with him and suddenly get that sinking feeling in your chest. Everybody seems to strategically look away from you two at the bar, and you want to be anywhere but here.
"You know, I've seen a few of your movies," he says, getting close to your face like he's telling you a secret. "I think you've got a lot of potential. With just a little coaching and one great role," his hand dips lower down your back, and you freeze. Ice water runs through your veins, and everything is screaming at you to run away, but your heels stay planted against the expensive hardwood. "We'll make an Oscar winner of you yet."
"Excuse me," a familiar drawl says behind you. You both turn and make eye contact with Joel. "May I steal my girlfriend for a dance? I promised her one on the way over." He asks, but he's already wrapping an arm around your waist, ready to pull you away. The hand on your back disappears and claps Joel on the shoulder.
"Of course! You take good care of this one!"
"Yes, sir," Joel says as he pulls you to the dance floor. Your heart is still beating in your throat, and you feel like you could cry, but Joel's looking at you with such kindness. You find safety in him as you wrap your arms around his neck and slowly sway with him, the soft material of his dress shirt calming you down. He waits until Pike is out of earshot to lean down to talk in your ear. "Now, I know you don't need me savin' you like that. Are you sure you're okay?"
"He's one of the biggest producers in Hollywood. He could tank my career in a single email. You want to be the one to yell at him?" You ask. "If I said or did something, he would've doubled down, but he respects you more. He backed off because, in his mind, I belong to you."
"How do you know?"
"I've dealt with people like him before. They're all the same old men who think they can offer you a legacy on a silver platter if you fuck them. I've gotten enough advice from other actors to know how to handle them. Let them get touchy but find an out before it can go too far. Stroke their egos so they feel good about themselves. Basically, do whatever to keep you and your career safe."
"I thought stuff like that didn't happen anymore."
"You and everyone else in the world. Things don't just magically change because one guy goes to jail." You sigh.
"I'm sorry," he says, and you shake your head.
"It's fine."
"No, it's not. You shouldn't have to deal with that."
"It was one of the first things people told me when I started. They said it was something I might just have to… endure but that the weight would get easier to carry. One actress even told me that it was the price we have to pay because everyone wants to be us," you chuckle. He doesn't interrupt you; he just stares at you with apologetic eyes like he would take this burden from you if he could. You almost believe him. "I don't think that's true. I think most people would hand this lifestyle in the second it got too real."
"What would you do if you weren't an actor?" He asks, and you shrug.
"I always thought about being a teacher. Sure, the pay is shit, and the work is thankless, but kids are our future, you know? There's something really special about shaping young minds."
"Sounds nice."
"What about you? What would you do if you weren't doing this?"
"Probably something with my hands. I worked as a mechanic for a while, and I really liked that. I liked how it was a big puzzle that needed to get sorted out and fixed up."
"Why'd you stop?" You ask.
"I needed to grow up. My dad owned a contracting company, so I worked with him until I saved up enough to record my first album. And that was that."
"It's crazy how we fought so hard to get to where we are, and now that we're here, it's..." You trail off, trying to figure out what you want to say.
"Terrifying?" He suggests, and you nod. "Yeah, I'm terrified every second of every day."
"You don't act like it."
"I don't act like a lot of things that I should," he says. He stares at you so intently that the rest of the world fades away. You don't hear the song die down or the applause erupt around you as the band takes a bow. You can feel his heartbeat against your chest. You know how crazed it is. He wets his lips before stepping back and trailing his eyes down your dress and back up to your face like he's taking you in for the first time. "You really do look beautiful tonight." You swallow around the lump in your throat and smooth your hands down your dress, suddenly self-conscious.
"Thank you." You mumble.
Pictures of you two kissing on the carpet and dancing inside are circulating online before you even leave the event. You wake up to a huge batch of texts— one from your mom, two from Joel, six from Ryan, and one from Melanie about your trip to New York that you barely read. You would've stayed in bed wallowing in your own bad luck if there wasn't a sharp knock on your door. You groan the whole way down the stairs like it will help you greet whoever has decided to show up at your house at eight in the morning, but nobody's there when you open the door.
Instead, a bouquet of flowers in a lovely vase sits on your mat with a note sticking out. You glance down your street and barely catch a delivery truck turning down the block. You carefully take the flowers into your kitchen before plucking the note between the petals.
Pretty flowers for a pretty girl - JM
(PS bought these of my own volition)
"Goddammit," you mutter under your breath as you think about his lips on yours, his soft shirt, and his stupid fucking, "I don't act like a lot of things I should."

SBMS Clowning Series ☀️ v.3
i wasn’t expecting to post this so soon from the last but here we are….
Tumblr media
this is mainly to clown about the fact that shengyang’s scene where he says jian bing is his charger essentially was his own improvisation. we already talked about this before but thought it’s part of the script. it’s so funny how we cpn certain things because of rumors and then what we speculate is actually true. whether it’s indeed connected to yibo or not, what’s true if that xz has that thought in real life.
the person he loves is his charger. he can hug them and hold their hand and he will have the energy again. 🤍 he added that it’s when to people are busy with their work so when they see each other, they will recharge 👀
if you’re wondering, this what was mentioned in the fake rumors before:
A. When two people meet again after being apart for a while,When the time comes, the younger one will hug the older one, and the younger one will hug the older one. For a long time, the older one asked him what (?). Younger one said it was “charging”.
B. I'm not in a very high mood today at noon. I'm just too tired. I sent a lot of voice messages, but Xiao Laoshi seemed to be filming and didn’t reply. Wang laoshi sighed.
Teacher Wang’s power bank has arrived. ( the power bank in this case, we speculate is XZ who finally answered his call lol )
XZ: Did Xiao Baili eat anything?
WYB: You don’t care whether he eats or not
C. An incident where WYB walked over to XZ and said he was out of battery, and XZ just holds out his hand. WYB gets flustered.
• Another addition to the XZS and YBO similarity. The percentage thing. So yeah. It’s my favorite thing, collecting all the times they used the same idea in their posts.
Tumblr media
• What’s him and being a rapper? LOL. influenced by his husband?
I miss WYB rapping. I wish his single this year will have a rap part please. 🙏🏼
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• In the recent episode of SBMS, shengyang was pitching an idea to jian bing for one of the ads. So it’s about recycling & waste management, his idea was doing it in the perspective of the garbage. something like personification”. What a coincidence that in One and Only, Chen Shuo was doing the same thing. Although his was promoting the garbage can. This connection is so funny!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the fact that this happened in Happy Camp. Lol. Their garbage classification song 😂😂😂
youtube
• Shengyang’s house number is 28, and the one in front of them is 23. Lol. The numbers!

A Fair Price (Vol. 0)
Summary: Apparently, Azul's definition of "wrapping up" certain loose threads involves extended torture. Of Davis in particular. Word count: 1.1k+ Warnings: none, I think A/N: HELLO EVERYONE. I'm not done with my OC/Canon tomfoolery and you are not done having to see it. This was honestly supposed to be a joke but I think I got a little too invested and now this is like crack taken seriously..................... Anyway, this is the first of a few planned parts, so please let me know if you want to see more and I will probably get it written within the rest of the school year! Hopefully!! :,)))

(Day 0 - Wednesday.)
It all starts after winter break, with little more than a conversation.
(Really, it’d started with the anemones following midterms and the ensuing incident—but that would be water under the bridge eventually. Just not today.)
Azul approaches Davis one day at lunch, finding his usual spot on a bench in the courtyard. “Here you are.”
Davis looks up from his phone and forgotten, half-finished sandwich. His eyes narrow. “…Azul? Do you need something?”
It’s not like 2-B and 2-C have had any joint classes recently… or any time soon…
“Well,” Azul says pleasantly, as if choosing not to acknowledge the other’s rightful wariness, “I hear that you’ve been rather sullen ever since before the break, especially regarding me, which could only relate to one thing. And seeing as I’d rather wrap up some loose threads sooner than later…”
It’s difficult, resisting the urge to scoff, but Davis manages to do just that and keeps a relatively straight expression.
“Right,” he says slowly. “It’s a little hard to not be, in your words, ‘sullen’ after seeing your treatment of student-workers.”
To Davis’ immense disappointment, Azul takes the seat next to him with a sigh. “If it pleases you, Yu has already lectured me on the severity of my actions. I’ve been taking it to heart and treating them more justly.”
“Uh-huh. Do you need to hear it from another mouth to really get it?” Davis isn’t angry, just… riled up in a tired sort of way. His phone burns like phantom pain with the weight of various victim accounts in it. “I don’t need you to please me. Rather—has anyone actually been holding you accountable for any of this?”
“Plenty,” mutters Azul under his breath with an unrecognizable tone, before adjusting his glasses. “I’ve given remuneration to many students who were physically harmed by the twins, as well as met several of my own students’ demands.” There’s a glint to the frames as they catch the light. “I’m genuinely curious—what else would you like to propose I do?”
That gives Davis pause, although not for the expected reason. It’s because—
(“What do ya think we should do?” Jacques asked.
Davis’ eyes widened. “Me?”
“Yeah, you. Youse our only walkin’ mouth.” In a too-casual gesture Davis was getting used to, Jacques slung his arm over his shoulders. “The strike was your idea, no? So I gotta trust you to be the brains to my brawn.”
Davis scoffed in amusement, and Jacques grinned at him.)
—because of something that doesn’t really matter anymore, something he should have left behind when he left RSA. Really, his little grudge against Azul is also a remnant of baggage he should have abandoned a long time ago.
Still, Davis isn’t one to swallow his words at the first sign of being off-mark. “Does that really make up for all of it?” And just like that, an idea strikes him all of a sudden. “Come to think of it… how often do you work at the Mostro Lounge? I’m sure it’d satisfy a lot of people to see you doing the same work as them.”
Azul opens his mouth to say something, but then closes it and gently furrows his brows in a thoughtful look. His gaze flicks from Davis to the ground, then back again. “I find myself pleasantly surprised by the way you think,” he says finally with a smile, not elaborating on his own thought process. “If I allot some time every week for the next month or so to take a few shifts, then there could be unexpected benefits…”
“Really?” Davis raises an eyebrow—even though he can recall when Azul and the twins decided to take a shift at the Lounge post-Overblot, he’d assumed that was a one-time thing on the housewarden’s part. “I didn’t think you’d do more manual work than necessary.”
“Never let it be assumed that I don’t strive for self-improvement,” is Azul’s lofty reply.
“...Alright.”
Davis is more than ready to leave the conversation at that and return to his lunch, but something about the way Azul crosses his legs and props up his elbow on one knee disturbs him; if not the way that he rests his chin on his hand with a Look™ to his eyes. And true to form—
“Since this was your idea… how about you take some responsibility?” Azul suggests. “I’m sure the fair price of keeping me company until my ‘atonement’ tenure ends is acceptable.”
“Keeping you… company?” echoes Davis in disbelief. “Won’t there be some kind of catch to this? I thought you were over your contracts.”
Azul waves his other hand as if to dismiss that topic. “This isn’t a contract—merely an exchange of sorts.”
“I’m not working for free, I’ll have you know.”
“Rest assured, I’m not asking you to work. Goodness, you sure enjoy covering all your bases…” Azul shakes his head, somehow without losing even a fraction of his cordial yet opportunistic demeanor. “I just think it’d be in both our best interests for me to better acquaint myself with both a classmate and a member of the school newspaper.”
…Right. Leave it to Azul to remember something most people didn’t care about for him and then milk it as an opening to profit.
Of course, Davis had been lectured on the power of the press many a time before when he was still at RSA. Being the manager of a student-run business on campus, Azul would take to forming a solid connection with the newspaper staff like maybe a vulture to a carcass. But just as easily as he could advertise the Lounge, he could slowly weasel his way into controlling what goes into the paper…
“Hardly anyone reads the paper,” Davis mutters, still trying to get out of this half of the ‘exchange.’ “I don’t think you’ll find what you’re looking for.”
“While that was true in our freshman year,” Azul admits, “it’s thanks to your work that I’ve noticed many students actually read the online version or get their hands on the physical copy. Which is why I hadn’t seriously considered this option until now.”
Davis frowns. “Thanks for the flattery… But even if you want a collaboration, I usually don’t write articles—”
“That wouldn’t be a problem, we can find some way to make it work.”
Man, thinks Davis, I really can’t tell if it’s the universe or just Azul himself out to get me today.
Azul exhales and adjusts his glasses again. “Besides, we’re getting a bit sidetracked. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”
“Right,” Davis concedes. He curses himself silently for getting carried away—this was, in part, his own idea and he should be willing to pay the price. Otherwise, he’d just be a hypocrite.
“So…” Azul extends his hand. “Are we in agreement?”
Davis looks down at it, many thoughts passing through his mind, and sighs. Finally, he reaches out to shake Azul’s hand in what feels like an admission of defeat. “Sure. But this is just for those guys who suffered under you.”
“Of course,” Azul replies; as much as Davis would like to think it’s in a condescending tone, that’s just his imagination.
