Hello!!! I was wondering if you knew of a fic where merlin was cursed to receive an injury every time Arthur insults him? I saw someone talking about it on Pinterest but I can't find any links. Thank you in advance, you're awesome!

Goddd I know this one! But for the life of me I can't find it. If anyone reads this, please help out in finding this fic!

While searching through, I found you these. They're different from the idea you're looking for, but similar in essence:

1. whisper to the flame by @missfaber. Merlin takes Arthur's injury to save him. One of the most beautiful magic reveals written, and one of my all-time favourite fics.

2. Take Your Pain Away by @bluegrasssax. Merlin takes the injuries of his soulmate instead of him (before and after knowing it's Arthur). Arthur does too. Set in S1. Veryy well written and has good Nimueh (which I don't ever see!)

3. Lie to me by @guiltyscarlet. Every time Merlin lies to Arthur, the lie is inscribed on Arthur's skin permanently. Sooo unique of an idea and with beautiful art too by @gyrhs!

Discovery!

People using Glaze/Webglaze! I have made a discovery. Inputting a png produces dramatically better results than inputting a jpg.

Here's why, confirmed by Glaze lead: Glaze only works on pngs, so it converts to a png anyway regardless of what you put in. After, it will convert back to the file format you input (like a jpg), and likely uses whatever default compression method to do so. So you end up with compression on compression, and it creates some nasty results.

Tonight I was trying to Glaze this majority-red work (which we all know gets destroyed by compression because of the color) and was gutted by how absolutely terrible it looked. Like saving a quality 3 jpg in Photoshop, honestly. I'm all for giving up *some* quality and ability to discern small details in favor of the protection of Glaze, but this was too much. Crisp details were entirely lost when I got it back. I was lamenting the fact that I might have to just not Glaze this work at all. Since you can't really dial back the intensity for webglaze anymore (it's medium or high, or default, which selects for you), I decided to try putting a png through. Which came out WAY better?

Then I put another one through to be sure, and had the same (better) results. And one more for good measure, all of which produced better results than their jpg counterparts.

So my workflow moving forward will be high quality png into webglaze, then convert to jpg on my own to save quality as much as possible. P.S. if you want to see the work I included here for reference, it's here.

I have included a more in-depth email template to send to Discord that is based on an arbitration opt-out sample letter from a legal office.

Attention AO3 to Kindle readers

Sending fics to my kindle has been a godsend since I started. But with the recent switch from mobi to epub I’ve had some issues. Namely, losing the table of contents and chapter separation of fics.

Well no more!

Though some may not care, it bugged the hell out of me. So (thanks to Reddit) I have a solution and it works! One note, this is specifically for doing on mobile. I’m sure it works on the computer too but I haven’t tried.

1) Download the fic to your phone as a mobi file

2) Using Zamzar (free and safe) convert the file to epub

3) Send to your kindle app

It’s that simple! Now I just have to go through my kindle and do it to all my fics 😭. Oh well. Happy reading friends!

Earlier today (February 6th, 2023), two very powerful earthquakes hit northwest Syria and central Turkey. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.8, making it the worst earthquake to hit the country since 1939. That combined with the 75+ aftershocks has had horrifying results. It killed thousands in Syria and Turkey, reducing around 5,000 buildings to rubble in the process.

Atleast 13,000 people were injured in Turkey. The death toll has reached around 3k. People have lost their homes and are sleeping outside in the freezing cold.

A user that goes by the name of @thelegendzapatacoll arrived in my DMs at around 4 am [i was asleep btw] and in the morning, i decided to respobd, because:

after, i declined his request to sext him, and even though i told him i was a minor, he still persisted, to which i tried to change the subject to food:

after which we had s conversation about food in general. I was trying to steer him away from a sexual conversation and at least give him a chance to realize his fatal mistake he was making.

up until which... it wasn't a mistake anymore..

soon after, i could no longer steer it away as he persistently messaged about his sexually driven interests, while still confirming to him i was a minor

in these messages, i tried to sound as neutral n as innocent as possible, to see how far he'd go

now with the rest of these messages, i don't even know what to say to this...

Now at that point, he was beginning to spam me because i was going AFK, taking these screenshots.

Once i had all the evidence i needed, i soon blocked him and made this post

Not even 30 minutes after me blocking him, he deleted his account, which didn't have much on it anyway, besides a few reblogs n some other stuff i cant remember.

I just want to remind y'all why you should have insurance.

Because I am not a perfect person, I put off getting insurance on my crappy little prefab home. Now I have a leak in the roof. The roofer got up there and let me know that even though my shingles are new (I was told when I moved in that the roof had recently been redone), the underlayment is NOT new and is compromised. He said it looks like a DIY job, and the shingles that were used are so cheap they were discontinued because their unreliability meant they were seldom up to code. In other words, previous homeowner did it himself and did a shitty job.

It's $10-13k to re-roof. I was basically expecting that. HOWEVER, because the roof is shitty, there's internal and wall damage as well that needs to be fixed eventually. Probably some mold. Obviously that will be a whole other cost as well.

He showed me photos of hail damage to the shingles.

If I'd had insurance, even if they typically didn't cover water damage, those hail marks would have earned me a fully covered claim for both the roof and all the internals. All of it. Instead I'm out of pocket.

Y'all, I'm an insurance agent. I know better. I got lazy. Now it will cost me probably $20k when all is said and done. PLEASE take my advice: get your place insured, EVEN IF YOU RENT, so you can be lazy LATER when something happens, and let the insurance take care of it.
