the lost sully
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: there was one rule…
pairings: sully family x sibling!reader
warnings: angst no comfort
word count: 1.3k
a/n: i'm taking a hiatus. Idk for how long but i will not be posting or responding to anyone or anything unless we are mutuals and i’ve told you what happened. Please don't pry all i will say is someone very close to me died today. this will be the last thing i post for a while so sorry if its halfassed.
Tumblr media
"now they'll never find me," you said as you laughed, feeling the rush of the wind blowing on your face. you had broken the only rule you and your siblings had when playing hide and seek.
no ikrans
you figured it wouldn't be a problem because you knew the forests like the back of your hand and weren't going far anyway. you spotted a clearing near high camp where neteyam was counting, giving you guys 20 seconds to hide around the nearby area. you, on the other hand, were feeling daring today. you hadn't won a hide-and-seek game in years, and your siblings continuously rubbed it in your face.
of course, as you guys grew up, you had less and less time to play games, but recently, with you finally completing your rites, you were able to hang out with your siblings more. you would find yourself tagging along with lo'ak, kiri, and neteyam when they went to hang out with other na'vi your age.
thinking about your siblings made you laugh as you finally settled into your hiding spot. you were hiding inside a log in the clearing you had found earlier, waiting for your eldest brother to find you. you placed your palms flat on each other, facing the ground, and rested your face on your hands, allowing them to act as a pillow as you drifted off to sleep, knowing you would be the last one found. a little victory nap wouldn't hurt.
you would rest here amongst the flora and fauna of your home. a little fan lizard scampered into the log, snuggling up to you, seemingly joining your nap. then you felt another running up the back of your leg, coming up to cuddle into the small of your back. you giggled as a few more gathered around you, packing into your little hiding spot. you loved moments like this. moments that you could share with the fauna that eywa has blessed your home with.
much like kiri, you were very in touch with the great mother, but while kiri leaned more toward the flora, you were more in tune with the animals of pandora. always being able to steer away an angry mama palulukan rather than having to fight. you sighed as you felt sleep consume you. who knew sleeping in a log would be so comfortable? was the last thought to cross your mind before you allowed your dreams to consume you.
Tumblr media
waking at the sound of an ikrans screech was startling, to say the least. unfortunately, you forgot where you fell asleep, so when you jumped up, you hit your head pretty hard against the top of the log.
"OW- ow. oh my god, ow…." you whimpered out, being in so much pain that the only thing you could do was just sit there and process what the actual fuck was happening. so much was happening so fast that you didn't have a moment to collect yourself. your blood was rushing thanks to your little alarm clock, so you slipped your body halfway out the log, looking up at your ikran, txep, with a glare. he returned your look with a mischievous glare of his own.
"oh, you think it's funny." you sneered at your companion. he screeched in response as if he was antagonizing you.
"well, i'm glad you do because now we're both gonna have a headache while flying back, you skxawng." you groaned as you pulled the rest of your body out the log, wincing as you stretched. you brought your hand to the back of your head, which was now a dull pain. you decided to sit down for a second to give yourself a minute to gather.
and then everything came back to you, the hide and seek game, your ikran ride, your "victory nap"...
you looked to the sky, wincing as you noticed it's been eclipse for a while now.
mom and dad are gonna kill me…
you were honestly scared. you were never one to get into huge trouble like your brother lo'ak, but you knew that you would definitely be getting into huge trouble when you got home. you sighed as you stood and looked over at your ikran, still coddling the back of your head.
"come on. let's go home," you said as you made tsaheylu and mounted your saddle. txep made soft noises of uncomfortability as he now felt the effects of your pain through the bond.
"sorry, buddy, but you can only blame yourself here." you managed a laugh in times of grave fear. taking off in the direction of home, you knew you were only 5 minutes away from the scolding of a lifetime. at least, you thought you were until 5 minutes turned into 20. then suddenly, 20 minutes became 40, and 40 minutes became an hour. you felt like you were flying in circles. you couldn't find high camp, your headache worsened, and your vision blurred. txep could barely fly straight.
you decided it would be best to land somewhere to avoid getting hurt while flying around with an injury like this. the time between when you were in the air and landed on the ground was a blur. but as soon as your feet touched the ground, you passed out. the exhaustion and pain was too much.
Tumblr media
as you awoke again, you heard strange sounds disrupting your sleep. you groaned, assuming it was your brothers messing with you, but once you opened your eyes, you saw a roof above your head. but the architecture isn't that of the omatikaya, and the air smelled of salt water and sea life. you shielded your eyes as you were met with the sun gazing through a… window?
"oh, thank eywa, you are awake. my mother began worrying when you had not woken up after a week."
A WEEK?!?!
she noticed the panicked look on your face and quickly settled beside you, rubbing your shoulders as a comfort method.
"do not worry. you are safe. your ikran is safe. you had a head injury and were passed out on an island just outside the reefs. i am going to ask you some questions. is that okay?" the girl asked. she had teal skin, and her arm, legs, and tail were thicker than your own.
"what is your name?" she spoke softly like she didn't want to scare you.
"y/n," you replied, barely above a whisper. you didn't even feel your mouth move.
"hi, y/n. my name is tsireya. how old are you?"
"i'm 13. i just got my ikran… i just completed my rites… i–" your voice was shaking.
"hey, y/n, it is okay. i just have one more question for you," she said as she continued to comfort you. you sighed, not wanting to speak anymore as your reality came crashing down on you.
you don't know where you are.
you had broken the only hide-and-seek rule you guys had, and now you're lost. stranded on the islands of pandora, not knowing how to get home
"do you know where you are?" you didn't respond as you felt your tears escape the corners of your eyes. whimpers and sobs creep out of your throat as you shake your head in response to her question. she sighed, her ears pinned to her head as she could only feel sad for you.
she decided to lay down, holding you in her embrace until she felt your breathing even out. she wigged herself out of the cot you were lying on as she left the pod. tsireya assumed that you had fallen asleep, but she was wrong. the second she left, your tears returned tenfold, but you managed to hold in your sobs. your thoughts were loud in your mind, but one sentence silenced them all.
one sentence that had intensified your cries, now having to use the cushion under your head to muffle your cries.
now they'll never find me.

𝜗𝜚 — "You're quiet today," Neytiri observed as she looked up from her basket and looked over at you, watching the forcefulness of your hand movements, the frown that sat on your face as your eyebrows were scrunched together, and the agitated tail behind you. “What’s wrong?”
𝜗𝜚 — “Nothing is wrong, Sa’nok, I’m fine,” you lied but Neytiri saw through it knowing that something was bothering you and she wasn’t going to give it up. “[Name]...” She began this time using a gentle maternal tone that you knew all too well.
𝜗𝜚 — Letting out a sigh, you stop weaving and try to avoid her eye contact, you knew she wouldn’t let it go so why not come out with it? “Why can’t I be like them?” you mumbled thinking she didn’t hear you but she did. “What do you mean?” she queried as she moved closer to you, taking a braid out of your face and tucked it behind your ear.
𝜗𝜚 — You move away from her touch and her ears flatten against her head in sadness, you used to always lean into her touch when you were younger, it’s really hitting her that you’re growing away from her. “Why can’t I be like Neteyam, Kiri, Tuk, hell even Lo’ak,” you mumbled. “They’re easily adapting here and I still can’t get it right?”
𝜗𝜚 — “Back in the forest, everything came to me easily but now…” you take a breath as you try to fight back the tears from falling.
𝜗𝜚 — “Now everything is hard for me and I’m always the one left behind because I can’t manage to hold my breath longer…” The tears rolled down your cheeks as you let out a sob and Neytiri's heart broke to see you like this, she immediately pulled you into her embrace holding you tightly.
𝜗𝜚 — “I’m sorry, I’m such a failure.” you wept as you buried your face in her chest.
𝜗𝜚 — “Hey, stop that, you can never be a failure in my or your father's eyes,” she coos softly as she rubs your back.
𝜗𝜚 — “You should never compare yourself to other people, you’re you and that’s what matters to us.” She says as she pulls away from the hug to wipe the tears off your beautiful face, she saw a lot of her in you at this moment since you shared a lot more of Jake’s traits and smiled a bit.
𝜗𝜚 — “We all learn at our own paces, you’re not going to get everything so quickly.” She comments as she looks down at you with a soft gaze.
𝜗𝜚 — “Your father did not pass his first training with Tsurak just like how years ago, he didn’t get things on the first try just like you. She smiled as she remembered the moments when she had to teach Jake. “But he never gave up and kept trying and gave it his best.”
𝜗𝜚 — “You have what it takes to learn to adapt, don’t give up so easily.” You nod your head quietly as you rub your eyes a bit, letting out a small smile. “Also don’t bottle this all up inside you, your father, siblings, and I are here to talk or when you need a shoulder to lean on.”
𝜗𝜚 — “Alright, I’ll come to you next time,” she smiles at your response and pulls you in for a hug. “I’ll keep trying, I won’t give up,” you assure her. “Good.”
𝜗𝜚 — “Would you talk to me about your crush on the Chief’s son?” She queried as you pulled away, she raised an eyebrow bone and your face began to heat up and a flustered smile showed up on your face.
𝜗𝜚 — “W…what crush? I don’t like him at all.” You stutter but all Neytiri does is smile, seeing through that lie but she doesn’t say anything, just simply lets out a laugh and goes back to weaving her basket.

The Lone Hunter
Summary: After telling the children more of the story from earlier in the day, the children want to hear the last of the story. So much so that they get a suprise visitor. Featuring Tsu'tey, who is not dead after avatar 1.
FINAL PART
<–Previous Chapter
Tumblr media
That evening after Jake and the family had finished their meal, constantly bombarded by all the questions about the lone hunter, Jake finally relented. Letting the children know that he’ll tell the final part before bed time.
“Tell us the rest of the story!” Neteyam tugged on his father’s loincloth.
“Okay, settle down everyone,” Jake sat his family in a circle, Neytiri and Tuk on his right. Kiri, Lo’ak and Neteyam shuffled closer.
*
After Jake told Grace and Norm the story of the possible origin of the lone hunter, Grace became slightly concerned for the lone na’vi. The politics of the na’vi culture wasn't unheard of, such as arranged mating. But this was the first time that the two scientists were troubled by the story.
“We’ll go talk to her tomorrow, you can come if you want,” Grace offered to Jake, who only looked at Grace and Norm with genuine fear. The idea of meeting a thanator after being chased twice, gave him ptsd.
“Don't worry, the thanator is actually friendly. But…Im not so sure about–”
“Just come along. If you feel uncomfortable, you can just leave,” Grace cut Norm off.
“That's true,” Norm yawned, wanting to go to bed.
“Okay, okay,” Jake grumbled.
The very next morning, Jake met up with Grace and Norm’s avatar half-way between Hometree and the spring. His nose instantly catching the scent of a thanator, that was on the two. They trekked the seven miles on foot arriving to the same spring and waterfall. After looking around for a moment, they realised that the lone na’vi wasn't around.
“We’ll wait for five minutes, see if she will show up,” they sat on a fallen log.
They waited for five minutes. Then ten. Thirty minutes had passed and Norm was getting restless, so he called out to the thanator, Hona. Smacking his lips loudly, making a Pah Pah sound, hoping that the thanator was nearby. An hour had passed and the lone na’vi and her thanator had not arrived.
“Maybe, they’re hunting?” Norm questioned.
“Possibly.”
“Or, they’re not in the area.”
“Gee, you think?” Grace sarcastically replied. Norm’s expression faltered.
They would return to the spring the next day, and the next, but Jake had to return to his training with Neytiri. So day after day, when Grace and Norm weren't collecting samples for research would return to the spring. Eventually they came to the conclusion that the lone na’vi had moved on. Even the scent of the thanator faded, their protection, undone.
Months passed, and when Grace and Norm were invited back into the Omatikaya clan, where they were greeted with both warmth and trepidation. They went back to their research and teaching the young na’vi. When finally, Jake confessed that he was sent by Quaritch. But he also confessed that he had fallen in love with Hometree, the people, the culture, and Neytiri. He couldn't convince them to leave Hometree. He would betray the sky people.
And when the day that the sky people struck Hometree, was when a war was declared. When Eytukan died. Tsu’tey taking his place as Olo’eyktan. And when Jake became Toruk Makto. Grace unfortunaetly died. They gathered troops, warriors from neighbouring clans to help fight in the war, setting up their camp near the Tree of Souls.
The night before the war, a scout found tracks. Tracks of a thanator and warned the other na’vi of a predator nearby. More scouts gathered at the edge of the camp, spreading themselves out but they didn't see anything. For hours they kept watch, sometimes catching distant footsteps of a thanator in the shrubbery, but it didn't approach the scouts.
The very next day was the day of attack. The na’vi and the sky people, fighting within the Hallelujah Mountains. It rained bullets and arrows, and when the sky people wanted to destroy the Tree of Souls with big explosives. Tsu’tey swooped in!
/
“Uncle Tsu’tey! Yay!” Neteyam excitedly screeched.
“Go Uncle Tsu’tey!” Kiri joined in.
“Yayayayay!!” Lo’ak piped up.
“Mawey, mawey. Let me continue,” Jake calmed them down.
*
He shot two arrows at the sky people, swinging his bow at another. But oh no! He was shot with sky people weapons.
/
“Nooooo!” the kids yelled out. Jake dramatically fell, rolling his eyes as Neytiri laughed at his acting. Jake sat up chuckling, but continued…
*
Tsu’tey began falling from the sky. Down into the jungle below–
/
“And survived!!!” Tsu’tey jumping into their family nest laughing heartily, scaring the whole family. Neteyam, Lo’ak and Kiri tackled their uncle to the floor of the nest, Neteyam lightly punched his uncle with his tiny fists, as Kiri and Lo’ak tugged at their uncle’s arms. After calming down, kiri finally asked.
“But how did you survive? Surely you would have died from the fall,” she cocked her head to the side, as they remained on the floor.
“Oh, but I didn't,” Tsu’tey looked to Jake, as if asking permission to continue,
“How about I finish the story?”
The children looked at each other before nodding their heads.
(Tsu’tey POV)
I was falling, my body felt very heavy from being wounded. I thought I was going to die when I collided to the ground, but in my haste, I managed to slow down my fall using the large leaves, but still it was very painful when I landed on the ground below. Unable to move, and finding it hard to breathe the sound of sky people machines came closer. There was no other na’vi around, either dead or have pushed forward so I couldn't call for help, when a metal suit came closer, there was a demon inside. In that moment an atokirina floated down. As the demon came closer so did the seed of the great tree.
The demon in the metal beast pulled me up from my braid, it was very painful and I couldn't do anything, when all of a sudden I could smell in the air, a palulukan. Still staring at the demon, I could see the reflection of the beast racing toward us and on top of it was a na’vi. Painted with the colours of the surroundings, she held tightly in her hand a bow and arrow. She let go. And it struck the demon in the chest. The demon let go of my braid and I fell back onto the ground, the palulukan lept over me and attacked the metal machine with full force. The na’vi and her beast roaring out the most fearsome war cry. Smashing the glass as the na’vi pulled the arrow out with her strength, she fired the same bow at the demon again killing it.
When she was done with her kill, she disconnected her queue, sliding off her palulukan and rushed to my side. The Palulukan Makto pulled to sit me up and bandadged my back before laying me back down, I felt like I was going to pass out but then I heard her gently hum. She took out salve from her pouch applying a paste to my wounds then brought out a needle, there and then she fixed me up, the song she sang sounded so sweet and kind. I could hear her palulukan prowling around beside up attacking stray sky demons, but she continued her song to distract me. I could feel my eyes close just as a cloud of atokirina floated down. As if Eywa herself had come to intervene.
I thought I died, but I was woken by na’vi surrounding me. They slowly leaned me against a log as Neytiri and Jake arrived. But I lost consiousness again. But later I would wake up in the healing tent. Neytiri was by my side as the healers checked my wounds. I asked her where the female na’vi was, the one who saved me. The Palulukan Makto? Neytiri only looked at me confused.
She told me, “Our warriors found you, you were alone. You were wounded and someone had patched you up. We asked around, but everyone there denied it. Said that they just found you like that.”
Days, then weeks flew by. My injuries healed, but the pain was still there. I could not lead the people when I was still weak. So I passed on my role of Olo’eyktan to Jake Sully, our Toruk Makto. He moved the clan somewher safe, near a spring, with a waterfall in the middle of the jungle. Fifteen miles away from where Hometree once stood. It was beautiful, like a….a…iknimaya?
Heaven.
One day I decided to go on a walk to the waterfall, and Jake came with me for some reason. As we reached the treeline, an atokirina floated down. Drifting to the bank of the spring landing in a spot of the dirt. We both looked down as it rested on a paw print, a palulukan. When my ear caught a sound, it was near and when we turned to look, there in the distance poking through the tall bush was the face of a palulukan, but it didn't charge at us. Just sniffed the air and disapeared into the bush.
/
“Was it the lone hunter? Did you see the lone hunter?” Neteyam questioned.
“We didn't see anyone, Or I don't think we did?” Jake answered.
*
That night, two hunters were going to catch a sturmbeest for communal dinner. But as they came to the edge of the village, they found carcasses of two sturmbeests, with a pile of leaf wrapped meat, and even puffballs, utumauti (banana fruit), fyìpmaut (squid fruit), tumpasuk (cannonball fruit) and kllpxiwll (lionberry). A meal for the village. So that no one is hungry. The two hunters brought everything to Mo’at showing them all they’ve brought, told her how it was just out in the open, next to the village. And when Mo’at learnt of this, she took off in that direction, the two hunters following behind her. Many hours passed. Everyone gathered that night, except for Mo’at who had yet to return. The two hunters came back just before the meal began.
Neytiri who was looking for her mother, questioned them and was only told.
“It seems that Mo’at has found our provider,” as they gestured to the pot on the fire and pile of fruits. Mo’at would return at that moment, riding on the back of a palulukan with a female na’vi sat behind her. The Palulukan Makto. Everyone was startled by the presence of the beast but it did not growl, it did not intimidate.
And as Mo’at climbed off the beast, she announced to everyone, “This is your Palulukan Makto! Your provider! Your protector! An Omatikayan! Treat her as your sister!” Mo’at would greet her with formality, “Oel ngati kameie, child”. Everyone greeted her with formality. She returned the greeting to us as she came closer into the light.
“Oel ngati kameie. I see you all.”
*
“Wow!” Neteyam, Kiri and Lo’ak clapped in awe.
“So the lone hunter is in the village now?” Kiri’s little voice asked, yawning.
“Oh yes, little Kiri. She is here watching over us, she will always be looking over us. Much like your father, our Toruk Makto,” Tsu’tey’s voice sure and righteous. Jake cringed a little at his title, his wife already sleeping with her head resting on his shoulder. Lo’ak had fallen asleep beside his uncle, still holding his arm.
“Wow. Have we met her before?” Neteyam questioned his uncle, “Even in passing?” To which Tsu’tey smiled, nodding. A comfortable silence fallen on them.
“Do we know her?” Kiri pressed further, unsatisfied with her uncle’s silent nod. Tsu’tey nodded again.
“Well who is it?” the kids impatientness made Tsu’tey chuckled.
“Tell us. Tell us. Please?” Neteyam pressed his palms together, begging to know.
“It’s–”
“Ma yawntu,” a voice called from below the Sully’s nest. What impeccable timing, Tsu’tey thought to himself, looking at Jake who gave him a wide smile, barked out a loud laugh, catching himself he slapped his hand over his mouth as not to wake his wife and two sleeping children. His children looked at their father with confused expressions.
“Okay kids, story’s over. Time for bed,” Jake stifled a laugh calling for his two oldest. As the children groaned out, they lazily crawled to their parents, Tsu’tey picked up Lo’ak and gently handed the child to his father. Giving Jake a crooked smile as the children yawned.  “Good night, brother Jake,” Tsu’tey took his leave climbing down from the tree.
___________________________________________________________
BONUS!!!
“Ma Yawne,” Tsu’tey greeted his wife at the base of the Sully’s nest.
“Ma Tsu’tey, why are you still up? You should be resting,” his mate poked his shoulder. But Tsu’tey could only look at his mate with nothing but endearment, bringing her closer to him, he rested his forehead on hers. They stood like that for a moment when a palulukan nudged his and his wife’s elbow. Purring at them. Tsu’tey pulled away and gave the big cat a rub on it's head.
“Ma Hona is going to give birth soon,” Tsu’tey’s mate rested her head on his shoulder.
“As will you my dear,” he placed a hand on her pregnant belly, giving a quick kiss on her cheek. “Come, let us return home.” Tsu’tey rested his hand on her back, guiding her back to their nest.
“So, what were you doing just now?”
“Oh, telling a story to the children,” Tsu’tey explained.
“What was the story about?”
“The Lone Hunter.”

The Gentle Stars
Tumblr media
Hi! So this is my very first time writing anything, but I figured I would give it a shot. If you liked it please leave a like or comment!
You and your dad, Jake Sully, look at the night sky. Child!Reader.
“Daddy?”
“Yeah, baby girl?”
You turn around in the arms of your father, your tiny legs wrapped around the side of his slim waist as you both look up at the stars together. One of his arms is wrapped around your shoulders, the other placed lower on your back to support your weight. You rest your head against the bare skin of his shoulder, soaking in his gentle warmth. The night air is warm and wet, and the insects buzz around the forest in a low, constant hum. In the distance, you can hear the low murmuring and laughter of your clan.
“You and Mommy said you came from the stars, right?” You ask softly, tilting your head up so you can meet the eyes of your father.
He leans his head down slightly to return your gaze, golden eyes almost glowing in the surrounding darkness. Up on this side of the forest, there are more rocks than there are bioluminescent plants, which dims the environment. The darker color of his face makes his eyes gleam that much fiercer, but the look in them is as gentle and soft as it always is when he talks with his young children. The small spots on his face and neck glow a bright white.
“That’s right.” He says just as softly, deep voice reverberating from his chest into your smaller, more fragile one.
It’s times like these that make you the happiest, even at such a young age. Being surrounded by your family, with your clan and the light of their fire at your back, protecting you. Being loved is an all-consuming feeling. There is nothing quite like the endlessly affectionate and gentle embrace of a parent. You are content, here in this lively and glowing forest. Here in your home.
“What was your star like?”
“My star?”
“Yeah, the home you had before you had us. What was your star like?”
Your father shifts his grip on your arms, looking up at the bright night sky.
“Well. When I was born, that star was already…hurting. The people there had almost burned it out completely. But from what I learned when I was a kid, it was a beautiful place, just like our star here.”
He continues, just as quietly as before.
“It was…a different place from our star, but there are some things that are the same. It’s almost like the people on that star turned it into a pale imitation of itself, like they took too much and sucked the life right out of it. That’s the best way I can describe it, at least.”
“Oh.” You say, snuggling deeper into your father’s hold, suddenly chilly. “That’s sad.”
“Yeah, kid, it is.” Your father acknowledges, and lowers his head onto the top of yours.
“It’s part of the reason why I was so captivated when I first came to our home. The life and vibrancy of this place was so different from where I had grown up. The contrast was startling, to say the least.”
“And then you meet Mommy, right?”
Your father laughs and says, “Yeah, sure did. Your Mom was the first person I met who was from this star, and she taught me the ways of her people. In time, they became my people, too.”
His ears suddenly flick, as if sensing something, and his smile grows a little slyer.
“And when I met your mom, she was totally charmed by my calm nature and the vast amount of knowledge I had. Oh yeah, I practically had to run away from your mother with how much she was throwing herself at me - hey!” A large blue hand slapped out gently to the side of your father’s head and he dodged it as best he could, laughing.
Your own ears twitch as you finally hear the approaching form of your mother, and you lift your head away from your father to make eye contact with her over your father’s shoulder. She meets your eyes and smiles. Once she gets to you and your father, she reaches out to fondly caress the back of your cheek with her knuckle. Her own large golden eyes are warm and soft.
You grin back at her, eyes bunching up in delight and sharp little teeth glinting in the night.
Your father uses the arm not supporting you to wrap himself around the waist of your mother, pulling her into his side and pressing his nose into the side of her cheek.
“My Jake, you dare tell lies to our daughter?”
“Nah, never. Maybe we just remember things differently.”
She scoffs and lays a hand on the arm wrapped around her waist.
“As if I could ever forget the night we met.”
A soft coo comes from the area of your mother’s chest, and you look down to see the sleeping form of your baby brother strapped onto her torso. His eyes are closed and his breathing is even, little hands curled into fists above his head and resting on her clavicle. The hand not on her mate’s arm rests lightly upon his little head.
Many years from now, you will finally stab a knife into the neck of an evil man and watch him choke to death on his blood. As you watch the life fade from his eyes, you will remember this moment, when your innocence and family were still whole.
But it is now, not then, and as you look up at the stars that surround you and your family, you are at peace.

Im just picky at this point lmao
I'm so done with seeing the writing style of
"You asshole, suck a dick." (Aka coloured speech/People speaking is coloured) AND Y/N IS ALWAYS PINK, and it's just the whole fic in general, bc I mostly read Genderneutral stuff even tho my bio says Genderfluid. It's like people hate not having a feminine coded reader, like we get it that's your main style of writing but like drop a hint? Just add a little side note that it's "Feminine coded", and I'm not saying pink is a feminine colour because like be fr it's a colour people :/, but it's how people write the reader ex. 'Y/n applied their glittery lip gloss and popped her pink lips' "Mmm strawberry" and than having the audacity to say that the fic is actually Genderneutral, when THEY LITERALLY USED 'HER', especially cause there are all different kinds of Genderneutral people, some masculine, some feminine all valid. But just a little side note would be nice yk. -_-

Learning their ways
Sully family x reader part 3
Part 1: Eywas mystery
Part 2: time flies
Learning the ways of the metkayina is a struggle for you and your sibling, especially with the teachers you have
Tumblr media
Tsireya had shown your family to your new home and when you got there your father immediately started the “don’t go causing trouble” speech which you knew was directed at Lo’ak
“I want to go home” complained Tuk as she was about to cry, your mother looked at her in sympathy
“This is our home now Tuk” says Jake
“You know what your father always says right” neytiri says softly to her kids
“Sully’s stick together” you all say unenthusiastically
Your parents make you all say it more enthusiastically before you and your siblings are called by the Metkayina kids asking the five of you to swim with them
They swam much faster than you all so eventually you gave up and just started to look at the scenery with Kiri, everything underwater was so beautiful. You spent a lot of time looking at the underwater plants and all the fish that called it their homes. You had spent more time underwater than all your sibling, even Kiri who had a very strong pair of lungs, the Metkayina kids were stunned by this they didn’t think any of you were gonna be able to hold your breath for so long
As you all head back to your marui Lo’ak complains about Ao’nung and his insults te their swimming skills and you just rolled your eyes, while you didn’t like the guy having to hear your brother complain about him was even worse. Once in the marui you and Kiri had your usual talking session before bed it was something that you both had started doing when you were first adopted by the sully family, you both found it was a way to learn about each other back them and now it was just a way to talk about each others day and how you felt about it
~the next day~
Everyone was at the beach shore with some creatures in the water. You though that they we’re probably an equivalent to Ikran back home. Ao’nung said they were called ilus. You, Kiri, and Neteyam had no problem making the bond and riding the creatures… Lo’ak was a different story his ilu thrashed and turned as it moved though the water throwing him off at one point. You felt kind of bad for laughing at him but hey he was your brother you were allowed to laugh at him from time to time.
Suddenly another creature swam toward you all it was much bigger than and ilu and looked menacing. Everyone behind you had taken several steps back on
“Y/N step back please that’s is a skimwing they can be dangerous” Tsireya called out to you worried as the skimwing got closer. You did not budge at her concern, your didn’t budge when the skimwing was right in front of you. In fact you stuck your hand out and pet it the skimwing happily chirping at your affection.
Behind you the metkayina kids jaws had literally dropped at the scene infront of them, skimwing a were a warriors mount known to be fierce not cuddling and excepting of pets like this one was. Tonowari was swimming after the skimwing in hope to get it back under control and let’s just say he did not expect a 14 year old girl riding a skimwing with ease. What surprised him even more was that you were able to do this as a forest Na’vi
“Which one of the Sully kids is she” Tonowari asked his children
“That is Y/N, she is the second oldest daughter” Tsireya said still kind of surprise at what you were able to accomplish. Tonowari nodded as walked off think about how you would probably make a fine warrior in the future
As eclipse you and your siblings had some breathing lessons. While Tsireya taught you all how to breath she put her hand on Lo’aks lower stomach and says to breath from down there. His face exploded in red
“Your heart beats fast” Tsireya says to Lo’ak. You giggle slightly as you exchange knowing looks with Neteyam and Roxto. Kiri rolls her eyes and leans closer to you
“I can’t believe you gave into these foolish actions” Kiri says annoyed by the actions
“Sorry sister” you say smiling knowing that this was the way Kiri jokes around
Lo’ak stays behind to get more lesson while Kiri, Neteyam, and you went back home. Tuk came running into your arms she had missed you all during your lessons.
“What did you guys do Y/N” Tuk says trying to figure out why she wasn’t able to go with you guys to these lessons
“We just learned some breathing techniques Tuk Tuk” you saying playing with her hair
“Then why couldn’t I go with you guys” Tuk whines, her lips forming a pout
“I don’t know Tuk Tuk but do you want me to teach you?” You say in attempt to cheer up your sister
Your sister nods eagerly and you two spend part of the night showing and trying breathing technique

La flor de Kilauea.
Chapter One
Tumblr media
— Māmā a me Pāpā... hoomaha... -La mujer se acercó lentamente a la pequeña y notó como ponía un Lei de flores sobre ambas torres, estaban hechos de una manera desordenada y eran pequeños-
[Mamá y papá... descansen...]
— E pēpē, maikaʻi ʻoe? Ven, te llevare a un lugar seguro. -La mayor examinó a la niña de lejos, tenía algunos raspones y estaba cubierta de tierra pero se veía bien- No te preocupes... ʻAʻole au e hana i kekahi mea iā ʻoe.
[Cariño, ¿estás bien?] [No te haré nada.]

Tumblr media
as a child, your parents weren't the best. they would always leave you out of sight, in the way of danger, with no concern for your safety. nobody in the clan knew of this until one day when your mother and father left you alone again in the forest. they didn't care if you wandered off because you would somehow always end up back home.
you were three years old, almost four, because your birthday was in a week. your parents left you in the same spot they always did, and you waited just a few minutes after they left before you, yourself, departed from the clearing in the trees. you had grown very fond of going to the river just a few paces away from where you were left. you don't know what it was about the water that entranced you, but once you had found this place the first time, it was the only place you ever went.
you didn't have friends back in the village because your family was closed off from the rest of the clan. your parents just don't want people to know how they treat you. you may be young, but you know that this isn't how parents are supposed to treat their kids. you know this because you sometimes observe the other families at the communal dinners. that isn't very often, though, because your parents rarely attended communal dinners.
as you reached your destination, the beautiful river waterfall, you immediately felt serenity upon hearing the rush of the river flow, and the song of nature consumed your surroundings. you would spend most of your time here and then start your journey home just before eclipse, knowing the way back very well now, which is a shame because of how young you are. you spend your time admiring the plants and playing with the fan lizards. although you could get home without any injuries too bad, nothing could have prepared you for the hammerhead titanothere approaching you.
you hear the huff of its breath behind you, creating a gust of wind that catches your attention. terrified to be faced with an enemy like this and not knowing what to do, you ran away, not seeing the hole in the ground that caused you to lose your footing. of course, with your luck, you fell right off the waterfall's edge. the intensity of the wind from the fall, plus the adrenaline rushing through your body, was overwhelming for your tiny body, so you passed out before you even hit the water below you.
fortunately for you, there was a family of five playing in the river bend just below the waterfall. it was their mother who had heard the loud splash. curious about what it was, she walked closer to the water, spotting an unconscious na'vi child floating in the water. she gasped in horror, quickly moving to get you out of the water.
"ma jake, za'u" she yelled as she picked up the child, bringing her over to where her family was gathered.
hearing the distress in his mate's voice, jake stopped splashing with his other two children to see what was wrong. seeing his wife holding an unconscious child was concerning, but even more worrying was that he had seen that child somewhere before.
there was a day he was out hunting for dinner. he had come across a big open area, avoiding it because there looked to be no hunt. but something stopped him. he noticed a small child sitting on a rock all by herself. and as a father, of course, he was concerned because if this were his child, he would be worried sick.
he approached her slowly so that he wouldn't scare her. "hey, little one." it was a gentle greeting that grabbed your attention. you turned to him, unsure who he was, as you didn't really get out much.
"who are you?" you asked innocently. jake was confused that you didn't know who he was because he's the olo'eyktan, but you're just a child, so he brushed it off as childish ignorance. "my name is jake sully. who are you?" he said, sitting down crisscrossed so he could be at eye level with you.
"i'm syulang. hi, jakesulli," you said as you paid more attention to the flowers that were sprouting between the cracks of the rock.
"why are you here, syulang?" jake asked the little girl.
"i'm waiting for my parents to hide because we're playing hide and seek!" she says with a smile.
jake sighed in relief, knowing the girls' parents were nearby and they hadn't just left her there. if only he knew the truth.
"okay, well, be safe little one." the male na'vi stood to his full height, departing and leaving to continue his hunt.
he thought about the little girl from time to time because he seldom saw her around. but right now, seeing you on the ground breathing shallowly, he knew he had to get you to mo'at.
"stay with the kids." jake told neytiri. the mother nodded as she watched her mate disappear into the trees toward their home.
immediately mo'at recognized you as the child who was always missing from her lessons. she figured she would heal you and then ask you where your parents were. mo'at was very quick to aid your wounds, making it easier for your body to replenish your energy. soon you were waking up to the sound of adults talking.
"hello?" you called out.
"oh dear child you are awake," the two women were quick to come dote on you.
"who are you guys?" you asked them weakly, your body still tired.
mo'at and neytiri were shocked. how were you an omatikaya child, and you do not know your own tsahik.
“i am mo’at. i am tsahik of our clan.”
"what is… tsahik?" that question was all the adults needed to hear before they figured out what was going on.
you were missing lessons, found unattended and unconscious, and could barely speak as well as the other na'vi your age. you looked very skinny and borderline malnourished.
your parents were neglecting you.
"who are your parents dear?" neytiri asked.
you gave them your parents' names and explained everything they had ever done to you. you were tired of being hurt. you wanted to be safe now.
immediately jake and neytiri set out to go find your parents, and it only took about 30 minutes. they returned, your parents walking behind them, shame written all over their faces. they were restrained with their arms behind their head. mo'at called an emergency clan meeting, and once everyone gathered, she began her announcement.
"the omatikaya clan is a family. we are to care for our brothers and sisters, look out for our women and children, and protect our home from any dangers. there is a couple here tonight that is about to be banished. let this be a warning to everyone." her statement was punctuated by jake and neytiri dropping the two na'vi to the ground, having them kneel in shame in front of everyone.
"this father and this mother have been neglecting their child. every day they take her outside to the forest and leave her in a clearing to fend for herself. they do this so nobody would find her home alone while they went and snuck around the forest like immature ass teenagers. they didn't want their neglect to be found out because they knew what the consequences would be." jake said in a firm voice.
it was like he was giving a silent warning, a threat, if you will. he wanted everyone in the clan to know that this behavior is unacceptable and that if you're acting of this nature, get your shit together unless you want to end up like these two.
neytiri stepped forward, speaking in a stern and almost menacing tone.
"these two scum are to be banished to the wastelands. stripped of their title as omatikaya, and blacklisted from every clan in the forest. their ikrans will be taken away, and they will not be allowed contact with the child whos precious life they almost stole away. thank eywa that she was brought to me and my family. my husband, olo'eyktan jakesulli and i will adopt her into our family. treat her as one of our own, and give her the love she deserves."
everyone in the clan was cheering at neytiri's speech. as the two scouts prepared to transport the two na'vi to the wastelands, their ikrans took off, having no mercy on their passengers, who had to endure the entire ride.
Tumblr media
being 19 is supposed to be fun, but for you, it's anything but fun. as an omatikayan, your way of life is off the ground. high above the trees, soaring across the skies, scaling countless mountains. everything is high up. and to any everyday clan member, life this way was beautiful, and they wouldn't want to live any other way. but you… you felt differently.
you couldn't stand heights. you had that fall from the waterfall to blame for that. ever since that day, you would never set foot near the edge of the high camps. let alone ride an ikran. you knew from a young age that completing your rite of passage would be impossible.
the only way anyone could get you on an ikran was if they gave you a blindfold. you also needed something to plug your ears and be allowed to death grip the flyer's waist from how terrified you felt as the wind rushed past you.
but this fear of heights also meant that you would never be able to complete your iknimaya. that's what has you so depressed. you just wanted to fit in, look for a mate, and be a teenager like everyone else is, but you can't because you are not seen as one of the people. you're 19, and everyone in the village treats you like you're glass, for crying out loud. even your own family.
you love the sully family. they are your saviors, after all. you were infinitely grateful for them taking you in and treating you as if you were their daughter or playing with you like you were real siblings. you and neteyam became attached at the hip, becoming best friends instantly. you had piqued his interest when he saw you in his grandmother's tent, sleeping while you were healing from your previous injuries.
the next day he was all in your personal space, asking you questions about your cuts and scars and where you gut them from. it confused him when every single one of your answers was the same. "oh, i just got hurt while i was walking home" the boy never questioned it because as he got older, he started to understand what you meant. he began to understand your past without you having to explain it.
neteyam had tried to get you to fly on an ikran before, but you couldn't even make it to the climb up. the height was too immense. you got lightheaded and dizzy just seeing it, absolutely petrified with fear. nete, eventually, gave up trying to slowly inch you up the mountain. when the two of you returned home, jake and neytiri scolded neteyam for doing that to you, knowing how afraid of heights you are.
of course, the boy apologized to you. still, he just wanted you to conquer your fears and pass your iknimaya so the other kids in the village would stop saying things about you behind your back.
everyone knew about your fear of heights, and most of the na'vi your age made fun of you for it. you couldn't help but feel embarrassed because it's not like they're wrong. the omatikayan way of life is in the sky.
Tumblr media
you were returning home from your visit to the nearby river, where you spent most of your time. whether beading necklaces or rebraiding your hair, you were always there. as your home came into sight, you saw your mom and dad sitting outside talking to each other. your mother seemed to be upset about something, so you approached them. "ma sa'nu, is everything okay?" you asked her.
your father sighed heavily, repeating the words that triggered your mother's tears in the first place.
"we have to leave the forest."
Tumblr media
you had been blindfolded for a while now, flying on the back of your mother's ikran. the days were starting to blur together, and you figured you would lose your ability to see because of how long you'd had this damn blindfold on.
as you were about to complain, you could smell the air change. it got lighter and easier to breathe. it smelled fresh, almost like you guys were flying over water now. you tapped your mother's shoulder, and she hummed in acknowledgment.
"sa'nu are we near water?" you asked.
"yes, ma ite, we are. i can fly down so you can touch it if you like." neytiri suggested. your mother quickly picked up on your love for the rivers back home, so she figured that being near a water body would give you some sense of security.
you gasped, nodding excitedly as you felt your mom lower her ikran, which caused you to grip her a bit tighter because you were still afraid.
"you can take your blindfold off," you hear lo'ak yell from above you.
you hesitated a little bit, knowing lo'aks mischievous nature but figured he was right because the scent of the fresh ocean water got stronger.
you slowly slid your blindfold up, your eyes adjusting to the sun as you hadn't looked at anything in a while. once your eyes adjusted, you saw the beautiful blue waters below the ikran's wing. you gasped as you reached down, feeling the cool water against your hands. you noticed a small school of fish following close behind your hand, making you smile. you were starting to feel calm until you heard a horn begin to blow. your mom's ikran started to fly higher, away from the waters, and you screamed, and you put your blindfold back on, quickly latching onto your mother's waist so you wouldn't fall to your death.
as you felt your mother land, you quickly dismounted, planting your feet on the ground, and falling to your knees, trying to control your intense breathing. your mother hadn't warned you that she was going to fly higher, and she felt so bad because you're so shaken up right now.
"ngaytxoa, ma ite. i'm sorry, " she said, pulling you from your knees and into her chest for a hug. she comforted you until she felt your breath ease and then walked with the rest of your family to the center where the clan had gathered.
you took in the environment around you. there was water everywhere. your attention was grabbed by a tall, teal man covered in tattoos and wearing a formal shoulder piece. "jake sully, toruk makto, you have brought your family to my reefs. why?"
your father and the clans' olo'eyktan got to talking, explaining the reasoning for being here.
uturu.
you were absorbed in observing everything around you that you overlooked that the clans' tsahik had also arrived. she went around inspecting all of your siblings, calling them demons, half-bloods. everything in between. but she saw you.
as tsahik, she is the one who interprets the will of eywa, and from you, she feels that eywa is screaming at her that you are special. telling ronal to give you a test of some kind. so she approaches you, ignoring the hiss from neytiri. she still threw her a glare, though. everyone had gone quiet when you noticed the woman standing before you. she examined you, and you were nervous under her gaze. she looked over your arms, hands, ear, tail, and legs. she even pulled at one of your cheeks.
"ow," you said. you hadn't meant to say it. it was just a reflex. and hearing you say ow, triggered neteyam's reflex to protect you.
"hey! don't touch her!" he said as lo'ak held his arm, preventing him from approaching the woman. "neteyam," jake said his son's name in a warning tone. trying to get him to remember that they're here to seek refuge and that making enemies with the tsahik isn't going to help that.
ronal only glanced over at the boy, not acknowledging his words, knowing she hadn't hurt the girl.
"what are you called?"
“syulang te suli neytiri’ite”
"well, syulang, come with me," she said as she grabbed your wrist, pulling you close to the beach's shores. you walked with her, following behind, not wanting to piss off the tsahik.
you two stopped as the water came up to your ankles. she released your hand and gave you a straightforward instruction.
“complete your iknimaya.”
everyone in the clan was mumbling and whispering upon hearing what their tsahik said.
not even their best warriors were able to complete their iknimaya without training. ronal is telling an outsider who has never even seen a skimwing to complete her iknimaya. she's asking the girl to kill herself.
"ronal, ma mate, you can't ask this of a forest na'vi–" her husband tried to argue, but ronal just hissed at him, getting him to shut up.
"she can and she will." ronal said with a strong voice.
"you are trying to kill my daughter and we haven't even been here for 10 minutes." neytiri yelled, jake holding his protective mate back.
ronal continued to disregard everything around her except for you. she gave you a look, one that you read as someone who believed in you. but you don't even know what this clan's iknimaya is.
you slowly walked waist-deep into the water after ronal gave you a push of encouragement to the small of your back. before you could get any further, you noticed something massive approaching you in the water. but for some reason, you weren't scared of it. you remained where you stood as the creature emerged from the waters.
you could hear the gasps of horror and even a few screams.
"ronal, move her at once." tonowari yelled at his wife as he recognized the creature beginning to approach you.
hearing the panic in the olo'eyktans' voice caused the entire sully family to be on high alert. what was that thing? was this woman really trying to kill you? neytiri couldn't even defend you because jake made her leave her bow with their ikrans.
the large animal approach was called, as you heard someone nearby whisper, a skimwing.
you looked it in the eyes as it came to a slow stop in front of you. everyone froze, and ronal turned to the clan. "this young lady, syulang, will complete her iknimaya. she has been chosen by this skimwing–" the tsahik was cut off.
"ma tsahik, you cannot allow this child to ride that skimwing. that is the same skimwing that we have been hunting for the past few months. the one that has been terrorizing the other animals in the reef, he'll kill her." tonowari was stern as he spoke to his wife, but she looked at him as if his words went in one ear and out the other.
"this is the will of eywa. now tell me, mister olo'eyktan, who is the interpreter of eywa's will? hm? me… or you?" she said, voice dripping with venom as she spoke to her husband.
"you are, ma ronal." he sighed in defeat, turning to his hunters, who had their spears ready and aimed at the beast. "standby. weapons down for now. but remain alert." he ordered as he looked at his wife. "i'm trusting you," he said.
"you would be a fool not to, " she said with a sickly sweet smile as she continued her speech that she was rudely interrupted.
"the child will complete her iknimaya right now. this is the skimwing that has chosen her, so this is the skimwing she will ride." she turned you and gave you a basic rundown of how making the bond, mounting, and diving worked. tonowari was there to provide any pointers that his wife may have forgotten to mention.
nobody believed it was possible. a girl from the forest conquering a skimwing? there's no way. the skimwing slightly lowered its head, almost as if it was greeting you. you mirrored its actions and stepped forward. this was a new environment which meant new weather, new scenery, and new animals.
you didn't know how difficult bonding with a skimwing was. so when you walked over to it and quickly created your tsaheylu, mounting its back, everyone in the clan was left speechless. including ronal and tonowari
ronal spoke, her last piece of advice that she wanted to give you before you set off to complete the rite of passage. "the bond is sealed after the first dive is complete. the key is the dive back into the water, that is the true test," she said. you only nodded, feeling your skimwing's steady breath and strong heartbeat.
this all felt so natural to you. the water, the tsaheylu with reef animals, the breeze, the smell of the sea. you felt like you were in your element. like this is where you were meant to be.
'let's go,' you thought, and immediately your skimwing was moving, backing itself into the water, gaining speed as he got further and further out. the wind on your face as you carefully stood up on your skimwing, maintaining your balance. you let yourself embrace the feeling of the air rushing past you. it didn't feel the same as when you were on an ikran. the air felt like it was caressing you, not pushing and pulling you in every which way.
you were enjoying the cool, calm feeling, but you're ready for a thrill. you lower your body onto the skimwing again, preparing for what ronal called 'the real test.' you looked over and saw all the clan people and your family. they were rooting for you, giving you the whoops and cheers of encouragement you needed.
you focused your eyes back on your skimwing, leaning down, so there was no space between his back and your chest. ronal said to get as flat against the skimwing as possible and keep a strong grip on the handle, and you'll be okay.
you took one last deep breath before saying, 'dive.' you immediately vanished from view. nobody could see you anymore. you had dived, and they wouldn't know if you passed the test unless you came back out of the water.
underwater you were having the time of your life. you were going unbelievably fast, and you didn't think you loved any feeling better than this. the adrenaline pumping through your blood only encouraged your skimwing to gain speed. curving around coral and weaving through seaweed, you enjoyed every second of it, but you knew it was time to come back up.
a minute had passed before your family started getting worried. you can't hold your breath that long, can you? what are you doing down there? are you in trouble? did the skimwing hurt you? what if killed you out on the reef and-
before your family's paranoid thoughts could continue, you came splashing out of the water. you released the loudest battle cry you could muster as your skimwing spread its wings, riding the wind.
you reminded jake exactly of your mother, fearless in your element with a strong heart.
everyone on shore was jumping and cheering for you from the beaches. you could see your family from where you were. your brothers looked so proud of you, and your parents too. you weren't letting your fears control you anymore.
you were whooping and celebrating, finally feeling like yourself. you can finally be free from the shackles of the air as you are surrounded by the serenity of the waters. this is really where you were meant to me.
as you rode your skimwing back to the beach, you dismounted and removed your tsaheylu. you were immediately surrounded by both the clan's people and your family. everyone hugged and patted you on the back, congratulating you, a new metkayina clanswoman.
you are one of the people, and your family hadn't even settled into their home yet. as things died down, you spotted ronal walking towards you again, but this time she held an incredibly proud look on her face. she grasped your hand, disregarding the five fingers you inherited from your father, as she spoke.
"she has our dna running in her blood. she has our passion in her heart. she has our strong will in her head and a strong heart, gifted to her by our great mother. she is metkayina!" with the last sentence being said, ronal raised your hand to the sky and repeated herself. "she is metkayina!" the clan rejoiced. one of their own had returned home, and now you are a woman of the clan. of course, they all recognize that you weren't born here, but that doesn't matter. you passed your iknimaya within minutes of being on the island.
since you were seen as a woman of the clan, that also means that you could choose a mate.
boy, let me say, you had a lot to choose from. i mean, every boy in the clan just watched this forest girl conquer the biggest skimwing in history. that's kinda hot... but you decided to focus on your family for the time being. you guys were guided to your home by ronal's daughter, tsireya, as ronal and tonowari left to prepare for your celebration ceremony later that night.
as you finally had a moment with your family, you got to read all the looks of adoration and love. they were so proud of you.
"babygirl, i am so proud of you," jake was the first to speak, pulling you into yet another hug. your mother joined not long after. "you are finally a woman, ma syulang. you must be responsible around the boys of this clan," your mother teases you. "i don't want any grandchildren just yet," she said as she pinched your cheeks.
"hey! no baby talk. she only just came of age." jake said to his mate as she rolled her eyes in response.
"sempu! i've been of age for a while." you argued.
but your father just shook his head.
"no boys until you're 25." he said sternly.
your sister, kiri, tried to defend you, though.
"dad, that's unreasonable. 25??" she complained.
"you too little lady. don't think i didn't see how the chief's son and his friend were looking at you two." you two avoided eye contact at that last sentence.
you exchanged glances, knowing you noticed the two boys noticing you. you two always had girls talk before dinner and then came into the house giggling with each other, refusing to reveal what the two of you were talking about.
your dad hadn't seen the wink and flirtatious smiles that the two of you had sent the boys away. but that was something that you two could talk about later, of course. right now, you just want to enjoy the beginning of your new life.
a new life that would bring a joyful you.
a happier you.
a fearless you.

i’ve never requested anything before so idk how this works but, if you’re still taking request for avatar characters, i’m thinking of a neteyam x reader, like the reader is a really talented warrior and they’re the apprentice of Jake and Both the Reader and Neteyam are constantly in competition to see who’s the strongest and at some point one of them just has an outburst due to all the pressure they have on them. (btw i literally found your account today and i just have to say i love your writing) :))
NETEYAM X READER
Golden child
Tumblr media
———————————————————————
Growing up in the omaticaya clan, the people recognized the spark you had, a passionate flame that burned in your heart. Strong, leading. Everybody knew that you would be someone great, and that’s exactly what you were. You always aimed for the top, always made 1st place, always tried your hardest at everything you did.
And alongside you, the oldest son of Jake sully, neteyam.
The two of you were fairly close in age, you being only a few months younger, and when your parents died, and were given back to eywa, jake felt the responsibility of taking you in, they were in his war party, and you reminded him so much of himself. And Neytiri always wanted a daughter, so you became a sully.
And so it begun. With the two of you, everything had to be a competition. You got your ikran? Neteyam gets his a day later. You catch a fish while hunting? Neteyam catches 7. You can eat 2 fish? Neteyam can at 3. Every waking hour the two of you lived was spent staring at eachother, waiting to beat the other. THe only thing you had above him, was that you were in the war party, and he always on lookout.
“Did you get hurt while on your mission? I guess the sky people are getting too strong for you.” he spoke, noticing the cut on your cheek, the both of you knew he was joking. He pressed a piece of cloth against your cheek, sending a smirk. You just narrowed your eyes, chuckling.
“Being that i was able to come within 10 feet of one, im not worried. How was your little tree a mile away from our spot? Was it nice and warm?” you taunted right back at him, laughing at how his smirk fell. This was such a common interactionbetween the two of you, in which neither of you took it seriously.
Even so, you and neteyam were kind of forced to grow a bond, being that 90% of your time was spent trying to outdo the other. The two of you didnt really know why it was the way it was between you two, maybe the validation you got from jake in being the oldest sibling, or the golden child, who could protect the family. Both of you kindled the same flame, and it made both of you stronger.
So naturally, when the two of you both moved to the metkayina tribes together, along with the rest o the sully family, and learned that you would have to learn the ways of water… It became a rivalry. Who could pick it up faster. Who’s ilu was bigger, who could stay underwater for longer, who could stay out of trouble longer.
ANd to your great surprise, neteyam found himself winning at everything. He was just so fast in adjusting to the world around, he could ride on an ilu within the first days of trying, automatically he was able to understand the breathing techniques of the metkayina clan, he made it look. So . easy.
But you? You couldnt, you didnt even know why it was so hard, tuk even got it within a month. You could barely swim, holding your breath was harder than fighting a sky person in one of those suits, and you just couldnt bond with the nature around, even if it was beautiful. You tried your hardest, practicing for hours longer than you had to, almost feinting from exhaustion every night. But still, things didnt get better like they usually did.
And it tore you apart, youd never not been good at something, even if it was hard at first, you ALWAYS got better at it. That was why this was just so strange for you, so overwhelming to the point that it made you want to rip your hair out. You just couldnt comprehend how he was just so good at everything, that was your job, it's not fun to compete when you arent good at it.
So as a few months past, your agitation grew, and your patience shrunk. Things werent getting better, even Lo-ak was picking things up faster than you, and he never did that. And trust me, everybody noticed, you became snappy, talking back to your dad, refusing to hang out with tuk most of the time, and you even yelled at anuong twice for teasing you. Eventually, jake stopped complimenting you like he did in the forests, and that hurt more than anything else could. Even if it was unintentional.
Eventually, when it all became too much for you to handle anymore, you asked for help. And who else to ask but the one guy you knew had to help you. Neteyam, he had to miss your daily little competitions, so he needed you to get better at… everything.
“Neteyam?” you approached him when the two of you were alone, he was cleaning the saddles of his ilu, which generally was an easy task, actually it was quite calming, so you assumed he would be easier to talk to now.
“Yeah?”
“I- im having trouble-i need you to- could you- um-” you spluttered, you were not known to be shy. Ever. This place is changing too much about you, and you hate it. The only person youd ever really felt comfortable asking for help from was jake, and even then that was only in dire situations. You just didnt know how to do it without feeling weak, feeling inferior.
“Oh? Is somebody trying to ask me for help?” A smirk splayed on his face as he side eyed you, placing the ilu saddle down, he crossed his arms, and stared at you in the same way neytiri would when she would watch you do something stupid. It was condescending. You wanted to punch him in the face.
“Y-yes, I am” his stare sent you into an internal rabbit hole, it was unrelenting, and you could tell exactly what he was thinking. That you were becoming weak. That he finally beat you at something.
“Say it.”
“Really?” You crossed your arms and stared at the boy. He had to be out of his mind to think you would go that low for him to- oh. You were going that low.
“Say. It.”
“Neteyam, please help me”
“Oh wow. What happened to the girl who restled a thanator? Is everybodys favorite Sully losing her spark?” he joked, setting a hand on your shoulder and tilting his head with a smirk. He wasnt serious, the two of you always teased eachother, which was most of the time mean comments, but it never was serious. But at this point, the nights you spent trying to swim instead of sleeping caught up, and your comprehension had ceased to work. Imagine neteyams surprise when his lighthearted joke made your lip start to wobble, and your eyes start to gloss over.
“Yeah- i think i am.” and with those words, your shoulders started shaking, and in a few seconds you dropped to your knees, and were crying like tuk does when she gets hurt. Large sobs racked your chest, and you brought your hands up to your eyes, shielding yourself from the embarrassment that you knew would come with crying in front of the boy that you constantly competed against.
You’d never felt so fucking incompetent before, like you couldn’t contribute anything to the table anymore. It made you want to kill everybody within a ten mile radius.
Immediately when neteyam realized that you were serious, and that this wasnt something you and loak were pranking him with, he also fell onto his knees, and wrapped an arm around your shoulder, pulling you close to him. His hand found it's way to your face, and he pushed the curtain of hair away from your eyes, pulling your hands away your hands.
“No- no don't cry y/n. I Didnt mean it, youre perfect- It was a joke i promise” He spluttered out in any attempts to console you, his eyes met your own, and he just stared. The both of you had experience in consoling younger crying siblings, but it never was you. He didnt think hed ever seen you cry before. It’s like all of his instincts froze up, and he had absolutely no idea what to do.
“Thats the thing Nete. I think youre right- I cant do anything anymore- breathing is hard for me- And dad doesnt look at me like he used to anymore- I just- i don't know what im doing wrong” you squinted your eyes and sniffled, you were just so tired, and overwhelmed. And so fucking done. You wanted to go home, back to what was normal, back where you could function like a person.
“Ma we y/n. Ma we. Y/n, you are the youngest to ever be in the omaticaya war party. Your name is known across pandora, you’ve surpassed the limits of eywa. You are nothing but elite-” he shifted in front of you and placed of his hands on the sides of your face. It forced you to look him in the eyes, and listen to what he was saying.
“Shes gone though- I cant hunt like they do. I am not a warrior of the sea. I can do nothing now. And youre just- you can do everything I can’t” the more you talked, the harder you made it for yourself to stop crying. All of the emotion, all of the anger, the grief, the aggravation, just crumbled. Along with that stupid golden child complex of yours.
“Y/n. Shut up. You are so amazing to me it hurts. The only reason you feel like this is because for the first time, you can’t do something. But that’s okay. I’m here. I see you.” He pressed his forehead to your own, wiping the tears that left your eyes with his thumb. You closed your eyes, and let him embrace you. This was strange, weakened wasn’t something either of you were very keen on showing, especially with him, especially not when it made you feel like this. Like neteyam was more than a rival.
“You promise?”
“Of course. ”
The two of you sat there for a moment, foreheads pressed closely, his hand on your shoulder and your face, comforting you with touch, rubbing circles into your back and wiping tears away. You could feel his breath, his heartbeat. And that alone was able to calm you down. Just him.
Just neteyam.
“I’m sorry- I know this is stupid I just didn’t know who else to ask and I thought you-“ it only took you a few seconds to realize the intimacy of the situation, him holding you, pressed up against your face, if anybody were to see you your parents would throw a fit. Your cheeks flushed a deeper shade of purple-y blue, and you stood up, breaking the locked eyes you had with the boy. He just chuckled.
“Does this mean I win?“ he let out the same giggle tuk might have when you went to throw the ilu saddle at him. Which eventually turned into him tackling you into the water. The two of you laughed, pretending to forget whatever just happened, whatever step the two of you just took in your relationship, trying to avoid whatever feelings both of you were most certainly having all of a sudden.
“Oh shut up”
———
*Bonus*
Anuong And loak watch your two figures from a farther away peer, they had been training when they caught eyes of the two golden silly’s getting a little too close for comfort. Immediately lo-ak was cackling at how stressed neteyam looked being so close to you.
“Let’s make a bet, loser has to do the others chores for a month” anuong spoke, staring at the two of you with intent. Lo-ak raised an eyebrow and smiled, it was so funny, he’d always been able to see it. The two of you were head over heels, you just couldn’t see it.
“I’d give it a week before they’re on top of eachother like mates” he answered, leaning over the edge of the peer and watching the two of press together. He couldn’t blame his brother for being so in love with you , you were amazing. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t use your relationship to his advantage.
“You’re on, fish lips.”

“So what am I supposed to say?” Trudy asked as she looked at Norm who was standing behind her with a smile. “Anything you want our sweet little princess to hear,” he smiles as he places a hand over her swollen belly rubbing it softly and she lets out a giggle.
You focused on your mother's features as you stared at the screen in awe, seeing how happy she was and how much you resemble her.
“Well for starters, I want you to know how much your dad and I are happy to meet you, you came as a surprise to the both of us but we wouldn’t have it any other way.” Trudy smiled as she placed her hand over Norm’s.
Norm stands in the entrance as he watched you watch your mother’s old video log that you watched over a million of times but you never got tired of watching it, tears formed in his eyes as he recalled the memories of the log, how happy he and Trudy was to start their lives over once you made your arrival.
All the plans of having a bigger family flushed down the drains once Trudy made her departure from the world, it almost felt like he was in a recurring nightmare and he would never wake up, if it wasn’t for precious little you, Norm didn’t know how to continue life after losing the love of his life.
Norm saw Trudy in you as you took her looks and he knew you  have the fire she once had, he wouldn’t change that for the world but sometimes it hurt when he looked at you and all he could see was her looking back at him.
He would get reminded that she never got to meet her sweet beautiful copy, missed all the important milestones you achieved and the upcoming ones in the future.
It was hard to raise a child on his own, of course the other scientists helped when they could, Jake and Neytiri pitching in when they were able to, it just didn’t feel the same, it felt like he was alone even if they were other people around him. He needed Trudy, you needed her the most.
Norm knew he needed to be strong for you as he had a promise to uphold, just before Trudy gave her last breath, she told him to of course take care of her babygirl and make sure she grows up to explore how beautiful Pandora could be just like she did, there was no way he was going to let her down.
Norm clears his throat announcing his presence as he strided over to where you sat. “Daddy, when will I see Mama?” you look up at your father once he reaches behind you, a small smile forms on his face as he tries to avoid looking at the screen.
“Mama became one of the stars, anytime you wanna see her, you can look up at the night sky and she will be smiling down at you.” He explains.
“Protecting you from above,” your eyes return to the screen noticing it was going to the end, you could feel a feeling inside of you that never wants to see it end. “Remember that your dad and I will always love you and you will grow up ready to explore the beauty of pandora just like your mommy!”
“One thing to remember is to never let anyone get in the way of your dreams and if they do just come to me and I’ll deal with them,” Trudy's response makes Norm laugh as he bends down to give her a kiss on her forehead.
“We gotta go now, I love you,” she blows a kiss before the video log cuts off. You are left to stare at a blank screen, you stare at it a little more before turning to face your father.
“Can we look at the stars tonight?” you question as you pout up at him and a small smile forms on his face. “Sure, princess.” he respond as he picked you up and place you on his shoulders and you laugh in the process.
After placing on breathing masks, you and your father find a good spot to lay down under the night sky full of stars. Norm points out to the star and you stare at it in awe, a sparkle in your eyes as you listen to the stories he loves to share about her to you.

Hello I was wondering if you could do a platonic relationship with Zuko Levi Kakashi , Gojo with their child that’s like a totally a daddy’s kid(?😭) that wants be like them when they grow up and just looks up to them so much and just mimic the things they do and just follows them+how would they feel about it 🥹🫶
Anime characters as fathers with a child!reader.
Characters include: Zuko, Kakashi Hatake, Levi Ackerman, and Satoru Gojo.
Summary: The character's reaction to their child who looks up to them and aspires to be exactly like them.
Please keep in mind: All character and reader interactions are purely platonic. There is NO romance. The reader is somewhere below the age of twelve and is portrayed as non-binary. These drabbles are meant to be platonic, fluffy and comforting.
Notes: For @bellhella. Hi las, I hope you're doing grand. Cute request too, I enjoyed writing it. I added a tiny splash of angst but everything is still pretty fluffy. I try to make each individual drabble unique and different so that viewers can experience a variety of emotions. I hope that's alright. Remember to keep your head up, stay safe and stay awesome!
✿ೋ──────────────────────
Fire Lord Zuko
Ever since you were an infant, you had always clung to him and taken after him, claiming that you wanted to be just like him when you grew up. It was an attitude that Zuko found endearing and it made him beam with pride. After all of his past mistakes, a part of him was against your aspirations, but he wouldn't let his own insecurities get in the way of your dreams.
At a surprisingly young age- barely over your toddler years- you had requested to train. And train you did. Constantly you were trying your hardest to learn new maneuvers, techniques and skills. When you mastered something, you always sought his approval and praise. Zuko was impressed by how well you accepted constructive criticism and fought to grow.
During meetings or speeches, you would always sit back quietly and observe him. Then later Zuko would have to clear out rooms so that you could pretend like you were the fire lord giving hundreds of people a big, inspirational speech. Just like him.
Zuko, to say the least, was extremely proud of how you were growing and exceeding in life. He was just as attached to you as you were to him, and he would do anything to help you grow up to be healthier, happier and safer than he ever got to be during his childhood.
Today you had been training outside. Your father had been teaching you how to spit fire by using the strength of your stomach. Despite how strict and serious he could be, Zuko loved how you displayed your own ways of having fun. You say you want to be just like him, but you were also just so unmistakably 'you' and he loved that.
But today you did something that he didn't quite like.
"Daddy," You turned towards your father on the bench you were sitting on, "Will you... Will you burn my eye? The left one."
And the way your question made Zuko feel on the inside was far more painful than any lightning strike could ever be. He dropped his goblet and froze, unable to believe that you could ask such a thing. You wanted him to 'burn' you? Burn you in such a way similar to how he had been burned?
"Dad?" You asked in light concern.
Zuko shot up, his hair swishing as he went to stand in front of you, "You- don't you dare ask for something like that ever again. Do you hear me?"
Flinching, you gape and stutter in fear at his sudden outburst of anger, "I..." You didn't know what to say, "I-I'm sorry, I... I just wanted to be like you-"
"By wanting me to burn you? That's how you justify yourself right now? Nonsense. I will not tolerate this irrational behavior. If you ever ask me or anyone else to burn you again, then I swear on my life you will regret it, do you understand me?"
You couldn't believe he was so angry. You stiffened up, tears pouring out your eyes.
Zuko nearly shouted, his arms shaking, "I said 'do you understand me'?"
"Yes," You cried, burying your face in your hands, "I'm sorry, ok. I'm sorry. Please don't be mad, daddy, please-uhh... I'm sorry."
Breathing fast, Zuko stared at you and felt a sudden cloud of guilt envelope him, and he frowned in regret. He didn't mean to be so harsh, nor did he want you to cry. He just... He just couldn't stand the thought of you suffering in any of the ways he himself had to.
Calming down, Zuko took in a deep breath and went to kneel in front of you. He reached out, grabbed your hands and gently coaxed them away from your face, "I'm sorry."
Using a spare handkerchief, Zuko gently cleaned your teary eyes and running nose, "I didn't mean to get so angry with you. I was just... You have to understand, (y/n), not all parts of me are honorable, and that includes this mark. My father gave me this mark because he despised me, and... Well... I don't despise you, so even if I did burn you it wouldn't be the same. It would never be the same."
Zuko cupped your face and stroked his thumb over your left cheek, "Please know that I am grateful that we are not the same in this way, and I hope that we never will be."
"I'm sorry..." You croak, still ashamed of yourself, "I didn't know."
"It's okay," Zuko lifted his arms out, "It's okay. I'm not angry."
Standing up, you go to bury yourself into the divine safety of your father's arms, sadness still beating within your heart, "I love you, daddy."
Zuko smiled and hugged you close, "I love you too, (y/n), and I can't wait to see what an excellent fire lord you're going to become one day. Even greater than me."
You whimpered, still upset but lifted by his faith and understanding. You had made a mistake today, but it was okay. You would never do it again. And while you would like to be just like your father in every way that counts, there were some things that could never be the same no matter how similar the situation.

Levi Ackerman
He woke up to the obnoxious sensation of someone's hand shaking his shoulder, and he groaned grumpily in irritation. "Wake up, daddy," Your ridiculously energetic voice called, "Daddy, come on, it's time to get up."
Levi creaked open his eyes and glared at you, "Hey, wanna know how you can be just like me?"
"How?" You instantly beamed.
"By being tired and going back to sleep," Levi grumbled, grabbing the blankets and yanking them up over his head.
You weren't having any of it though, and you crawled on top of him and began wrestling to get the blanket off. Technically this was how Levi used to have to get you out of bed when you were smaller, but the more you grew the more you wanted to be 'just like him'.
Yay...
By the time you both had playfully wrestled each other out of bed, Levi yawned multiple times while being drug to the bathroom. Darn thing, you were getting good at locating his ticklish spots... In the bathroom, you both brushed your teeth, washed your faces and combed your messy hair.
Although half asleep, Levi still adored how you continously glanced at him to see how he was dressed, what he was doing and how he was doing it. You were always mimicking silly little things he did, exclaiming that you were practicing to be just like him.
Deep down, Levi had nothing but adoration for you. He loved the way you stood to be like him. It made him feel a sense of pride inside that he had such a strong, brave, loyal pipsqueak for a child, and you had no idea how much he loved you.
The only thing Levi disliked about you aspiring to him was how you ranted about joining the Survey Corps and going over the wall to fight titans. Now that... That made his overprotective, paternal instincts scream in disagreement. In no way did he want you going anywhere near the wall. So many people died out there all the time. If he lost you?
Levi wouldn't be able to handle it.
Before breakfast, you got dressed in nearly the exact same outfit as him (courtesy of Hange). "Daddy, can I wear your cape-thingy?" You asked, already wrapped up in his cape.
"Well what do you expect me to wear?" Levi asked, soaking in the endearing display of you all twisted up in his cape.
"I don't know..." You mumble innocently, smiling, "A blanky?"
"Ha... ha... Very funny, squirt," Levi bent down to untangle you from his cape, bopping you on the nose and pinching your cheek, "Why don't I wear this and 'you' go wear the blanket."
"Mmm..." You pouted at him, "But daddy..."
Levi hid a smile and patted your head fondly, "What if I told you that I used to do the same thing when I was your age?"
"Really?" You asked in surprise. If he wore blankets when he was your age, then that meant that you could do the same thing- follow in his footsteps, "Yay!"
"I never said 'yay' though," Levi rolled his eyes, teasing you.
Your arms dropped as you sneered at him, reacting in a manner he would approve of, "Booo..."
"That's more like it," Levi chuckled and went to make some food.
After breakfast, you held your father's hand while walking to the training grounds, a small blanket secured around your neck to thus act like a cape. When you saw the leader of the Survey Corps, you instantly brightened and cheered, "Erwin!"
Erwin looked in your direction and smiled warmly, "Ah, there's my finest cadet."
Levi watched as you sprinted happily up to his leader, his heart skipping beats when Erwin picked you up and lifted you into the air a bit. Your smile and the sound of your laughter was the inspirational fuel that powered his life.
Blindly joining you and his leader, Levi shrugged and gave you a disapproving look, "Just so you know... I've never hugged that imbecile- not once."
Erwin raised a brow, "On the contrary, I remember once when-"
Levi gave him a death glare, "Dont. Even."
You giggled and said joyfully, "Daddys silly. He loves hugs."
"Yes, that is correct," Erwin chuckled and turned briefly to grab something out of the satchel on his horse. "Come, fellow cadet, I brought you something."
"What is it?" You asked.
Levi felt his chest nearly implode at the sight of a miniature cape. The cape itself was plain with no logo, but yet was perfect enough in size that it would fit you for years to come. He watched as Erwin helped replace the blanket you were wearing with it.
Once he was done, you hugged Erwin, thanked him a dozen times, and then ran over to your father, "Daddy, daddy look! I have a cape, an-and it's just like the one you have. Do you like it, daddy? Do I look like you?"
'The spitting image.' Levi smirked and knelt down, "What're you talking about, squirt? You've got way too much energy to be like me."
"Booo," You pouted at him.
Levi laughed and pulled you into a big hug, "It looks good on you, kid. Now, let's get training."
You would be like him one day. Only Levi believed that you would be better.

Kakashi Hatake
It was night time; five hours after the Chunin Exams were declared over. You were currently hiding in your little tree-bungalow, isolated, quiet and shut-off from the rest of the world. Ever since you lost the exam, you hadn't moved from your hidey-hole nor spoken to anyone.
It broke Kakashi's heart to see you this upset. He knew how hard you had been training to keep up with him, following him in his footsteps and mimicking specific personality traits like his attire and the way he fought. At first it was a habit Kakashi thought was pretty adorable, but as the seriousness of your obsession grew over the years, the more he began to grow concerned.
Kakashi didn't mind you taking after him, but there was a limit. You didn't understand it because you envied him too much, but he saw it. You weren't like him- at least not when it came down to your fighting spirit. See, Kakashi developed a cold heart at a young age. Anger, hatred and determination pushed him to become stronger.
But you weren't cursed with anger, hate and sadness. You weren't a natural born fighter. If anything, Kakashi could see you becoming a strong-willed medic or a superior ginjutsu artist, but definitely not anyone who wants to hurt another person physically. It just wasn't how you were. And Kakashi was grateful for that.
Sighing softly, Kakashi jumped up to the ledge of your tree-bungalow, crouching as he waved, "Hey, dongo."
You didn't say anything from where you laid on the wooden floor. Kakashi frowned at the sight of your multiple bruises and bloody bandages. He really shouldn't have let you take that exam. "Can I come in?"
You nodded.
Kakashi moved a ways in further, finding himself a spot against the wall and leaning against it, "How are you feeling?"
For a few seconds you didn't answer. Kakashi tilted his head in concern when he noticed that you were shaking, the sound of sniffles soon filling the air, "I... I... I'm a failure, daddy."
You looked at him, your mask a mess as you sobbed behind it, "I'm a failure-uh! I-I-I just wanted-uh- t-to be like you..."
"Whoa, hey, it's okay," Kakashi leaned forward, placed a hand on your shoulder and squeezed softly, "It's okay, (y/n). You're not a failure."
"Yes I am," You whined, "You passed the Chunin Exams when 'you' were six, b-but I? I... How am I supposed to be like you now, daddy?"
This? This is what broke Kakashi's heart. You getting upset all because you failed to amount to a broken monster like him. "Oh, dongo, come here," Kakashi lifted his arms out.
You still cried as you crawled into your father's lap and leaned against the warmth and safety of his chest. He slipped a finger up and tugged your mask down to your chin thus making it easier to breathe. You whimpered, clinging to him as shame blurred your heart.
"I wanna talk to you about something," Kakashi held you securely while going to wipe your nose with his sleeve, "I understand why you're trying so hard to follow in my footsteps, but I believe that your ambitions are misguided."
"What... What do you mean?" You ask him sadly, confused, "I wanna be like you."
"I know, but perhaps you are trying a little too hard? I mean, you've even gotten to the point you won't eat the food 'you' love anymore all because it's not my preference."
"But... That's how I be like you, daddy," You exclaim.
Kakashi sighed, looking you in your big, teary eyes. He couldn't believe that it had come down to this, but he couldn't hold it in any longer, "(y/n)... I don't want you to be like me. I want you to be like you."
You jerked at that, gaping hurtfully, "What?"
"I know it sounds harsh, but I want you to know that what I'm saying to you right now is in no way meant to hurt you. I just want you to stop pushing yourself so hard to be something you're not. Yes, we are alike in many ways, but we're also different. And those differences are what make us unique- they define who we are and how we grow. And if you continue to grow ignoring all those important things about yourself, pretending to be something you're not, then I fear that you'll never be completely happy. "
You blinked at him, fiddling slowly with your hands and bowing your head, "I..."
Kakashi cupped your face, lifted your chin and wiped away your tears, "You failed the exams today because you weren't ready, (y/n). You're using fighting techniques that don't suit you because they're 'mine'. You haven't even tried to discover your own fighting skills yet. Haven't you ever been curious?"
"But..." More tears began leaking out of your eyes as you looked at him, "I-I love you so much and I... I wanna be just like you-huh."
"(y/n)," Kakashi said lovingly as he pressed your foreheads together, "You can still be just like me by doing the things that make 'you' happy. I'm a great ninja, and you can be one too if you simply try to be more like you instead of me. No matter what, just know that I'll always, always be proud of you and love you till the day my chakra runs out."
You sniffed at him, still upset by your failure but relieved that your father still loved you despite it all. Yes, you wanted to be just like him, but maybe being yourself sometimes too wasn't such a bad thing either.

Satoru Gojo
When people looked at you, they felt as if they were looking at a miniature Gojo but with a different hair color. You were quite literally the spitting image of your father, and anyone who knew you or Gojo personally would know that you two were practical besties.
Ever since you were born, you magically seemed to take after Gojo- not that it was your fault because Gojo had a really bad habit of dressing you up like him and pretending that you were the world's greatest sorcerer... Besides him, of course. He couldn't help it. You were his little pal and he loved you more than anything.
As you grew, you pretty much wore identical outfits to that of your father. You had even acquired a pair of reflective sunglasses that you wore almost ninety-percent of the time. But outfits weren't the only areas where you excelled in being like him.
Gojo, even as a parent, wasn't afraid to push people to their limits, especially when they genuinely wanted to become stronger. Ever since your powers developed, he had trained you constantly in order to help you learn and grow. You were exceptional like him, and he knew that there was no time to waste.
Your father pretty much took you everywhere and that even included trips on his most dangerous missions. He would carry you on his hip or back while you watched and listened to him explain how to observe and take down enemies. Later he would quiz you, tossing toys or pieces of candy at you in reward.
Some say that Gojo wasn't so much a father to you as he was a best friend. Especially on days when he didn't have to work or train. He happily expressed his childish side, playing games with you, playing dress-up, going to carnivals, riding on miniature scooters, cooking or coloring pictures. He did it all. It was almost as if he loved being like you as much as you loved being like him.
Every time you expressed your admiration and love for him, Gojo's ego was stroked and his confidence boosted. Of course you wanted to be like him. Why wouldn't you? Narcissistic nature aside, Gojo had to admit that there was a sense of self-worth that he felt deep inside at the fact that you loved him and took after him so strongly. It made him happy. He was always proud of you.
And today he was even more proud of you.
You had just successfully made your very first domain expansion- it was rough, unstable and destructive, and it only lasted a few tiny seconds, but it was still a success. A success... That nearly destroyed the house.
Fushiguro, his cereal now all over the floor in ruins, sat in his chair with a frustrated glare on his face, "What kind of monster have you created?"
Gojo was practically dancing like a feather in the wind, singing excitedly, "One that can make domains at (age) years old."
"Oh brother..." Fushiguro rolled his eyes, gesturing to your unconscious body, "Shouldn't you be helping them?"
"Eh?" Gojo blinked ignorantly, concern flooding his body at the sight of you laying unresponsive on the floor, "Aw, we can't be having any of that now, can we?"
Teleporting over to your body, Gojo scooped you up and took you to the medical bay. It was soon confirmed that the force of your actions had merely knocked you out and given you a bloody nose. With a good lecturing from Nanami about "being a better parent", Gojo carried you back home with an endless grin on his face.
"Daddy?" You groaned in his arms.
Gojo gave you no time to talk as he leaned down and nuzzled your cheek, singing again, "Oh my incredible, amazing, talented, devilishly striking, little sorcerer, I'm so proud of you. You did your first domain expansion. Ohhh, I could cry I'm so happy."
Albeit exhausted, you still grinned in his arms and nuzzled his cheek back. It was always a good feeling to witness your father this excited after one of your successes went through. Still though, that move had taken a lot out of you. "Sleepy."
"I bet," Gojo chuckled, maneuvering you to his hip so that he could properly make his way through the mild debris of the house, "You've rightfully earned yourself a nice bath, a delicious meal, and a warm bed."
"With the heated blanky?" You softly croak.
Gojo stuck his thumb up, "Especially with the heated blanky. You've earned it."
"Thank you, daddy," You whimpered, hugging him and pressing the side of your face against his chest. His heartbeat was fast but comforting, his figure safe, warm and protective. You were so happy that you had managed to pull off such an advanced technique.
Prepping you a bath, Gojo let you wash while he was forced to clean up your mess by the ever fussy Fushiguro- aka: the real adult of the house. After you were both done, he fed you something that would soothe your tummy, and then carried you to bed.
Wrapping you up in your heated blanket, Gojo knelt down and caressed your head, "Good job today, my little jujutsu sorcerer. You really made daddy proud."
You whimpered happily and mumbled, "I hope I can do better. I wanna be just like you one of these days."
Gojo smiled, all the love he felt for you fueling his desire to keep moving forward in this cruel world, "You already are, (y/n)... You already are."

Sweet Visions of a flower
Summary: Syulang (OC), an orphaned girl after the destruction of Hometree. She is constanly reminded of this by her amputated left leg and constantly dreams of her deep trauma. Even when she gets adopted by Toruk Makto and his wife, who she resented for over six years before forgiving him.
A/N: We are almost at the end now (I hope). And I'll post a one-shot before uploading The Humans of Awa'atlu or another series that just starting. Also just a heads up; I'll be taking a break from the 4th to the 11th of May, I will continue to upload even when I'm not writing using the automatic uploads system, hopefully, it works because I'm not using the internet for a whole week. Finger's cross until then. But for now, here's part 8!
Part 8 of 10
Tumblr media
Neytiri put her hand on her oldest daughter's shoulder and arm, trying her hardest to calm her. In her attempt Neytiri started singing, her voice slightly quivered as she raised her voice over her daughters crying, she leant closer to her ear singing to distract Syulang. She brushed the hair of her daughter away from her face and planted a soft kiss on her forehead, Syulang calmed down enough that Neytiri softened her voice down, repeating the lyrics to the song.
Jake entered with his children in tow. Arriving next to Syulang, hushing her down and rubbing her left leg to try to ease the pain. When Mo’at finally entered the tent a while later, she found the whole family there next to Syulang. Jake quietly left Syulang’s side to talk to Mo’at.
“It was like I entered her dream,” he was still in disbelief of what happened, “I saw Eytukan, and Tsu’tey. They said that they feared her soul would not reach Eywa if or when she dies.”
“This is truly concerning. We'll have to go to the Tree of Souls, I’ll be able to enter her dream there. I believe I could help her,” Mo’at rubbed her chin as she thought, “This is decided, I will enter her dream tonight. But in the meantime, I suggest you go on about your duties as Olo’eyktan.”
“Yes, Tsahik. And thank you,” Jake took one last look at Syulang. Taking off to deal with Quaritch and his group of Dreamwalkers.
Taking arms again, he called for a few of his warriors and Tarsem, his Olo’eyktan in training. Taking flight on their ikrans, they flew to another smaller floating island, hoping the RDA hadn't found them yet.
Landing in the trees. Jake and the group jumped down onto the floating rock. The recombiants all bound to different trees. Jake made his way to Quaritch, squatting down to look into his eyes.
“So you finally decided to show up,” Quaritch sneered.
“Your lucky I didn't leave you here to just starve,” Jake stoically said.
“Why wouldn't you? You already betrayed your own race, I bet you’d do it again,” the colonel's southern twang drawled. Jake scoffed at that. “Now why don't you answer my question? How did’ya know we were gonna be here?” Quaritch repeated, for the fourteenth time.
“Let's just say Eywa gave me a sign,” Jake shrugged, “Now tell me, who sent you here?” Quaritch snickered.
“Remember Ardmore?”
“Heard of her, never met her.”
“Oh yeah, she’s back. Wants you dead, same as me. Same as everyone here,” Quaritch leant a little bit to look at his team, who were staring daggers at Jake.
“Is that why you're here…in this body? To kill me?”
“Oh…It's not just you Jake. You're mate too…Let's just say, we wanna end your bloodline, that means your kids too.” Quaritch sneered, Jake stiffened. His eyes burning with a rage he had never felt before.
“Well, thanks for the heads up,” Jake nodded to Tarsem and the other warriors who drew their knives at the recoms, poking the tip of it at the recoms neck.
“You dare–” Quaritch began to say.
“Or what? No one is coming for you. Where’s Ardmore huh? She’s not here, and I'll more than happily send you and your soldiers back in body bags. Especially after you threatened me!” Jake yelled at Quaritch to which he snarled, “So do you all want a quick or slow death? Take your pick.” Jake pointed his assault rifle at Quaritch’s head, ready to pop some bullets into his head.
Everyone was bug-eyed and silent, Quaritch knew he was fucked. He had no more options, only death. But there was a third option that the adults didn't see, they were too bloodthirsty. That third option came in the form of Syulang flying onto the island.
“Father!” Syulang shouted, sliding off her ikran running into the fray, “Stop! It doesn't have to end this way! Please, listen to me before you make a mistake.”
“Syulang! You should not be here!” Jake stood, yelled at his daughter.
“Please, just listen to me. There's another way, please,” Syulang stepped between Jake and Quaritch.
“No! There isn't! This guy! This guy…!” Jake pointed at Quaritch, “He wants us dead, he wants your mother, your siblings dead!”
“Please, There’s another way,” She begged, “There is another way. Another way that doesn't end with death,” she said in English this time. Jake panted, his heavy breath fogged a little from the altitude. He sighed deeply, exhaling through his nose.
A small movement from above caught his eye, looking up he saw an atokirina’. A seed of the great tree floating down onto Quaritch’s head. Syulang gasped with wide eyes a little, her hand covering her mouth in disbelief, catching Jake’s attention, he turned to see the same scene happening to the other recoms. An atokirina’ gently landing on their heads, his warriors’, Tarsem looking around to all the recoms with the seed of the great tree upon their heads. Finally they floated off at the same time. Tarsem and the warriors removed their knives from the recom’s neck, taking a step back awaiting further instructions.
“Eywa has spoken,” Syulang turned to Quaritch, “If you want to live. You must turn your back on those who control you. You are no longer human, you have been given a second chance at life. And in order to do that, you must become Na’vi.”
“You’re asking me to betray humanity?” Quaritch looked up at the girl, his eyebrow raised in questioning.
“You are no longer Human. We Na’vi have a saying; ‘Fwäkì ke fwefwi’. It means: Mantis doesn’t whistle; don’t expect someone to do something that isn’t in their inherent nature…Or something like that,” Syulang explained.
“The hell does that mean?”
“You are Na’vi, it is your nature. Everything you knew no longer matters. The blood that runs in your veins is Na’vi. Your body, Na’vi,” Syulang crouched to Quaritch’s form, “But, your heart,” she pointed to his chest, “Your mind,” she pointed to his head, “Your memories remain human. Everything that happened in the past, is the past.” She looked down to her amputated leg before continuing, “You can choose to let your past consume you, or give you a reason to change your heart.” She turned to look at Jake. Her father. “That day when Hometree fell, you took more than just my leg. You killed my family. And I blamed Jake, I blamed you. But in time I forgave him, he gave me a reason to keep living. Even every day when I'm in pain, I still…keep…going.”
The look in Quaritch’s eyes changed, almost sympathetic. So did Jake’s.
“It was Eywa’s plan. It has always been her plan,” Syulang finished, standing up from her crouched position. Jake moved closer to Syulang wrapping his arm around her shoulders, giving a comforting rub. A silence fell upon the crowd. Quaritch was thinking, weighing his options. He fucking hates Ardmore, has had enough of taking orders. Heck, he just wants a simple life, he wants to stop fighting too. He was just following orders, and now he’s been given that exact opportunity that he so desperately craved. He knows the recoms would follow him, they trust him after all but he’ll still ask them.
“I'm done fighting. What do you guys think?” Quaritch asked out loud, enough for the other recoms to hear. They didn't say anything at first, probably considering following Quaritch.
“Me too,” it was Lyle, “I didn't want to be reborn like this, following orders again when I should've stayed dead.” A few chorused his statement, agreeing with him.
A flurry of “I'm done fighting too” and “me too” responses or something to the same tune from the other recoms. Falling silent again. Jake was speechless, and Syulang smiled.
“The RDA will come back. They'll come looking,” Jake reminded them, “There’ll be more bloodshed.”
“I know. Like I've never seen it before,” Quaritch scoffed. He sighed, taking a moment before saying words Jake would've never heard in a billion years come from Quaritch, “I'm sorry. You’re right. I'm sorry for threatening you too…and your family.”
“I still don't trust you though,” Jake stated.
“Yeah, I know.” Then came something from Jake that Quaritch never expected, “Cut them loose. Cut their restraints. You'll stay here. We’ll bring you food, water and new clothes, but no weapons…not yet, anyways. Until we figure out what to do with the RDA, we’ll come to you with our plans.”
***
Returning to High Camp, Jake couldn't help but look at his oldest daughter. He thought he could see Tommy in her, though she wasn't related by blood, but it was as if she had Tommy’s spirit. He also saw himself in her, her words still resounding in his brain. ‘You can choose to let your past consume you or give you a reason to change your heart.’ Even her physicality, it reminded him of his human form. How fragile it was, how he destroyed himself further by using alcohol to deal with his problems, but also how he was given a second chance to live through Tommy’s avatar.
Neytiri was waiting at the entrance of High Camp, full of nervous energy and agitation. Syulang took off when no one was watching and Neytiri and the rest of the children searched the whole of High Camp looking for her, climbing all the high spots to get a better view of the whole camp. So to see her return on her ikran with Jake and the warriors Neytiri was overjoyed that she was safe. Enveloping her in a crushing embrace.
“Urgh, Mom! You’re crushing me,” Syulang croaked out, Neytiri fussed whilst looking over every inch of her oldest daughter making sure there was not a single scratch. It looked like Neytiri was about to explode when Jake pried his wife off Syulang.
“Ma Neytiri, she’s fine,” Jake hushed his wife, taking a step away before looking at Syulang, “How did you know where to find us? We never told anyone.”
Syulang averted her eyes, “I…Uh. I had another vision?”
“Damn. You're gonna become the next Tsahik at this rate,” Jake chuckled, though he was still a bit angry that she left the healing tent and High Camp. “How did ya know what to say to Quaritch? Was that also in the vision?”
Syulang just nodded, looking down at her feet. A smirk grew on Jake's face.
