Dean also picks up his girl, Emma, who is down and just wants to go home. At home she explains she is being excluded by the girls and that the group leader, Michelle said it was because she was weird. That she was weird because her dad was weird. Turns out that is because Michelle’s parents both had beef with Dean in high school. Dean decides to give Emma an awesome new hair style himself. YouTube has loads of tutorials!

Emma’s hair turns out amazing and Claire wants that kind of do as well. Long story short: They somehow all end up at Castiel’s place, where Dean teaches him how to give Claire a dip dye. The girls are loving it and chatter happily, unintentionally letting slip that not all of the other girls had permission from their parents to get their hair dyed.

They simultaneously manage to show Dean’s old bullies true colours to the other parents. During all of this, they start crushing on each-other.

Lodged in the center of the bloodstain, Sword in the Stone -style, a knife that appears to be made of nothing, an absence in the matter of the room. 

Dean tries to nudge it with the tip of his shoe, and his boot goes right through. 

Outside the room, a noise. Sam and Dean share a glance and exit the bedroom, guns ready.

MAN: (looks around the living room, whistles) Guess I’ve got my work cut out for me.

DEAN: Who the fuck are you?

MAN: The name’s Holden.

DEAN: (eyebrows raised, more than a little condescending) As in Caulfield?

HOLDEN: As in Driscoll. (flicks a rag onto his shoulder) I’ve been dusting these knickknacks for the last six years.

SAM: You’re the housekeeper?

HOLDEN: What, were you expecting a short skirt and fluffy feather duster? Only on my nights off. (winks)

what I didn't take on too many things for the @deancasanimebang what are you talking about (nah but four is probably a little excessive, even for me. there were just too many options gjkfd)

this one is for an Avatar: the Last Airbender crossover, and I didn't actually see even a minute of the show before swooping in and snatching up the fic to make art for and that probably says something about me...maybe

this bang had a unique thing where way more artists signed up than authors so every fic had two artists to go with it. my partner for this one was @alicetallula, who did two additional art pieces found here :0

we actually did this banner together with them doing the character line art (hence why they don't have disproportionately huge heads and/or eyes) and text and me doing the coloring and background. never done a collaboration or anything like that before so this was actually really fun to try out and I think it did turn out pretty good, even if my coloring skills aren't exactly exceptional gfdhuj

did this piece on my own, with Cas showing Gabriel his waterbending skills in the form of bubbling some fish (which get eaten in the fic :'0). the grassy is kinda messy and the angle is definitely a new one for me, but various people in the bang's chat as well as my art-partner for this bang helped ensure I didn't fumble anything too badly and the people still looked like people (or as much as they ever do in my style anyway)

tallula really helped me make the bubble look like a bubble and was also just really fun to bounce ideas off of in general? really improved both art pieces I think and it was maybe just nice to have someone to talk/complain to as well ahghfdj

overall I did enjoy working on this fic though both because of the team and just the the fic itself. also forced me to finally slide atla off my ever-increasing and never-decreasing to-watch list and onto my equally stagnant currently-watching list 🎉

Bone tired, Castiel shrugged on his trusty trenchcoat and dragged himself home. Most days he loved walking home, especially after a refreshing shower had cleared the air like today, but now he was on edge, looking around for the smallest sign of something that might be Dean. That was why he noticed movement in the bushes a bit to the side of the road. He approached carefully, not sure what to expect. Whatever he had thought, a bedraggled, wet dog, wasn’t it. “Hello, you,” he cooed. The dog snapped his head up and Castiel gasped. The animal’s light eyes seemed to pierce his very soul. “Wow. You are a beauty, aren’t you?”

The dog laid its pointed ears flat and from the rustling behind it, Castiel deduced it wagged its tail twice. Careful to not spook the animal, Castiel traced the fluffy neck with his hands, looking for a collar, but not finding it. “You’re a stray. I’m too exhausted to take you to a vet. You don’t look rabid, or fleabitten, so I’ll take my chances. Amara might bust my chops tomorrow, but I can’t look into your adorable face and leave you out here. It’s supposed to rain more tonight. C’mon, you fluffball, I’ll give you some burger meat…”

At the word burger, the dog’s ears snapped up and its soulful expression cheered up. A doggy grin appeared and a pink tongue lolled out. Castiel bit his lip. He had no rope or anything to lead the dog home with. “How do I get you to follow me, buddy? I can’t even grip your collar.” The dog did a little head tilt, ears pricked. Then it trotted from the bushes and shook itself, ears flapping and spraying water everywhere. Castiel jumped back with a startled ‘Hey!’ The dog looked at him with that silly doggy grin, and Castiel chuckled. “Alright,” he said, wiping the droplets off his face. “I guess I’ll just hope you’re going to follow me.” He started walking and to his relief, the dog trotted along.

His footsteps were determined, as if they had a goal. Which was a lie. He was basically wandering the empty, darkened streets that gleamed with the sheen of wet tarmac. His mind, unbidden, threw up a song and he smirked to himself in the dark.

Well, he didn’t have a brim, because he wasn’t wearing a hat. He did have a collar he turned up against the steady drizzle dripping into his exposed neck.

Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet

Accurate description really. The streets were empty and cold, so there wasn’t anybody else there.

Machine guns ready to go

He surreptitiously patted his inside pocket. It wasn’t a machine gun, but a good handgun. Yet his intentions were to never really use it. He just hoped to get noticed by the right people. And then… then he could get what he wanted.

A movement to his left made him turn around, wondering, hoping, but it was nothing but an alley cat. His tensed shoulders sagged and he scoffed at his own jitters. He really should man up before he got in. All of a sudden he got grabbed, arms wrapped around his upper arms and torso, pinning him. A sharp pain in his neck followed. He tried to fight, but the grip on him was solid and not to be broken. “That’s it, buddy,” a soft, gruff voice crooned in his ear. “Time to go night-night.” He struggled and wormed, but all it earned him was an annoyed grunting from the person behind him, and a soft tutting from his partner. After a while his limbs grew super heavy. As darkness crept in on his vision, he muttered a soft “Fuck…” into the jacket he face-planted against.

An obvious invitation to come over and talk, but Abby had told him her name was Meg Masters, and Castiel was pretty sure he had heard that name before. A flirtatious lady, with the questionable reputation of being only interested in men who could deliver her something she wanted. So he nodded at her, ignoring the inviting smile on those scandalously red painted lips. She winked at him and he missed the next introduction. A bit ashamed, he turned to the woman, who was running her gloved fingers through the ribs of her fan. Another one wishing to speak with him. He was about to open his mouth and say he was not interested, when she opened it and covered her left ear. ‘Do not betray our secret’. Castiel gulped.  He snapped his eyes to the woman’s face and swallowed again. She looked nothing like the frail little porcelain dolls he was used to seeing at these meetings. She stood even taller than Castiel himself, with a bit of a square jaw and angular features. Yet she was striking. Her plush lips were pink and the lashes that hid her eyes were long and soft. “Pardon my rudeness,” Castiel begged as he gave a short bow. “I was distracted and didn’t catch your name.” Abby saw he was willing to talk to this lady and kindly told him this was lady Deanna.
