he’s like seated by the fire right. just sulking, brooding—you know, as per usual. the feast had commenced some time ago, and now the clan was scattered in clusters, just laughing, conversing, drinking (whatever the na’vi equivalent to earth alcohol was)—and then, you come in. 

well, you don’t just come in—you’re dancing, and it’s not just you. there’s a line of na’vi women parading through the clearing, all dressed in fancy garments (suited for dancers), ululating and gyrating their hips. amongst these experienced women, you stick out like a sore thumb. not because you’re dancing particularly bad, but because the line depresses drastically in height when it gets to you. but it’s cute, he thinks. adorable, even. 

usually, you’re a clumsy little thing, but right now you have this aura about you. it’s something fierce—and with every step, every twirl of your arms, and shake of your hips, he finds himself teetering closer and closer to the edge of his seat. 

and your eyes? your eyes haven’t left his since you stepped foot into his peripheral vision. they’re darker in color compared to his, but the amber hue flames of the fire light them ablaze. calling him, luring him—like a siren, and he, an unfortunate sailor who’s fallen into his own trap. 

when you round his section, you circle around him. once, twice, three times. his head is on a swivel, eyes never leaving yours as you make your way to the fire. 

you’re only dancing. it’s not like he hasn’t seen this exact same dance hundreds of times, with these exact same garments, and these exact same women who prance around seductively teasing men—because he has. a many of times. but…this was different, intimate. in a way that he couldn’t quite explain. 

and now you’re leaving your place around the fire and women, striding up to him all gracefully. he’s so entranced that he doesn’t process that you’ve grabbed his hands, nor does he process that he was now standing, and walking with you to the fire, and—

“wait, wait, what are you doi-“

but he’s already too far to turn back. he has to commit, especially since all eyes were now on you and him. this was calculated. an attack on his very name and the reputation that he’s so carefully crafted over these past few years. 

see, the thing about neteyam is…he doesn’t dance. he never got the chance to just goof around growing up, not like lo’ak, especially not like lo’ak. no, he was too focused training, and sparring—being primed for war. when you grow up with responsibilities that only an eldest child can be burdened with, you don’t dance. 

“i do not dance,” he tries to pull away, but to no avail. your grip on him is vice and your eyes are fierce, a silent assurance that you were not to be trifled with, at least not now, while there are stares. he surrenders his body to you, lets you pull him deeper into the abyss. 

for a while, he stands there rather awkwardly, just shifting side to side as you walk circles around him. moving just enough to appease you, but not enough to look like he’s enjoying himself. you’re not the least bit impressed, though. you know he can do better. much better. 

“stop being so rigid, move your body,” you poke his side, earning a playful hiss. “i want you to copy me, look, mimic my movements.” you back away slowly, swaying your arms side to side and whirling your fingers up to the sky before letting them drop in front of your face—palms facing outward, fingers spread. 

when he repeats it, you press your palms together, peeking through your fingers. in this moment, there is nobody else. just you, him, and the fire. eyes staring back into eyes, two souls connecting. now that he’s so close, he can see just about every detail of your irises. 

they’re not as dark as he’s always thought them to be, there’s a sparkle behind them. a light or fire that flickers brightly, and he can see himself, too. a mirage of himself burning in the fire. he doesn’t want to look away but then you’re backing away again, laughing and spinning wildly, and he tries to reach for you but you dodge his advances. catch me, you mouth. catch me. 

faster than he can blink, you end up behind him. playfully, you pull his tail and when he spins to stop you from doing it again, you stumble backwards. before your body has the chance to hit the soil, he catches you. lean, strong arms taking you into his hold: one supporting your neck and the other on the small of your back. there it was. that clumsiness.

“dancers are supposed to move with grace,” he whispers teasingly, his face so close to yours you can feel the warmth of his breath, “that wasn’t graceful.” he wants you to take the bait. take the bait, take the bait, take the bai—

“oh, mr. ‘i don’t dance’ is critiquing me now?” you bite. it took a second for you to answer him, partly because you were trying to come up with something slick to respond with, but mostly because of the proximity. his eyes were pretty, too pretty for a smug little shit like him. “guess the student becomes the master.”

he laughs in the interstice of your neck, pulling you up slowly to your original vertical position. eventually, the music begins to come to a somber decrescendo, signifying the end of the song, and you two quickly remember the audience surrounding you. 

“find me later,” you say into his ear. his tail shoots up from the insinuation. “i can teach you something else that isn’t dancing.”

SEBASTIAN SALLOW: This boy is a snake. Full body wrapped around MC like a python. He won't let go easily, either. But he's warm and gives many kisses, so the entrapment is worth it.

OMINIS GAUNT: Physical touch has rarely led to good things in his life so MC will need to be patient with him. Once their relationship is to the point that he feels safe with them, he cuddles with his hands constantly mapping their body. He will have every part of them committed to memory.

ANNE SALLOW: She likes laying on top of them with her face on their chest. She finds their heartbeat soothing. She also likes hearing it speed up when she's feeling cheeky.

IMELDA REYES: Physical touch isn't one of her love languages, so she doesn't go out of her way to cuddle them. She doesn't reject it, She finds MC's affection cute, but she'll be reading or messing with her wand while she lays there with MC attached.

LEANDER PREWETT: Long boi with long limbs. MC is tangled in him with little hope of getting away. He has quite the wingspan, so even if MC is on the other side of the bed, he can just casually reach over and yoink them to his side.

AMIT THAKKAR: Hope MC likes his voice, cause he's a talker. MC is his captive audience and he will go on and on and ON about just about anything. Mostly astronomical topics, but he goes off on tangents.

I love Ranpo looking at the police asking them how many of them has he helped. Even correctly identifying them.

It gives me Sam Rami Spiderman vibes. Specifically the scene where the civilians are throwing things at Green Goblin.

One of my favourite scenes.

I love that scene with Ranpo because it shows that the agency has helped so many people.

They've touched the lives of so many people.

Imagine... Kunikida's former students remembering how many times he was there for them.

His old college remember his bold and bright personality, how even when he dropped out they knew he'd go far.

There's many complaints against Dazai but people also recall when he's made them laugh.

How he'd goof off and reassure them things were okay, when they felt anything but.

Everyone in Yokohama knows Kenji, they look at the containers of leftovers and their house plants that have never looked healthy before.

Even on the worst days, his smile was always kind.

People remember Yosano barging into hospitals and advocating for them.

They remember her strength and her kindness, how they were in pain but they weren't alone.

They remember how Junichiro was fiercely protective. How he'd listen patiently to their stories.

He'd stay on the line longer and help them calm down.

Fukuzawa rarely showed up but everyone felt at ease the moment he arrived.

He was always a kind and calm presence, he'd sit by your side and tell you that he'd protect you no matter what.

And you'd believe him.

People remember Kyouka, she didn't say much but she was a protective presence. They remember that they felt safe around her, like nothing could hurt them.

People remember Atsushi, this sweet kid who'd scare off abusers one minute than comfort the victim.

There was no judgement, an understanding in his eyes and he'd stay as along as you needed.

They weren't monsters, they weren't the bad guys they were being painted out to be.

The Agency loves Yokohama but more than them, the people of Yokohama love them.

And no one messed with them and got away with it.

In light of Clouds on the Horizon and Reaching Out, I’m really seeing past Alador scenes in a whole new light...

This isn’t Alador actually being opportunistic here; Rather, it’s him standing up for his daughter and her friends, now that he has an excuse to do so. Al knows he can’t sway his wife on morals or anything like that, the only way to appeal to her is by Odalia’s sense of profit; And when he sees how Luz motivates Amity, Alador sees a reason he can give Odalia to make her back down. He’s still a terrible parent at this point, but now it gives the vibes of a victim having carefully learned how to ‘speak the language’ of their abuser and get them around to things, by framing them in just the right way.

Obviously Alador WAS also keen on his daughter’s potential, but this time we can view it in a more positive light, as believing this is good for his daughter and what he believes her goals to be at this point. Alador really is unironically, genuinely happy for Amity’s skills here; Proud from a fatherly sense before any desire for social gain, even for Amity’s benefit!

When Luz points out the Abomaton display is getting excessive, Alador agrees, but he doesn’t step in because his power really is limited. Odalia is essentially holding their kids hostage, and it’s not the first time a Blight has been forced by her to choose the lesser of two evils in order to protect loved ones...!

This shot? Honestly, it’s probably more the last vestiges of what happiness their marriage might’ve started out with... Or it’s Odalia being ‘proud’ of her husband for being business-oriented, while Al is just glad he got her to listen for once.

Suddenly, the scenes of Odalia taking Alador’s interest from him DO hit hard, actually... She really is taking away what little enjoyment and reprieve he has left and holding all the power, and not just veering her husband back on track. And when Alador reminds Odalia that she’s a Blight to make her uphold her end of the deal, it’s likely Al throwing back a saying Odalia used against him and their kids to keep them bound to their deals with her; He’s not impressed with her sudden hypocritical double-standard towards Luz here, for Odalia’s own benefit.

I’m getting the vibes that Odalia was the Blight first and Alador married in, and she’s really obsessed with making herself an old money name, even if she’s actually new money. Maybe the Blights used to be rich but fell into ‘hard’ times, and Odalia saw Alador as a means to make her family name influential again? Not that she cared to restore her parents alongside herself, Odalia really is selfish...

So the initial fandom perception of the Blights as Victorian nobles might not be too far off, as that was what they once were; And Odalia has tried to regain that wealth, while also adapting to more modern times as well. How her hypothetical parents would feel, I’m not sure; As long as it’s power, I guess Odalia doesn’t care about ‘sullying’ the Blight name by reinventing themselves as a modern tech company, new money and all that.

And to help achieve that Odalia wanted cheap labor and fired half of Alador’s team; And he proceeded to take on the burden of labor to make up for that, just so his kids wouldn’t have to. How much did Al even get paid... That’s like domestic slave labor y’all! And only an abuser’s victim would stomach such harsh working conditions for such little pay, because Alador is already bound to Odalia by marriage, and is concerned for his kids... Like damn, Emira and Edric got to goof off partially because of him, even if Odalia still enticed Amity to work in school to prove herself.

It sucks that Alador stopped paying attention, and his kids are still valid in any resentment for not standing up to Odalia earlier for their sake; But it really does cast what free time the kids had, that was necessary for their interactions with Luz and eventual growth, into a whole new light! What little happiness these kids had underneath their mother’s abuse came from their father’s neglect and sacrifice... Amity was already so stressed back in Season 1, imagine that AND child labor...

Which as I mentioned; Odalia still got what she wanted out of Amity and even the twins, hadn’t she? So it was still kind of for nothing, hence Alador realizing that and making his stand; He’s done playing Odalia’s game and negotiating on her terms.

i’m too lazy to write this but imagine a post 2.06 jim/olu/archie fic where the dynamic thus far has been “all three of them hang out a lot and sometimes get really touchy and cuddly in a way that still has plausible deniability and nobody has actually defined or talked about what’s going on yet” which is what was going on when all three of them were dancing together at the party. so post ep they all end up back in their room and they’re kind of getting ready for bed but kind of just talking and goofing around and jim is in a sort of giddy hyper mood and they’re all happy and vibing and then jim suddenly is like “guys. guys can i tell you a secret” very seriously and archie and olu are both like “oh shit yeah of course babe”

and jim is like “guys. i’m really horny right now”

Now y’all maybe wondering “why are you specifying rid2015?? Smokescreen was only in TFP, bro doesn’t exist in rid2015–” EXACTLY! Smokescreen wasn’t in rid2015 so most of the stuff made for the ship is for them in TFP but that’s not what I’m trying to sell y’all on

I’m trying to sell y’all on the idea that — if Smokescreen was in rid2015, he would be in a relationship with Bee — hence the specification

Now what y’all are probably asking is “why????”

Well that’s what this post is for!! First off:

The Shenanigans

Idk if y’all remember but Smokey was the silliest bot on Team Prime, easily the most immature mf in the main cast (other than Miko) — now try to tell me without lying to my face that he wouldn’t fit in perfectly with the goofy goobers the make up Team Bee??

He would definitely see himself in Sideswipe and try to bond with him thru pranks and goofing off while also trying to guide him into avoiding the same mistakes he made (ex. Hard Knocks)

He probably makes Strongarm feel conflicted cuz his reckless personality clashes with her image of what an “Elite Guardsman” would act like, but I think Smokescreen would just try to get her to loosen up a bit while not bickering with her unlike what Sideswipe and her usually do

Upon seeing Grimlock he’d immediately go “HOLY SCRAP ARE YOU A DINOBOT!?!?!”, he thinks Grim is so cool and really wants to spar with him

He probably sees Arcee in the way Drift acts and respects him a lot just based on that alone, though he knows it’s gonna take time for him to earn that respect back from Drift (I LOVE HIS CHARACTER GROWTH IN PRIME AND I WILL KEEP THAT IN THIS SILLY LITTLE IDEA OF MINE, HE DID GET BETTER AND I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE IGNORE THAT JUST CUZ THEY FIND HIM ANNOYING)

He’s probably not met much minicons so he’s not used to them, but I can see him having a good friendship with Fixit and being very nice to Jetstorm and Slipstream

He takes one look at Russell, turns to Bee and says “do you have a thing for human kids with brown hair and names starting with R??” Other than that I think he vibes with Russell and Denny well

As for his dynamics with the Decepticons — he’d be making constant quips, he’d make fun of all of them immediately like a robot alien version of Spider-Man — after previously fighting against Megatron himself he cannot take any of the furries of rid2015 seriously

The Fluff

Look at me. Like seriously look at me. Look into my eyes and imagine with me for a sec.

Bee and Smokey learning how to work with each other in the field again, reminiscing about the rare good memories during the war

Bee infodumping about Earth culture to him while Smokey just listens while looking at him with borderline heart eyes

I think Bee really likes physical affection and words of affirmation so randomly Smokey will just hug Bee when they’re in the scrapyard and will compliment him when he does well at leading and mentoring the others cuz he knows that shit ain’t easy (again, he sees himself and Sideswipe and realizes “damn I really was annoying holy scrap I’m so sorry”)

I HC that Smokey can still move his doorwings like he and Bee did in TFP, so whenever he sees Bee and gets excited his flap up and down (I know this is purely self indulgent BUT IN MY DEFENSE THIS ENTIRE POST IS ME BEING SELF INDULGENT, THIS FANDOM IS ALREADY DEAD AS HELL I’D BE SURPRISED IF ANYONE EVEN READS THIS FAR INTO THIS POST, LET ME BE SELF INDULGENT IN PEACE)

When either of them get bad days where they just keep thinking about the war, they do their best to comfort each other thru it cuz, unlike the rest of the team, they were both there for most of the late-war-shit together on Earth — and for the stuff that Smokey wasn’t there for, he just listens and makes sure Bee knows that he’ll always be there for him

The shock of the team finding out that Bee has a partner is amazing and it could happen in so many ways (if y’all wanna see one of my interpretations on how this could go you could check out my fanfic: Old Recruit on AO3)

The team seeing their usually serious team leader be partners with this unserious constant-joker of a bot stores a lot of cute potential stories in it that no one is writing about — like come on guys I want Bee trying to be serious in the scrapyard but then Smokey just hugs him from behind out of nowhere and Bee just has to process it for a sec cuz touch starvation go brrrr while the rest of them is like :O

The Angst

While this section is mainly Smokey focused more than smokebee focused, I’m still adding it cuz this still falls under the “what if smokescreen was in rid2015” idea

Smokey definitely has claustrophobia and a hatred for being restrained in anyway from the TFP (waking up captive on a Decepticon ship after being knocked out, Knockout restraining him on his operating table while he tears the Omega Key from inside his body, being stuck with a dying Optimus in a cramped cave for a while panicking cuz holy shit Optimus, his #1 hero, is fucking dying) so any mission that requires going into a cave or dark & cramped area is gonna cause him to freak out — but of course he wouldn’t actually admit that until it’s too late and he’s having a breakdown in a cave cuz he didn’t want to let his “stupid irrational fear to ruin a mission”

Same goes with Bee and his fears — I touched on this a bit earlier, but Bee & Smokey definitely have some days where they’re gonna feel off and they can’t get the war out of their heads — and those days are gonna be the worst cuz most of the team outside of maybe Drift won’t really understand it

Smokey is gonna have some feelings about Optimus coming back and Bee not telling him immediately — while this isn’t the first time Optimus died and came back to him, last time it was for a few seconds, this was for THREE WHOLE YEARS — he’s still gonna be happy that he’s back, it’s just gonna take awhile longer for him to be ok with it than the others (the way that Ratchet is immediately ok with Optimus coming back out of nowhere in rid!2015 was weird to me so I’m fixing that with Smokey)

While he loves giving Bee physical affection, he hates unwarranted touching from anyone else, specifically stuff like pats or punches on the back (Alpha Trion when I get you Alpha Trion Alpha Trion when I get you Alpha Trion Alpha Trion when I get you Alpha Trion Alpha—)

For a potential angsty introduction to Smokey in rid2015: He doesn’t meet up with Team Bee until the finale episode on Cybertron, where he’s being mind controlled by The High Council to capture them (I’m a sucker for brainwashing/mind control/hypnotism plots so I need to understand how BADLY I WANTED THIS TO HAPPEN IN THE SHOW IT WOULD’VE BEEN SO COOL)

Baldur's Gate 3 Head canons

Hello hyperfixation, old friend. Here are some head canons I have about BG3. Note: I am not super versed on D&D lore, most of these are based on vibes, deeply held wants, and in one case influenced by someone's opinion about a possible goof of dates.

We all know Astarion has red eyes and is blatantly a vampire. But no one really notices in game. In game it is established that vampires have "charms" (I remember hearing it, but I can't remember who said it or if it was more in depth than that). I head canon that vampires have just a really strong passive charm that prevents people from noticing the super incredibly obvious tells that he's undead unless they already know, or are super perceptive. For his eyes: people just think his eyes are brown and any red they think they see is just "a trick of the light".

I think the events of the game take place along the span of like 4-6 months from the characters' perspectives, and the areas of interest are not nearly so close to each other as they are in the game map.

Dammon is the only person in the game who has his shit together. You cannot convince me otherwise.

Shadowheart - after the events of the game - ends up as a plant mom with Lae'zel. I will not hear to the contrary.

The owlbear cub is charmed offscreen - probably by Gale or Halsin - to look like a large dog and that's how they get away with sneaking him into Baldur's Gate which apparently have very strict laws about what animals are allowed in the city. No I have not gotten that far in the game so I have no idea if it's addressed.

The owlbear is actually named by the camp rather than going by 'the owlbear cut'. I'm thinking Thorn - because it's my head canon and I can pick those kinds of things, but also because 'Scratch' and 'Thorn' go together.

After the events of the game most everyone in the party goes back to the blighted village to rebuild and also taking Scratch and the Owlbear cub with them.

Withers doesn't physically travel with the group. When they pack up he just ups and vanishes when no one is looking, when they set up camp he appears and it low-key makes everyone a little uncomfortable.

Volo claims the bag man (D&D lore (?) he lives in the dimension the bag of holdings use and takes an adventurer near a random bag every night) is real, Gale decides that it might actually be real because "our lives are indeed that weird", Wyll tries to convince him it's not real, and Lae'zel is just deeply confused and just sharpens her sword in case.

SPOILER HEAD CANONS:

Karlach's heart is 100% fixable and she comes back from Avernus. I will not hear to the contrary.

When Karlach's heart is fixed, she teams up with Wyll and they travel across the countryside defeating monsters and saving people together and fall in love.

Since Astarion is just shy of 200 years (This one I actually have a reason why I think this) he is eligible to use the Scroll of Total Resurrection to become mortal again.

Gale finds out that he has the Ring of the Sun-Walker and gives it to Astarion so he can live in the sun again post-tadpole.

Spoilers Criminal Minds S15 E4 Saturday ahead

I love the criminal minds episode Saturday. What a breath of fresh air for most of it (except the you know stalking case but even that feels almost like a breath of fresh air and a important topic change, bc stalking doesn’t always get taking seriously but this isn’t situation where multiple people are dead like normal cases, it’s Garcia relating and wanting to help one of the people taking her workshop, and it has a different vibe then Maeve’s case where it very much felt dark dramatic tones of plot and one of favorite characters love on being at risk, while this one has literal more light tones, the apartment was very bright to the usual scenes we see on top of the other stuff going on in this episode just brightens it as well)

I love Max, I love Max, I always forget how much I love Max, especially when she starts off feeling like Spencer’s being creepy when he’s like obviously leaning away from this kid (but of course it’s her nephew like protective instincts definitely reacted there). But seriously, I love her goofing off and bringing Spencer into this “I can have funny in silly goofy way” vibes. And as we all sometimes forget Spencer didn’t get a normal childhood where he really got to be a kid a ton so this definitely feels like it’s bringing a bit of his inner child out.

The crazy neighbor trying to sue Emily for a crazy reason. Like come on this is so funny and something you hear from a decent amount of people. Like neighbors are something sometimes…

And Tara “you owe me so many drinks for this” before handling him lmao

(I also love Tara, I also forget how much I love Tara. Bringing another person with a PhD and how there’s two “it’s Dr” people! And her “your mom” jokes. I love them. I love her being a smart and serious woman who can also play these like middle school kid jokes lmao)

And then we have Matt, with he new coming child, struggling with money and building furniture. And Rossi coming and helping him! Especially when Rossi never got to do that for his kids (at least as far as I remember I was jumping around and then got sucked into watching them mostly in order by Reids prison arc lmao)

Venus and Earth, of course, are twins. I like to think since Venus has a scar over her eye, Earth mocks him by closing their own eye around her. And she hates it! A lot!! I think it’s very silly. “You’re mocking me!” “nuh uh”

Mars and Mercury either get along or they don’t. I think they argue a lot but also get a long really well. Mars especially respects her for putting up with Venus’s whining every time she sees her NOT in the outfit she made her. Mars and Mercury and Venus are all hotheads, I think….

Neptune and Uranus are probably pretty close. I think they’re both very quiet people in general, but they goof off with each other. And like to complain about the outfits Venus made them, considering the provinces they live in are so cold.

Speaking of Neptune! Neptune and Venus do NOT get along. AT. ALL. They argue all the time! To the point where they literally were moved to completely different provinces! (hence why Neptune is so far from Venus. They would have been farther but Mercury is VERY stubborn.)

Saturn and Jupiter are definitely close too. They’re the two oldest! I like to think of them like the funk trolls… they give me a similar vibe… I also think they would be the most chill. They just roll their eyes and hum when their other siblings argue.

Pluto is the goth kid. That’s all I’ll say about them for now since I have no ideas in mind for themmm EXCEPT Earth probably encourages them the most! As well as Uranus, since he knows what it’s like to be mocked… (because of her name,,,,)

We do stuff together of course, we go on adventures together and play video games and watch movies and go to the park, y'know group friend stuff like that. It's a ton of fun, we all get along just fine, outside of Tom and Tord poking at each other

As for Matt, when we do solo stuff together, we kinda goof around a lot! Like we watch youtube videos and go out looking for fun and sometimes we even try to make our own skits like Tom does, though we can't write jokes as well as he can, oops Though I do unfortunately tend to overstim him sometimes so we can't always hang out for a looooong time

With Tom, since we work together on the animations on my channel, we actually hang out solo a lot. Working is like, writing jokes and brain storming and back n forthing, it's a lot of creative fun! When we're not working though, we like to listen to music together and watch new music videos, go CD shopping, maybe go look through pawn shops and thrift stores for crazy shit

Oh with Tord, we play footie out in the yard, and Tord is teaching me Norwegian (ei og velkommen til bloggen min!) plus we draw a lot together which is fun haha And well, let's just say when we're together, laws are a lil bendy

With Dan, we like to set up a space in the living room, put Youtube on the tv, and get caught up with like Game Grumps and Markiplier and stuff, it's really nice. Or we'll listen to music, I know much Dan loves it hehe

tbh I do a lot of drawing with CL too, it's fun to see her character designs. Oh dude and she kicks ass at Mortal Kombat! I finally have someone who's at my level, plus she knows all the lore And we take walks too, if I wanna walk anywhere too far for Dan to tag along, she'll come with

New(ish) Comics:

Batman #138: I’m reading this again as this is just such a great comic. Seriously Zdarsky, well done. So many different fight details here. I particularly noticed Bruce is demonstrating super-strength on this read for some reason – he breaks both Dick’s escrima stick and Tim’s bo staff, he rips the door off a car (??!!). There are so many neat details of ‘something is seriously wrong with Bruce’ here.

Blue Beetle #2: I like the note here that Booster is taking Ted away to heal somewhere else in time. I also enjoyed that all the JLI folk instantly nominated Tora to go comfort Jaime. And finally, I am delighted to see characters finally suspicious of Victoria Kord because! I have been so sus on her! Since her first appearance in Graduation Day! Her vibes are indeed off! (And it’s not just the clear autism – I do not get nearly these levels of ‘when do you turn out to be an evil plant’ from say Dani Garrett, who is also intensely female autistic about the scarab and her grandfather)

Birds of Prey #2: The art in this comic remains immaculate. I love the x-ray, out of panel drawings for passing between the ‘real’ world and the magical world. In terms of the plot – I’m still not 100% in here trust wise, but Thompson is winning me over, issue by issue, by reassuring me she understands the characters and is making considered decisions to justify why this lineup. I really really think they screwed themselves a bit with the way they announced the lineup – the vibes in the comic itself are far more clear on who’s a long term choice (Cass, Barda) and who are more likely ‘this storyline only’ choices (Harley, Zealot).

Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville #2: This continues to make me so happy in its level of fun and metacommentary. I love the collection of villains, because there’s one existing rogue in each line (Beefeater, Maxie Zeus, Gentleman Ghost) and the six new ones, though admittedly Linka and King of Cats are somewhat linked to existing characters/mantles. The goof levels are off the charts (I lost it at the “Guns don’t kill people. I kill people” line) Anyway come for Bea and Tora remaining extremely ‘on a break’ as they definitely don’t date…uh…siblings, stay for the shenanigans. Maybe Bea and Tora will finally get to kiss in issue #6 (the kiss will obviously be a cheek peck or an accident during a fight scene or something)

Shazam! #4: Garguax the Distressing, Emperor of the MOON! I love him. He’s so silly. Chew on the scenery a bit more, Garguax! Also Billy manages to avoid mind control by realising he’s about to have his first ever kiss with a bee supervillain and deciding he’s not cool with that. Go you, Billy. This comic remains deeply committed to serious silliness and Silver Age vibes (Mark Waid. Dan Mora. Do we need to enforce the ‘one gorilla a month’ rule from the 1970s on you?) which is exactly what I want from the Shazamily. Also Darla appeared, my beloved.

Warlord #22: this week in Skartaris Travis was fighting a werewolf! I would pretend this was a surprise revelation on the very last page, but given someone turned up and shot a silver arrow during the very first fight scene, let’s just say this revelation was signalled.

In addition to the amusement I always get when archery occurs in this title, Grell enjoyed two full pages of serpent bondage scenes. Enjoy some assorted scenes.

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT

A Promising Premise with a Playful Plot

SPOILERS AHEAD

I’ll be upfront: I don’t like clowns. I’m not afraid of them, but something about them makes me… uncomfortable. Overly joyous, bright and flashy, and more effective at drawing in a crowd of those goblins we call “children” than a box of Capri-Sun. The Amazing Digital Circus (which will henceforth be referred to in this article as TADC) plays with the vibes I get from clowns perfectly, goblin children and all.

Quick plot synopsis! We find ourselves inside the titular Amazing Digital Circus, a virtual world in which a wacky cast of characters have been trapped for an unknown amount of time. The story follows Pomni, the newcomer, as she tries to escape the circus and get back to the real world without losing her mind. After meeting the other suckers trapped in this world (and then running away from one of them), Pomni finds an exit door free-standing in the middle of the tent. After running through a Backrooms-like facility, her efforts turn out to be all for naught, since the ringmaster Caine hasn’t even finished building the exit. Whoopsies! Yeah, a bunch of other stuff happens, but the B-plot isn’t really as interesting as Pomni’s journey.

I’m going to start the actual review part of this article with the art and animation. The love and care put into making the characters feel alive is not to be overlooked, and it’s clear that the team behind TADC took care in making sure the animation was the best it could be. The characters are expressive in the way they walk, run, and use their hands. Each design is unique and fun, with none of them being standout great and none lagging behind. My personal favorite design is Caine, who is as wonderfully ridiculous as the circus he runs. An honorable mention to Gangle, whose ribbon body leads to some genuinely funny goofs and gaffs in the show. I think the only character design I have problems with is Zooble, a mishmash of multicolored parts of many styles. It’s a neat idea in concept, and Gooseworx’s previous works prove abstract designs can be pulled off well, but Zooble is way too cluttered for my tastes.

Something I really enjoy about TADC is how well it pulls off sound. Music production and voice acting are my hobbies and sound work is my job, so it's always nice to see a show or movie pull off sound well. Goofy character movements are often accentuated by bouncy and cartoony sound effects, and the overall mixing and mastering of the episode is high-quality. At no point did it feel like any character was too loud or too quiet, too bland or too overeffected. I like the subtle changes in reverb as the camera switches to a new point of view, a thing that in hindsight seems obvious but many people may miss when making a show like this. I must also commend the voice actors and voice directors for their amazing work bringing these characters to life and giving them personality. As soon as I heard Caine in the promotional material, I realized it was a complete no-brainer to bring on Alex Rochon to use the Spamton voice from his Deltarune dubs. I also must point out Michael Kovach's work as Jax, being just obnoxious enough to make you want to hate him but not enough to stop you from absolutely loving him. The music is also fantastic, as one comes to expect from the talented hands of Gooseworx. It should come as no surprise that my favorite track from the pilot is Your New Home, and I seem to be far from the only one with that opinion.

Unfortunately, it's not all sunshine and rainbows with TADC. I do have one major gripe with the show, and that's the writing. The story is intriguing and entertaining, but a lot of dialogue near the beginning of the episode falls flat for me. It's a good script assisted by great VAs, but it really does feel like some of the dialogue is trying to cram in lots of information in a shorter time frame, to the point where some of it feels stilted and drags on. However, I suppose I can understand why this is the case. A pilot is a way for a show to tell the audience what it's doing, what it's about, and why you should watch. Thus, it's reasonable to put more information into a pilot than feels necessary, so that you don't need to take as long to get someone hooked.

All in all, TADC is a lovely show that I highly recommend checking out if you haven't already, and I wish the best of luck to GLITCH, Gooseworx, and the rest of the team in funding a full season of this show.

So in the movie the girl is only a vampire who drinks blood bc of a presumed medical condition (she gets sick without it, but no official diagnosis), and the vampire community is more like a church than anything else. And she's being audited because she evaded paying taxes by donating most of her income to said church (which isn't officially recognized or even acknowledged its way more informal than that).

I much prefer a more traditional vampire vibe, with hierarchy and families and houses and all that jazz. So what if Lena is a vampire who's being audited because she's still earning massive amounts of money when she should already be dead. And then Kara is assigned to look into it and realizes, hey, this woman is doing everything she should be doing, she's just... not gonna die anytime soon.

But then throughout the investigation process she gets a closer look at both Lena and the vampire community, even meeting Lena's mother Lillian at a house ball that's thrown for Lillian's birthday.

There's a kind of unspoken rule that vamps shouldn't get involved with mundanes/humans, so there's an element of verboten-ness that spices up their development slow burn. Kara suggests meetings about Lena's accounts just to spend time with her, and she proceeds to make a goof of herself almost every single time they talk. Lena finds it endearing and is charmed by everything Kara is and her open curiosity about what it means to be a vampire.

Throughout all this, it turns out Lena has stopped drinking blood from her donor. She starts to physically weaken, but seeing as her donor is her ex Andrea, she can't bring herself to go back now that she's found something new with Kara-- but she doesn't try to find a replacement either.

When Lena's friend Sam visits, she comments on how sick Lena looks. Only then does Kara notice the dark shadows under her eyes and the sallowness of her cheeks. She's been so enraptured by Lena as a whole that she never paid attention to her deteriorating health, but now she does.

Sam insists that Lena feed from her (bc apparently vamps can feed from each other here), and Lena finally relents-- but only if Kara is there to watch. She wants Kara to see this part of her: the predator, the parasite, the animal. But when Kara watches the long, sensual pulls that Lena takes from Sam's wrist, she isn't horrified. Instead, she's interested and... more than interested. She wants to be a part of it. Wants to be the person who brings color to Lena's cheeks, to have Lena's teeth pierce her skin, to feel the intimate bond between vamp and donor.

Due to Lena's famine, she needs more than Sam is able to give. So Kara offers her wrist, freely and gingerly given, afraid of being rejected. Sam mentions that Kara hasn't been tested, that it's not safe for Lena to feed without knowing if she's clean or not. But Lena overrides her, stating that she trusts Kara. And so she feeds, and the connection cements their newfound bond in stone.

Kara's next challenge is how to present Lena's case to the IRS without exposing the entire community (or some other risk, idk), but in the meantime she also tells her sister/roommate about her new relationship-- which Alex does not approve of in the least. She all but insists that Kara break up with Lena, cut all ties immediately. Alex even goes as far as to lie to Kara and tell her that Lena hasn't called (and insists that Lena didn't stop by, even though she did). Thinking that the other is ghosting them, their relationship falters.

The IRS ruling doesn't go in Lena's favor, further complicating matters. (Maybe Lena has tried to split away from the family and the ruling forces her to go to Lillian for help, and Lillian sucks her right back in? Idk.) Lillian makes it all go away by exposing Lena and Kara's inappropriate relationship, which tanks Kara's career, which Lena is appalled by-- she never wanted Kara to be hurt.

But when Lena goes to apologize, Kara is grateful-- she never wanted the ruling to go the way it did, and being fired is the best thing that ever happened to her. She just thinks it sucks they both had to suffer for it to happen.

But maybe, she says, sidling closer to Lena, just maybe... they don't have to suffer anymore. Because maybe, just maybe, they can make things work between them.

Lena smiles, retracted fangs glinting faintly.

For the first time in a long time, she's ready to try.

I believe Rapunzel's moon sign would be Cancer: Making her negative and emotional traits go moreside along the lines of Pessimistic, Aggressive, Possessive. As far as first impressions go, you might mistake her for a Leo! She stays loyal to herself and comes off as a true romantic, her confidence is natural. Jack was confirmed by his creator to be a Sagittarius over Twitter some years ago. His main traits are Friendly, Optimistic and Reckless, he can also be immature or boastful. However, you'll find that his ambitious and sometimes Intense as well. I favour his moon would be Scorpio, a secretive and compulsive sign under it all. And the rising? Up to no surprise, Aries is the symbol of all hot-headed characters, even under his cool temper, Jack is Dynamic, warm and independent. All in all, the goof guy and local cool kid jack is a mix of water and fire signs, man really has got a sauna for a personality lol

Jack gets no other signs of choice cuz Sag is just perfect for him, it would make him likely a December baby so like rebirth or whatever I like the concept

Merida - Aquarius (February 12) ♈+♐

Her character traits are bold, brave, daring, courageous, stubborn, rebellious, and headstrong.

Logical, Social, and Rebellious: Those are the three main traits that encapsulate Merida. As an Aquarius, innovation is no news to her. She's the reason things change around her. Her moon is in Aries, along her fiery hair, she's got fiery spirits, so you might find her brash, impulsive or impatient. Under that though... there's more fire. At first glance, you might take her for a Sagittarius. Honest and friendly, and characteristically non-judgemnetal.p

Mer could also be Taurus or a Capricorn if you look at it in a very perched up angle?

Hiccup - Pisces (February 29) ♓️+♑️

His character traits are witty, sarcastic, well-spoken but shy, reserved, smart, kind, progressive, compassionate, empathy.

Hiccup's traits have evolved over the years (and movies) but to the core, Hiccup is a kind person who resonates real well with the sign of Pisces, a sign that represents the compassion, emotional presence and empathy of his personality. On other levels, we find more serious details in his character, those brought likely from a Capricorn moon. The sarcasm, pessimism and whatnot comes from that emotional inner moon. Oh finally, his rising sign is absolutely Virgo.

I think we can pin him down as Virgo or Taurus if not in Pisces, but that’s just me

I DIDN'T KNOW OK? I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT SCARLET. Anyway

Old main, semi-dropped just because I couldn't really get into her as a character again. I like her, I'm just struggling to make her personality fit with everything going on around her as commander. So she's no longer commander and in the middle of a full rewrite so uh this will be fragmented I don't know how to make the pieces fit anymore.

Grew up as an orphan in Divinity's Reach, has always been a bit "prickly" so the other kids called her Briar (see I had a reason) a name she officially adopted as an adult.

Really wanted to get into the mesmer collective her whole life, she's been motivated to "prove them wrong" despite not really knowing who she's proving wrong. Was accepted into the collective after HoT and quickly discovered it was kind of shit and not her kind of thing at all. But she's a shining blade now?? Due to the rework I have no idea how she lost her eye, it was originally during PoF but idk anymore.

She's just a prickly bitch that fought her way up the social ladder only to realize it was boring at the top.

Nora Fischer

The new and improved commander. Norn adopted by a human shipwright-family, grew up comfortably in Divinity's Reach, was the biggest girl in the guard. She's a big believer in both the spirits and the human gods. Have some headcanons about Norns being more bestial so I'm thinking she has a faint snow leopard pattern on her back/arms/legs and scared a lot of drunkards on her night patrols with her night-time laser eyes.

We joked about Nora attending a lot of social gatherings with her parents where they served itty bitty portions of food and how as soon as they got home her parents would release her like a dog and she would bolt down to the basement to feast in the dark. So she's a prim and proper lady but with a silly goofy feral side to her which they've had to adapt to as she grew up.

We also talked about how she attended her first Norn moot with her father and how she would have so much fun while her father was sidelined with a giant fur coat feeling very out of place but also reassured that his daughter would do well in life if she could excel in a chaotic situation like this.

She's also lesbian I don't really give my characters a sexuality but idk playing her she's just lesbian she just is that's just Nora over there crushing on the pretty girls the big femme top looking at the girls.

Idk I have more of a vibe for her I like her a lot she's a goofy gal from a family that loves and supports her. She's a goof because she's not a goof which makes her a goofball I like her a lot she looks like any prettygirl norns but in my head that's what makes her a goof. Again, I don't write down lore I am very much a vibe-based person.

Tiberius Marrowfed

One of the cooks in the Fed-Warband a warband all about supplying the front lines with nurturing slop. He's an alright cook but his specialty is drawing out every bit of flavor from bones. Permanent broth-duty.

He's also canonically had straight sex with Orelius Hingejaw (because Bruh only has straight sex because he's straight)

She's a freak a wildling a menace a creature in the truest sense. She has no loyalty to anyone but herself and her "friends" she has liberated from pet owners (they didn't feed them junk so they're better off with her because she let's them eat whatever they want). She has standing bounties in every major city but because of her destructive impact she and her friends have on whatever annoys her most cities (not black citadel) will simply send out scouts to observe her. She did a lot of accidental interference during Zhaitan's invasion just from being a roaming lethal anomaly.

She stole Tomme's dog. Chaotic Neutral. Uneducated.

Newest girl who knows how long I'll keep her. Tusplha is a schoolyard bully, a mean girl, a real stuck up self-centered brat. She's stolen credit for several projects and knows how to shut people up.

The reason I have decades devotion. I hate her name but also it's a good memory of being excited for the release of GW2, I would read the devlog every week up until release. Simpler times has exactly ZERO lore.
