One or both may have been his daughters. Augsburg, 1594-1599. ~*~ 🏛Rüstkammer, Dresden, Germany. ~*~ 📝The ceremonial set for the rider and the horse with the saddle was bought in Augsburg by Elector Christian Saxon in 1602. Embossed decoration in the form of fruit bouquets, flowers, birds and insects, as well as trophies completely cover gray iron armor. Additionally riveted figured images of gilded copper. The scenes show the rider in antique armor in battle, lions, animal masks and fabulous creatures that are framed in a frame of roller-leaves and leaves. A mixture of gray iron and gold-plated elements demonstrates a decorative excess of symmetrical shapes and represents the highest point of the art of embossing. Repost @valleyofthepharaohs • • • • • • Ancient Priest. Sheikh el-Belad, also commonly known as Kaaper, was an ancient Egyptian scribe and priest who lived around 2500 BC. His beautiful statue is made out of shaped sycamore wood. It was discovered by Auguste Mariette inside his Mastaba tomb near the Step Pyramid of Djoser. Mariette and his team were shocked by its artistic realism. The level of skill and craftsmanship in the statue reflects the artistic achievements of the ancient Egyptians in the 4th Dynasty. The eyes, made of rock crystal and copper, bring a distinctive humanism to the face. Ramses ve Hitit Kralı III. Hattuşili arasındaki mektupların çevrilmesiyle, bu şehrin Hattuşa olduğu kesinleşmiş. İlk fotoğraftaki Hattuşa’daki Sfenksli Kapı. Bu iki sfenks, 1907’de yapılan kazılarda bulunmuş. Onarım için 1917’de Berlin’e gönderilmiş. ______ Sağdaki sfenks 1924’de İstanbul Arkeoloji Müzesi’ne iade edilmiş, diğer sfenksi ise 2011’de Berlin’den geri almayı başarmışız. 2011’de hem İstanbul’daki, hem Berlin’deki sfenks sonunda ait olduğu yere, Hattuşa’ya geri getirilmiş. Şu an Hattuşa’daki Sfenksli Kapı’da duranlar bire bir replikası. Sfenkslerin orjinalleri ise tüm ihtişamı ile Boğazköy Müzesi’nde. Göktürk dönemine ait 1500 yıllık mezardaki buluntular ezberleri bozacak cinsten. Türkuaz renkleriyle boyanmış minyatür askerler,ejderha/pars figürlü duvar resimleri ve mezarı koruduğuna inanılan havlamayan kanatlı köpek ’grifonlar, Kazak Arkeolog Cantekin Karcaubay’ın objektifinden gün yüzüne çıktı. ______ Moğolistan’ın başkenti Ulanbatur’un yaklaşık 200 km güneybatısında bulunan ve kadim Ötüken havzası içinde yer alan bölgede bir Göktürk hükümdarına ait mezara ulaşıldı. Yerin altına doğru inen 42 metrelik dehlizden geçilerek ulaşılan 1500 yıllık mezarda bir Kıpçak boyu olan Aşinalara ait çarpıcı figürlere rastlandı. Budist gelenekleriyle gömülen hükümdarın yakılarak, küllerinin ahşap bir tabutun içine yerleştirilmiş kutu içine konulduğu belirlendi. _____ Hükümdarın ölümünden sonra maiyetince hummalı bir çalışma yürültümüş olduğu da tarihi mabette ortaya çıktı.
