Nonbinary language is awesome! It's amazing! Enban, xenic, diamory, maverique, abinary, neopronoun, androgyne, trixic, duosex, enby, exorsexism, ceterosexual, salmacian, there are many such examples of beautiful nonbinary vocabulary.
Our language gets held down and smothered by binary people who call it "cringe" or "weird" or "gen z/alpha" or "artificial" or "too new". All language is created for purposes! Everything has a start, everything was once new.
Use our language! Make it common, make it normal, even if it's only amongst other enben. Don't let exorsexists demoralise you into letting our nonbinary vocabulary fall into obscurity when it's objectively amazing. Erasing a community's language removes their culture, removes their visibility, removes their identity. Don't let exorsexists remove your identity. Our language is not weird, our language is not too new. It may be obscure but with common usage, it won't become obsolete.

i absolutely cannot believe people are trying to start discourse about whether nex benedict was actually nonbinary / whether it was okay for him to describe himself as nonbinary to some people if he didn’t actually identify that way as if he isn’t literally DEAD because he was KILLED. this is a MURDERED CHILD and these monsters are so busy getting mad at the possibility that he might have been a trans boy who described himself as nonbinary to his family because that was easier for them to take that they’re turning a CHILD who was MURDERED into fucking discourse. even when we die at the hands of cis people’s violence, our own community finds a way to make us the villains of the story.
and all of this bullshit on top of the ways that cis people are already trying to say our grief over his death is unjustified. all of this on top of people claiming he wasn’t murdered and speculating on other causes of death (i literally saw someone say he “clearly went home and took the coward’s way out” and i have never been more disgusted) or claiming that he started the fight as if any action on his part could’ve been enough to justify his death. i am haunted by the sound of his father screaming that his child was not filth because that is what people have been saying about this poor kid, that’s how cruelly his memory is being treated, and even the trans community can’t get it’s shit together enough to look past the stupid discourse and see the tragedy in front of us. did you all forget that it was supposed to be up to us to grieve him in the way he deserves when the rest of the world fails to care if people like him live or die? did you all forget that this child was our sibling, the future of our community, a life that we should have had the chance to know and treasure while he was still here but that we now have a responsibility to hold close to our hearts in his absence? nex’s life was precious and it was ended far too soon and if you truly believe that anything is more important than mourning his life and fighting for a world where no more trans people have to meet such an awful fate, you’re a traitor to this community and you do not deserve the place you occupy within it.
i’m so tired. i can’t even imagine how tired his family must be, to see the public treat the child they’re grieving so horribly, to see the world fail their baby again. leave him alone. he was already robbed of peace in life; the least you can do is let him finally have it in death.

if you say “men shouldn’t be in obstetrics and gynecology” you’re also including trans men in that. “well you know what i mean-“ no, you’re transphobic. “i’m talking about cis men-“ then say cis men. “yeah but that’s an exception-“ trans men are no more an exception to manhood than cis men are. STOP LEAVING TRANS MEN OUT OF GYNECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS. THAT IS TRANSPHOBIC.

Hey, can we talk about the violence against queer natives for a second?
Nex Benedict was a 16 year old nonbinary student who was brutally murdered by three of their female classmates. Not only that, they were a Native American living on a Cherokee reservation, though not enrolled in the tribe, and their actual heritage is that of Choctaw.
Their death was not properly reported on until the blog post that genderkoolaid shared was made. Their nonbinary identity had remained unacknowledged, and it took even longer for their native one to be.
They were a victim of the rising anti-trans rhetoric spreading throughout places like the US. They were beaten in a bathroom after Oklahoma had banned trans people from restrooms, designating them to only use that of their assigned sex. Nex was attacked in the girls bathroom.
A native, two-sprit, nonbinary teenager. Whose identity and the actual circumstances behind the incident, a hate crime, wasn't even published beforehand. They died tragically, a death that could've been easily prevented.
Do you know how scary that is? I'm just like them. A native, two-spirit, nonbinary teenager. I have to keep on hearing stories of people my age, who live in the same country, who share my identity, getting murdered. Not even just murdered, but erased.
I know for an absolute fact that if I died tragically, who I am will not be remembered. My deadname will be on everything. I would not be counted in trans statistics, nonetheless statistics on transmascs. My identity would not be respected. My native heritage wouldn't matter. I didn't get to be enrolled. And Nex had supportive family and friends, people who stood up for them. Not all trans kids get to have that.
I've had to think about this before many times. From the other trans youth deaths I've seen. From nearly becoming one of them. When is it enough? Why do the people in power do nothing to stop kids like me from being killed? Why do they only want to make our lives worse?
I'm very lucky to live in a state that has not wavered on it's protections on LGBTQ+ residents. Though I am reminded often that that can easily change, if things keep going like this.
I could've easily been them. I can still easily be them. There are many other kids who can be them. Everyone should be doing more to protect trans youth, and protect queer natives. We're so often forgotten about. I'm part of small tribes, and tribes who barely even exist anymore. My elders desperately trying to keep it alive. Please do not erase us. I'm queer, I'm native. Nex Benedict should have been protected, youth like me should be protected. I wish the best for their family and I hope their memory is never forgotten.

If you pay attention to TIRFs (trans inclusive radical feminists) you will find they talk about trans people two ways.
One is that all trans people are women. That is, trans women are women, but also trans men are female socialized so they are close enough, and non-binary people can be mushed in as cis women or trans women as needed.
The other is that trans women are women (good, pure, innocent), trans men are men (bad, impure, guilty), and non-binary are mushed in as cis or binary trans, (evil) man or (virtuous) women, as needed.
Even when radfems are not TERFs, they are still bioessentialist.

It's a shame you're a self hating woman. I hope you don't damage your body too much, it would be a shame if you completely ruined it. I hope you get the mental help that you need.
You're weird, you realise that, right?? Like, it's weird to obsess about other people's bodies. It's weird to tell someone you're obsessed about their body, and that's what you've done here.
I hope you get the mental help you need so you can stop obsessing about other people's bodies.
The choices other people make about their bodies is not your business, and it's weird you think you get to have any opinion on it whatsoever.

Reductress is just spreading terf rhetoric now
The "joke" is that nonbinary people are somehow escaping from violence by being trans that we can opt out of fearing violence and don't fear violence when walking at night....
Like just yuck as a transmasc nonbinary survivor whose actually aware of the stats of violence against nonbinary people this just disgusts me...
Also I'm betting they have talked to zero Black trans enbies or men or women of colour about how being seen as "scary" puts them in danger from racist white people & or they're just assuming all enbies are white idk it's disgusting... There's just so many layers to the bigotry and white fauxminism of this "joke"
They've previously made posts like this so idk if they've got terfs on staff who keep trying to slip this in to pipeline people or people who think certain trans people they dislike facing violence including sexual violence is funny and that those trans survivors are lying and shouldn't be beleived.
They're priming their audience to disbelieve and mock nonbinary trans survivors. They're literally pushing the "people transition to escape/opt out of patriarchal violence like a fun game" terf talking point which isn't reflected in the stats of violence against trans people who face higher rates of physical sexual and domestic violence than cis people
Just "it's a coin toss!"
As a survivor fuck you
Like the comments section is full of transphobia and people going "har har they think they're in danger they're delusional " or spouting transphobic BS and a trans man whose talking about how he fears violence walking at night being called 'female' and misgendered like well done you've curated a comment section full of transphobes and people who think trans people aren't who we say we are fucking yikes
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
None of the transphobic comments have been deleted reductress seems happy to leave up comments calling trans men "female" and saying that trans people are a danger to children

Also just to say, I was already aware that the gender binary is rooted in colonialism. With all the medical and therapy speak, the intersexism of AFAB/AMAB, the ideas of socialisation, the misconstruing of the purpose of TMA/TME etc, they were originated out of a binarist worldview imposed by colonialists that still live on today. They affect POC first and then spread out to everyone else, I did mention that in my post about how black boyhood and girlhood is very different to their white counterparts how how they vary culture by culture.
I am hurt by AFAB and AMAB, the assumptions people make about black boys and girls that then gets imposed onto me as i fit neither category even though i admit, i do "look" like a binary gender atm. I think I will put my race in my bio to avoid this sort of situation again. I do know what I'm doing when I make the distinction of binarism and exorsexism. Much of exorsexism is the effects of binarism and the aftershocks that hurt white enben, binary people, and how us EOC are still dealing with it and rediscovering our cultures and how it exists in the modern day.
And my blog name will not be changing. Well... not until i find a better one!

something i never see recognised as an intersection between transandromisia and exorsexism is the hypervisibility of nonbinary people who are afab or seen as afab. its absolutely not a coincidence that people who are seen as "moving away from their natural womanhood", "rejecting womanhood" and "trying to escape misogyny" without being men are scrutinised, analysed and mocked so much. many people are talking about how transandromisia means being invisibilised and it does, but paired with exorsexism, it often means the exact opposite: being hypervisibilised. and the only time i really see this hypervisibility talked about is when people almost blame us for the invisibility of nonbinary people who are amab or seen as amab, almost framing hypervisibility as a privilege, rather than acknowledging that hypervisibility also sucks and is actually dangerous. there's absolutely lateral exorsexism that needs to be addressed, but we're not responsible for society's obsession with us. we dont have the power to invisibilise other nonbinary people on such a systemic basis, and i wish our hypervisibility wasn't framed as something we're doing intentionally or should be grateful for but recognised for what it is:
two forms of oppression intersecting.

I've never met any fandom as obsessed with making racist white characters into 'the REAL victims' and creating personalities out of their nothingness as the Harry Potter/Marauder's Era one. They convinced themselves that the faction who are a metaphor for n*zis(Slytherins)are 'discriminated against for being ambitious' when the reason everyone hates them is that they're bigots and bullies towards minorities and when there's exactly one canon poc amongst them. And now, because they're selfish enough to betray their trans siblings and jewish people and disabled people and like every other opressesd group in existence for their own nostalgia, they've turned the ones who never even appeared onpage into their 'unproblematic blorbos' because they're THAT desperate for white faves. It's just plain weird really

Being queer doesn’t exempt you from being transphobic btw. If you use terms like “theyfab” or “pussy4pussy” gtfo of my blog. Parroting transphobic “transmascs/enbies are just girls” rhetoric isn’t the dunk you think it is.

the transmasculine host of a well-known transgender podcast frequently implies that being transmasculine gives you male privilege.
this is exorsexism. and antitransmasculinity.
it is antitransmasculine because transmasculine people cannot achieve male privilege, especially not if society does not see them as men and especially not if they aren't men.
it's exorsexist because the podcast host seems to conveniently forget that not all transmasculine people are men, let alone binary men.
come on. the agender transmasculine person who people see as a woman doesn't have male privilege and it should be really obvious. and neither does the binary trans guy who everyone thinks is a cis guy.
it sounds like that podcast host has internalised antitransmasculinity and is projecting it onto their fellow community members, as well as forgetting that transmasculine experiences are varied and that not every transmasculine person is binary or binary-adjacent and wants HRT to "pass" as male.

I don't know if you know, but there's just been a case of a maths teacher being fired after deadnaming and misgendering a transmasc student in the UK. He, of course, couldn't accept this decision and took it to court and luckily, he lost the case (he didn't like that), but I was reading through the judiciary judgement and it's so nauseating and obviously targeted at transmascs in particular.
He refused to use his pronouns, wrote his deadname on the whiteboard, and actually pulled the student aside afterwards to warn them against taking testosterone and it causing irreversible damage. Not only that, but he straight up compared HRT (which he had no evidence the student was even on) to Mengele's experiments in Auschwitz.
The link in case anyone is curious: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Lister-v-New-College-Swindon.pdf
(cont) It's just nauseating to read the judgement and see the amount of deadnaming, misgendering but also a teacher complete move past the boundary between a student to attempt them to either a) detransition, or b) prevent them from transitioning in the first place. This teacher is essentially attempting both, the first by not respecting his social transition, and the second by in a private conversation pressuring him not to do HRT, and also speaking to HIS FRIEND, and also attempting to pressure her to talk him out of it (pg 13). I struggle to put into words how obvious it is that here and abroad, how people talk about HRT and transition in regards to transmascs and trans men is so overtly misogynistic and controlling, and so deeply rooted in misogyny. These people are furious at losing what they perceive is owed to them, it's obvious that they want emphatically to detransition trans men, and the underlying sentiment is because of an ownership over our bodies.
(The linked pdf)
Yeah, this is a fucking wreck. And it seems like a lot of reporting on this is from transphobes who see this guy like an academic martyr. Also got some hot exorsexism from this article:
“I do say this is breaching the Equality Act because you are encouraging the idea that a non-binary person can come into class and say she is a boy and by the afternoon she can say somewhere between the two,” he said.
Also, not a big fan of how they constantly use "they/them" for the trans student in question, except when it comes directly before/after a quote or sentence that would make it too awkward?

"trans men have Male Privilege and are at the top of the patriarchy due to being Real Men, so they cannot be oppressed on the basis of gender alone."
I see this SO MUCH from TIRFs trying to excuse their claims that trans men have a "victim complex" when we talk about transandrophobia, to which I say this:
that is a cis man. what you just described is a cisgender man. "trans men are real men" means "trans men are real men". it DOES NOT mean "trans men are CIS men". the fact that you think "real man" is synonymous with "cis man" is a you problem.
