Movement, Muscles & Meridians: posterior chain & the knee, UB channel and superficial back line I’m really just interested in mapping “energetic” with “structure” to compare and contrast and maybe find that they’re saying the same damn thing and maybe even find some insights from one to the other. Thank you for all the acupuncture corrections about the different channels from those that know more than I. I’m not an acupuncturist. The most remarkable thing about the Back of the Knee to me is the dance of the Urinary bladder channel. The popliteal vascular supply and the lateral superior genicular branches seem to mirror this. Not nerves, nor myofascia…okay arguably there’s a space perfectly created by the hamstrings and gastrocnemius muscles for this, but compared to the rest of the Bladder channel that simply traverses up the middle of the muscles, this fascinates me. Second note, the channel jumps up to the hip. Technically I know I’m getting the direction wrong, but I’m more interested in proving myself wrong that knee problems are not knee problems, until they are. Here we have another connection of the Knee to hip figured out way before my life time. Going through my school journey a few years back I was conditioned to believe that university would be the only way forward to succeed. When it got to A-levels I decided I wanted to pursue something different at Uni... something creative and full of exciting things and once more my teachers decided to cut away at my individuality and push me to something academic. I became unhappy and anxiety ridden about what I could do at Uni that I would both love and excel at. The time was counting down and I could feel the teachers pressure pushing down upon my shoulders. After taking my exams I decided to drop uni before it even began, I wanted to know what I wanted to do over what they wanted. I was scrutinised by EVERYONE! But after a few long months I found an entry level job that I would love, I applied and got the position as a receptionist. As soon as I joined I carried on studying at the desk, helping out others in their roles and becoming actively involved within the company and now I've got ANOTHER position, higher up and in something I love. It's still a junior role but it will lead onto bigger and better things. I just want everyone doing a-levels and GCSE's that you should choose the path for you. I failed my A-levels and my GCSE maths and yet here I am doing something I love, through my persistence, attitude and hard work. At 19 I earn more than my friends, those at uni want to drop out or are unhappy because they didn't want to go in the first place. I urge you to do what you want, if that's an apprenticeship, internship, a job or University, as long as your happy that's what matters.

Has anyone else been through this? Or has opinions / thoughts on it? I’d love to hear.

Living On The Ceiling “It was a conscious decision to keep the rooms empty. With people inside the rooms, the most important question - ‘who is living there?’ - would already be answered. Without people, the furniture starts to speak, to tell us what kind of person could live or work there. The rooms look like stills by surveillance cameras and as a viewer you remain undisturbed, able to wander around with your eyes looking down on the items that belong to someone you don't know. As the rooms are sometimes a little reminiscent of puppet houses, viewing them gives you a godlike view, a feeling of being Big Brother. I guess surveillance, and voyeurism, is still a growing phenomenon (or problem) of our time. And this again reflects back on us and how we behave in open space, which becomes a kind of stage.” - Menno Aden, Photographer. Photographer Menno Aden likes to look down on his subjects - by shooting them from above. Aden scouts rooms, businesses, bars and theatres. From there, the process begins. Aden takes wide-angle images to get an overview of the room. If he’s still interested in the aesthetic of the space he elevates his camera (with or without assistants) - sometimes with a monopod or tripod - other times with a boom. The camera is controlled remotely. Aden takes about 150 pictures from the elevated position.
