More random Hyrule Warriors thoughts:
Due to one portion of the game, people tend to focus on pride as the major theme of the game. I strongly disagree with it, because it is literally only featured in one portion of the game. I would argue that instead an accidental theme of the game is CONSENT.
Link has no voice in this game. It is overtly stated that Proxi speaks for him.
There is no choice in being Hero. In this game, when it's discovered that he's the Hero, he's immediately elevated in rank without his say. It's stated that he didn't feel worthy of it, but he would try his best. He is thrust into the spotlight and slammed with the responsibilities of Hero like very few Heroes are.
A major plot point is Cia's obsession with him. His say doesn't matter. His revulsion doesn't matter. She's an ancient sorceress and who knows how long she has been watching Link. I doubt she saw him and decided to attack his era the next day.
Another bit is the emphasis on how the Hero and Princess are destined for each other. Zelda has far more autonomy in the game than Link through her use of the Sheik disguise. It feels like "Of course Cia isn't an option: he's destined for Zelda!" Link's opinion? Who knows.
His soldiers turn traitor on him. They get to choose their side, turning on Link for something which isn't his fault and for something which counts him as a victim in the war. I see it as a popular theme in fanon: Link was the cause of the war. Not Ganon with his chosen actions. Not Cia. Link.
The major choice he made was at the beginning when he chose to run out onto the field and join the battle. Soon after, Proxi found him, made the comment about how quiet he was, and the rest was history.
Almost every Hero got some sort of choice at the beginning of their Hero's Journey. They COULD have turned away. This Link didn't get that choice. He didn't get any choices regarding his role in the war, Cia's obsession, how his soldiers-turned-traitor viewed him. And what everyone remembers about this Link is not that but the moment he gave into his pride. Ow.

like what if it's like in christmas movies, you are a career woman who is sick of everyone trying to get you a boyfriend. but itoshi sae is also sick of getting question about his relationship status, not exactly the guy with bright smiles who will change your mind about relationships.
nonetheless, somehow the two of you ended up on a dinner together and walked out with not a relationship, but instead a plan and a timeline of a fake relationship for a year. the first month is secret dates that somehow always ended up getting caught red handed by rin—or victim a; third month is moving in; then starting from the eleventh month it will be where the relationship is facing problems. then at the twelfth, the two of will break up and go on with a wound so deep that a new relationship will be impossible for the two of you for a while. it's a plan that you offered with a customer service smile and sae accepted because he is just sick of it all.
and then chats in between the meals happened, sae making sure no one touched in the part happened, sharing black coffee every morning happened, you finding sae's habits and such oddly adorable happened, and sae finding that whatever he is having with you is not bad at all. the oh moment hit. the staring at your back silently with wide eyes moment hit.
so at the ninth month, you decide to sped up the plan a little bit and tell him you will move out. you start this as a mature adult, so you will walk out before you no longer have the will to be one in front of him.
sae is like those christmas movies heroine in some ways. i no longer remember what sort of thought convinced me last 3 am but. he is. and he is a funny guy who i cant think of doing anything if it doesnt benefit his soccer career while also being the guy i really like to put in a domestic setting. probably because he is a family guy in some way???? (honestly i dont know) and then there is my recent obsession with ' i didnt mean to fall in love with you' kinda beat which go hand in hand with fake lovers. i really want this to be fluff full of moments shared together along with the crashing realization (that came twice) of "oh" moment from fake lovers trope. and. yeah im definitely confused but i think i got the spirit.

Coming here just to drop another of my unpopular takes on bleach fandom favorite skinny blonde noodle anyways to me Shinji is not only aromantic but besides Hiyori who is probably his childhood friend it's hard for him to care about other people. Not to say he doesn't, he definitely likes Momo and the other vizards but it's something he has to actively work on. His first impressions are always of disinterest or in Aizen's case, distrust. It's why the military is a good environment for him, that way his disregard for other's safety is overshadowed by his ability to make hard calls in battle.
That's why he looks at any pretty girl and thinks they're his first love - he's attracted to them, but when that attraction ends, his interest on sustaining any form of relationship (romantic or friendly) vanishes to the point he often forgets them.
And that's why I don't really ship him with anyone but Aizen, it's hard for me to see him having a committed relationship or opening up to anyone. And even in Aizen's case it's more about Aizen angst and how ironic it is that Shinji not trusting him hurt him so deeply when that was probably the mostly intense Shinji has ever felt over someone.

further ponderificationating on vampires, i realized they get killed by wooden stakes because wood floats on water and flowing water can kill vampires too so wood > water > vampire

please consider how you engage with aaron bushnell's death. you may react to it as you will, but it's crucial to remember that his death was specifically a call to action. it was not meant solely to shock but to draw attention to a vast moral hypocrisy: that to many, a soldier dying in a campaign backed by the U.S. government is noble, even if the soldier kills innocents to do so, even if the cause is morally bankrupt--but this? this is insanity. a man taking his own life, on his own terms, in an attempt to help others while hurting nobody else, is somehow less rational and more horrifying than the mass killing of civilians.
of course aaron's death was horrific. but as he said beforehand, it is realistically no more horrific than what's happening in gaza. if we can't stomach this, then why can we stomach children being bombed? thousands being starved? for all that self immolation is, it brings death in a matter of minutes. it is a fraction of the amount of pain, fear, and grief that people in gaza are experiencing. it's just that we are able to quantify it. and this tiny, quantifiable sliver of horror is still so unbelievably awful. how can anyone bear to think about anything else when this horror is happening a millionfold in palestine? this is the question aaron bushnell was asking. and he wanted you to face it, head-on, watching him burn to death.
I've been seeing people make fanart. minimalist graphics to sell on t-shirts. to commodify his death, to mythologize it not a day afterwards, is not only in poor taste but a hindrance to his message. the answer is not commodification, nor is it defeatism, nor is it rejoicing in his death. if you want to honor aaron's legacy, take action. channel your horror and your outrage into making a material change. this wasn't about him. this was about palestine. remember that it was always about palestine.

I headcanon that all of Yoda's finest teacups were made by younglings
In fact most masters of the order's finest teacups were made during crèche crafting time when the kids were learning pottery.

So I've been doing this thing for months where I just start grabbing one of my plushies to have as tummy support to prevent me from leaning too far forward towards my screen (the plush pushes me back as it's against the desk).
Maybe not good advice but for now it's better than me leaning all the way forward like a dog

YOU might feel only disabled by society but some of us can't breathe or toilet on our own. Please stop saying it's just society. Please. It's so annoying and upsetting. Yeah we need ramps and people should act better, but even with a barrier free world I'm still gonna be crippled as shit.

#my art#marinette dupain cheng#miraculous ladybug#miraculous fanart#style mimic#sorry for the @s btw#yall should go follow those artists if you dont already also#this was sort of inspired by a post the three artists on the top row made#i think they all got together and drew with one another#which is really cool#but i was genuinely confused because i mimic styles a lot#and ive seen others do it too so i was just like#wow they really know each others styles really well#until i thought about it and read their posts some more#style mimicking is really freaking fun and i think its really good practice#and a good way to explore other ways of doing things#like you really have to learn new techniques and get out of your comfort zone#also anna scribbles i could not find a recent pic of marinette in her main outfit#so thats the only marinette i drew in different clothes cuz i couldnt find a more recent ref of you drawing it#anna scribble marinette has privileges thats the others dont#but ye#i also threw my own style in there as a frame of reference to what me draw like#ive drawn marinette before just not in a loooong while#sabertooth walrus was the hardest for me to mimic cuz they have a broad range in their style#so its like which sabertooth do i wanna be in this pic#Buggachat has such a distinct style thats very clean and consistent which is amazing so they were easy#being easy or hard arent bad things either it also has to do with like styles meeting up with one another#buggachats and mine arent too too different in some shapes and aspects#so yeah itd be easier plus they drew marinette like 3 sec ago so i have more recent of a ref#as opposed to sabertooth who i have a recent ref of ladybug but not marinette so we got two diff styles in one
