Cover of "Ready For This" from Hazbin Hotel but it's by a deranged autistic teenager! And yes, I did all the voices, every. single. one. :,) I'm no professional singer, never had a lesson in my life but I had fun with this! (And yes this is a repost :3 this video just has better audio and video quality to do myself justice so it doesn't sound like I'm WHISPERING 😞)
Anyways this is all Alastor's fault because he made me have a gender crisis and made me wanna sound like a man 😡😡😡 /hj (good thing I have a naturally deep singing voice LMAOO- though I'm definitely not gonna be Charlie's singing voice anytime soon 💀)

The Jungle Book (1967)
Tumblr media
The Jungle Book is a wonderful coming of age animated musical film that follows Mowgli as he learns to grasp his identity of man. The music in this film is a combination of a rich score, songs lacking in cultural authenticity, and a framed structure that is easily interpreted.
Tumblr media
In what ways does the film’s score situate the story with its narrative context?
Because the film is a coming of age story, while situated within a dangerous jungle where Mowgli's life is at stake, the score is composed of jazz that communicates four main emotions. Those are mystery, danger, curiosity, and happiness. Mowgli, making his way through the jungle with the help of Baloo and Bagheera, is either in a mysterious situation, in a dangerous situation, filled with curiosity, or completely blissful. This is communicated through the score which establishes that the jungle is a mysterious and dangerous place. It then goes on to communicate when Mowgli is not in danger and exploring or filled with happiness. The opening credits that show the darkness of the jungle combined with the mysterious score perfectly set the scene for Mowgli's trek through it.
youtube
How do songs use character performance to push cultural authenticity in the film’s diegesis?
The cultural authenticity in this film is lacking. Even though the film takes place in the jungles of India, the style of music performed by the characters and executed in the score is composed of jazz, Dixieland jazz, barbershop quartets and pop. Other than the small uses of snake charming music, which originates from India, the styles are all American or European. Although the film lacks this crucial cultural authenticity, the performances of the characters are upbeat which through the genre of the music, makes a fun film. The "Trust in Me" number, in which Kha the snake hypnotizes Mowgli, is a standout use of culturally authentic music to craft a scene of danger which leads Mowgli down his path of mistrusting everyone. After this plot point, Mowgli realizes he has to have his guard up at all times and additionally, he cannot rely on anyone to save him from Shere Khan.
youtube
In what ways does the film use musical "framing" to structure the score within familiarized styles?
The structure of the films score progresses from mystery and intrigue in the beginning, to curiosity and happiness in the middle, to danger and fear in the ending. This structure helps progress the narrative of the film and encompass the many emotions Mowgli feels as a result of the situations he's in. This rising and falling of conflict reflected in the score helps structure the film and relates to other styles as it is easily understood. In the final fight scene amongst Mowgli, Shere Khan, and Baloo, the dramatic crashes of the jazz score aid the emphasis on the climax.

Scrooge Netflix review
Hello Hello everyone. Long time no post - I know. It has been just one thing after another for me. However, I am back and I want to kick this post off with a few thoughts about the new Netflix take on the story A Christmas Carol, named Scrooge. I will give a few thoughts before giving it my spoiler side of it.
First, I will be candid that there is nothing really new to the story that has not done a million times before with a Christmas Carol. Most people know if it by now, so story wise, it is not something to say. Except for one or two characters that I will touch upon later
However, I will say that the animation is rather beautiful. I know some people might not like it, but the CGI does a good job capturing the expressions on characters and some of the harsh cuts of them as well as their more softer side. (Especially for one of the ghost that is rather impressive what they do with it). Additionally the voice acting was really good. Luke Evans playing Scrooge surprisingly worked for him - I know he is not a bad actor, but he certainly had me doing double takes to make sure that was him.
And I will be candid that, from watching the credits, I will say that a lot of work and passion was put into this film in honor of one of the writers and possible song composers - that seems to have passed on. And yes, slight spoiler, but this movie is a musical; so will not go too harsh on the music but I will say that I will be honest a few of them do not really stick. Rest in peace Leslie Bricusse.
Overall, if you are in the mood to give this a try and want something that you can just enjoy the visuals of the film and some more touching/ terrifying moments animated by the story, worth a shot for this Christmas year. Personally can see this being a good something nice to listen to in the back ground and visually appealing
Alright spoilers from here on out.
So, thoughts about this film that are spoiler filled. So be warned.
Personally, this film could have cut a few things and lingered on a few more things. This film has lots of moments that feel like you get why they were in there, but then why did they go that far or make the story really really tug on THAT particular heart string.
For example in the film, Bob Cratchit - Scrooge’s assistant - has a distinctive eye coloring to make him stand out - cool. But then we learn about Scrooge’s past and his partnership with Marely in action - with some additional eyes on them as well but will get to later. And we see a bakery being closed for not paying Marely the fee he lent to them and saying some words that are a bit on the nose of what Scrooge said to Bob before hand - which is nice call back, but still on the nose. And we see a mother carrying a baby that turns out to be Bob and it is supposed to make Scrooge realize that his actions have consequences - I get that. It does work, but I feel they kinda lean on it to make sure visually then paring it with visual imagery of Bob currently in the back to say “This is the child you fucked up Scrooge, you caused this man’s downfall.” And they really hit home how much he affected this family. I think it would have been better that maybe it was not clear as the baby looked like Bob, and then something in a conversation with Bob could have made Scrooge realized the error then instead of having the obvious visual cue.
On a side note - Past was probably my second fav character to Scrooge in this film. She had the most fun with the role as well as visually had so much more flexibility for jokes and visual motifs as well. I love she is literally a candle and the waxy formation of her is mold-able.
Speaking of visual, I will say that the next thing that I will say was the follow sequence that scene when Scrooge’s fiance/ love Isabel, is trying to talk with Scrooge now before she finally leaves him. And the song that follows it is simple as well as some of the visuals really beautiful as it is just between Isabel trying to plea to her version of Scrooge while Old Scrooge realized her plea and telling his past he needed to take her before she left. It was beautiful and I will say the one song I think - while simple - deserves some love. So attaching a link in below:
https://youtu.be/QUyvmVDwqfw
Also, they have a pupper in the film name Prudence, so cute.
Now there was a time where I think they could have either done away with an extra song or spent some more time with would be the song for the Present - not sure which one it is off the top of my head - or the second song that Tiny Tim and His sister sing. I think both were meh songs, but it would have hit so much harder if they had more time to make the songs for either person a bit more memorable. For me that is. If they were someone’s favorite, that is great.
But I will say there is one scene that I think kinda felt morbid was the scene with Future and one of the characters is practically on Scrooge’s grave. And narratively, there is a point for it as well and it is pretty tongue and cheek music number, it does not help that the dog is the one to try to break the immersion of the song and letting Scrooge keep living in denial when we all know that it is not true. Personally, I don’t mind it but I am sure other’s will find it a bit strange.
And speaking of strange, I will address that while I do love musical films, I know that it is not everyone’s thing. And this has a lot of moments that feel like - I know there is music coming but at the same time does this really need to happen now. Some of them definitely needed to be cut, but otherwise, I liked the music. Not too bad.
Overall, Scrooge is certainly at least a watch and worth a few minutes of your time to watch it.

OH MY FUCKING GOD GABRIEL/HAWK MOTH SINGS!!!
But I hate his new mask.
The song sounds like it was composed by Frank Wildhorn.
In French:
youtube
So the series was trying to be like the MCU. But this scene from the movie looks like it's trying to be Disney.
Thanks to @ms-nunuvurbsness for telling me about this!
. . . but I still prefer Hawk Moth's original song . . .

WE'RE HIRING VOICE ACTORS FOR OUR MOVIE Want to be in an Independant, 2D animated, musical, furry based movie?
(READ ALL THE FINE PRINT BEFOREHAND, DO NOT JUST SKIM.)
Actor pay: You will earn from the revenue from the movie, we have a tight budget and this is a passion project. It's also this studio's first film altogether. If you don't agree, don't audition. Simple. (Depending on what things change over time you may be paid in advance per-movie release.)
[Read our Terms of Casting and Detail Entireties(TOCADE) before continuing:
0.ONLY HIRING; LGBTQIA+ SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE.
1.The information given in these listings is the bare minimum, if you take interest in any of these roles please remember that before you audition we'll give more details on these characters to make it more specific.
Please understand that if you are new to the voice acting side of the animation industry or even the acting industry as a whole, that you may not get picked and even may not get an email back, because not only have several people auditioned before you but we also run a tight schedule and have an even tighter budget to work with.
3.Our expectations for the character's voices are extremely specific, if even the slightest detail in your audition performance is off, you will either be asked to correct it or be passed over. However, if there is a trait you want to suggest be added to the character you can, this does not mean it will be, but it is an accepted endearment and on rare occasions the trait shall be added.
All auditionees must be 16 years or older to audition, this isn't a suggestion, it is a rule of the Crookedaverse.inc hiring sector. If you are a minor you must have consent from a guardian.
You do not have to be any of the ages listed in the character's "Age box" to audition, it is just an extra detail. You do, however, have to have the voice octave listed in the 'what we're looking for' section and be 16 or older to have a chance at being picked. This term is requesting the bare minimum.
All actors/auditionees must have the strong enough capability to sing seeing as this is a musical.
The pay may seem odd at first, but please understand, our budget is tight seeing as this is my/our first indie production, and this is entirely a passion project.
That all being said, let's get this show on the road!]

A; You contact us directly through the provided email, we give you info and audition lines for a character, and then you send us either a clear voice recording or video of your lines. We'll decide later if we want you as a VA or not. Q; "Where will the movie be released and when?" A; We're trying for Cinemark and PEACOCK. As for release dates we aren't completely sure but we're shooting for later this year to middle of the next (2024-2025).

Additional information: Currently we aren't animating yet, we still need a brand new artist 16 magic drawing pad for that, that's what the Etsy and Kickstarter will be for, so don't expect to hear back from us regarding casting for quite a while seeing as it's a busy time. We aren't hiring any outside/extra animators, writers, etc, for this one. The writer and animator is the creator of this studio and this movie, they will be doing most of the work with some exceptions.
For auditions, extra info, or questions regarding any of the topics above go to [email protected] and use the tagline REGARDING MOONSTANDERS so it isn't sorted into spam or junk.
