With the newest update, it's got me thinking a lot about Karai's role in this au. More on her actions and treatment of Leo and what lies in the future for her. It's been mentioned and made obvious that the "sibling" (i say in quotes since Karai doesn't even see Leo as an equal) relationship between Leo and Karai is nothing short on unhealthy and toxic. Thus, Leo learning what a real relationship with siblings is with the Hamato family. Karai wants to be the better soldier in the Shredder's eyes and seems to take any opportunity to bring down Leo. But something I keep thinking about is what happens to her after Leo has the emperyon removed and (along with the apocalypse future) after stopping the invasion. Basically, is there still a chance at some sort of redemption for her, or are her actions throughout the au unable to be forgiven. It's said that after Leo leaves the Foot, she tries to prove to Shredder that she didn't even need him to begin with and can handle herself just fine. The only time we've seen her act nice towards Leo is right after the session with Kitsune, where Leo is pretty out of it, but who's to say how often that happens. And then there's Leo himself and how he sees Karai after all that happens. Does he just try and forget about her, or does he hold any kind of resentment like Shredder. There's the question of whether he would be willing to forgive her for her actions. Though this isn't even taking into how Karai wasn't actually Shredder daughter but Splinter's instead.
I know that the answer to this is most likely spoilers, but I could into a whole character analysis on whether redemption is an option for Karai or if she's reached a point like Shredder. It would be interesting to hear you thought on what you can say. Though for the time being, I can wait to see what happens! Thanks for coming to my TedTalk, I hope you have a great day, and remember to stay hydrated! :D
Some of the future stuff is kinda spoilers, but I will say, she’s not a monster on the same level as Saki. She’s certainly not an angel, but she will have her own arc and we’ll see how the chips fall.
At the moment in the comic, Karai thinks seeing Leo fail is a necessary stepping stone to proving her own worth and she’s very bitter over Leo earning a commander title before her. Once Leo leaves, and she has most of Saki’s attention on her, she realizes that the Shredder will never be pleased, Karai starts to rethink her feelings toward Leo, and realizes how much she misses how they used to be. She also has no idea of Shredder’s full plan to create his own dark armor to imprison Leo.
In the past Karai, Usagi, and Leo were…friends (after a rocky start) for a very few short years. Usagi being probably the most distant, for the obvious reasons of hating Saki and the Foot Clan. But with Karai and Leo following him around, training together, and bunking together, he eventually stops taking his anger out on them, and becomes a reluctant participant in their childish hi-jinks. Unfortunately, that does not last long.
Around a year before Usagi manages his escape, Leo’s goofing around on a mission leads to Karai getting seriously hurt. As a result Saki punishes Leo so severely and Leo gets the crack on his plastron. Usagi goes to see Leo, but it’s like he’s a totally different person after that. Leo no longer smiles or jokes and takes training much too seriously.
Karai isn’t much better. She seems to meet Leo’s cold attitude with one of her own, and her teasing becomes much harsher and biting. They all grow distant and Usagi sees no other option but to try and escape. Usagi even extends his hand to Leo when the two cross paths, hoping that Leo would snap out of this strange, new personality he’s adopted, but when Leo doesn’t even react, Usagi turns and leaves for good.
Things get even more strained without Usagi around to act as mediator. The only time Karai allows herself to show she cares, are the moments after Leo’s sessions because he is so out of it. She assumes he doesn’t remember enough that she can be a little softer with him, and Leo usually never calls attention to those times, so who knows.
Once Leo spends time with his family, and sees how a healthy sibling relationship should look, he often wonders how things might’ve been different growing up in the safety of the Hamato Clan. When the family learns that Karai is actually their sister, Leo makes it his mission to save her from the Foot Clan.

Brooo, i wonder if mikey sometimes looks for his other human friends that only exist in that one iteration. I wonder if he looks at karai in 12 and rise and remembers all the times she tried to kill him and his brothers, sometimes succeding. I- ahhhh this au is soo cool
It's hard for him with each new life. Some of those memories are just so vivid and real that he has to literally fight himself from reacting in a certain way. Like with Karai it took everything he had not to hunt her down and tell her to stay away from his brothers, especially Leo who's always got a habit of being closer to her whether he means to or not in their past lives.
People like Angel, Casey Marie and a few others he's always constantly looking for them whether he intends to or not. It's hard not to when he knew them in one life but they cease to exist in another. There are times when the lines will blur together and the lives and memories can confuse him.
It's a constant struggle for him to try and keep everything separated from the past memories and his current ones. And he does all of it while keeping his family in the dark. Why tell them about these lives they've lived when none of them remember?
There's just so much to explore with this concept and it's why I'm taking such a liking to it cuz it's just so cool to think about it! Like each variation of the boys being a past life and Mikey, the sweetest and most optimistic of the boys holding onto this horrific knowledge with each new cycle. And being forced in a way to keep up this facade of everything being fine???
Like dude it's just too good not to play around with bet.

TMNT 2003 is a prime example of a cartoon that I did not appreciate as a kid (in fact, I'm pretty sure I disliked it back when it originally aired) but now as an adult entering her late 20s I'm absolutely loving it.
Of course, the thing that's throwing me off is knowing that it was an in-house production at 4Kids—yes, THAT 4Kids—and yet within the first three seasons I've watched so far (put under a "Read More" because some of this is genuinely triggering)
In general, characters can and WILL die on screen. It may not be the most graphic death, but still, they are very much dead.
The Underground Mutants are heavily implied to have violently killed the Foot Scientists who transformed them.
The tribute episode to Jack Kirby ends with Kirby being left behind in the other world after failing to get through the portal in time before it disappeared, leaving Donatello distraught (the revised version of the ending is even more heartbreaking.)
While training on his own, Leonardo is attacked by and nearly beaten to death by the Shredder's Foot Ninjas. His injuries are so bad that he ultimately ends up in a coma.
The turtles, Splinter, April, and Casey all nearly die when the Shredder blows up April's antique store.
Towards the end of season 1, Leonardo defeats the Shredder via decapitation. I know he's actually an alien in a robotic exoskeleton, but still.
Leatherhead is thought to have died when the Turtles' original lair collapsed on top of him. (Fortunately, he is revealed to have survived in a later episode.)
Over the course of the series, Baxter Stockman's body is continuously mutilated until he's just a brain in a jar.
Zog, a delirious Triceraton soldier who is convinced that the Turtles are his superior officers, sacrifices himself to the stop Shredder, a sacrifice that is proven to have been in vain at the end of the episode when Karai picks up the Shredder from the ocean.
In an effort to try and learn Professor Honeycutt's location, the Triceratons use a mind probe device on a captured Don to read his memories. The experience of having his mind violated just to glean information from him is CLEARLY painful, as Don is screaming and writhing the entire time until Splinter spiritually contacts him. (I THINK that's what happened, anyway.)
"The Darkness Within" episode has the Turtles experience their worst fears in nightmares provided by a giant Eldritch Abomination. Leonardo and Donatello's stand out in particular since they see people die (Splinter is killed protecting Leo while Angel falls to her death in Don's)
Five words: Same As It Never Was. While Mikey ends up in a superhero AU, Raphael races motorcycles, and Leonardo gets to reunite with Usagi (albeit under less than ideal circumstances) after being tossed across the multiverse by Ultimate Draco, Donatello ends up in a bad future where the Shredder rules the world, Casey and Splinter are dead, and the turtles disbanded after Donatello's disappearance 30 years earlier due to infighting. To top it all off, Donatello ends up watching all three of his brothers die protecting him. Seriously TMNT 2003, STOP KICKING DONNIE.
Leatherhead is highkey implied to have killed some of Bishop's henchmen in a, uh, messy fashion protecting the Turtles.
That same episode, Bishop gets impaled on a hook. It's just a flesh wound.
During the final battle at the end of Season 3, Splinter is electrocuted, Karai accidentally stabs Leonardo when Shredder kicks him onto her katana, all the turtles suffer grievous injuries ranging from fractured backs to broken limbs, and they make the difficult decision to sacrifice themselves in order to finally defeat Shredder once and for all. Thank god the Utroms intervened, or the next four seasons wouldn't have happened.

I've been shipping Mikey and Angel for 18 years!
The episode "The Darkness Within" from TMNT (2003) aired on January 29, 2005. (I was five years old at the time.) The episode centers on Angel, who knocks on the Turtles' warehouse door to tell them that something terrible has happened. Angel, in my opinion, is one of the best things to come from this series, and I wish she was in more episodes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I saw that Angel, out of all the turtles, had chosen to take comfort in Mikey's arms, something inside of me suddenly just resonated.
Throughout the episode, she just seemed to gravitate towards Mikey. It's like the show's creators wanted us to ship them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Angel's already at second base with Mikey.) 👀👇

(Thumbs up from cute BF)
I thought that this part was funny.

Anyway, I've been shipping Mikey and Angel for eighteen years; I call them Angelangelo. I mean, Mikey's full name is a ship name within itself (Michelangelo). I made this post because I realized the anniversary of the episode that made me ship them had just recently passed.
Also, I want to point out that Mikey is the only one who didn't have a love interest in the TMNT (2003) series. Raph has Joy, Leo has Karai, and Donnie has a whole bunch of possible love interests, but his crush on April is shown the most. So, I chose to pair Mikey with Angel.

a cute little exchange between Mikey and Angel in "Fallen Angel," Angel's debut episode.

And finally, I would like to mention that I ship TMNT 2003 Angel with ROTTMNT Mikey. I just like to think that their personalities mesh well together. They would take an interest in each other's interests. He likes her purple pigtails and gently plays with them, and she's the "Excuse Me, He Asked for No Pickles" meme.
🚫 PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THIS SHIP 🚫

● 👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: April, Angel, Splinter and Raphael rush Casey to the hospital while Donatello and Michelangelo search the area around the docks for Leonardo. Paralleling the scene, Shredder, Karai and Alopex rush Leonardo back to one of the Foot's hideouts. April and Angel arrive at the hospital and get Casey inside; Splinter and Raph head home to meet Donnie and Mikey. Arriving at their hideout, Shredder dismissed Karai and Alopex and brings Leo to Kitsune. Casey is brought to an operating room while Leo is brought to a room Kitsune has prepared for a magic ritual.
At the Turtles' home, Donnie and Mikey present the only clue they could find to Splinter, one of Leo's katanas. However, they also show him the message they found scrawled on their wall when they arrived, an invitation from Hob to meet near the East River at midnight. At the Foot's hideout, Kitsune uses powerful dark magic to warp Leonardo's memories, altering them so that Splinter appears to be his enemy and the Shredder his ally. He even hallucinates that Splinter has killed his brothers, leaving him devastated.
In the hospital waiting room, Angel tells April about some of her and Casey's history – how their dad's were friends who had them around the same time, letting them grow up together. Angel tells April how she lost her mother in a car accident and didn't cope well, taking to running with the street gange the Purple Dragons. It was Casey that kept her from getting too deep into the gang lifestyle and winding up in jail or dead. The doctor brings them into Casey's room and tells them his condition is stable but he will likely never play hockey again. April wonders if they should call Casey's dad, but Angel already told her dad to tell him, saying he'd probably be too drunk to care anyways. Casey's dad, who was about to enter the room, overhears, and leaves.
Splinter, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo arrive at the meeting point and find Hob with Slash. Hob tells them he knows where Leonardo is, and he can help them get him back. Hob says he can sense tension in the city escalating, and they need to choose sides. He offers to partner up with the Turtles, despite their past altercations. Splinter says if he really can lead them to Leonardo, he will consider the offer. At the Foot's hideout, Kitsune's work is complete, and Leonardo accepts the Shredder as his new master.

[Foot Clan Casey for Karai]
Casey merely stood in the doorway of Karai's bedroom, silent, for once, as he watched his three sisters - Angel, Karai, and Shinigami. It was pretty common for them to hang out together, he assumed it was just a girl thing. It had him smiling though, seeing them like this. Just relaxed, having fun, as if they were a normal family, that did normal family things.
Sigh...if only they could be that though.
Stepping inside a little, he lifted a hand, and rubbed the back of his neck, making himself known
"I know this is like some 'girls night' thing an' I aint a girl, but uh, I aint a guy either - I'm just Casey."
And Casey sometimes got lonely when all his sister's hung out without him. Not like there was really anyone in the clan he could chill with, and he was spending sometime from the Turtles, he didn't want to blow his cover instantly, so that meant some distance sometimes. It sucked, and he wasn't exactly subtle about it either as he tries to shrug nonchalantly,
"So, uh, yer got room for one more?"
| Muse interaction
Karai rested back against the wall of her room eyes closed a moment not all to apart of the conversation going on between Angel and Shin in the moment. Enough to know they were in the least speaking between themself. Angel always seem pretty in awe of Shin who always was more than happy to play in to that fact herself 'preforming' some trick for the youngest girl. Karai peeked an eye open to watch Angel's face a moment as Shin was show boating her trick to the girl. It was nice, she wish she could better word and describe the feeling settling over her shoulders but that was the truly the only word that stood out. It was something she only knew after Father brought these new kids in to her life, and claimed they were her new brother and sister. Karai had to be honest was a bit of a spoiled child, used to being the only real kid of Shredders. That gave her some special treatment among the foot clan so two new kids he brought in? As childish as it may be she felt threatened by their mere existence.
Seems so long forgotten a time when she didn't have them at all. Karai didn't like to stay in that thought for long. How dark and bleak life just was. It was just her and her father, his pride and joy all she strive to be and become was what he wished of her. So why add more? Wasn't she enough? Funny how childish jealously can work in ones mind. Attention shifting when she noticed a third presence. Looking at Casey standing in the door way. Hm guess he was in the compound tonight and not running off with the turtles? She had to wonder how much of that was him simply fulfilling his mission needs. And how much for other needs. Kind of like now, something about how he was standing there in the door way had her attention the most. He looked lonely. Casey finally made his way in to the room, seeming to gain the attention from Shin and Angel in the process of course Angel was more than happy to have her older brother here now too. Shin moving to relax where she was sitting. Offering nothing more than just a glance to show she was acknowledge Casey's presence. Playing nice it seemed. As Casey moved to rub at the back of his neck seeming a bit awkward when he went to speak up just now.
"I know this is like some 'girls night' thing an' I aint a girl, but uh, I aint a guy either - I'm just Casey."
Yep he was lonely. Not that Karai fully understood why that was the case in the first place. He could just be around her or Angel anytime he wanted? Angel loved him for one and always liked to spend time with either of them. They may be her adopted siblings but Karai did have to point out the fact that they were related. So Casey did always have Angel. Hell Karai often went into his room under the guise of simply there to annoy him as a sort of invite on her own end. Maybe Casey sometimes liked to be alone? Though she was aware Casey seemed to spend time around some of the clans foot ninja.
Didn't need to be a genius to know what was going on there. Nor did you need to be one to understand something about being around the turtles seemed to be effecting him as well. Mainly Raphael. Not like Casey would say a thing about any of that, Casey knew what he had to do. Karai chopped it up to Casey weird interests. A so called monster fucker, she didn't get it she didn't want to get it. Casey might just bee seeking to fulfill a need who knows.
Okay Karai cared. It was easier to pin it down as Casey just playing the game. Raphael was pretty stand offish. She's dealt with him before and how quick he is to be suspicious after all. So in theory getting in close with the enemy made sense. Least it was the lie Karai was ready to give and back up if Shredder ever found out or saw something like she had. Which made her feel annoyed. Even if it was him screwing around just to do so. Could least tell her. Why don't you just fuck off with your turtles sometimes she wanted to snap with even. he seemed to like being around them.
Now she was annoyed again she hasn't felt this way since Casey and Angel were brought home from the foster home they were in before. Was she really jealous about the time he spent with the turtles. Seemed she had been quite for far too long as Casey added on to his question.
"So, uh, yer got room for one more?"
Tumblr media
Karai offers a faint scoff "Since when did you learn to be polite hmm" why would you feel the need to ask? "hanging around those turtles starting to effect you or something?" She counties to taunt a small way to snap over it all. That only Shin seemed to note as she paid a glance towards her, smiling that knowing grin. Karai ignored her and moved to stand up. as she made her way over to Casey, grabbing on to his arm. "You might just be Casey, but you'll still need to play along with our plans got it?"
They weren't even really up to anything at the time, just more all sitting in her room. Angel joining in and Shin just can't resist a chance to show off to such an impressionable audience. But Shin always knew when to play along and Angel was no better than Karai when it came to having Casey do what they wanted.
"What you think Angel? Touch up his eyes maybe?" Not that Casey ever seemed to mind getting some paint on his face but that didn't mean she wasn't going to mess with him, a tad bit of punishment for ditching them so much. As shin held out a few choice for eye liner. Well sliding over the palettes of eye shadow ngeks way. Shin moving over already asking Angel's thoughts for colors.
Karai moving to sit tugging Casey with herself he had to follow her lean and take a spot on the floor with her. She opted for the liquid eyeliner in favor of the brush nip end. Smirking a bit "like i said gotta go along with what we were up to."
Karai doubles down before she untwists the handle of the eye liner and sets it to Casey's face. There's no way Casey dosent at least expect Karai's aim her but of course the push over he was put up with it as she painted the black liner thickly around his eyes letting it drip here and there even. "Look cay you're gonna be the pretties of us all." She chuckles a little even if Casey was unaware of her motives he for sure would have it cleared up now. It was a harmless prank and Karai was sure she was going to be next so Casey could get his revenge in turn. Oh well shell play nice since it would mean getting him to stick around. Instead of sulking off alone or worse.

So there's something that I've been thinking regarding some things about the TMNT fear episodes.
Most specifically, I'm talking about both TMNT 2k3 and 2k12 episodes.
Now, before I say anything further about this topic, please note that this is my own opinion about this subject. My opinion may not agree with yours and that's fine. I'm just putting this out there to clear my own head and air out my own feelings about the topic.
To start, the TMNT episodes that deal with the fear are:
- TMNT 2K3: The darkness within
- TMNT 2K12: Fungus Humungous
So there have been people who like to pinpoint Fungus Humungous as a showcase of showing how 2k12 Donnie's fear is inferior to 2k3 Don's. They state that 2k12 Donnie is shallow and just superficial because his fear is about April flat out rejecting him.
Don, in the meantime, has his fear of seeing Angel die right before his eyes.
...Yeah.
So, yeah, on the surface, it does seem shallow and superficial. But taking in previous episodes into account (as well as a bit of dialogue), I feel that there is absolutely more than meets the eye.
Let's take into account the human girls that Donnie himself has encountered up until this episode.
Only two.
And one of them is Karai who, up until this point, is the Shredder's daughter.
The other one is April, who's one of the only humans to actually be his friend. Sure, there was a bit of a love at first sight going, but eh. Whatcha gonna do?
And April, up until the Season 2 opener, has been nothing but nice to him. Him. A mutant turtle. In a world where the people would just reject him at first sight.
She took the time to befriend him.
She took the time to be nice to him.
And I bet that up until that point, the only love that he's felt came from his brothers and father, which is nice and all. But it doesn't facilitate human contact the way that April does.
So him latching onto her makes more sense to me because she is the first person, the first girl to treat him as an equal.
And she doesn't exactly push him away. She's kind to him and doesn't treat him as if he's an evil monster or vile creature.
...And then the Season 2 opener happens.
After that happens, in her grief, she angrily cuts them (him) down and rejects them for her dad's mutation. But in that scene, she looks at Donnie specifically. As if she wanted him to feel most, if not all, of that hurt.
Donnie is basically rejected, even though it's not because of his mutation. He's rejected by a girl who, up until now, treated him like he was a human being.
And now, that's thrown away.
During that time of hurt, guilt, and sadness, he suddenly sees someone else come into her life and basically cheer up when he can't.
More specifically, when he's not allowed to.
At first, Donnie might feel jealous of Casey because of his crush on April. But I also feel that he's envious of Casey comforting her when he himself can't...because Casey offers her something that, deep down inside, he knows he can't give her. He doesn't have the grounded normalcy that Casey gives as a human friend.
Compounding into that, there is a big tell that Donnie may not be fearing from rejection from April alone, but the possibility of rejection itself. From someone who was the first person to not turn him away because of his status as a mutated turtle.
What's the biggest tell of this sequence that a lot of people miss, you may ask?
When she turns Godzilla/Voice of the Legion at Donnie during his hallucination, she says that she'll never forgive him for mutating her father.
It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it line, but there is a massive possibility that Donnie, even after he's made up with April, still feels incredibly guilty at what happened. And considering he has those feelings for April, this guilt is magnified tenfold under the effects of the mushroom.
Of course, everyone focuses mostly on how Donnie has a crush on April.
So, in order to explain it the best way possible, picture yourself as Donnie.
You've lived your life away from people to the point where you don't know what a friendship or even platonic acquaintance relationship is like. Suddenly, you meet someone who is not bad-looking on the eyes. It's love at first sight, but then they treat you as an equal when most others would treat you with fear and suspicion.
Then, something happens and you enter a period where it's rough and you don't know whether this relationship can be savaged. It doesn't help that someone else is there to be your superior in some way, shape or form. But as the days go by and you work hard to fix your mistake, you also might wonder if you can fix it or if you will be forgiven at all.
When that forgiveness does happen, your mistake lingers in the back of your mind.
And now you're hallucinating your biggest insecurities and those words replaying in your head and hurting your heart.
Some of you might say, "Oh, I wouldn't let a crush become my greatest fear." And yeah, you might not. But I know that's there some of you that might have the same fear of rejection and loneliness.
TL;DR: 2k12 Donnie's fear is not just based on a crush rejecting him, but guilt and fear of crippling loneliness brought on by rejection of someone he likes who treated him nicely in the past because of years of not interacting with any human since birth.

My ideal TMNT series
So I feel like it’s been a while since a great tmnt series has really been made, at least to me.  The 2003 series was a pretty good one and all other series have their pros and cons.  So these are my ideas for an improved tmnt series.
-The main difference would be the turtles would finally look like proper turtles; beaks, tails, claws on their hands and feet rather than the cartoons digits. I think for once there should be a physically correct portrayal of them. They would have some differentiating traits among them somewhat like “rise of the tmnt” but not to the extent of the Michael bay movies. They were also be shorter than past media, with the tallest only being about 5’3.
-Another major deviation would be that karai would hold the shredder mantle as the main antagonist. The oroku saki shredder would be her adopted father and predecessor and have died in a duel with splinter before the start of the series.  He would still remain a presence and his actions have lasting impact through the series. Karai would be heavily influenced by a desire for revenge and her character and appearance would be identical to season 4 of the 2003 series.
-Krang would be the shadowy benefactor and ally of the foot and the hidden true antagonist.
-Splinter would be based mostly on the 2003 series version, which was the best at balancing his role as teacher, father and warrior.  He would be brown furred but greying in spots. He would have a past flame in Chikara-Shisho, master of the battle nexus tournament.
-April O’Neil would be African American like the original comics and would be a reporter again.  In homage of the 80s cartoon, she would have a signature yellow jacket (not jumpsuit).  Her character would be a hybrid of “rise of the tmnt” and the 2003 series. She would hold more of an older sister relationship to the turtles here.
-casey jones would be the same as usual, why fix what’s ain’t broken
-Much like the 2012 series there would be spread of ooze that would produce many of the known mutants, primarily leatherhead, bebop, rocksteady, slash, mona lisa.
-I would also import some of the favored characters introduced in the IDW comics, mainly old hob, diamond, alopex and Zom(who would be zogs sister and come to earth to find then avenge him, thus joining the turtles)
-Despite the controversy, I would introduce venus de milo as the lost fifth turtle, but only in a short arc based on her origin in “the next mutation” series before pushing her aside back to her task in japan, with only sparse mentions or appearances by her.
-other one-off or recurring antagonists would be baxter stockman, hun(2003 based), bishop(IDW based), kitsune, the triceratons, the stone generals, the dark turtles, Sh'Okanabo, viral, Lord Dregg(80s based), drago and the dragons(based on “the rank”), Savanti romero, the shredder clones.
-major story arcs that would be retained would be baxter stockmans mousers, shredder return/farmhouse exile, turtles in space/triceratons, TCRI/utroms, battle nexus, time travels
-like the 2003 series, I would want to emphasize the turtles “family” growing with all their new friends and allies (april, casey, angel, venus, leatherhead, pepperoni, Irma, metalhead, Honeycutt, zog, alopex, mona lisa, slash, rennet, zom, mondo gecko, chikara)

A Year Without - Part Two
Tumblr media
Warnings: Mention of alleged killings and rape
The back of your skull was throbbing as you slowly became aware of your surroundings. Your hands immobile outstretched and your feet anchored to the floor. By the soft tug of rope against your wrists you had been tied not shackled. A small silver lining to the shit show that was no doubt about to happen. The light was turned down low thankfully, you didn’t know if you could handle anything brighter then what the lights were set at right now.
Testing the strength of your bonds you found them cinch tighter as you struggled. If you worked them too much they would cut off the circulation to your hands and feet, not good. Your mind began to catch up with the rest of your body and the last moments you remembered were blurry at best. Karai had talked about her fun and a reunion. Then like a bolt of lightning it hit you, the green skin and enormous physique of the blurry mass converging on you. It couldn’t be Leonardo, he wouldn’t be helping the foot, wouldn’t be serving Karai. You had to have been hallucinating from the tranquilizer dart you were dosed with.
After what seemed like hours the lights in the room finally snapped on illuminating your prison. The walls were stark white, with one obvious large two way mirror near the door to your left.A hefty arm less grey upholstered chair sat in the far left corner of the room and a large metal table in the center, fucking cozy. The size of the room was rather large, maybe twenty feet by twenty feet and the smell reminded you of a hospital, sterile but sour.
“It’s rude to leave your guest waiting!” you hollered dryly to your captures eyeing the window with contempt. It was true, you had been sitting in this awful room for at least two hours unattended, let’s get this show on the road.
The sound of the handle turning gave way to your host as she sauntered into the space like she was the queen of fucking England. Her hips swung with gusto and her smile was honey sweet. No longer in her kunoichi garb Karai was dressed in dark sapphire skirt that hit just below her knees with a slit on the side that rode up nearly to her cunt. Her white quarter sleeve blouse was partially unbuttoned leaving her small yet perky breasts visible from the low V. The long black tresses of her hair were tied loosely up above her head while the black high heels that adorned her feet clicked sinfully on the cement floor as she made her way over to you. The cherry on top that completed her arrogant demeanor was a blue lollipop stuck playfully in her mouth and a large tablet in her right hand.
“Calm down my sweet, I wanted you fully awake for this next part.” Karai cooed stepping up to you her breasts pressing up against yours. Her breath was sweet from her treat and she leaned in close, “I have something I want you to watch.” Her wet sugary tongue darted out and took a quick lick of your cheek and jumped back as you tried to head butt the offending woman.
“Don’t you fucking touch me.”
“Tsk, tsk, what a dirty mouth you have. I have a gift for you Y/N, a gift of knowledge that only I can give you. Knowledge you’ve been searching for, for a year’s time.”
Your defiance slammed to a halt as Karai’s wicked smile grew to a terrifying level. Popping the treat make in her mouth her slender fingers drummed on the tablet as she leaned in again her lips brushing up against your ear. “Have you been searching for someone, someone special? Someone who went missing abruptly a year ago today?”
Your blood ran cold, she was talking about Leonardo. The foot has had Leo all this time. Anger bubbled quickly to the surface your limbs trembling as it consumed you. You were going to rip her fucking face off. “Where is he?! Where are you keeping Leonardo?!”
“How long did you look for him?” she ignored your question stepping back turning on the tablet. Her fingers flew over the smooth surface searching for something. “How far did you search, the island of Manhattan, New Jersey perhaps? Maine? Either way it wasn’t going to be far enough, after we subdued him, which took quite a few of my men I might add. God he is strong and talented, by the gods is he talented.” You didn’t like the dreamy look in her eyes. “We didn’t keep him here, oh no, we didn’t want you to find him, what fun would that have been? So, the first thing we did was sedate big bad Leonardo and tossed him on a plane to Japan. He was sent to a very special facility where we house some of our most exceptional doctors and people we have acquired over the years with special gifts, gifts of persuasion if you know what I mean? Let me tell you, he was a hard nut to crack. But we knew this from the start so a process had to be started and it began with sociological warfare when poor ol Leo came too.”
Karai flipped the tablet to show you what she had been searching for, a security tape and the main focal point was Leonardo. His battered green body was shackled to the wall covered in blood. You could see the damage they had done to him on the roof. Cuts and gouges littered his once lustrous green skin making your rage boil hotter.  His person was stripped of all his belongings except his boxer briefs leaving him unprotected and vulnerable. He was obviously sans his mask with a long deep cut that ran up the back of his skull. He struggled yanking at his metal restraints demanding to know where he was being held and to be released but he was going nowhere.
A man in a grey suit slowly approached the leader in blue and held out a picture. You watched Leo’s eyes widen in shock and shake his head vigorously, “No!” he bellowed. “You’re lying!”
“They’re all dead Leonardo. When they came to save you they were slaughtered by Karai’s men one by one. The orange one, Michelangelo I believe his name was, fell first, he was the easiest to kill, a dagger to the throat was his end. I heard he begged for his life before Karai stomped on his neck effectively finishing him off. The purple, Donatello, was second; a katana between his shell angled up through his ribs did him in. A painful way to go if you ask me drowning in his own blood. Oh how I would have loved to have gotten a hold of his brilliant mind for study. Raphael the red brute was the most difficult to kill, took nearly 20 men to get him to the ground where they slit his throat. You should have heard him gurgle and grunt as he struggled to take his last breath. Your father was the easiest to find once we hacked Donatello’s computer system. It gave us a map right to his location and was slaughtered right in his bed.”
You couldn’t be 100% sure of what the man in grey was showing Leonardo but you were pretty sure it was a photo shopped picture of his dead brothers and father. But you knew it was a lie; all three of his brothers including Splinter were alive and well no doubt oblivious to your disappearance. But the photo must have been convincing enough, even through the poor video feed you could see the tears well up in his blue eyes. You wanted to call out to him, to tell him not to listen but that would be stupid and useless,  just like you were feeling right now.
Leo shook his head angrily blinking away the tears the threatened to spill. “No, you couldn’t have. My brothers are well trained and able to defeat your inadequate soldiers. Always have and always will.”
The doctor smiled and flipped another photo forward and the look on Leo’s face made your heart wretch inside your chest. “Your girlfriend was next, of course not before the men had some fun with her. You know when she cums she made the most beautiful sounds, like an angel. She cried out for you of course, but you weren’t there to save her. What a hero you turned out to be, couldn’t save your brothers or your love. Her end was swift if that pleases you, you can tell by the angle of her neck, quick and painless yet effective. Now you’re alone in this facility with no family and no lover. No one to save you, no one who cares.”
Karai’s finger came up and paused the video with Leo mid scream, his face contorted in horror and fury in the last frame.
“Luckily we have a very good photo shop artist on hand that created several rather convincing death photos of all of you. It took a few days but as his body weakened from the lack of food and water he gave in to the plausible story. He was inconsolable for over a month hanging listless from his confines. We let that sink in before we started in on the physical torture.” Karai turned the tablet back around ignoring the horrified look on your face. “He cried out your name for several days after that. It was heart wrenching really, and I took pleasure in each agonizing syllable he cried out.” Her green eyes rose to meet yours and her free hand reached out wiping away the tears that were staining your cheeks.
“I’m going to kill you.” You whispered with venom uncaring that the wretched woman had her hands on you. At this point you didn’t care; you had already killed her three times in your head.
“Oh I would love to see you try my dear.” Karai giggled returning her attention back to the tablet. A few more finger swipes and she turned it back around pressing play once again. The date on the time stamp said it was a month after his abduction, his eyes hollow and uncaring still hanging from his shackles. You could tell he had lost weight, in mass and in muscle. They must not been feeding him much.
Three men came into view all holding tazer sticks, their smiles wild with amusement. The first touched the hot end to the exposed side of Leo’s body between his plastron and carapace but Leo only shifted in his shackles groaning softly. Angered by the lack of his response, the other two men followed suit going in tandem shocking different parts of his skin. This time Leo arched crying out in pain. Over and over they attacked him all at once, Leo’s howls of anguish echoing in the empty room.
You wished the video didn’t have sound; the unnatural bellow of his agony would haunt you for however long they allowed you to live. The sight of his body recoiling from the current made you sick to your stomach. He had been here for a year enduring this torture, day in and day out. You weren’t there to help him, none of you were. He suffered alone with these animals, these heartless demons.
Again Karai stopped the feed and dropped the tablet back to her side and chomped down on the lollipop in her mouth finishing it off quickly. “You get the idea right? We put him through hell and broke him; we broke the legendary Leonardo; the man with the plan, the untouchable mutant. He was ours to mold, to retrain as we sought fit. It took longer than we expected, he was strong willed but no one can resist the charm of Dr. Langston for long. But Leo does hold the record for withstanding his treatments the longest. Dr. Langston was impressed to say the least.” The kunoichi laughed swinging away from you to walk back over to the door and knock twice. “He’s an obedient foot soldier now, and my favorite if I might add. But I’ll let you be the judge of that.” As the last words fell from her cherry red lips the door opened slowly.
Out of the darkened doorway he came, each step he took was of power and arrogance. Gone was his usual wear, replaced with jet black pants and specially made foot wear. Wide black leather wraps encompassed his thick forearms traveling up to intertwine with his three fingered hands. His blue katanas given to him by his father were absent replaced by two loosely hung red twin katana tied to his hip. Each shoulder had metal plates over them stamped with the Foot’s emblem and to complete the sinister look a black mask was worn where the blue once laid.
“Leonardo please don’t be rude, please go greet our new guest.”
As he closed in you saw his once brilliant cerulean blue eyes dulled to a grayish blue, the life once aflame in his stare was gone. There was no honor in his gaze as he looked you over like a piece of meat. No empathy and certainly no love for you. What had they done to him?
The last video you were forced to endure Leo looked frail and broken but that look was long gone. His muscle mass had returned leaving him looking toned and threatening. With each move of his body the muscle flexed and pulsed under his scaled skin making your body start to ache. If you had seen him in any other circumstance you would have though he looked good, good enough to eat.
“Leo?” you called tentatively tugging slightly on your bonds. Would he remember you at all?
As he neared you could tell the change in his smell. The hint of tea and incense was long gone overpowered by the stench of death and steel. His dull eyes narrowed in on you getting too close for comfort. His hand reached up cupping your chin tilting your head to and fro examining your face before his lips parted gifting you with the first sweet sound of his voice in a year.
“What a pretty little toy you’ve got Karai. Is she one of the reasons I was summoned to this country?”
The sound of Karai’s heals echoed throughout the room as she crossed over to the both of you. Her hands ran seductively down the dense muscles in his arms and pressed her lips to the tattoo there.
“Yes my love, she is a gift to you from me. This sweet little creature stole the other three of your kind from our master brainwashing them. And if she knows what’s good for her, she will tell us where they hide. But first I think it would be prudent to play with your gift. After all what good is a toy if you can’t play with it?”
“What do you think we should do first?” Leo clipped sinisterly squeezing your chin painfully tight in his massive grasp.
Karai’s ivory hand snaked up and around his thick neck tilting his head towards hers, “This one will lie and tell you that you once loved her, but let’s show her who you really belong too.” Her fingers twirled around the tails of his black mask and Leo leaned into her, his mouth slanted enthusiastically over hers. She immediately opened her mouth giving his tongue access making a show of it leaving you helpless to watch the love of your life kiss another woman.

Shredder’s Little Light Chapter 5
A couple of months have gone by since the transformation and loss of Karai. Shredder has sent the henchmen to search for Karai day and night but with little to no success. As for Aurora, well, the little one had made a miraculous recovery from her previous injuries minus the fact that there was a small scar on her left cheek, which meant that she could run and play once again. Still, she really missed Karai and kept dreaming of the day that she would come back home and that the two could be reunited once again. So much so that every night before she went to bed, Aurora would look out her little window to see if Karai would come home but nothing would happen, she would end up falling asleep beside the window sill most nights but Aurora never gave up on hope and thought that someday, Karai would come back to her.
---
Aurora woke up one morning to find out that the lair was a lot colder than usual. She shivered as she walked down the hall to the kitchen to eat the breakfast that Tiger Claw had prepared for her which in this case was a bowl of piping hot oatmeal; a treat that the giant cat enjoyed every winter as a boy.
The little one yawned and rubbed her eye with one arm but something white by the window caught her eye and she perked up. Aurora ran to the arm chair, climbed up, and wiped the window to reveal the city covered in white. Her chartreuse eyes glowed with wonder.
"Tigger, look!" Aurora said pointing to the window, "What's awwl dat white d'uff?"
Tiger Claw looked out the window and saw the winter wonderland outside, "Why, it's snow."
 "S'ow?" Aurora asked.
"Yes," Tiger Claw replied, "Winter has come."
Aurora's eyes glistened in amazement. Birds were chirping, people were dressed in layers, and children were throwing snowballs at each other or skating on the pond in the park. It all looked like fun and Aurora wanted to join in as well.
Tiger Claw could see the excitement in the girl's eyes and said, "I take it that you want to out and play in the snow don't you?"
"Uh-huh! I wan'go in the s'now!" Aurora squealed, "I wan' 'kate an fwow 'nowbawls an make a s'ow man an go swedding!"
Tiger Claw chuckled and gently shook his head as the little one kept babbling on and on before replying, "Alright, alright. We have to go out anyways and I'll find you a small spot for you to play in the snow…. After you have your breakfast."
"OK Tigger!" Aurora said while beaming, got down from the armchair, and ran off to the kitchen.
---
"IF AWWL DA WAINDWOPS WEW WEMO' D'OPS AN GUMD'OPS
OH, WHUDDA RAIN DAT WOUWLD BE!
D'ANDING OUWTDIDE WIF MY MOWF OWPEN WIDE
AH AH-AH AH AH-AH AH AH-AH AH
IF AWWL DA WAINDWOPS WEW WEMO' D'OPS AN GUMD'OPS
OH, WHUDDA RAIN DAT WOUWLD BE!"
Xever sulked as he walked across the rooftops with Bradford and Tiger Claw as Aurora walked behind them, decked out in her winter gear, catching snowflakes with her tongue and singing a god-obnoxious Barney song… for the fifth consecutive time in a row.
"You have to make her stop…" Xever groaned, "I can't take it anymore!"
"I've worked with people that didn't complain this much," Bradford snapped at the fish.
"She won't shut up and she's been singing that tune, horribly I might add, for the past thirty minutes we've been up here!" Xever replied, "And Tiger Claw, I thought master Shredder wanted the little menina out of his way after she got here and the whole "I blame you for the loss of Karai" thing".
"Last time I checked, I do not trust Baxter with Aurora and besides she wanted to come out and enjoy the snow." Tiger Claw stated, "She will be under the watch of the Foot Bots while we go with the Shredder to prepare for the invasion."
"As long as I don't have to hear the kid squawking like parrot for the rest of the day, I'm down for it." Xever said, massaging his temples as Aurora began to sing a sixth verse much to the mutant fishes dismay.
A few blocks later, the three mutants arrived at the spot where a wall of Foot Bots was created under a tree near the park. Tiger Claw placed Aurora down on a spot under the tree near a fresh pile of snow where the little immediately started making a snowball.
Xever nudged Bradford and whispered, "Bradford now, before she notices we're gone."
The fish was about to sneak away while grasping onto the skeleton dog's hand when,
 SPLAT!
Xever glared at Aurora who was giggling at the sight of the fish covered in snow.
 "Ey! Watch it you little-"
 SPLAT!
Aurora hit Xever with another snowball making Bradford burst into a fit of hysterics.
Xever started, "Would you…" Aurora threw another snowball at Xever, "...stop throwing…" Aurora threw another snowball at Xever," ...snowballs?!" Aurora paused and threw another snowball at Xever
The fish growled and wiped the snow, his face growing more red than dark magenta.
"Alright, that's it!" Xever exclaimed while gathering some snow in his hands to form a snowball, "Come here you little-"
Aurora seeing the fish with a snowball in his hands and thinking it was a game, ran off to the other side of the tree, Xever trailing behind her.
Back at the spot, Bradford was laughing so much that he fell onto the pavement and tears of joy streamed down his face.
The chase lasted for a couple of minutes, the two throwing snowballs at one another but missed more times than they could count.
At the last possible second, when Xever had Aurora cornered near the trunk of the tree, he threw the snowball over the fence of Foot Bots and landed with a splat….all over the back of Tiger Claw's neck. The giant cat turned around with a glare and when Xever pointed to Aurora, the giant cat (who already knew it was Xever who threw the snowball at him) and with a giant pile of snow in his paws, threw the snow at Xever causing him to be completely buried.
Aurora and Bradford started laughing when Xever was helplessly trying to get himself out of the pile of snow.
"Alright, no more fooling around," Tiger Claw said, "We should be off. We'll be back soon Aurora."
Aurora looked up and saw the mutants leaving.
"Bye Tigger!" Aurora called with a little wave before she ran off, throwing snow in the air and letting its remains fall down on her raven hair while the snowflakes tickled her face and tip of her nose.
Aurora was having a fun throwing snow all around, chasing and feeding the birds, sliding down giant hills on her inflatable sled, and making little angles in snow. So much so, that she didn’t even notice that a strange race of alien robots were wreaking havoc across the city causing mass destruction everywhere but what she did notice were three giant shadows looming over her while Aurora was making her fourth snow angel.
The little one popped her eyes open to find three gentlemen standing over her. One was a big and buff, the other was skinny and two feet inches smaller than the buffed man, and the last one had a funny looking mustache. All three men had strange looking dragon tattoos on their bodies, raven black hair, and brown eyes.
"Hey there little miss," the skinny man greeted in his fake nice voice, "Whatcha doing out here durin' this whole freak show, hm?"
Aurora got up and brushed the snow off of her red coat and stared at the men, "Umm, Tigger said I's not suppos'ta talk to drangers."
"But we ain't strangers, we're volunteers," the skinny man replied, "The police told us to come and get ya so that you wouldn't get caught up in this hell hole."
 Aurora was confused.
She turned around and not only noticed that the Foot Bots who were instructed to watch over her disappeared but saw a bunch of alien robots invading and shooting their blasters at innocent by standers who ran away in fear, some people were turned into pink screeching creatures with crazy eyes and tentacle arms, small fires popped up here and there, the EPF were trying to shoot down these creatures while hunting for survivors, and a giant alien robot containing a weapon that shot out the same substance that mutated Karai months ago at its targets.
Aurora's eyes went wide and she turned back to the three men.
"W-What's happening?!" Aurora asked, fear growing in her voice. "W-Where's Tigger?"
"Oh, he'll come.." the buff man said. He turned to his partners and ordered, "…Grab her."
The mustached goon picked up Aurora by the back of her coat with a tight grasp while the skinny goon tied her up with rope. The two laughed as Aurora struggled and screamed to get out of their grasp.
"HEY! LET GO OF ME! LET GO OF ME!" Aurora yelled, "I'WWL TELL TIGGER AN MY DADDY!!"
"Shut it kid! You're comin' with us." The buff goon said, placing little Aurora over her shoulder, "C'mon boys, let's get outta here before we get mutated."
The three goons laughed as they rushed away from the invasion while Aurora kicked and screamed the whole way.
---
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Aurora's constant screams echoed throughout the factory.
The dragons tormented her to no end since they arrived. After dropping her to the ground, very hard I might add, they started to beat her to a pulp, maybe even worse than what the Shredder has given to her since the loss of Karai.
This left the little one covered in bruises, blood, and red puffy eyes from all the crying she did whist the beating was going on.
After the beatings, the skinny goon tied Aurora up by the ankle with rope, and stripped her of her winter gear, only leaving her with her orange top and dark magenta bottom dress and barefoot. The little one shivered from the harsh cold. The three goons loomed over her.
"Hope you enjoy your stay at casa del dragon," the mustached goon smirked causing the other dragons to laugh and head out the door.
"No! Wait! Come back!!!" Aurora screamed, she tried to run after them but the rope held her back, causing her to fall flat on her face, "No, no go 'way!!!!" she sniffled and wiped away her tears, "….No weave me…"
Aurora sat on the cold damp floor while hugging her knees. She wished either Karai or Tiger Claw would show up to save her, but as the minutes passed on and on and as the invasion died down leaving only the giant alien robot to takeover, there was nothing. With nothing else to do, little Aurora began to cry and hide her face in her knees.
---
Aurora's sobs continued once the dragons returned.
They started whacking her in the gut endlessly while taunting and laughing as if it were some joke. The little one held her stomach in pain as she trembled. She wanted to run away but she couldn’t and the rope around her ankle was starting to get itchy and a large red rash was starting to form.
Aurora grew angry, and without warning, she got up with tears streaming down her face, her chest puffed out, and her face red with anger. She kicked the buff goon in the leg (HARD) causing him to yelp in pain. He glared at Aurora who kept the same angry facial expression on her face.
"Aww," the skinny goon crooned, "Is the ickle widdle girl gonna cwy?" the mustached goon and the buff goon began to laugh. "Whatcha gonna do now, huh?" he continued, "You gonna cwy? C'mon, cry little pumpkin muffin cry."
Aurora opened her mouth to scream, only this time, no scream came out.
What came out of Aurora's mouth was a booming roar.
 "Huh?"
 WHACK!
A giant paw swiped at the dragons as the giant figure of Tiger Claw stepped out of the shadows, charging at them with great force and knocks the goons about until they are cringing under him.
Bradford and Xever were untying Aurora during the whole fight and as for Aurora… well, she was
thunderstruck. She had no idea that her beloved Tigger could fight like that.
The purple dragons were begging for mercy while trying to get out of the mutant cat's grasp.
"SILENCE!" Tiger Claw yelled with a half-booming roar.
"OKOKOKOK, we're gonna shut up right now," the buff goon said with a nervous chuckle.
"Calm down," the mustached goon said, "We're really sorry."
"If you ever come near the youngest daughter of the Shredder again…" Tiger Claw warned with a growl.
 The dragons were shocked.
The little freak was Shredder's daughter?
"Oh this is…this is his girl?!" the buff goon said.
"Oh, his kid?" the mustached goon said over his partner.
"Did you know that Sid?" the mustached goon asked.
"No... me? I-I-I didn't know it. No. Did you Tsoi?" Sid asked the mustached good.
"No, of course not!" Tsoi replied.
Then, both dragons turned to the skinny goon and asked at the same time, "…Fong?"
 Fong nodded stupidly in response.
Tiger Claw let out another booming roar.
The dragons gulped and Sid said, "….um…Toodles!"
Just like that, all three goons started running for their lives.
Tiger Claw nodded and got back on two feet.
"TIGGER!!" Aurora squealed while crying, hugging the giant tiger who immediately wrapped his giant arms around the little one and picked her up.
"It's going to be alright Aurora," Tiger Claw said as the little one kept babbling on and on about what happened to her and what she saw in terms of the invasion and how scared she was while crying into his chest. The giant tiger listened with keen ears as the three mutants returned back to the lair while the snow began to fall faster and harder.
---
One hot bath, some lukewarm hot cocoa, and five episodes of Dragon Tales later, Aurora was fast asleep on the couch as the TV played, her favorite blanket wrapped around her, her right thumb in mouth, dressed in a Snow White night gown, and of course, Barley by her side.
Tiger Claw smiled at the girl sleeping peacefully and carefully cradled her close to him and was about to take her to her room when he had a better idea. He walked down to his own room and gently laid Aurora down on his own bed.
And that night, as tiger and cub slept together, with her beloved Tigger’s arms wrapped around her in his strong, protective embrace, Aurora knew that she didn’t have to be scared of her father and any one else that would try to hurt her because she now knew, unlike the Shredder, that the giant tiger would always be there by her side.
 Even during an alien invasion.

SAINW HEADCANONS: APRIL
Tumblr media
They were married for five years. April was pregnant with her first child, and the pair were ecstatic. Even as the world became crueler and harsher, the pair found their light within each other and their unborn child.
Donatello left. That hurt her beyond words could ever describe. They looked for days, weeks and months. There was nothing, no sign. It was like her best friend vanished.
Then Casey was gone.
She found his body, covering Splinter's. He had been shot in the chest three times by the purple dragons, but the slash at his throat could have only be done by one: karai.
April didn't think she was going to survive this. She felt her heart shatter in a way that was irreversible. Her love, her light gone.
And yet, she was not alone.
April, with Mikey, Rapy, Leo and Angel started a resistance. They fought back against Shredder's men and had created safe houses for men, women and children.
The children had a taken to the large turtles, and Leonardo became the face of the resistance, a man who had fought for his survival his whole life- and won.
The battles became harder, more and more people were lost.
Leonardo snapped.
Years of pressure of leading snapped and his anxiety took control. He left the country with nothing but a note.
With each passing day, April feared for the birth of her child, possibly the last remaining of the Jones bloodline.
Raph got aggressive and suffered from PTSD. He would loose control at any given moment and have violent tendencies. His pain became too much.
He slapped April so hard she flew into the back wall.
When the attack finished, Raph became aware of what he had done.
He left, leaving April, Mikey and Angel to carry on the resistance on their own.
A few months later April had the baby. A beautiful little girl with jet black hair and bright green eyes, little freckles on her nose. A perfect mix of her mother and father.
The baby's name was hope.
Hope grew up in this cold and dark world. She was meant to help lead humanity back to safety, back to love and the light. They were to rebuild the world to it's former glory. That's what hope believed.
Her mother just prayed to get on, day by day.
The attack came. Shredder's men were merciless and slaughtered everyone in their path.
Including April's teenage daughter.
She lost sight of Mikey for a split second and when she found him next, hours later, he was a broken man.
That night, April and Mikey held onto each other and cried.
April had lost her light twice now. She thought she would break, that the darkness would swallow her whole.
Slowly, over time, she began to rebuild the resistance....and herself.
Then came the return of none other than donatello.
It was like a breath of fresh air, a time of when the world was not so corrupt and broken. When she was still alive.
When Casey was alive.
She knew she had to help them out no matter the consequence.
She got news later that night, of the fate of her dear friends.
She was returned a piece of fabric of each of their masks, and a smooth marble found on the floor.
April's eyes went wide with tears. She had given that marble to her daughter as a good luck charm when Hope was six years old.
Mikey had held onto it.....for all that time....
She could almost see his smiling face calling to her....
"Well someone had to keep it safe."
After years of grief, of pain, of suffering, of losing her faith, April finally broke.

a solo act is good, too.
a Humanverse general TMNT universe fic, mostly using 2012 versions and borrowing from IDW here and there. i’ve always headcanoned 2012 Mikey as an aro/ace, so on the free day of the lgbtmntweek i decided to finally write a fic up for the hc.
(not @ them bc of a slight NSFW situation involved. nothing graphic,  it barely lasts more than five sentences.)
“So Mikey, when’d you and Angel start dating?”
Mikey, age nine and a half, hits pause on his current model building project to give a blank stare to his friend across the table. Mondo keeps staring back, expectant.
“What??” Mikey asks.
“Everyone’s saying you’re girlfriend and boyfriend!” Mondo exclaims. He shoves aside his own Lego to lean forwards, whispering fervently, “You know girls have cooties, right?”
“Uh, yeah? Duh,” Mikey says, then remembers that his cousin Karai and friend April will beat him up for saying that, and diverts the subject. “But we’re not dating! Angel just likes Bionicle, that’s all. She’s fun, and we live really close.”
“Girls don’t like Bionicle,” Mondo says. “My sister hates it. She’s gotta be faking it so you guys can date.”
Mikey feels confused. He thought they were just friends who liked the same toys and TV show. And Angel never said so, so they aren’t dating. “But we’re not-!”
“You totally are!”
“Are not!”
“Are too!”
“Boys, settle down,” A passing TA says, and both boys quiet down.
There’s a moment of silence, and Mondo whispers, “Totally dating.”
And Mikey sticks out his tongue, not listening to another word his friend says all through free time. He’ll just ask Angel later, when they walk home from school together.
“My friends were saying the same thing, actually,” Angel says later, when they’re weaving through the streets back to their shared neighborhood.
Mikey scrunches his nose. “What? Why?”
Angel shrugs, reaching up and twisting one of her long dark strands around her finger. “They said we hang out a lot, so we gotta be dating.”
“That’s dumb. Donnie and April hang out a lot and they’re not dating.”
“I said that too, but everyone else thinks they’re dating anyways.”
Mikey groans. “So dumb.”
Angel shrugs again. “It’s not super dumb. I think dating sounds kinda fun.”
“Ew, no.”
“What, you wouldn’t date me?”
“You’re my friend.”
“So?”
“Friends don’t date, they do- friend stuff!”
“My big brother says that dating starts with friendship, though.”
Mikey thinks about that for a moment. “Really? People on TV just kiss a bunch, though.”
“Keno doesn’t kiss his girlfriend too much, they mostly just sit around and talk a lot,” Angel explains. “Or play music in his room, sometimes. So kinda what we do, but I guess big kid stuff instead.”
“So… are we dating, then?” Mikey asks tentatively.
Angel looks at him, contemplative as she examines Mikey’s baggy orange shirt, his cargo shorts, and wildly tangled brown hair. “Maybe? Do you wanna be dating?”
“Uh, we’d still do friend stuff, right?” Mikey doesn’t think kissing part sounds too bad. But only if it’s in little amounts.
“Well duh, we gotta finish Bionicle, right?”
“Oh totally.”
They keep walking for a minute, and Mikey remembers something that people who date are supposed to do. “I think we hold hands now.”
“Oh, right.”
Angel sticks out her hand, and Mikey takes it. They keep walking, go to his house where his brothers are already hanging around in, and they watch Bionicle season 2’s fifth episode together.
They end up kissing possibly three times over the course of the rest of the week, barely pecks on the lips, before Angel says they should probably break up.
“There’s no spark,” She says very seriously. “It’s not you, Mikey, it’s the spark.”
Mikey is hurt for about two seconds, and then shrugs. He’d only really been doing it because people said he’s supposed to. “Okay. You still wanna sleep over?”
It makes a lot more sense, around fourteen, why Angel hadn’t felt any spark for the brief relationship or Mikey. Mostly having to do with her dyeing her hair purple, getting a pink shaded button for her bag, and going steady with Alopex from her apartment building. Mikey isn’t really surprised- Karai had had the same kind of look Angel grew into at the exact same age, and his cousin had been dating girls since she figured out how to bleach her hair.
Mikey, by fourteen, has had exactly one relationship, three first kisses, and lacks motivation to seek out another situation to build those counts. He’s moved on from his Bioncle years- though he keeps some toys, for the sake of nostalgia- and dived headfirst into the Marvel comic’s universe.
The school library has an excellent selection, and at the beginning of his fourteenth year he meets a girl buried up to her ears in that section. Renet and Mikey hit it off immediately, swapping knowledge and recommendations and favorites and strong opinions about individual universes.
“Who’s your friend?” Leo asks after one evening, when Mikey had spent about an hour and a half debating heatedly on the phone. Guardians of the Galaxy verses the Avengers- who did more on the grand scale of things for the earth and its wellbeing? Mikey voted the Guardians, but Renet had fought back valiantly that ground troops frequently made more differences than long-range artillery support.
“Renet! She just moved here like, three weeks ago or something,” Mikey says, hanging up the phone. The debate would have to be continued at school, next lunchtime. He turns to his sixteen year old brother, grinning. “Can she come over for dinner sometime? You guys’ll love her, I swear.”
“Her?” Raph asks loudly from the living room. “Holy shit, did you finally get a girlfriend?”
Mikey frowns. “Uh. No? She’s just my comics buddy.”
“Who you’re inviting for dinner,” Leo says pointedly. “Who you just spent like, two whole hours talking to, instead of texting.”
“Hey Donnie, Mike’s finally got a crush on someone!” Raph hollers. Crashing follows and Donnie skids down the steps of their second story in all his fifteen year old lanky glory. He nearly wipes out on the pile of laundry by the steps.
“Did we get blackmail yet?” Donnie asks immediately, hardly taking the time to steady himself.
“Working on it,” Leo replies.
Mikey slaps his hands over his eyes, groaning. “Guyyys! Shut up! That’s not how this is! She’s just- really cool, okay? And knows about superhero shit!”
He hears his older brothers make disbelieving sounds, and Mikey ignores them all. Maybe he deserves a little teasing- he’d done so to all of them about their crushes- but it’s! Not! Like that!
And then the first school dance of the year rolls around, and Mikey is faced yet again by social pressure to be dating someone. He has limited options for a dance date: his cousin, who scares everyone and is probably too busy to come. His best friend, who has two dates already (Mikey doesn’t know how Mondo managed that or how he’s going to keep that a secret from both dates, but he promises his friend the funeral will be a nice one). His other best friend, but LH is twenty-something and would really scare everybody, even though he’s just a big softie who likes leather too much. None of those dates are acceptable, in hindsight.
Or there’s Renet.
Mikey wants to go to the dance, because dancing is great and he loves social events in general, so he agonizes a bit and finally asks Renet to go with him.
She turns bright pink when he does, and fumbles her hold on issue four of Wolverine and the X-men. “O-oh, Mikey. I didn’t know you, um, felt that way about me?”
Mikey rushes to abolish that idea. “No! I mean- I like you, but not like that! It’s just a stupid dance, okay? I just want to dress up nice and go dancing, I swear.”
Renet sighs in relief. “Okay, good. I’m not really supposed to date until I’m older anyways. I’m glad we don’t have to have such a totally uncomfortable convo.”
Mikey slumps in his chair, huffing. “You and me both. So will you?”
“Be your date?”
“Yeah.”
“Sure! I love dances, they’re totally bodacious,” Renet giggles, and Mikey grins in return. His friend’s outdated slang has to be one of his favorite things about her. He kind of wonders why isn’t crushing on her- Renet is curvy and cute and knows a ton about comics- but she’s just his friend.
Mikey puts that thought aside, and asks Renet what the hell a corsage is.
When the night rolls around, she shows up in a dress and hijab that’s color coordinated and he puts on actual dress pants for once. He wears his favorite flannel and a bowtie borrowed off Donnie- and grins and bears it as his father, brothers, and their friends all snap pictures of him and Renet.
“You two are so cute,” April comments, taking a picture as Mikey sticks his tongue out at her.
“I hate all of you,” He grouches, but smiles again so Renet’s parents will have good photos. At least he gets to have revenge, snatching up a camera and getting all the angles possible of Leo, Donnie, April, Casey, and Raph in their outfits. The five of them are going stag together- for reasons Mikey is Highly Suspicious of, regarding Donnie, Casey, April, and Leo in particular- and he’s only a little mad they didn’t tell him going stag was an option.
The dance itself goes great- good music, good mood, mediocre refreshments and minimal buzzkill from teachers supervising. Mikey sees and meets his family throughout the evening, throwing down on the dancefloor with Renet and their classmates. He sees Leo making his Nervous But Trying Not To Be face as he talks to a couple of his classmates, mostly towards one Asian guy with dyed white hair. Mikey also sees Raph drifting from the group with his friends and twin, towards the punch table and snacks, which leaves Donnie, Casey, and April shimmying in a circle and looking really awkward, and why can’t they just figure themselves out already, jeeze.
Mikey focuses mostly on twirling Renet around, and having fun with that. Mondo, who is soaked in punch from his dates dumping him and going off together, gives Mikey meaningful looks directed towards Renet.
Mikey ignores his friend and highly awkward family members, and just enjoys dancing with his comics buddy. Renet, at the end of the night, is flushed and grinning and Mikey really does wonder why he doesn’t feel the need to kiss her. She is awfully cute.
When the drop her off at home, all they say to each other is a reminder that comic swap is this Thursday and to remember to bring the ones they’d borrow from one another. And then Renet leaves, shutting the door and shutting Mikey inside a van with his stupid nosy family.
“So,” Leo says, and Mikey doesn’t have to look towards the driver seat to hear that grin.
“You two crazy kids kiss tonight?” Casey finishes, poking the back of Mikey’s head. Mikey swats the hand and tells them all to piss off. His family does not in fact piss off and pokes for juicy details for at least another few blocks.
There’s no ‘juicy details’ to tell, even after he and Renet meet up the rest of the week and keep meeting up. They swap comics and have debates and just hang out, still just friends and unchanged from the dance date. Mikey wonders on and off why he doesn’t have a crush on Renet- or anyone, really- but brushes it off in favor of the new Superior Ironman series coming out soon.
It stays that way, through years fifteen and sixteen- while Leo finally works up the courage to admit out loud he likes guys and ask Usagi out, Donnie and Casey and April keep making circles around each other and the elephant in the room, and Raph starts making eyes at a cadet in training he’s met at the gym. Even Renet starts going steady with a boy her family approves of, and she approves of even more so, and Mondo goes through about five more relationships, all ending in various states of chaotic mutuality.
Mikey watches his family and friends all be in love or at least interested in other people, and Mikey just keeps feeling more interested in his comics and skating.
“Maybe you’re gay, like me,” Angel suggests at one point, while they’re sitting at her kitchen table and cramming for a bio test.
“I dunno, maybe?” Mikey answers, and doesn’t feel against dating a guy, but feels about as enthused as he would dating a girl. Or anyone in between, honestly.
“You already tried girls, give some guys a shot. More for me.”
“You thinking of cheating on Alo?”
Angel flicks an eraser at Mikey. It lodges in his coils and he doesn’t even bother getting it out.
“Hell no, and if you say anything like that to her I’ll bust your kneecaps.”
“Noted.”
Mikey actually gives it a shot, dating guys. Dating in general. Keno introduces Mikey to a delivery boy his age at a local pizzeria, and Woody’s not bad to hang out with. He’s got curly hair to Mikey’s coily, freckles except in red, and skates most weekends. And he likes comics, albeit indie ones, and they find a bit of common ground by breaking in each other for new fields of reading.
It goes great, chaste kisses and holding hands and having coffee dates to skate parks- up until Woody asks to take it a step further. And Mikey doesn’t… want to.
“Is it your first time or something?” His boyfriend asks, and Mikey nods. “Then we’ll… wait, I guess. Until you’re comfortable.”
“Thanks,” Mikey says, and tries to not feel guilty for not being ready right now. He knows for a fact Mondo lost his virginity ages ago, described in detail that Mikey had to make his friend shut up about, that Angel lost hers a while ago, told in much less detail, and that most of their classmates have. He also knows that his brothers had at least tried things at this point, and Mikey hasn’t.
He feels a little left behind and frustrated about it.
He tells his buddy, Linnorm Hirutarum, named after a dragon because his parents had been awesome, all about it as LH tends to the vegetable patch behind his tiny house. Mikey flops all over the grass by it, grumbling and sighing, and snitching lettuce when he pretends LH isn’t looking.
“If you are not ready, then you are not ready,” LH says sensibly in his usual growling tone. Which is default for him and basically his version of a warm-fuzzy tone anyways.
“But I should be!” Mikey exclaims. “Everyone else was. Is. Augh.”
“Have you talked about this with Woody?”
“I… I don’t want him thinking it’s about him. Because it’s not! It’s just stupid whatever stuff for me and I need to get over it.”
LH’s shadow falls over him, and Mikey waits for his huge friend to gently lower himself onto the grass. LH’s wide scars move with him as he does, displayed by a sleeveless shirt only in the safety of the hedge protected backyard. His hand comes down on Mikey’s veritable afro, and pats Mikey’s head as he keeps talking.
“I know people who have made rash decisions about these sorts of things,” LH says seriously. “If you are not ready, then do not force yourself to. Respect your own boundaries.”
Mikey sighs, but agrees to respect himself. It’s easy to agree in that moment, with only LH’s non-judgemental presence near him, but it’s harder when he’s with Woody again and trying to explain himself without being rude.
He gives it a try, the whole sex thing. LH said to respect his boundaries, but Mikey thinks he can do it if he just figures out how it goes. Everyone else likes it, so shouldn’t he?
They talk about it, set up a date, and Mikey gets ready to experience the… experience.
It ends up being an unexciting, uncomfortable half hour of sloppy kisses and bumping parts. Mikey tries his best, but can’t figure out why anyone works so hard to experience this.
When it’s all over, Mikey hasn’t felt anything remotely close to pleasure, and actually feels a little over touched. Woody is a bit flushed, breathing fast by Mikey’s ear, but doesn’t seem super pleased either.
“…you didn’t enjoy it, did you?” He asks.
Mikey covers his eyes, and sighs. “No. Sorry.”
“Yeah, I thought you didn’t. Sorry, Mikey.”
“It’s not your fault,” Mikey says, taking his arms away and staring at the ceiling of Woody’s room. “I’m pretty sure this one’s all on me.”
They sit in stiff silence for a moment, before Woody asks if Mikey wants to stay for dinner. Mikey declines as gracefully as he can, and goes home instead. Slogging upstairs and heading into the shower to wash off.
He’s pretty sure he shouldn’t feel so much better, alone in his bedroom and freshly cleaned of the lingering smell of body fluids. His brothers find him there later, in a bathrobe and watching the original Twin Peaks on his laptop, and they ask him why he washed so early.
Mikey debates for a moment, and decides they’ll find out somehow anyways. “I had sex.” He’s unsurprised to hear Leo choke on his own spit, and Raph and Donnie make twin sounds of shock and disbelief. “Yup. Popped the cherry but good. You guys can stop teasing me about it, now.”
Does he sound a little bitter? Mikey thinks he does. From the way his brothers hover awkwardly in the doorway, they heard the bitterness, too.
“…you okay, Mikey?” Leo asks, genuinely concerned.
Mikey shrugs. “I’m fine. It just went awful, that’s all.”
Raph pats Leo on the shoulder, simultaneous with Donnie, as they both silently nominate the eldest to deal with the situation. Leo shoots them both an abandoned look, but steps into Mikey’s room to come sit on his bed. Mikey doesn’t pause his video, using it as a distraction from his prickling shame.
Leo watches him for a moment, before asking, “You used protection, right?” and Mikey groans, covering his face.
“It wasn’t that kind of sex, okay?”
“Oh. Um. Good?”
“Smooth,” Raph comments from the doorway, audibly swatted at by Donnie.
“Anyways,” Leo recovers. “You were both… you talked about it beforehand, right? You both wanted it?”
“Yeah,” Mikey says miserably into his sleeve.
“…you know first times are always bad, right, Mikey? It takes- um- practice-”
“It wasn’t because of that, Leo. You can stop.”
“Thank you,” Leo says gratefully. Donnie and Raph snicker from the doorway. “So… what was it because?”
“I can’t believe this is a conversation we’re having.”
“Shh!”
“If it’s somethin’ that kid did-”
“Raph we talked about that contingency already: only if Mikey says so-”
“It wasn’t Woody,” Mikey says, before death threats start getting thrown around. “It was me, okay? I made it suck.” He takes his arms off his face, shooting a look at all three of his siblings. “And before you say it- no it wasn’t just because it was my first time. It sucked ‘cause I suck and I couldn’t figure out how to enjoy sex, okay?”
A beat of silence, all three of his brothers staring at him, and then Leo breaks the lull.
“Mikey… you don’t ‘figure out’ how to enjoy sex. You just- enjoy it. It happens naturally.”
Mikey’s cheeks burn and he scowls. “Well apparently not with me.”
“Maybe you just haven’t met the right person yet?” Raph suggests. “I mean, you know me and how things go with that.”
Mikey shakes his head. “I kinda doubt it; I’ve tried to get crushes on like, ten different kids at school and nada. Zip.”
Donnie tilts his head, long hair following the movement. “Maybe when you’re older you’ll be more interested?”
Mikey sighs. “I don’t know. Maybe. I hope so. But it’s been like- never a thing, okay? I should’ve had feelings or whatever at some point, at least once, right?”
A collective “uhhhh” from his brothers and Mikey turns over into his pillow to suffocate himself. Leo pats his back comfortingly, saying Mikey should just give himself more time, keep an open mind to chances in the future- and Mikey makes a wordless complaining sound into his pillow for it.
He and Woody break it off a few weeks later. His friend tried, and Mikey recognizes that, but Woody needs a relationship that involves stuff Mikey just… can’t figure out how to give. He tries only two more times before they just call it quits. It’s not working, and trying to make it work is just frustrating for them both.
They keep being friends afterwards, and that’s actually better in the long run. It’s everything Mikey really wanted out of the relationship anyways, so he doesn’t feel like he’s lost anything.
He feels shitty for not being able to put out like he wanted to, though. And that drives him nuts for the rest of the year, until he’s seventeen and graduating finally, and gearing up to follow his siblings to local universities. Donnie graduated ages ago, but stayed local because of their family and he, April, and Casey’s really obvious secret relationship. Casey is in mechanics, and April in general sciences; Donnie is in both and more, because he’s insane. Leo is already a few years into his share of university courses, a hopeful nurse in the future, and Raph is neck deep in his art courses.
Mikey doesn’t know what he’s going to go for, and signs up for a random collection of electives to start with. Social sciences and psychology looks sort of fun, and so do dance courses. But those are months away, and before then is summer, family time, and June’s Pride Parade.
They’ve gone a couple times, when everyone has the day off from work or classes, and this year Mikey doesn’t have a shift at his outreach program scheduled on the parade’s date. So he, his family and friends, all end up watching the parade go by in a loosely connected group.
The standard drag queens, sponsor programs, and generally proud and loud folks roll by, music and cheer its usual levels of boisterousness. Mikey snags a couple plastic necklaces that are being given out, and just enjoys hanging out with his family. He waves to Angel and Alopex as they march by, part of the local lesbian representatives, watching the familiar pink and red flags flutter as they do, but pauses as the next group follows them.
It’s just a handful of people, walking with grey, white, purple, and black flags, mixed with ones very similar but instead of purple, they have green. There’s some polite clapping as they go past, and Mikey nudges Donnie beside him. “Hey, Donnie, what’re those flags for?”
“I… don’t actually know?” His phone is out within seconds, reflexes of a true technology addict. “Let’s see what our almighty lord and savior google has to say about it.” Mikey pushes close, reading as much as he can as Donnie flicks through the search faster than he can take it. “They’re- huh. They’re for ‘asexuality’ and... ‘aromantics’? I don’t even know what the second one is, and I’ve never heard about that first one being applied to anything other than asexual reproduction.”
“More explanation, please?” Mikey asks impatiently.
“It’s says- don’t push, I’m trying to scroll- it says it’s for individuals with little or no sexual drive, or little to no interest in romance. Actually that sounds contradictive, why are they listed together…”
Mikey’s eyebrows shoot up. “Really?”
“Well, that’s a gross oversimplification of everything here. There’s a spectrum for it, and apparently different categories? This is actually pretty interesting. I wonder why I’ve never read about it before.”
Mikey snags the phone from his brother, scrolling back to the top and rereading the first few paragraphs. He ignores Donnie’s grabby hands and keeps reading, feeling a twisty hopeful emotion build in his chest.
“Here,” He says, tossing the phone back at his brother. “hold my spot.” And he takes off at a jog to catch up with the parade members. They’re not too far ahead, and Mikey just has to avoid slipping on stray necklaces as he runs over to them.
“Hey- hey!” He shouts, catching up with the first person he can. The woman turns questioningly towards him, and Mikey blurts, “When did you- did you first know?”
She blinks at him, adjusting her hold on the big flag pole on her shoulder. “Excuse me?”
“That you’re asexual,” Mikey asks, heart tempo speeding up. “How’d you know?”
She stares at him a second longer, and then grins. “Around the time I had my first girlfriend, and I looked back at the times with my other partners and figured out I was always more interested in watching the movie than I was in making out.”
Mikey grins back. “Yo- same hat!”
“Oh yeah?”
“Totally! My ex always wanted to make out during Luke Cage and I was always like- dude no there’s good stuff happening. That’s. Wow.” Mikey feels a little breathless. “So that’s what it is? It’s not like- just a me thing?”
He barely hears the crowd around them, his focus tunneled around the conversation and the woman holding the flag. Mikey waits for a denial or an okay, a little scared while he’s so excited.
The woman smiles kindly. “No, that’s not just a you thing. We’re not a huge community, but there’s aces out there. Do you think you’re one of us?”
“I don’t know, I’m- I’m hoping so?” Mikey’s heart does a little twist. “I mean. My bro just pulled up the google explanation, and it sounds really, really. Um. Like me?”
The woman reaches up to the front of her jean jacket, and reaches into a pocket. When she pulls out her hand, she holds something out to Mikey.
“Look into it a little more, but if you think asexuality fits you- then welcome to the club, kid.”
Mikey takes the little button, grinning ear to ear. He thinks he’s shaking he’s so ecstatic. “Hey, would it be cool if I hugged you right now? I think you just solved like half my life problems.”
The woman laughs, and holds her arm out. It’s an awkward hug, because they’re both still walking and she’s carrying a flag, but Mikey appreciates it wholly.
When he comes back to his family, he’s got a new pin stuck to his shirt and an elated, hopeful feeling in his chest behind it.
“Hey guys, guess what?”
Turns out, not really feeling like dating people is fine all on its own.
So while Leo and Usagi go through the ups and downs of long-standing relationships, Donnie, Casey, and April all share their usual collective awkwardness and romantic overtures, Raph finally lands a date with the cadet Y’Gythgba he’s been following around for ages, and Karai and Shinigami disappear over the eastern horizon to share their seventh anniversary-
Mikey cracks a fresh pile of comics in his bedroom, turns up his music, and calls Renet on Skype to have a comparison hangout of their latest picks. He hangs out with Mondo and Woody around the skate park before that, and rolls by Angel’s place to say hi to his friend and her family on the way back. He pops in at LH’s place, trading half the casserole Angel’s mom gave to him for fresh veggies, chatting about his day so far and plans for a comic binge later. He sees his friends, does what he always does with them, and departs from them all one after another.
When he goes home, enjoying the summer heat all on his own and excited to video call his best girl who-is-his-friend and nothing more- he doesn’t feel even the slightest bit lonely as he walks. Like he always has.

My (very random) headcanons for TMNT2012 (made up by me or taken from other versions/fans):
The brothers all have Facebook accounts, have like 5 friends and constantly post inside jokes that April and Casey don’t understand half the time.
Raph is really good at math but it’s never addressed because he’s still way behind Donnie.
Leo is Mr. Perfect at everything except he can’t cook, sing or whistle if it meant saving his life.
April thought them all to drive (Leo was the worst student to work with).
After about a year Chompy grows into the size of a St. Bernard  in a span af a few months then stops growing again for a while. Raph still insists he fits on his shoulder.
Leo has accounts on multiple Space Heroes fansites and writes fanfiction - the bad kind, with a lot of cheesy oneliners.
Donnie and Raph are both really good at drawing while the other two aren’t at all despite Mikey liking to draw.
When they were little Mikey and Raph would fight over the night light because Mikey didn’t like the dark but Raph hated the light because it attracted insects.
Leo’s partly at fault for Raph’s bugphobia.
Splinter didn’t think the turt babies were very intelligent until the first one of them spoke.
Raph was the shortest for a really long time.
Casey’s parents are both alive although divorced. He often visits his mom outside the city that’s why he’s not in every disaster episode.
Mikey has a secret notebook for his pranks where he has all of his brothers’ likes, fears and weaknesses documented and it quite freaky how thoroughly analized inside-out he has all of them.
Splinter was depressed at the time of his mutation (the mutation making it only worse) and the baby turts dependence on him was the only thing keeping him from commiting suicide in the first couple years. :(
Donnie was the first one of them who got dead drunk.
Karai (without wanting to) still considers the Shredder as her father more than Splinter.
Mikey doesn’t have to do daily chores around the lair because he’s the family cook.
Donnie hacks into satellites for fun.
Leo took the “pinkies out” to heart and never holds cups differently.
Splinter has been doing the “healing hands” for years on that poor tree to keep it alive with so little sunlight.
Casey has a grandma from former Yugoslavia and he got that čefur[gopnik] in his blood.
Splinter loves Spanish soap operas and with whoop ass if the boys don’t get off the TV when they’re on.
Donnie sometimes runs on coffee alone for days.
Raph has a secret DeviantArt account (and I support him).
The boys decided (with a bit arguing) who’s the youngest to oldest when they were little.
Mikey has ADHD Donnie said so.
Angel makes subtle Shrek puns/jokes around the turtles, mostly Raph.
If there’s no training Leo sleeps until noon.
Splinter didn’t have the white fur from the beggining. It came with years of stress caused by 4 hyperactive boys.
Renet likes to pop up unannouced just so she can eat real 21st century food and not future artificial muck.
Raph has seen himself in eyeliner thanks to April and “spin the bottle.”
Mikey has a layer of soil under his bed from decayed food.
Donnie’s part of a LARPing group at some random kid’s basement.
Raph once had a realization nightmare that Slash might remember everything pre-mutation, and dearly hopes he has no memory of all of his “alone times” in his room.
Karai will one day walk into the lair with bleached eyebrows and no explanation.
We never realized it but Casey’s tooth gap expanded for one more tooth thanks to Raphael.
Shredder loves his dog Hachiko.
April encourages Casey to cheat on exams because he’s a lost cause.
Donnie owns stock and runs a business from his home computer and buys all the food for the family.
Casey is like a dog after taking a bath: fricking terrified until he dives into the nearest (manure) dumpster and gets that familiar smell back.
The boys all have low self asteem due to them being outcasts.
Raph is a whisperer for all animals smaller than him (the horse is proof).
Mikey will eventually rescue another cat and name her Klunk.
When they arrived at the farmhouse for the first time Raph refused to go into the forest/meadow for 3 days because he saw a grasshopper(!!!) in the grass by the porch.
Mikey was super excited about owning chickens and loves petting them.
Leo still gets days when his healed knee hurts too much to support his full weight.
When April grows up she becomes a detective.
Casey’s a garbage collector and still busting heads.
When Raph was 13 he wanted to go to Hot Topic (I’m pretty sure he still does. -The fishnets gave him away.).
In the future the turts all have their own weird bunches of human friends that they hang with sometimes.
I’ll end it here before this gets out of hand! I excluded headcanons about ships, crushes, sexual orientations, etc. to avoid pointless discourse and hate. Don’t mind adding your own headcanons to this post. :)

Synopsis: Outside a seedy joint, Woody and Mike put the finishing touches on their cunning plan. Woody gives Mike (who is dressed as an Italian chef) a fresh pizza and then skedaddles to safety. Apparently, they’ve been at this all night, but Mike has a good feeling about this round.
Mike knocks on the door and a couple of thugs answer. They didn’t order any pizza, but figure they ought to eat before they get going to “the big meeting”. Hearing all he needed, Mikey ditches the disguise (that wasn’t really working) and starts beating some answers out of the thugs regarding this underworld meeting.
At an abandoned warehouse, Angel finally challenges Hun for leadership of the Purple Dragons. She hits him with her escrima, but he feels nothing. Before the fight can escalate, a Foot messenger appears from the shadows with orders to Hun to bring the Dragons to a meeting of gangs where they will all swear allegiance to the Foot Clan. Hun asks the Dragons if they’d rather be a glorified neighborhood watch under Angel’s leadership or filthy rich under his and the Shredder’s leadership. The Dragons side with Hun and Angel leaves, defeated.
Down in the church lair, Don shows off the anti-gravity gauntlets to April and Raph. Suddenly, Mike bursts in with news about the underworld meeting; he has a time and a location. Splinter tells his sons and April that they must prepare to reclaim Leonardo from the Shredder.
Speaking of Leo, at Foot HQ, is lost in a dream. He sees himself and his brothers about to be executed by the Shredder in Feudal Japan. He is confused and thinks everything is all wrong. The spirit of his mother, Tang Shen appears to him and tells him that he does not belong here. The Shredder swings his sword and Leo awakens, screaming. Karai has been watching him with a cruel look in her eyes. Dark Leo asks if everything is ready for the meeting. Karai sneers and tells him that all the "preparations" have been made.
In a parking garage, the Turtles stock up on provisions with Old Hob and Slash. Raph doesn’t like the amount of munitions Hob is bringing along, but Splinter tells him to appreciate any aid they can get in their mission. April agrees to operate as getaway driver and sends Casey a text, telling him she’s going to help the Turtles find Leo.
At Foot HQ, Alopex meets with Kitsune. Speaking in Japanese (as Kitsune does not speak English), Alopex tells her that when she first heard the stories of a fox-woman from Feudal Japan, it helped her feel at peace, as though she wasn’t the only humanoid fox in the world. Kitsune replies in English (much to Alopex’s surprise) and tells her that foxes must be cunning and know when to watch and when to act. Alopex looks surprised, as though Kitsune knows something.
At the hospital, Angel brings Casey his hockey mask which she found outside the Skara Brae. Casey tells her that his dad came by the other day, looking healthier and happier, and gave him a hockey mask as a peace offering. Angel spills the beans about his father, “Hun”, and how he has taken over the Purple Dragons and wants to ally himself with the Foot. Casey grows furious and hobbles out of his hospital bed and gets dressed. He’s had enough sitting on the sidelines and wants to go to the big meeting to help save Leo and face down his father.
At an old abandoned theater, the Shredder takes the stage as all the gangs in New York watch. He tells them that he has taken command of every gang in New York, one at a time, with only a single hold out: The Savate. The beaten Victor is brought onto the stage and Dark Leo hands Shredder a sword. As Shredder makes an example of Victor by decapitating him, the spirit of Tang Shen appears to Dark Leo and repeats what she said in his dream. Leo becomes disoriented and begins to have second thoughts about his allegiance.
Outside the theater, Splinter gives the sign to begin their assault. Old Hob fires a rocket at the parking lot, exploding several cars as Slash charges the sentries. The Shredder orders the gangs to leave the theater and deal with the attackers. Meanwhile, Don uses his anti-gravity gauntlets to levitate a sedan and sends it smashing through the side of the theater. The Turtles and Splinter invade the theater and tear their way through the Foot Soldiers guarding the Shredder.
In the parking lot, Hun grabs a machinegun and leads the fight against Hob and Slash. He nails Hob in the leg and is about to gun down Slash when the weapon is knocked from his hand. Hun turns around to find Angel and Casey (wearing his old hockey mask).
Inside, Don uses his gauntlet to send Shredder careening into Alopex. Dark Leo attacks Raph but can’t bring himself to deliver a killing blow. Eventually, he succumbs to the confusion and falls to his knees. Shredder orders Karai to prevent the Turtles from escaping. She disables Don’s gauntlet with an arrow then calls in her personal reinforcements: Bebop and Rocksteady.
