Can u make seventeen as bestfriend? Thank you~
𑁍SVT as your best friend!
Requested: Absolutely
Genre: Platonic Fluff
Warning(s): None
Requests are open!
S. Coups
Snack runs!
Didn't matter how late.
"Wanna go with me to get [insert snack here]?"
"Thought you'd never ask!"
Movie nights!
Heavy blankets thrown on the couch, you both cozied up on either side of it, laughing at whatever was on.
Coups was kind of protective of you.
He really didn't like it if you came over completely upset.
"Who the hell hurt my child? Who's ass do I have to kick?" type of thing!
Wonwo
Remember that trend where people would go to thrift stores and blindly pick clothes? That's what you guys did but with books.
You always ended up with the really weird ones!
One time, it had been smut written about the grinch...
Somehow, Wonwoo always got lucky and got a decent one.
He gives me grandpa vibes, lmao! But like in a good way.
You guys watched a lot of game shows together. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. That kind of thing.
You guys liked to poke a bit of fun at some of the contestants on the shows. Mainly the ridiculous answers they gave.
Mingyu
Loyal as they come! ✨️
Gets pouty when you hang out with other friends other than him.
"I'm supposed to be your best friend!"
"You are!"
This was always a goofy little argument you guys had.
Spa nights were pretty frequent. Face masks, pedicures, manicures...!
"Can you paint them? I don't want to."
"Gimme them fingers!"
Expect the nail polish to be messy! He tried his best though!
Vernon
You guys would have the most chilled out, relaxed type of friendship.
I get the vibe he's a floor sitting type of person.
Whenever he's at your house, there is a perfectly good place on the couch/bed for him, boy opts not to sit there.
He picks the floor, every single time. And he just sprawls out on it.
You often do the same though so it all works out.
He often comes over just to sit in silence with you.
You guys didn't have to be doing anything in particular. You guys just simply existed together like 90% of the time.
The other 10% of the time, was you guys having serious conversations about things going on in each others lives
Or maybe even talking about the most outlandish conspiracy theories. Like if Big Foot was real or not lmao
Joshua
Coffee dates at least once a week.
It was a time for you two to talk about your week.
It was a cozy little friendship.
I think he'd do handmade gifts for you.
I mean, yeah, we know he makes bracelets and things like that, but I think sometimes, he'd make you matching T-shirts.
Mainly if you guys were going on vacations together, things like that.
"Do I have to wear this?" you would ask.
"Yes! you have a tendency to get lost! I need to be able to find you easily!"
He gives hovering mom energy but in the most positive way possible lmao
Jeonghan
"It's for the plot" sort of friendship.
You guys feed each other your delusions about whatever.
He had a crush on someone, you'd be right there saying "oh I know they really couldn't stop staring at you!" When in reality, the person just happened to look in his direction.
That type of vibe
One to clown on you! 100%!
You fell asleep first at the little sleep over you guys were having? Better believe he's taking pictures of you and posting them on IG or something. And if it isn't that, he's drawing all over your face in permanent marker.
You also did the same type of thing to him.
One time, you'd put clear tape over the bathroom door, when he tried to walk through, he got tangled all up in it!
Woozi
I think late night drives are pretty common for you two.
Chilling out in silence.
Listening to whatever was on the radio.
Such a vibe
Tons of deep talks
Lots about how you guys wished things turned out differently
Or how things could have been better if...
If it wasn't things like that, it was silly little inconveniences through out the day.
"This idiot cut me off in traffic and then flipped me off"
"It's what you deserve"
A little bit of a dark humored type of friendship I think.
Dokyeom
I think there would be a whole lot of sleepovers at one another's places.
You guys would be stuck together like glue
Nothing could separate you guys!
You did everything together!
He had to go to the grocery store for groceries — you were right there going along with him.
You had a doctor's appointment, he'd be sitting in the waiting room for you.
Almost codependent.
Seungkwan
This man is the best friend anyone could ask for!
You guys love to spill the tea with one another, similarly to the boyfriend thing.
"[Insert name here] is so rude"
"They are! Oh my god!"
The looks you guys give one another from across the room...
No words even need to be spoken!
You guys just look at one another and immediately know what the other is thinking!
He feels exactly like your soulmate in best friend form!
Hoshi
This goof!
You know that video where the kid says "Do the roar"? You'd say this to him and he'd end up doing his infamous tiger thing.
To be honest, it was kind of funny.
I think random presents from one another is something the two of you did.
Yeah, 90% of what he'd gifted you was little lion themed things and he'd received a lot of tiger things from you. A sort of match-y, match-y thing.
Speaking of match-y, match-y things...friendship bracelets were a thing!
If you didn't wear it, he would be so upset! Please never forget to wear it!
Jun
He is so cute!
He doesn't try to make you laugh all that often but he does unintentionally.
That's a pretty common occurrence.
You guys would text each other about every little thing through out the day
"I think I'm getting a pimple on my nose. Looks like it's going to be HUGE one...you wanna pop it?"
"Dude, I stubbed my toe on the couch corner."
Little things like that, it was a constant thing.
Minghao
Personal photographer!
He gets your best angles!
"Tilt your head a little more...perfect." *click*
He also really likes to pick out clothes for you. If doesn't he'll tell you exactly what he doesn't like about the look. Even if it stings a bit.
He'd always tell you the dress code for some event you guys were attending!
I think, he'd be the time to have meditation sessions with you, or at least attempt to but really couldn't focus because you would kind of laugh in between the awkward silences.
He'd lightly tap you, trying his very best to stay focused on the guided meditation but sooner or later, he'd join in on you laughing.
Dino
Hypes you up! Constantly!
He tries to teach you some of their choreography
He's so patient with you! Even if you are a little clumsy and mis-step a bit.
Another one who loves to clown on you, it feels like one of his favorite pass-times.
"You look like a racoon!" he'd tell you before laughing his ass off about how goofy you looked. It wasn't like you had much of a choice in staying up all night to finish that project! You'd put it off for the night before it was due
Another thing he'd do is give you encouragement when you most needed it.
He was always the best at that.
Trash day? He was right there with you on the couch ripping every single part of your day up with you.

ADHSquirrel project time
In true disorganized jumping-bean-brain fashion, I've got multiple projects going at once. I prefer this, actually - I like to cycle through things when brain screams "No more focus on this!"
In no apparent order:
Dollhouse nostalgia: this is a cheap, bad kit from the 90s alternately known as the Greenleaf Allison or the Whitney Cambridge dollhouse. It's made of balsa wood, and the wood warps if you look at it sideways.
Tumblr media
I put one together when I was (much, much) younger, and then we threw it away when it started to fall apart. Now I want it back - but this time, I want to put it together so it's a lot more stable.
Plans: reinforce exterior load-bearing walls by creating faux clapboard siding and quoins (the corner pieces) like this:
Tumblr media
I found craft wood sheets that are 1/8-inch (3 mm) thick, and I'll be cutting them in 1/2 to 1-inch strips and gluing them to the exterior walls. Then paint and seal. I also like the raised decorations on the window sills and shutters. Hopefully, I have enough craft sheets to do that, too. I got the kind of sheets that are thin enough to cut with a craft knife, and I've got rulers for days. Dreading the sanding, though. So much sanding. Also, I've been researching putting together dollhouses, and I learned that it's better to dry fit the whole thing, secure in place with masking tape, and then glue stuff together. This is - very smart.
Sewing: continues apace. Pattern pieces are cut out for this Requiem Art Design Renaissance gown.
Tumblr media
I'll be doing the long, fitted sleeves. The pattern is made for knit fabric, but I'm using a woven fabric (silk dupioni I've been told, but I am not entirely certain what that is), so I incorporated the seam/hem allowances into the edges. I'm not linking to this pattern again, because it has... issues. Let's call them issues. (I'll be sending a write-up of my feedback to the designer once I've finished.)
I've cut out the pattern pieces. Now I'm tracing them onto cereal box cardboard to make pattern "blocks" - then I'll trace them onto yet more paper after I add 1/4-inch seam/hem allowances. I'm also planning to use washable markers to trace the actual patterns onto the fabric. I want to see if the marker actually washes out.
Next up: cutting cheap fabric for a toile/muslin, aka a practice run. Sewing machine has been cleaned and is in good operating condition.
Dress fabric:
Tumblr media
I'm using the one on the right for the dress, and the one in the middle (a gorgeous copper in person) for the arm bands and sleeve linings. It's going to be for my Feeple60 girls.
Tumblr media
Poor Ria.
Face-ups/blushing: every time I'm in the mood to go downstairs and work on face-ups and blushing, my ankle decides to be a little diva and inform me that under no circumstances will I be able to take the stairs today. This is exceptionally frustrating, but such are the joys of aging, I suppose.
Craftorama room: even more stuff has been cleared out of the master bedroom in preparation for upcoming staycation, when we'll move into the MBR and create Craftorama room. My office has been totally taken over by dolls, and I love it. I walk into the office to work, and all my lovely girls are here to keep me company. Cleaning books off bookshelves and filling a box to donate to the local library/thrift store, so I'll have shelf space for my dolls. Cuz priorities.
I am so excited for Craftorama room; I will not shut up about it. No more ankle-diva-no-stairs. I can close the door and work - no worries about cats trying to play with (and possibly get injured by) sewing notions. And I can finally, FINALLY, restring in peace.

Blaidd Cosplay project I worked on during May 2022
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elden Ring was the hype, I wanted to be a good turtle. I originally wanted to get this cosplay ready by Otakuthon 2022, but I never did finish it. I do want to finish this cosplay one day!
Now let ramble about my progress on it! :readmore:
Tumblr media
When it comes to video game cosplay, I take the easier route and rip models from the game, then modify them for cosplay. I 3D modelled a few Kamen Rider suits before and all that was a pain in general. For my sanity's sake, I plan to model as little as possible for future cosplays.
Lucky, the in-game model was well made, so I didn't have to make a lot of modifications. I had to separate some pieces, subdivide and give it some volume.
The head was given a lot of holes, so it would be lighter to wear. I had to separate the teeth and the gums because I will paint them individually.
I let my 3D printer work. Meanwhile....
Tumblr media
Eyeballs! Molded with moldable plastic pellets. The iris part of the eye hollows inwards for a bit of that 3D look. The whole thing then got covered in 2-part epoxy to fill the cavity and make the eye shiny.
There's usually a few steps involved when it comes to painting. That is priming and then taking your time to paint something with the medium of your choice. Well, I skipped all that and decided to draw on the eye with sharpie and markers. Results were... satisfactory enough.
Tumblr media
Time to work on the gummy teethies! I've been saving up for years on an airbrush set and I got really excited to try them for the first time.
FDM 3D prints don't come out perfect usually, so I brushed some XTC-3D (fancier 2-part epoxy) on them, and let it cure first.
With a bit of filler primer and airbrushing magic...
Tumblr media
Teeth! Dentists in the Lands Between will make a KILLING if they ever move there.
Pretty happy with the process! I didn't bother to shade the gums because we won't see a lot of that anyway.
Tumblr media
Did I ever tell you sewing is my least favorite part of cosplay? My specialty is more on props and armor. This image should've been flipped upside-down!
I tried to sew gloves using a free-to-use pattern I found on the internet (forgot where I got them). First one was too tight, second on was better, but still feel weird to wear. I will get these right one day!!
Tumblr media
I bought some FUR! I shopped for a WHOLE hour at the fabric store for the right faux fur, and none of them felt like a match to Blaidd's fur. His fur was darker (than the fur in the picture, left side), with a hint of blue.
I tried to dye the fur a little bit to darken it, but not too much because I didn't want the white part of the fur to turn too dark. I used a dye for synthetic fibers. Right side of the image the the fur after soaking in hot dye solution for a few minutes (still wet)
Results? I there was only a subtle difference between then non-dyed and dyed furs! I either didn't let it bathe in the solution long enough, or I did not put enough dye in the solution.
ANYWAY I decided to just used the furs as is and airbrush the details at the end.
Tumblr media
Now for the cloak? I was planning on tying some crochet threads together, then separate the ends with a fur brush, resulting in some fluffy ends the add on to the cape.
However, after re-examining Blaidd's cloak, I'm considering on scrapping this process because I feel like there's better materials to give out the look I want.
Tumblr media
After assembling the mouth parts/eyes/nose, adding the lips with black moldable plastic and adding the hinge (to make the mouth movable), it's off to furring the head!
With the help of masking tape and sharpie, I went to pattern the fur. I then cut the appropriate shapes to sew.
I knew I had to cut the fabrics a bit bigger to make things fit and all, so I did that. My mistake? I realized after finishing the snout part, that I've cut the shapes TOO BIG! It did not fit the print!
So that's another thing I have to redo. Sewing is my passion (sarcasm).
This concludes part 1 of my Blaidd cosplay journal. Will there be a part 2? I don't know. It started snowing a few days ago and Winter is generally not a good time for cosplay-making. I'll have to see about this when Spring/Summer comes!

Hello! I love your Loth cat designs! And wanted to make my own since Disney hasn’t renewed its loth/Tooka cat products and are sold out (Plus I like your designs waaaay better). My biggest issue is figuring out how to made the head of your cute Loth cats 😅 I’m not on and unable to get onto Instagram could you post the story on how you designed it on here or give me some tips on how to make one? -thank you so much :)
Also, I’m designing the pattern of this one after a cheetah, I also love how you did the striped tail so I’m going to do that with black and white longer fur at the end. (I’ll need to trim it some though.) but any tips you could give would be much appreciated! 😄
Tumblr media
Hi there! Thank you for reaching out, I will post roughly how I made the heads. However it's all the same techniques of making an art doll. There are great youtube tutorials out there which I watched to learn how to make my loth cats.
Long Post! Also heads up, they look really creepy until you put fur on them!
I used a styrofoam base for the head to keep it really light, loth cats have huge heads so it's important to keep the head light on the doll so it doesn't fall on it's face right away. Craft stores usually sell half spheres that I carved down to more of an oval shape to start.
I bought resin eyes on etsy and glued them on with hot glue. There are so many color options so have fun with them! I then used foam clay to add more shape to the face and make the eyes more natural looking. You can also probably use paper mache or another light air drying clay. But again keep the weight in mind.
I never worry about adding too many details as it will all be covered by faux fur, but having those shapes helps it look more realistic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next you enter what I call the creepy monkey phase. I usually paint the face a natural skin tone or the color of the fur so you can't see any gray.
I then attach the head to the body fur using glue. Next I cover the face in masking tape and draw the fur patterns I want onto it. This is a common fursuit head making technique. I recommend looking that up for more details on how to do that, but the photo below shows the steps I did.
*Note! Pay attention to the fur direction, on my tape pattern you can see the arrows showing which way the fur lays, use real animals as reference.
I then glued it on the face using fabric glue or hot glue. The more you cover at this point the less you have to flock later.
Tumblr media
Once you have most of the face covered, you can cover any little gaps using a flocking technique. Basically laying down a layer of glue and then taking very short hairs of faux fur and pressing it into the glue. Again there are some great youtube tutorials on how to do it if you google "flocking art doll".
Below is my first loth cat showing how weird it looks. Trust the process! It will look silly and kinda bad right until the end.
Tumblr media
Trim up any extra hairs that get in the way of the face, and next comes my favorite part, making them look like loth cats and not nightmare creatures!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I use sharpie fabric markers for the blacks and go around the eyes and mouth. This give them instant personality. You can also use some paints to add extra markings and color.
For the tail. I don't have any photos of the tail specifically, but here is the pieces of the pattern for the blue cat. The tail is basically just a rounded tube!
Tumblr media
Good luck with your build! I would love to see the final project!

my favorite normal man. with some cat masking tape i forgot to peel off and then decided to leave it as it is i think it's cool.
he is painted with cheap chinese acrylic markers, which are not bad but the tips are too thicc for painting details on this small sketchbook. i think i will paint him yhis way again on something bigger
i really wanted to focus on my art this year, but also the exam session is haunting me. but still nothing feels like a cozy painting session after a whole day of studying.

Up on the table today is an Izuru Kamukura written execution! This was made a year ago and I only minorly edited it this year, so it might not be the best piece of work...
When you see the cut, that's when the gore kicks in. Feel free to scroll past it.
HOPE’S PEAKS’ MONSTER/FRANKENSTEIN OF NORMALITY
Ultimate Hope
Izuru Kamukura’s
Execution: Executed
Izuru is wearing a hospital gown. He walks into a plain white room, filled to the brim with Monokumas. Some are with clipboards, and all with long lab coats. Izuru is on a stage: They are elevated off the ground, towering above the already tiny Monokumas. One Monokuma, leading the bunch, points at Izuru and seemingly commands them to do something. Unbothered, Izuru walks over to an easel, next to them, on the stage. They start painting – and are finished in mere seconds. The Monokumas attempt to write things down, but are quickly pushed down by more Monokumas, with a range of emotions. Some are awestruck; they are amazed. Some are crying tears of happiness, some are yelling and screaming, talking about the painting. It is clear that every Monokuma in the room is genuinely impressed. This is for good reason, of course. The painting is beautiful — Every stroke has been planted carefully, every colour matches and every line goes on to make absolute perfection. Despite how robotic it looks, of course. But surely that can be overlooked.
When the Monokumas calm down (which takes an awfully long time, mind you,) one of them drags a whiteboard onto the stage, handing Izuru a marker. Izuru is still unbothered. They know this is an execution and they are not particularly fond of these last-minute shenanigans. Soon enough, Izuru pops off the marker cap, and starts scribbling things on the board. Complex maths problems that even the mathematicians of today have not figured out.
A loud snap is heard. A Monokuma has pointed something out to Izuru.
Izuru has made a mistake, and it wasn't something the Monokuma made up or edited, or even tricked him into. Izuru had made a genuine mistake, and they knew it. Before they could even start thinking about how this could've happened, several Monokumas had grabbed Izuru and started dragging them away.
Izuru ends up in a surgical room. The Monokumas are now wearing hair scrubs and masks; They've taped them down to a surgical table.  The table is cross shaped.
Monokumas all around them grab various surgical tools — while they wave them around at Izuru threateningly, other Monokumas bring out trays full of varying body parts.
When all the trays are brought to the surgical table, the Monokumas go ham. They start slicing at Izuru’s body parts. Arms, legs, torso, everything. Bones break, limbs are twisted, and you can hear the cracks in every joint as they're torn from Izuru’s body. Their eye is taken out, their nails are pulled… The chunks of them that have been ripped out are replaced, with the very same organs on the trays. Yet, those are not the only parts being used. No, parts of Izuru themselves are rearranged, in mostly the wrong spot. The ones that are correctly placed get stitched up, but then brutally torn out. Stitched up, torn out. Stitched up, torn out…
Until there's nothing left. Until it's just an assortment of body parts and blood. A twisted Frankenstein of body parts… an incoherent mixture of parts, all harvested from the remains of the Reserve Course long dead, the stem of Izuru’s existence. The reason they exist, the cocoon they emerged from and left behind. How many of the Reserve Course would’ve died to be a part of Izuru? Then again, they already were, and already had. They were finally what they yearned to be the most.
The Reserve Course had died for Izuru’s sins.
The process has been reversed once and for all.
It's hard to tell if there's any Izuru left on the surgery table. Their body had been mutilated so badly, it could read only as a pile of gore in the shape of a cross. How despairing it was to be turned into the very thing they despised, that they used to be. Was the body ever even theirs? They are erased, just like the person who once inhabited it so long ago.
The Monokumas lift the corpse off the table, ready to see how their little experiment fairs in the real world.
It falls to the ground as soon as they let go.
Splat! Experiment success.

May I suggest Eddie with a male or ftm reader who's basically got the personality of a hobbit addicted to energy drinks- like, he wakes up and drinks tea and he draws and writes and is just very aesthetic in every aspect; and then he also turns into a feral gremlin at times- chugs Monster and then he and Eddie just feed into each other's ADHD and talk about Lord of the Rings all day or they go and spray paint a skate park or something? I hope your day/night is going amazing!!!
Hi there! I'm not entirely sure if this was a request, or you just dropping a thought/idea you had. I'll expand on it like a mini blurb!
_______________________
I think in an established relationship--one where Eddie spends Friday nights post D&D, the shenanigans are in full swing. Your windows rattle and thump with the guitars and drums from your stereo. It's one of Eddie's tape as you always let him start the night off with whatever he wants. If he doesn't want to listen to music, you two are definitely up super late watching movies, discussing the new book that you or Eddie checked out from the library.
Either way the nights are loud and boisterous. It's a time full of youth and thrashing, dropping the masks of the day. And after a night of debauchery, the worst that happened is that maybe you and Eddie drew on the windows of a police car--nothing scandalous. Eddie drew a marijuana leaf. You just a regular old skull and cross bone (and you never tag the same place twice. There's no sense of having more cop suspicion than necessary).
But the mornings are calm. Eddie wakes well after you would have. There's the soft clink of pots and pans. It's not loud or harsh. Just normal kitchen noise. It rouses Eddie from his sleep--that and the smell of breakfast. He clambers his way into the kitchen and there, you're not fixing much--pancakes and eggs. Your mug of tea still hot as it billows steam.
"Am I late again, chef?" Eddie teases. His voice is soft and his kisses are lazy against your shoulders.
"Another tardy, sous chef and I'm going to have to throw you into detention."
Eddie shiver against your back and snorts. "The horrors."
The mornings are always slower. You have tea. Eddie grabs plates, takes over for the last patch of pancakes, like he always does. The two of you read. There's a half assed attempt at the crossword puzzle in the paper--always done in pencil. Eddie's always shocked at how far the two of you do get into the puzzle, how close you two get to actually completing it. But the puzzle gets lost to the sunrise. You etch it onto Eddie's back as he reads a chapter. The markers always tickle and when he get to his ribs he has to wait for you to move on before he can read again.
When high noon hits, the two of you are buzzing again. "We should get out do something," Eddie suggest. There's not a lot to do in Hawkins, but there's enough.
You always grin. "Want to cause trouble?"
"With you, I absolutely do," Eddie laughs. He pulls his hair from the bun you put it in for him and then grabs his t-shirt from the floor. "Last one dress is a rotten egg," he hollers, racing down the hallway to your room to get dressed.

Tumblr media
Today, I continued exploring with charcoal self portraits. I had researched Frank Auerbach and I wanted to recreate some of his techniques. My first atttempt was just rubbing the charcoal really hard into the paper until it tore through to the sheet behind it. I wanted to add something fun so I used red marker to draw lots of eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My second attempt was more daring. I drew myself again and then smudged it all with my hand. I rubbed into the paper to tear it. I ripped some new paper and stuck it on with masking tape. I drew onto that and I think it came out with a very cool but very ominous look. The disruption of the paper can represent the disruption of our thoughts and feelings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After lunch, I gave painting on a larger scale a try. I've never worked that big before so I was a bit apprehensive but excited. The bigger portrait on the right was my first go. I found myself struggling with proportions and brush technique. I tried two different brushes for painting the hair and I prefferred the bigger and flatter brush. I like the second one I did better. I did it faster and quicker than the first and I think that the smaller scale suited me more. The scale of that one was 35 inches in length, 24 inches in width while the bigger one was 56 inches in length with a width of 35 inches.
Tumblr media
This last charcoal drawing was my experiment with a different mirror propped higher up and a different perspective. It was a real challenge and I'm not happy with the way it turned out but I am happy that I did it.

I love when sketchbooks start falling apart at the spines and you repair it with layers and layers of duct tape. I love when bits of masking/scotch tape stick out where it was badly folded around a tear in a page. I love when the used pages inside get wrinkled from the markers or paint, or items and scrap paper the Artist has taped inside causes the sketchbook to no longer close flat. I love when there’s random scribbles and notes from things unrelated to art, be it a quote someone at the table said while drawing, a shopping list, math equations, etc. I love half-attempted drawings, abandoned sketches, the progression of multiple attempts across the page just to convert one image in one’s mind onto the paper. I love when markers bleed through the page. I love smudged and barely visible graphite or sharpie doodles on the covers, where they aren’t supposed to be. I love when there’s so many piled on stickers that they start to overlap. I love the little corner doodles from friends who snuck in graffiti while one’s not looking. I love the worst attempts someone would never share, and the unexpected masterpieces one does when just zoned out
Sketchbooks are walking memories, time capsules. I love sketchbooks

You mentioned loving those "what's in my bag/what's on my nightstand" videos. I was just wondering… would you ever consider doing something like that for the Y/Ns? 🥺 I love the way you draw/describe everyday objects, and I think it'd be so cute!
i do love those “what’s in my bag” type posts/videos. 👀 it’s bc im nosey and easily influenced LOL, i wanna know what you’ve got in your bag and why it’s there and whether or not it has any correlation to what’s been keeping u up at night. 👀
but!!! YES i wanna play this game!!!! omg i know it’s taken me an age to answer but i have poured over the list i made for this—i window shopped, asked other people what they thought, cross referenced my own writing so now we are PREPARED!!
i consider this a part 2 to how i envision the Y/Ns in the in another life verse dressing. and just like part one, this one is under a cut—so that the friends we have among us who don’t want their vision of Y/N spoilt by my subjective taste in objects ruined don’t have to see it!
weedsie-woo would favour bags that can carry a lot; a heavy waterbottle, one of haru’s toys, the little pouch packed with like, band-aids and face-mist and hand cream and lip balm. then you’d have things like the crumpled empty pack of hero chips (that’s haru’s), a wallet, a coin-purse, and obviously the all-important phone. the pocket knife from katsuki. the little pouch that holds weed’s hearing aid (and a spare battery, just in case).

scribbles would grab whatever’s near. 💀 whatever bag ends up being used, it’s always crammed full of shit—a pencil case, filled with coloured pencils and fountain pens and ink and watercolour paints—paint markers, mechanical pencils, erasers. the journal that scribbles takes with them, everywhere. headphones and a tin of breath mints and a small makeup pouch with like, idk, lip gloss and concealer, mascara. there’s a bottle of perfume in there somewhere and a mask and a wallet, scribble’s phone (although that mostly lives in scribble’s hand). it’s not uncommon for scribbles to lug magazines to the studio—for reference.
both Y/Ns would swap things, interchangeably. weeds might buy a new magazine, or a manga volume and take it to work—scribbles might take a drink bottle from a convenience store. both of them might use a flimsy tote bag one day, then the next scribbles might arrive to work with a fine leather handbag. weeds might take some florist wire or tape home and then take it back to the shop a few days later. it’s just—stuff like that! there’s gum in weed’s bag one day, some tiny gachapon toy in scribbles’ the next. maybe it pours rain in weed’s part of town, so there’s a little compact umbrella shoved into the tote, while scribble’s side of the city is dry as a bone so there’s a cap in scribb’s instead. on and on and on forever, as they go about their lives and their days. 😌

Ahk’s guide on making your own tablet!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since a few people asked: Hopefully yours will be prettier than mine, my hands are super shaky lol.
You will need:
Gold paint and brushes (or paint markers)
foam like a playmat or yoga mat
Any super strong glue
Painters/masking tape
Wire
A knife/ blade
Step 1:
Draw out the shape on the foam, if you want it to be thicker foam you may need to glue two pieces together to get some dimension.
Step 2:
Cut out the shapes. The make sure you label which tile goes where or you’ll have to jigsaw it all back together blind.
Step 3:
sand any rough edges down, and use the tape to seal up any gaps and holes if you’ve had to glue parts together for thickness. Try and get the surface as smooth as you can.
Step 4:
paint! Base later first and all the details in a slightly darker shade. If you’re really good at carving you could even carve them in if you want.
Step 5:
Use wire to through the middle of each tile to hold them into the frame and allow them to rotate. It’s kinda fiddly, so best to poke the hole with something sharp first.
And that’s it! You have your own tablet. There’s plenty of references online and you can make it any size you want. If you want it movie accurate I’d say it’s about a little bigger an a4 book, just from sight. It definitely doesn’t have to be neat, it’s an ancient artefact after all, it’s gonna be a bit scuffed up.
For all your cosplay or just wanting to own it needs! My next project is my wesekh/usekh which…
Tumblr media
Oof that’s going to be hard to tackle. I’ll keep you updated through.

Day 1, reunited with my favorite medium. Lots to relearn after not painting with it for probably 10 years or so.
Things learned: 1. Paper is way too soft for liquid mask (ruined my cat that way :( but I should have tested it on another page instead). 2. Paper is also too soft for any washi/artist tape. 3. Lost my watercolor safe ink pen, so here we are. I am using this to my advantage though. Hoping to get some natural looking lines on the soon to be tabby cat using its outline + water. Will test on another page first. I might just need to go in with marker instead. I'll let the painting do the talking; maybe it has a different story it wants to tell.
I goofed up a little bit just not paying attention which is just something you can't do with this artform. But I'll go in after the rest of the piece is done and touch it up with acrylic.

AND NOW The process of making Henry.
Tumblr media
The beginning of the journey was typical of how my traditional art gets made, although I decided to experiment with more colored pencil shading- like I did with this old drawing of James.
Tumblr media
I also messed up his cab lining in marker, so I went back with an oil-based paint pen to fix it. I used masking tape to make sure I didn’t make it worse XD
And it seemed he was done...
I WAS WRONG.
Tumblr media
HE WAS HORRIBLY CROOKED. LOOK AT HIM. TILTED. it bothered me so much that I cut him out of the page so I could straighten him
Tumblr media
if that wasnt arduous enough. I noticed that i’d made his front disproportionate. So I cut him into even smaller pieces, removing his front running board + buffers, and his leading wheels
Tumblr media
(look how they massacred my boy) and so I began putting my beloved back together.
Tumblr media
I moved his front slightly higher up and closer to the pistons, fitting them more snugly than before. In retrospect, I think this could have been done better but I can always do this again (I’m always down to draw henry). I glued him to a piece of black construction paper and then cut him out once again.
Tumblr media
sometime after I cut him out again I used my spare paper to do this. a mimir <3
I tried a few different ways to fully flatten the drawing (it had gotten bent a few times during the process) but to no avail. The final image was created by gently attaching henry to some watercolor paper with tiny strips of masking tape on the underside. I pray it doesnt get ripped when I want to move him again
I hope you guys like me talking about my artistic process behind some of my work, because I have chronic cant Shut Up disease + good practice for doing analyses and process book shit for school.
I really do love making fun crafty traditional art, and if I don’t burn out- there should be more :)

How to make badass patches when you can't paint or freehand a straight line to save your life
Materials:
Thin but rigid clear pastic sheets like the ones pictured below
Washi or masking tape
Fine tip permanent marker
Graphing paper
Pen (optional)
Pencil
Scissors
Exacto/ razor knife
Fabric for patches
Acrylic paint
Sponge (make sure it is a small grained foam)
Safety pins (to attach the patch to clothes if so desired)
Tumblr media
Step 1: draw in pencil on graph paper, making a really cool design. Know where your positive space and negative space is, and think in your head what will happen when you cut it out. Make sure you will not have any islands that'll fall out of your stencil, or be prepared to mimic those spaces with masking tape
Tumblr media
Step 2: outline darker with pen
Step 3: cut out a size of plastic that is equal to your design
Step 4: attach plastic to paper with your tape
Step 5: trace your design with your permanent marker
Tumblr media
Step 6: detach tape (pulling it along its line as close to the paper as possible, peeling, can usually save your paper)
Step 7: gently carve along the lines with a razor knife until they are loose (it is best to do this on top of something you do not care about, such as garbage cardboard)
Step 8: carefully carve the corners of your design with your knife until the shape can be removed. You now have a stencil.
Step 9: secure stencil to fabric
Step 10: cut a piece of your sponge so it is a good size for blotting (I prefer 1" by 1" by 2" shapes), and prepare a quarter sized puddle 9f paint to blot from
Step 11: blot the design, using as little paint and as little force as possible. It takes awhile to get a solid coverage, but you will. You do it this way because a large amount of paint or paint pressed in too forcefully will slip under your stencil and produce strange blobs
Step 12 (optional): outline patch with permanent marker to cover up any blotches
Final product:

Don't be discouraged if any of these steps do not turn out as you envisioned them: I've been refining my technique here for awhile. It's something that takes a lot of practice to be good at.
Happy crafting!
