there's like these children in my bus around 7th 8th grade and thus one guy just fuvking bullied the shit out of this 5th grade child like when there's no seat in the bus and they have to sit next to each other he squeezes him into the window and threaten to like push his face out and stuff and when getting off he's like starts hitting him if his bag touches him or something and our bus attendants are absolutely useless the aunty barely does anything she just shouts at the 5th grade child and LITERALLY just makes fun of him and except for both of them everyone just stays quiet and everyone makes fun of the 8th grade guy quietly but they don't actually do anything to stop him and even if they do they just tell the bus attendant who does NOTHING and me and this one other guy (one of those making gun of the bully) are the oldest in the bus and i REALLY feel like I should do something but the thing is i dpnt know how effective it will even be AND AND whay if I make it worse or soemthibg and the guy who is getting bullied doesnt go to my school anyway so i can't ask teachers to talk to him and if i tell mine pr the bullys teacher idk what they'll do u know

Thinking about Buck and children and wanting to bang my head against a wall because here's the thing, we are presented to Buck as this "I like the uniform" type dude, like his first solo scene is him stealing the truck to have sex in. We're introduced to him as firehose for heavens sake. But then the calls we see him in are the resuscitating the kid that drowned and the baby on the wall. And the call with the baby, Buck picks a fight with Athena to protect that baby. Then we have the home invasion, once again, a call with a child. Like you finish the pilot and you boil Buck to "he likes sex and has a soft spot for kids". And times goes on we realize the sex bit is just a bad coping mechanism but the kid thing is reinforced all the time. With the little boy on the plane or the little girl on the claw machine and his excitement with toy drives and the way if there's kids involved in the call he just, kneel down to their level and reassure them. That's obviously really heightened with Christopher and Jee because they're kids he's finally allowed to love. But it drives me up the wall the way it all leads back to his begins episode. The adults in his life weren't kind to him as a child so he's kind to every kid he meets. He was treated as if he was invisible so he makes sure the kids he meet won't feel that way even if just for the time he's with them and it just makes me want to cry.

PSA: i keep seeing posts about staying cool in extreme heat that include advice like "gatorade is bad actually!" and "don't drink fruit juice it'll just dehydrate you!" and neither of these are true!

regarding fruit juice: there's apparently a misconception that Any Sugar At All will dehydrate you, and that's simply not true. yes, sugar will make you pee more when consumed in large amounts, but 1) the natural sugar in fruits won't do this to you 2) great news! a lot of fruit juices exist without any added sugar in them! 3) honestly even having a glass of the fruit juice with added sugar won't completely dehydrate you as long as you're also drinking water throughout the day. if its hot you deserve a cold treat of a drink!!! can't go wrong with fruit juice!!!

regarding gatorade: maybe this isn't an every day drink, but guess what: if it's 110F/40C or hotter outside, and you don't have AC, or you're moving around a lot outside of the AC, and you're sweating buckets: that's when you drink a gatorade.

gatorade exists to replenish all the electrolytes (salt) and glucose (sugar) that you sweat out. YES it is meant for athletes to drink during intensive work outs and not necessarily for people who aren't doing that kind of exercise. BUT GUESS WHAT! when you're sweating buckets because you had to walk to the bus in extreme heat, that's intensive exercise. please feel free to drink a gatorade after that! that's its intended use case!!!!

no: neither of these drinks should be a total replacement for water. but drinking a lot of water and then treating yourself to a fruit juice with lunch is a good idea!!! drinking a gatorade becuase you just had to walk for 20 minutes in the heat is a good idea!!!

listen. i know it's not 2014 anymore and i know it's just a throwaway line and that the russo brothers didnt intend for marvel action blockbuster captain america the winter soldier to become the tragic gay love story that never was but man. having steve say "it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience" in a conversation about romantic relationships right before the bucky reveal is so cruel. it's not just about steve and bucky obviously having the shared experience of being "out of time," it's the fact that they've both been stripped of their humanity in opposite directions. steve is a legend, he is an american hero and a national icon before he is a human being the same way that bucky is a weapon and a killing machine before he is a human being. steve knows that anyone who falls in love with him in the 21st century fell in love with captain america first, and that's just not him. but then the one person who knew him first and knew him best and loved him (not captain america, that little guy from brooklyn) so much he died for it is alive, impossibly. and it's a miracle because he's back and it's horrific because he's back under the worst possible circumstances. but to steve, the winter soldier is worth tearing the world apart for because he's always been bucky first. they find each other and suddenly they're human again. and maybe, despite it all, being "out of time" becomes a blessing, because in this century they'd finally be allowed to love each other the way they've always wanted to. like real people do.

like. no. the captain america trilogy isn't about two queer men traumatized and alienated by war and modern life rediscovering and reclaiming their humanity through their love for each other. but. i mean. it couldve been
