just sitting here thinking about how sad/weird/amazing it is for Bruce to finally hear press and community members say “The Waynes” plural again without meaning his parents
Imagine that one scene from Amelie where she finally kisses her love interest and not a word is spoken and yet there is SO MUCH intimacy and relief. Now replace Amelie with Aziraphale and Crowley with the guy she kisses. Absolute PERFECTION.
The animators worked their magic here once again by showing us Casey’s inner conflict and pain instead of making him say it.
Just look at the succession of emotions on his face; you can really feel them:
First fear, then sadness, then determination, then the sadness takes over once more and then pure grief at the idea of losing his mentor again. He then looks away because he just can’t do it.
And only after Leo’s pleas do you see the resignation peak through the tears as he takes the final decision before running away as fast as possible.
This is beautiful storytelling through the use of the animation itself.
And Casey is so courageous because you can really feel how terrified he was but in the end, he trusted Leo that this was the best decision at the moment and did what he had to do, even tho it pained him immensely.
(Yes I cried when I first watched this part AND while making those gifs)
(Shout out to @antimattercontainment for pointing out in one of their post that you can screenshot Netflix with firefox; it gave me a much easier way to record parts of the movie to make these gifs. Thank you, you made my life SO much easier XD.)
Shane using Ryan’s voice for Dr Goondes in the hotdaga ran so the hologram Professor singing about skinning him alive could HIT EVERYONE WITH A FUCKING CHAIR
No but the fact that Alma is just as broken as the rest of the family, and the fact that her holding in her emotions was part of the problem and the fact that she recognized that she was in the wrong and that she made her family think her love was conditional, and the fact that she apologizes and the fact that she says “The miracle is not some magic that you’ve got. The miracle is you, not some gift, just you.” and it’s like, wow, that was exactly what they needed to hear and exactly what she forgot to show them and and and
Alma isn’t a bad person, she’s scared. And fear makes people act cruelly. And she realizes and admits her mistake, and she starts trying to make up for it, and I think that looking at her as irredeemable is ignoring the whole point. The point being that family is about accepting each other and understanding each other and opening up to each other and Alma was alone for so long that she forgot this, until Mirabel reminded her that she wasn’t alone.
Alma made bad decisions and she was hard on everyone but goddammit she apologized and she’s trying to make up for it and that’s more than some of us get so let me have my imaginary abuela who tells me she’s sorry and tries to make up for it all and who reassures me that I’m not the reason our family is broken, no matter what she may once have believed, okay?
i love lucky star because you go into it thinking “haha silly out of touch thursday show” and by the end come to realize that the entire cast is made up of the most insane fucking lesbians known to man
They say you can see someone’s soul through their eyes, and I have seen yours. It’s wild like an ocean during a storm but it’s warmth akin to fire. Your soul is larger than most, only because it rivals all of the love you have within your heart. They say you can see someone’s soul through their eyes, and I like yours.
I’m begging all Tomarrymort enjoyers out there to listen to this song if you haven’t already and view it through the lens of their relationship. From my understanding (after having listened to it dozens of times in a row), the song explores themes of death and not being scared of it because you’re with that person. It talks about wanting to follow your lover everywhere and never leaving their side, even if it means going into “the light” and “where angels tread”. It’s beautiful and haunting and heartbreaking and reminds me of Tom and Harry so much every time I listen to it to the point that it takes my breath away!
