Some days, coming home, getting on Tumblr and looking at my activity log, seeing people liking and reblogging, commenting in replies and tags on posts I've shared from different fandoms or dealing with different subjects, it's like...
It's like I prepared a buffet before I left my house for work that morning, I opened a gigantic table in the living room and I put there every dish and drink I could think of, just a huge assortment for whatever people's taste in food might be, I sent out invitations to all of my friends and left the door open for them. Then I came back home to find them all eating and drinking in my living room, enjoying the different dishes, chatting away happily... and most days, being disabled, I don't have the energy to join the buffet. I go and lie down to rest in my bed. But I can hear the chatter from the living room. And it makes me happy. It just makes me so, so happy.
Thank you for coming to my buffet, friends.

I see that “Latina” in your bio…😔 my Hispanic heart is craving a Hispanic! Reader x Abby or Ellie PLS
【 abby and ellie with a latina!reader hc's 】
Tumblr media
a/n: AKJSHFAKJEFNJAN i gotta do it for my latinas. okay to preface, i talk about learning/speaking spanish for a little bit, but i just want to mention that speaking spanish is not integral to latino/hispanic identity and there is nothing wrong at all with not being able to speak spanish. i just wanted to include it because i love learning languages and teaching someone spanish always makes me very happy/excited, so i thought i’d talk about it a little bit. not to mention not all latinos speak spanish as some of them even speak other languages bc latinidad is very diverse! i have hc’s included for those that don’t speak spanish so dw! i also included hc’s about learning portuguese and haitian creole :))
《 ABBY 》
abby is actually quite familiar with spanish because of her friendship with manny. she can speak a little with you, and is more than happy to learn more from you in order to fill in the gaps of what she doesn’t know.
we see in the game that she understands manny when he speaks in spanish to her, and she even uses spanish words here and there.
i feel like even if she were to struggle with speaking she is still really good at understanding.
abby is that one white partner who’s really good at spanish that you look at and think “okay white girl i see you😏”
if you never learned spanish from your family you asked manny to teach you and learned from him just like abby did.
she’s willing to learn about your culture from you and whatever traditions you may have had growing up so you can do them together; i feel like she’s especially interested in different sayings and dichos. but, of course, she’s also interested in swear words and slang.
if you aren’t mexican like manny, you two argue over which words are the right ones to use in front of her while she stares and wonders what the difference is and why it matters.
“i don’t get it. i mean, you both have your own ways of saying that word. what’s the point in arguing about it?”
“because, abby, who says that?”
“i do, cabrona!” manny yelled.
LOVES to be called spanish pet names because she thinks they’re so sweet and romantic, more than english ones (mi vida? mi alma? mi luz? mi mujer? they just have a sort of comfort and love that can’t be found in english)
if you are mexican, she is very familiar with mexican culture and spanish because of manny, so she has a sense of familiarity when you talk about your culture and experience.
if you’re brazilian, she is completely unfamiliar with portuguese but is so excited to learn more about it from you. it's something the two of you can share together, and that's what she loves the most about it.
if you’re haitian, she loves the sound of how you speak french and/or haitian creole and of course asks you to teach her. she thinks it’s important to understand and know the languages you speak if she’s in a committed relationship with you. they’re a part of who you are, so why wouldn’t she want to learn them for you?
learns how to make your favorite dishes because she feels it’s the least she can do; she wants to give you a piece of home because she knows how often you feel homesick and the way you mourn the pieces of your culture that have been lost due to the apocalypse.
listens when you tell her how you wish you could’ve gone to bailes like your mother and father did, that you never got the opportunity to listen to all the styles of music like they did, that there are certain foods you’ll never be able to try.
she listens and rubs your back and comforts you, knowing she has a mission to fulfill. she knows she’s just one person and can’t bring the world back to the way it was before, but she’ll do what she can to help to take away what parts of your pain she can. she asks people in the WLF if any of them have CD’s from the music genres you told her about like cumbia, salsa, bachata, reggaetón, even more traditional music. she goes as far as to go on a day mission to an old store manny’s dad said would have them, even borrowing whatever tapes she can from him.
《 ELLIE 》
she knows the few spanish words she’s always heard people throw around in casual conversation, but she’s never been able to speak or understand it because she’s never had extended exposure to it.
i feel like she’s really curious about the dialect of spanish you use (as in what kind of accent, noticing how sometimes you skip over s’s when you speak, or how maybe you use or sos or vos instead of tú, or that you use more slang/casual words over formal ones) she just wants to know all about it and understand it.
she may have trouble picking up on spanish especially when it comes to conjugation, but she’s still willing to try and wants to learn from you.
if you’re someone who uses spanglish more than just plain spanish, then i feel this is something she DEFINITELY picks up on more easily and uses regularly with you.
or if you’re someone who never got the opportunity to learn spanish but always wanted to, trust that she will somehow, some way, find books while out on patrol that you’ll both be studying from.
if you’re brazilian, she is immediately curious about portuguese and how to speak it. she learns from you earnestly and learns well enough to understand you perfectly even if she struggles with her pronunciation.
if you are mexican, ellie was very touched when she learned about día de los muertos. when she was finally in a better place and able to talk about joel’s death, she asks if she can put a photo of joel on the ofrenda, and even puts sarah’s photo up as well. it made you happy to see her talk about him and to honor him when it’s always been really hard for her.
ellie has always been curious about french but felt like she’d never have the opportunity to learn, but as soon as she hears you speak it she begs you to teach her. she’s more than happy to also learn haitian creole from you because she wants to speak it with you and it makes her happy that you want to share your culture with her.
asks you about any famous songs from your culture you like and scours music store after music store to find a CD or cassette in order to learn them on her guitar for you.
she surprises you one night when she’s practicing her guitar, playing it out of nowhere, and you felt your heart warm and your eyes tear up. it was so comforting and sweet to hear after you hadn’t in years. it meant the world to you.
(don't judge me but as someone who likes these nicknames) she would call you mama or mami if you ask her without hesitation. anything for her girl.
(let’s pretend this is before joel dies or that he never did) when she learns of colombian coffee and how your family used to love it, she IMMEDIATELY goes to ask joel if there’s any way to get her hands on it, to which he tells her that most likely not. he explains that the beans used to be grown in colombia, so there’s little chance of them getting their hands on it all the way in jackson unless they find some old, old, old coffee beans from before the outbreak. she’s literally crushed and doesn’t want to accept it.
if you guys have any more requests for latina!reader feel free to send them to my inbox <33

Chapter 1\ Chapter 2\ Chapter 3 \ Chapter 4 \ Chapter 5
Tumblr media
Few weeks have passed since the poison incident and life seems to have gone back to it’s normal course in the royal palace of Rhodolite.
MC seems to have all but forgotten about the incident and was smiling happily again. Or so it seemed.
Chevalier has noticed that MC, who usually liked desserts so much, has stopped eating them all together. She also seemed to be a lot more careful about her food.
That night again, he watched her push the Rose cheesecake plate away from her with an almost sad look on her face.
It didn’t seem like she was disgusted, more like scared or traumatized.
Of course, such a terrible incident could not have passed without leaving some marks. Even he, who was always admired for his mental fortitude was heavily impacted by the incident and had every dish that was served on her table inspected over and over again.
But this could not go on, MC was barely eating anything and this was starting to worry him. He deduced that since the root of the issue was sweets, he had to make her eat them again.
But how? A royal decree? That was certainly not it.
Maybe he could ask the help of a certain brother of his who was particularly good with baking treats of all sorts.
And so, the next morning, Chevalier stormed into the Domestic faction office looking for Yves.
The 5th prince only stared at him with wide eyes as the king sat in front of him on the sofa.
His older brother had never ever sought him out before. Honestly sometimes Yves thought Chevalier did not know his name.
There was a long silence in the big messy office before Chevalier finally said:
“Showoff, I need your help.”
Help? Chevalier needed HELP? and not anyone’s help, HIS help?
Licht, Leon and Jin all came and sat next to Yves, curious about whatever his majesty the king, a genius born every thousand years could ever need from the 5th prince.
Chevalier cleared his throat and started speaking
“Since the incident MC has not been eating very well, particularly desserts.”
“Oh no! she always seemed particularly fond of sweets, especially after her pregnancy.” Jin said, earning an impatient glare from Chevalier.
The king cleared his throat again, clearly disliking being interrupted before starting to speak once more: “It seems the poison incident heavily affected her. Showoff, you are a good baker and MC loves your sweet. Bake something for her.”
“I see! Poor MC! Very well! We shall have a cozy tea party! I’m sure MC would enjoy it! How about tomorrow afternoon, your majesty?” Yves said feeling bad for MC but happy that there was something he could do for his brother and beloved sister in law; Not that he’d ever admit it.
And so the men agreed and the next afternoon, Chevalier escorted MC to the rose garden.
“Where are we going, Chevalier? Are we going for a walk?”
Chevalier just squeezed her hand before leading her to a beautifully decorated dessert table full of all kinds of delicious treats. The princes, Sariel, Cecilia and Rio were all sitting already and only two chairs were empty.
As Chevalier led MC to her chair, the young queen was looking around, bewildered by all the diverse desert that were laid on the table.
As soon as MC was seated, Chevalier turned around on his heels and was walking away from the cozy garden party.
But before he could get any further he heard his wife's voice calling for him, when he turned around she patted the chair next to her, indicating for him to come sit.
“My presence would only sour the mood, simpleton. Enjoy your tea party. You can tell me all about it later.” He smiled at her.
“No way!” Clavis stood up and grabbed Chevalier by the arm.
“This tea party is to celebrate MC’s pregnancy and it would not feel complete without the baby’s father!” said Yves.
Jin grabbed Chevalier by the shoulder and dragged him toward his seat, next to MC who was smiling at the warm scene in front of her.
“We can assure you no one here is scared of you, your majesty” Sariel added.
Chevalier sighed “Ridiculous” before sitting next to his wife.
Everyone sat and Cecilia got up to serve everyone tea(herbal because MC was pregnant). Conversation was flowing smoothly but everyone’s attention was on MC who had not touched a single dish.
Suddenly silence fell as Yves stood up  and served MC a piece of her favorite cake.
She stared at it for a while before saying “I’m sorry Yves, I’m not very hungry.”
“MC, me and Licht got out together this morning to get the ingredients, we checked everything many times again, and nothing left our eyes for even a second. Everything here, including the tea was made by my own hand and no one but us touched anything. I can assure you this is not poisoned.”  Yves explained hoping this could appease her fears.
“It would make us very happy if you had a taste” Jin added.
“Yeah! Just have a bite and if ya don’t like it, you can stop!” Luke said.
After a few seconds, MC picked her fork and took a bite of the cake.  After chewing for a bit, she finally started crying.
“I’m sorry! I know I’m being overly dramatic! I was just so scared and I-” MC was practically sobbing.
“Your majesty, do not blame yourself for your feelings. Your fears and worries are valid and you should not demean them or feel sorry for them.” Cecilia grabbed MC’s hand.
MC finally let go and after a good while of crying, she was back to smiling and eating. The party continued in a warm atmosphere and Chevalier sat there wondering what the old him would think if he saw himself sitting with all his brothers drinking tea and laughing. Of course, Chevalier did not really participate in the conversation but he was actively listening.
He remembered MC telling him that she was going to teach him about all different types of love. Was this one of them? Fraternal love? Familial love?
He did not know, but he felt his face soften and he felt oddly at peace.
The party lasted for a couple of hours, and MC returned to her room feeling light and relaxed. Of course, her fear would not be solved in a single meal but this was a step toward recovery and it was good enough.
Before leaving, Chevalier turned toward his younger brother and said “This party was a good idea, good job, Yves.” Before leaving in a flutter of his cape.
All the prince stood there, shocked by the fact that Chevalier had finally called one of them, aside from Clavis, by his name.
It wasn’t long before the brothers started competing to have there Older\Younger brother call them by their names.
But that, is a story for another time.

On paper, it should have been a perfect match. Taste in music was the same, playlists practically identical. You had seen all the same movies, liked and disliked the same ones. Over the phone, you had shared many late nights - dimming your screen, talking low - just so you could make the most of your days. Chatting before the date, you could not wait to meet him.
But even as you sat across from him, admiring the outfit he wore and the bill he paid, you were thinking about the postmortem. It wasn’t that the date was bad on its own, but given all the build-up there had been, that was what really killed it. Not bad, just disappointing.
Yeah, he said all the right things. Here, let me take your jacket. You look so beautiful tonight. It’s great to finally meet you in person. All his sentiments made you glow.
But it wasn’t the feeling you got with Erwin.
// // //
Back at your apartment, Erwin tried to keep himself preoccupied. It was a day he had been dreading. All the times he heard you locked in your room late at night, chatting and giggling with the stud on the other end of the line, it was the only thing that could turn your angelic voice agonizing. Your nights spent as roommates, as friends, grew fewer and fewer - as you chose your cell over him.
He had exhausted all the coping strategies he could think of, and for a man of his wits, they were many. Timing his hangouts to overlap with your dates. Buying an expensive pair of noise-cancelling headphones. No matter how diverse his topics of conversation were, you always somehow managed to tie it back to your developing relationship. He’s so thoughtful, so funny...
When you went on and on about your newest match, Erwin learned to detach just enough. Uncharacteristically delusional for the man so ever composed - how he could hear himself in the words you spoke. He’s six feet tall. Drives a Mercedes. Works in finance. Erwin bit the inside of his cheek. Didn’t you hear yourself? Couldn’t you see? The man of your dreams was not in your future, but in your present. This very Saturday evening, awaiting your return home safe.
Erwin tilted his head back against the wall, palm pressed to his forehead, and allowed himself an audible sigh. Others found him so put-together, but there was one who had worked their way into his home, his heart, his most vulnerable spots, and could truly unravel him. Everyone else named him the smartest guy they knew, but he thought himself so stupid - for signing that lease with you, for thinking you could just be friends, for believing that his feelings would ever disappear. Erwin thought your habits of leaving mugs all around and piling laundry sky high would make him realize that you weren’t the one, but instead, the opposite. He longed to wash your dishes. He longed to fold your clothes. He wanted to be that person - Erwin clenched his fist - and no one else.
However, his own obstacle remained: he could hardly admit it to himself, let alone confess it to you.
And so, that was how he found himself here again. Sitting on the couch, waiting for you to come back, prepared as possible to hear you gush about this incredible date and this incredible guy.
But this time was different, and though he had not expected it, he was more than ready for the surprise you brought.
// // //
He could tell just by the way you opened the door. The key was lazily pushed into the lock, the door slowly nudged open. On the front mat, you toed off your shoes and hung up your coat. A far cry from the enthusiasm you left with.
Earlier than expected, too. Erwin checked his watch. Only 7:30, you had left at 6:00. Must not have been that great, but don’t let yourself jump to conclusions. He had done so and fallen many times before. He fumbled for the TV remote and flipped whatever on, covering up the evidence of how long he had sat here daydreaming.
When you turned the corner, your hair was undone, your outfit disheveled, as if you just didn’t care anymore. Still, as always, he found you beautiful. “Hey,” a strained smile, “everything alright?”
“Eh,” you shrugged, tossing your wallet and keys onto the coffee table, indifferent. “Coulda been better.”
Erwin pinched himself, attempting to subdue his dire curiosity. A desire to hear all the date’s shortcomings juxtaposed with his compassion - not to make you run it back.
His lips parted, preparing to speak, but you closed your eyes and unknowingly cut him off, “Can we just - have a roomie night?” Hand scratched the back of your neck, his breath caught in his throat, “The two of us? It’s been too long.”
The only man you could rely on. The one who would always be there for you in whatever way you needed him. Sitting through junk TV and three-hour documentaries, never complaining. Playing video games together, always knowing when to let you win and when to give you a challenge. Tonight, he once again composed your perfect care package. Homemade popcorn, organic smoothies, a Netflix marathon. Transporting you from sadness to happiness - the song of your laughter filling the room - that was how it was supposed to be.
Over the night, your jokes and giggles were spaced more sparsely apart. Erwin began to worry that your dating woes were overtaking your thoughts, but instead, he leaned over to find you soundly asleep. Your head had landed just beside his thigh, your arm draped over the edge of the sofa, parallel to his shin. A blush complemented his pale skin, blonde hair, but he departed before you had the chance to see it - just to bring you the pajamas he had just gotten done folding and a fresh mug of sleepy tea.
It was his greatest joy - to be what you needed: roommate, friend, a distraction to all those disastrous dates. Any of those roles, it was his honor to fulfill. And someday, you would realize, that there was no use in meeting potentials - for the whole package was already in your hands and wrapped around your finger.

Traits: Vegetarian, Jealous, Materialistic Aspiration: Chief of Mischief Career: Scientist
Rules:
Master scientist career and complete Chief of Mischief aspiration
Master mischief and logic skills
Complete elements collection
Meet Thea Mint: Unconventional Sim with a Twist 👽
In the vibrant world of Sims, where each character boasts a unique tale, there's one sim who stands out amidst the pixelated crowd – Thea Mint. She's not your typical sim; she's a blend of quirks and complexities that make her journey through the Not So Berry challenge truly captivating.
A Glimpse into Thea's World 👽
From the moment you meet Thea, her aura exudes an unconventional charm. As the protagonist of my Not So Berry challenge, Thea Mint arrived in SimTown with a whirlwind of aspirations and ambitions. Little did I know, she would become the cornerstone of my Simverse adventures.
The Complexities of Thea Mint 👽
Thea is not your run-of-the-mill sim. Her traits – vegetarian, jealous, and materialistic – paint a colorful canvas of contradictions. Yet, it's precisely these traits that make her such a fascinating character to navigate through the game.
"I'm telling you, Stacy, being a vegetarian isn't just about the food. It's about living in harmony with nature. Plus, have you seen the vibrant colors of those veggie dishes? They're like a work of art on my plate!"
While her vegetarian lifestyle reflects her compassionate side, her bouts of jealousy add an unexpected twist to her relationships.
"I saw you talking to Jacob at the bar last night. Don't try to deny it. I may not have eyes in the back of my head, but I've got friends who keep me informed."
And let's not forget her materialistic tendencies, which inject a dash of luxury into her everyday pursuits.
"Who needs a basic sofa when you can have this plush, velvet one that screams sophistication? It's not just furniture; it's a statement piece, darling."
Aspirations and Career Path 👽
One might assume that a sim with such diverse traits would have a scattered focus, but not Thea. Her aspiration to become the Chief of Mischief is a testament to her mischievous spirit and her thirst for adventure.
"I've always had a knack for stirring up trouble. Why not make a career out of it? Besides, what's life without a little excitement, right?"
Coupled with her career as a Scientist, Thea's journey is nothing short of extraordinary. From conducting groundbreaking experiments in the lab to stirring up mischief in the neighborhood, she embraces each challenge with gusto.
Navigating Parenthood and Divorce 👽
Despite her busy schedule, Thea is also a devoted mother. With one child to care for, she juggles the demands of parenthood alongside her career aspirations.
"Mommy, can we have a picnic in the backyard today? I promise I'll eat all my veggies!"
However, her journey as a parent hasn't been without its hurdles. Thea navigated the tumultuous waters of divorce, emerging stronger and more resilient than ever before.
"It wasn't easy, but sometimes you have to make tough choices for the sake of your own happiness. And let's face it, I'm too fabulous to settle for anything less than extraordinary."
It's a testament to her character – she faces adversity head-on, refusing to let it dim her sparkle.
Thea Mint: A Sim Worth Rooting For 👽
As I continue to guide Thea through the twists and turns of her Not So Berry challenge, one thing becomes abundantly clear – she's more than just a sim. She's a reflection of resilience, complexity, and the unwavering spirit of adventure.
"Who says sims can't have it all? I've got dreams to chase, mischief to make, and a whole lot of love to give. Watch out, Newcrest – Thea Mint is here to conquer!"

💬 Soompi: A Good Day To Be A Dog Stars Dish On Their Characters’ MBTIs, What Dog Breeds They Would Be (Park Gyuyoung Cut)
Tumblr media
What do you think is the MBTI of your “A Good Day to Be a Dog” character?
- ENFJ. Hae Na is extroverted, and she imagines this and that by herself. She is full of emotions, and she is good at empathizing. She also tends to plan things out, so I want to say she is ENFJ.
What is a memorable or fun memory from filming that you can share with fans?
- In a scene where Cha Eunwoo was filming with a dog, he filmed with liquid-type dog treats on his lips because he had to kiss the dog. I think everyone filmed it while holding back their laughter.
🗨 Cha Eunwoo: I became really close with Park Gyuyoung and Lee Hyunwoo, whom I worked together with the most, so we laughed and joked around together a lot...
Is there anything special you did to interact with the dogs starring on “A Good Day to Be a Dog”?
- Rather than trying to get close to dogs, I think everyone worked hard to create a safe and comfortable environment for the dogs to film.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you were to become an actual teacher, what subject would you feel most confident about teaching, and what subject would you feel least confident about?
- I think I could teach math well because it is a subject with clearly defined answers. It is also the subject that I studied hard during my school days.
How would you spend your time if you become a dog for a day?
- I would want to spend a simple yet eventful day, eating, sleeping, and going for a walk. These are very simple activities, but I believe these activities are difficult to do attentively every day. [I want] to eat very well, to walk very well, and to sleep very well.
If you were to become a dog, which breed do you think you would become or would you like to be?
- I want to be a Jindo dog (indigenous dog native to Jindo in South Korea) that looks good-natured and also appears to be easygoing.
Tumblr media
What does your cast usually talk about in your group chat? Which actor is the most active?
- Although there is a group chat, we only exchange simple greetings and photos. Instead, there are more things to talk about when we meet in person because we are similar in age.
🗨 Lee Hyunwoo: The most active person is Gyu Young. Gyu Young usually posts photos in the group chat and checks on us first, so we sometimes talk together through the chat.
Which actor tends to bring the most energy on set?
- All the actors created a good atmosphere in their own ways, but I want to say that actor Yoon Hyun Soo who plays Yul brought the most energy. His existence alone is lovable and he exuded adorable energy, so I remember the set always becoming brighter [with his presence].
🗨 Cha Eunwoo: Everyone brought energy to set because the set was filled with actors who are around the same age. If I had to choose, since actors Park Gyu Young and Lee Hyun Woo were similar in age to me and we joked around a lot whenever we met, I think the three of us were the most fun on set.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What kind of comments or reviews do you hope to hear from “A Good Day to Be a Dog” viewers?
- I hope to hear that this is a drama that makes them feel good from just watching. All the actors and staff worked hard on filming so that the viewers could feel happy.
What criteria do you take into consideration when choosing acting projects?
- Usually, I choose characters that can show different vibes from the character from my previous project. While acting various characters, I want to start out on a clean slate, and I think it’s one of my routines to accept a new character. It’s also a personal ambition to showcase diverse sides to viewers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you have your own way of getting closer to your co-stars when beginning a new project?
- I believe naturally is the best way. Since all actors are present in different ways on set, we are all each present in our most natural selves on set, and we gradually become closer while being slightly considerate of each other to make each other comfortable.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
- I do the exercise that I feel like doing at the time, and then I stay at home doing nothing. Whether it is ballet, weight training, or pilates, doing the exercise that I feel like doing that day and then resting at home is the greatest hobby and routine to me.
What is something new that you want to learn one day?
- I learned how to play the bass guitar to play a character, but after filming ended, I didn’t have the opportunity to learn. If I get the chance, I want to learn to play the bass guitar some more.
Tumblr media
Please share any TMI about yourself for fans!
- I ate salted butter rolls while watching “Street Woman Fighter 2.” This is truly too much information, right?
Please share a word for international fans who are tuning in to “A Good Day to Be a Dog”!
- 'A Good Day to Be a Dog” is a drama filled with adorable and lovable charms that you feel from just watching. I hope that the viewers anticipate this a lot, and I hope viewers receive good energy through this drama. It is already the second half of 2023, so I hope viewers enjoyably spend the rest of 2023 with “A Good Day to Be a Dog.”

i need to know so badly what american culture means to you
i am happy you asked!
i don’t want to sound like an america stan— we definitely are The Worst in a lot of ways— but america is one of the most diverse countries in the world. and additionally every state, and every county within every state, is wildly diverse too.
i’ll try to somewhat organize my thoughts:
sports like football, baseball, cheerleading, volleyball, skateboarding, snowboarding, basketball. and obviously the culture surrounding sports that stems from those, namely football.
fashion like blue jeans, street wear style, motorcycle jackets, cowboy attire (which is generally all throughout north and south america), and the plethora of traditional native dress.
our school system in general has its own culture with prom, the dress codes, marching bands, bring your tractor to school day, spirit week.
music with jazz, blues, rock n roll, hip hop, country, surf, bluegrass, gospel, disco.
foods like soul food, tex-mex, cajun, american chinese. specific foods like chicago deep dish pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, hard shell tacos, s’mores, pbj, blt, coke and pepsi, and fry bread (y’all it’s so good. please try it when you have the chance.)
cultures like appalachian, western desert, creole, cajun, surf, skate, chicano, tejano, the numerous native cultures that are still very much alive, and so many more.
and then stuff like drive in theaters, regional accents and dialect, comic books, barbecues, tailgating, greek life, modern halloween, rodeo, county fairs, mardi gras, and pow wows.
a lot of american culture comes from our black and native populations, as well as from the immigrants that helped and continue to help make this country. we’re called the “melting pot” for a reason and that’s one of the things i do love about my country.
it’s always bugged me that so many people just write it all off as nothing— even people in america write it off. these influences aren’t nothing. there are rich cultures all across america; cultures that are from specific regions, cultures that are nationwide, and then cultures that north and south america share.

pasta, me starting to read the new chapter, see the word “naan” reading further AND SEEING JANE ACTUALLY USES HER HANDS TO EAT if it’s not obvious im ethnically *south* Indian so even tho most of the times indian food ends up being stuff from northern india, im still happy for any representation if that makes any sense- that being said, what’s your favorite dish? Also did you know that South Indian foods are primarily vegetarian and there’s lots of tasty as fuck shit you won’t find on a northern indian menu????
Aaaaah I'm so happy you enjoyed that! Eating with your hands and the naan bread was how I was taught to eat it the first time a friend introduced me to Indian food, so I was hoping that was accurate! 😅 And I totally get being excited to see a piece of that in a fic! In a place like NYC, one of the lovely things about it is you can get anything there since the city's so diverse. It's a massive melting pot and I try to show that in the food everyone's eating in the fic and i'm now living it since i've moved to a big city and can try EVERYTHING.
I did NOT it was primarily vegetarian but this makes SO much sense cause I've definitely spotted the difference between the menus! And as a vegetarian I'm always happy to not get a 'uuuh we have... a leaf we found outside? Vegetarians eat leaves right? You're an herbivore, we'll get you some leaves, TEDDY GO OUT AND SHAKE THE TREE AND GET SOME LEAVES.' And now I'm finally in a big city again that actually has both Northern and Southern Indian restaurants, including a south style like 2 mins away (old town had none, and closest town only had 2 northern Indian places, so I mostly only got southern when I was traveling). Favorite might be paneer chettinad, I could eat that all day, oh my god. 😩 OR MASALA DOSAS, holy SHIT those are good. Tried those at a street festival while traveling and I swear I ascended, turned my ass back around and ordered a second round, I need more. Still hunting for some here but I'm optimistic! I'm also happy to hear any recommendations if you have favorites. I'm slowly working through all the local southern places and their menus and there is so gd much to choose from now that I can access it. 😂

axelle judges bl shows > Zenra Meshi
summary: Souta leads a boring salary man life. When he inherits his grandma's house in the countryside, he meets Mahiro, who helps him cook recipes from his grandma's cookbook.
where to watch: dramacool
grade: 6/10
pros:
I always like the countryside setting in any show, so this was very pleasant.
I loved the representation of dishes from around the world, and was happy to see a taiwanese character in the countryside which made the show feel slightly more diverse. also love the two out gays supporting each other & being bffs!
the mahiro actor, whom I love from cherry magic & I will do it in the next life, literally has my whole heart & he just carried the show for me :) but also to be fair, the souta actor has some of the most captivating eyes ever & his overall look was fascinating. I just wish they'd been given better material.
cons:
for what should've been a simple & wholesome show, they tried to make it far too complicated to fill the 12 episodes, when the show should have never been that long.
similarly, the writing wasn't so good tbh, and most characters weren't that likable by the end of the show bc of the nonsensical choices they made.
this contained one of the most annoying female characters in a while for a bl, which was kinda disappointing. she's such a pushover & really selfish, and her ending up with her creepy boss that was using the power imbalance between them to try & seduce her was honestly disheartening. I thought at this point bl writers had understood that if you're not gonna give somewhat good roles to your female bl characters, you shouldn't even write them into the plot in the first place, but oh well.
honestly the chemistry was really stilted & lowkey some of the worst I've seen from a jbl in a while, and I think it's mostly from the writing.
would I rewatch it: no
This had some potential to be wholesome & cute, but truly became more & more dumb and annoying as time passed by.

As a team manager it's my job to motivate my team and help them in every which way possible. Never giving up is essential to being a Team Manager, if you want the spirit.
Tumblr media
YOU GOTTA SHOW THE SPIRIT!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!!!
Tumblr media
And you gotta make sure your Team is fully and we rested, so if they need a break you gotta give them a break! Overworking your body will just cause problems! And then your body wont be able to comprehend all the pressure and strength your forcing out and you'll hit the floor!
Tumblr media
Its why I hated school, during P.E if we needed a break they'd make us do extra. That aint healthy in the slightest.
Tumblr media
You gotta make sure your team always does these things: Rest, Stay well hydrated, and Eat. And dont forget Shit. Shitting is very important.
Tumblr media
And if you wanna train your team to the max start off slow, give them plenty of breaks, and start working your way up, give them tasks to fulfill at home, obviously make 'em record it so you know they aint slacking. But making them do just the little things like going on a walk everyday for fifteen minutes, keeping that up really helps your body, obviously your legs will hurt, but thats from your old muscles breaking creating newer stronger muscles. And resting really helps that. You gotta take care of your team like they're your family, like a second family.
Tumblr media
Guess thats just about it for me! Gonta?
Tumblr media
Gonta will tell you all about Entomology! And why Bugs are really our friends!
Tumblr media
I know you have arachnophobia Teru so this will help, although some spiders can be venomous they'll only ever bite if they feel threatened if you very gentle and careful with Spider, Spider will simply crawl on palm. Most spiders arent venomous at all, and they really help our houses, they keep away food flies and wasps that try and sting us, and they very friendly and do no harm at all. Most bugs are actually very friendly, like: Centipedes, Stink bugs, Ladybugs, Mantis, Earwigs, Ground beetle, Dragon flies, Silver fish, Crickets, Tachinid flies, Camel crickets, Braconid wasps, Lacewing, Soldier beetles, Cicadas, Walking sticks, Spined soldier bug, Minute pirate bugs, Roly polies, Nabidae, and Mealworms too! All very kind bugs! All our friends too!
Tumblr media
You should come with Gonta and meet Gontas friends soon!! Gonta would be very happy to introduce you to all of Gontas bug friends!
Tumblr media
Maybe during a time when I feel like it. At the moment, I'm not too keen.
Tumblr media
As a chef my responsibilities are very diverse. There's a multitude of qualities that are a must when working in the culinary industry.
•  An absolute passion for food and cooking; •    A total commitment to cleanliness and personal hygiene; •    An ability to work under pressure; •    Time management skills; •    A balanced calm temperament and an ability to maintain equanimity in difficult situations; •    An acute sense of business so as to rake in profits for the organization; •    Good health so that one can spend long hours on their feet, lift heavy pots and pans, work in proximity to fire and heat; •    The ability to take criticism; •    The ability to work as a team member and mentor others once they become experienced enough; •    Has to have the flexibility to take the unconventional hours that the trade demands;
It's also important to have a very keen memory. I've made it my sworn duty to memorize not just recipes, but also my dear friends and families most favorite dishes. All their likes and dislikes are always stored in the back of my mind when needed, or written in note cards. Culinary is what you make it to be. You could take a calm slow and steady approach like with those nearby bakeries, cafes, and other various types of small stores. Or you could take on the big restaurants where business is always booming and you're constantly on your toes. Whatever seems to work for you. At times it's not easy, but nothing worth wild is ever really easy is it?

Autumn writerblr questions
🎃 pumpkin: My favorite brainstorming technique is the one where I write it down on a notebook, in an outline. And make sure that it makes sense. Its filled with bullet points in the outline and such .
🍂 leaves: My editing process is pretty messy. I like to write out chapters and then edit them or edit them after two to three chapters. Its a pretty messy process. Although it helps that I have an app to help me. Otherwise I ask my friends or family.
☕ coffee or tea: Their favorite place to relax is either a cafe, a diner or her book nook.
🧥 warm coat: A happy scene would be when shes with her little brother laughing at random stupid inside jokes that they've had since they were small.
🍎 apple: Her best friend lives in a different kingdom, the kingdom always trapped in winter. There are no friendships that turned sour yet. My main character and her best friend is very close.
👻 ghost: Two people a woman and a teen boy. The boy is an android and he can control electronics and metals. They live in a dystopian world. Broken between two people. The mortals and the immortals.
🌧️ rain: My current WIP has a scene where the main character witnesses her parents death and it brings her to her knees. Because she loves them. So now its just her and her brother. And she is forced to become the head of her family.
🥧 pie: The food in the WIP I'm working on is pretty diverse. Depending on what kingdom and what is avabile. Like in the kingdom always trapped in winter the most famous is a snow cone of a flavor they make up. The most coolest happens in the second book and its when they are in the autumn kingdom. The most famous dish is a hackleberry pie that is made.
🍬 candy: A fluffy scene is when the main character is with her brother, watching him laugh along with their younger brother figure and her thinking that shes lucky to have them both. Since they are the only family that she has left.
🌙 moon: The main character has a dark backstory and also a huge secret that she keeps.
@ashen-crest made this questions. So all of these questions belong to them. If you want to try look at their blog.

Interview Intro: "I'm not big on cameras and filming, so let's make this quick."
Blind Spot: "Hmm... probably the fact that I get annoyed easily. Little things have a habit of pushing me over the edge. I've been trying to work on it."
Greatest Strength: "I guess the fact that I'm a skilled chef counts. I only need to taste a dish once to know how it's made."
Sin: The chef sighs before taking a puff of his cigarette. "'Wrath', unfortunately. It's not that I don't fly off the handle. But I have a very hard time keeping my patience with things that annoy me. What makes it worse is that sometimes I don't voice it, which makes me feel even worse."
Virtue: "Hmm... probably 'Diligence'. Karada's to thank for that, really. He has a habit of making people invigorated, and I guess that rubbed off on me."
Worst Memory: The chef takes another puff of his cigarette, before sighing again. "...I don't know if I'd call it a bad memory, but... I think my worst one was when I found out my parents were cheating on each other. ...And what's worse, both of them knew it and didn't care. It took a lot of time for me to get over that."
Best Memory: "Ha, that's one easy to remember. It was when I finally received some semblance of a parents' love. Granted, it wasn't from my parents, but from my grandmother. But just knowing there was some person out there who was part of my family that actually loved and cared for me... it made me feel really happy."
Worst Regret: "I don't typically waste my time with regrets or misfortunes. I've learned earlier in life that whatever happens, happens. ...But I think my worst regret is the fact that I learned about faith and religion too late. My grandmother is the one who instilled in me what faith was, and the belief that there is something... a lot more powerful and spiritual out there watching over us. I wish I had known about that earlier on. If I had, maybe my childhood and my time in high school wouldn't have been so bad."
Most Precious Treasure: "Definitely my Abuela. She's a priceless treasure that I cannot ever replace. Everything she's done for me, every word she's ever said, every little thing that's made me feel loved. ...I can't put into words what all that means to me."
Trauma Image: In a small-sized mansion in the city of Aoyama, a man with a scowl on his face was on the second floor on the rooftop, silently staring out at the horizon as the sun was slowly setting. He liked this time of the day as it gave him time to think. But sometimes, his thoughts turned towards the past; mainly, back to his childhood. His eyes closed, he recalled memories he wish he could forget: how he felt largely ignored by his parents, how they posed as the perfect couple in public, but in private, they despised each other and paid no attention to him. He recalled how he was always dressed up like some doll to be shown off to guests. He recalled how he got in numerous fights and squabbles with people his own age who made fun of him for his skin color. He recalled it all... and he hated it.
Reopening his eyes, he wondered why his eyes were blurry. Was... was he crying? Why? Growling, he stubbed his cigarette out and laid his head in his arms on the stone ledge that his mansion was made out of, continuing his scowling and brooding. He changed his mind... he hated this time of the day.
Aspirations for D.R.B.: "None. Absolutely none at all. This tournament serves to benefit no one, except the ones in charge. Honestly, if not for Karada begging me to join him and Tomi, I wouldn't even have joined. What good does having more money or territory do? Nothing."
Thoughts on Competition: "I'll say this for Chuohku. They certainly have an eye for talent. I don't know if they keep tabs on every single person in each division, but the people they've seen HypMics to are certainly interesting, to say the least. And the teams they've created are diverse. No team is exactly the same as another, yet they're not exactly different either."
Team You Want to Face: "CodeX from Shinagawa, only because I want to put that uppity CEO in her place. I know Tomi's friends with her, but I'm not. ...And maybe also Shattered Moon from Takatsuki."
Who Would You Team With If You Weren't Part of Your Team: "It's hard to think of a team without Tomi or Karada, unfortunately. Despite how annoying they are, they're my friends and I can't really see being in a team without them. ...But if it were only a temporary alliance, then: Rashaad from Okinawa, Hiroshi from Harajuku, and... maybe Lana from Kyoto, or Aiko from Takatsuki."
Who Wouldn't You Team With: "No one affiliated with Chuohku. And definitely not that uppity wench from Shinagawa. ...And also not Ryoko from Takatsuki."
What does music, particularly hip-hop, mean to you: "Music is all about passion. It is expression in its highest form. When you add words to a song, you're creating art. And when your art is shown to others, you are, more or less, changing someone's life. For the better or the worse."
What's your latest obsession: "Well... recently I've started to get into watching novellas on T.V. My grandmother got me into them. Some of them are a little corny and have been redone a million times, but some of them are actually pretty good. ...Laugh, and I'll kill you."
What were you like as a child, or what was your dream as a child: "Honestly when I was younger, I was pretty much the same as I am now: a quiet guy just trying to get through each day. I didn't really have any friends cause most people were either scared of me or shied away from me. So up until high school, I spent my time just alone with my thoughts.
"As for my dream, I really wanted to do something that had to do with my Hispanic background. I'm not sure what. I can't really recall. ...Doesn't really matter. I'm a chef now, and that's better than any other job I could have chosen."
Lastly, any final remarks or comments to your fans: "...Not really. Just keep living the way you choose, and you'll be fine. Thanks for the talk."

Cultivate Your Own Pokeweed: An In-Depth Guide to Planting, Nurturing, and Harvesting Your Crop
Tumblr media
Growing pokeweed is a rewarding experience as it can be used in a variety of dishes. The plant tastes like asparagus when young, and has a sharp, spinach-like flavor when older. The plant is famous for making pink dye for fabrics and for its food uses, as the immature shoots and leaves can be boiled and used as an asparagus-like side dish when combined with butter, salt and pepper. The fruit of the pokeweed can also be eaten as a wild spinach if gathered when young and tender.
How to Grow Your Own Pokeweed: A Fun and Rewarding Adventure
Are you ready to embark on a wild, leafy journey? Look no further, my friends, because today we're diving into the world of growing pokeweed. This quirky plant is like the rebellious teenager of your garden, and I'm here to guide you through the process of planting, caring for, and harvesting your very own pokeweed. Trust me, it's a ride you won't want to miss!
Now, before we begin, let me tell you a little secret. I wasn't always a pokeweed expert. In fact, I was once an amateur just like you, dreaming of a lush garden filled with vibrant greens. But through trial and error, I discovered the wonders of this unique plant, and now I'm here to share my wisdom with you.
1. Choosing the Perfect Spot
When it comes to finding a home for your pokeweed, location is key. This plant thrives in sunny or partially shaded areas, so choose a spot that gets at least a few hours of sunlight each day. And here's a tip: pokeweed loves to spread its roots, so make sure you leave plenty of space for it to grow.
2. Planting Your Pokeweed
Once you've found the perfect spot, it's time to get your hands dirty! Dig a hole that's about twice the size of the pokeweed root ball, and gently place it in the hole. Remember to water it generously, giving it a good soak to help it settle into its new home.
3. Caring for Your Pokeweed
Now that your pokeweed is snug in the ground, it's time to show it some love. Keep the soil moist, but not overly saturated, as pokeweed doesn't like to have soggy feet. And here's a pro tip: adding a layer of mulch around the base of the plant will help retain moisture and keep those pesky weeds at bay.
4. Harvesting Your Pokeweed
Ah, the moment we've all been waiting for – harvest time! Once your pokeweed is about 3-4 feet tall, it's ready to be picked. Remember, though, *only harvest the young shoots and leaves* as the older parts of the plant can be toxic if consumed. Get creative in the kitchen with pokeweed salads, stews, or even pokeberry pie!
Remember, though, *only harvest the young shoots and leaves* as the older parts of the plant can be toxic if consumed.
And there you have it, my fellow green thumbs-in-training. Growing your own pokeweed is an adventure that's bound to bring joy and excitement to your gardening journey. So, roll up your sleeves, grab your gardening gloves, and let's get started! Oh, and if you want to dive deeper into the world of plants, check out this fascinating article on the diverse wonders of the plant kingdom. Happy growing!
