Jakurai: Hifumi-kun, Doppo-kun. I thank you for coming all this way to help make our curry. Time is of the essence, so let us begin right away.

Hifumi: Okie dokie!! I’ve got a bunch of ingredients here, so we can make whatever kind of curry we want!

Jakurai: Oh my! It does indeed look like a supermarket sized collection.

Doppo: And if there’s anything missing, please just say the word and I’ll run out to buy it!

Hifumi: So we got chicken, beef, pork, lamb and venison! And I even bought seafood and veggies, but I can’t decide on what main ingredient should be!

Jakurai: With this curry battle, it’s to be expected that the other divisions’ quirks will present itself in their curry.

Doppo: So then… what would be our trait?

Hifumi: Well, that’s obvs gotta be “finacially secure adults,” right?

Doppo: “Financially Secure Adults’ Curry” … Then, should we use this high-class sea urchin?

Jakurai: Yes, let’s. And… I would like to use something that makes one think of Shinjuku.

Hifumi: Great idea~! Something like our glimmering neon lights~!

Doppo: “Glimmering Neon Curry” …? D-do any of these ingredients light up??

Hifumi: Heehee~ I thought something like this would come up, so I brought some gold luster dust!!

Jakurai: It will surely be beautiful as a finish.

Hifumi: Chan-Doppo, you gotta let me know what you think too~!

Doppo: B-But it’s not like I have any cooking sense…

Jakurai: Doppo-kun. This is a curry to be made by the three of us. Therefore, you’re indispensable.

Doppo: I-Is that so…?

Jakurai: Of course. Please do not feel hesitant; let’s make this curry together.

Doppo: Um… If it’s okay, I really would like meat to be in the curry…

Hifumi: Cool!! What kinda meat??

Doppo: We’re trying for a sense of luxury, so I guess we should use beef, but some people don’t like beef… So, I guess chicken would be the safest choice? No, but it has to be something special, so we should use game meats right…?? Aaaargh, this is too hard, I can’t make up my mind!!

Hifumi: Woah?? But don’t take it out on the meat??

Jakurai: …How fascinating.

Hifumi: Eh?

Jakurai: A doctor, a host, and a salaryman are certainly on different corners of society… And yet, somehow, life has brought us together. I feel that this is the appeal of Shinjuku Division.

Doppo: I see! So then we should… Um, what should we do?

Hifumi: We should go with this!!

Doppo: We’re using all the meat??

Hifumi: Heh heh~!! We’re going to combine these land meats and sea meats and make it work!! It’ll be like we're making the Curry Division!!

 Jakurai: Haha. I hope we’ll be able to create a harmony of it, just like ours as Matenrou.

Jakurai: It has quite the impact. As for the taste…

Doppo: It’s so good!!! None of the ingredients are overpowering, but it still tastes like fine dining…!!

Hifumi: Heh heh~!! Obviously it’s because we only used the finest! If we sold this at a restaurant, you’d have to pay yen in the tens of thousands!!

Doppo: That can’t be the price?? Who would buy our curry??

Hifumi: Welp, I think that’s something the curry battle producers are gonna have to think about! …But, what’s up, Doc? You’re making a weird face over there.

Jakurai: I must apologize to the both of you. I have overlooked the most important aspect I wanted to include.

Doppo: W-What was it?

Jakurai: For this curry battle, I wanted to stress the importance of eating meals to maintain health. This curry is far too high in cholesterol, fats and in purines….

Hifumi: And using butter rice probably isn’t helping keeping that calorie count down…

Jakurai: If we continue to eat this, I fear gout and obesity would be imminent.

Doppo: That’s horrible!! I can’t believe we created something that dangerous…!!

Jakurai: This curry is a masterpiece. However, if it’s alright, can we create something else from a healthier standpoint?

Hifumi: Can do! But we kinda used up all our ingredients in that first batch…

Doppo: ...Ah! We still have these left!

Jakurai: Canned chickpeas and canned tomatoes…!!

Hifumi: Way to go, Doppochin!! If we use these, our curry’s bound to be healthy, right??

Jakurai: Yes. Beans are rich in dietary fibers and in protein and tomatoes have antioxidant benefits. This curry will surely be a healthy dish.

Doppo: A curry that’s conscious of health is still something of an adult appeal, right?

Jakurai: And to support everyone’s busy day to day lives, this meal will heal the mind and body. Victory is sure to be set with our “Health Conscious Curry”!

because i want to. because i want there to be an explanation for what im saying on here without having to state every time i make a post abt smth "yes i have this thing im talking abt". because i like ppl knowing where I'm coming from. because its important to me that people who have similar or same disorders see other ppl w them bc it can be a lonely isolating scary experience to have specific disorders, esp when ur a minor and unable to share for your own safety. because i want the other alters in the system have a space to talk because this isnt My life, it's Ours, and we're all a part of each other, and I'd like this to be a space they can talk as themselves without having to hide. because i like to be available for questions if people want to learn. because I have nowhere else safe enough other than tumblr of all places to be my disordered self. because this started as a safeish place for me to express myself before i even knew i had anything other than GAD and depression and wasn't aware yet that i was/am living in an abusive home, and continues to be that safe-enough space, and that means i will disclose disorders if i so choose for my own reasoning if it feels relevant to cultivating my space here.

Hey wouldn't it be so cool if women and girls actually got treatment

IDK.im just thinking of when I could have had a serious medical situation with my asthma in gym and idk maybe it could've led me being in the ER or my death bed I don't fucking know, thankfully I got better because I had my inhaler!!!

But I told my gym teacher that "hey lol I'm having a lot of trouble breathing and I feel horrible" and he just said "okay just walk for now" and I'm like?? I can't fucking walk when my breathing isn't working y'know the thing that makes the blood and heart work

When I did have a huge asthma attack, one of the things is that I couldn't barely walk, it was hard for me to do simple functions like eat and drink because my body literally refused it and I got better because I went to the ER and got a shot that helped me along with a mask breath thingy (i forgot what theyre called 💔)

So.im just tired of men not like, actually giving a shit, I'm so tired of people telling me that I'm lazy or I'm complaining too much, I am disabled and i wish asthma wasn't the butt of the joke a lot of the times because it leads people to think we are dramatic or not fun

okayokayokayokay so pretty much all of these questions will be Officially Answered properly in the character design/intro pages im working on but also i am physically vibrating with excitement about the fact that you noticed all these details and i have very little self control so! lore dump time!!!

(minor tw for mentions of leos self-harm/self-destructive anxious behaviors and unhealthy coping skills)

- mikey does indeed have curly fur! i believe he would be considered a 'rex' rat (pictured on the left) for this trait? though the curls can be more easily seen on mice (pictured on the right). or, at least it seems that way. have not delved too deeply into the details of rodent genes and husbandry, but id assume its the same sort of mutation considering curly haired mice are also referred to as rex sometimes? either way hes a extra floofy bby 🧡

-as for raphie, unfortunately being more fluff and less shell than the average rapheal comes with its downsides. especially if you and your brothers occasionally encounter things like territorial dogs, hungry cats, or sewer crocodiles while exploring places ur dad said not supposed to go. (most of his scars will have more ninja related stories, but his ear i think got messed up from something very animal. probably around age 11 ish? old enough to sneak out from dads protection but young enough to not fully know how to handle himself alone against real danger. thankfully his ear injury looks worse than it actually is for the most part, as the damage was largely to the outer ear. his hearing wasnt super affected, except that he now has a bit of a harder time being able to track/pinpoint noises origins if its on his right side.)

-also yep! dons got some glasses that just clip/rest on the bridge of his nose! theyre mostly just for home use, as they do fall off if hes knocked around. in the field he has some goggles he tends to use (theyre helpful as they have multiple additional functions like heat-imaging, extra zoom/telescoping, and recording capabilities. but also theyll give him headaches if he wears them for too long without breaks). contacts are theoretically also an option but he absolutely hates the sensation of putting them in. so sometimes when hes tired he'll just not bother with either clips or goggles and just squint and struggle. leo hates when he does that lol.

-speaking of leo, he is def an anxious baby :) he has a few patches of fur missing on his hand cos he has the tendency to tug on it while hes thinking. he yanked and chewed on his own tail a lot when he was younger too, which is why when hes older he usually wears some wraps to cover the scars left from that behavior. he finds those scars specifically to be kinda embarrassing and shameful because they werent from any battle or life-lesson, just his own 'inability to control himself'. all of his brothers have repeatedly called him out on the fact that that is not a healthy way to think about his anxiety or mental health, but leo insists hes fine. hes kinda convinced himself that a proper warrior always has control over his own body* and his own thoughts, thus he should be able to just like willpower-brute-force his way into 'being better'. (this line of thinking pisses raph off so much he has to leave and go hit something)

Splinter also tries to talk him through some of that internalized guilt/shame/everything, but splinters very metaphorical, poetic, and indirect when it comes to talking about Big Things, which combined with how much leo gets caught in his own head, makes it kinda hard to gauge how much these talks actually help

*this is made extra fun considering leos also ftm trans, so he is faced with a body that fundamentally disobeys him perhaps more than the average rat-man.

-and im still going back and forth between a few species for splinter, but im leaning mostly towards an African Spurred Tortoise! they have these beautiful if kinda subtle geometric shell patterns and are the third largest species of tortoise in the world. the only thing that doesnt fit perfectly with Splints is that (allegedly) their lifespan in captivity is around 50ish years, whereas im p sure Tortoise Splinter is well over 75, probably closer to 90 when the boys are born and hes mutated into Old Man Papa.

but maybe hes just a particularly long lasting African Spurred Tortoise.

the Hamato family has taken very good care of him for many decades after all. :)

The burning feeling on your stomach was creeping all over your body, you felt your entire self giving into the pain and felt your eyes closing as painful tears rolled down your cheeks.

You told yourself that you only needed a second and that you would be alright, so as you could only see the darkness, you let the pain take over. But then, once you opened them, you could only feel a pair of arms exactly where you had felt like dying. 

A tingling feeling on your neck and her hot breath put you at ease. As Wanda kissed your soft skin, you realised that it was just a dream, a really bad one, but a dream nonetheless. And she was there holding your healthy and life full body, keeping it warm with her own body heat and the bedsheets.

“Good morning, detka,” she breathed out, her voice muffled by your skin. 

“Good morning indeed,” you agreed, turning your head for your lips to desperately find hers, making sure she was actually there.  

Her lips were always soft, always fitted against yours, always found some silly comfort when she would bit your bottom lip. But this time it felt off, they had some unknown roughness to them, they felt stiff, not familiar and her teeth bit harder than usual. You instantly pulled away, furring your brows at the discomfort, which didn’t go unnoticed by her. 

“Everything okay?” she whispered, already knowing the answer. 

Wanda felt your body go rigid in her arms, so she did what she had to do to fix it. With a gentle tap to your temple, your eyes flashed red for a second and once they were back to their original colour the frown had disappeared along with the red scarlet hue from her fingertips. 

“Do you want to go take your morning shower and I’ll make us breakfast?” she pretended like nothing had happened, because nothing had actually happened. Nothing she couldn’t fix, at least.

She learned from the first time this kind of incident took place that it was better for the both of you to pretend as if it had never happened. She always made sure to keep her magic strong, but she had to give some credit to your strong human mind. She made a mental note to never put her guard down or she would lose you all over again, and she would rather die than let that happen.

You nodded, placing a soft kiss to her forehead then making your way to the bathroom, as her eyes lingered on your frame. Before you exited the room, you quickly glanced at her with a bright smile on your face, and Wanda felt like she couldn’t breath just by you looking at her. 

She was completely in love with you. It was crazy the hold you had on her, but it was okay, she was fine with being crazy about you. She loved you too much, too hard that she knew the feeling could kill her. But she would die happy anyway, she couldn’t help it, it was the way that she was. She felt as if you were under skin, always on her mind. She had never felt this close to someone before and she knew you were the one for her. 

You were her poison, but Wanda was your disease. You got her weak on her knees. She would do anything you asked her to, any demand or request, as long as you remained by her side, and she would make sure you would always stay with her. 

With a smile on her face, she made her way downstairs to get on with breakfast, knowing she had everything she had ever wanted. 

The moment your naked body got in touch with the warm water, you felt your body going numb. You let the warm water relax all your muscles and with a deep breath you felt as if you were falling asleep. The sound of the pouring water put you in some kind of trance and you felt as if you got back to dreaming. 

It was all foggy, but you recognized where you were: your old flat, before moving in with Wanda. The floor was red, but you didn’t remember ever having a red floor. You tried to focus on the dream too captivated to know what would happen next. And then as clear as daylight, Wanda was in front of you. But she didn’t look like her happy self, she looked mad, and her eyes were shining red. You knew that was a bad sign.

Your eyes shot open at the scary image and scary thought your mind had pictured for you. You felt bile creeping up your throat at the thought that Wanda would do anything to hurt. It was a silly thought, unrealistic even, she would never do such a thing. She loved you, she took care of you, she protected you.

You shrugged it off, letting the water wash away the horrible thoughts and got out of the shower, ready to start your day with your lovely girlfriend who loved you more than anyone in the world. 

As you took a look into your mirror, your eyes wandered around your almost–naked body. You were thinking if Wanda would appreciate the sexy lingerie for later, when your eyes just wouldn't pull away from your stomach. A small scar was on your side, almost invisible to the eye but now that you were paying attention it seemed as if it was getting bigger and bigger.

Your mind wandered around the dream you had, feeling the deadly pain all over again. As your fingertips traced the small healed wound, the memories came rushing to your mind. It was a lot of information for your brain to handle all at once, the more you understood the more you felt like someone was hammering your brain. 

But it was all now crystal clear. The red floor which was never red to begin with, the stern look on Wanda’s face, the screaming and shouting, begging her to stop, and, of course, the pain in your stomach. 

You ran to the bathroom and threw up, not able to contain your body juices anymore. It was all real, none of it had been a dream. Once you gathered yourself and your own thoughts, you made your way back to your bedroom, put on some clothes and ran downstairs to find her. 

“I wasn’t sure if you wanted waffles or pancakes… so I made both,” she turned to you with a smile, but it faltered once she saw the look on your face. 

You looked at her in the eyes, trying to hold your chin up. “You killed him,” it wasn’t a question but there was still some doubt in your tone, you didn't want to believe it was real. 

“Here we go again,” she muttered to herself. 

“We broke up,” you went on as you remembered every detail. “I found someone, someone I loved,” you felt tears burning your eyes. “But you didn’t like it, and you had to take that away from me.”

“He didn’t deserve you, he was bad news.”

“You killed him!” your bottom lip was trembling, you were scared and angry. “And you almost killed me,” you called her out as you made sense of the scar on your stomach. 

“I would never…” it pained you would think she would do anything to hurt you. “I would never hurt you, Y/n. Ever.”

“But you did,” you sobbed. “I loved him, I loved…” you were a shaking crying mess. 

“Detka, it’s okay. I can fix it…” she said, getting closer to you. 

“Stay away from me!” you took a step back, but she had already corner you in between the kitchen counter. 

“Shh…” she coed, and though you wanted to scream and make a run, your body betrayed you and found some sick comfort in her hands cupping your cheeks and her forehead resting against yours. “I can fix it,” you heard her whispering as your eyes closed. 

Wanda’s fingertips lighted up against your skin, her scarlet red magic doing its work and fixing up the memories you had in your brain. This time she concentrated longer, making sure the spell wouldn’t falter. She had been so caught up in her fantasy world that she didn’t notice how bad she had been slipping off. She knew you needed her to be better than this, and she promised herself she would be. 

Little by little, she erased all memories of your ex, the year and a half you had spent with it, the home you two had built. But the memory she put all her mind to was the night she made sure you belonged to her. 

“We can be together, baby. You can stay forever,” it wasn’t much of a request but her demanding it from you.

She made sure you forgot how you hd opened up the door to a pissed off Wanda; how she had let herself inside your home; how she had yelled both at you and your boyfriend; how pissed he had got; how one thing had led to another and next thing you knew you were holding your boyfriend’s dead body covered in blood; how you had yelled at her; how angry you had got at her; how angry she had got at you because you just wouldn’t understand; how you had grabbed a kitchen knife, scared for your life with her being present; how she had chased after you; how you had got accidentally stabbed and passed out for all blood you had lost. 

“Nothing else matters,” she reassured. 

She replaced all of those memories —bad memories— with happy ones. Just the two of you, the only thing you needed. She didn’t rush, she took her time picturing every single one for you, making sure her magic would last longer. And as she finished, she pressed her lips against yours, sealing the spell as you kissed her back.

coriolanus snow sfw alphabet

A = Affection (How affectionate they are)

this definitely depends on coriolanus’s mood but i think he wouldn’t be too affectionate. he would want to wait to be affectionate until he genuinely feels the need to be. usually early mornings are when he’s most affectionate. i can see him being such a touchy feely person in the morning.

B = Best Friend (what they would be like as a best friend)

coryo as your best friend would be very protective. if you go to him exclaiming that you’re really upset over something, he will be there for you and listen to you. he may judge you a bit but he will listen to you. and if someone messed with you, he would threaten to kill that individual lol.

C = Cuddles (Do they like cuddles?)

coryo loves cuddles! i think he would pretend as though he doesn’t but he’s naturally very cold (comes with years of poor diet) so when you’re next to him, he just wants to cling to you like a koala because you’re so warm and it makes him feel so good. he’s especially cuddly in the mornings.

D = Domestic (do they want to settle down, how are they at cooking and cleaning?)

coryo is the type to want to settle down and get married. however, i don’t think he would be a good cook. i think he would try but it would be pretty bad. and he would go “well at least it’s edible, better than nothing.” as for cleaning, he craves control and power and cleaning gives him that control and power so he would be very good at it.

E = Ending (if they broke up with their partner, how would they do it?)

probably in a very nonchalant sort of way. he would look them in the eye and just go “i don’t want to be with you anymore.” with no further explanation. or it could go really toxic. i think it all just depends on the reasoning for the breakup tbh.

F = Fiancé(e) (how do they feel about commitment?)

coryo loves the idea of commitment. someone being so totally down bad for him that they want to marry him? he’ll likely propose within a year of the relationship because he wants to have a wife or significant other someday. whether he feels for that person or not doesn’t particularly matter to him.

G = Gentle (how gentle they are emotionally and physically)

coryo isn’t too gentle emotionally and physically. he’s very impulsive and doesn’t communicate well. so i think when he expresses himself, it comes off much harsher than anticipated. same goes with physical things as well. like if he wants you close to him, he will indeed just grab you and pulled you towards him lol.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? What are their hugs like?)

coryo loves hugs but will never admit it. his favorite kind are just walking up to you and wrapping his arms around you while his chin rests on your shoulder. his hugs are actually either gentle or very tight. and regardless, he gives good hugs.

I = I love yous (how fast they say the L word)

giggles. he’d be the type to say it really fast whether he means it or not. he just wants you to stay with him. and to do that, he would tell you he loves you within a few weeks to a month of him being with you.

J = Jealousy (how jealous do they get?)

he’s so jealous!! coryo is a very possessive person. when someone is his, they’re his only. so he would get very jealous.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? where do they kiss you? where do they like to be kissed?)

ugh okay so his kisses are literally the best kisses ever. he kisses you like he’s a starving man that needs you to breathe. like you are his air. you could easily get lost in just kissing coryo. he loves kissing your lips and he loves when you kiss his cheek.

L = Little Ones (how are they around children, do they want children?)

coryo would want children for sure. and i actually think he would be a really good dad. in the book, he was really good with maude ivory who is just a child. so i think coryo would be really sweet with his own children. he would never let them see into his world and world want his kids to be happy and healthy.

M = Morning (how they are in the mornings)

coryo is so cuddly in the mornings. he’s to type to just koala cling himself to you just to get you to stay in bed with him. and if he has to get himself ready, he would be very pouty while he does so. he’s not much of a morning person as he prefers to stay up at night. but he’s super cuddly in the mornings.

N = Nights (How they are at night)

coryo is very intimate at night. and that is all i will say about that lol

coryo isn’t too open about himself in general. it would take a long while before he opened up emotionally. like he will need to make sure you’re 100% loyal to him and that he can trust you with his whole being before he could say anything about his childhood or his inner thoughts. he isn’t trusting of people.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

coryo is easily angered i feel. he is quick to resort to being annoyed and frustrated when things don’t go his way.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

he has a really good memory and would remember the things you love or the things you do. he may forget stuff here and there but he will always remember the things such as your favorite flowers, how you like your tea, how you like your coffee, your favorite meal, what jewelry you like and such. he will remember the small details that makes him love you.

R = Remember (Favorite memory about your relationship)

coryo’s favorite memory would be before you guys got together emotionally. whether you’re already in an arranged marriage, best friends, or rivals, there would’ve been this one time where he had fallen ill. and you took care of him by bringing him home or to your place and you just had him rest. and it meant so much to him.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

coryo is very protective. it may get annoying at times because you’ll be like out shopping and when you get home, he would ask you each store you went to. but it’s just because he’s paranoid and doesn’t want to lose you or have you get hurt in any way, shape, or form.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

coryo is so good at dates, anniversaries, gifts, etc. he wants you to be completely infatuated with him and so he does everything necessary to ensure that. you want to create meaningful gifts for your anniversary? he’s got it covered. you want to go on the most romantic, candlelit dinner ever? done. he sees flowers that he thinks you will like? he’s already bought them.

U = Ugly (What are some of their bad habits?)

coryo’s bad habits are: manipulative, possessiveness, jealousy, grabbing your shoulders a little too aggressively, etc. but he has really good habits too!

V = Vanity (How concerned are they about their looks?)

coryo is very concerned with his looks. it is what helped him get through being so poor.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

this definitely depends on the dynamic but once he’s in love with you, you’re in his heart forever and he cannot let go. so if you guys end up not together any longer, he would feel empty and would see signs of you everywhere.

X = Xtra (Random headcanon)

there was this time when you guys visited district four after he became president and you went to the ocean together. and you definitely pushed him into the water so he pushed you into the water and you guys just forgot about your lives for awhile.

Hiiii I just wanted to point out that in Cater’s birthday vignette, he talks about the music club and their different music tastes and mentions that Lilia sang “a guttural screamo song about an unrequited love” 👀 👀I just love stirring the pot of drama 👀👀👀

That's an interesting find, actually. 🤔 It might just be a coincidence, it might not be a coincidence.

Warning: long-ish personal thoughts about Melealia(?), Lilianor(??)

I think in some points of his life he'd entertained the idea that he was indeed in love with Meleanor-- but he's really on and off or confused about it because he doesn't really have a point of reference. He might have genuinely felt hope for a future with her when they were kids, but stopped thinking about it when she rejected him. The only fact we know is that he did and still cares very deeply for her, and it looks to me like he doesn't really care for labels anymore-- she's just an important person to him, period.

The song about unrequited love is interesting though, because whatever type of love Lilia felt for her, it's kinda obvious that she doesn't reciprocate in a romantic way. Aside from rejecting him way back when and then eventually marrying his closest friend, the way she treats Levan and Lilia is extremely, extremely different. She legitimately gushes on Levan while attacking Lilia both verbally and with lightning in the same breath, lol. It appears like Meleanor really only sees Lilia as a sibling.

Not really too relevant anymore, but another fun fact about Meleanor: she's very honest with her feelings. There was a time when she was set up for a date with another dragon, but she hated the idea so much that she did everything she could to terrorize and send the guy back home running LOL. So the fact that she rejects everyone and married Levan, stayed with him, and had a child with him tells us that he really is her one true love.

About Lilia and Levan... I'm genuinely not sure. We don't know much about him, so we don't know if he's actually the one Lilia's probably singing about. 🤔 It's also an interesting twist if he only sees Meleanor as a sister and actually likes her husband instead. 🤣 But if that's so and Lilia thinks it's unrequited, then that's probably what it is.

TL;DR: Whichever way though, if Lilia really was in love, he's very sad lol. Meleanor, as assertive and honest as she is, clearly never showed any desire to be with him much less marry him. We don't know how Levan felt, but it's also clear he didn't make moves on Lilia because Meleanor wouldn't have pursued him then.

I know Lilia is content with what he has now especially since he loves his boys to the end of the world and back, but if he ever decides to seriously pursue romantic love, then I hope it's healthy and fulfilling for him this time.

Golden

Kookie had a runny nose. He said when he's just hanging out with nothing to do he's fine but as soon as things start ramping up and getting hectic, the cold that won't go away comes back. Jimin was on to something when he said he was concerned about Jungkook staying healthy with such a busy schedule.

As usual he has stayed true to himself and I admire that a person of his age can be so honest about himself.

He was trying to keep it real and said things to lower everyone's expectations: About writing songs, he said he can't really write songs. He said he just doesn't have it in him. He said when he tries it always ends up being about Army.

He wondered if it was because he was so simple. This is what makes me love him as just a human being: he says things about himself that WE might not agree with but that he feels about himself. He's just so honest and unpretentious, and he doesn't even try to be that, he just is himself.

He said he thinks he doesn't have the intellect and that he doesn't have anything to write about, and if he HAD things to write about, he couldn't say them prettily and that there are so many other talented creators that he would just fall short. He mentioned RM, Yoongi, Hobi... they are so talented.

It is understandable that Kookie, being last, he saw what the other members did, and truly, it had to be intimidating. He may never feel confident enough but I bet if he gives it a try he’ll do great.

All of what he said adds another nuance as to why he said “something amazing" is coming when he did that live back in March and Set Me Free Pt 2 was about to drop. He saw how hard Jimin worked through that process and the end result WAS amazing. Intimidating indeed.

Perhaps he still needs to live some life before he can have enough emotional baggage to pour out some lyrics (lol). Give it time, Kookie, life will throw some shit at you. Or maybe expressing whatever is inside of him will never come out in words to a song. And its ok. Not everyone is a songwriter or poet.

I can accept this album as "this is where he is in his life right now". He said they worked fast. That's a lot to accomplish in the amount of time from start to finish.

My thoughts on the songs...

The lyrics to several of these songs are a little ... meh..., sort of disconnected. THAT BEING SAID... I can see some lyrics that probably did resonate with him.

But I am not going to focus so much on the lyrics but more on JK's vocal work and think about how he was trying to sing and pronounce well. THAT is what he was trying to do. He said lyrics are lyrics and images are images... they are not meant to be autobiographical so the lyrics will be secondary to the vocal production for me.

Jungkook explained that the pronunciation was a challenge. The producers each had their own idea of how the lyrics should be delivered to achieve the color of the song. English not being JK's first language, he was coached on what to do in the studio. He said especially pronouncing the "EEE" sound was a challenge.

I recognize some sounds that seem trendy. Some of the songs remind me of other songs I've heard in the past by other artists.

Closer has that flute and Afro beat that reminds me of another song but I just can't remember it right now.

Standing Next to You is giving me Michael Jackson Rock With You from his Off the Wall album or Remember the Time off his Dangerous album. A rockin' groove... "... when it's deep like DNA..." and "leave your body golden like the sun and the moon..." yes, those lyrics definitely resonate.

Yes or No, I can definitely hear the Ed Sheeran throughout that song. A nice song about that first thrill of love. Ed Sheeran is a great song writer. I've always liked his work.

Please Don't Change would probably be the song that comes closest to expressing how Jungkook feels about his fans. Though his life has been spent on camera, things might change and if he's no longer on camera, he'll still be the same but he hopes we please don't change. This song also has the same little flute sound as Closer.

Hate You. This is the Shawn Mendes song. It is one of those angsty relationship songs that are popular now like what Olivia Rodrigo and her ilk does. If Jungkook had not gotten this song, I could see it easily going to a female artist. It's quite painful. Kookie does a great job expressing the tragic drama of it all with his vocals.

Somebody is where he really lets loose with his range. Its a sad song. Like many, his opening lines had me doing a double take. I don't think we've ever heard Jungkook sing in this tone before? Very nice.

Too Sad To Dance. This is the kind of song I think Jungkook could write. It is simple and straightforward. The song is cute and poignant at the same time. He was able to keep his tone simple to match the vibe, he didn’t try to make it over the top… I love this song especially the very last line: "...you don't need no one to dance..." Stand on your own and be yourself, just like Kookie is doing.

Shot Glass Full of Tears is the best song on the album. There, I said it. He really reached down and brought JUST enough edge into his voice to pull it off. I could actually get emotional over this song. I will repeat, this is the best song on the album.

Well done, Jungkook.

Overall, Kookie is relieved the pressure is off. Now he can get out there and do what he’s knows he can do and that’s performing

And then he said it again: BTS is the most important thing to him.

Kookie knew he had to do this album. And now he's done it and ready to move forward.

I hope they had a great evening together. I loved seeing Tae and Jimin out and about, it really hits a spot in my heart.

A little while ago, I picked up a copy of Golden at Target, I don't know which photo card is the Target exclusive but this is what I got:

It's a nice package with a hard cover photo book and a case it slides into. The stickers are nice. Jungkook was wearing an earring with the that motif so I suppose it will show up as merch on the Weverse shop soon.

Anyway, that's my review of Golden.

Trying to picture where Crowley goes from the end of S2 and it looks like this to me:

Sticking around Soho: I have read lots of fic and seen lots of art for this premise that I love. However, if I'm going to try to guess where actual canon might go, this option seems both too painful for him as a character and too stagnant for the story. Like, wasn't the point of the beginning of the season that he had stagnated? It feels like the Final Fifteen was the cataclysm that had finally broken that stagnation. Something about the flow of Crowley staying in or near Soho, or his Mayfair apartment, for that matter, doesn't seem right.

Going off to live his own solitary life, like as a hermit or as a snake in a cave or something: Seems way too boring for Crowley. He needs things to do.

Going off to live in a human community: This could happen. I could see him living in a human community that he wants to protect from the Second Coming. But it seems a little too healthy and well-adjusted for the climax of the story's conflict, right? No? Maybe? I think we see many signs that Crowley is moving in this direction in Season 2, but he might not quite be there yet. Or he could be! I started off thinking this probably isn't it because it felt too easy, but there's a bit of poetry to the Serpent establishing his very own Garden that he wants to protect and, after everything is said and done, accepting a lost angel into it. Er, maybe that's a bit too sugary or uneven. Idk. I'm rambling.

Going back to Hell to become a "proper" demon: Lol.

Going back to Hell to fight against Heaven: Mmmmaybe? My main problem with this is the fact that the strings in Hell are ultimately pulled by the same people/person who run things in Heaven (the Metatron?), and while I'm not sure he's explicitly said anything about it in the show yet, I think Crowley is savvy enough to figure that out. So rejoining Hell simply to abide by their rules and start another war does not seem exactly right. One of his primary points in the Final Fifteen was that you can't fight an oppressive system by cooperating with it, and in the end, Hell is cooperating with the system as much as Heaven is. I guess we could assume Crowley hasn't quite figured it out yet, and his discovery of who's really in charge could be a plot point.

Going back to Hell to agitate the demons to revolt: This feels pretty good to me. Whether it's by taking on a position of authority and secretly feeding a resistance or by taking advantage of the chaos to establish an openly-rebellious group, I feel like Crowley could do this. It feels right for a moment of high conflict because it would involve significant character growth - Crowley choosing to embark on a mission to save the world instead of haphazardly getting thrown into it. However, since he'd be actively working to undermine Hell and would have to figure out where he belongs if the system does indeed collapse, encouraging resistance would not, on its own, get him to where he needs or wants to be. There would still be plenty of room for change and growth.

Maybe, if Crowley tempts his fellow demons to enjoy Earth things like Aziraphale does, he could slowly get them working toward stopping any future Armageddons just because they, too, have found things they like on Earth. Encouraging demons to enjoy Earth would potentially give Crowley a chance to work with more humans. It would also give him a chance to work toward one goal (Hell saves Earth?) only to accidentally accomplish another (demons discover free will).

Mandatory acknowledgment that I could be COMICALLY wrong here.
