The engagement of your most recent TikTok was off the charts. It wasn't something that you normally thought about. Yes, making content was your job and what helped keep the bills paid, but you always did well enough to not have to worry (you're very aware and never take this for granted). There was just something about Spencer in your videos that made the views and comments skyrocket.

The video went as follows: it was a simple set up, you were at your vanity with your makeup setup, and you sent a smile and wave to your phone. A voiceover of yourself talking. “Hey lovelies, I’ll be doing my makeup but Spencer will be doing the voiceover! Okay, bye!”

The video continued on with you massaging spf onto your face, followed by some primer. “This is Y/N doing her makeup routine, even though I tell her every day she already looks perfect.” Your awe was heard after his statement. “It looks like Y/N is putting sunblock all over her face. She’s not putting on the recommended amount which is about ¼ teaspoon. Many dermatologists recommend the ‘three finger rule’ when applying so that you know you’ve used enough.” Your scoff could be heard in the background, but Spencer continued. “She’s now using another product with the name ‘elf’ on it. I believe this is a skin primer, which I learned blurs pores and smooths your skin so makeup can glide on.”

The video continued on as you went through putting on concealer, foundation, and contour. “She’s now putting concealer under her eyes and on red spots. I believe this is for color correction, but she should be using a shade of green to neutralize the red and then put concealer or foundation on. She’s now blending in the concealer very vigorously.” His next words were a bit softer, most likely looking directly at you when he spoke “you should have a lighter hand so bruising doesn't occur or worse, when you're blending on your eyelid the possibility of popping a blood vessel.”

Your giggles could be heard as well as your words, “okay babe, you're missing some of the video though.”

“Right! Okay, now she's using foundation. This shade looks to be a shade too dark though. Y/N, did you run out of your winter shade?”

“Spencer!”

“Sorry, sorry, now she’s blending again, still very harshly, but now she's using a darker shade to contour under her zygoma and on her mandible.”

The video went on with Spencer’s commentary sprinkled in. He knew exactly what each process was (you think he watches more of your videos than you originally assumed), and he would only roast you every other step. It was the end of the video when you were putting setting spray on and Spencer let out a sigh. “And the last step. I think. She’s spraying something on her face. She told me this helps her makeup stay on all day, but her skin produces oils throughout the day so it's likely this really only works for a couple of hours at most.”

Your grumbled voice could be heard after his. “Outro, Spence!”

“Thanks… for watching? Was that good? I don't know how to stop the recording, Y/N–”

And the video was over. People were obsessed with Spencer just from his voice alone. The quips were funny, his voice was a bit raspy, TikTok declared they loved him (and you– they were obsessed with this relationship). You had a feeling Spencer would be a lot more involved in your content from here on out.

hi bia, I want to know your opinion re eddie cheating and latino culture/catholicism. I feel like in many ways a man cheating is something so normal in latin families (idk how this applies for latin people in the us but it's definitely a thing when living in latin america) and that's something that doesn't cause as much struggle with catholicism and "sin", as being queer does. I find it interesting how of course there's a loss that eddie thinks may happen if he cuts that last link to his religion connected to latino culture by coming out/coming to terms with his sexuality, that just doesn't seem to happen with other "sins"... idk if you've watched Brooklyn 99, but in there there's a Latina that comes out as bi to her parents and in the scene they basically tell her they'd rather she was dating someone married than admit that she was queer, and I feel like that's it, even tho I'm not sure eddie is aware of, he's falling into this (i believe) specific latino man stereotype where it's okay to do a lot of bad things, things maybe not accepted by the religion but unfortunately accepted by the culture, as long as you DON'T do the worst thing ever, which is being queer... idk if this makes sense lol, maybe it's not a thing lol, you dont have to post it I just dont have any other latino people i follow that may understand it, sorry

god, yeah, it's totally a thing. i grew up in texas but i was born and now live in latin america and this is so, so true. there are sins men are allowed to commit in latino communities because the sins are still "masculine". cheating on your girlfriend (they're not even married) is nothing. who cares. it still aligns with the misogyny that runs so rampant in latino culture. eddie sleeps with multiple women even though he has a girlfriend? oh, she wasn't enough him. she wasn't doing her job to keep him satisfied. it's a moral failing on her part, not his. and eddie's not that kind of guy, we know that, but this is all he learned growing up. it's very, very easy to fall back on the excuses you've heard a dozen times even when you know it's cruel. eddie dates two women at once and doesn't tell either of them? he's a firefighter, he's a single father, his life is stressful enough. let him have two women so when one gets high maintenance and irritating he can go to the other.

that'd be a problem. i have no doubt in mind eddie grew up hearing gay as an insult and faggot thrown around casually because homophobia is casual, not only in latino communities, but in the american south in general. he saw the way men who cheated would show up to mass with their wife against their side. her eyes were always so heartbroken, but that's something he's allowed. it's his right as a man. how can you fault his nature?

queerness is wrong, though. it's an abomination. you can't even confess to your sins because the church won't let you inside anymore. eddie can feel guilty for cheating on marisol all he wants, but guilt over something he's allowed is still better than bone deep shame over something he has not control over being.

and eddie's gonna hate himself for it! he's done so much to unlearn the worst parts of machismo, the parts that hurt him the most as a child, but god is it easy to fall back on when you need an excuse. his dad was absent most of his life growing up, but that's okay because he was providing. men don't sin for no reason. their wife isn't enough, they need to provide for their kids, their kids are a little too queer and need fixing. a heavy hand is better than an eternity in hell.

it's so complex. it's such a complicated relationship with himself, with religion, with being latino. god can judge him but how will he handle the judgment from his family. the church can hate him all they want but how is he supposed to handle the side eyes and whispers when he shows up to his high school friend's wedding and there's no plus one because it's either show up single or show up with a man.

men are allowed sin. men are allowed moral failing.

men are not allowed queerness.

and as much as eddie has been doing so much good work to unlearn that, the nasty, nails in your skin part of growing up latino are just as impossible to shed as the skin that covers your bones.

Not As Cold

Iceman.

Antarctica.

Those are names that Greg Lestrade will eventually learn are attributed to one Mycroft Holmes.  

Both are valid descriptions of the man, and while Mycroft’s younger brother Sherlock Holmes has a colorful list of other names for Mycroft, mostly pertaining to weight, Greg ignores those.

Aloof. Distant. Reserved. All those applied as well, but Greg mostly used one word to describe Mycroft: cold.

Mycroft Holmes, the uber intelligent occupant of a minor office in the British government that was anything but minor. Cultured and undeniably posh, Mycroft prided himself on his staunch detachment from sentimentality preferring facts over feelings.

In spite of his working relationship – and going along with the farce of the Consulting Detective calling him every G-name under the sun but Greg – the two were bordering on true friendship. And though Greg has known Mycroft almost as long, the same cannot be said for the elder Holmes brother. In the near four years of knowing the man, having the occasional dinners, the two mostly addressed each other quite formally. “Detective Inspector Lestrade” “Mr. Holmes.”  Friendly for them was only using surnames and that was only but so often.

Then Sherlock Holmes did the – well not surprising considering it was Sherlock but given his promises to Greg and Mycroft to not use drugs again – he did the unthinkable. He overdosed.

Greg found him and had him immediately brought to St. Barts and called Mycroft. No, that’s not accurate. For the first time he called the number for emergencies only and spoke with his assistant Anthea.

Greg was in the loo when Mycroft arrived less than an hour later. Mycroft had taken off his coat and sat at Sherlock’s side.

The man who sat there was not reserved.

He knew it was not Mycroft’s first time sitting at Sherlock’s side because of an overdose. It was the first time Greg had lain witness to it as he stood at the door and watched as Mycroft took his little brother’s hand and held it.

It felt wrong to stand there so Greg gently knocked. Mycroft’s eyes glanced up Greg as he stood at the door. He had a similar not there look like Sherlock when in his mind palace and was not 100% sure if Mycroft actually saw him.

“Thank you…”

The man who sat there was not aloof.

It was said so low, Greg almost dismissed that he heard it. He was not sure Mycroft himself knew he had spoken until he met Mycroft’s eyes. The pain etched in Mycroft’s face was heartbreaking. Greg knew it at a logical level but seeing the evidence that Mr. Caring Is Not An Advantage in fact cared deeply when it came to his brother was a revelation.

“You’re welcome...” Greg whispered in reply.

When Mycroft did not speak again Greg contemplated whether he should leave now that he was there for Sherlock.

The man who sat there was not distant.

“Stay…” Mycroft’s voice had not raised. His eyes were looking at the hand he held as he spoke. “…If you can, Gregory.”

“I would like that… Mycroft.”

Greg entered the room, took off his coat and pulled up a chair to sit on the other side of Sherlock, taking that hand.  

Greg knew when this crisis was over, they would each go back to their roles, but Greg knew something else as he looked into the grateful blue-grey eyes that silently thanked him again.

He knew he would never think of Mycroft Holmes as cold ever again.

Okay, I don't like Kiyosumi. He's mean, brash, loud, arrogant, and doesn't think before he acts, overall there are no redeeming qualities to his personality. And I don't think he'd ever change for someone else, whether it be his master, Doppo, a lover, or a friend. He's stuck in his ways and doesn't want to see the world in any other way. And I just know that if I were to ever meet Kiyosumi (if he were real), we would absolutely loathe each other.

Everything about him genuinely pisses me off, and I can't imagine how anyone could enjoy his presence, so this is why I think Kiyosumi would be an absolute freak to have on your ass. There's no way any sane wo/man would ever consider being in a relationship with him unless they were being held hostage.

I believe that Kiyosumi would be a stalker, through and through. He doesn't have the charisma that Jun or Katsumi (though it's clumsy) have. He's rude and annoying, which is clear throughout the series, but this doesn't mean he doesn't have experience with women. He does, but he doesn't retain any of the information, his head is too stuck up his ass to recognize what works and what doesn't.

He doesn't know how to get a woman into his bed without paying her; he doesn't know how to get a girl to laugh, nor does he know how to get someone to like him. Even though he's an attractive man, he can't seem to get anyone to stay.

Kiyosumi is the butt of the joke, no matter who he's talking to. Everyone makes fun of him and sees him as a weak martial artist, leading him to use extreme measures to appease his own ego, seeing as no one else will. This is why he uses underhanded tactics while fighting, and I think this applies to his dating life. Now, this leads me to the type of girls Kiyosumi would pine after.

The first type is sweet, caring, and sensitive. She can't stand up for herself and flinches at the slight raise in tone. Overall, this type of girl is very insecure and usually sticks to herself or her very, very close circle (who she's likely known since she was a little girl).

If this matches you, then well aren't you lucky. Now you have Kiyosumi tracking your ass. He won't leave you alone, no matter how many times you whisper for him to back off, albeit politely. He takes every stutter, breaking off eye contact, and flushed cheeks as a sign that you're interested in him, not able to get it through his thick skull that you're uncomfortable.

With this type of reader, I see Kiyosumi being an abusive, manipulator who's taking advantage of someone who's smaller than him, both physically and mentally. Kiyosumi enjoys the control you give him, seeing as you don't demean him like everyone else. You're nice to him, though you shouldn't be. You're unnaturally giving, and at first, it makes him conscious, believing that you've got some trick up your sleeve.

Kiyosumi has genuinely never felt such kindness that he's developed major trust issues, which have formed into anger issues. He belives that he's being underappreciated in the martial arts, but you give him the recognition he's looking for. You don't say anything mean to him, if anything you're complimenting him (you're not)!

I feel horrible for this type of reader, far too much of a nervous wreck to say shit to Kiyosumi, letting his hands wander where they shouldn't be. You feel as if you're not in a place of power, in a high enough authority to say anything. Maybe if you just keep your mouth shut he'll leave you alone, right?

It's better to just ignore how his hand slowly creeps down, down, down, settling on your ass, cupping the fat, and squeezing; to ignore how his eyes linger on your cleavage, which you've covered as much as possible, not wanting any attention from Kiyosumi. Or how he wraps his arm around your shoulder, pressing his chest to your back, forcing you to feel ever muscle, the raw power they hold.

Though Kiyosumi is weak in the grand scheme of things; you don't know that, so he uses that to his advantage, forcing you into compromising situations. You're clearly not comfortable with his advantages, tugging on his hand when he caresses your waist, his sweaty hands practically leaving stains on your light sundress.

He chooses to ignore when you actively lean away from him, not wanting to catch a whiff of his alcohol-drenched breath, no gum can fix his rank breath. The grease colllecting in his onyx hair, made the gel shine a little too much.

Kiyosumi is just gross, and clearly not a ladies' man. Hell! You doubt that Kiyosumi has even interacted with a woman who isn't his mom! But you'd never tell him that, you don't think you'd survive the stare he'd give you seconds after. Living for others' approval has been your goal since you were a little girl, and seeing such a disapproving stare would break you.

But that's what Kiyosumi likes about you. You're just so soft, so nice, and sweet. You'd never undervalue him like all the other women do, like Doppo does. No, you wouldn't do that to him, you're far too kind for that (he acts like he knows you better than you know yourself).

Kiyosumi will try to pressure you into advancing your "relationship" at a rapid pace. At one moment, he's following you around work, trying to get your number and the next he's sleeping in your bed, hogging the blanket like an ass.

It makes your head spin and knees quake. Your life has spun upside down, no longer looking the same as just a few months ago. Kiyosumi has weaseled his way into your life, securing himself in your home like a leech.

Now he can make sure that no other man is getting even close to you. No, no, no you cannot even speak to other men. Kiyosumi wants your eyes on him, and only him. He's not letting you go, not after he's found the jackpot, you. You're the only person who's "appreciated" him on this level; you're like his sweet, little honeypot, that only he has. He doesn't want to share his new toy with the other boys, not when you're so damn cute.

UGH! He's literally the definition of an ICK. I hate him so much because, c'mon angel face, don't you know we're in this together? All you have to do is trust me, and let me take the reins, yeah? Just let me be the man. Now, just sit your cute ass down, and shut your mouth.

That latest chapter of Palmerosa was a big one right in the feels, I'm simultaneously worried that Raphael is going to be a total shit to Astarion and also kind of hoping that he is so that the people at the Last Word can tell him off for it. Cymon is very sweet, but God do I want to punch Eurus in the face.

Aha, I'm sure Raphael will be a total shit and somehow be decent at the same time.

The thing is, I think the people at the Last Word have a very 'how they are in that relationship is between them and none of our business' - so if Raphael were to torment Astarion in order to help ground him, they'd honestly stay out of it.

Eurus definitely showed his most hostile side, but from his perspective, he's got a devil who has locked two folks he knows into contracts, and he's got a vampire spawn who literally can only exist by eating people like him and his partner, who is vulnerable and under his protection.

He has no reason at all to view Astarion from the same lens we do, and he has actually no reason at all to view Astarion as anything other than a violent and unpredictable monster which - frankly - is pretty understandable given this is actually how most vampire spawn tend to behave.

Like, even giving him a chance to talk to Cymon on his own is incredibly generous of him.

We award Astarion personhood and humanity because we've played the game. Eurus however lives in a universe where vampire spawn literally murder, kill and eat people like him so they can keep murdering, killing and eating people like him. They are an infection / parasite / curse / monster that takes over the body of whoever was there before, and uses their visage to hunt. Personhood is not something that is awarded by default to folks like that, especially when those folks are in the company of someone who already has a pretty difficult relationship with The Last Word!

This is one of those situations - that I love writing - where Eurus has his own motives, and is making his own choices. If we view his actions through our own lens of knowing Astarion very well, then he's a dickhead. If we view his actions as someone who is determined to make it clear he isn't afraid to stand up for himself or his loved one in front of two monsters who could - honestly - tear the room and everyone in it apart if they wanted to, he actually becomes someone who's behaving in a fairly heroic way to keep it together for his partner, while still allowing for some flexibility because Alectrona is there.

That whole 'everyone is the hero of their own story' applies very well to Eurus in these circumstances, tbh.

You spend the rest of the day thinking about your new job. Dating your favourite idol is crazy, even if it's fake and you've read enough fanfiction where fake relationships become real. So you begin browsing through more stories to get some tips to make Jay fall in love with you.

As you're about to get to the spicy part of this Jay fanfiction story, your phone starts to ring.

It's an unknown number but still you answer.

"Hey Y/N, it's me, Jay"

"Hi"

"Y/N, we umm...need to have a public appearance, a lunch date if you will. I will send you all the details."

You get ready, take time dolling yourself and reach your destination.

You and Jay walk into the restaurant, together. Heads turn as you two enter.

You flinch as his hand finds a way to your back.

" Oh, I'm sorry", he immediately retreats his hand.

"It's okay, you can keep your hand there."

Jay slowly places his hand on your back. His touch is as soft as a feather. Your cheeks are painted with a deep shade of pink.

Jay pulls out your chair for you like a gentleman.

"Thank you", you smile softly.

He returns the smile.

"Remember, we need to look like a couple. So you can drop all the formalities."

You both order food and talk about random stuff while maintaining the lovey-dovey look.

"I must say this Y/N, you're a natural actor", you smile. How will you say that you're not acting but you're actually in love with him since you first saw him on TV?

After finishing your lunch, you both walk outside. As soon as you both step outside, you're flooded with questions. You remember Jay's words, "Remember, we need to look like a couple."

You've spent your time simply over Enhypen, so you didn't have time for any romantic relationship. So, you have no idea what to do. You've always heard that when you get into a relationship, everything will happen naturally. But then again, it's not a real relationship. You just need to make it seem real. What do couples do?

They have a beautiful bond. They have fun, enjoy each other presence, and get intimate. They........kiss.

You look at Jay, he's looking ahead. His side profile is just...ethereal. His lips are soft and plump. Without thinking anything, you pull him in and plant a kiss on his mouth.

He seems surprised, stiff. But then relaxes a little, as soon as the cameras around us start flashing. His arms wrap around you and draw you into his chest.

Everything was blurry around you. You couldn't even imagine your idol noticing you and now you're kissing him. You remember attending Enhypen's fansign, one year ago. But Jay doesn't remember you. You don't blame him for that, he has met so many people Moreover you're not a very memorable person. You're not a second lead not even a supporting character. You're the character in a book, who's...just there. You snap back to reality.

No, no, no. Kissing him wasn't the best action, you didn't ask him. He's in a position where he can't even push you away. No, this is not acceptable. You took advantage of him. You need to stay in Your lane. You pull away.

You notice that his cheeks are pink.

Is he blushing?....No, that's hopeful thinking. He's probably embarrassed. Yeah, that's it.

Remus had some nerve accusing Harry of throwing his parents’ sacrifice aside, when a) Remus had no real way of knowing that Harry was aware Sirius posed a threat to him specifically because I’m pretty sure it’s just Arthur who informs him of this and not any of the teachers. To the teachers’ knowledge, all Harry knew was some guy broke out of Azkaban and wanted someone at Hogwarts dead, but none of them actually told Harry “hey, we think this guy wants you dead.” Like, they didn’t offer him any form of protection and he’s been in danger in the actual castle, why the hell would he automatically go “oh, Hogsmeade is totally where this guy will try to kill me, I should stay in the castle where a whole bunch of people are in danger every year and the teachers never actually do anything about this, I’ll be totally safe there.” There was a big-ass snake just roaming around the entire year before and the teachers accomplished precisely nothing in terms of protecting the students, Harry has no reason to believe he’ll somehow be safer there than in a literal crowd of people and with both of his best friends right next to him and thus capable of causing a hell of a scene if something happens to alert everyone nearby that Sirius Black is present and attacking Harry Potter. Sirius is good, but I’d put my money on the screaming capacity of two pissed off teenagers who just wanted some candy and butterbeer. B) Remus over here is literally helping Sirius, albeit unknowingly, by refusing to tell anyone he’s an animagus. Even if Remus wanted to believe Sirius was getting in some other way, he’s still risking the lives of everyone in the castle because he doesn’t want to disappoint Dumbledore. I can see why they didn’t trust him in the First War, he keeps secrets even when he knows he is putting others at risk. The guy believes Sirius is a Death Eater, a spy, and Voldemort’s second-in-command who is poised to take control of the rest once Harry is dead, and yet he is just staying silent on the matter. Horrible AU where Sirius really was a traitor the entire time and Remus’s silence damns everyone, Voldemort comes back some other way or Sirius just kidnaps Harry for LV so V comes back later

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

Tsuruno: I've really been enjoying the way Gaiden's introduced more people to Yamaguchi's work as an actor and how much fun everyone's been having with his other roles and incorporating stuff from them into their depictions of Tsuruno! I think Yamaguchi's super underrated (and unfortunately his talent doesn't fully come through as Tsuruno due to the motion capture being done by others), so it's been nice to see people come to appreciate him.

Arakawa: I feel like you kind of have to pay close attention to Arakawa and his journey to fully enjoy him as a character, so although he's not the most popular character out there, the stuff people do make for him is almost always on-point... delicious fucking food...

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Tsuruno: Complete and Utter Dog Person... I need one of Yamaguchi's dogs to make a cameo soooooo bad...

Arakawa: He's a Kaomoji User to me... probably doesn't use them as much as when he first discovered them but everyone's super thrown off getting texts or emails from him for the first time because of the gap moe...

Tsuruno: You don't really get the full effect from this framing but I felt like SUCH a Victorian gentleman seeing an ankle during this scene it's not even funny... there's definitely other Tsuruno moments I love, but I think I'll love them more once I get to them in my sunglasses-less mod playthrough!

Are you optimistic about season 26?

erm um… no?? 🥲

Season 25 and Streaming Wars had their moments, but overall the delivery of ideas felt lackluster. Much like the last 2 years, I expect a running theme. Essentially, the season won’t really be a season per se, but acts as narrative buildup interspersed with side episodes—though they will loosely connect to the season—leading up to the 2 specials airing later this year. It’s a solid game plan on paper, but s25/SW was super dodgy. I feel the saving grace was Tolkien’s renaming, and Cartman’s whole hot dog arc thing that just got set up. I know Randy was given competition (finally! the little resistance and pushback to his hijinks has done serious damage to his character) but really the biggest takeaway I’ve seen from fans/merch is stuff from Cartman’s arc. (cartitties).

However, I feel Matt and Trey have been revitalized by the concert, Casa Bonita’s opening, and their deepfake deal. It’s a double edged sword though, because now Mattrey are juggling the opening of a restaurant, production for the video game, their deepfake studio… I’m worried their attention will be divided and affect the quality of the story this season.

TLDR: Very mixed feelings, though not quite approaching cautiously optimistic… I expect the fresher ideas (HotDog) to get sidelined and Randy will remain in focus.
