So. Danny might have accidentally become a bit of a cryptid. He didn’t mean to, but he’d become a bit nocturnal- like many an Amity Parker- and it wasn’t his fault that he couldn’t be bothered to make sound when he was tired. Or pretend to breathe or, okay, he could see why he kept freaking people out at the grocery store he kept going to. 

But it wasn’t his fault! He has to get food too! And really is it anyone else’s business? Seriously he thought that people wouldn’t be so surprised with how much magic is everywhere. Like you’d think they’d never seen someone who wasn’t fully human before or something. 

Oh great, there’s a journalist at the grocery store now- he’s going to ignore that and finish his shopping and then continue his online work. Ooh, and eat icecream. He deserves it for potentially putting up with this.

DPXDC Prompt #54

The Justice League came up with a program to find young metas in small towns to help find those with powers so they can help them master their powers so they don’t hurt anyone. They’ve especially targeted small towns and set up through schools to run the tests in a controlled setting. Amity Park is one of the towns they decided to visit, and Casper High is one of the schools they visit, especially with the supposed ghost attacks. They wanted to make sure the ghosts weren’t a meta with a crazy uncontrolled power.

Danny just wanted to sleep, but they already visited his house and knew he went to Casper high. Batman and Superman visited Fenton Works to get some ghost hunting gear, although they mostly picked up Spector Deflectors to wear. Danny really didn’t want to go to school but he knew it would be suspicious if he didn’t. Little does he know part of the test is a physical checkup.

And that of course makes it worse, and Spock goes off To Sulk until McCoy bullies him into taking a first aid refresher, which actually does make him feel better?

i think that happens. i think it happens twice. Spock's so angry the second time he says Very Mean Things about human organs. He makes a powerpoint, actually.

(McCoy makes him sit down for a one-on-one human anatomy class after the powerpoint fiasco, but it's a very hands-on course so Spock doesn't protest too much.)

The first time Sonic went Super in Road Trip wasn't exactly as stunning to Tails as other au's and stories.

Tails is like maybe 5 here (I'm not actually that organized on the timeline for this au yet, I'm getting there though, things are getting in order.) and he wasn't forced to grow up and be a hero in this au. So he's a bit more childish than canon Tails because he doesn't feel as pressured to mature and grow up fast. Plus, he genuinely thinks Sonic is going to die and this is the last time he see's him, so tears are bound to come down.

Forever’s song prank is pretty funny and it’s amazing how great Bad is at triangulating the locations but also the root of this is exactly the reason why Bad removed Forever’s access to his base. Like. This is the second time he’s falsely accused him of stealing and immediately punished him for it, not giving a shit about what he says. He actively refuses to apologize for jailing him the first time. It’s so interesting seeing how Forever was the ONLY person who had access to Bad’s original underground base, the one he left bc vegetta put a camera in it, and now, out of the people Bad consider’s a close friend, he’s the ONLY one who doesn’t have access to his current base. He’s the ONLY one to have been removed. No one has utterly shattered Bad’s trust as much as Forever has.

Batfam au where Danny is delirious from something his parents injected him with as Phantom and he wanders into the DC universe and is just wandering around invisibly when he gets run into by Robin. Literally.

The boy has to grapple himself back to the rooftops and is threatening bloody vengeance to whatever made him falls. Danny, who currently lacks any self preservation, summoned a bag of bird seed from Ancients know where and chunks it at Robins face.

Danny makes it a game to throw bags of bird seed at the various bird heros and villains while invisible and giggling as he flees. His favorite is Robin, obviously. Though the face Red Robin made the first time it happened to him was priceless, there's just something about playing with Robin thats so fun. Maybe it was the "playing with fire" aspect? Either way it was only a matter of time before he got burned.

while i love how both versions portrayed hisoka's true bloodlust finally shining through, 1999's portrayal strikes me as much more visceral.

gon, the brave and quick-witted kid that we've been following throughout the exams, is faced with mortal fear for the first time during the exam. and for once, he is scared. terrified, even. he instinctively curls into a ball, shaking and pleading to be somewhere, ANYWHERE else than here, and the audience is reminded that despite being leagues above most of the other candidates, he's still a 12 year old boy looking for his father. and yet, despite feeling this terror; despite learning what fear really entailed, he continues on. he takes a few uncertain steps, and he's running forward once again.

meanwhile, 2011's take strikes me as very matter of fact; hisoka is scary, and gon is scared, but he quickly gets over it and moves on. it's still a very, VERY well done scene, and it gets the message across well (i actually do not know which hisoka i prefer between the two, they're both so unnerving), but 1999 is so good at humanizing its characters that i can't help but praise it for making me feel like i was there. like i could feel the exact same horror that gon felt, down to the last frame. it's difficult to achieve that sensation, but they ABSOLUTELY succeeded.

Just a little something I noticed in my One Piece watching

Is Luffy able to hear heartbeats?

Granted, I have some spoilers, but I'm only up to Alabasta and already I've noted a couple times when Luffy seems to be able to hear heartbeats.

-The sound of Granpa Ryu's final heartbeats plays over his death scene, in a diegetic way that at least Luffy seems aware of.

-In the fight against Mr. 3, he's certain that Nami, Zoro and Vivi are all alive, despite them appearing to be dead to most outside viewers

-In the same fight, he picks out Mr. 3 from a lineup of wax replicas going only on "instinct"

I just think it's a fun headcanon that Luffy, whether he knows it or not, can hear the sounds of a heart beating. It's near impossible for a stowaway to hide their presence on the Going Merry, because somehow Luffy knows. He can find his family in a forest blindfolded. Mans just knows The Sound Of People Being Alive and will run towards it with open arms and an uncanny accuracy.

#after a while of sailing together he can distinguish all the different heartbeats of his crew #and he'll perk up at hearing Sanji in the kitchen.
