Mod Introductions!

Hello hello from the mods of the SPN Genderbend Bang! We are still a month or so off from officially opening the bang, but in the meantime we felt that introductions were in order. We've got three of us here, so it's time to meet the people who are here to help! First up, we have Any (@anyreiart): "Hello! I'm Any (they/them or any pronouns). I've been a fanfic writer and artist for a very long time now and have a lot of experience with bangs as a participant and also as mod (This is my 4th time as a mod). I think this is a super interesting bang idea, especially with the diversity and new stories it can bring, and when Eve told me about it, I jumped on the bandwagon to help. My strength is organization and discord wrangling."

Then we've got Max (you can find them here on twitter): "Hi friends! I'm Max (they/he). I got pulled into spn in 2005, but only found fanfic in 2018. Despite that, I now have over 40 works on ao3 and have participated in 10 bangs, (though this is only the 3rd I've modded). I cannot wait to see what this bang brings us. Also, as your friendly neighborhood trans person, feel free to ping me if you need a quick sensitivity check!"

And lastly we've got Eve (@wolfiepyxie), the chaos brain behind this bang idea: "Howdy! First time ever doing this (bang modding wise) so here goes. I'm Eve (Queen Eve on discord though I have so many nicknames by now), she/her are my pronouns, and I've been a writer for a while but I haven't been with the SPN fandom for that long. Now do I know much about the topics of my own bang? No, but I'm willing to learn! As a closing remark, I hope you have fun with this bang and I am chaos incarnate, hence why I'm glad the other two are here to keep me in check 😆"

commenting on fanfics you like is so meaningful to the authors, I literally got an email notification of a comment on a fic I hadn't touched in five years and the comment made me want to revisit it so I went back and revised the existing material and wrote three new chapters and updated for the first time in forever all because someone took a few seconds to comment on the fic

My pettiest and most tenacious gripe with supernatural is that when Lucifer is not taking a vessel but projecting his own image of himself, he should be played by Jared Padalecki. I know that for whatever mysterious reason they wanted Mark Pellegrino back but I just think this was a huge missed opportunity.

Lucifer considers Sam's body his rightful vessel, as much his own body as it ever was Sam's. In the cage he should have presented himself this way when he wasn't actively possessing Sam, and Sam's hallucinations should have been of his own cruel smirk. It's consistent with Lucifer's characterisation, his objectification of and entitlement to Sam. And it's impact on Sam would be so powerful.

After Lucifer, he avoids mirrors. Looks away from the impala's night-darkened windows lest he catch his reflection. His stomach turns at old photos of himself. He doesn't have many, but he's held onto some of his family. In one with Dean, his arm is slung easily around his brother's shoulder, both of them with beers in hand and matching smiles. It's a rare memory of peace, an image he's treasured for years, and when he looks at it now he feels panic crawling up his throat. He grits his teeth to hold back the snarl of "get away from him". He never looks at his hands any more, when he changes the car's oil or cleans the guns. He touches other people as little as possible. Everything's different. His body makes him an invader in his own life. He was born unclean, a soul tainted from the start, but now he looks into his eyes and sees a monster.

not that this means anything given who i am but if EYE were in charge of s11, i would’ve had lucifer flirting with and complimenting and obsessing over sam the entire time. i would have had lucifer using castiel’s friendship with sam as a pretext to get into way too intimate situations. i would have had sam get hurt on hunts every episode until casifer is revealed so that lucifer has an excuse to cup sam’s face and stroke his cheek while healing him. i would have started the ‘lucifer in sam’s room’ thing earlier with casifer offering to stay in sam’s room to ‘keep the devil from reaching out to him from the cage’ because surely sam expected to keep getting visions from lucifer only worse now that he’d been denied. i would have put in an evil samifer kiss after the soul-touching scene AND had lucifer tell sam his soul is beautiful and perfect and how he wishes he could keep it again like he did in the cage. just saying.

i think a part of sam feels physically empty after lucifer is done with him. i think there is a space carved into him that lucifer fills and now that’s so empty. and despite his aversion to possessions, he needs to feel whole, to feel full again. he hates that lucifer made some part of him feel whole but longs to feel that way again. he hates himself for missing it. who in their right mind asks to be possessed just to chase some twisted high?
