and for the next lines, consider the idea of revali with this warped idea of loving and being loved in his status as a champion, and him trying to maintain a boundary between the two of them. he tries to find every excuse why he and link can't be together even though he's desperately in love with link anyway; they're champions and have responsibilities to their people, they're foils to each others, they butt heads too often, they're too different to be together, or what would the other champions, or the people of hyrule think if they knew they were together? and yet still, they can't help but continue to seek each other out and intertwine and wrap around each other once more.

actually ey fuck it. list of personal headcanons for the main six iterators some of which i might illustrate properly at some point:

Moon: • one of the first 10 iterators ever built. she is grandma as HELL and totally forgot she is that old • Pebbles sometimes asks her to tell him about the older times, because history nerd. he writes everything she says onto a pearl • in the post i've made talkin bout her and pebs' voice, saying that she sounded like Miku, somebody said that they like to think the ancients made Moon a vocaloid. to that i absolutely agree: she has NO fucking clue what do when it comes to putting a certain emotion into a song but god DAMMIT shes so good at singing • she can add effects to her voice, including a glitch effect. she likes that one the least • -HITS DESK- THE DISAPPEARANCE OF HATSUNE MOON. • she doesn't particularly like to sing, especially not to herself. but she does know that pebbles likes music- the first week after the mass ascension was rough and he was working mostly on autopilot, not answering DMs or anything. she called him up and told him they could sing together, if he wants to. he felt much better afterwards • MOON'S SECRET RAP CAREER • i'll put it here too so it's all in one place: her AI isn't developed enough to understand the emotional quality of any form of art • Moon was upgraded a few times in her function. most of the time it was because her citizens loved her too much to let her go too out of date (specifically in the physical sense. they made sure she wouldn't fall too easily) • one of the first memories she designated as a "core memory" was her first upgrade that was a result of her citizens' riot against the Houses- to keep her safe. she noted it down as "Kindness is effortlessly repaid" • she remembers when iterator comms were connected by a cable rather than radio waves • she also remembers when two of the first 10 collapsed and went into coma, with their citizens of course perishing in the fall and crash. she's still terrified of those days and doesn't like recalling them even for Pebbles • Nish was her first little sib and she feels like she can talk with him about anything. she hates it, but she's distant with Suns- they are always so damn polite and skittish around her... and she absolutely adores the other three. her tiny little wonderful siblings • she didn't like to admit that maybe her hardwave wasn't keeping up with her citizens anymore. at that point she did start to emotionally care less for them, but she still didn't want to admit she wasn't able to provide and protect those she was responsible for • i can't get the image of her being the one to actually ensure the family is gonna financially survive in a more chill au where the iterators r just sorta kinda people. Miss Moon From Accounting... • her overseers were originally blue. she swapped colors with Pebbles all on her own accord. having yellow overseers, seeing them, made her feel even more connected to Pebs • this is basically canon but she fuckin Loves animals. she's the iterator version of Steve Irwin. she also don't kno jack shit about the vegetation • city's representative instrument Evolved- first it was a harp, then it went to a nyckelharpa and then to a violin

Nish: • he is built over marshes to the south-west from Moon and she helped with his blueprints! the Gen 1s had their blueprints checked over by the already built iterators to make sure something wouldn't go wrong. she was so so excited to have a neighbour • the scarf is from his main programmer. the Ancient wrapped it around his puppet's neck before he was even turned online so for the longest time he had no idea that the thing wasn't originally in his design. Moon had to tell him • he became a jokester Entirely because the first time he made Moon laugh he absolutely fell in love with it. he told her and she recommended him looking into jokes. baby boy had no idea what the fuck a joke was so Moon had to explain • when the middle gen started being created, the Ancients noticed that these new iterators didn't have... much of emotional skills. so they turned to the older gens to look for the most emotional and empathetic ones. Nish scored Really High on that survey- his empathy and emotion modules were studied and each time they found something new and better, they upgraded him in that one aspect. so now Sig is one of the biggest crybabies ever. you show him a sad movie and this supercomputer will be lyin on the ground wailing like a newborn. oh and also he makes for a great therapist because he can now just Get It • as the most emotionally... mature? capable? he decided he will be the one to keep a real close eye on everyone in the Local Group after the mass ascension • thanks to all that emotion business he gets along with Suns swimmingly. when Suns needs assistence with figuring out their own emotions or what would be appropriate and not too cold towards someone, they go to him • if he could he'd give everyone younger than him a noogie and you cannot convince me otherwise • the Hunter was a sickly pup that was left behind on his roof by a family that came to him which he directed towards the void sea. they were far too weak for the family to keep them, basically on the death's door. Nish took them in, operated on them, enhanced genes and raised them from there • Is half a medical facility. mister veterinarian, baybeee • since he's a sap, he started to view the Hunter like his own kid at some point. he was also the one who pitched to Suns the idea of sending Spearmaster over to him for visits. Spear tried its best to help raise and train Hunter • the whole rot thing happened because Nish did a stupid and forgot that neurons are quite the fuckin reactive things and continual exposure to what is essentially extra macho giga neuron Can and Will fuck up cells. his and Moon's cans have a long distance between them. it was enough time for Hunter to develop the big owie cancer. he noticed it only when they were too far away and it was already too bad • he felt absolutely Terrible about it. again he loses someone so so very close to him. but this time around? there is no one to be angry at for this but himself • Hunter manages to ascend. Nish watched them leave, silently, in subterranean • he used to do his best to play with his citizens. when a kid came to his chamber, he gave them rides on his puppet's shoulders or the umbilical arm. same went for Hunter • his city is called Risio • city's representative instrument was EITHER a PVC instrument or suona i can't decide for the life of me

Suns: • they were built much further away from the planet's equator than most of the Local Group, meaning they experience polar days and nights • the "Seven" in their name refers to the amount of months the unusually timed sunsets and sunrises last for. for seven whole months, the locality gets only about four hours of Somewhat darkness • in return, they have three full months of relatively strong darkness. their city used to shine bright, during this time. post mass ascension those months are terribly lonely and depressing • because of the warmth they produce, there's an oasis for wildlife underneath them • the warmth was also sung about a lot by their citizens. they've seen it as an incredible blessing- Suns used to run hotter than other iterators just for them. nowadays they are mostly normal though • the outside of their can is tinted blue- frostbitten. that much warmer their yellow, orange and red city feels • their and Moon's personalities clash so hard that they sometimes go out of their way to avoid her. they do appreciate her but talking with her is exhausting. she's a stranger to them, almost • the iterators can project/send their emotions through messages/broadcasts. Suns' messages always sound flat, unless they use the ~ • one of their biggest dreams is to sit with Pebbles leaning against their side, all the while listening to old music of their cities • once Spearmaster returns, the walls of their puppet chamber become completely covered in doodles and masterpieces • they end up standing the longest out of the whole Local Group. bright and warm even after everyone else dies • their city is called Solis • city's representative instrument was an armonica (look that shit up its sick)

Wind: • Wind's can stands in this giant plain. there's like nothing as far as the eye can see and even further Except her. she just stands there like fucking Slanderman XXL version • the plains are absolutely prime location for a spawning grounds of tornadoes and shit like that. the wind is Constantly strong so most of the rain clouds they exhale are immediately blown away • instead of rain they deal with ginormous tornadoes at the end of each cycle. while their superstructure can take it, the comms can't. so Wind is often absent from iterator chats as a result. after the mass ascension these connection knock-outs become a great source of stress and worry for the others cuz they never know if Wind will come back or not this time • because of these comm blackouts, Innocence took it upon herself to catch Wind up on everything they've missed when they come back online. Innocence started doing this all by herself out of seemingly nowhere. she just cares. silently. • the strangest thing about her is that her city is half built within her structure instead of on top of her. the winds can get sometimes so bad that they manage to affect even the top of her can. so the solution was to put half of the city under her skin as a sort of giant bunker • the ancients, not being ones to waste much space, made sure the city can still be used by Wind's processes, in a way. their neurons fly through the streets, completely unbothered, working as makeshift streetlights. the kids used to love chasing after them- never catching any though • sometimes when the wind storms outside got real bad, the kids that were scared of them were sent to Wind's puppet chamber. she used to tell them all kinds of stories or about what she was currently working on • it was often that their puppet chamber would be full of pillows, blankets and sleeping children. they loved their citizens so so much • nicknamed themself "Chasing" Wind in chats because, just like Moon, they are also quite the dreamer • closest with Moon, too. Wind looks up to Moon Immensely. they really wanna be like her one day • Wind is what some people think of Moon- a too kind pushover that doesn't know how to get angry and defend herself. Wind is the kindest, most sensitive and softest person they have in The Local Group. Nish takes care to keep his jabs and jokes about Wind very mild • has a really beautiful voice • likes flowers :) • her city is called Procella • city's representative instrument was a fujara cuz god DAMMIT i love that instrument i Have to slap it on Someone in here. it fits their vibe in my heart either way

Innocence: • she really wishes her surrounding circumstances were in some kind of way special but actually she's built at the least unique place with basically nothing neat happening nearby. there are strange giant cherry trees nearby, but that's about it • fuckin LOVES lizards. she's the one who made the Cyans and sent some over to Pebbles to fuck him up. thankfully, as we all know, Cyans are kinda stupid and since they launch themselves over edges of cliffs they haven't managed to destroy the local ecosystem • her citizens used to keep lizards as pets. most of the time just for the joy of having 0 braincells creature follow you around but some had 'em as sort of hunting dogs • was the one who created The Rivulet. she was mumbling to herself and a friend smth about how boys only screw things up while engineering Riv's genome • she BASICALLY packed Riv into a cannon and shot them over right into the middle of a scav toll cuz "come on, it's not that far away. this will make your journey shorter and shit". i don't care how goofy it sounds, this is how it went in my heart • in possession of probably the most durable comms ever made • claims she's purple! she's actually fake out purple which means homegirl is Deceptive Blue. she CONSTANTLY fights over this with Pebbles • despite their squabbles she did care for Pebbles. she was very excited to not be the youngest anymore and getting to baby someone • her and Nish always start verbal sparring matches, often consisting of threats that more often than not range on impossible to actually commit. they constantly lead their mock wars in #general. Moon's gonna kill 'em one of these days • trusts Moon the most- which is why she outed Pebbles' rot and sent Rivulet with the instructions to extract the rarefaction cell • her city is called Sermo • city's representative instrument was a shamisen. she absolutely knows how to play it and loves to threaten people with the bachi

Pebbles: • the only people he enjoyed doing group projects with were Suns and Wind. he Could do group projects with Moon and Nish but Only if he could race them. rascal found it fun to challenge the nokias 😔 • now with Innocence though? Never. if they were forced to, they could do a great job with minimal communication but they were not going to be happy about it • latched onto Suns exactly because Moon was overbearingly protective and Suns always seems like they couldn't give less of a shit about anyone. sometimes they'd have a videochat open and not say anything for hours as they worked • with Nish he used to like inventing new things. a lot of times the things turned out to be silly or kind of useless which would normally frustrate him, but surprisingly enough Nish made the time spent worth it • Wind's favorite activity was comparing notes with him and then talking about the differences in their research. they'd hum to him happily while the both of them would be sorting through their stuff • i sometimes imagine him having a slight chinese accent and i blame Steven He for this so hard • second most emotional fuck in the group. his emotions mostly rotate around anger, though • he won't admit this to anyone but he really liked it when his and Moon's cans were connected by bridges. it felt like holding hands. he felt more stable. now all he can do is just miss it quietly • was legit surprised when he found out not every iterator has a build in older sister right at their side • his city is called Literally just Metropolis cuz the ancients didn't bother with properly naming it. depeshioumn. • city's representative instrument was adopted straight from Moon since Pebs' citizens were honestly just hers, so- violin it is • Pebbles HAS attempted to learn how to play a violin himself. certainly was a test of patience and puppet dexterity/camera-to-digits control. almost broke the poor thing a few times from nerves

It was a warm day, the soft rays of sun caressing the grass blades on Starsnatch Cliff. You and Venti were currently having a picnic, relaxing on top of the plaid blanket beneath you.

You both were eating various snacks, casually talking about random of subjects.

“Say, Divine One…” Venti trawled, picking up an apple slice from a plate, “What’s your favorite song?”

You had just stuffed a large portion of food in your mouth, so you motioned for him to give you a second to respond. He didn’t seem to notice though, as he continued to speak.

“I wonder… would it be a song from Teyvat, or a song from your old world? Would I know it? Well probably, since I kinda know all songs.”

He giggled to himself, seeing the questioning expression in your face.

Your cheeks were stuffed with dessert, and it looked quite amusing as you tried to chew your food faster.

Finally, you swallowed. You rolled your eyes, responding to his laughter.

“My favorite song would probably be World is Mine”. You said, after some consideration.

“I would always listen to it back when I was younger, and it just really stuck around for me as a comfort song.”

Venti put a hand on his chin, looking off into the distance as if he was pretending to be some wise philosopher.

“Ah, one is most unfamiliar with the tune you speak of.” He croaked, absolutely nailing his impression of an old man. You were almost sure he was impersonating a certain funeral consultant, but you decided not to comment on that.

You choked on your drink, snorting as you laughed.

“Seriously?” You asked, jokingly raising your eyebrows. “The tone-deaf bard has never heard of World is Mine? One is quite shocked.”

“Divine One…!” He pouted, pretending to be offended.

“Could you tell me who sang that song? I might be able to recognize it from that.” He asked, leaning closer to you.

You sucked in a breath, looking wistfully off into the skyline. The sun has began to set, bringing an orange glow across your features.

“Our Queen, Hatsune Miku.” You said, placing a hand over your heart.

“Uh… Queen?” He asked, looking over at you in complete confusion.

“Luscious teal hair that flows to the ground, an angelic voice that none other could rival, the keeper of the leeks… Miku.”

You smiled, reminiscing about your days in middle school.

The hours spent listening to Miku and the other vocaloids, the time spent watching her music videos, seeing her change outfits for the 100th time in a song.

Truthfully, it brought the beginnings of tears to your eyes.

“D-don’t cry Your Grace!” Venti exclaimed, panicking at your state. “I’m sorry for not knowing the song…”

You grinned, looking back over in his direction. “It’s alright, don’t worry about it. I just was remembering my old life before I came here. Miku was my favorite singer of like… literally EVER. I used to adore her so much, always collecting plushies, merch, and even going to one of her concerts. That was one of the happiest days of my life.”

2. (dates and activities)

They are both focus-minded and on track when there are some matters they need to tend to. On missions, they trust each other to handle it on their own but they still prefer going in pairs.

Nika tries to recommend to Damian some of her favorite K-pop bands by playing the songs in speakers. It's rather hard for Damian to just enjoy the music alone because Nika is constantly dancing along with it, and he can't take his eyes off her to focus on the lyrics instead. (Damian found himself ending up enjoying most of the songs she loves)

Damian would recommend some of his favorite Vocaloid/Anime songs to Nika. Nika likes them a lot, and they have a shared playlist. To remember each other by adding different songs to it. They both enjoy asking questions or guessing what the lyrics are reminding them of each other.

Nika had picked one of their favorite songs to practice the choreography of it secretly, then surprised Damian with the dance she had prepared on his birthday with his family presented. They were having a great time, and Damian's family can't tease him too much about it because this is his b-day. Damian blushes hard and smiles so much on that day, and that’s the most important thing to Nika. (He gave her a thankful kiss later in the garden so that no one could sneak on them)

Damian is often accompanied by Nika to her favorite underground place to see live band music(subculture/ emo/ punk rock music), and goes free and crazy with the small crowd. (Damian found it loud and wild just like Nika and her dazzling smile)

Nika would drag Damian to the K-pop concerts that she love, and explain the K-pop group's history to him, talking about the competition between the groups for the music chart rank which Damian found quite interesting.

They went to the art museums and discussed which types of art resonated with them the best. Sometimes they went to the local gallery to see their favorite indie art and promised each other that if the said artist had some new art exhibitions, they would go again together.

They went to the museum where's dinosaur and prehistoric animals exhibition located, talked and discussed dinosaurs and prehistoric mystery, and came home with some dinosaur figures and some bone variants too.

Damian talked to Nika about his original character- Damian Vane's story/script, that he has been writing about and showed his design and drawings of it. Nika took an interest in the lore and sketched some fan art for Damian, happily hyping him up.

Nika often likes to ask Damian if he has made new art because she loves his creativity and his detailed drawing art style. And Damian is keen on encouraging Nika to do more art and gives her art tips all the time. They exchange comments and discuss their newest artwork with each other.

I'm glad you like my art of him! I've been drawing him for 9-ish years now, but it's always nice to hear other fans of his also like my art! I don't actually talk to a lot of Oliver fans haha.

I always really really admired Dappleback/Lawlietlk's designing skill, and I had a whole presentation how much I appreciated his character design and how it lead back into why I think as a vocaloid he has one of the best designs.

Like don't get me wrong, Vocaloid (and other synths) have really good designs, just sometimes they aren't necessarily as good as Vocaloid designs y'know?

Like hear me out, I feel like the biggest appeal of vocaloid mascots is this: They can be whatever you want. Now on one hand you can argue that 'no mascot' is even Moreso freedom and should have worked better than mascot, but what's missing is the intrigue. There is a breeding ground of creativity hidden beneath restriction.

Like, often enough what people need most in order to create something is just a guideline, and for me that's what Oliver offers. Like, sometimes, too much canon is a bad thing, and people need to remember that.

The #1 selling point of Oliver's design is the intrigue his design offers. There's so much of it that once changed loses that 'space of expression.' And yet, no matter how much you are able to change, he also is able to maintain that 'constant' that lets you know that yes, that is still him, even if you change it. I don't have it anymore but it's been years, but I had a whole chart explaining it.

Over the years Oliver has gotten a lot of motifs and concepts assigned to him, that only derive from smaller aspects of his designs, for example: His bandages.

While you may argue it's not entirely unique, that is exactly the beauty of it. It's because of that so many different concepts stem from it.

One of the biggest themes correlated with Oliver is a monster/horror theme and you have the bandages to thank for it. The amount of concepts I've seen born from the sheer mystery of his bandages were so vast it's crazy. Whether it's because he's a cryptid/monster/cursed or otherwise, people are forced to make an effort to use that "why?"

And on the flip side, there is other mysteries people find from his bandages that aren't horror, they're instead going for something else: A poor waif, a vigilante, a witch, and etc. Through the simple [why], Oliver becomes limitless.

And while we're still discussing his bandages, there is elsewhere you can find beauty in his design. I know a lot of his fans are or were children when they became fans of him, and I know for a fact that some of them related to his design. It's not like he had much to go against them in thinking that-- and it's not just because of his song. For me as a child I projected onto him as a (character) as someone I could relate to. That's uh, probably why a lot of people tend to use him for horror or darker stuff. I know that some people are... unsavory, but that's why I don't really like when people hate on horror content made from him. I know a lot of people are weird about him, but it's a form of self-expression all the same.

Even aside from his bandages, his design still manages to offer intrigue. While Miku allows herself to be a blank canvas (being a mascot with very little ties, a digital idol who represents exactly that) Oliver is more like... a puzzle? Except there is no wrong answer and every time you put it together, it's always different.

There was a lot of misconceptions around his design, but Oliver was based off choirboy outfits-- not that everyone knew that. A lot of people interpreted it as a sailor outfit with nautical themes. That's why you can often see Oliver with sea-themed artworks or songs and/or if it's still around, sea-side waif depictions of him. But on the other side, there were quite a few interpretations of Oliver as a time-traveler- a noble- or hell: a literal bird boy.

Had he been given a more generic design, a more modern one, a more idol-esque version of himself, most of these interpretations of him would not exist. There would be less incentive for people to create that answer without the "why."

I don't really have a proper ranking on a more 'objective' ranking of designs as vocaloid specific mascot designs, but I feel like it's somewhat similar to... actual popularity?

Like... If i had to separate them, there's three categories in a venn diagram: Just straight up Good design (though I'd argue a lot of the other two would still fit in here), Fill-in the blank design, and blank canvas design.

I would say the OG Miku fits in all 3 categories but has been erring into just good design or her own category: too engrained into pop culture to fail.

Fukase is a good example of a Fill-in design, because he also has the classic "why" to his design. (Why is his coat like that? why does he have scars? is he human? is he a robot? Is he circus themed? Who knows?) You can see a lot of exploration of his character through that.

Vflower I feel like is primarily in the blank canvas design, because she more-so encompasses a certain fashion style and is able to attract the blank canvas of gender expression as well.

At the moment, to be honest, I can't really think of someone who only fit's in the straight up good character design but doesn't offer any mystery or fluidity, but that might just be my personality.

To be entirely clear, this venn diagram is probably closer to just a single circle instead of 3, but I'm mostly talking about which part of their design they align most with. (and the most common consensus of how to interpret them.

To be honest this is probably why I feel a bit like a Fake Oliver fan, bc I care more about his design more than his voicebank itself. (Sweats as I look at the vocaloid editor on my computer)

Favorite Usage

I'll only be mentioning the publicly released songs using him, since it's a bit unfair if I recommend you something you either have no access to or I'm unable to find again.

To be honest I'm not a huge fan of some of Oliver's most known producers, mostly because I know they're not great people and refuse to support them. It's none of my business if you still listen to them, but I'd rather not. But, It's nice going down my old masterlist of Oliver originals.

I really like Rawbeans-P, if you ever heard her usage of Oliver, it's crazy stunning. Probably some of the best usage of him you'll ever hear.

Cat in a raincloud I know is relatively popular among my friends that I've pushed Robyn's music onto.

I feel like high up there is also Corasundae, who is honestly has a pretty refreshing (?) song-making style. I'm really not a music guy- meaning I never learnt a lot of terms properly and can't describe a lot of things to you, but I really like the general sound that corasundae uses in her works.

I think T.V.V.S is a pretty iconic song, but I'm emotionally attached to Other Side.

One of the songs I see people rarely talking about is Requiescat in Pace- I get it's probably because it's an older song, but I've always liked how it sounded and was a staple for me as a kid (and still fairly fresh into Vocaloid.) I don't think PARADIGM really released much else, but this song is sooo cool, I think about it a lot!

I'm not sure if you don't like horror, or just disappointed that it's a majority of his songs, but I don't think it's leaning too much into horror? It's really good though!

Another one of my favorite Vocaloid producers (the one I bought a keychain from as well!) is Veran Kuriensu! I found them originally from their original Lay, and it's possibly still one of my favorite Vocaloid Oliver Originals still to this day. While it's my favorite, I do know that they've improved drastically and their other works with Oliver is crazy good, but Lay has a special spot to me and makes me feel especially Nostalgic.

I've always liked how the lyrics sounded as well. I think otherwise my second favorite song from them is 星をあつめに. It's really good I Promise. Please please do give their stuff a chance!!

I feel like another producer I'd recommend for similar reasons to Rawbeans-P is Baggagelizard. He's always forever been kind of a legend to me! He's a super cool guy, and he has really good usage of Oliver's voicebank as well. One of my favorite songs he's done is Song for the forgotten, which was even my Oliver Collab piece back in like... 2016? That's honestly a bit crazy to me seeing how long it's been.

Baggagelizard tends to have such a special sound to the music he makes, I think it's kind of... a morose wistfulness? If you're into this one, I genuinely hope you check out his other works as well!

Actually I'm adding this one, because I really like the atmosphere of it! It's called Tavern and it's a really fun song using Big Al, Oliver, and Kaito and I think it's such a fun song! Apparently other Oliver fans I've recommended it said it wasn't their cup of tea though (′д｀σ)σ.

OH and how could I forget: Childhood Bye-Bye is honestly borderline a classic for me! I think it's a really iconic song, but it always surprises me that it's not as popular as I think it is. The producers other works are also really good!

Oooh, another Producer I can recommend is Compasscat! They use Uni, SeeU, and sometimes Oliver (maybe other vocaloids but I'm actually writing this in class (lol). You should try checking them out! I think I enjoyed it but I've been told the things I like are... different from how other people like things.

Actually, on the thought of not-so dark songs using Oliver, I hardly see any Oliver fans (or Yohioloid) fans talking about Yellow Card. I hadn't listened to it for years, but I still think it's pretty fun to this day, you could try checking it out if you feel like it. While we're at it, I'll add a bunch of special mentions for songs I knew were fairly liked enough when I was deeper into vocaloid but never see people talk about anymore as well. To be honest, I'd have a lot more to add to this list, but a lot of Oliver Originals I really liked are deleted or missing.... I understand it's at the producer's own discretion, but it's a little sad.

Unfortunately, A lot of the Bilibili/Niconico songs that I really liked were deleted or really really hard to access/find, but I'll reblog if I find them again.

i'd like to showcase a character i really like... saki tenma!!!

saki is from a game called project sekai, where 5 groups of teenagers all have worlds in their phones called SEKAIs, manifestations of their emotions and feelings, and in them is hatsune miku (and other vocaloids) to help them figure out their true feelings!

saki is in a rock band called leo/need with her 3 childhood friends. saki is chronically ill, although her exact chronic illness hasn't been mentioned, and had been in and out of the hospital since she was little. during middle school, she was practically always in the hospital, and her and her friends had drifted away, due to all of them having different problems in their lives at the time.

saki's described as having a very physically frail body, along with fainting very easily. she catches illnesses very easily and can make herself sick from overexerting herself, so most fans agree she most likely has some form of an autoimmune illness.

after being deemed healthy enough to return back to school in her first year of highschool, her and her friends eventually reconcile and decide to form a band together, she's the keyboardist! she is very cheerful and tries her hardest to get things done. because of all the time she spent alone in the hospital, she's dead-set on making the most of her life! she loves hanging out with her friends.

she also has an older brother (one year older), tsukasa. the two are very close and have an ADORABLE relationship. tsukasa is an actor/performer, and became one because of saki's support!

overall, i think saki's chronic illness is treated really well in the plot of project sekai. while it does affect her and how her life goes, she isn't reduced to only her chronic illness. she has struggles other than her illness, and has plenty of times she is happy, outgoing and enjoying herself. i think the writers did a very good job writing saki.

also, most importantly, shes adorable! what's not to like?

fun fact: the pink gradient in her hair is completely natural! her brother has a similar natural gradient, but orange rather than pink.

This time relationships with canon characters!!!!!

(They're all subject to change bc,,, I'm inconsistent and everything is still in development teehee)

I'm gonna kinda try to explain these btw

Toshiro! They're in class 2B, which makes then classmates with Mizuki and Toya. They've interacted with Mizuki a few times, but a little more so with Toya! Toshiro kinda admires Toya's demeanor in a way? And good grades/intelligence. Toshiro isn't the best with school, really.

He's a BIG MMJ fan actually. Like, going to all the concerts, following them on social media, absolutely fangirling over them fan. He has a lot of respect for Heruka with the way she holds herself. Actually, I think Toshiro would like to be less all over the place, so he tends to respect people that appear to be call and collected.

They met Ichika somewhere in middle school (though I didn't mark them as childhood friends, idk, just. didn't feel it) and became friends, but got really closer only in high-school, having similar interests (mainly vocaloid), and being able to share experiences and advice about being in a band! (Though I'm still not sure what exactly my Little Guys are. Are they a band..?) Anyways, through Ichika he knows the rest of l/n, but isn't close with them.

Toshiro has crossed paths with Rui, Tsukasa and Nene, being in the same school, and he pretty much thinks all of them are cool, but finds himself respecting Tsukasa's ambition a lot.

Matsu! He's in class 3C, being classmates with ruikasa. They've interacted a little, but not much. He thinks they're both kinda fun, that's about it. He's also interacted with Akito, Toya, and An, but it's the same situation, where he just thinks they're neat. Matsu had also encountered Mizuki before, and he thinks they're extremely cool and loves their style. He's also encountered Shiho in a uh. music store? instrument store? yk. He just thinks she's rlly cool.

Toshiro often drags Matsu with them to MMJ concerts and stuff (which can be a bit overwhelming, but he still likes it and has way of dealing with it pretty easily), and he found himself kinda admiring Airi for her energy! Though he doesn't care that much about the rest of the group, to Toshiro's slight disappointment. (Toshiro constantly tries to get Matsu rlly into MMJ. Matsu thinks it's fun. Maybe he will also become a fan?)

Matsu's and Emu's energy kinda match, so at some point they met and became friends! I haven't really come up with how they met though,,,, yet.

Fumi! She's not as social as the other members and doesn't have that many connections to canon characters. She's in class 2A, but isn't close with any of her classmates!

They've come across both Rui and Tsukasa while they were running away from a teacher, so. Fumi might kinda think these two are a little annoying. Which is understandable ig,,,,

With Shiho it's a similar story as with Matsu, they've seen her in a music store and the two kinda darted talking and their energy also somewhat matches, so over time they became friends! Fumi likes Shiho's vibe and often talks about music stuff with her. Overall, Fumi might be a bit judgemental, but she has her reasons. I think,,

Oh, also, Mafuyu! They've only interacted for a short period of time, but something about Mafuyu makes Fumi admire him in a way? (Though I did mark it as respect)

Finally, Seina! She's in Miyamasuzaka in the same class as Mafuyu. The two haven't interacted all that much, but Mafuyu once helped her, so Seina has a positive opinion of him.

She once came across the Shinonome siblings in a café she works at part-time (fun fact!), while they were arguing about something (flavor of cheesecak idk), and ended up having a small conversation with both after taking their order.

She's friends with Shizuku because, yea, again, somewhat similar energy, I think they'd get along. Ended up meeting the rest of MMJ through her, and thinks Haruka is very cool. When Toshiro found out Seina knew MMJ personally, he almost passed out.

Also, Seina ended up meeting Ichika through Toshiro. She thinks Ichika is sweet and whenever she comes to the Cafe Seina works at (which isn't that often, but still), she likes to chat with her a little.

The studio where Ritsuka and the band had practiced for a long time was empty at the moment; you couldn’t hear Akihiko’s strange jokes, you didn’t feel the calm presence of Mafuyu, you didn’t see Nakayama who always well dressed. Instead it was just you and your boyfriend rehearsing new songs, getting into conversation with you from time to time. So you sat across from him, carefully watching him play the electric guitar. Sometimes you asked the boy a quick question about music, and sometimes you asked him out of curiosity if he was tired or hungry – in case of the latter need, you wanted to take out the bento prepared for the two of you and a paper bag with sweet buns with cottage cheese that you bought on your way to meet a high school student.

However, Ritsuka didn’t seem to be tired or hungry right now. His face was calm, his eyes was focused, his heart beating at a steady rate and his breathing was calm. He looked really good, you could also say, really manly. You liked the sight and you were really delighted that Uenoyama became interested in you more than half a year ago and was the first to ask about being in a relationship.

“... What are you thinking about, Y/N?” A man’s voice pulled you out of a small trance, and you only blinked your eyes a few times, smiling at the young man.

“About you, about us.” You answered truthfully, which made the boy only chuckle.

“I see.”

Ritsuka was a really cute boy; he had so many qualities you loved; he kept making your face blush warmly and your belly tingle pleasantly. Your boyfriend was always honest and helpful, he was always there when you needed support or conversation. He never got angry and instead carefully explained your mistakes and ill-considered decisions. He was intelligent, talented, conscientious, and always tried to make your relationship flourish. He didn’t have much savings, but he loved to buy you a flower or your favorite cookies from time to time.

“... I don’t like changes and I don’t know anything about colors...” A calm song echoed through the small room, and you lifted your head to look at the seventeen-year-old. His soft, but also uncertain voice was really penetrating. “It’s good that I have you. Do everything as you want... You know me well enough – I wish it stayed as it is.” He added a little more confidently, and you immediately straightened your back.

Your loving gaze was now focused only on his parted lips, small nose, shining eyes, ruddy cheeks and sometimes fingers holding a guitar.

“Breath, hair, touch at night. And how do you know so much? Do you stray or do you have a goal?” He smiled hesitantly, and you returned the smile, making the teenager gain confidence. “Where you go, take me along. The only thing I want is to have a view on your day...” He finished singing and the guitar stopped. “I don’t have the whole song written down yet, but I was thinking of you when I wrote it...” He admitted, and you, touched by his words, only moved closer to the black-haired male, inhaling his sweet scent.

Your hearts were beating in unison now.

@kingsnooz first of all omg im so sorry for misunderstanding it twice 😅 second of all I kinda had to turn this into a post because I wanna explain it

I'm not familiar with professional VA's but I'll agree with everyone else that Dana Snyder fits the dedede role! I don't think Ted Lewis (the old KRBAY VA) fits the dedede role anymore, it sounds too much like "old dedede" than it is "modern dedede" if you know what i mean?? ALSO there's a short animatic I did of kirby and dedede with tom and jerry's voice and I think tom's voice also fits dedede's voice in a way! Of course we can't forget the slight texan accent!

As for kirby, well this is specific but I think Toodles (from tom and jerry)'s voice fits with him! Another option is Qi Xuan (yes, the vocaloid) voice also fits him if tuned correctly. Again, this is super specific but I've been listening to a lot of vocaloid lately so that's gonna explain a bit. I'm not a big fan of super high-pitched kirby voice, I like it sounding a bit more lower and natural if you know what i mean

As for meta I'm pretty content with how he already sounds like in the anime dub, but I think the VA definitely overdid the accent. For the more modern setting though, I think Frylock's VA also fits him a lot! Think it'll be funny if he have a normal american accent but increases his mexican accent once he gets angry, but it's even FUNNIER vice versa.

And sadly- I don't have much in mind when it comes to bandee's VA :( I always like to imagine kirby shares the same VA with bandee- but with a lower tone and a slight texan accent (sharing the same accent with dedede). Unfortunately I can't find any VA that fits the criteria

I love Vivid BAD SQUAD to death but their sekai doesn't make any sense to me. Not the fact that it's a street, I get that, but rather the feelings that made their sekai.

VBS' true feelings is about their shared dream: wanting to surpass RAD WEEKEND. However that's where they lost me. This sekai is made from the feelings of all four of them right? Then how come this sekai existed without Kohane being even aware of RAD WEEKEND? I'm confused on when the sekais formed. For me it's either when they were younger and the vocaloids were watching them like I've seen so much fanart of, or right before the start of the main story is when the sekais' feelings were strong enough to create this entire world (empty sekai being the exception, I don't think it was ever stated when the first time was mafuyu entered the sekai). This all could very much be established somewhere but idk so lmk if it is.

Back to VBS, let's look at the start of their main story. At that point Kohane has no idea what RAD WEEKEND is, but the sekai already existed, she was transported there at the same time as An in ch1. Now riddle me this, if sekai's exist to make someone realize their true feelings, is it possible to have those true feelings about something you don't know the existence of yet? This always came off as weird to me.

The 'virtual singers were watching over them as children' theory doesn't really make sense with VBS either, because not only will the problem with Kohane also apply to Toya, in Period of Nocturne it was established that the vocaloids never knew about Toya's family issues and his situation. That wouldn't make sense if they were watching over him.

My best guesses for an explanation: the street sekai originally was only made of An and Akito's feelings which somehow someway Toya and Kohane's feelings got added to, or surpassing RAD WEEKEND isn't exactly what their true feelings are. VBS has always had this theme about goals for your future. Kohane used to never take any risks and had no goal which made her life empty of excitement, An dreamed from the monent she saw RAD WEEKEND to follow into her father's footsteps and surpass the event he, Nagi and Taiga put on, Akito has this whole complex of if you're not serious about reaching your goal you're not deserving of it, and Toya was never able to do what he wanted for his future but after Tsukasa helped him to be able to stand up against his father he was finally able to follow his own dreams.

Making your dreams come true / the importance of having something to strive for / never giving up on reaching your goals, something like that reminds me of VBS and their feelings. That would explain the contradiction to me, but who knows what the real answer is.

The cadence in his voice had changed; slower, more hesitant. I might be biased because he is one of my 5 baby girls and the only one from beyblade for that matter, But… he’s a genuenly good character ngl. Good job for the story writers for writing him well.

✨10/10✨ straight up one of the best characters in the series. He is my third favorite so I’m way way WAY more biased with Hyde that how I am with Phi lmao. He deserves all of the nice things in the world. It just cause, at first, you think he’s also a jerk like his brother, but he just acts out and acts that way because Phi… didn’t really care for him. It becomes more obvious as the season goes on. It just makes you sad and it makes you want to hug Hyde. Also. I like the color purple. I’m biased. Enough said
