Jack walks in slightly out of breath and drenched in blood, trailing some drips behind him.

"Honey, I'm home."

"This is not your house," Killian responds, "What were you—"

Killian slings his arm over the back of the couch and turns around to face Jack but stops mid-sentence to openly stare at him as he kicks a stray string of blood off the tip of his shoe. Probably staring for a beat too long.

"Where have you been today?"

"I was getting your gift."

Jack walks over and flourishes his wrist in a burst of blue sparkle and summons a wine bottle into existence. An onyx sheen to the thing with a full neck wax seal, tiny spots of blood splattered across the vintage looking label.

"AB negative. Usually, I don't like getting this messy for something so small, but the vampires at the vineyard were being real coffin cases about the whole thing. So, your welcome."

Killian glances at the bottle in his hand for only a second before following Jack with his eyes as he walks off.

"Thanks," he says, "but don't bother cleaning up. It's a good look, you should be fighting vampires more often."

He grins as Jack loudly snorts from across the room.

Fun fact this little idea is also the origin of this scribble from one of the doodle dumps. He turned around and learned something new about himself. He was looking VERY respectfully.

At face value, these scenes seem incredibly similar 

In both scenes, Gloreth and Ambrosius are watching terrified as their homes are burning down around them because of a “monster” 

But that’s where the similarities stop

Because in the first scene, Gloreth decides to listen to everything that her community has told her 

And in the second scene, Ambrosius has finally figured out that everything he’s been told since he was a kid is a lie

Coriolanus Snow and Anakin Skywalker are perfect examples of really interesting characters who had every chance to do the right thing but repeatedly chose wrong even though they were surrounded by good people, all because they had one person whispering in their ear and convincing them to be selfish and to hurt people instead. There is no point where they have to do what they do, it’s their choices that make them compelling.

They’re also both incredibly controlling over the women they claim to love but are quick to try and physically harm them when they realise that they’re actually human beings who will not blindly follow them. It’s very clear they were possessive, not actually in love. To sincerely love is to respect someone’s agency and neither of them were capable of that.

Another trait they both share is that, despite being layered and well written but fundamentally flawed characters who turn to evil by their own free will, if you cast an attractive actor to play them, there are always going to be people who blindly ignore the entire plot just to defend them and justify their actions. Being a victim of abuse or oppression does not excuse you from being a perpetrator.
