I've really missed you guys, by the way. I know I've said that already, but I'm serious. Once or twice this year I've been right on the brink of coming back but schedule stuff always keeps me from letting myself commit to that again, and that in turn has kept me from posting anything at all. But I've been in an unexpected drawing mood lately and so if I can get enough stuff to set up a queue we might pretend I'm back for a month or so sometime this year. Maybe. Hopefully. We'll see. No promises though. That's why I'm hiding this paragraph under the cut.

17) From an unfinished WIP

Pure Vanilla Cookie was having trouble sleeping. It was not an overabundance of energy keeping him from the throes of slumber; quite the opposite, in fact. Exhaustion weighed on both his body and mind more heavily than it had done in a long while, yet something deep within him simply refused to let him rest. Restlessness stirred in his aching joints, a sense of prickling unease burdening his mind persistently. The Beasts had been locked away once more, and Dark Enchantress Cookie had yet to approach the Silver Tree- by all means, the period of planning they were going through just then should have provided the perfect source of respite. And yet, whenever he finally did manage to drift off into oblivion, his dreams were consistently plagued by all the awful memories he had acquired during Shadow Milk's brief escape into the Faerie Kingdom. Pure Vanilla had never been one to shame another for experiencing nightmares: he understood the effect that trauma had on one's psyche, and was hardly going to belittle a cookie for something far beyond their control. Unfortunately for him, however, it appeared that his mind was quite adamant on upholding the image he had created thus far of the unfaltering Hero he had upheld for years. It was up to him to be a light in the current period of darkness they all were facing, a strong pillar of support that the younger cookies could lean on when overwhelmed by the gravity of the task before them. Pure Vanilla didn't dare approach White Lily about his troubles, not when they were already on rocky ground and she had enough to concern herself with as it was. Hollyberry, Dark Cacao and Golden Cheese had yet to arrive from Crispia, and his only other potential confidants were children, so Pure Vanilla thought it best to keep to himself. A few nightmares were hardly the end of the world, after all. He was quite certain that he was overdramatising the matter entirely. What he saw in his dreams could not hurt him, no matter how often it resulted in him jolting awake while the moon still shone above them. Pure Vanilla Cookie was as safe as he could be just then, and he was positive that there was nothing to worry about in the slightest.

TMP 4 anyhow #Unfortunately I'm of the belief that they do actually weaken from inbreeding lol - maybe not that sophisticated but like #I'm pretty sure the further you get along the more demanding they are so if you want to raise a ''perfect'' lineage it takes some work! #For the first playthrough we got the cute chonky lads - there named Bay and Bug (nicknamed Lord and Lady for funsies) #And then their babies and then /their/ babies lol #At this point I still only had the Osutchi so I only got to see Bug and Pollina in passing but Bug was soooo cuuuuute #Such adorable little designs <3 I might like the stark mostly-black with white detail designs the most haha #The generations ended with the Mesu first and smol tapped out - fair since I was starting to get tired myself #I still raised them for a bit but I eventually failed at getting the final-final evolution while I was on track #I came back and he had died from sickness :( Poor weak immunity lad </3 #But I've restarted again and am playing solo :) I'm on TMP 2 and about to move to 3! With different evolutions! #I've also set the clocks a bit differently so they're not waking me up early anymore lol - it's just nicer all around :) #And! And!! I got a Gen2 rerelease! :D #Another died to sickness >:0 But at least I got them to adulthood first and Gen2s don't reproduce haha #I'm planning to play through as many of the evolutions as I can - I really want the alien lookin' guy!
