(Basic context is that AU of Duel Desinties where the phantom impersonates Phoenix to get him found guilty of Clay's murder, I talk more under the cut abt it jkhlj)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Basically meant to be a parallel to turnabout trump, cause if you can have ONE boss get found guilty of murder, why not a second one?
-OK basically: everything in DD happens normally until like- a day before clays murder, Phoenix gets yoinked by the phantom somehow (he is still alive, just being held captive), Phantom is still Fulbright, but they've decided to be silly goofy (target Phoenix and get him found guilty of murder, escape police custody and then murder phoenix and make it seem like Phoenix accidentally died while on the run, thats why they didn't kill phoenix right away unlike the real Fulbright) there is an imposter amo-
-I dont have the logistics as to how this affects solving Metis's murder, and how it effects what evidence is used n whatnot and turnabout for tomorrow as a whole, so im just going nuts HGJKHLJ
-Originally I was actually imagining this taking place during turnabout for tomorrow and I wanted that case to be apollo v klavier instead of phoenix and edgeworth and thats why klav is in here instead of Simon (I decided that Simon got badly injured and couldn't stand in court for the retrial, so klavier was asked to step in)
-The courtroom bombing still happens the same way it does normally, but Apollo decides to take up the case again instead of taking a leave, instead of like, you know, healing from the traumatic event that just happened, turnabout countdown still happens as well
-Apollo and Athena do not find out about the phantom's existence until well after this trial, so they have no idea that Phoenix could've possibly been replaced, though simon, after hearing about the trial, might be suspicious about whether or not that was the real Phoenix
-The Phantom had been not only keeping an eye on Simon for a while, but was also stalking Phoenix and Edgeworth after they both started looking into UR-1, so they were able to impersonate phoenix so well that not even his own daughter thought that anything was up (though while Trucy did find him a *little* bit off, but she figured that it might've been the bombing that caused him to act ever so slightly weird, so she didn't pay much mind to it until she heard about his confession in court and realized it might've been because he possibly, ya know, killed someone)
-it's pretty much just switching Athena being framed for murder with Phoenix, and instead of the trial ending on a cliffhanger, it continues on (probably with Klavier insisting on it) ending with soloman being found innocent and Phoenix being declared guilty
-There's a couple days inbetween the end of the cosmic turnabout and the start of turnabout for tomorrow, so Athena, Apollo and Trucy all get a little bit to process the fact that "oh god my boss/my dad killed someone" (simons execution date is pushed back a bit in this au) and they probably get to talk with Klavier and eventually a lil bit with Simon after he gets out
-Im not sure how it all winds down in turnabout for tomorrow (Phoenix escaping and being at large is basically the perfect cover for the phantom to resume being fulbright for that trial) but they do eventually realize that the phoenix who confessed wasn't the real one and now there's a search on going to find out where the real one is being held captive, hes fineeee just ready to take a week long nap and a good vacation (along with every other waa member)
-I dont have anything else to add on rn but if you want to add something or just throw in a scenario feel free to!! this idea has been bouncing around my head for like a month now and Im very happy to finally show yall it

Hello lipgloss, I'm sorry this took so long it was put of for a while :/ I really do appreciate you taking time to send in stuff because I don't think I'm going to get a lot of Ada asks but it's alright.
Anyways, I wrote a little drabble about that incident you asked about 🤭
Pairing: Stepmom!ada x female reader.
Disclaimers: stepcest, cussing, fingering.
:¨ ·.· ¨: `· . ꔫ
She's pretty. She's got the type of figure to die for. She's charming and has the persona of an angel according to your dad. Ada was in fact exactly what your dad described her, like the brightest star that shone in the dim sky.
She had moved in months ago, your life felt more vibrant. She filled the gap your mother left all those years ago, her motherly instincts kicking in when she knew something was wrong. But she also felt like a friend. Ada was rather young, a lot younger than your dad she was only about five years older than you. So it felt quite comforting to have someone close to your age in the house to chat to.
But that all changed one evening. Your dad was working a late shift, he had left a sticky note reminding you Ada was still home if you needed anything. He still uses sticky notes instead of just texting you, you really needed to teach him how to use messages.
You wouldn't realise you'd have seen your stepmom naked, dripping wet from the shower. “Oh my god, I'm so sorry!” You ducked your head down and quickly scurried from the bathroom. You didn't hear anything from Ada but you also couldn't see the grin spread across her face.
Later that night, you couldn't stop thinking about how you had walked in on her. Her skin was smooth and unblemished, she had great breasts and they sat just right perky nipples erected. And that's all you could capture before you were fleeing from the bathroom.
A knock sounded at your door, and you jumped from the noise. “Can I come in.” You heard Ada's mellow voice on the other end of the door.
Smoothing your hair down you cleared your thoughts before replying “sure, come on in.” She opened the door before shutting it behind her. “Hi.” She said approaching your bed and sitting down beside you.
“Hey” you nodded biting your lip, had you really just ruined your relationship with a woman who could possibly become your mother figure by seeing her naked?
Before she could speak you interrupted. “I'm so sorry about earlier, I had no idea y-”
“Its fine. It was my fault for not locking the door please don't blame yourself and besides we're both girls.” She winked at you.
That was odd, Ada felt a little of tonight. You didn't really want to think about it but she felt flirty. “So you got a boyfriend?” Alarmed by her question you just went along with her. "I do, but we're probably going to break up things haven't been going so well."
“I see.. would you like me to make it up to you?” Confused by her offer you denied her request. “It's ok Ada, I really don't need anything.”
“I insist It won't take up your whole night.” You caved in at that point “sure then I guess” Still confused you watched her slide of her silk dressing robe. You gasped as she was yet again completely naked. “Ada what are y-” She cut you off. “I saw the way you looked at me in the bathroom, I can make you feel a lot better then your small dick of a boyfriend.” She chuckled crawling over to you. “But my dad-”
“He doesn't need to know sweetheart”
“So can I help you out? Pretty.”
“Please.” You barely whispered, feeling your panties drooling arousal beginning to soil your underwear. “I can help you. She licked the tip of your ear, before giving it a playful tug.
She pulled down your sleeping shorts, pressing her palm against your clothed pussy. Earning a yelp from you as the pressure quickly brought a clouded sense of pleasure to your sleepy brain. Pushing your t-shirt up so your breasts we're exposed to the cool air, she played with one nipple rolling and tugging between her slender fingers before slapping the air. You whimpered, cunt beginning to ache, ache for her fingers to stretch you out.
It had been so long since you had someone penetrate you, weeks since you and your boyfriend had had sex that you were so desperate you were allowing your sexy stepmom to help you out. She yanked your underwear of completely leaving your bottom half exposed. Her eyes we're set on your glistening cunt.
“This all for me pretty? ” you nodded unable to form a coherent sentence your pussy aching to be relieved. Her crimson lips turned up into a smile. “How cute.”
A blush seared across your cheeks as she slid one slender finger into your opening. A stinging pain from being stretched after a while hurt and you hissed in pain, your fingernails digging into your palms. “Look at me.” Ada steered your face towards her own with one manicured hand. “it's ok your going to be ok, sweetheart.”
:¨ ·.· ¨: `· . ꔫ
who actually wants Ada content because..

Not a thot but a question, do you have any headcanons for Frank/Matt/Bucky?
Ohhh yeah I have a few. Thanks for your patience, I wanted to respond to this when I could sit and think and type everything out on my computer, not on my phone. Normal HCs at the top, spicy stuff below the cut.
Matt
Okay so I had this friend in highschool who was beyond disgusted by peanut butter, no allergy just totally hated the stuff. Like wouldn't kiss his girlfriend if she'd eaten it recently. I feel like Matt has an extreme food ick like this. Def not peanut butter but something like olive oil maybe? With his sensitive senses he gags when he even gets a whiff of whatever it is.
Speaking of peanut butter, I think it's a food staple of Matt's. The man can't take care of himself, so cooking full meals is just not a thing for him. So 2AM, back from patrol and he needs something to eat. Matt just eats PB straight out of the jar with a spoon like I did for meals in college.
Frank
Loves karaoke. Well, used to when he lived a more normal life. I don't think he sings amazingly well, but he doesn't care. He plays guitar obviously and Col. Shoonover mentioned his impressions skills, so that all concludes me to the fact the Frank likes to sing. He sings to himself/along with the radio when he's driving by himself between jobs. A lot of John Denver and Elton John.
For a holiday/birthday/anniversary gift one year he absolutely recorded Maria a CD of him playing and singing a few of her favorite songs. He'd probably do the same for you too if you were dating.
Bucky
Has a bit of a video game addiction. He was so fascinated by Stark tech at the fair, that I imagine he loves learning about everything that has come along since, but really got hooked on video games. I'm thinking your standard XBOX, Nintendo or Playstation games like the MLB/Baseball game and the Mario collection. Not big on first person shooter games like Call of Duty cause he's lived it obviously. But he can literally spend hours playing like FIFA or something. Absolutely gets on live to play with Sam, AJ, and Cass all the time.
Spicy Thots under the cut, 18+ please, I tried to keep it gender neutral in terms of x reader
Matt
Is really touchy during sex and also not during sex. Since the visual stimulation of sex obviously isn't there for him, he makes up for it by always having to be pressed against you fully or by having hands roaming and groping everywhere.
But also not during sex he's always grounding himself to you by being pressed as close to you as possible. Only time he isn't is when he's in a Matty Mood™ and feels like he doesn't deserve you or you deserve better or whatever Catholic guilt BS he tells himself. He gets over it eventually.
I feel like he likes really intimate sex but also is really playful during it as well. We saw a glimpse of this in She Hulk but I also think his just generally flirty demeanor hints at this. I'm talking like does things to make you giggle in the middle of sex.
Man also has a bit of a breeding kink. He's absolutely not ready to be a parent because his life is in shambles and as much as he loved his dad, he did not have good parental examples in his life, but regardless of his partner's gender or bodily anatomy, he likes the idea of filling you up, knocking you up and having that claim on you. I'm again blaming the Catholicism somehow.
Frank
The eye contact during sex!!!! Dude lost his whole family so anything good in his life he is afraid is going to slip away so he treasures it and takes it all in. We saw this during S2 with Beth but yeah, big guy just loves to watch every facial expression you make during sex.
He's also just really tender in bed. He's not big on kink stuff but will try it if you want but just wants to feel really connected during sex. He's mostly serious in bed but in a really beautiful and intimate way.
Mostly groans and grunts but loves to thrown in a "c'mon baby girl/boy" and begs for "just one more for me"
Bucky
I wrote a whole spiel about my Bucky bedroom hcs, but here's some more.
Of the three, I feel like Bucky is most playful and open to new things in bed. I don't think any of them are open to a full on Daddy kink, dom-sub kind of play but Bucky is the most likely to lean into elements and try things. After his time being under someone else's control I think he likes to feel a little in control, especially of his own body and sex life. But again, not fully into that type of dynamic. Like he might like to boss you around a little or call you dirty names in bed. Afterall, 1940s Bucky was a total flirt and very smooth with the ladies, so it stands to reason in bed he'd still bring some of that out.

Say Yes (2) | pjm + jjk

‹ previous | next › » warning(s) › stalking, jikook missing you hours, nothing really happens » pairing(s) › jungkook x reader x jimin | student(s) x professor » word(s) › 1.1k+ » note(s) › yes. this is a repost from @/googikoo <3. also, I have to re-write the first chapter because it got lost in the void. so for now... just bare with me until I remember what the hell I wrote lol.
Tumblr media
[01:24pm] "I miss her..." Jungkook sighs dreamily. It's their free period and what better way to spend it than watching you go about your day? You have watched them sit at your desk to grade papers, talk with other students, or just stroll around campus.
Right now, they're watching you walk down the entrance hall with one of their other professors. Professor Kim Namjoon. They know you're most likely discussing lesson plans but they can't help but feel a pang of envy when they see you with someone that isn't them.
"She's avoiding us."
Jimin stares at you until you make eye contact. Your chest rises slightly before falling, and they know you haven't forgotten what happened the last time you three were in a room together.
"She's just being shy, Hyung..." Jungkook counters but Jimin simply hums at the younger's naivety. It's cute.
You swiftly bow to excuse yourself when one of your students, Yeonjun, stops you from leaving. Jimin can see your smile is strained. He knows you know he's watching you. You leave without looking back. Jimin's gaze follows you until you are out of sight. You take a few deep breaths to regain your composure.
"Fucking Teacher's Pet..." Jimin rolls his eyes but he can't help the irritation that's bubbling up inside of him. And as you walk away with Yeonjun following close behind, it takes everything in Jimin to look away. He takes deep, sharp breaths to push that ugly green monster down.
Though, the more Jimin thinks about it, the more he notices a pattern.
Every time they see you, you're with a student or teacher. At this point, they know you're doing it intentionally. They can't blame you. In light of what happened last time, you can never be too careful. Being alone with them is something you tried to avoid. Even inside your classroom. They know this. They love watching you struggle to remain professional in their presence while their seated at their desk.
Watching.
Waiting.
You can sense the tension rising with every passing day. They know you wouldn't go to the dean for the simple fact, you don't want any of this getting out. You don't want to lose our job either.
Even though it would make it much easier for them.
"How do we get her to see us again?"
"We have to wait."
Jungkook frowns at his words. He doesn't want to wait. If he could, he would whisk you away from everything and everyone. Keep you locked away, not only for his benefit but for your safety. Jungkook knows he can't rush things. He knows he needs to give you time and space to come to terms with the situation.
But... It's hard to do that with you flaunting your curves all over campus.
They also know they can't give you too much space or you'll think they've given up on you. Which is far from the case.
Jimin hearts plummets to the floor when he realizes who you're with now. His nose twitching with irritation.
"She's with him. Again."
Jimin's expression shifted from one of contentment to one of resentment when he noticed you speaking with Professor Kim Seokjin, your spouse. His grumbling betrayed his growing frustration, his inability to tear his gaze away from the couple whose joy seemed to be exclusive.
He sighed and glances away, forlorn as he pulls out his phone to type out a message to send you.
[01:46pm] Jimin: Meet us in your office, love.
Jimin adds the pet name for shits and giggles, knowing how you feel about them when Seokjin says them to you. They watch you when you make eye contact with Jimin as he smirks. He sees you shutter before frowning at your watch.
"Hyung..." Jungkook whines, catching Jimin's attention. He can't lie, he misses you too. He can't tell you how many times he replayed that video for his viewing pleasure. He's been content with it but he'll want the real thing very soon.
You lean up to kiss your husband's cheek. Jungkook and Jimin faces twist in disgust when you mouthed the words 'I love you' to him.
Pretty soon, you'll be theirs and you’ll be saying that to them. They’ll make sure of it.
"C'mon." Jimin tugs on Jungkook's jacket as he watches you walk back toward your office. You're picking your nails. They know you're nervous.
"Where are we going, hyung?"
"To her office."

undertale yellow spoilers!
spoilers for the end of undertale yellow's no mercy route, neutral route, and major parts of pacifist. please do not read if you do not wish to be spoiled. you have been warned.
i apologize for any possible inaccuracies. i tried to be as accurate as possible by rewatching cutscenes, but there's always a chance i got things wrong. it also might be a bit rambly because i wrote them as messages. still, i have a lot of thoughts on this decision undertale yellow made, which i'd like to believe i backed with solid evidence. and in the end, it is only my opinion. i'd just like to have my point of view seen.
so, in regards to martlet and undertale yellow's no mercy route:
i think martlet is the perfect choice as no mercy's last stand, actually.
in undertale, it's sans, and yeah, he shows that he's menacing no matter what route you're on, but for the most part he comes off as a goofy slacker with some mysteries.
it's the fact that the player drives him to the state where he has to do something, because they're on a killing spree with nobody spared, literally. and he reveals that he's actually been working hard on all the time anomaly shenanigans behind the scenes that make sans such a good character to be the last defense between the player and asgore (until flowey kills him, and then the player kills flowey, and then chara kills the player...)
with undertale yellow, martlet is a very optimistic and genuine person. she's a bit of an airhead, but she still tries her best as a member of the royal guard. all the other major bosses fight clover in pacifist for reasons such as mistaking clover for the blue soul believing to be tracked down by them and defending themselves (dalv), blaming clover for their ruined relationships and believing that bringing in their soul themselves will repair their reputation (starlo), and of course, requiring clover's soul in a last-ditch effort to save their daughter from being at death's door (ceroba).
martlet is literally going by protocol. she's following the rules to the letter, and gets confused when clover refuses to attack, not even doing so herself before she gets to the part where she's allowed to. and the part where clover insults her behavior as a royal guard is where she falters and decides to spare clover, because it's true. her best isn't enough for them. the royal guard is under asgore's rule to take human's souls for monsterkind, but that isn't enough for her to finish the job.
this is where you keep in mind martlet and chujin's conversation that clover sees in the no mercy route. her mentor, that she admired and was close to, is extremely cautious of humans due to the incident with the blue soul. but even after knowing the damage they can cause, she has hope that not all of them are bad, as she'll say in no mercy herself.
so that's why in no mercy, when clover is delivering their twisted sense of justice and killing every monster they can, she knows she has to stop them. in the first encounter, after she realizes clover is the culprit, she tosses the guide book and puts everything she's got into the fight. but that, just as well, isn't enough. she has to retreat because they're too powerful, even though clover could continue their rampage. but still, after almost dying to them, she tries to convince them to end the violence because she wants to believe that they have an ounce of sympathy for their victims.
if no mercy is aborted, when clover meets her on the roof, she throws away the determination serum she picked up from the lab just like in regular neutral. because she sees that, at least in one instance, they didn't choose murder. and that's good enough for her. that's all it takes, even if flowey goes in for the kill and martlet blames clover. she only goes so far to do so in her dying moments, and because flowey purposefully hid in the shadows, so how would she know it wasn't them?
when no mercy is fully initiated, she doesn't even instigate the combat; clover does. they're so trigger-happy that they waste no time. and at that point she has to use the last weapon monsterkind has to prevent clover from reaching asgore. she waited until the last moment, hoping clover would change their mind. but when there's no hope for them, she harnesses that determination to become the most powerful monster in the underground, the zenith of monsterkind. she'll wield the determination to deliver justice unto clover.
even if it kills her.

Why do so many people believe JGY framed MXY and that the watchtowers were the same as the Wen Sect’s Yiling supervisory offices?
Ha, okay. So, there's kind of two reasons.
The first is that people really like to hate JGY and will totally make shit up and are way predisposed to accept any explanations that make him look bad. "Wait, just like the mob in MDZS?" Exactly like the mob in MDZS. I've said it before, but if this were a novel where WWX's story was framed like JGY's, fandom would be 100% convinced that he cursed Jin Zixun, and probably most people would think he killed Jin Zixuan on purpose too.
For the framing MXY specifically I should also add that last time I wrote about this people pointed out that people want MXY to be innocent, since not only did he have a shitty home life but also he's the only canonically queer character aside from Wang//xian and if he's harassing someone that's just.... really unfortunate.... And I do think that's true and it's an important motivation for people. But I also think that if the guy he was supposed to have harassed was a character people actually liked, people wouldn't conclude that JGY framed him. Some people would probably think he was actually guilty; a lot of people would try to hold them both as blameless. Instead it's mostly just JGY who gets blamed.
The second reason for these positions on MXY and on the watchtowers is, unfortunately, CQL.
When it comes to MXY, first and most obviously, CQL added JGY to his vengeance spell. This isn't the case in MDZS at all, but I think the logic is fairly obvious: if MXY is looking for revenge against JGY, maybe it's because JGY harmed him, in which case.... I do actually think there's a bit of a problem with an argument that uses the CQL-only fact of JGY being a vengeance target, and combines it with the MDZS-only fact of JGY not QS being the one he'd harassed, but such is life. In any case it's not a watertight argument, you can totally see how MXY would want revenge even if he was 100% absolutely guilty, but I think it does help explain why people think in that direction.
But there's also a specific line from WWX, after he wakes up after the cultivation conference:
Now I know who is Mo's last enemy. As soon as he's dead, the curse will lift naturally. It's Jin Guangyao. Now, in any case, would not believe that Mo Xuanyu was expelled from Jinlintai because he harassed madam Jin. I'm afraid he knew what Jin Guangyao's secret was and wanted to tell Qin Su, but Jin Guangyao took the initiative to kick him off.
(Episode 42)
This is never followed up on, of course. You will also observe that in light of what we know about JGY's actual secrets this doesn't make any sense. MXY wanted to tell Qin Su that....JGY killed NMJ? The only secret it would possibly make sense to go to QS specifically with is the whoops incest secret, and the only way MXY could possibly know that is if NHS arranged for him to find out, and NHS has no reason to do that and a great deal of reason not to; it would be an enormous risk (JGY might trace it back to him!) and it's well before NHS has all his ducks lined up in a row. Frankly I'm not even sure if NHS actually knew yet at that point in the timeline.
As a side note, I love how this theory posits that MXY knew an important and dangerous secret about JGY, which he attempted to reveal, and JGY's response was to frame him and let him back out into the world. Like, yes, back into the bosom of his abusive family, but man, what a risk to take! I am pretty much of the opinion that if MXY were actively opposed to JGY while also knowing a dangerous secret he'd be dead, because JGY would have arranged to have him killed, because duh. He might hold him captive instead if he really liked him, or felt like MXY had helped him or his mother or something, but in no case is just sending him back to his family on the table.
And when it comes to the watchtowers, the comparison to the supervisory offices is made in the conversation WWX overhears on his way to JL's celebration.
"Jin clan has come across a series of happy events. Little Childe Jin is about one month old. All Jin clan are over the moon. I hear His excellency wants to set up lookouts around the land."
"Lookouts? Recently several clans are arguing over this. Is there an agreement?"
"What is to argue over? I think the lookout is a great idea. On one hand, it can monitor situations from place to place. On the other hand, it passes messages immediately. I don’t know what they are arguing about."
"I don’t think so."
"What if…it would become another Wen’s Supervisory Office?"
"Are the two the same? Jin clan is only in charge of building lookouts. They are managed by all clans."
"Be that as it may, managing it jointly will finally turn into managing it alone by Jin clan of Lanling."
"I hear the idea was proposed by Jin Guangyao. Even if Red Blade Master disagree with building lookouts, he is supposed to attend first-month celebration of Jin Zixuan’s son."
(Episode 31)
This, on the other hand, is the conversation WWX overhears in MDZS:
One of them asked, “Chief Cultivator? Seems like the big sects have been arguing over this for the past while. Have they come to a conclusion yet?”
“What is there to argue about? We can’t be a heap of loose sand, a group without a leader forever, can we? To set a cultivator who watches over all of the sects—I don’t see anything wrong with that.”
“It’s not that good, is it? What if another QishanWen Sect…”
“How could that be the same? The Chief Cultivator is elected by all the sects. They’re different, they’re different.”
“Hah, they say it’s an election, but everyone knows in their hearts. No matter what, it’s the same few people who’s competing, isn’t it? Is there any space for others?”
“ChiFeng-Zun is quite against it, isn’t he? He’s tried to stop Jin GuangShan so many times, implied or otherwise. In my opinion, there’s still a long time before they finish mulling over it.”
“And there can be only one person who sits in the position of Chief Cultivator. If it really passed, whom exactly the person should be would take another few years of arguing over, I suppose.”
“It’s the worry of those who sit at the top, anyways. None of our business. It’s not like little shrimps like us could have any control over it even if we wanted to.”
Someone suddenly changed the subject, “Did any of you attend the completion ceremony of the Cloud Recesses’ Library Pavilion? Well, I went. I stood there and looked, and it was the exact same as how it was before. A difficult undertaking indeed.”
“Yeah, very difficult. It was such a huge cultivational residence, an ethereal realm of hundreds of years old—how could it be rebuilt in a short amount of time?”
“Speaking of it, there’s been a lot of joyous occasions these days, hasn’t there?”
And then in both cases they start talking about JL's party.
So you'll observe a few differences here. First and most obvious, the worries about the position of Chief Cultivator—which WRH held in CQL, but which didn't exist before now in MDZS—are transferred to be about the watchtowers instead.
Now these concerns make a lot more sense if they're about the position of Chief Cultivator, and they don't really make sense if they're about the watchtowers—like, one whole thing about the watchtowers is that they're in remote areas, that's the entire point. What are they supposed to be supervising, exactly? The one wandering cultivator who comes by the area every three years of they're lucky? And observing that there will be only one Chief Cultivator, and it's going to be from a limited pool of candidates, makes much more sense to me than worrying that the Jin alone will end up running the towers—I mean, it's not impossible, but it's a longer-term concern and much easier to prevent than "limited pool of candidates", lol.
But yeah: the watchtowers/Wen supervisory offices comparison is one CQL draws directly. It's not one that makes any sense, but unfortunately that's kind of CQL on a lot of the CQL-specific things JGY's supposed to have done. (I tried to work out the timeline at one point for the XY collaboration in CQL and just gave up.)
(I also left in the discussion about the rebuilding of the Lan's library pavilion in the MDZS discussion, because it's not there in the CQL discussion, and this really gets my goat. It's like two lines! That ask a question we don't even know, at this point in the story, there's an actual answer to: how did they rebuild it so fast? But apparently in this particular change they're not even going to leave us that.)
tl;dr: a) people really hate JGY; b) unfortunately, CQL.

This episode was a good one, lore wise and other but I think I really love this conflict of interest between Laudna and Orym over Imogen cuz in a way, there is a misunderstanding but at the same time, both of them are not wrong.
Orym, at least I feel, while the way he worded it was cold, is more along the lines of "I need you to be here with us but at the same time I am pressurising you to go along with the opportunity if it presents itself because you are the main person with all the information." because Imogen is right, they are on a research mission, they are here to gather information and Imogen finding out the stuff she has, like Orym said, was information they didn't have a while ago. He also has the fear that after everything they have done, Imogen is kinda trying to give up on the main reason they are even here because she fears that she will be sucked into it, which is also real. He specifically states that he isn't expecting anyone to do anything but he is still pressurizing them because where they are, everything is unknown and they are dealing with something with high stakes, even if it may be a research mission. He is not onto only Imogen but everyone to give it their all.
But at the same time he does disregard a part of Imogen's fear of not being able to come back if she does give in the next time, because he doesn't understand how tempting the power actually is, cannot comprehend it because he isn't holding it, none of them are. They don't feel the pull and the temptation, the strain of rejecting the power and running away from it. She clearly states that she is trying to avoid it by running away, while standing on the very source of her powers. Like Orym said, she is fighting it. Even though it is a research mission, they are fighting and not just collecting information. It's just that Imogen's fight is both internal and external in a way no one understands and it doesn't help when others pressurize her into giving in to the power from which she cannot return back from.
There are stakes, high stakes for everyone involved. But each one's stakes have starkly diffferent motives and end results which the other doesn't understand/partly understands and the lack of communication hasn't set the boundaries straight and I love the conflict this is bearing :3
Imogen is right to fear about giving in. Orym is right in not sugarcoating the fact that she is their main gateway to gaining information due to her connection. But at the same time, Imogen's indecisiveness and Orym's lack of not conveying his thoughts in a much more tactically worded manner is causing distress and the others around them talking about how Imogen is the messiah is totally not helping, especially when they just came out of Fearne and everyone's insistence that she take the shard pressurizing her.
Edit: Sorry, kinda wrote this sleep deprived after two very long days so if it doesn't make sense or if I misunderstood something, I will correct it. But for now, this is my opinion on that particular scene
Edit: Rewatching the scene a couple of more times, I do understand it is a misunderstanding but at the same time, this post kinda made me miss writing and overanalyzing stuff, which I have not been doing for quite a while now due to time restraints so I am going to keep this as a reminder post of what I am missing when it comes to ways of destressing :3 I blame the psych student in me for the in depth analysis

Hi! I’m the anon who wrote the ask about Hunter’s parental issues and about his attachment to Kevin. Thank you for answering my asks, I absolutely love the way you write and how you explain everything! You’re extremely talented!🫶
I honestly didn’t notice how in love Hunter was with Kevin until I watched the movie a second time. It’s crazy how you can literally see all feeling in Hunter’s eyes when he looks at Kevin. I also loved how you said that their relationship fits a BDSM bratting dynamic, because I totally see it.
[and as someone who has ADHD and deals with RSD on a regular, I completely understand him. It sucks.]
Hey 🤘 [prev ask for context] Yeah I obviously couldn’t be 100% sure they were from the same person but it definitely makes the most sense lol
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoy my rambling thoughts about Hunter as a character <3
If you do like my writing, I’m tempted to sheepishly gesture over to my actual Metal Lords fics over on Ao3 if you haven’t checked them out, even tho it makes me feel like a bit of a dick to do so 😅 (They are mostly locked to registered users, blame AI data scraping. The only Metal Lords fic not locked rn is a tiny ficlet. An Ao3 account is free tho 👀)
In any case, I really appreciate that you pushed me to do a bit of analysis again. Because sometimes I tend to forget that all the stuff that lives in my head as “obvious” isn’t always stuff I’ve said out loud on here lmao
There’s a lot to pull from the film if you’re willing to be a bit mentally ill about it.
And you’re absolutely right about the way he looks at Kevin, I mean, it happened enough for me to make a whole ass gifset of it lmao
Tumblr media
Look at him. The boy is smitten. Clueless, of course. But smitten.
Which I credit basically entirely to Adrian Greensmith, as it was a vision he had for the character. I really can’t imagine Hunter having been played by anyone else as he brought so much to the role. (Fun fact, if I remember correctly: Noah Urrea, who plays Clay, originally auditioned for Hunter. No harm but I'm very glad he didn't get that. He makes a good Clay and Hunter just needed to be played by Adrian.)
One of the key things Adrian brought to the role also being, probably accidentally, his anxiety.
"I spent a lot of Metal Lords feeling a bit anxious [...] and in hindsight I wonder if some of that was just a sign that Hunter was quite an anxious character [...] I mean his body's so tense all the time." - Adrian Greensmith.
I shortened that quite a bit so I'm including a slightly longer clip of the interview audio for more context. (I can upload a subtitled video clip if anyone wants that as well as link the video on yt but I'd have to do a bit of a search for that)
Aside: If I had to guess I'd say he's probably referring to Peter Sollett who directed Metal Lords when he mentions a 'Pete'.
And yeah the bratting thing was a little bit of a joke but mostly not a joke. Without going absolutely off the deep end, the mentality behind bratting is something I really see in Hunter.
Evie Lupine has a wonderful video about bratting and why people would be interested in it (and why some people hate it) but a short snippet that always spoke to me from that is the following:
"The motivations behind bratting are pretty varied. I think one of the main ones would be a sense of security and comfort. This is when the acting out is sort of a way to be reassured that even when you, break rules, even when you push at things, the partner that you're with is not going to abandon you." - Evie Lupine
Obviously, with Hunter's fear of abandonment, it's easy to see why this would appeal to him.
He also just...idk he has brat energy - sincerely, a brat.
Tumblr media
And Kevin does just play out the counterpart to that. He doesn't always have Hunter under control but he tries to.
And he does mostly act as that safe person to brat against, which again amplifies the impact it has when Hunter starts to think he's actually losing Kevin, destroying that feeling of safety.
Aside: I obviously don't think that these characters, in universe, negotiated for a bratting dynamic. In universe it'd be something that just sort of organically developed within their friendship/relationship. But even more than that it's an archetype of a dynamic that we as the audience can easily read into their interactions if that makes sense.
Can you believe the shit they will accidentally put in movies? lmao
And yeah, I have ADHD as well. And RSD is something that affects me pretty fucking severely. I've only really become more aware of it in the past year or so as my partner has pointed it out more and more.
So it's definitely something that I then noticed more and more in Hunter too.
Obviously this is all just my take on the character, and other people might have totally different interpretations. That's the beauty of art, we all get to find what we need in it and read it in our own ways, influenced by our own life experiences.
Thank you again for asking, Anon 🤘 (if you want to use a nickname or smth to identify that you're the same Anon, let me know. If not, that's totally okay too, but I might not always know it's you)

Hello!! I meant to respond to your reply but I forgor -- thus, I'm here to ask about any Mahiru thoughts/theories/opinions you have 👀🌻 (only if you want, I'd just love to hear!)
OHHH you have no idea how happy i am to talk about mahiru... she is so dear to my heart. as evidenced by the last time someone asked me about her and i accidentally wrote a 1900 word response. going to try and make my answer to this ask a little shorter lol.
i think there's just something really compelling to me about the fact that like. whatever it is that happens with her boyfriend feels so much more like an interpersonal problem that went horribly wrong than like a murder case. obviously the characters with more traditional and direct murders can be and are interesting as well but there's just that special flavor of tragedy to the instances where characters never intended for their "victim" to die. especially mahiru, who sincerely loved her boyfriend and seems to have not even wanted to inflict Any sort of harm nor to have been aware that she was doing so.
i really really like and resonate with how she deals with the realization that she in fact Did hurt her boyfriend though. it's just so nuanced and realistic, you know? she blames herself for her emotions and desires and her inability to get it right, and she doesn't want to hurt anyone again... but she also can't stand the idea that she'd have to be alone and unloved for the rest of her life in order not to hurt anyone, either. which i think is a dichotomy mahiru seems really familiar with: she doesn't really want to get upset with her boyfriend or hurt him or anything like that; it's just that she also desperately wants more attention and love and commitment than what she's getting (and ends up giving in to that desire and demanding it seemingly to his detriment, judging by all that "calling you in the middle of the night" she mentions in this is how to be in love with you, or the "if you don't hug me our hearts will drift apart").
which is... a really realistic struggle, you know? wanting something from someone that they for whatever reason can't give you. on one level i think she does need to work on how to actually be okay by herself, and to find healthier outlets to cope with it. on one level her behavior is destructive and harmful to others. but on another level, she's not wrong for having a high desire for attention and reassurance, either. and it seems like she doesn't really know how to deal with those emotions. or with her emotions in general, actually... she gets carried away with happiness when things are good, and sinks into despair when they're bad, and doesn't know how to handle it or find a middle ground.
it's just a really nuanced situation without a clear right or wrong, and that level of difficulty in coping with/controlling your emotions is really hard to handle even without a situation where you end up becoming implicated in your boyfriend's death... i feel for her a lot :( poor girl just needs therapy and a better support system in her life. and actually circling back then to my tags on your fic... i think in another world, that mahiru with her uncontrollable emotions and ideals of love as her meaning to live could absolutely find some sort of kinship and seeing herself in kotoko, who similarly seems to struggle with her anger towards injustice spiraling out of her control and with her vigilante work being connected to a sense of purpose for her.
unfortunately, as is... i think the opportunity's been a bit lost with mahiru's canon guilty vote and what happened between them. mahiru forgives her, yeah, but... i just don't think it'd be great for her to pursue a connection with someone who nearly killed her.
that's what alternate universes are for though, right? ;)

Most people in the Red Dead Community like to think they know who Dutch really is and have that man all figured out.
Tumblr media
But in all honesty I just feel like most really don't which is why I try my best to avoid having conversations and even dealing with people who are against Dutch or just come up with these ridiculous claims about him. And when it comes to us Dutch apologist no one is making excuses for his wrongdoing we know he's done wrong but y'all like to nitpick and over analyze and over exaggerate every little thing about this character to the point where it makes you look ridiculous.
A lot of you think that everything about him is fake and he was manipulating all of this from the beginning for the past 20 years y'all think this is who he really was when it doesn't logically add up or make any kind of sense. I feel like this character is judged way too harshly. You all act like he's the only one with faults when the truth is he isn't. The same people that want to harshly judge Dutch are the same people who try to give Micah the benefit of the doubt even said that Dutch is worse than him if that is even possible I don't think I take people serious who say shit like that. How could you?
Do y'all even pay attention to the details of Micah or do you have your head so far up the faults of Dutch ass to the point where you can't even see that Micah's own brother wants nothing to do with him and he actually said if he ever crossed paths with him again that he would kill him he told his brother that he has no reason to contact him or write him again or be in his presence for any reason. The fact that his own brother wants nothing to do with him should let you know something. On top of that he wrote some type of note at Camp if you read it how he takes joy and backstabbing unsuspecting people that trusts him. Micah has absolutely not one ounce of redeeming qualities and he shows to be a true sociopath. He's also a racist and a child killer. Even one of his buddies I think it was Joe or cleat that left aside because he killed a kid. Dutch show that he went crazy and just lost his Humanity because of all his faults. Dutch could have Redemption but the thing about Dutch is after everything he did to the people that he actually loved and cared about that you think was so fake and he was playing games with him from the beginning he actually feels like he doesn't deserve Redemption for what he did. So who we see in RDR1 is a man who's punishing himself and punishing everything around him that he blames for how things went wrong. You also like to accuse him of being motivated by greed. And if that was the case he would have shot both Micah and John up at that snowy mountain and took the Blackwater money and went about his business if he had no real heart in him. Even in RDR1 he had plenty of opportunities to kill John and truly never did nothing was stopping him from shooting John when he was mad at the top of the mountain in the first game. He threw his gun into his own life so his son wouldn't have to live with with being the one to end his life.
For the most part I ignore y'all until I decide to engage for a bit and then pull back and just leave you alone for months at a time. You know since this game came out this is the first time I've been vocal. The fact that it took me 5 years to start speaking my mind speaks of volumes when it comes to addressing the things that I see in this community especially as far as Dutch is concerned.
If y'all really sat back and examine some of the shit you write concerning his character you'd actually see why it's worth criticizing. And y'all have nerve to speak out against Dutch apologist as if you have real argument to stand on when you and all honesty really don't. Not from what I'm analyzing.
Like I don't care if people who don't like Dutch apologists wants to block all of us and all honesty I do my best to stay out of your space anyway.
I wrote this from being tickled coming across some comment on YouTube the homefront of toxic opinions concerning Dutch lol. One fan stating that Dutch is way worse than Micah. Do you think I as a black woman with deam Dutch worse than Micah?
Who's a blatant racist?
For anyone to sit up here and say that Dutch was a fraud from the beginning you have to prove to me that he was pretending to not be a racist. Which is utterly insane given the time period he was living in. This was during the time when whites only and coloreds only signs was put on water fountains and bathrooms. You mean to tell me during a time period like this a Caucasian man decided to pretend to not be racist just in case he bumped into a couple of people of color that he would later on letting to his gang? If you're going to drive the point home that Dutch was a fraud from the beginning then you have to show and prove to me that he was a fraud with everything else that means including pretending to not be racist as a means of manipulation what evidence do you have that that's even there? You see when you take it from a woman of colors perspective concern is Dutch character that opens up a can of worms that most of you can't even touch. You see I can look at this situation from angles that most people don't even think of looking at it from. So y'all thought I cracked the surface with this shit but to be honest I haven't gone as deep as I really wanted to go. This is something that has been sitting with me for a long time. Dutch was an outlaw I expect him to be what an outlaw is. Dutch is the Wild Wild West. And modern day societies like Saint Denis took the Wild Wild West from him and that's like taking a fish out of water for dutch. He didn't want things to change. But you can't fight a war against progress and it drove him insane. Dutch has his faults but let's stop trying to act like other things that came into play wasn't a contributing factor. Y'all sit there and unfairly judge him with the situation even with Angelo Bronte Leviticus Cornwall that brings me back to being a woman of color. Y'all give him shit about killing people like Angela Bronte Leviticus Cornwall and Catherine braithwaite. And using that as a means to drive home your point that he was always a fraud and manipulative and all these things. Do you think I as a black woman would give a rat's ass about Dutch killing people like them? People who did not like black people? The only issue I had is how he may have executed it and then I had a problem with how he killed the innocent mother that was out of pocket. But you can't use these people he killed as a means to drive a point home when I'm looking at it from the perspective that I can't help but look at it from. You cannot judge Dutch on the standards of today's standards because he is a character that is being portrayed from a time period from over a hundred years ago so I have no choice but to look at it from the angle I'm looking at it from. When you start to examine the situation like this you begin to realize how ridiculous most of you sound which is why I try not to engage in conversations which are regarding him. Now I do plan on coming and explaining other characters but until then I'm going to continue to put my focus on dutch. Being that that's where everybody's focus is on with being the biggest ones y'all like to criticize.
Y'all don't criticize Arthur Who obviously has faults and you don't criticize John who also obviously have faults. Y'all put John and Arthur especially Arthur on a pedestal because given the situation not realizing that any given chance that if you were in front of their faces they robbed and kill you if it satisfied their need at that given time. Probably even Dutch. But I digress.
And unlike Dutch haters who like to push Dutch apologist away the irony is I don't push Micah apologist away because I have a good argument against them LOL I don't tell them that they aren't allowed in my space because I'm not that sensitive and I'm not that much of a bitch who's in her feelings in that regard. I welcome all people from whatever fan base they're coming from among Red Dead Redemption family. Because I know how to carry a good debate.
Like I keep saying a third game needs to be installed and it needs to be centered around Dutch being the protagonist. And I know a lot of you don't want that because it will debunk a lot of the dumbass arguments you've had against him all these years. That's why y'all hoping it's anybody but him we get to play on that controller.
Rather you agree with this post or not rather you share it or not whether you hurt or not I'm okay with that. Because in all honesty I do this for my own pleasure. But to those who have supported me some subjects on my page more than others I greatly appreciate it.
I get it I know I come off a bit strong at times and a little aggressive with my Approach but when you're dealing with ignorance like this sometimes you got to add a little fire to the mix. I'm just passionate about the subjects I take on and speak about. A lot of people like to take that for being angry and nasty and mean no I'm just passionate about the subjects I take interest in. So people will take it the wrong way and look at it as mean and angry and aggressive. But what do you expect from people who are poor Judgment of character. So I don't take that personal.
I may come off as like I'm trying to cause drama but in truth I'm really not. I can't help it if my approaches have fire to it. That's just my personality my personality is very strongly expressive. It's been like this since I was a little girl I've always been like this very loud in my personality very creative with my words very outspoken.
It's been awhile since I went on a rant and I just needed to get this out of my chest. Y'all don't realize I've been holding a lot of this shit in your for several years now. So let me have my space to vent.

hiiii i really love your temehika art, this is probably a rly silly question but do you have any thoughts on where there relationship is around stormhail and their reactions to what happens to the other there? idk i rly enjoyed their stormhail chapters and think a lot about how they would handle each others
anway have a nice day c:
hello! thank you so much!! i'll put it under the cut since it's still technicallyyy spoilers also i wrote too much. hope you have a nice day too! and i hope my answer is satisfactory gjfhjka
personally, i like to believe that temehika had more of a slowburn relationship progression and i don't think they had anything interesting going on when their stormhail chapters happen... i do like to think of that as a turning point for their relationship though.
but first of all, i'll always link MakiFigaro's fic about their stormhail chapters intersecting because i think about it a lot... i think that even without temenos having any kind of particular interest in hikari, the thought of being unable to save another companion so soon after losing crick would just be too much for him...
i like to think that in crick's case, temenos was so strongly reminded of roi (also because of his relation to the church) that he was drawn to him immediately, almost too much and realizing too late that he was inadvertently dragging him into danger which wasn't something crick was prepared for unlike roi and jorg... you can see that temenos sort of pieces everything together during the stormhail chapter irt crick's similarity with roi and his little attempts to stop crick from investigating on his own but it's too late at that point o<-<
but when it comes to hikari, i think the realization comes slower for temenos... there are several similarities between the three (roi, crick, hikari) but i like that their earlier travel banters just sort of touch on it with temenos' chapter 2 calling hikari and crick his two trustworthy blades and i like to think that temenos is thinking of roi when he talks to hikari about ritsu in his chapter 2 banter... i think it's at hikari's chapter 4 banter when we begin to see how the way temenos treats hikari is different however, because he cautions hikari about trusting too easily but ultimately trusts him to make the right decision. with both roi and crick, it's like temenos almost feels obligated to be the one who keeps pushing them to doubt more often, but it's surprising (nice...) that he doesn't see hikari as someone who needs his guidance. (listen i know it's because the travelers can't make significant impacts on each other's stories but 1) i'm delusional and 2) i still think despite that, the fact that temenos doesn't even attempt to change hikari's mind and only offers a word of caution means a lot)
temenos' chapter 4 banter is where their connection really shines because they're the only two who talk so directly about how their losses affect themselves together? most likely because the banters have to assume that you haven't seen the other traveler's entire story yet, but since hikari already experiences so much loss in his chapter 1... 🥹 i think it's really nice that the game gave them that moment to talk about it a bit.
ok i got really sidetracked but that's only the first part of your question 😭 UH i'll try to keep the next part short... in terms of their reactions to each other's stormhail chapters, i think it makes the most sense for them to have split up after arriving in the city, and since hikari's banter in temenos' story takes place before crick's death, i feel like he would've been absent for it... (it feels like throne is the only one who was definitely near him at the time) so temenos is uh Distraught after hearing that hikari might've died at the castle mei bridge and especially after losing crick, he'd probably blame himself for not warning hikari more about rai mei's possible betrayal...
once hikari's returned to the group though, i think castti and hikari would try to comfort temenos since they have the most experience with grief. castti already tells him to take his time grieving in his chapter 2 and hikari would mostly just listen and stay by his side, i think...
anyway as per my first temehika fic (desert nights) i prefer to think of their relationship as only turning romantic after the events of the final chapter and epilogue. i think after losing kazan and with rai mei remaining in stormhail, as well as ascending the throne, he'd feel more isolated than ever and temenos similarly loses a real sense of purpose after repaying his debts to the dead and no longer having anyone to protect. that isn't to say i don't think their relationship can't start at any point tho ghjafdjk 20984903 temehikas existing in my head. simultaneously. anyway i seriously did write too much sorry about that hope it was enjoyable to read at least <3

I couldn't hold back I had to share some more. One of my favorite aspects of the rancher dynamic is that they're both scoundrels. They're stubborn and have tempers and love revenge and Jimmy was just. on board with bringing up a warden to wreak havoc on the Red Velvet Keep. They can enable each other's insanity
THEYRE. YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SO GLAD YOU DIDN'T HOLD BACK AND SENT THIS ALSO BECAUSE....
sometimes. (not aLL the time) but sometimes people make Jimmy too...passive. but my god he is the most defensive person literally ever in the entire world...Jimmy would so much rather go directly for escalating a situation and making it worse than roll over. He's the perpetual target right? His first instinct is kinda of like when an animal tries to appear bigger and threatening so you won't mess with it,, he immediately goes for doubling down and trying to appear untouchable,,,, of course. he is jimmy. this does not work. AND WHEN IT DOESNT, HES STILL TOO STUBBORN TO STOP,, he. his self-fulfilling prophecy the situations he gets in always worsen for him more than anyone else,,
but that kind of stuff is what Tango's good at...like Tango bringing the warden to the surface in dl is nowhere near an isolated event for him he does things like that all the time. and so you're right they are so similar in some ways (and I could draft an entire post about this itself, they are so so so similar sometimes) with this propensity for revenge but more than that its like...tango is able to arm that feeling in jimmy, that need for chaos where he's the perpetrator and not the victim. Cause it never quite works out when he tries on his own...not that it necessarily works out always for Tango as well, or even works out that specific time with the warden, but he gives jimmy something to DO about it rather than just. try and act threatening and then backtrack and give in when it doesn't work.
and. while we're here. I'm so sorry I get carried away very easily talking about them. but about the STUBBORNNESS. when I said they were similar in many ways...one of those things (though it presents maybe differently on the surface) is the insecurity and idea they each hold about themselves that they are...less capable than the other players...their insistent need to always take the blame. and so. this being something they share...AND the stubbornness...AND the fact that they both have a quick draw temper...this can easily both be good for them and bad for them.
good for them in the sense...they're both SO insistent on blaming things on themselves that they end up taking blame OFF OF the other. like. it's always an assumed "I'm in the wrong" and then the other makes the same comment and they work so hard trying to debunk why it can't POSSIBLY be the others fault they come to the conclusion NEITHER of them deserve the blame after all. GOOD!
bad for them in the sense....remember what I said about Jimmy's instinct being to double down? I do think this similarity and stubbornness and temper would make it so easy to. delve into a fight. only in just the perfectly WRONG combination of circumstances. And I spent like 3 months analyzing how this dynamic would come up in a uhh fight between them and wrote a uhhh 6K word fic I've dubbed "the fight fic" that I never published because I was like man. would the entire rancher community hate me if I suddenly posted 6K words of the ranchers fighting with no warning? LMAO
but. anyway I feel like I digressed so much there haha I'm normal about them <33

spoilers for the latest dungeon meshi ep but oh my GODDD i love marcille my pobrecita.. i think ryoko kui wrote sexism's effects on marcille really well, i think it's neat how she's a silly little guy and other people kind of underestimate her and it seems she is often down on herself about her failures or, "burdening" others in a way that feels very authentic to how it feels to be a woman and have that extra pressure of perfection to dispell suspicions of your inferiority. it's just very much the feeling i gather from it which makes marcille so relatable. and then to put another layer on it when it came out that she did black magic, she's literally A Bad Ass she is LITERALLY a Badass which makes her doubt of herself even more starkly inappropriate, and in this new episode despite the Fact that she is A Bad Ass when everyone's being a BIG MEANIE to her she's like a sad puppy when people don't let her help with revivals and like idk if i missed something but she doesn't even push back against them saying they're going to turn her in in like, a threatening way, she is just... scared. which hurt me i just wanted everyone stop being so MEAN TO HERRR my POBRECITAAAA. MY TINY LITTLE BABYY
i also laughed a lot and freaked out catching up on the two latest episodes today. DEVASTATING miscalculation on chilchuck's part to protect senshi when laois has No sense of Social cue. really happy to see laois and kabru meet, they're really funny together and i see why people like them so much as a ship now!! i am ECSTATIC that shuro is out of the game in terms of ehem. courting falin. bro COULDN'T HACK IT gEDDEM marcille. get that red dragon lady.. and omg it made me SOOOO MAD that they tried to blame marcille for that like how could that even b her fault!!! >:((( its obv the mad mage's doing. i dont get it they r just big meanies!!! stop shitting on my girl!!!
i like how kabru is like laios if he had more social awareness and was a litle Conniving... and omfg i thought it was so funny and sweet how shuro and laios just fucking beat each other up 😭 shuro said i hate autistic ppl fr. no but im glad he showed up for laios & co. in the end.. sometimes you just gotta talk ur feelings out over a fistfight lol
it was soo so fun seeing everyone interact .. all these fun characters... i cant wait to see what happens next!!! i love this show literally one of my fav animes EVER now definitely its so good its SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!! im terrified not knowing when its gonna end and how im gonna cope when the season ends 🗿 methinks i will have to read the manga instantly after or i will go insane from dungeon meshi withdrawal..
#dungeon meshi spoilers#this is totally just me rambling this show makes me so happyyyy#i usually hate rewatching stuff but idk if i just want to take everything or what#but i had a process of watching it like. rewatch old ep then watch new ep#and i also rewatched it all around ep 13 or something#but i think im going to rewatch it again just because I love ... so much..#is so good... need dunmeshi ..#i also need to develop my senshi tulpa more so my life is less disastrous#at least in terms of food and sleep#i slept until 7pm and then ate 3meals in a row so -_- need that senshi tulpa#lol the way laios did the im stronger than u thing but listed his food and sleep sched. as the reason 😭😭😭😭 beautiful . so beautiful#it makes me SAD that they tried to kill falin but realistically what else could they do.. i just dont want laios think monsters r all bad#or the rest of the crew. anymore...#may b theyre just friends and its the mad mages fault :((#and then kabru was like u have to kill orcs and im like NOOOOOOOOOo dont DO THAT#i was so SHOCOKED. SHOCKEKD when so many ppl were wiped out by falin. literally crazy sauce. broooo#i wuv dungeomeshi so much......#also i just have to say that shuro n laios fight? p gay...ngl#laios n falin r so similar its just falin is um. well better at masking#the Autism Twins (insert flame font(#its like i think shuro's feelings r genuine n not shallow for falin but i also dont think he knows her as well as he thinks.#i mean apparently he is Poor at connecting with others#love those guys. silly guys. the lot of em#chilchuck's being mad at marcile for black magic is a lot less annoying 2 me now that i know. other ppls react WAYYY worse#wuv em

Since Breaking Bad is now a topic in the fandom I wanted to ask how similar Light and Walter are in your opinion?
That question doesn’t have an easy answer. So let’s compare them:
Similarities:
-- They were both meant to be relatively good people in the beginning (yes, I know some people disagree, but this is specifically about what their creators said about them), but then something happened that made them the worst versions they can be of themselves. Neither of them were flawless at any point, but let's not forget that people aren't just doomed to be either all good or all bad. It's all about the decisions we make (+ random stuff that happens to us). That's exactly what I like about DN and BB, by the way—you can see that if things went a little differently, both protagonists could have turned out alright.
-- At the beginning, they do horrible stuff for—seemingly—noble reasons. I know, I know: they also greatly enjoy being on top, making people do what they want them to do, and taking down powerful, smart people. But I don't think they knew how much they would like that right from the beginning. The desires to change the world or financially secure one's family aren't fake, just because they are also power-hungry.
-- They also both think (know, in Walter's case) they're going to die soon. It's often overlooked that Light wrote so many names in the Death Note before Ryuk showed up, because he thought Ryuk was going to take his soul. He wanted to make a difference in the world before that happened. So they're both driven by a sense of urgency. Cancer and Ryuk aren't the same thing, of course, but honestly? Ryuk as a metaphor for a terminal illness could be quite interesting.
-- Both are extremely smart and they know it. They aren't just book smart, either, but know how to plan ahead, creatively work around obstacles, and accurately predict their enemies next moves. They're sly and resourceful.
-- They look down on other people for being less smart, less controlled or less proactive. And while Light is the one with the outright sexist thoughts, I think Walter's treatment of Skyler is partly sexist as well. He doesn't respect her autonomy, dismisses her concerns and ideas unless things get dire, confines her, and, of course, assaults her at one point. While he treats other people worse, you can't help but notice that what he puts her through resonates with many women in unhappy relationships. In any case: they're both quite arrogant and don't care much about other people's perspectives.
-- Their partners in crime (Misa and Jesse) are less brainy than them (sorry), more impulsive and emotional, and regularly get them into precarious situations.
-- Both have a member of their family on a task force meant to hunt them down. And both use that fact for themselves. Ah! They also see them die right in front of their eyes and are partly to blame for that.
-- They are seen as too nice and upright to ever do crimes of that calibre throughout most of the stories.
-- Pride plays an important role for both. Their enormous egos aren't apparent to the people around them, but you can still see it even when they put on an act.
-- Thinking about it, they also went through something similar regarding their first murders. It was more deliberate in Walter's case, but also not actively malicious but a form of self-defence. How they became murderers against their will certainly was part of what made them go down a dark path.
-- And although they become practically monsters, both are still willing to risk losing for the sake of someone they love (Sayu in Light's case, mostly Jesse in Walter's case).
-- Fun aliases: "Kira" and "Heisenberg"
-- Both like khaki pants...
Differences:
-- Breaking Bad has no supernatural elements. It feels less grand, but more personal. Kira attempts to dominate the entire world, while Heisenberg is a more local problem.
-- Light is popular; he has conventionally good looks, is athletic, and people expect a lot from him. Walter is more seen as a pushover, little more than an, albeit very smart, high school teacher.
-- This is why Light is very confident right at the beginning, while Walter feels completely out of his element. He also makes more obvious mistakes than Light. (I have to mention here yet again that a lot of what people commonly see as a mistake on Light's part was actually deliberate, like letting the entire world know that Kira exists or letting L know that he has connections to the police).
-- Walter comes to fully embrace his crimesona, while Light fights to change the world's perspective of Kira as a just God. Heisenberg is meant to be an intimidating drug lord—Kira is meant to be justice.
-- You know, Misa and Jesse have kinda similar roles, but their dynamics with Light and Walter respectively are almost opposite. Light is forced to work with Misa, has to act as her romantic partner and sees her as easily replaceable, while she practically worships him. But Walter approaches Jesse, has to regularly persuade him into helping him, and they're at the beginning openly hostile towards each other. And it's debatable what Walter thinks of Jesse in the end, but he regularly saves and protects him, even after he no longer "needs" him. (Not all that relevant, but I just realised that Mikami and Saul are polar opposites.)
-- Light pretty much ignores that Ryuk tells him he's the one who will kill him in the end, while Walter is quick to accept his eventual-too-early death. Light doesn't even take the Shinigami Eyes deal, because he wants to live as long as possible, while Walter wants to die at several points. He's in general much more miserable than Light.
-- Their endings are also pretty different. Walter roughly knew what was going to happen, attempted to make some amends, and did one last kinda noble thing before he died. Light died humiliated after his plan went completely wrong. Anime!Light's death is more similar to Walter's. At least they both got to be completely honest about who they are + their motivations right before they die.
-- There's also one important element in Breaking Bad that Death Note lacks: Walter constantly tries to save his relationships with his family, both before and after they knew what he's doing. Light manages to keep being Kira a secret from his family forever. Light isn't as conflicted, and certainly never has to fight for his family's affection.
-- Light being a young guy and Walter being in his 50s gives them pretty different outlooks from the get-go. It wouldn't surprise me if a teenaged Walter was a bit more like Light. But yeah, Light has his entire life ahead of him and wants to take on the entire world, while Walter wants to do something exciting, something that makes him feel alive before he dies.
-- Breaking Bad also doesn't have someone like L: the one true antagonist who plays a part in the protagonist's downfall even after his death. It gives Death Note a specific atmosphere. Walter doesn't have a nemesis that matches and contrasts him in equal parts, because his story is more about his family and knocking criminals down to take their place. Hank and Gus sometimes fulfil a similar role, but they're still not comparable to L (or Near).

Hey so I’m the anon who sent that tone deaf message yesterday about not reading WTPO and I just wanted to apologize to you for that as well as anyone who was offended, specifically POC. I didn’t realize how ignorant I was coming off as and like that one person said I didn’t have bad intentions but neither of those things are an excuse. You guys have gotten so used to authors writing their stories with a white person and white readers in mind that it’s second nature to just ignore it and the fact that I rarely ever have to do so has made me realize my privilege. My thought process behind it was less of me being uncomfortable with reading a story that was written with a black person in mind and more of me feeling like you guys deserve to have something to yourselves but I think that makes even less sense and is maybe just worse. I also apologize for the second message I sent where I tried defending myself because I was lowkey attacking you which was just… bad, for a lack of a better word. This situation has just made me reflect on my personality as a whole so I guess that’s the one good outcome cuz I probably need to make some changes. Again I’m very sorry
As I said before, the mindset confused me more than anything else. While I can better understand wanting black readers to have something to ourselves, I'm just not that kind of blog where I'll discourage someone from reading something I wrote based off of that or make them think they can't read it and that's where most of the confusion really stemmed from because I've never put that kind of sentiment out there.
And yeah the fact that I've had to use a bit more of my imagination several times with fics in the past really does just make it seem second nature to me to do so, so when confronted with someone who doesn't it's just kind of a huh moment. I don't even think I took your second message as blaming me so you really don't have to worry about that tbh 😭 you're not the only white reader of mine to bring this up so don't feel too bad but I felt like I finally needed to get it out that this isn't really something black writers enjoy hearing. Especially those of us who encourage everyone to join in on the fun

As much as we all poke fun at Hector for trusting the obvious shady guy: Between Zead "The thing you're doing? Continue. It will help everyone, in fact!" vs St. Germain "The thing you're doing? Stop. No, I won't explain why". Is it really any wonder Hector listen to Zead instead of St. Germain?
tfw CoD does the "Hector gets manipulated by two people" plot better than NFCV, without turning him into a huge dumbass. Shocking.
But no, really, it makes sense. Isaac deliberately provokes Hector's fury, knowing him well enough that nothing in the world would stop him from getting what he wants. Oh, you renounced your powers given to you by Lord Dracula? Were you trying to feel oh so superior to us, Hector dear? But without them you can't exact your revenge :) oh what a conundrum :) but not to worry, I wrote instructions for you! And you will follow them. You will dance to my tune. What you want is what I want.
Isaac's plan was nothing short of clever. If only he didn't forget that Hector kicked his entire ass while wounded, let alone at the peak of his strength. Oh well.
As for Zead... yeah, it is mostly St. Germain's fault for being so damn cryptic 😂 "Don't take revenge on Isaac." "Why?" "Adios 💖" *vanishes* bruh c'mon try harder. Even his final speech in the Eneomaos Machine Tower doesn't explain a thing. But Zead also, shifty behavior aside, doesn't say anything suspicious. Yes, Isaac could be spreading the Curse. He has the power to do so, if we go by Hector having the power to nullify it. The PtR manga implies that Zead was telling the truth, too. The Curse is in fact ruining people's lives, and getting rid of Isaac would help both Hector and the entirety of Wallachia (not that Hector seems too concerned lol). He is objectively more trustworthy than anyone else who tried to sway Hector to their side, both in the game and in the show.
Maybe the cutscene in the Forest of Jigramunt should have made Hector suspect that something's weird with Zead, especially in Japanese. But I don't blame him for not putting much weight on an out-of-context conversation that only proves that those two are against each other.
also hector demolishes both isaac's and death's sorry asses as soon as he understand that he was played, which proves that you do not mess with him <3
