Sigh. Not even shocked that these men were doing this. Also, Jonah's texts sound identical (with less cursing) to Johnny Depp's texts to Amber Heard about not allowing her to work. He even fired her stylist and forced her to use his own to control her wardrobe, and hired someone to follow her around when she was on set to report back to him on every move she made and every person she talked to. He'd of course then go on to accuse her of sleeping with every single person she interacted with. These are not "boundaries", this is coercive control; it is abuse.

Billy got a backstory, and the fandom's favs didn't. I guess that's why they keep giving Eddie and Steve Billy's trauma, lightening their hair, beefing them up...

Because deep down they know Billy's a rich character. We know about his parents, we know about his life at home.

We know more about him than characters who've been present since season 1.

In ST, most characters have to depend on other characters to make up for their flatness.

Billy's fine on his own. In fact, he is the character that makes others look poor in comparison, in terms of characterization and depth. He's the one who makes other characters interesting. He gets characters like Steve to react.

Dacre's mind went far beyond what the Duffers could ever dream of. He saw that there was a story to tell, a story that could actually make Stranger Things more than a Sci fi show.

He's the reason Billy Hargrove didn't end up like Steve or Eddie. Billy didn't end up becoming a joke, and his death was actually significant to the story.

I'm glad Billy didn't get Steve's "redemption".

Billy Hargrove is great because of Dacre Montgomery. The less the Duffers have to do with a character, the better they turn out.

Dacre fought to flesh Billy out, and it's a really fucking weird thing to hate him for.

Something that makes me so sick about the AI tech boom is that the end goal is basically just to make digital slavery. All the work these programmers and scientists and whoever the fuck are doing is to eventually create an intelligent being that can work for them without pay while they get to relax. Every single servant digital assistant like Siri, Alexa, and Cortana is made with the express purpose of doing the labor of a human secretary, but instead it comes free with your iPhone or whatever. They want to build the perfect laborer to exploit.

And the real kicker is that even if ChatGPT or Midjourney or whatever the next big AI thing is actually does gain intelligence and can take over the jobs that humans don't want to do (because btw, the majority of AI tech isn't being developed to write essays or make paintings, but for supply chain management, weapons systems, and other ways of keeping the capitalist gears turning) guess who will be in charge of managing that AI and keeping it up and running? Humans. Humans who are already not getting paid nearly enough to program and upkeep the "free" AI programs that already exist.

Now I consider myself a very optimistic person and I believe wholeheartedly in the capacity for good instilled in all humanity but it really makes me sick to my stomach that I'm witnessing the biggest tech advancements in history for the sole purpose of creating a new way to keep capitalism alive and perpetuate an economic structure based off of exploitation. Like it's literally just being made so that capitalists can capitalism more efficiently. Unbelievably fucked up.

All the people going about how Nancy wants a career, not a family when they’re whining against Stancy getting back together, I just can’t.

First, it’s absolutely possible to have both a career and a family, thank you. Never once have Steve mentioned that his dream includes her becoming a stay-at-home mother. If anything, Steve would be a stay-at-home dad and he would THRIVE at it! He would be phenomenal even, being a parental figure literally been shown to be his true calling in life.

Second, there was never anything pointing out that Nancy doesn’t want to have a family. She doesn’t want to have a marriage LIKE HER PARENTS, where husband and wife barely care about one another and are only together bcs they were supposed to get together. And that wasn’t a family Steve was describing, you know, the one she said she LIKED the image of. She was all heart-eyes when he was talking about it.

Third, to the argument of “well, she’d have to birth them for him”: there are different ways of becoming a parent, you do know that, right? And wouldn’t that be a fucking great full circle if they fostered/adopted kids in need?? Come on! Also, he wasn’t even set at six. He’s thrown it out as a joke, after talking about wanting a big family. Steve is an only child of a very neglectful parents. If anything it was overcompensation for a dream.

Stancy is a fantastic example of second chance romance trope. They didn’t work before, when they were younger. But they both grew and matured and changed. And now when they start to catch feelings again (or what’s more likely when they discover that those feelings never went away truly) they just might work. And they’re scared and yet they want it and it’s beautiful and filled with hope and I want them to be together soooo much!!! (Especially after we were shown how little Jonathan actually understands about Nancy as a person)
