"But now this room is spinning while I'm trying just to fill in all the gaps."
ACP Finale masterlist
The voice in his head never leaves. “Hold still.” Max shook his head. “Be good, subject.” It's louder than ever. He shook his head again. “You’re being disobedient. You know what hapoens if you’re not good.” Pain. Pain and drowning. Drowning. Can’t breathe. He shook his head still. At the thoughts, the sounds, the laughs, the words, the screams, his screams. All the bad things in his head. He wants to say no. He wants to make it stop. But he belongs to them. Because they made him. “You don’t have parents. You don’t have family. We made you.” “No.” A strong voice suddenly silenced the scientist’s words. It’s Nasira’s voice. “They could never make someone as wonderful as you.” Nasira was simple, Nasira doesn’t lie. He holds onto her words like a lifebuoy in a stormy sea.
“My name’s Layla.” It shatters something in his mind. The person standing there leans against a wall for support, voice shaky and hunching over, making herself small, not like Nasira at all. Who was she? She keeps saying words he doesn’t understand, like that Nasira had died. Zak was smiley, not in the big way he usually was but small and gentle, he just accepted it. Dad and Isaac were smiling too, but in a different way, like they already knew. Static fired in his brain, this was all wrong. “I’m s-” “You lied!” he screams, voice cracking as he does. Nothing was right anymore, not even his voice. “You lied! You lied!” She looks up at him in shock, Dad and Isaac rise and move towards him. “You know what happens if you’re not good.” He doesn’t care anymore. He runs out of the living room, slamming the door at the voices shouting at him, trying to get to him. He runs into his room and locks it fast. He dashes under the bed where it’s dark, his head knocking against the roof of his hiding spot that he used to fit easily into. Nasira lies. “You belong to us. We made you.” So what was he supposed to believe?

Note
Why not spam emails to the representatives.
i mean you could, but its not nearly as helpful as having large groups of people doing it together.
they track how many of their constituents are contacting them regarding certain concerns. theyre probably not gonna care that one guy is passionately emailing them everyday, but they will take note if many individual people under their jurisdiction are asking them to act on an important issue.
whether or not they actually will act is unfortunately a different matter entirely

Tifa
Anime - stunning. Perfect.
Comic - who is that supposed to be?
Photo - looks real. Not like tifa though. Second rate cosplay.
Easy anime only conclusion here. I suspect Japanese media characters are going to all go that way, but we will see.

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #4
Feb 2-9 2024
The White House announced that a landmark 23 million Americans, 1 in 6 households, have been connected to affordable high speed internet with the help of the Affordable Connectivity Program, saving Americans between $30 and $75 every month on their internet bill. 4 Million ACP users are seniors, 1/4th of households on the program are African American and 1/4th are Latino, and it supports 320,000 households on Tribal lands. Sadly the program will be forced to end if Republicans in Congress continue to block new funding
The White House announced $5 billion for a National Semiconductor Technology Center, focusing on research and development as well as workforce needs. This is part of an effort under the CHIPS and Science Act to make America a world leader in science and grow jobs for the 21st century. This will include hundreds of millions of dollars of investment in workforce development
The EPA announced finalized rules that will strength air quality standard around fine particle pollution, AKA soot. The new stronger rules are projected to prevent 4,200 premature deaths and save Americans $46 billion in health costs by 2032. Soot is particularly harmful to those with lung and heart illnesses, children and those with asthma. Industrial soot is more common in low income communities
The Department of Transportation announced $1.5 Billion investment in America's bus systems. The bulk of the money will go helping local transport authorities buy low or no emission buses. There will also be investment in bus facilities.
President Biden signed a memorandum directing a strengthening of human rights safe guards around weapons transferred from US stockpiles to allied nations. The directive seeks to guarantee no arms are transferred that might be used to violate human rights.
HHS and HUD announced a join program partnering with 8 states and DC to help streamline an all of government response to homelessness. This is an off shoot of the $3.16 billion dollar investment amounted by HUD last week to end homelessness in America
The Department of Energy and FEMA released the findings of a two year study that projections Puerto Rico will be able to be 100% renewable energy by 2050. DoE also announced that by the end of the 30,000 low income Puerto Ricans will be able to apply for a solar power program, the first investments in a billion dollar DoE program for the island's renewable energy future
Department of Transportation announced $417 million dollar loan to the North Carolina Turnpike Authority to complete a major transportation overhaul in the greater Raleigh area
The EPA and Department of Energy announced a joint plan to invest federal funds to help measure and reduce methane emissions from the oil and gas production. Methane is the second largest green house gas after CO2 and is responsible for 30% of global warming in the last 200 years. This comes after the EPA pushed new rules to fine oil and gas manufacturers for excess methane emissions.
The Senate confirmed 2 more Biden nominated federal judges. This brings the total number of Biden judges to 177 For the first time in history a majority of a President's judicial nominees are not white men, Biden has nominated a majority women and people of color Biden also nominated 4 more federal judges, including two LGBT candidates. If they are confirmed it'll bring Biden's LGBT judge total to 11 tying with President Obama for the most LGBT people put on the federal bench

Ask game #25?
mcytblr writer ask game
25.) What works and/or authors in the fandom do you recommend?
OH MAN..... GODS OKAY well this is about to become me gushing about my friends, but i think everyone and their mother should be reading @raichett, @droidofmay, @good-chimes, @sillyfairygarden, @sisyphean-writes, @renardroi's writing. Like holy shit i know some incredible authors. Grim in particular went and fully changed my brain chemistry with his fic Total Apogee of the Heart, which i do believe i described to him as "like reading an oil painting," and "like you've taken an axe to my chest and deftly split it down the middle to show me the inner workings of my heart," which is truly the palest of terms i can use to describe something that ended up feeling so soul-shocking to me /pos. The skillful way he twists words to layer these rich, saturated themes into his stories makes me INSAAAAAAANE, its pretty much the epitome of how i want to write when it comes to thematic elements and imbuing my narratives with symbolism. I genuinely dont know how to describe it, but the way he crafts sentences and weaves in references to other media is like reading a fairytale, and it leaves me feeling like ive just resurfaced from a dream every time.
And, ofc, my very good and dear friend Raichett with their ACP-verse-- oh my gods what an incredible read. Reincarnation fic with modern minecraft worldbuilding FUCKING SIGN ME UP..... i think this might be my favorite fic in the fandom because truly you can just feel the heart-wrench of how long Grian has been waiting, of all those words left unsaid during his and Scar's initial conversation that we the reader happen to be privy to. AND THE SEQUEL!!! THEE SEQUELLLLL THE ONGOING SEQUEL RAAAAAAAHH okay im normal im normal im normal <- lying. It just manages to hit every fucking trope i love all at once so i start frothing at the mouth whenever it gets updated or they send me snippets. I could read Raichett's writing for hours and hours and just feel so warm within it, truly beautiful prose and characterization :]
And ohhhh Sisyphean my beloved..... if you havent been reading their anonymous scarian fic series then please please do so, especially Bread and Butterflies, a fic they gifted me that made me simultaneously want to cry and also curl up into for the rest of my life. Something about the atmosphere in their fics, along with the juxtaposition of their unique form of humor, really just knocks it out of the park for me. And, of course, the gut-wrenching wing scene-- trust me, you need to read this fic. The reveal is so incredibly well done that it feels like a gauze being lifted from your eyes so you can finally see more than the lurking silhouette of what's been hinted at. Beautiful fic and evocative writing, i dont feel like i can do it justice you're just gonna have to go read it for yourself >:]
Sorry i told you this was gonna be me gushing so i am going to gush can we talk about Droid's fucking fics please. Can we talk about those. I've always been captivated by their writing, worldbuilding, and the way they so deftly weave implications into their prose to present a fic that feels so neatly-woven it practically breathes. Every work i've ever read from them, regardless of fandom, is some of the most engaging writing ive ever read before. Not to promo a fic inspired by hunger au, but im especially enamoured with their gift will the curse be reversed if you say it backwards. Reading that was like getting kicked in the chest a billion times until it ached, and the way they portrayed the two Grian's dynamics brought me perilously close to tears multiple times while reading, which is admittedly very hard to do. Also i think reading that fic is the closest ive ever gotten to what yall experience whenever i upload a new hunger au chapter-- i stg the dread i felt as the fic progressed had me HOLLERING in their dms like "IS THIS WHAT THATS LIKE. OH MY GODS" truly just a phenomenal fic all around
Thello, oh Thello, my beloved friend, her fic you are here to risk your heart had ME heartbroken in the best of ways when i first read it, and every reread since has only solidified it as a stunning cross-section into 3L!scarian's dynamic. Thello's writing in general is always so deeply elegant and refined-- reading it feels a lot like shoving the world's richest, gooiest, most delicately-layered cake into my mouth to melt on my tongue. She just gets intimacy in a way i rarely see done, highlighting the fragile way people can come together while straining to stay apart. Her writing is so deeply, utterly human in the details she chooses to focus on, and that level of groundedness paired with her fantastical prose makes me feel like what im reading is both very real and also the whisps of a beautiful, colourful dream.
And, last but very much not least, my wonderful friend Telk. Telk's writing is so utterly unique, bursting at the seams with both humor and a quiet rawness that punches me right in the ribs every single fucking time. They're also so deeply, insanely skilled at being able to say so so much in a story while dancing around the actual core of it, drawing you into understanding whats really going on below the surface like an event horizon. Their fic A Certain Je Ne Sais What is, in my mind, a particularly good example of the subtle and skillful way they weave implications into their work-- im perpetually in awe of how meticulously they poured Grian's cognitive dissonance between how he really feels about Scar, and how he wants to feel about Scar, into the narrative. That, and their characterization is genuinely flawless, im not sure ive ever read better character voices that capture the inherent humor of their owners than in Telk's writing.
Gods i have so much more to say about so many more of my friends and their fics but i'll stop here otherwise i will never shut up. Local guy loves his friends so fucking much i will shout it to the sky any chance i can take<3
And as a bonus, here's the hermit/trafficshipping collection i run on ao3, affectionately nicknamed The Body Count!! Its chock-full of incredible authors and writing, all of whom are my close friends, and its recently expanded to contain 60+ fics!! 60+!!!! INSANE. MY FRIENDS ARE INSANE AND I LOVE THEM PLEASE GO READ AND COMMENT ON THEIR WORKS BC THEY DESERVE THE ATTENTION :] THANKS FOR THE ASK AAAAAAAAAA OKAY BYE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Okay, so - I was going through an old chat log I had with @definitelynotshouting wherein worldbuilding for my fic Apple Cinnamon Pies was brought up and I finally realised that maybe it should be made publicly available lol.
This is copy/pasted verbatim (only things I said), and basically all you need to know is that TJ was asking about the minutiae of how healing magic works in ACP-verse and joking about how sickness in-universe would work with special mention to Grian being 1000 years older than Scar and how that would affect their views of how to go about treating sickness. And then I made it angsty.
( + other worldbuilding extras too!!)
---
Well, first of all, in my head stuff like healing potions and regen potions (+ golden apples, etc) are technically perfectly fine to drink/eat. The only thing that changes with dilution is the speed at which it heals and that’s important for a person’s long-term health (and also a hospital can stretch out supplies further). How do I explain this?
So, if your body experiences a sudden injury or change (← key word is change), like you have a tooth pulled at the dentist or something, your body is pretty much like “ayo, what the fuck was THAT??” and you get shivery/weak/can potentially go into shock. Same with taking an injury and then healing it instantaneously. Your body gets a whack of “oh no sudden change”, and if you experience the injury and the healing very close together then you get double-whammied.
If you’re used to it, like Grian and other traditionalists are, then you can just keep on going, and you get better at pushing through with experience, but by now the everyday populace is not used to it, and they go to a hospital instead. The hospital takes the time to set a broken bone and then you sip diluted regen as it knits nicely back together. The whole procedure doesn’t take more than thirty-fourty minutes, but it puts far less stress on the body and consequentially your mental health.
Regarding healing vs regen: healing is an instant health increase, while regen is already over time, making healing more dangerous inherently but often more useful to traditionalists, while hospitals keep regen around with healing only in A&E for dire circumstances (undiluted potions are also kept around but again for severe circumstances).
I’ve seen takes of “you have to set the bone right or else it’ll heal wrong” and such around, and I don’t even dislike them as I think they’re cool, but I also like to go with “it’s magic and if your bone ain’t in the right position at the start it will be by the end” which is… a bit horrifying, actually, especially when you then apply that same logic to stuff like shrapnel wounds etc.
Potions are not generally kept or brewed in the home anymore, mainly due to the fact that the ingredients are expensive (proper trade with the piglins has long since been established and made into an actual supply business etc.) and the knowledge is what combination of things you need has just kinda faded out of common knowledge. IRL example: most everyone used to make their own butter and soap and now we buy them at supermarkets, that kinda thing.
All that being said, modern traditionalists are aware of all these facts and if they can they try to use diluted potions/take their time/etc, though that situationally isn’t always possible. So Scar’s worry is pretty much related to Grian’s pain tolerance and the way that pushing on through displays a somewhat janky relationship with how much Grian takes care of his body and thinks of himself. Yeah, this turned into angst, lol.
Side note: potions are kinda terrible for sickness. Sometimes they can help treat the symptoms – example: terrible cough is stressing the lungs and causing chest pain, potion can help heal the lung cells that are being abraded – but actually fighting off a virus? Nah, mate. So to Grian, sickness is very, VERY bad, and he doesn’t really have access to modern health knowledge or medicine. Like, hygiene is a thing he knows just fine. Clean water, clean food, etc. But being sick in certain ways without modern medicine can be a death sentence, especially if you’re going through it alone.
So it’s less “Scar gets a bad cold and Grian shoves regen at him and walks away” and more “Scar gets a bad cold and Grian acts like the world is ending and Scar’s half in the grave already”. Scar is actually very concerned, and Grian may or may not have some unresolved sickness trauma. I mean, one thousand years is a long time to go without getting very badly sick at some point. Alone. And cursed to wait undying. Just sayin’.
Just a real good balance of hurt/comfort and angst/humour once Grian becomes more familiar with modern medicine. Guy’s gonna stock up like a prepper once he learns where the local chemist is and what currency they accept (not diamonds, emeralds, but they do accept gold due to the fact that they can then use it for trade with their piglin business partners).
---
Other worldbuilding things unrelated to potions:
- Grian’s experience with music is the discs that drop from when skeletons shoot each other or the ones in dungeon chests. When you’ve only got less than twenty tracks to choose from, being asked which one is your favourite is easy. (It’s Far, although he has a significant soft spot for Otherside. Yes, he likes Chirp, no it’s not his favourite just ‘cause he’s an avian.) Scar doesn’t really quite know how to react to this reveal, and Grian is distrustful of songs that have singing in them, so Scar just puts on his “absolute most favourite track, Gri!” and it’s. Howling by Lupus Nocte. (Scar’s super fast build mode music).
- The piglins of the Nether know about Grian the Cursed because 1. piglins have long memories, and 2. they’ve been his only consistent source of social interaction for about a thousand years. Grian speaks piglin like a native, even if he does have some more archaic turns of phrase and vocab that he’s never bothered to update
- Related, Nether portals are modernised into being built as part of transport hubs (on both sides) so even if it’s not illegal to place a bunch of obsidian down and light it, it’s just way less convenient (and also runs the risk of spawning in a bad place, i.e. over lava or in some poor piglin’s home. If a piglin takes umbrage with you ‘cause you trashed their home then that’s on you, mate).
- Tricks like MLG water bucket clutching and boosting via punching, any and all speedrun tricks etc. tend to be the realm of traditionalists in everyday use. But there are sports (similar to MCC and any other minigame that the Minecraft community has ever come up with) and tournaments etc. Scar used to be quite the swimmer, you know! Grian finds this hilarious as his Scar likely couldn’t swim or swim very well due to, you know, living in a desert.
- I think it’s understood at this point, but this is a permadeath world, with respawning just not really being a thing. Totems of Undying do exist, but getting them off one of the Evokers in the woodland mansions is pretty, er… well. There’s currently a “you leave us alone, we’ll leave you alone” understanding ongoing, and it’s a bit tense all ‘round, but even Pillagers can’t afford to be at war all the time.
- Grian does have a small farm – it’s mostly crops, and he keeps some chickens and rabbits. He just… can’t, with larger animals. They don’t spawn in the cursed lands, and wander in from outside, but he’s spent the last thousand years living in the exact same area and yet not really settling down, so why bother? Also larger animals are more work. It’s totally not related to Pizza, he swears. (And that’s even true: it’s just one factor of a few. But he does miss her. And Scar. So much.)
- You know that feeling when you’ve got something planned in the afternoon and so the whole day is just this waiting game and you can’t do anything? You feel restless, anticipatory, you tell yourself you can do something to fill them time but nothing’s ever quite right ‘cause you’re still waiting? That’s been Grian’s reality for the last thousand years, in addition to everything else weighing on his mind. Not Fun.
- Okay but Grian is actually really BAMF due to having lived A Long Time and being very experienced and having knowledge that has fallen out of commonality. So even though he is a fish out of water in the modern world, he is very good at not making a scene about it. He just goes very quiet when something freaks him out – and it takes Scar a while to realise that, but he does eventually.

Hey, if you're on the ACP (Affordable connectivity program) in the USA, please read this
I received an email this evening from my broadband provider. Here's screenshots, and I'll copy paste the text, as well. TL;DR at the end of the post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Important ACP Update
Dear Valued Astound Broadband Customer: On January 11, 2024, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) will end in a few months unless the US federal government provides additional funds for the program. The FCC is requiring ACP providers like Astound Broadband (Astound) to inform ACP participants about the potential end of the ACP.¹
What Happens Now
You should begin to review your options.
•  If you are an Astound ACP customer on or before February 7, 2024, you will continue to receive the up-to $30 ACP benefit to your ACP-supported internet services until the end of the ACP so long as you continue to be eligible to participate in ACP and remain an Astound customer.²
•  After February 7, 2024, the ACP will not accept new or re-enrolled ACP participants and you may not be able to transfer your ACP benefit to another ACP provider.³
What Happens if the ACP Ends
If the ACP ends, you will no longer receive the up-to $30 per month ACP benefit and other Astound promotional credits for your internet services and, in the final month of the ACP, you may not receive the full up-to $30 per month ACP benefit and other Astound promotional credits for your internet services. If you continue to receive Astound internet services after the ACP ends, the full undiscounted rate for your service will apply or there may be the option to select an alternate package. Additional information will be coming soon regarding your future package options.
The FCC will provide more information on the status of the ACP in the coming weeks, and Astound will provide you with further updates.
If you have questions about the ACP, please contact the Universal Service Administrative Company ACP Support Center at (877) 384-2575 or visit www.fcc.gov/acp or https://affordableconnectivity.gov/ for more information. In the meantime, thank you for being a valued customer. We look forward to serving you.
Sincerely,
Astound Broadband Team"
the footnotes I forgot to screen cap are thus:
"¹Astound Broadband refers to the following ACP participating entities operating in separate service areas throughout the US: RCN Telecom Services, LLC; RCN Telecom Services (Lehigh) LLC; RCN Telecom Services of Philadelphia, LLC; RCN Telecom Services of Massachusetts, LLC; ETS Telephone Company, Inc.; Grande Communications Networks, LLC; and WaveDivision Holdings, LLC.
²The ACP is a US federal government benefit program operated by the FCC that reduces one eligible household’s broadband Internet service bill by up to $30 per month. Without incurring a termination fee, at any time, a household may apply the ACP benefit to any broadband Internet service plan available in the area, at the same terms available to households not eligible for ACP, or a household may transfer the ACP benefit to another provider or opt-out of the program. If the ACP benefit does not completely cover the cost of your home and/or mobile internet services, you must make monthly payments to your ACP-supported broadband Internet services. If the ACP benefit covers the full retail rate of your home and/or mobile internet services, you must use your Internet services at least once every 30 days. If the ACP ends, if the household transfers its ACP benefit to another provider but continues to receive Astound Broadband Internet service, or if de-enrolled from the ACP, the full, undiscounted retail rate and general terms and conditions of service apply.
³If the ACP does not receive additional funds, after February 7, 2024, ACP providers are not required to allow ACP households to transfer their ACP benefit from other ACP providers."
This is a link to the PDF fact sheet from the FCC regarding the ACP wind down
TL;DR:
In April, 2024, it's expected that the fund that makes low cost or free access to the internet possible for low income families and individuals, and college students on pell grants, will run out, without federal intervention. People on the program will loose that financial support, and internet may no longer be a thing people with restricted incomes can afford. Pressure needs to be put on the federal government so that people who rely on the internet for work and education, or even just access to friends and family, can continue to have that access.
The pandemic taught us that the internet is a vital resource that people need access to. A lot of us disabled people already knew that, having fought for work from home/school from home options for years, only receiving them finally during lockdown. Access to the internet has greatly improved most of our lives, and we can't lose that now.
If you know you need the financial support to have cheaper internet, you have until the 7th of February to get your application approved by the FCC, and your provider set up with that information, to give you a little relief until April. Take. that. opportunity.
I have not, as yet, received any indication from other low income support programs, like Social Security, utility discount programs, or food stamps, being cut. I'm keeping an eye out.
I'll update this post in reblogs as I get more information going forward.

Submission from @onegami:
I don’t know if this is in your arsenal (*wink wonk*), but I would so appreciate if you could identify these little guys
These are a bit blurry (and obviously aren’t real guns) and many of them are in that Generic AR15 Category, so I can’t give definitive answers here, but I will try my best. It’s also hard to squeeze in factoids for ten weapons in one post, so I will probably be pretty brief.
Up top we have some form of DMR conversion kit for an AR15, not entirely sure which or what kind due to image quality and camera angle. Could be a LWRC REPR (chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO). Has a really wonky looking muzzle device at the end; size-wise it makes me think it’s a suppressor, but it has holes in it, so apparently it’s supposed to be an obscenely large muzzle break??
The proportions of the second one and the appearance of the magazine lead me to believe the second one is the Heckler & Koch HK53A3 (chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO), which is just a super-compact form factor version of the HK33, their MP5-esque assault rifle series.
Our third rifle looks to be the Enfield L85A1 (part of SA80 series, chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO), except it’s bizarrely mirrored, with the covered cheek rest side facing the camera, when we should be seeing the ejection port and charging handle in the back. Still, it’s also mounted with a standard issue SUSAT scope.
The fourth is tricky, possibly unintentionally so. The boxy foregrip, wire stock, and barrel and gas tube positioning all seem to suggest it’s an IMI Galil ARM (chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO), however the receiver is very different, almost AR-15 like. On a hunch, I looked up Counter-Strike listings on IMFDB and I think I have an answer: the receiver might be leaning towards the IWI Galil ACE 22 (5.56x45mm) design, like in CS:GO. I’m still not entirely sure, though...
The fifth is, I think, an M4A1 Block II (chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO) judging by the elongated foregrip with full rail systems on all four sides. It’s specifically fitted with an ACOG sight here. Could also be one of those Daniel Defense / Knight’s Armament clones but I’m not too sure and can’t be bothered to parse it down.
This next one, though, is a mystery. Like, the very first thing that totally screws with me is the bizarre thumbhole stock. It looks almost like an M16? Like, you can clearly recognize the carrying handle in there, but... I dunno. I’m passing on this one, it’s driving me insane.
Seventh is a very clear-cut Colt M1921A Thompson (part of the Thompson series, chambered in .45 ACP) with an extended box magazine. Good ol’ classic rattler.
I swear these guns are going to drive me insane. Eighth one immediately had the Benelli M4 Super 90 (part of the M series, chambered in 12-gauge) come to mind because of the pistol grip and stock construction, as well as the design clearly being that of a semi-auto shotgun, but the barrel being longer than the shell tube, and the foregrip seeming to recede into the receiver, are both tripping me up. And of course, yet again, we have no ejection port or charging handle on the right side where it should be...
Finally, we got two easy ones. Penultimate one is an AKM (Avtomat Kalashnikova series, 7.62x39mm) judging by the stock style and what I’m assuming is a stamped receiver... hard to tell given the lack of details and OH MY GODDESS THE RECEIVER IS MIRRORED AGAIN.
Last one is the FN SCAR-L (SCAR series, 5.56x45mm NATO), likely the CQB variant. Easy to tell from the distinctively shaped folding stock. The iron sights are folded down to make way for what appears to be a reflex sight and flip-down magnifier optic.
I’m not sure what the (*wink wonk*) is supposed to suggest. If you’re asking if I’d pick these keychains up... let me know if they do any actual sniper rifles or PDWs.

Heres a fun little idea: a gravity falls SCP AU
The plot would be relatively the same except all the monsters, including Bill, are just escaped scps.
After moving to gravity falls, Ford started documenting his findings in journal one. The foundation noticed him and invited him to work as a scientist. Ford accepts and continues documenting the other scps as well as catching some of those that escaped (Shmebulock).
Fiddledford, still ford's college roommate, also happens to move with Ford to Gravity Falls. The foundation notices his genius and recruit him as well.
They eventually meet Bill, an scp so powerful he's been closed off from the others. Neither of them know about him yet since the foundation completely closed him off. Not even the most experienced researchers are allowed. Just like in the show, Bill flatters them and persuades them to set him free.
Fiddledford eventually sees something he shouldn't, just like in the show. He tries to convince Ford this isn't a good idea, but Ford doesn't listen. So Fiddleford quits and invents the memory gun before starting to use it on himself.
Ford sets Bill free but discovers why the foundation kept him locked away. Luckily, Bill is weak and can't use the full potential of his powers yet. Unluckily, he goes into hiding. And he's good at it. Ford hides in his shack and calls his brother for help
When Stan arrives, Ford does little to nothing to explain what's going on or why. Ford disappears, leaving Stan with his first journal which has some mentions to the scp near the final pages.
Stan, not being an idiot, quickly learns something is wrong with this town. He learns what he can through Fords journal, but he doesn't have all the answers to his questions since the other two journals are hidden. He still tries to do what he can to bring his brother back.
From then on, it's still the same. A few changes here and there and maybe accidentally stumbling upon a now abandoned acp foundation facility during that one episode with the shape-shifter. The time baby and blendin are still involved
I'd love to see someone write this

ACP finale arc masterlist

“Learning everything ain't what it seems, that's the thing about these days.”
She's gone by many names. Angela Crawford, deputy mayor of this town was her most used alias these days. She missed the glitzy years of her past, schmoozing with politicians and business execs in a blonde wig and heels. Though the comforts of sensible flats and a good office chair were not to be understated.
She mostly went by AC at work. Added a little mystery which was important, seeing as she was the head of a secret government agency investigating mutant activity. She didn't have anyone at home so she barely ever heard her real name. Sometimes she'd even forget she had one.
Not that the government had much of a say of what's going on in her department. She was free to do as she pleased as they couldn't exactly fire her. Her area was quite specialised after all.
After all, the last time they tried to shut down a mutant-related government project, they went rogue and caused this whole MEKHA mess they were dealing with now.
She snaps out of her thoughts as she realises she's reached her destination. She pulls up and heads to the front door. As she stands in front ready to knock, she hears some commotion inside. Some yelling. Someone calling out the name Max. A door slam.
She knocks anyway.
After a few moments she hears thudding steps and a groan as the door swings open.
She finds that man, Isaac was his name, in front of her, his face shifting from shock to anger.
"What the hell do you want now?"
"Have I come at a bad time?" She asks with an apologetic tone. She makes no offer of returning later.
"Yes. You have."
"Unfortunately, I wouldn't be here unless it was important. May I be let in?"
Isaac pauses for a moment before moving to the side. She walks in with a relaxed pace and the other man slams the door behind her.
She walks into the front room to see a boy and a girl on the couch. The girl she recognised from a file, she was a mutant. He looks for the boy that saved her only to find him leaning against a wall offering comfort to a woman who looked very upset. Nasira, she recalled.
The young man, Zak, glances at up at her.
"What do you want now?" His voice clipped with irritation, which while she hadn't known the young man very well, she could tell was unusual for him
"My thoughts exactly." Isaac says strolling past to face her.
"Well, its to do with an organisation you've had some history with. MEKHA."
Isaac's eyes close and his head drops in resignation. She notices bruises around his neck and collarbone, continuing down past the shirt's neckline.
The woman leaning against the wall who also seemed injured, she slides down the wall and buries her head in her hands.
"Fuck this. Fuck all of this."
Definitely not a great time then. Though she may have been aware of that. She knew of their last encounter that had occurred a few days ago and that it can't have been particularly pleasant.
Zak falls to the ground with her, putting an arm around her shoulder.
"What about them?" He asked, letting go of a breath he was holding.
"Well, I require your team's services to deal with some of their recent activity."
Then she looks around, "Where is your leader by the way."
Isaac hisses out a breath. "You listen here. You deal with whatever fucking problem you have with them and leave us out of it, do you understand?'
"I understand that you have had rather recent dealings with them, considering your reaction and your injuries." And because she knew exactly what happened. "But what I am here for doesn't just benefit me. It benefits you too."
"Stop playing games." The boy on the couch suddenly bursts out with as he stands. "Just spit out what you want."
She tilts her head at him. "I dont believe we have met."
"My name's Ash."
"Ash?" She asks in a tone indicating he should go on.
"Just Ash."
"Really because you remind me so much of someone we were investigating a few years back, a Kam- "
"Leave him alone!"
The girl who had been silent until now, tears glistening in her eyes, stood looking very upset at her. Perhaps her face had reminded the young woman of less pleasant days.
"You are getting on my last nerve."
She turns backs to Isaac, his anger matching that of Zak behind him after she had spoken to the other boy that way.
"I'll get to the point." Better not make enemies now.
"I'm offering a chance of finishing MEKHA once and for all. You see you have had to continually deal with all the this organisation because we have been acting reactively rather than proactively. We at base have been conducting some lengthy intelligence gathering and we are in the process of accessing confidential files, experimental data, names of the heads of the organisation. Everything we need to get rid of them for good."
The woman looks up. "Would that be enough?"
"Yes, Nasira, if-
"Layla." Everyone else in the room corrects at once.
"Yes, Layla." She says slowly, taken aback a little. "If we act swiftly, we can take them down and we need all the expertise and manpower we can get."
She was more after some wolf-power but she doubts it'll go down well if she made her intentions clear.
"That doesn't necessarily keep us safe." Zak argues. "And besides, that sounds way too dangerous."
"Zak? Telling us things sound too dangerous? Will pigs fly next?" Layla says in a rough voice. Zak decides to ignore it. Layla's usual teasing had lost its edge with her wavering voice and red-rimmed eyes.
Isaac seemed to have made up his mind.
"No. We've been through enough. Get your agents on it. We don't work for you."
"It's beneficial to-"
"No. What would have been beneficial to us is if you had ever protected us like you promised all those years ago. But we were always just convenient and disposable to you. We could die in that lab and you would have only lost some useful tools."
"But if we are proactive this time around-"
"Well, why weren't you fucking proactive any of the other fucking times." Layla interjects, her sharp words dulled by her shaky voice.
She puts her hands out placatingly. "We didn't have access to the source until recently-" Oh dear. She's slipped up.
Unfortunately the detectives had caught her. "Source? So you know what's going on inside MEKHA?"
"So you knew then. You knew what happened to them." Zak's voice was quiet.
She sighed, trying to salvage something out of the broken-down negotiation. "It was complicated we couldn't risk-"
Isaac's eyes hardened, "What? Your fucking scientist friend who had fun torturing us. So you just left us to die? You're not welcome back here, do you understand? Leave and never come back."
Rosie got up to open the door and she stepped out knowing they couldn't be convinced. She sighs, she could try again another time perhaps when tensions weren't so high.
She looks back at the house with another sigh only to notice a boy in the upstairs window watching her, eyes staring straight through her. Perhaps he overheard them talking.
Perhaps...
She beckons him down with a finger and he almost jumps out of his skin, eyes wide and backing away like a prey animal.
She doesn't know much about him except she was fairly certain he was a mutant. Which made him useful.
He looks back towards something and she can faintly hear knocking sound and someone shouting the name Max over and over. She imagined it was the missing leader.
The boy then looks back at her and opens the window enough for him to slip through the gap. He jumps down to ground level with a little too much ease.
He kept a distance from her, giving him space to run if needed. She wondered why he came down to begin with. Though she supposed teenagers didn't usually need much reason to sneak out.
"Hello there. Are you Max by any chance?"
He backed away further, ready to bolt. Oh dear, this was a timid one.
"No, no dear. I'm not here to hurt you." She put on her best motherly voice, which was always a tough one for her. "I just want to help."
The boy stood straight and his eyes narrowed. "Don't put on a voice. Don't lie to me. I'm sick of lies."
His voice was deeper than she had expected and his sudden change in his character was unsettling to say the least.
"A-Alright. Let's get to business then. I think we can work well together. In taking down MEKHA, that is."
"What do you want me to do?" He says without missing a beat.
She smiles, finally someone useful.
She tells him the address, but the look he gave at it made her figure he could do with a bit of help getting there.
She tells him they'd need to take a train which his eyes widen a bit at.
Oh dear, time to use a tactic no teenage boy could resist.
"But if you'd like to get your parent's permission before we leave by all means."
"I'm not going with you."
"What?" That's disappointing, it was going so well.
"I don't trust you. Isaac hates you and Isaac hates no-one."
Her brows furrow at the excuse given. "Then what? You wait around until they find you again and you all get killed the next time, or if you survive, the time after?"
The boy's teeth grit, "No! No more!
And then he looks down, his lip quivering, "I'll do it on my own."
She titters, "Oh well, good luck soldier. Report back to me when you complete the mission."
He looks up at her and she can see something in his eyes, the thing she can only see in a certain kind of agent, determination.
The ones who die quickly, that is.
She offers a card with her number on it and turns away, walking back to her car. She really hopes the boy survives, he seems rather useful. Perhaps she'll offer him a job when he gets a little older.
As she drives away she sees the boy still standing outside the house, still staring down at her card, almost frozen.
She's sure he'll make the right choice.

Let There Be Light - Chapter Ten
Price puts his hand on your shoulder and motions you towards the gun range. You made a mental note to not be too cocky. You have always been a natural shot and a damn good one too. Once you reached the table at the range, you seen a variety of weapons in front of you. They ranged from knives, pistols, semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and bolt action rifles.
"We'll test your sniper abilities when we go outside since the range isn't that long. This is mainly for average shooting and close quarters" Price told you.
All eyes were on you as you go and pick up the pistol. It was a .45 ACP Glock. You pick up the magazine, put it in the gun, slap the butt of the mag to make sure it was secured in there, pulled back the slide and load the first round into the chamber. There were six targets staggered in front of you. You knew that you had to hit either head shots or chest shots to make it count.
You aimed the pistol and emptied a whole mag out on the targets. All of them being headshots. You set the pistol down and picked up the AR. You proceeded with loading the magazine and pulling the charging handle back. You braced the butt of the gun against your right shoulder and emptied out the mag. Gaz, Price and Soap kept a smile on their face while watching you, impressed. Ghost just stood there with his arms crossed with no emotion.
Finally, you picked up a few of the throwing knives and flipped them in your hand to feel the weight of them. You picked the furthest target. You wanted to show off and assumed that the closest target would be too easy. You threw the first knife and hit the target in the middle of the head. You threw the next one and hit the target to your right in the neck. You threw the final knife and hit the closet target in the chest.
You turned back around to face the guys. Your eyes gleamed with pride and their smiles matched yours.
"That was impressive lass" Soap said to you.
"I want to see how she is at sniping" Gaz said not really talking to anyone in general.
Price looked at Ghost and then to you, "Lets see if you're better than Ghost". You knew what he was doing. Price was trying to instigate, and you loved it.
You looked over at Ghost and he rolled his eyes. He turned his back and headed up the stairs. Soap grabbed your arm to pull you back while the others followed Ghost. "You got balls lass."
You grinned up at Soap and he motioned for you to go up the stairs. You follow the crowd outside and see a few gun cases lying on the ground. You assume that is what the sniper rifles are in.
"Go 'head there darling" Price says. You walk towards the cases and open them up. One that caught your eye was the rifle in the middle case. It was all black and had a silencer at the end of it. It was decked out and had a high-tech scope on it. You picked this one up out of the case, opened the bipod and set it on the ground. You didn't see it, but Price looked over at Ghost and shot him a wide grin.
You knelt on the ground behind the sniper rifle and got into position on your stomach. You made yourself comfortable and positioned the gun comfortably against your shoulder. You looked through the scope, found the targets and adjusted the zoom on the scope. You took a few deep breaths to regulate your breathing. After a few seconds, you inhaled and held your breath. You placed your finger on the trigger, found your target and pulled. The rifle kicked back, and a loud shot rang through the air. You kept your eyes open and watched your target drop through the scope. Headshot.
You looked back and seen Soap look over at Ghost with a wide grin. Ghost didn't even look at Soap - he kept his eyes on you. You seen his eyes change, almost in a proud way, but knew better than that. You fired off a few more shots, hitting each of the targets between the eyes.
You finally get up and put the rifle back in the case. Price walks over to you. "That was impressive."
"Thank you, sir," you reply whole heartedly.
"You picked the best rifle" he tells you.
You look at him confused. "Whys that?"
His smile grew bigger, "That's Ghost's rifle."
You look over at Ghost and see him walking back towards the house with the rest of the guys. Price motions his hand in front of you, telling you to proceed behind them. You quickly made your way into the house.
Once you stepped inside, you were greeted by a slender middle-aged woman with blonde hair. Both of your eyes met whenever you stepped inside the house.
"Kate Laswell" she says as she approaches you.
You nod your head, "Harley" you reply.
"Harley?" she hung on to the last part of the name - which was a dead giveaway that she wanted to know your last name too.
"Traywick. Harley Traywick."
"Nice to meet you, dear. We have matters to discuss. Please, sit" she gestures towards the sectional. The rest of the men had already made themselves comfortable. You took a spot at the end of the sofa next to Soap. Sitting across from you was Ghost. You could feel his eyes on you, but you didn't look in his direction.
Kate made her way to the center of the living room. "We have been trying to track down The Shadows for a few weeks now and they have gone off grid. We received word that they are possibly in Mexico setting up missiles" she tells you all. She turns and looks at you, "And that is why we need you."
You give her a confused look, "Me? What the hell does that have to do with me?"
"Because you know the ins and outs of the operation" she said stern.
You scoff, "I've never dealt with The Shadows, so with all do respect lady, I don't think I'm much fucking help."
Price and Gaz jerked their heads towards you and Soap was wide eyed at Kate. She leans over and picks up a file off the coffee table and chucks it at you. You catch it and open it up. You pull your head back in realization. Michael.
"Michael has been with The Shadows for most of his life. He operates this and Trinity. You know him better than anyone else and how he trains his people. That's why YOU are so important. Plus, these missions are personal" she says dryly to you.
You swallow the spit in your mouth and look up at her from the file. "He's responsible for your family's murder and he plans on going on a few more. He still trusts you and we need you" she says.
Eyes look at you as you continue to stare at Kate. You bring your hand up to rub your forehead. This was a lot to take in and as much as you were ready to take revenge, you knew how strong Michael's men were, but you also knew the team you had now.
"When do we leave?" you ask.
"Wheels up at 0400."
You get up off the couch and make your way upstairs to the bedroom. A lot was going through your mind and yes, you were excited, but also scared. What if shit goes south and you lost your life for nothing? What if one of your teammates die and it was because of you? You shake the thoughts out of your head whenever you reach the bedroom.
You grab the toiletries from the side of the bag and set the duffle bag beside the nightstand. You place the shampoo, conditioner, razor and body wash in the shower and placed your toothbrush, toothpaste and lotion on the right sink. You step in the shower and turn on the faucet. Steam filled the shower and it quickly lingered out into the bathroom. You pulled your sports bra over your head and slipped your shorts over your hips and let them fall to the floor. You stepped into the shower, hissing at the hot water stinging your skin like when bees sting you. You did your normal routine of washing your hair and then your body. You finally turn the water off and reach for the towel hanging up outside the shower. You dry off and wrap the towel around you.
You step out of the bathroom and walk over to the bed and drop the towel from around your body. You pick up the black t-shirt that you wore only briefly this morning and pull it over your head. You walk over to your duffle bag and pull out a pair of black cheeky panties, slip them on and get into bed. You figured Ghost liked the left side because it was closest to the door and if anyone dared attempted to break into this house - better yet, was able to make it this far, they wouldn't make it out.
You turned on your right side, facing the windows, thinking of how this mission was going to go until your eyes fell heavy and you dozed off.
You woke up to sound of a someone breaking through a door and glass shattering. Then, multiple sets of boots coming from different directions downstairs. You sat up in bed and listened to see if anyone was coming to your room. You gently open your door and listen.
"Give me the information we need, and no one gets hurt" you hear someone say. Their voice was muffled. You quietly make your way towards the living room and seen about seven guys holding your parents at gun point, all wearing masks. You gasp and quickly placed your hands over your mouth and nose to not make any more noise.
"What was that?" you see two guys lock eyes and look at each other confused.
"Anyone else here?" the same guy asks your dad. This guy was tall and he worse all black. His mask was different than the rest. It didn't sit flush against his face. It was loose, almost like a shirt, but had holes cut out just for his eyes. He talked with a German accent, and he looked like he gave no fucks.
"N-no. Please" your dad begged.
"If you lie to me," the mysterious man said, "I will bring them here and have them watch your execution."
"I p-promise. T-there's n-no one h-here" your dad shakily reassured. You knew it was a lie and you needed to move and find a safe place immediately.
"Search the house" you heard the German say.
Two men nodded and retracted from the circle where everyone else was. One of the masked men searched downstairs and the other one made their way up the stairs. You quietly went back to your bedroom, closing the door quietly. You went to your closet, opened the doors, and quietly shut them too. You had a big walk-in closet and at the far-left corner, a dresser sat cattycornered against the two walls. You hopped up on the dresser and dropped down behind it - hoping no one would care to look behind there.
You continued to hold your hand over your mouth and tried to regulate your breathing. Your heart nearly jumped out of your chest whenever you heard the door to your bedroom kick open. Your whole body was shaking from anxiety and adrenaline. You heard the closet doors open and tried to remain as still as possible. The footsteps became closer, and you brought your other hand up to your face to hold your nose. The only thing you could hear was your heartbeat in your ears.
All color drained from you when you seen a figure lean over and lock eyes with you.
"I found her!" he yelled. You kick the dresser, and it falls on him, breaking his stance. You step on the back of the dresser and jump off and make a run for it. You run out of the bedroom and make a right. You get about three strides in, and you feel an arm wrap around your waist.
"Let me go!" you scream. You kick and fight and try to remove yourself from this man's grasp.
"Stop fighting you fucking bitch!" he snarls at you.
"I swear to God I'm going to kill her!" you hear the other man say as he comes out of your bedroom. You all make your way down the stairs and the man behind the loose mask watches you.
"Don't hurt her!" you hear your mother yell. One of the masked men walks up to her and hits her in the face with the butt of his gun. She screams and falls to the floor.
"Stop it!" you screech at the top of your lungs. You're still fighting to get out of this mans grasp. He brings you to the German man.
"Such beauty" he says seductively while he reaches for your face. You jerk your head back and hear him laugh.
"Stand her in front of them" you hear him command. The man still holding you, forces you to stand in front of your mother and father. Tears were streaming down your face, and you could barely see them.
"Please don't! Don't do this!" your father begs out.
"Make sure she watches" the man you knocked over in your closet sneers.
The giant man walks up to your mother, pulls a pistol from the holster on his thigh, points it at the back of her head. You rear back trying to break this man's grip, but nothing is working. You looked up at this man and he glared at you. Without breaking eye contact, he pulls the trigger.
You try to jolt up from the bed, but noticed you were being held down. Your chest was heaving up and down and you were going into a bad panic attack. Your face was starting to go numb, and your lungs felt like they weighed a thousand pounds. You tried to break free, kicking and screaming in the process. You felt your body against something and noticed it was a person. You quickly look up and see Ghost. He wasn't wearing his mask and the moon shined a little brighter through the windows, so you could see most of his face.
You realized that you must have rolled over to him in your nightmare. He kept his gaze and grip on you and you slowly relaxed once you knew that you were safe and not in your past memories. You felt a hand remove from your right arm and place it gently on your head. He softly pushed your head back down so your head laid against his chest. He removed his hand from your head and placed it back on your right arm to hold you. You laid there coming out of your panic attack while Ghost held you in his arms. The sound of his heartbeat lulled you back to sleep.

AN OPEN LETTER to THE U.S. CONGRESS
Fund the Affordable Connectivity Program NOW!
130 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!
I’m a concerned constituent writing to urge you to fund the Affordable Connectivity Program or ACP. Digital connectivity is a basic necessity in our modern world and the internet must be treated as a public utility. We use the internet to apply for jobs, perform our jobs, receive telehealth medical treatment, and pay bills, and students use it to complete homework assignments. But for millions of people in rural and urban areas, and Tribal communities, the internet is a luxury they cannot afford. Failure by Congress to fund this program will force millions of households already on tight budgets to choose between being able to stay online or potentially losing access to this essential service. If Congress doesn’t act fast, funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program will run out and more than 22 million Americans -- 1 in 6 households -- will lose this vital service. The implications of this will be devastating. In 2019, 18% of Native people living on Tribal land had no internet access; 33% relied on cell phone service for the internet; and 39% had spotty or no connection to the internet at home on their smart phone. The ACP has enrolled 320,000 households on Tribal lands -- important progress. The largest percentage gains in broadband access are in rural areas. Nearly half of military families are enrolled in ACP, as are one in four African American and Latino households. Losing access and training on using computers and the internet will have devastating impacts on all these communities as technology becomes increasingly integral to work, education, health, and our everyday lives. Without moves to address tech inequality, low-income communities and communities of color are heading towards an “unemployment abyss.” The Affordable Connectivity Program has broad bipartisan support because it is working. As your constituent, I am urging you to push for renewed funding for the ACP before it runs out in the coming weeks.

SCP: Horror Movie Files
Description: Throughout the multiverse, the SCP foundation prides itself in capturing and containing the anomalous and unknown. Of course, if you want to see the SCP's contained in our universe just look it up on their website but what about in the Cinematic or any other Universe? They are contained right here in this little collection called the Horror Movie Files!
Obviously, most of these will be based on horror movies, shows, cartoons, video games and MAYBE, but don't count on it, Anime. I will include anything and everything that I believe deserves to be an anomaly. It will sort of be like several fanfictions in one big fanfiction universe if that makes any sense... which it probably doesn’t. Also, I will be including my own fanmade SCP's, MTF's and GoI's because why not.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything from the SCP mythos. This will be a fanfiction based on the American side of the SCP foundation, International SCP’s might be mentioned but that’s it. Also please don’t assume I know everything about every cannon because let’s be honest no one does. So, if I say something that contradicts the current SCP universe then just assume I don’t know or don’t care about it. This is a fanfiction after all so things are bound to get messy. So please bear with me as I try to make this mess work.

@celtic-tactical 's hunting guide game.
Tumblr media
Let's talk location and game: the Laramie mountains, and brother, we're hunting Elk. (And big horn, prong horn, mule deer, Ect.)
The guns are pretty simple:
my pistol is a long slide 2011 converted from .45 ACP to .460 Rowland.
My guide gun is going to be a Remington 760 or 7600 rechambered in .338-06 with Ghost rings.
And my hunting rifle is where the real fun is.
A Surgeon 591 action, McMillan hunters edge sendero, Proof research sendero light barrel tipped with a VG6 precision gamma 65 muzzle brake, AIC bottom metal and a vortex RAZOR® HD GEN III 6-36X56 FFP, "mighty interesting rifle recoil" you say. "But what's the chambering?"
Well- 6.5 SAUM.
Yep, everything is a wild cat.
Now, just being a hunting guide isn't enough for me. I'm in Wyoming, land is cheap. So I'm going to purchase about a square mile and set up a long range hunting and precision rifle school with shots out to 2000 yards. Every year in July I'll finally put on the American Mile challenge. One "American" mile (1776yd), one minute, one MOA. As well as other competitions and classes, I'll probably build and sell my line of riot guns and precision rifles under my Virtuous brand, and host both practical and tactical pistol, rifle and shotgun eventually. I imagine the guide work would be lucrative, but the range and pro store would probably end up being the real money maker.
Eventually I'll set up a bushplane landing strip, onsite cabins and restaurants, Ect. Basically making a mini hunting and fishing resort.
