I think there’s nothing wrong with carrying anger with you, as long as it doesn’t trip you up, or very often. As someone who has carried anger with me for years, it’s lessened over time. Having to sit with that anger and process it when and where i can (yay for being a spoonie) is unfortunately part of the process of healing.

Am i still angry about the shit that happened to me? Absolutely. It was wrong, unfair, demoralizing, and more. But coupled with my anger is a kind of odd grief for who i lost in the process of becoming someone who had to survive those situations.

Healing is a long and arduous process and learning how to heal yourself the way YOU need, instead of how others say/think you should, is the biggest part of the battle.

That being said, good luck on your healing journey and be kind to yourself during it. The world has been mean enough to you, don’t add your own meanness to it. 💜

I am feeling strange because the toxic, abusive people are essentially out of our lives permanently but still live in state so it is technically possible to run into them someday. There's that element of unknown, of not getting the last word in, even though the healthiest thing for me and my family members to do is keep out of contact. That's what we do, but it doesn't stop me from occasional daydreams of confrontation, revenge, etc.

We are slowly reclaiming our peace. But I think it means we always have to carry that small, barren spot where peace could have grown if the soil was nurtured properly.

The same events evoke completely different emotions in them. Feng Xin and Xie Lian talking about the luxurious feasts in the royal palace feel nostalgic and Mu Qing thinks about the greasy looks that some noble guests would throw at the pretty servant, sleepless nights spent washing the magnificent clothes on which the prince accidentally spilled a drink or dripped sauce and how after barely resting he will prepare the morning outfit for the prince as a day of grueling training awaits them. He remembers the cold tone of the guoshi, tryings to slip away from a group of bullies and work work again.

He recalls waiting for the week to end so he can return to his poor little house and feel the warmth he's been dreaming of as he hugs his mum tight.

Do we think Seven can feel all of her face and body?

The Borg know when things happen in the collective and can arguably feel them, but when an individual is severed from the Borg, that expansive collective consciousness is violently narrowed down to a pinpoint. We know Seven has pretty good proprioception because she agrees that her shoulder hurts when the EMH finds that her biradial clamp is off by 0.3 microns. Because of this, she arguably has a very good understanding of how things in her body feel. That said, she doesn't really complain about physical pains, and we really only see her struggle when things are emotionally difficult.

Since she had been in the collective since she was 6, she wouldn't necessarily know that certain sensations are not normal. If there were any issues that happened as a result of her assimilation, she wouldn't necessarily know they are unusual after she was severed because that's what she has always known.

So back to my original question: can she feel all of her face? Looking at the placement of her facial implants, they are both on the trigeminal nerve. The cheekbone implant is right around the root of the nerve, and the eyebrow piece sits right over another branch. Trigeminal neuralgia is crazy painful, but she could have trigeminal neuropathy and think it's completely normal because she doesn't have a typical baseline to compare it to. I imagine the Borg implants must interrupt some nerve functioning to ensure that the drones move as they are supposed to, and the nano probes would repair any damage that would affect their functioning. But the Borg would consider physical discomfort irrelevant, so relatively minor issues like neuralgia, pins and needles, or any other unusual sensations would not be considered an issue.
