Prompt 14 - Forgotten First Meeting
@wolfstarmicrofic May 14, word count 964
Sirius had been set up on a blind date by his brother's best friend, Pandora. She’d declared she was tired of seeing him moping about with no one to love and demanded he allow her to set him up. Sirius apparently had no choice in the matter, and he couldn’t explain why he hadn’t just sacked it off and not turned up to the restaurant. But he had, and he’d even spruced himself up a bit.
“Table for two, should be under Black, might be Lovegood.” He told the host waiting just inside the restaurant.
“Ah, yes, here we are two for Lovegood. Will your guest be arriving soon?” The host looked behind Sirius as though his date would just materialise out of thin air.
“Hopefully,” He told the man. “It’s a blind date, so you never know.” The host nodded sagely, as though he got that a lot.
“Ms Lovegood, enjoys sending her projects to us. She’s never once had a no show, I might add.” Sirius felt himself redden. He and Pandora would be having words. “Right this way Mr Black, we have your table all set up.” Sirius followed him into a corner where a small table was set for two. It felt very intimate already.
“Thanks,” He gave a half smile to the man before he sat down. He opened the menu and glanced at the dishes.
“Can I get you a drink Sir?” Asked a waiter.
“Oh, yes. Gin and Tonic, please.”
“Right away, Sir.” The waiter bustled off.
A tall, bean pole of a man stopped beside his table. Sirius looked up and up and up from his seat. The man was well over six feet tall and fit as fuck. Sirius felt his insides do a little jig. Pandora had done good. His date didn’t look as impressed.
Sirius jumped to his feet.
“Hi, Sirius Black.” He told the giant, holding out his hand for him to shake.
“Remus Lupin.” The giant responded, engulfing his hand with his own. Sirius’s heart stuttered as he imagined those hands somewhat lower on his body.
“Sit, please, sit,” Sirius stammered, “Do you want a drink? Er.” He looked around for the waiter and was relieved to see him walking towards him with his drink on a tray.
“Here you are, Sir.” The waiter said, placing Sirius’s gin and tonic on the table in front of him. “Would you like anything, Sir?” He asked Remus.
“Whisky, neat, please” Remus replied. The waiter disappeared again.
“So, Remus. How do you know Pandora?” Sirius dove in, not comfortable with silences. Remus narrowed his eyes.
“We went to school together.” Was the only answer he gave. Right, thought Sirius, short and blunt. This was going to be difficult.
The waiter returned with Remus’s drink.
“Do you know what you would like to order or do you need a minute?” Sirius looked over to Remus. Neither of them had looked at the menu properly.
“I think we might need a minute, thanks.” Sirius smiled weakly at the waiter.
“Steak, rare, please.” Remus said as he glanced at the menu. The waiter looked at Sirius, who quickly looked down at the list of mains.
“Erm, I’ll have the chicken chasseur please.” He handed the menu to the waiter, and they were back to silence again.
“So, er, what do you do, Remus?” Sirius broke the silence. Remus scoffed this time.
“I work in a library,” He said bluntly.
“Wow, I bet that's interesting,” Sirius pushed a bit.
“I’ve been digitising all the old records. It’s mind-numbing.” Remus looked around as though trying to find the nearest exit.
“Have you found anything interesting in the old records?” Sirius tried again.
“No,” This wasn’t going well.
“Sorry, have I done something wrong?” Sirius asked. They’d barely been there ten minutes, and he couldn’t think what he could have done in such a short time to anger him so much.
“Do you really not remember?” Remus snapped. Sirius shook his head, taken aback by Remus’s tone. “Are you serious?!” Sirius had to bite his tongue not to respond how he usually would to that question. When he didn’t answer, Remus went on. “We’ve already met. You’ve been to my flat. Slept in my bed, amongst other things.” Sirius stared at him, trying his hardest to remember.
Remus shook his head in aggravation and one of the wall lights glinted off a silvery scar running across his face and Sirius remembered.
“Oh my God, Remus!” He hit his forehead with his palm. How could he have forgotten? He’d been so drunk that night and in the morning Regulus had rung him crying about something their mother had said to him. Sirius had had to sneak out to go calm his brother down. He hadn’t gotten Remus’s number and had forgotten where the flat was.
That had been months ago and Sirius had never been very good with faces. “I’m so sorry.” He pleaded for forgiveness and explained what had happened. Remus still seemed a bit grumpy, but he stayed. They ate their meals and Sirius treated him to a big piece of chocolate cake as an apology. Remus cheered up after that.
“So,” Sirius said shyly to him once he’d paid the bill. “Will you see me again or did I totally blow it last time?” He looked up through his eyelashes, knowing full well what effect that had on people. Remus closed his eyes for a moment, but gave in.
“Yeah, go on then.” He grinned. “Fancy a night cap? At yours this time, that way you can’t sneak out,” Sirius beamed at him and, taking his hand, practically dragged him from the restaurant. He could just hear the host chuckling to himself as the door closed behind them.

tired university student remus sitting in a library trying to study when a hot stranger dressed in leather and carrying a motorcycle helmet drops into the chair across from him, leans over to look at his work, and sighs that his work seems very boring and that he's never read anything on that subject before and then proceeds to explain everything about the subject and what paths he should take in his essay to get high marks, only to then lean back with a grin and declare academics to be tedious and instantly falls asleep until the library is about to shut and remus has to wake him up.

[Remus runs into the Gryffindor dorm room he shares with Sirius and the others.] Sirius: What's wrong? Remus: Snape figured it out. I don't know how, but he knows I'm a werewolf. He's been telling everyone that I'm some kind of beast. Sirius: Don't cry. I can fix this! Remus: How?! Sirius: Just watch [leaves the dorm] ___ [The next morning in the Great Hall] James: So Remus, why does the whole school seem to believe you are a sex god? Remus: head in hands [James turns and looks at Sirius knowingly] Sirius: What?! I just told everyone he was a beast in bed.

Prompt 22 - Roommate AU
@wolfstarmicrofic April 22, word count 938
CW - Pandora jokes about Remus getting murdered and dismembered.
Moving countries was scary. Moving to the capital city seemed scarier. Remus left his childhood home in the Welsh countryside and clambered onto the bus that would take him to London.
He’d wanted to move for years but had always been too scared. His parents had instilled in him how dangerous it would be for him not to know anyone for hundreds of miles.
One morning, while he was munching on his cornflakes, he noticed an ad in his father’s newspaper.
‘Roommate Wanted!
All bills are paid. Just pay for your own food.
Sexy, well-bred male looking for a friend/companion to share a house in a highly sought-after area of London.
Please use the number below to apply. Please, serious enquiries only. No, this is not a joke.
P.S. Must love Bowie, or we’re not going to get along.’
Remus quickly put his breakfast things away and, grabbing his phone, fled outside, typing the number into his phone as he went.
He settled under his favourite tree and pressed call.
“Hello,” A husky voice answered.
“Oi, hi. My name is Remus Lupin, and I—” He started to explain.
“Look, mate. I don’t know what you’re selling, but calling me at this ungodly hour is unacceptable. Goodbye.”
“Wait- wait. I’m not selling anything. I’m phoning about your ad!” Remus hurriedly spoke before the man could hang up.
“Oh, in that case. Hello, I’m Sirius.” Sirius suddenly sounded a lot more cheerful. “So why do you want to be my roommate?”
“Well, erm. I’ve always wanted to move to London, but I’ve been a bit worried about living there on my own.” He told Sirius, deciding the truth would be best.
“Uhuh, uhuh. Anything else?” Sirius sounded a bit bored. Remus knew he was screwing this up.
“I’m clean and tidy and don’t make much noise. I have enough money saved to pay my way—” Sirius cut him off again.
“All the bills are paid for. You only need to get yourself food.” Remus nodded even though Sirius couldn’t see him.
“Oh, right. I wasn’t sure if that bit was true. Erm, I don’t have a job yet, but I’ll start looking straight away.”
“Remus, I’m gonna stop you there. I don’t think we’re going to be a good fit. I can already tell you are the complete opposite of me. No offence, but you sound like you go to bed early and like nothing more than to sit by the fire drinking hot chocolate and reading a good book.” Sirius said honestly. He wasn’t wrong. What Sirius had just described was his usual evening routine. He had to think of something compelling to change Sirius’s mind.
“I have every David Bowie vinyl.” He blurted out.
“Really?” Sirius sounded excited now.
“Yeah, yeah, and I don’t know how you feel about T. Rex, but I have all there’s as well, and Led Zeppelin and loads of others.” All he could hear was the slight buzzing from the phones as the line went silent.
“Alright, Remus Lupin, you’ve twisted my leg. You’re the only person who’s called so far that I’ve actually managed to tolerate for more than ten seconds. So, let’s give it a go. When can you move in?” Remus sat there in shock.
“Really? You want me?”
“Sure, why not? The room’s all set up just need to bring some clothes and whatnot. I’ll text you the address, and you can let me know when you want to come. If you find it’s not for you, you can move out whenever you like. That sound okay?” Sirius spoke quickly, but Remus managed to make out all the words.
“Sounds brilliant. I’ll make arrangements and then give you a date.”
“Grand. Oh, and Remus, I really hope it works out.” With that, Sirius hung up, and Remus was left reeling.
“Oh, you’re totally getting murdered.” Pandora, his best friend, snorted when he told her he was moving to London and what the ad had said.
“No, I’m not. Sirius seems really nice.”
“Oh, sweet baby, you are so getting chopped into little bits and placed around London to look like a smiley face or something.” She’d clapped her hands together and jumped up and down on the spot.
“Gee, thanks, Pan. Love the confidence there.” He rolled his eyes and pushed down the panic that her words could actually turn out to be very true.
The bus was packed with holidayers, commuters and everything in between. Remus was glad of his noise-cancelling headphones and his favourite book. In a couple of hours, he’d be starting his new life. Everything he owned was in the compartment under the bus and was surprisingly little.
London was busier than he had ever imagined, coming from a tiny village. The noise and smells were overpowering. He got the tube from Victoria next to the coach station and rode it up to Islington.
He followed Sirius’s directions through a beautiful, tidy neighbourhood. Remus walked past a picturesque park and found the house. Number 12 Grimmauld Place loomed above him. It was far grander than he’d imagined. He walked up the front steps and used the heavy serpentine brass knocker. It thudded loudly against the wooden door. He heard scrabbling on the other side before a heavy lock clunked, and the door swung open to reveal the most beautiful man Remus had ever seen, flipping his long black hair out of his face.
“Remus?!” Sirius exclaimed joyfully. Oh boy, Remus was in trouble. He reached his hand out and shook Sirius’s before following him into the house, closing the heavy door behind him.

Take a hint - a wolfstar microfic
April 10 - Bar AU - 295 words
@wolfstarmicrofic
Remus used to laugh at girls hitting on his obviously gay boyfriend. Other men approaching him better watch out, though. You’d think he’d have less trouble with that once they got engaged. Not that he was any less handsome, of course. But the ring ought to be a hint, didn’t it?
The way this big blond dude leaned close on the bar counter suggested otherwise. Sirius being Sirius just stood there and sipped his drink with an amused smile, neither backing away nor reciprocating the body language. The blond joked, laughed, and moved in a way clearly intended to flex his muscles as if the sleeveless shirt wasn’t enough.
A part of Remus realised he could not take this giant in a fight. And realistically, why would there need to be a fight? Another part was fully prepared to bring one on, despite not being a particularly good fighter even if the scars gave him the look for it. Paired with a slightly lifted jaw and an unforgiving stare he’d learned to apply, they let him scare away most anyone.
He put an arm around Sirius' shoulders and glared. The blond stopped mid-sentence and gaped at them. Sirius lifted his left hand and played with his fingers in the air, showing off the ring.
“Oh”, the blond ducked away with his gaze lowered, “have a good night, then.”
Sirius chuckled and softened into his side. “My big brave hero saves me again.”
Remus huffed at the joking tone and felt his cheeks heat. “I overreacted again, didn’t I?”
“Kind of looked like you were about to kill him, yes.”
Remus closed his eyes and bit his lip in embarrassment.
Sirius reached up, planted a kiss on his cheek, and whispered: “Don’t stop. I love it.”
