Willy finding out about Optimus' library in the Chaos Timeline: Part 6: Willy and Optimus’ continued building relationship
Willy could tell that Optimus looked annoyed at seeing him in his library. He didn't mean to make him annoyed though.
This all started out of curiosity. Willy and the Marleyans have been building relationships with Paradis in response to the Decepticon known as Soundwave, dismantling the world governments to try and accomplish reuniting the Decepticon cause. At least that's what Matthew, or Megatron, had surmised. It's been an uneasy alliance, and Willy still found himself betrayed by Mat-Megatron, but Willy found himself getting along with the other metal titan, Optimus Prime.
The two had civilized conversations, and Optimus genuinely reminded him of what he believed Helos to have been if he was real. His talks with the Prime had allowed for the alliance to actually continue. During their alliance, Willy was speaking with Queen Historia in Wall Sina when he had heard some college students discussing returning books to the 'Metal Titan's library'. That obviously got his attention. What library could they possibly be talking about?
When the Tybur had some free time, he snuck away from the Marleyans and Paradis military investigate. He figured it would be safe since no one knew what he looked liked, let alone what a Tybur was. He ended up following some students and they ended up going to the library. Willy found it, and was surprised at the vast knowledge on display. However, he was still dumbfounded. Metal titan? What titan could they be talking about?
Willy had turned to leave, but froze when he saw Optimus' human form walking in with another student, thanking him for his donation before the student left. And now...he was face to face with the annoyed Prime.
"Optimus Prime," Willy greeted nervously, "Fancy seeing you here."
"How did you find out about this place?" Optimus asked bluntly.
"I...overheard some students," Willy admitted, causing Optimus to sigh.
"I tend to forget the public holding me in high regards," Optimus said as he set the book he got from the student down on the table.
"So...you own a library?" Willy asked him.
"This library was a gift from the Survey Corps," Optimus explained, "They gave it to me a year after staying on this planet."
"It's a very thoughtful gift, but I didn't think you were a scholar," Willy confessed, "Sure, a military diplomat, but..."
"You thought I shared the same profession as Megatron," Optimus concluded.
"You both are skilled fighters," Willy retorted.
"Before the war, Megatron was a gladiator, but I was an archivist," Optimus explained, "I had no knowledge of combat, but I had more knowledge on historical records."
"And...you've opened the library up to the public?" Willy questioned.
"I find it unwise to hoard this knowledge all for myself," Optimus reasoned, "Students are usually the most popular demographic who come into these walls."
Wily looked over at the shelves and couldn't help but admire the way everything was set up and maintained. There was clear dedication and love for his craft. From the way the shelves were set up, to the way the books were cleaned, Optimus truly cared about this place.
"Do not tell the Marleyans about this place," Optimus ordered Willy, causing the Tybur to turn to him.
"Excuse me?" Willy tilted his head in confusion.
"Do not tell the Marleyans of my library," Optimus repeated, "I know full well the Marleyans will take advantage of any perceived weaknesses in order to find reason to attack. I do not want Marleyans coming here to harass the people who seek knowledge. And I do not want the Marleyans to attack this place out of malice. These people come here for help, and this should be a safe place for them."
Willy knew that Optimus cared about the people on the island, but through this simple act, he could see just how much the public appreciated him and his work. They come to him to see help and guidance, and it's clear that they show respect to him. Who was Willy to take that away from them both?
"...okay. I swear I won't tell another soul about your library," Willy declared.
"Thank you," Optimus said.
(Optimus and Willy's relationship is something I don't explore too often in the prompts, so I'm glad that I did. #71 has been asked but the rest is free game.)

I was just wondering, in regards to my earlier repost......would it have made a lot more sense to position the Tyburs as Eren's main opponent in saving Paradis and thus making them a more proactive presence, regardless of whether the Rumbling remains canon?
The Tyburs are as I said before, an utterly underwhelming factor of the story given how quickly they are killed after the truly baffling revelation that they are Eldian themselves governing Marley. And General Theo Magath hardly justifies his involvement as he too is killed off criminally early in his campaign to stop Eren and perhaps even is too quick to see the error of his ways in the pacing of the final arc. Sure him seeing how badly Marley screwed itself is a slightly better executed "arc" compared to Gabi's bullshit story where she still faced nothing for her crimes, but his impact is still middling by the time he dies with Keith at his side.
Perhaps if Willy had been leading the charge and Lara was actually built up as a warrior in her own right and not some random homemaker lady with no plot or personality to go by....or if someone else had been given the bloody Warhammer and actually executed its awesome power.....I mean it's an Eldian clan willing to wipe out their own kind up against the Eldians determined to reclaim their place in the world, I feel like the points expressed through characters like Magath or even Garbage Braun could have been better conveyed through the Tyburs going up directly against Eren rather than further distracting us with one plot that proved inconsequential and several character arcs that further distracted from the main flow of the story.
And to those of you still foaming at the mouth at Willy's iconic death in "Declaration of War", save your spazzing out for someone who gives a damn, that episode is as shit as the rest of this three year long final season. It's a stupid death when you consider how it voided such a puzzling revelation on Marley's side of the story.
Obviously I haven't worked out all the finer details so I'm sure there's some holes in my logic.....but I feel like several major points could have been salvaged with a different approach here. Something I think worth discussing.

Shout-out to @glassesntea for their original post on the topic of the Tyburs. I think if you're going to introduce this kind of information into the story, you should follow through on it. Make it come full circle. Isayama really dropped the ball on this, harder than when Gabbitch Braun was dropped on her head at birth.

I've been thinking: what happened to the rest of the Tyburs after the Rumbling?
They still have a political position in the new world or they are seen with suspect after lying about their role in overthrowing Karl Fritz for a century? Willy is revered as the man (martyr) who tried to unite the people of the world against a menace that turned real since he sacrificed his own life along with his sister's? Or the public sees his death as something he deserved since the Tyburs, who ruled Marley in the shadows, failed to stop the inevitable letting the military taking awful decision and neglecting their duties and allowing, with their disinterest, the Rumbling?
In the manga we didn't know if Zeke's grandparents survived, and we have seen in the anime that they didn't. The Tyburs are not mentioned even in the anime, or I just missed some scenes?

do you have any thoughts on the Reiner is Helos parallel? I've seen others say it but I'd love to know your thoughts if you have any 😎❤️❤️
gonna be real i've never heard this before and i hate that Helos shit because i think the tyburs are the only real weakness of this whole story But i have astrological reasons for associating reiner with Helios and Apollo
re: Helos
hmmm... really central to my reading of AoT is subversion of what a hero looks like (the title of armin roast chapter, snk 82), challenging shounen conventions of strength and ability, so i can see how the gratuitous Helos lore drop coinciding with our exposure to reiner's dire mental state might connect the two: helos is a tall tale, the golden hero that the 104th looked up to and still adored by the warrior candidates doesn't feel strong at all. there's also reiner (and annie)'s mixed heritage maybe suggesting the tybur-marley coalition that ended the Great Titan War but iiiiiiii don't know. my hesitation with the tyburs and Helos is mostly because of the conspiracy dogwhistle of them as "the true rulers of marley" and in his stupid ass theater kid death revealing the Helos lie, Willy added more fuel to the fire that eldians are untrustworthy, which I don't want reiner anywhere near. if anything actual "new" helos is armin: taking credit for killing eren to spare mikasa further pain. and he's way more chill with lying, bless him
astrology
setting aside that a huge chunk of this cast is tropical Leo suns, the glyph used for the sun by ancient/classical babylonian and hellenistic astrologers is ☉, a shield with a boss (the nipple thing in the middle) somehow??? connected to apollo but afiak the only huge greco-roman shield is the aegis more associated with athena. anyway, i'm really into the military's description of reiner as marley's shield and zeke as marley's spear (snk 92), in part because it echos erwin's argument in the uprising arc that the survey corps is humanity's spear (snk 61), but mostly because it's depressing as fuck how reiner sees his own body as a blunt weapon even in human form

Attack on Prime Chapter 84: Curtains Rise
Summary: The stage is now being set for the next chapter to begin, and both sides prepare for the onslaught that will no doubt come their way.
Sneak Peek:
Megatron returned to the island, landing right in front of the neutral ship before stepping inside. He walked down the hall and noticed a light emanating from one of the rooms. Megatron peered inside, and found Wheeljack working on a model of…a human-sized arm. The Wrecker looked back at his data pad, resting against the wall, before making a few more changes in the arm’s structure.
“I see you’re productive,” Megatron remarked as he leaned against the entrance with his arms crossed.
“Yep,” Wheeljack shrugged, “I should have the arm working soon enough for your little human friend.”
“He’s not my friend,” Megatron proclaimed.
“Whatever you say, Buckethead,” Wheeljack waved off, “Are you sure this plan of yours is going to work?”
“I don’t know,” Megatron answered, “But it has to be something better than the alternative.”
“I just find it funny that you of all people want to save humanity.” Wheeljack couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony.
“…why are you helping me?” Megatron asked him, “I could be using your resources against you and take over the island myself.”
“Oh that’s simple: Hanji trusts you,” Wheeljack answered with little hesitation, “And also your little human friends that hang around you and ask for your help. Seems they’re working with you willingly. It’s impressive.”
“Again, they’re not my friends,” Megatron corrected.
“My point is you changed.” Wheeljack careened his helm over to the former warlord, “Never would’ve expected it in a million years, but only on this world. Right?”
“I’d advise you to lower your expectations.” Megatron warned, “That’s exactly what the Commander has done.”
“There it is again,” Wheeljack smirked.
“Enough.” Megatron stood up and stormed out of the room, not wanting to acknowledge that Wheeljack may have had some truth to his words.
