This is an unfinished draft that I'm clearing out. "why not finish it?" because I'm lazy and ik I'll never do it.
I never thought I'd say this about anything, but AoT needed more filler (not me acting like this is an uncommon take).
Tldr: The 104th barely had on screen interactions with the vets (excluding Hange and Levi), It made most of the vet's deaths boring and made it look like the kids didn't really care about their comrades. It also made their interactions feel too inhuman, robotic, whatever, you get it.
This show might be my hyperfixation, but my memory is flaming horse shit. So if I'm forgetting something that did happen, I apologize.
OG Levi squad: Their deaths were done great (not in the anime, we dont talk about the flashback). In my opinion it was the one of best in the whole series most built up and it was shocking. They were clearly a very strong, (almost) unstoppable team with great unity, motivation and loyalty towards Levi and to the Corp. The 4 of them worked well together and they worked well with Eren and Levi. They built a bond with Eren and Levi. Learned to trust Eren, and Eren learned to depend more on his comrades.
Those kids in the 34th squad(I think that's what it's called): they weren't that fleshed out, but when we did see them interact with Eren in s1 they clearly got to know eachother well, and Eren clearly cared about all of them. But the rest of the 104th (besides armin, he cried at least.) and the traitors? Mikasa and Annie never even mentioned Mina. None of the guys mentioned Thomas. If there were any more characters there I don't remember them.
Milieus: I only remember his name because of AoT tactics. I didn't even remember how or why he died. But according to the wiki he got mentioned again. "Royal Government arc
While speaking to Historia Reiss under the Reiss Chapel, Eren mentions Milieus as being among the victims he and Grisha Jaeger are responsible for killing by stealing the Titan's power." I don't remember him mentioning anyone but wiki is canon (i think)
Miche: Miche's death didn't make me feel anything (until i got obsessed with this shit show), it was shocking and a great introduction for the monkey but complete wasted potential for Miche. He was the 2nd strongest and supposedly the bravest(i dont think the word Gelgar used was brave but im not going back to look), but a talking monkey shivered his timbers. I get it he was shocked but he could have gone out cool like moblit did instead of getting his gear stolen and then torn apart. Or a death that actually proved his strength.
(I dont know how to edit this into to paragraph, but Miche was there on the misson they found Ilse's notebook, he would have known it was posible for a titan to talk. I can't imagine how it would feel to have a 17 meter primate towering over me, but from what I remember he was just shocked because monkey could talk.) For the bitches like me who can't imagine 17 meters, it would be approximately 10.5 Levi's tall. Don't quote me on that, I failed math.)
I don't remember them saying anything about him afterwards either. Like not even Erwin, someone who was in the training corps with him? AoT2 made his death more meaningful then the source material. I know Miche was in the "I'm on a mountain of corpses" scene but like nobody was worried? Levi and Hange, two of the most empathetic characters, not a single word about Miche. Why even give these characters names, heights, weights and birthdays if you just murder them. CONNIE DIDNT EVEN MENTION HIM DISSAPPEARING WHEN HE TALKED TO ERWIN. ik that wasn't the focus of the scene at all but not even a sentence about Miche or his squad.
This post wasn't that serious to being with, here's the even less serious bits I added so I can wrap this the fuck up.
Erwin: he literally just wanted to kill himself, there's no other explanation. Levi should have showed Erwin Queen instead of Elton John.
Ymir: also seems like she just wanted to kill herself. Isayama should have just given her amnesia or something, it would have made more sense than "Paradis might actually have a future, too bad I won't be here to see. It I'm going with twiddle dee and twiddle dumb. See you later wifey." (Direct quote from chapter #32: kiss my ass.)
I just can't imagine loving someone as much as Ymir loved Hisu, and then fucking leaving. Especially when she thought that Paradis had a future, she knew she could help the survey corp, she could live out the rest of her years with the one she loved and help so many more people then the two jack asses.
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN ARMIN'S DEATH(nsrs at all, but 'what if?' yk.): it would have been a fitting end for his character, he would have died proving his worth and making a sacrifice for the betterment of humanity. He could have been spared from isayama's questionable writing after chapter 90. And hopefully Erwin wouldn't have sat around for 4 years not making any plans knowing that the outside world wants to blow up Paradis and think that a conversation is going to fix the entire world hating eldians. (Don't get me wrong, Erens plan was shit too.)
I can't talk about any deaths after this, just adding the last bits gave me a headache, covering the rest would probably give me an brain aneurysm.

Levi would for sure be the kind of guy to use his scars and injuries to mess with kids.
“How did you lose your eye?”
“I didn’t listen to my mother”
“Why are you missing fingers?”
“This is what happens when you don’t eat your veggies”
