remember when i was working on MXY/WWX for GOM? LMAO i put this off for a while. probably rightfully- it's a struggle to finish things in time for my chapter upload if i work on other things.
i have been thinking about working on this for a while, every time i look at the mxy concept sketches i did, but i didn't do it until tonight when i was streaming and thinking of what to do next since i didn't know which drawing to do for GOM yet this chapter [i've not written enough of it and i don't wanna draw any of the current stuff]
but anyway, the three stages of WWX post resurrection in GOM! i'll explain the thought process/details of his character below! read more line just to shorten this post length. See more GOM or other mdzs projects in my master post!
-he's a bit more feminine in MXY's body -his hair is a bit less messy [i miss you, random fly aways...] -he's of course a bit shorter like canon -his eye shape is more like my mxy sketches [so a bit sharper and more almond-like with some slightly more pronounced lashes] -he continues to wear the same earrings MXY did as well to prevent suspicion -He styles his hair in a halfup-halfdown to differentiate himself from his old self [which would be the ponytail or the down style] because he feels too obvious if he wears a red ribbon and his old style. -wears some sort of very typical robe instead of black and red. will deliberate on this down the line but i think the manhua robes he wears when he's early mxy is the coloring i want, dark but not black and red. *lwj probably struggles with this bc he wants him to wear something better and more familiar, but he will concede and get him something similar to what he was already wearing so he's not dirty and bloody.
-Once he's settled [not just when he gets found out, but after the battle in guanyin temple] he starts wearing his hair as he fancies however he'd like. Primarily this is the down style cuz i LOVE yllz style, but ponytail and the half-up style are things he will still do if he or his husbando wants it that way].
-He prefers to wear styles that make him look most like his old self, so the down style is preferred for both of them.
-MXY's natural body scent is kind of tinny from the way he died, but it dissipates over time. The rest of his scent is old notes from his home and Jinlintai, faintly of peonies and strangely some sort of woman's perfume that also fades with time...
-WWX takes the small amount of feminine products that MXY leaves behind, as he has a feeling there's something important about them to the owner's body. Once everything is over, he is able to use these for his memorial tablet.

how do you do your emotes? i wanna try and make some myself!
How Do I Do My Emotes? [ANSWERED]!!
So, we've been drawing for the past, like, 14 - 15 years!
We just now started drawing little emojis. This started because we saw a lack of requests being answered in the system/therian-otherkin emoji community on Tumblr!
How do we do our emojis? Well..
We use Clip Studio Paint Pro. It costs money, sadly; but we got it for free with our drawing tablet! However, you don't need some fancy art program to make emojis like these! You can always use ibisPaint (free on iOS, Android, and desktop), Kleki (free), FireAlpaca (free), etc.
With posed emojis, we start out with a simple and messy sketch. References from real-life poses and other emoji blogs are very useful. Don't copy, though!
We do that quick outline to make the emoji have its signature messy-ish and homemade style! We like to choose non-clashing colors to avoid eyestrain. Bright, yet mellow colors are the ones we choose for our emojis!
Expression practice is also key for making nice emojis! You can look up cursed emojis, expressions, cartoons, etc. to help with this.
If you're new to art and emoji making, start off with simple projects, don't overwhelm yourself! Trying to form your own style and taking time is very important!
I think I covered all that I saw fit. I hope it answered your question! Good luck with your emoji making.
Stay hydrated, take care!

You're an amazing artist, and I look up to you. And I just wanna say that I can't wait till you post more art!!
Your style is amazing, and I'm just starting to do digital art, is there any tips you can offer? ^^
Also- have an amazing day/night!!
THANK YOUUU!!!!!! uuuh i dont think i rlly have any super special tips as far as digital art goes- with me it was more so getting used to the hand eye coordination since I'm not looking directly at what my hand is drawing and also unless ur some big super fancy Digital Artist as a profession or something i personally say dont pay a damn CENT for any art programs or w/e if you want to that's cool no problem but as far as the weird pressure of ''o i need a fancy art program with all these expensive brushes in order to make anything gOoD'' its horse shit tbh!!!! I just use Fire Alpaca its totally free with a bunch of cool little features that also lets you make your own brushes n stuff plus its virus free as far as I can see I'm sure my dad would've beat my ass over it yeeears ago when i first downloaded it if it did have any 😂 so from downloading it on the family computer to my shitty 2006 laptop to my "PC" now it seems to be doin fine 👍 SAME GOES 4 TABELTS I had my first tablet that i assume was like 70 bucks back then and I had it for like over a decade and the only reason I finally recently got a new one was my 1st tablet's wire was getting bent and i almost drew a hole it it and it had blind spots and reaaally having trouble with pen pressure lmfao(still works tho so it's now a backup):
Tumblr media
and it seems like the no screen tablets are getting waaay cheaper bc my new one feels like im living the luxury and it was 70 bucks too but with may more pen sensor things and a little mini touch screen thing:
Tumblr media
so yeah u aint gotta have the newest coolest tablet neither 😤 uuuuh another one is be patient ig?? as in u dont gotta do a whole ass illustration with shading and background n all that at first, I think for a good couple years I had my tablet I just colored over scanned drawings i did on paper bc I just didn't like actually drawing with my tablet pffft so i mean easing into it worked for me. I suppose, with anything, just trust the process and an unfinished digital piece may look different than an unfinished piece done traditionally so don't discouraged aaand yeah i think thats all I got hOPE U HAVE AN AMAZING DAY/NIGHT TOO!!!

Weekly Update: 5/8/23 - 5/13/23
Creative Work:
I'll admit it: I just had to drop everything and make fan art of C2ndy2c1d's "Assassin AU" for the Ed Edd n' Eddy series... I'm sorry, when I saw the mother and the Kizuki of the spider family, in Demon Slayer, the puppeteering and cutting threads just reminded me of the alternate Sarah and Jimmy. So, I had to draw fan art of them replicating said slicing and puppeteering. I'm doing the "bases" traditionally, via pencil-sketching, and utilizing my lightboard and glue to overlay cut-out "pieces" for an easier outline completion overall. Trust me, better to draw over illuminated notecards than to sketch overlapping features on other parts...
To be honest, part of me is screaming at myself over not using the "faster" tablet of mine to make the bases instead; but then I scream back at that part how I hate doing sketching digitally, and I only ever wanna digitally draw when it comes to outlines and coloring. I know, I know, doing the sketches digitally allows for easier manipulation and all, but it just feels easier to whip up a pencil "base" and do the fancy-pants digital stuff after scanning it. Perhaps it's the fact that with DIGITAL sketching, I also had to basically draw everything TWICE: not just the basic shapes, but the hair/eyes/etc. as PART of the base, then tracing over it all for the final outline? I dunno, with simple, blank "bases" on traditional paper, I can easily just draw the fancy-pants digital lines only ONCE while outlining everything...
As for Getting Your Goat, the first chapter image is almost completed, too: it simply needs to be colored in and have the appropriate lettering added. That'll be my next priority, once I get that fan art image out of my head and onto paper/file.
I'm also still enjoying some "writing practices" on the side, particularly another EEnE themed one. Honestly, it may technically count as a "series" at this rate, given the consistent factors... The main characters of interest always seem to be Sarah, Jimmy and Claire (You, whenever the 2nd person POV isn't changed); each "entry" has some focus on characters learning an overall theme of being better to others/yourself; and some other things. But still, it's something meant to improve writing abilities for actual "mainline" stuff from me. Still, I'd recommend seeing if you simply enjoy it as a fan fiction fan, if not to critique it.
Personal Life:
So far, I think I'm seeing results from exercising during the weekdays, instead of saving it all for a back-to-back session on the weekend. Of course, that could also be the factory work helping shape those calories into muscles. Nothing like an after-work workout, with some fun cartoons to serve as your "timer" with their overall runtime. Don't forget the 2 minute "rests," though!
I've also heard word the factory plans to switch to a "9-4" schedule: 4 days of 9 hours, with the addition of only 4 hours on Friday. I'm hoping to use that to my advantage, somehow, when it comes to creative work and all. I can already plan ONE idea of how: no more overtime on the weekends~, so plenty of time to do stuff then.
Misc.:
I'm thinking of just getting rid of my traditional monitor and keeping my tablet as the unofficial "gaming/creating laptop," made courteous of my wireless keyboard. Seriously, you find some good stuff at thrift stores-- referring to the keyboard, though, no way you'd find something like the drawing tablet I have now there...
Also, it's amazing how, even as an adult, you'll still feel fear toward certain characters in animation... I don't think I'll fully get over my anxiety of Brak, the space cat pirate, and even Sarah and Jimmy can still be a bit intimidating. ... What? Sarah is undoubtedly stronger, no matter how ripped I'd get, and Jimmy can be a cunning fiend. I'm not ashamed to admit, I felt a bit anxious and terrified the night I went to the wiki for the unnofficial EEnE "sequel," titled "Peach Creek," and read he'd be a rather conniving individual. I dunno what it is, but I've a strong fear toward helplessness, and they can be a duo of outclassing brain and brawn. Those "Assassin AU" versions of themselves up the antae, now that Jimmy's supposed to be as physically capable, and the duo's main gimmicks are puppet strings and equally physically manipulative acupuncture. I know, I just deserved to have an inquisitive eyebrow raised at me, at times...

Excuse me can I just say, I was just gone a a year and OMG YOUR ART really improved, the mod who drew naruto. The uh black hair girl white eye color lol. Do you use anything fancy like a cintiq? I personally just have an ipad 10.5 😭 but I haven’t been drawing as much, and practicing. Can you share your drawing tips? You use clip studio right? What brushes did you use to color or lineart? My art friends all say, to look up refs, trace, study the anatomy. Cause dear god, listen if you ever have commissions open please please. I would absolutely throw money at you. Sorry if this ended up being long lol. If you have a personal blog I’d be cool messaging you over there instead. Don’t wanna clog up the askbox -art anon
Tumblr media
ANON WHAT THE HECK?? WHAT THE HECK????? THAT'S SO SWEET I'M GONNA CRY HHH??H??HHHHHHH??H?
sdkfjhdsfj okay lemme gather uhmm:
- This is my personal blog so you're in the right place :D asks are only at asksds
- I've been using a Wacom Intuos Pro M for years and I'm very happy with it!! I do actually have a Cintiq at work, and it's very handy for what I'm doing there, but for my private art I prefer the Intuos because with the Cintiq I always feel like my hand is in my way haha. That's just me and my preference though! My best friend uses her iPad, after she has worked with a regular drawing tablet and screen tablet, and she's super super happy with it, so it depends on the person.
- I do use Clip Studio, I even upgraded to EX in the last sale because I love it so! Currently my favourite brush for sketches is this one, and I occasionally use it to line as well (like with these Hinata-doodles), but generally I use the basic G-Pen in Clip for lineart, like here. For asks in asksds I use a brush I got from the asset store once called Bird's Lineart Brush, but I think it was deleted ;; it's very similar to the G-Pen though, the only difference is that the stroke-tips are a little more blunt.
- As for tips (this got a bit long so I'm putting it under a Readmore):
1) be lazy. I don't have as much time for drawing anymore since I got a fulltime job (hence why I don't upload a lot), so when I do I just take shortcuts, which is why I love Clip so much. I have downloaded countless brushes in the asset store so I don't have to draw a full plate of macarons 3 times and can just use a brush for it (btw. I counted and I have 67 lace brushes...wow.), and make a lot of use of the 3D-Models, especially for perspective. The bigger comic-updates in sds exist only because I use 3D-Models and rulers and whatnot, and I love them. Fuck the mindset of that being cheating (which I did have myself, I used to be like "But I should just KNOW how to do perspective!"). It gets the job done and you have more time for other art or other things. Win-Win!
2) Using refs, tracing and studying anatomy are all true tips which I also support, but just saying it like that is frustrating and too nebulous as a concept (it always felt that way to me at last), so lemme try to explain why. An excellent tip I read once is that art is like a language - you can't just craft something from yourself, but you need to learn the vocabulary first to get there. Likewise, you need to do those things so you train your hands and muscle memory. If you trace a thigh 100 times, your hand starts to just kinda know how the line is supposed to flow. tbh you could compare it to rhythm games, the longer you play, the more your fingers just kinda take over, and actively thinking about it makes you play worse.
That's not to say that it's some magical fix or you "know" art then! It's just that you don't have to actively think about everything you do anymore since your hands do part of the work, because you trained them for it and they remember.
Using refs and studying anatomy imo are intertwined. What I felt has worked the most for me (and keep in mind that I don't study a lot and I really really should do it a lot more so don't be like me) is actually trying to grasp the basics of skeletal structure and muscle build. There's a really good book called "Anatomy for sculptures", which is WILDLY useful for explaining and grasping muscle structure (you can find it online if you know where to look wink wink), and an app called C.Anatomy, which has a paywall for the full content, but the free version has a really nice 3D-Model of a skeleton which you can rotate and look at. I also really recommend MangaMaterials, she's a pretty big inspiration to me and explains the concepts of studying anatomy extremely well on her Youtube-channel.
Basically, if you know at least the base structure of the body, you start to kind of understand the random bumps and connections on the human body which makes it easier to reproduce them I feel. And again, I don't do this NEARLY enough myself and I make a lot of mistakes still, but even just doing it for a bit helps a lot imo.
HOPE THIS HELPS!! This ask made me so happy skdfhjkj I hope you have a fantastic weekend Art Anon!!

Your sasuke is better the original sasuke. But miss kendra when will be getting the procreate timelapse 🥺 👉🏼👈🏼(no pressure btw im just wondering) also i know youve done a review on the ipad and procreate before but im really curious if you have any other findings or thoughts when using procreate. Because ive been debating whether to get a laptop or just an ipad for my digital art.
thank uuuuuuuuuuu tbh kishimoto should just step down nd let me fix naruto. nd ummmmmmmmmm the timelapse will be coming soon. im like hyperfocused on this one drawing im doing nd once im done w that i can revamp my art yt nd post these vids cabuz tumblrs 100 mb video limit is TRASH. nd if ure deciding btwn a laptop nd a ipad i think it comes down to how complicated your digital art process is nd how portable u want ur setup to be! like if u wanna do a lot of precise graphic work, elaborate painting w blends, or use a lot of references i would recommend getting a laptop. personally im just more comfortable using my big drawing tablet for big elaborate pieces u can get all fancy w procreate i’ve seen the examples but i had to buy special brushes to get the kind of blend i like w procreate nd the smaller screen/clunky controls at times makes it harder for me to do super detailed stuff. BUT if you like being portable nd have a more minimalistic or painterly style (bc procreate’s texture brushes are some of the best ive ever seen!!!!!!!! like u can recreate oil painting nd water color nd crayons w ease) then procreate would be better bc it’s WAY cheaper than photoshop if u get the subscription nd i live nd die by paint tool sai but it’s texture feature don’t hit as hard (i won’t bore u w the specifics but yeah)

What kinda grafic tablet + software do you use? And how tf do I get good at digital drawing? I wanna learn but have no ideal where to start haha ^^“
i draw in krita (free program!!) and my tablet is an old wacom intuos5 (i think they’re called intuos pro now?) tho i rly wanna invest in an ipad so i can draw away from my pc setup :3c
& no idea man!!! practice :’) digital art can take a little while getting used to when you don’t have a screen tablet but it’s not thaaat hard (some ppl even prefer regular tablets bc ur hand isn’t blocking part of the img like on screen ones!) and then it’s just a matter of how much work and time ur willing/able to put in. i’m bad at doing studies so basically i just learn whatever i need to as i’m trying to draw what i want to (lol)
but if you can then following tutorials for anatomy/painting and redrawing images to match color/perspective etc (just don’t post em w/o permission, be sensible abt it) are the best way to improve quickly i’ve found!! like if you see a picture where the lighting makes you go :O!! then try and replicate that & if you get overwhelmed just doing simple stuff like painting an apple. painting jewelry. painting an eye. putting lineart on some fancy detailed clothes. small stuff rly!! can be both soothing and help u improve a lot ahahah i should take my own advice more often rip

Gonna work real hard and try to get this damn animation done before Megacon hhhh. The past few months since I started it were just really stressful, so I lost alot of motivation, but I really wanna get it out there. (plus my artstyle has improved slightly since when I started so I wanna get it done before I think it’s too ugly lol) But yeah, I really want to start doing more animatics too. I have quite a few songs that I wanna do stuff for, and I’m actually really excited. I got Clip Studio Paint for my iPad(the fancy EX version too, so I can use the animation features). Hopefully this’ll improve my workflow and allow me to complete things faster. Since I’ve been using my Cintiq to do this animation, I’ve really noticed the difference from drawing on it, vs drawing on my iPad. I still love the Cintiq and I’ll always recommend it for someone looking into screen tablets, but I’ve realized how much better my linework and stuff comes out on my iPad. I think the difference with the pen and accounting for parallax and stuff just makes it slower for me to work on the Cintiq, and I feel like my lines are sloppier and overall, the iPad just feels alot more immersive for me at the moment. So, I’m hoping if I can start doing animations on my iPad using CSP, it’ll actually allow me to produce more content at a faster rate, and better quality. I’ve also gotten alot more confident and comfortable with my sketches lately, so maybe I won’t be such a perfectionist and try to complete everything with full lines and color lol. We’ll see. If I’m unable to work with CSP for animation, I guess I’ll try to work in Procreate. At the very least I should be able to do animatics, since they don’t require me to use onion skins or fuck around with timelines and frame lengths. Of course it’ll be a bitch to transfer everything from my iPad to my computer, but that’s not a huge deal. Honestly, I’m so happy with my decision to purchase my iPad. It’s been so great for me, and has totally been worth it. I’ve been using it for almost a year now, almost exclusively tbh. Probably 90% of all the art I’ve produced in the past year has been from the iPad. But yeah! I hope you guys will enjoy all the things I have planned. Me and @machonachos have so much fun stuff in store for everyone. :3

hi. hello. this is a bit embarrassing but i'm trying to buy my bf a tablet sort of thing so he can draw his arts. he's been wanting one forever but hasn't rly shown me which one he wants. i want to surprise him n buy a good one worth the money n was just curious if you had any suggestions. i've looked into wacom products, but i'm just such a noob to these things n was hoping you can help... i understand if this is silly, you don't have to reply! ur just so amazing, ur opinion is trustworthy 😅☺️
Okay, so, this is just my opinion and since it’s based completely on personal experiences it’s gonna possibly be incredibly different from other people’s opinions, so I just wanna make clear from the start that this is a personal preference and isn’t in any way meant as an absolute truth
Anyway, as far as I’m concerned when you’re just starting out you don’t need anything fancy at all. As an aspiring digital artist your bf might have looked up tablets and cried tears of blood over how much he’d like a cintiq or anything similar, but my very personal opinion is that fancy stuff is gonna be pretty much useless to you and be generally a waste of money? You’re just learning, you don’t need anything more than the basics. My suggestion is that you pick something simple and easy to use - I own this wacom intuos, had it for a long while and I like it a lot, but there’s also less expensive options you can go for too that people seem to like just as much! I’ve lately read on my dash about the Huion H610, they say it doesn’t cost much at all but it’s just as good as the Intuos, that could be a good option for you~
Anon said:  Hey!!! I was wondering if its ok to rb your oc art? I realized a lot less people rb those and i get anxious easily so... also i really don't want to disrespect either! But i always thought of rebloging as a way of saying "i appreciate your art" and i really really (really ) like yours (both the style and itself in general). (I hope you dont mind my bad english ha ha) i hope you don't mind this stupid ask! Im still kind of new to tumblr
It’s 100% okay!!!! *O* Thank you for liking them enough to want to reblog them ;A; !!!!
Anon said:i miss ur bokuroteru so much 😭💕 i love ur art but whenever i see ur header, i just remember ur bokuroteru comic and my heart cries storms for them to be seen again.
Aw anon I’m super happy you like my stuff for those three but as of now inspiration in that department is... super low... and tbh the haikyuu fandom is being incredibly unresponsive and non-vocal about their appreciation of fanworks in this period so even when I do have ideas for that fandom I sort of. Let them go. Or just sketch them out and never finish them.
Like, you know the whole deal about having to draw for yourself and not for others? That’s what I do 100% of the times when I’m starting a drawing, but to draw for myself I don’t exactly need to finish a drawing, you know? Sometimes there’s a scene I wanna see and I sketch it out in a super rough way and as far as my personal desire to see it goes I’m satisfied with that, and everything after that - the cleaning and lining and maybe even coloring - I put the effort in it because I want to share it with people. And the deal with the Hq!! fandom lately is that they don’t share my excitement for it. They either only like it, or don’t comment on it, or comment only to complain about this or that thing. In the worst case posting hq!! only ends up with people asking me to draw something else (ie I feel like drawing Karasuno so I draw it and post it and no one comments/rb/says anything about it but there’s 20 asks in my inbox asking me why I haven’t drawn any bok*ro lately)
When I think about posting stuff for hq lately I automatically compare it to posting stuff for bnha where I could draw a background character that appeared once 120 chapters ago and there’s still gonna be people that go “yes! that character!! I love that character!!! can’t believe there’s actual art for it oh my god!!!!” - that’s... that’s the sort of reaction that makes you wanna share stuff
I dunno, maybe I’m just expecting too much out of the hq fandom. But anyway, sharing for bnha makes me way happier and glad I decided to finish a drawing lately, so I guess that’s what’s happening there.
Anon said:Every time your soft doods art shows up on my dash I have to pause and take a deep breath and just thank god for all the good in the world because I'm blown away every single time
This is s o s w e e t oh my god ;A; thank you so much!!!!
Anon said:Johnny is a fucking angel dammit. Have you read the new DGM already?? I'm in tears. I love this manga so much. The frequency of the releases are killing me... it has such a great story and great characters. It needs more love
I did read it!!!! And yeah the fandom used to be way bigger, but honestly I’m glad it’s just the couple dozens people it is. Like a small town where everyone knows everyone else. No drama, no discourse. Everyone ships what they want and we all pass each other tissues to dry the tears. The only argument that happens regularly is people complaining about the relase schedule and the old fans telling them to let Hoshino live. A good place, this fandom’s a good place.
DGM was my playground for most of my experimenting as far as creating art goes, I really did reach in all directions with it through the years and it helped me shape myself a lot, so I really want it to stay quiet and nice and peaceful, that’s my dream for it haha smaller fandoms have a better chance to keep that freedom
Anon said: Oh man, I live for that Togata x Amajiki interaction
You talking about the color spread cause yes that was adorable!!! ;A;
Anon said:I look a little, and do you still draw Bakugo x Kirishima x Kaminari?
Sure, it’s still my main ship for Kaminari and my main ot3! Just wait for Denki to start being relevant in the manga again, I’ll probably fall headfirst into it all over again haha
Anon said:Your art is so wonderful you're wonderful everything's so wonderful i'm crying omg
SOB no anon you’re wonderful!!!!
Anon said:Due to my brain not wanting to cooperate with me (ever), Bakugou Katsuki is now Batsuki Katsuki in my head.
This is the funniest thing I’ve read today and I’m in t e a r s hahaha
Anon said:Artistic!Mina making pop art and colorful paintings :o what are ur thoughts
HELL YES that’s my main headcanon for Mina, she’s definitely an artsy girl!!! I like the idea of her sharing it with Bakugou t b h
Anon said:I'm still just repeatedly looking at your newest KiriBaku because hot damn.
I’m super glad you liked it!!!!!!! oh my gOD!!!!!!!
Anon said:Heyy please rec Kami comics please! I'm in a Kami art shortage and I currently can't find art as awesome as yours...
I’m so sorry I wish I could help you with this but I don’t know anyone who draws lotsa Kaminari either ;---;

Little Details {An Au}
“Y’know, like, Nya?” - Ancient Furry Proverb
“Art is hard.”
“Yeah, but money’s nice dude.”
Drift glared at his... colorful companion. Sketchbook untouched next to mug number five of the dark coffee he swore you could only find at the Shotgun diner- where they currently sat.
Roddy; poli-sci major, “fashion” icon, and Drift’s best friend since high school- cackled and slurped loudly from his coke glass, “At least you won’t be spending four hours hunched over a sewing machine like Gollum with the One Ring.”
“Not everyone can make a grand off of a giant blue dog’s head.”
“What can I say? I’m blessed.”
“I’m not sure ‘blessed’ is how I would describe someone willingly wearing a vaporwave tank top in public.”, teased Drift, plucking at Roddy’s shirt cheekily and managing a tired laugh when Roddy swatted his hand.
“Pardon me, gentlemen- would either of you like a refill?”, asked a clipped voice from the side of their booth. Roddy turned with his Patented Debonair Smile and emphatically said, “That’d be sweet dude, thanks!”
Drift coughed awkwardly, wishing his beanie would slide down and swallow his entire head as he nodded silently.
The waiter, the nametag branding them Percy (written in curly cursive, by hand it looked), smiled from under the dark circles often brought about by midterms. Drift swallowed hard as the smell of dark coffee drifted by him as the mug was refilled, and Percy murmured that they’d be right back with another coke for Roddy.
The brightly colored student across from Drift grinned, head resting on his fist as Percy walked away with a click-clack of shoes over linoleum.
“Dude, just ask for his digits. You know you wanna.”
“The last thing he probably wants to hear at 3 in the morning is some artsy douche asking for his number.”, sighed Drift, letting himself watch where Percy worked behind the counter, “Besides, he’s probably taken, I mean- pretty guys like that are NEVER available and you know it.”
“It can’t hurt to try, I mean- you’ve only been pining over him for what, three weeks?”
“Listen.”
“I HAVE listened, man- and you got some bad puppy love going on. Which is... pretty ironic.”
“Shut your face.”, snorted Drift, taking his mugs in his hands, “Though... isn’t he STEM? You’d think the studying would kill him working nightshift. I mean, didn’t your friend Nautica almost have a breakdown?”
“Nah, she just had... way too much caffeine. Like. Way too much.”
“How much is too much?”
“Remember that time someone dared me to down a whole case of-”
“Don’t. Don’t remind me, nevermind, I understand. Poor thing, Lordy. She must’ve been vibrating into another dimension.”
Percy returned, tired smile and all, and set the glass down on a little blue napkin square in front of Roddy.
“Can I get you two anything else?”, they asked, voice gentle even as it was almost clinical.
“No, we’re good I think.”, said Drift, trying to keep his voice from dipping into that ooey-gooey I-Have-A-Stupid-Crush tone, “Thank you, though.”
“Anytime.”, said Percy with a tiny laugh, “Let me know if you change your minds.”
Drift watched the waiter walk away and pocket the tiny notebook used for taking orders and he could FEEL his face sinking into a dumb dopey smile.
“Oogachaka oogachaka you can’t fight this feeeeelin’, deep inside of-”
“I will fling this coffee at you.”
“Jeeez, alright, alright. I see we have a hater of the classics, wow.”
“You’re a demon, why are we friends.”
“Because I may be a demon, but I’m an awesome demon who throws the best parties and doesn’t narc on your big gay crush on the cute waiter at the diner you like to sketch at. AND I pay for your coffee when I come with you.”
“....Good point.”
“Speaking of sketches, have you thought of any adoptables? I hear they’re all the rage for commissioners- you could probably make a good chunk of change.”
Drift nodded absently, watching Percy as they bustled about behind the counter-
“Oi Percy! Can you run back trash out real quick for me? I’m in the middle of clearing out one of the fryers- second shift destroyed it, it’s like a warzone man!”
“Alright, coming!”, called Percy, irritation present in the tone of voice. Drift watched them rustle around behind the counter- pulling out a hoodie with a very familiar superhero logo branded on the front before tugging it down over a crisp white shirt.
The idea-bulb dinged in Drift’s head.
“Bats.”
“What?”, said Roddy.
“Bat adoptables. Why not, right? Bats are cute.”
Drift flipped open his sketchbook, passing over three or four feline commissions until he found a blank page and began to sketch. Bats with glasses, bats with little patterns like bowties and aprons and all manner of odd spots. He dragged open the backpack next to him, pulling out a few colored pens and scratching out what color would go where as Rody leaned over the table to watch.
“...Okay, those are REALLY cute.”
“Yeah, fruit bats.”, said Drift, “Based on actual fruits-”
He looked up to see Percy returning from wherever they’d gone, drying hands after having scrubbed them clean. The tired waiter glanced around the diner, and seeing no one immediately in need of his attention, dug back into the pile where the hoodie had come from.
A lunchbox was pulled free- nothing spectacular or fancy; but functional nonetheless. Percy unzipped it, reaching in and pulling free a tangerine and a bag of those weird banana chips Drift sometimes saw the vegan in his history class eating.
“And I think the first ones will be bananas and tangerines.”
“That sounds like a capri sun flavor.”
“Not everyone lives on capri-sun and retro rock music Roddy.”
“Uh, clearly they are not living life to the fullest then- unlike me.”
Drift snorted before looking back to his sketchbook and setting to work. A few more coffee refills and another set of snuck glances at Percy and then Drift had enough to work with. Roddy waved the artist off, snatching up the bill and bouncing up to the counter with some song stuck in his head already. Drift snickered to himself as he left a healthy tip on the table, following his brightly colored friend out to the parking lot after the bill was paid only for Roddy to call out “Shotgun!” and all but dive into the passenger seat of Drift’s car.
“Dude, that’s only necessary if there’s other people riding with us.”
“With as big as your crush is I wanted to make sure there was room for me in the car.”
Drift blew a raspberry at Roddy, who only winked back before shutting the passenger door.
When they arrived back to their dorm, Drift made a beeline for his computer desk, moving his tablet off his chair and onto his lap.
And he began to draw.
After a “quick” marathon of five hours (and a juice-pak being lobbed at his head from Roddy), Drift had a set of 4 bat adoptables- ready made and ready to go to post to his art profile.
“How much should I charge per?”
“Probably your usual for those cute chibi designs?”
“Yeah, took about the same amount of time.”
The clack of keys and Drift yawned wide- until there was a notification beep from his phone.
He blinked, looking down.
[EldritchKawaii: Zomg so cute!!! I’d like Tangerine if its alright?]
[deadl0ck: sure thing, lemme send paypal info?]
[EldritchKawaii: Awesomeness, me and my wallet eagerly await!]
Drift leaned back, “I just got these up, what the hell?”
“What, you sold one already?”
“Yeah, Tangerine- hang on, wait. Tangerine, Blueberry, and Fruit Punch.”
Within the hour, all had been sold and there were already inquiries about a new batch.
Drift couldn’t help but laugh, turning back to his sketchbook, “I should’ve tipped Percy forty bucks; I think he just helped me pay this months bills!”
Roddy cackled from where he sat at his sewing machine, picking through his threadbox, “I guess we’ll just have to go back to Shotgun, huh?”
“Guess so. I can’t wait.”

hi do you know what your characters look like? :D i'm kinda feeling like i wanna try drawing one or two of them when i'm home and have the time to do something with my drawing tablet ^^
#blessed. 💕
Rü: cisgender white boy with short-ish wavy black hair and brown eyes, 1.70m tall, chubby, average-looking - looks put-together and comfortable all the time, puts 70% effort in choosing his clothing, nothing fancy but not a slob either
Mari: cisgender white boy with short straight blonde hair and blue eyes, a tall 1.90m, pretty, athletic/fit - doesn’t care about his appearance, wears what you give him, even if it’s a potato sack so his parents hired a professional stylist for him (unless Elias is in the picture, then he becomes A Fairytale Prince™ without anyone’s help)
Nina: cisgender white girl with blonde hair just to her shoulders, blue eyes, freckles, 1.75m tall, athletic/fit - cares about her appearance, always looks put together and professional but doesn’t mind looking like a slob when home with friends (she keeps some sweats and baggy t-shirts at Rü’s place)
Eli: cisgender black boy with short black hair (kinda like military cut?) and brown eyes, 1.96 tall, very pretty and athletic (he’s got them defined abs and everything) - cares a lot about his appearance, has to look perfect all the time, will be A Mess™ if not.
Ice: tansgender black nonbinary/boy with colorfully dyed hair and hazel eyes, 1.70m tall, chubby and cute, used to be considered ugly, thinks they’re average-looking - doesn’t care too much abt their appearance, looks put-together 95% of the time, mostly prefers the aesthetic of stereotypical boy so often wears binders and likes to change hair (color, length, style) a lot

So, a few days ago I got out a tube of henna that's been sitting in the freezer and I've barely used, and now I have henna designs on the tops of my hands/fingers, the insides of my lower arms, the outside of my upper arms, and the tops of my feet. It takes roughly two hours for the henna to dry and set(at least that's how long I wait and it works well) I did the hands the first day, the lower arms yesterday, and today right now I'm waiting for the upper arm and foot stuff to dry and set. I have another hour and a half or so to go. :'D I think I might have gotten myself addicted to drawing henna on myself, please send more henn- I mean help. I'm actually happy about how they turned out so far. For the most part I've been basing them off of a picture I found and all of them have been roughly based around that picture. The last time I did a henna was on my hand and I just made it up as I went, later regretting it, and had to live with it until it went away. Not this time! Since I got into henna tattoos, I've always done my own, since it's too expensive to get it done if you ask me(unless you wanna go out with friends, even then, it's more fun to just draw on each other if you ask me ;) ) Also, I don't use any fancy precision bottles like the actual professionals use, I just go straight from the henna tube onto my skin, no fuss. And, considering that and the fact that I have like zero artistic talent, they actually turned out well this time and I'm very happy with them (also, I cheat a little, I'm ambidextrous so it's easier for me to do it with my non dominant hand than for other people to do so). Anyways, now to the point of this long rant about my new addiction and doing this to myself. Art is not something you should be afraid to do. There really is no "right" way to do it, or a type you have to do (water color, digital, pencil, etc.) to have it be "cool" or "correct". Art isn't supposed to be this thing that you dread doing, it's supposed to be fun! It's supposed to be your special way of showing what you want to show to others, however that may be. It's your way of expressing yourself and there no wrong way to do that! So you go out there and do whatever kind of art you want to do! Whatever style, type, technique, wherever you want to! On a canvas, on a tablet (on a phone), on a wall, on your own skin. Art is your way to express yourself and show that you exist, you have your own thoughts, and you can do stuff too! So go out and have fun with the art you do, however you do it. Art isn't meant to be for someone else, it's for you. You are in control of what happens and as long as you're just doing it it'll turn out perfectly and exactly how it's meant to. Don't be afraid, just go out and art.
