Welp,,, I did it,,,,

I started working on a project several months ago after years of telling myself I wasn't good enough or talented enough.

I'm sitting here and realizing none of it would have happened if it wasn't for the Jonsa fandom. This ship made me write, and then the fandom helped me keep going.

1. are you named after anyone?

A great-grandmother and a Queen.

2. when was the last time you cried?

Last week, from the existential weight of it all.

3. do you have kids?

Nope, and who knows if I ever will.

4. what sports do you play/have played?

Netball (so much netball), fencing and ballet.

5. do you use sarcasm?

All the time. But being at university has made me realise that some people will indeed take what I say at face value, and that can be incredibly awkward.

6. what's the first thing you notice about people?

How they interact with others.

7. what’s your eye color?

Slate grey, with flecks of blue and yellow.

8. scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings all the way.

9. any talents?

An uncanny ability to describe seemingly mundane things in a cursed manner that will likely never be forgotten, excellent aim with projectiles, playing music by ear, freehanding body paint, stacking refrigerators full within an inch of their existence, and word puzzles.

10. where were you born?

Sydney

11. what are your hobbies?

Writing, reading, playing music (does it count even though I do it professionally?), writing and creating new music, looking after and maintaining my treasured possessions, exploring old cities, learning more history, listening to music (which I really don't manage to do casually for leisure in my day-to-day life because of being a musician), painting my nails, sewing/needlecraft, cooking and a whole bunch of other artistic pursuits.

12. do you have any pets?

Nope, too many allergies.

13. how tall are you?

Taller than average, even in a country that has a fairly tall average height.

14. favorite subject in school?

it wildly varied, depending on who was teaching the subject and how it was presented, but in the end, it was ancient history and music history.

15. dream job?

I frankly have no concrete idea, but writing sounds nice. Maybe doing some research that has an impact on my field (I study music and brains). Playing music and performing with musicians who understand the vibes. Being a historian who gets to curate content and exhibits about little-known corners of history.

A sharp look from the dowager queen swiftly reigns in her wolfish behavior. She clings to the fullness of Sansa’s skirts as Lord Mormont dismounts his steed before them and Lady Starks’ icy gaze settles to him.

“Where is the King?” Her tone is polite, but clipped—ever the commanding queen whether she sits the throne or not.

“He meets with his small council.” The voice behind them is equally commanding despite the stature of the woman who wields it.

She is of a stunning beauty, Sansa decides when first she sees her, and couldn’t possibly be much older than herself. Her hair like spun silver is intricately plaited with soft tendrils that frame a delicate oval face and her unusually striking violet eyes regard Sansa with an equal curiosity.

“Lady Daenerys,” Catelyn stiffens, then turns in a swish of Stark gray skirts to greet her.

It likely started before they were aware of it. Probably back when they felt completely safe…or as safe as anyone feels in the city. It would be the first snowfall which would change things for Sansa. The footprints in the snow that lingered in her mind and couldn’t readily be explained away.

2022 end-of-year fic review ✨

1. what’s your ao3 account?

2. how many words did you write in total in 2022?

434,360. oops

3. how many fics did you publish in 2022 // multi-chapter vs. one-shots?

8 multi-chapter (I’m counting ephemera in this because I’m lazy), 6 one-shots, 2 follow up one-shots.

4. what was your longest-fic // shortest fic?

longest: you on the run (73,410)

shortest: say anything (2,290) (possibly something from ephemera, but I’m too lazzzyyyy)

5. what was your most popular // least popular?

my most popular are always the ones I dub my “rom-coms”, and the least popular are always my darker stuff, but I also think longer fics tend to be more popular too, so because I need things to be very organized, I’ll split them up.

6. what fic didn't perform as well as you thought it would?

I don’t know. Because I have terrible anxiety, I always feel like the thing I’m currently writing is the least performing and then once it’s completed I go “oh! the response it got was so nice!!” no matter what it is. Like I was slightly disappointed the ghost inside didn’t do 'better' because I personally adored it and had it sitting around half written for years, but also I posted 4 chapters in 4 days for the event, and the tags are SUPER off-putting. So is the format. And the subject matter.

7. what fic performed way better than you thought it would?

i’ve got your number. It was a one-shot that did a lot better than I was expecting. But I personally love it and I’m so glad everyone else did, too.

8. what was your favorite fic you wrote in 2022?

very tough. I think help me out of the shape I’m in is the one I’m the most proud of, though half of it was written in 2021. But I’m also really proud of sketches of what was there before, if only because it’s the only thing I’ve written that wasn’t shippy (in this fandom). This question is hard because as I’ve said before, I write for me and so I have a deep fondness for everything I’ve written (with some exceptions lol)

9. what was your favorite fic that somebody else wrote in 2022?

OOF I’m so bad at this. I’ve already admitted I don’t read a ton of fic anymore, and I also get SO anxious about leaving people out or making anyone feel not included? I also just plain can’t remember because time is an illusion. So I'm choosing a bunch?? These are not the only great fics though!!

I always love me some good @thewolvescalledmehome fics, like Reach Out With Both Hands and currently enjoying On the Edge of a World so Cold

@vivilove-jonsa‘s you give me goosebumps was such a fun ride to start off the new year

Late Night by @justadram because I always love reading fics where it feels like the writer is very interested in/knows a lot about the subject

She would warm up some hot chocolate, turn up her Christmas playlist, and snuggle down in some blankets to wrap all of her Christmas presents. But not this year. This year she was stuck with Jon Snow and his broken ankle.
