Mon cœur

Tumblr media
The bright sunlight filtered through the curtains, resting itself on the young woman sprawled in the bed, limbs twisting at an odd position. Vincent watched from the doorway as his beautiful lover slept peacefully, letting the sun highlight her features.
He admired her, a hot cup of coffee warming his hands and body, the only source of warmth really.
His wife liked keeping the house cold in even the coldest of weather and who was he to argue with that. Well, he was a lawyer, a good one but he was nothing compared to the wonderful woman he called his dear heart. His silver hair fell delicately over his face, framing it nicely as he walked quietly towards the sleeping woman.
Vincent set the coffee down on the bedside and made himself comfortable beside her, trailing his fingers up her back. “ mon cœur, time to wake up.” Vincent whispers, his lips near her ear as he delicately kisses her cheek. The woman stirs, eyes opening up slowly, like a cat. He grins, running his hand down her back, letting it rest there.
“There you are. It’s time to get up.” Vincent whispers as the young woman looks up at him, deciding that it’s not the time to wake up, she pulls the covers up to her chin, trying to fall into a dreamless state. Her husband laughs and scoots closer to her, fingers twirling a strand of hair.
“Vincent, it’s too early.” A muffled voice comes from the bundled figure and he grins. She’s bringing out the full name. “Not early, chérie. It’s 10am.” He tells her and the woman groans, knowing that this battle is lost, she throws the covers off her body, shooting a glare at the silver haired man.
“You are a menace, Vincent.” She tells him, pulling him down by the collar of his sweater into a loving kiss. The taste of cigarettes and coffee lingers on his tongue, a taste that she’s quite familiar with. Vincent pulls away first, knowing that if he didn’t, they wouldn’t get anything done for the day.
“Mon coeur, you have to get up. We have errands to run.” Vincent reminds her, eyes closed in content as she runs her hands through his hair.
“Hmm,” his wife hums, “We can leave them for another day.” She whispers, intent on staying in bed. Vincent laughs and pulls away fully from her, making the woman pout. She extends her hand out to him and he pulls her up, ushering her towards the washroom to shower. She listens, but not without stealing a kiss from him first.
Vincent loved his wife. She was the one person who truly held his heart and while he once loved Sandra, she was a woman of the past. His wife however, she is his present and future. The silver haired man makes his way down from their bedroom to the kitchen, starting on breakfast. His breakfast was a cigarette and a cup of coffee, his wife would not enjoy the same breakfast he did. Not this morning at least. On his way down he turns the heat up, letting the house warm up while he cooks and she showers. Vincent knows very well that while (y/n) prefers a cold house to sleep in, she does not like a cold house to stay awake in.
About half an hour later, his waist is encapsulated in a hug, face resting between his shoulder blades. Vincent turns around, throwing his arm over his wife, placing a delicate kiss on her forehead while serving her breakfast.
She frowns when she sees his lack of breakfast. “You know very well that I don’t like you eating cigarettes and coffee for breakfast.” The younger woman scolds him, eyebrows furrowed and lips pulled into a scowl. Vincent laughs, “ You my love, are one funny woman. You do the same when you think I won’t notice.” He tells her, brushing his finger along the bridge of her nose as she feels warmth rush into her cheeks. Caught in the spider web. Vincent kisses her cheek hand, encouraging her to eat while she talks nonsensically. He doesn’t listen, not really. He likes the sound of her voice, it feels like music to his ears.
After breakfast, (Y/n) goes to do the dishes but is stopped by her husband, a delicate grasp on her wrist telling her to not go any farther than just putting them in the sink. She turns to him and frowns, “You don’t let me do much, Vince.” He turns around and puts a delicate hand on her shoulder, bending down to whisper in her ear, “Let me take care of you, my love. As you do me.” She sighs, even after 3 years of marriage, he never fails to fluster her. She looks up at him, patting his chest and kissing his jaw before making her way upstairs and grabbing their coats.
Today was a busy day ahead of them. They had to run to the store, grab groceries and other necessities and while there, a visit to the flower shop wouldn’t hurt and of course, the most important part. Stocking up on wine and cigarettes. Their idea of a good evening was far too many glasses of wine and a cigarette while they danced to classical music. Well, dance was an overstatement, Vincent would grab her and sway her around the living room, cheek resting on her head while her own rested on his shoulder. She remembers this one night, Vincent had just one yet another case and they got drunk on wine, stupidly drunk. Her memory of most of the night was hazy except this. They ate cheese and talked about everything under the stars. It was before they got married and she knew at that moment she would never spend a lifetime without him.
Their relationship raised questions at first but only due to their large age gap. Many people didn’t seem to realize that the two didn’t care when it came to their age because together, they were still silly teenagers at heart laughing and giggling at stupid jokes and pictures. It was nothing illegal, she was a good 25 years old and he was 36 when they met. Dated for two years and now they were here, married and very much in love still.
“Cherie!?” Vincent’s distant voice from the bottom of the staircase pulled the young woman back from her memories as she rushed to put on red lipsticks and grab their coats. Vincent smiled at seeing her, hands in his pockets and spine curled up, like he was a cat. He is a cat, she thought, seeing him standing like that. The young woman handed him his coat while she shrugged on her own, it was cold outside and she grimaced. She liked it when the house was cold at night but she hated when it was cold outside and there were errands that needed to be run.
“Ready?” Vincent asks her, placing a cigarette between his lips as he turns to lock their door. (Y/n) shakes her head and sighs, plucking the cigarette from his mouth and placing it in her own.
“No. It’s cold, we should’ve stayed home.” The young woman whines, grabbing onto Vincent’s hand tightly and resting her forehead against his arm, cigarette dangling from her other hand. He plucks it back from her, inhaling before exhaling slowly.
“Come on, mon cœur, we have things that need to be done.” His accent thick as the words roll easily from his mouth. The drive to the grocery store was short and quiet. Music filled through the air as (Y/n) looked out the window, admiring the snow covered trees, one hand still in Vincent’s gentle hold.
He parked the car before getting out, his wife following behind him, they made their way into the store. It wasn’t large by any means but it had everything they needed. Their hands still held together as Vincent placed a small kiss on her cheek. His affection was always so soft, like a warm blanket wrapping her up.
“Let’s get the things and leave soon please.” She huffs out, crossing her arms over her chest while her husband examines the ingredients.
“Hm, do you have any plans that you’re in such a rush?” Vincent teases her, looking at her from the side of his eye. His wife rolls her eyes at his teasing.
“I know a couple things we could do.” She whispers, running a hand through his hair, a pleasant shudder going up his spine.
“Mhm.” He mumbles, at a loss of words. Only his wife was able to manage to leave the man speechless. His entire job was about talking yet as soon as she says anything suggestive, his mind goes into overdrive and the only thing that comes out is a mumble.
She notices it and walks closer, finger trailing up chest before stopping to caress his cheek, “Cat got your tongue, Vince?” She asks, a teasing smile on her face. He sighs and lets out a small, shy laugh. Putting the items in their cart, he throws an arm over her shoulder, pulling her into him, even closer than she was before.
“You, my love, manage to catch my tongue.” He tells her, gripping her neck lightly, angling her face to kiss her. It was a small kiss, nothing too intimate, no. That was saved for the privacy of their own home. They made their way down the isles, filling the cart with necessities and other things that they just felt like getting. It took them a good hour but that’s only because Vincent insisted on finding the best of the best.
“Come on, old man. I’m tired and hungry.” She grumbles, grabbing onto his arm to pull him forward and he lets her.
“Well chérie, it is time for lunch.” The older man states in an obvious tone. She looks at him for a moment before throwing her head back and letting out a small laugh. Vincent laughs with her. He loves the sound of her laugh, it reminds him of home. She is his home.
The two made their way to the car, filling the trunk up with groceries before heading to their respective spots. Vincent pauses for a minute, pulling her in by her waist and kissing her fervently. Hands on her waist as her back digs into the car, her hands wander to his neck, tugging the hair at the base of it. He pulls away, letting his forehead rest against hers.
“Where did that come from?” She asks him, doe eyes peering up into his own, making him smile.
“Je t’aime.” Vincent whispers, pulling back from her, she stares at him, hands on his face,
“Je t’aime aussi.” She replies as the older man leans into her touch.
“Come on, my love, let’s go home.” She pats his chest, making her way over to the passenger side.
Home wasn’t a building for Vincent. It was her. She’s his home. The scent of her perfume lingering in the air is home. The lipstick marks on their shared cigarette is home. Her warm body pressed up against his in bed is home. She’s his home and where she goes, he goes with her. Their souls make home in each other. If soulmates existed then she was his. He would seek for her in death and find her in each lifetime simply because his heart belongs to her and without her, Vincent is just a man without a home and heart.
A/n: I wrote this in like an hour and if there’s any mistakes or if something doesn’t make sense, let me know pls 🩷

tell me
Tumblr media
instead of writing a fic, i settled on writing just a general collection of headcanons. these are gender neutral. and uh, i'm on a mission to convert my friend to the swann arlaud agenda.
anyways watch anatomy of a fall on a big screen. don't do what i did, which is just watch it on my laptop. movie is too good to be watched on a laptop. and also be a streaming service.
these are gender neutral, by the way.
part 02
character: vincent renzi (aka. hot lawyer from anatomy of a fall)
for vibes: "tell me" by fifty fifty
Tumblr media
moving to france wasn't on your list of things to do when you were in your early teens. it was such a drastic move. but unfortunately, it made sense because your mother was a film scholar who specialized in french film and she got a job to teach at a prestigious university. it was an opportunity she had to take and you were brought along for the ride.
picking up french was not that hard. you learned in school and also picked it up from the films your mother watched. you remembered watching Cléo from 5 to 7 a lot. maybe you shouldn't have, considering its themes. being immersed in the environment helped you pick up on it quicker.
all to say, you were fluent by the time you reached university.
you don't remember which class you met him in. you just know you got put in a group together for introductions. typical first year stuff.
"vincent renzi."
he had a boyish charm to him. he looked younger than you, yet you were the same age. there was still some baby fat on his cheeks.
your smile was warm. "(y/n)."
he became one of your first friends.
university was a rough transition period. you left your old friends behind. you didn't like them that much anyways. they didn't seem to like you either. so, you essentially came into university without many friends.
it's a gradual friendship, one that arises from meeting up consistently and then those meetings evolving into hanging out for hours.
doing schoolwork while drinking coffee, reading in the library, going out for dinner. hell even cooking for each other. it was a solid friendship.
it helped that you guys also wandered in the same social circle. so you also had mutual friends, including german exchange student sandra voyter.
they always talked about how you two were together. always seen talking. always seen outside of class. even when you guys had so much work to do and you shouldn't be with him because you guys ended up distracted and procrastinating your papers.
"why do you still have this?" he asks.
it was your third year of university. your place was small cozy. and it was affordable with your two other roommates. you guys had gotten lucky with the rent.
"have what?" you don't look up from your laptop. you were nearly finished with your paper.
"this."
you look up. vincent's holding up a dvd box with a beat up cover sleeve. the colors were faded and the cardboard was bent all over, creating multiple webs.
"because it's mine?"
"it's all beat up. wouldn't it be better to transfer to a new box?" he shrugs.
"my mother gave it to me when i graduated. it's...niche, i guess." you think about how she gifted you her favorite movie and the movie she has written a whole book about.
"everyone knows Céline and Julie Go Boating."
"not in that sense. just in the sense that my mother has an interesting way to mourn me leaving the house." you still stayed with her when you went back. but graduating really proved that you weren't a kid anymore. "i really liked it when i was younger. because of the colors. the rest of the stuff did not register with me. according to her, i kept asking her to put it on."
"you must have had an interesting taste as a child."
"well...she specializes in this stuff. so i'm not surprised."
"you don't even have a tv."
"okay well, i have it for novelty sake."
your eyes return to your laptop screen. you don't notice the way vincent's eyes linger on you, watching the way your fingers intently move as you finish up your paper. or how you furrow your brows when rereading your sentence and realizing it makes no sense. or the gentle curse beneath your breath when you realize you've forgotten a word in your sentence. he's never heard someone curse so gently.
he sets the dvd back where he picked it up from, feeling the worn out cardboard.
it was your birthday. such a scary time, for it to come so soon.
originally, you thought it was going to be you, vincent, sandra, and some of your other friends. after all, vincent was good as organizing group events and outings.
when you showed up at your usual meeting spot, it was just him.
"are they going to meet us there?" you question.
"we'll meet them after." he smiles.
"what is going on in that brain of yours?"
"you'll see."
when he takes your hand, your heart flutters. you've held hands before. but never did it make you feel so...light. like a cloud. you weren't sure if you were imagining your cheeks heating up slightly.
vincent leads you to a nearby cinema. he buys two tickets for a limited showing of Céline and Julie Go Boating.
"this is so..." you can't help but let out a laugh, staring at the movie ticket.
"why not? get the full experience." his eyes are gentle. there's tenderness in his gaze. it makes you feel all warm and gooey on the inside.
"you know the movie is...over three hours long right?"
"of course. that's why i picked an earlier showing. so we can get to dinner on time later."
being in the dark with your friend for over three hours. watching a movie about two people who were coded to be lovers. what could go wrong?
nothing, really. in the eyes of someone else.
to you, and to him, everything.
you haven't seen the film in forever. so rewatching it was like watching it for the first time without being distracted by the colors.
vincent couldn't watch the movie. he was more interested in the way your face shifted, how you whispered about not remembering that happening, how you laughed and the way your lips curled so cutely.
in truth, he could care less about the movie.
you were his favorite film.
as céline and julie were in a soap opera, enacting a hetero-normative plot, you turn to look at vincent. you were wondering how your friend was holding up.
your eyes meet his and your lips can't help but curl into a smile.
"are you watching?"
"of course." his eyes flicker to the screen for a brief moment.
"or were you watching me?"
"your reactions are interesting. they tell me what i should be thinking of the film."
"i shouldn't be the one you judge this film on."
silence between you two. the kind of comfortable silence you two are used to. but something feels more different. perhaps because it was dark. perhaps because the world seemed to fall away and it was just the two of you and the film faded into the background.
you were oddly close to him. your shoulders were touching. and if you moved forward, your noses would be able to touch.
you shift closer, causing his breath to hitch. "thank you for this, by the way." when you whisper, it is a message only meant for him.
"happy birthday." he says. he moves his face closer, heart pounding.
you want to meet him in the middle. you want to feel his soft lips against your own. and yet, something grips you hard. it's stomach curdling.
you move forward, your lips on his cheek. his eyes widen and his shoulders slump a little. you pull away. "it's...nice. to have the bestest friend i know."
"that's not a word." sadness settles in his eyes.
"all words are made up. so i can make up new ones."
in the moment you felt unsure about not making a move. that regret comes to follow you in your life.
graduation came too soon. way too soon.
you had decided to leave france for a bit, go to grad school abroad. somewhere else where you could pursue an mfa in creative writing.
it was your last coffee before you guys would graduate, inevitably separating.
vincent said he wanted to tell you something. it was urgent, something important to him. you could tell he wanted to spit it out.
or did he want to vomit because he was nervous?
"stop leaving me in suspense!" you take a sip of your coffee. "what is it?"
should he tell you?
should he confess?
he wants to tell you. oh so desperately. and yet, he feels it would be selfish to.
it's not about if you didn't feel the same way. to vincent, being rejected is the better scenario.
he didn't want to keep you grounded in france, a place you were looking to leave because you have spent a decent chunk of your life here. moving was good for you.
he worried that if you felt the same way, then maybe you would reconsider going away. and if you were looking to leave forever, he didn't want to be the thing keeping you here.
i love you. i have for a while. let's go on a date.
thirteen words. three sentences.
it was so miniscule. but he felt like atlas, carrying the sky. he was carrying a whole world.
vincent wipes his palms against his jeans. his heart was stuck in his throat. and his brain acted first.
"i got accepted into law school."
"that's great! oh my god!" you nearly squeal for him.
your happiness for him was enough.
writing a hit debut novel is no easy feat. and yet, you did it. people loved your novel.
the novel centered on two friends. their platonic bond ends up in a weird limbo, where there's romantic tension but neither wants to act upon it in fear. ultimately, the two friends reunite years after they separated, on different career paths. they meet at a conference, sit at a bar, and the novel ends with them rekindling their relationship. you left it up to the reader to interpret that being romantic or platonic. or even if they never talked to each other again after that night.
you were on fire as an author. and your recent publication, a collection of short stories, had become particularly famous. especially on social media.
you decided to go back to france for a few months. you wanted to spend more time with your mother and catch up with your friends. all of them you haven't seen since university.
unfortunately it also didn't mean you were on vacation. you still had to work. and you had many book signings to attend to.
when you look up to see the next person, your heart nearly lurches out of your chest.
vincent aged like wine. he still looked like how he did in university. less baby fat. gray hair. some wrinkles. but you liked it.
his eyes meet yours and he walks over. "my favorite short story was the one about the cow farmer."
"that came from a dream i had as an undergraduate student." you open the book and sign the first page. "how are you?"
"good. good. how about you?" he smiles. he's so radiant. you're reminded why you missed him. and why you felt regret in your body from all those years ago.
"well, you already know about me." you gesture to the books. your books. "have you...met up with sandra recently?"
"on the rare occasion. she's been traveling a lot. but recently she moved here. with her husband."
"her husband...samuel?" vincent nods. "he's an interesting character. from the few times i met him."
"they seem to be doing alright." he takes the signed book and peeks at what you wrote. there's a heart next to his name.
"we should talk more. catch up."
"if you're free."
you think for a second. "can you come back in thirty minutes? i should be done by then."
vincent smiles. he leaves the bookstore.
he's waiting outside for you after those thirty minutes.

"Une heure après, quand elle fut rentrée dans sa chambre, elle pleura. C’était, nous l’avons dit, son premier amour." He continued reading trying his best to capture the mood of the book. He was lazily tracing the patterns of your scalp, soothing you.
"Elle s’était donnée à ce Tholomyès comme à un mari, et la pauvre fille avait un enfant." You were incredibly content with the state of things as they were. You could swear Vincent was stealing looks at your relaxed form but you were never quite sure because he never broke his focused demeanour.
Still stroking your head, he was appreaciating your presence. "Il y avait, dans le premier quart de ce siècle, à Montfermeil, près de Paris, une façon de gargote qui n’existe plus aujourd’hui." An idea popped into his head. "Oh combien il l’aimait, c’était comme si son cœur était sur le point de sauter de sa poitrine à tout moment..." he trailed off looking for a reaction from you.
You were trying to percieve the words that came from him, fairly certain they weren't part of the book he was reading. When you realised their meaning your face got hot. "Oh- Vincent...".
"Oui ma douceur?" He said playfully, brushing your hair out of your face. "Tu es la personne la plus magnifique que j’ai jamais connue, tu sais?"
You rose from your comfortable position and put your hand on his chest. "I don't think that's in the book Vincent." He put his hand over yours and asked. "Do you feel my heart my sweet?" You nodded bashfully. "You should know that it beats only for you."
Your cheeks were getting hotter by the minute. "I didn't take you for the poetic type." You jested. He feigned offence, putting his hand to his forehead which earned a laugh from you. "Ah, my love doubts my poetic nature. I shall never create sweet poetry with them again..."
"I never said that!" You chuckled and he grabbed your waist and situated you in his lap, giving you an opportunity to bury your face in the crook of his neck. You inhaled his sweet scent as he kept reading. "Cette gargote était tenue par des gens appelés Thénardier, mari et femme. Elle était située dans la ruelle du Boulanger."

After The Fall - Vincent Renzi x Reader
Tumblr media
Swann Arlaud in Anatomy of a Fall, similar plotline, son doesn't exist neither does Snoop (sadly).
Summary: After the trial of the death of your husband, you struggle to come to terms with this new life and the trauma of what has happened before. Vincent Renzi, however, becomes your comfort, staying beside you the whole time. A friends to lovers fanfiction
CW: Angst, fluff, obvious flirting, reader is depressed, grief, hurt and comfort, mentions of death, ex-husband was abusive - no mentions of it in this chapter.
Chapter one - Bathroom floor.
It had only been a few days since the trial had ended and you were freed from the question of murder. However, mentally, things had not seemed to get any brighter, your mind was in pieces, a sadness plagued your body day in and day out. And you had no one to call.
Except Vincent.
You know you could depend on him for anything, hell, he saved your life technically. You needed him, not only as a lawyer, but as a friend. So when you were sitting on the floor of your bathroom, in this awfully empty house, crying desperately from the weight of the last few weeks of your life, you decided to call him.
“Y/n? Are you alright?” Curiosity was clear in his voice. You realise you missed this voice.
“Vincent..Hi, uhm i'm sorry to call you but uh..” Tears were still heavy on your cheeks and you struggled to get the words out. Asking for help wasn't your forte.
“No, no its fine dont worry. Is there something wrong? You sound-”
“Upset? Yeah. I can't seem to stop. I should be happy now the trial is over.” You laugh. “But, i just cant seem to be that.”
“You've been through so much, Y/n.” His voice is soft and warming.
There was a silence on the line through a few seconds, sad but not uncomfortable. You didnt know what to say, it was always like that around him. You were weirdly nervous, probably just the long time of not seeing each other, right?
“Could you co-”
“Yeah, i'll be there soon.” He says before you can even finish the question.
*****************************
It was late afternoon when he got there, letting himself in, it was a familiar arrangement by now.
You watched as the door glides open and he peers down at you, sat with your knees to your chest, leaning against the bath wall.
“Hey.” You made a sad smile at him before he sat next to you automatically.
His head turned and his saddened gaze met yours. “Hey.”
Your eyes were already welling with tears again before you placed your head onto his shoulder, leaning into him. He shifted to make it more comfortable before wrapping his arm around you and placing his hand on your knee. You needed this hug so much, it had been so long since you felt the warmth of someone else near you like this.
It felt like you could truly cry forever, and you hoped that he would stay, through it all, holding you like this and you didnt know why.
“Ive lost everything. Everyone. I dont know what to do or where to start again. Im such a mess.” You muffle into his side. “Ive never felt like this before.”
He stares for a while, understanding and listening to your pain. He hated seeing you like this and he wish he could take it away in an instant.
“You havent lost me, okay? And you just need some time. Ease back into things. Dont force yourself Y/n.”
You nod before sitting back up and looking at him, smiling assuringly and sorrowfully. Then as if nothing, you felt the pad of his thumb grace against your cheek, softly wiping away the tears staining your face. This house didn't feel so empty anymore.

vincent renzi x reader
summary: vincent comes over to watch the eclipse and a secret gets out.
contains: fluffy fluff.
a/n: not me writing a fic about some random pathetic white middle-aged french man just cos of one movie what.
word count: 0.7k
Tumblr media
The snow falls softly upon your little impromptu bonfire. There’s going to be a solar eclipse tonight, so you thought you’d make a night of it. You fished two beer bottles out of the fridge and invited Vincent to join you. He’d been a good friend to you for years, though you couldn’t help but harbor a small crush on him; it was harmless, really. So maybe you felt butterflies’ wings flutter in your stomach when he smiled, felt your cheeks heat up at the slightest touch. Maybe you’d spent many late nights drunk on wine and on him, philosophizing about the most asinine of topics deep into the early morning. Tonight will be one of those nights.
“What a fine establishment!” Vincent chuckles, unintentionally startling you. “I’m sorry, did I scare you?” His feet fall silently upon the thick coat of snow beneath you, leaving a trail from the cabin up to the bonfire. He’s carrying a mug of hot chocolate in each hand (you quickly ran out of beer), the steam visibly wafting up into the winter air.
“Only a little.” you admit sheepishly. He smirks, and your heart melts in spite of the biting cold engulfing you. Vincent’s gentle gaze lingers a moment before finally turning toward the fire, which he bends down to throw another log on. His silver hair seems white from the snowflakes gathering atop it, something like an angel. You take a seat on a nearby log, sipping on your hot chocolate.
“Why so quiet tonight?” he asks as he sits at your side.
“I’m not being quiet.” you frown defensively.
“Non, pas du tout.” he tuts: No, not at all. “You’ve barely spoken since I arrived. Have I done something wrong?”
“No, Vincent.” you insist, try forcing a laugh and hope he doesn’t notice. “I promise you I’m fine.” You hadn’t noticed until he mentioned it but he’s right. Tonight feels different. Perhaps it’s because of the eclipse, perhaps it’s not. You’re not quite sure what to think and then you’re not even sure you recall how to think when Vincent begins absentmindedly tracing his fingers across your back; his own quiet way of comforting you. You watch as he lights up a cigarette and takes a drag, cheeks hollowing out with the inhale and smoke puffing out with the exhale.
“That’s gonna end up killing you one day, you know.” you sigh at him, shooting his cigarette a nasty look.
“Hopefully you’ll have told me what’s going on with you before that.” he retorts, a cynical brow arched as he takes another drag. “Come on, now.”
“Why are you pushing this?” you stand, suddenly defensive. Vincent stubs his cigarette, his undivided attention all for you.
“Because you’re my friend and I care for you.” he says as if it were a universal truth known across the globe and accepted as an irrefutable fact.
“That’s just the problem, Vincent!” you burst, tears threatening to brim in your eyes as you look down to where he sits by the fire. “I’m your friend! I’ll only ever be your friend!”
Vincent stands now, puzzled eyes now widening with realization. “What are you saying?”
“What do you think, Vincent?” you ask, the sarcasm practically dripping off your tongue. “I’m tired of being just a friend. I can’t take it anymore!”
“Don’t be ‘just my friend’.” he says, desperation catching in his throat. “Be something more.”
“What?” you stand as if frozen to the snow, stunned. “What do you mean?”
“I mean I’ve loved you since the day we met!” he admits, the sound of his voice like a tree falling in the woods. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hear you say it back.”
He strides his way towards you, his hand cupping your rosy cheek. “Je t’aime.” His lips press against yours softly, growing in intensity with each passing second. You pull away a moment, look into his sweet eyes and finally say it back to him. “I love you too, Vincent.” The kiss resumes, and your breath is taken away all over again. It’s as if the world has shifted, gone silent; you feel your sight go black. Vincent must feel it too, because he pulls away and looks around only to find that the world has indeed gone black.
“Vincent, the eclipse!” you squeal, pulling him close. “It’s so beautiful.”
You don’t really notice it, but when Vincent recounts the story you learn he was looking at you when he replied. “Oui, beautiful.”

it’s been a long day. an exhausting long day, in such an environment where everybody is required to be high-strung, deliberate, exacting on every action. everything was tense.
the decades vincent has on his plate never really made it more comfortable, if you were to dig through his psyche. it has simply rested on his shoulders, no amount of wine nor cigarettes can aid in chipping them away. his neck often stiff, shoulders tensed in all which he tries his best to alleviate by stretching, but it’s all temporal. moments in every hit of a cigarette, consequential in liquor.
you’re more than pleased to kiss and knead them away, though. it’s become a thing to look forward to, however late at night he finally comes home. like his job, your hands are methodical, pleased to dispel the invisible weight he carries on his muscles. your kisses on the back of his neck raise goosebumps on its wake, and vincent gets to breathe deeply and exhale relief as the pads of your fingertips soothe through their pressure.
he lays on top of you with his back on your chest, arms around his neck as his own hands hold them. you leave trails of kisses on his hair to his cheeks. he turns his body to now cage you beneath him, fingers combed in your hair and palm resting on your cheek, thumb caressing.
“mon amour,” face inches from yours as he looks through your eyes so soft, so lovingly sincere, “how could i ever give you my gratitude for loving me?”
you hold his face with both of your hands, “you existing with me is enough, my love.”
i finally got to watch anatomy of a fall hehe hes so

"How do you say?"
Tumblr media
Vincent Renzi x GN! Reader
Summary: Talking about you day as you cook dinner together.
Warnings: Established Relationship, Fluff, Cooking, Kissing, Vincent being babygirl
Tumblr media
Swaying with the music as a delicious aroma filled the room, arms wrapped around you as the food sizzled in the pan, earning a stir every so often.
Kisses prickled your neck that came with low hums of satisfaction, causing laughs to sound from you. "Easy, Vinnie," you warned, causing him to laugh. "Vinnie? Is that a-a, How do you say?" he questions against your shoulder.
Turning your head a little to see his questioned face, "Nickname?" you help, earning a smile hum and happily raised brows, laughing again. "Do you not like it?" you asked before turning back to the food. "No, no, it's..." he trails off.
"Cute." You finish his sentence, causing both of you to laugh once again, releasing you from his hold letting you finish up the dish. Giving it a few final stirs, hearing as plates rustle from behind you.
"Let me," he whispers next to you while resting his hand on your side, having him take over, turning to sway your way to the small table in your shared apartment. Setting out the glasses, pouring Vincent a bit of wine, and lastly, lighting the candles bringing a romantic mood to your dinner night.
Settling down into your seats eating away at the dinner, the music filling up the background as you talked about your day.
Lost in his eyes as he went on about a case, you noticed a small smear of sauce on his bottom lip that hadn't yet been wiped away. Unknowingly, your body moved, causing him to stop talking as you wiped it away with your thumb, snapping back as a smile formed on his lips.
"Sorry, you just had a little something," you said, whipping it onto your napkin, causing him to laugh. "No, it's fine," he reassured, looking back at him with your faces now closer feeling as he placed a hand on your thigh, sparking something familiar in you.
"How do you say it? When you want to-" He asks, but your patience wore thin, making your lips meet interrupting his words and thoughts. Feeling the familiar softness accompanied by a gentle hand cupping your cheek as your lips melted together.
Humming through the kiss, he tries to speak, but in turn, you speak your own. "Just shut up and take me already," you say between the kisses. Needing no more words to be said, he pulls you in, making the dinner seem so minuscule to the rest of the night.

Sweet treat
Vincent Renzi x reader
Word count: 1.8k
A/n: the dialogue is italicized because my French isn’t good enough (yet) to right proper dialogue.
Tumblr media
Moments like these were precious to Vincent. These quiet serene moments where the only sound was the chirping of birds and the soft, mellow music in the background that accompanied it. He liked to light a cigarette, lean into his chair as he sat on his small balcony, looking out to the sky and the street below him.
However what captured his attention more was the cute little baker from across from him.
Vincent noticed that she often started her day early, rushing into the store as if her pants were on fire, hair unkempt and a cigarette dangling from her lips as the long winter coat protected her from the harsh wind. Vincent often donned a smile seeing her. He saw himself in her. The way the hair was messy and the cigarette, she was just another version of him. One that he so desperately wanted to know.
He watched her now, eyes squinting slightly as the silver haired man waited for his mystery woman to arrive. She was late today but Vincent swore up and down that he wasn’t stalking her. No, he’d never do that. He’d just familiarized himself with her routine. It wasn’t much different from his own. Up at such ungodly hours doing lord knows what.
This time though, she felt him watching. The clearly disheveled woman could feel eyes on her a couple months ago yet she chose to ignore it. Until she caught a glimpse of possibly the most beautiful man she’d ever seen. The young woman let a small smile graced her lips as he looked up at him, eyes squinting from the sun that decided to peek out today. He wasn’t looking at her then, no. He was looking ahead, not even in her direction. Deciding that she was running late already, the woman headed into the shop, quite unaware of Vincent’s watchful eyes.
Days went by yet neither of them made any moves. (Y/n) watched him occasionally, admiring the way his silver hair fell over his forehead. He looked like a cat. A very beautiful cat. She wanted to know the man yet she couldn’t exactly match up to him and ask questions. Her nose crinkled at the thought of being so invasive. Vincent, ever the recluse, watched her from his balcony, a cigarette in his mouth. He wanted to introduce himself to her and get to know her, possibly at dinner but he didn’t. He couldn’t.
“Watching him again?” A voice, Helene’s voice, interrupted the young woman from her thoughts. She turned her head slightly to look at the older woman standing in front of her, a teasing smile on her face and arms crossed.
(Y/n) scoffed. “No, I’m just… admiring the weather.” Her voice held uncertainty. Helene laughed, the young woman couldn’t lie to save a life.
“Mhm, because the weather is stunning today.” It wasn’t. The weather was horrible, not a peak of sunshine. It was just strong wind and clouds looking like they’re about to bless the ground with snow.
“Yeah. I can’t wait for the inevitable snow storm we’ll have.” The younger woman replied sarcastically, throwing her hair over her shoulder. She’d done it nicely today, two braids on both sides.
Helene looked up at the man, his name still unknown to both of them.
“He is quite beautiful.” She sighed, taking in Vincent’s form and earning herself a jab in the rib from her coworker.
“Come. Stop being distracted, we have work to do.” (Y/n) tells her, pulling the older woman in by her arm, leaving Vincent unbeknownst to their conversation.
The older man retreated into his apartment, it wasn’t a very small one. It was nice, well, nice enough for him. Two bedrooms, one used as an office while the other one looked like it had barely been slept in. He rubbed his eyes, trying to drive away the tiredness that seeped through his bones and into his head. Vincent looked over to the pile of files he had to sort through, sighing, he went over to brew himself a nice, warm cup of coffee.
“Fuck.” Vincent muttered, seeing the sputtering of the old machine. He sighed, rubbing his forehead in agitation. He knew he should’ve replaced the damn machine months ago but he didn’t. And now he’s seeing the fruit of his labour. Maybe today was his lucky day. Maybe he’d get to talk to the cute owner of the coffee shop. The older man exhaled deeply, pulling on a black sweater, one of his nicer ones along with a black trench coat.
The weather didn’t seem to be letting up soon and he wasn’t fond of freezing.
Vincent made his way down the stairs of his apartment, walking across the street and towards the shop. He stopped for a minute, breathing deeply, he didn’t want to come across as a stalker and he sincerely hoped that the cute girl didn’t notice his obvious staring. He pulled the door open, walking into the shop, surprised to see it busy.
“Oh my god.” Helene whispered, her jaw dropping as she noticed the silver haired man walk in. She nudges the younger woman beside her.
“What?” (Y/n) asked her, not in the mood to listen to another one of Helene’s rants on the cute guy that just walked in. (Y/n) stood up from where she was crouching and turned to look in Helene’s line of direction, only for her jaw to drop as well. The man that she had been admiring for the past few weeks was even more beautiful up close. His hair fell so perfectly over his forehead and the sweater he wore just did something for him. Not that he wasn’t perfect already.
Vincent looked at her, eyes crinkling as a small smile donned his lips as he made his way up to the counter.
“Hello.” Vincent greeted her politely, hands stuffed into his coat pockets. God she was even more beautiful up close. Big doe eyes looking up at him from behind the counter making him forget why he was here in the first place.
“Oh hello! Welcome to Café of Curiosity! How can I help you today?” The young woman chirped happily, looking at Vincent. Well, she wasn’t really looking, she was admiring him. Vincent lost his train of thoughts for a small second. He wanted to hear her voice for the rest of his life.
“Café of Curiosity?” He asked.
“Mhm. It’s because there’s many coffee flavors that intrigue curiosity that we offer!” Helene chirps in and both of them turn to look at her. (Y/n) shooting her a sharp glare while the older man just looks at her and nods before turning his attention to the woman before him.
“Right then. I’ll just get a plain black coffee and a croissant, please.” Vincent tells the young woman in front of him, nodding at his choices.
“Going for the basics?” She asks, not looking up at him from the screen. Vincent hums in answer.
“Right… May I grab a name for the order?” She asks him kindly, offering him a sugary sweet smile.
“Oh I’m sorry! It’s Vincent.” (Y/n) laughed at his expression, a deer in headlights. Vincent felt warmth rush up to his neck and into his cheeks, no doubt looking like a beetroot. He’s sure he’s embarrassed himself and ruined all his chances while the woman opposite him thought that he was endearing and charming, in an awkward way. She nodded and gestured for him to wait by the other side of the counter.
“He’s cute, no?” Helene nudged the younger girl who only smiled. Helene knew though, she always knew. She looked up at the man, Vincent, who was looking at her co-worker and smiled.
“Well, I’m not handing him his order.” Helene exclaimed, moving to greet the person at the counter.
“What why?!” (Y/n) asked, eyebrows furrowed together and a small pout on her lips.
“Because, my dear, I doubt I’m the one he’s here to see.” Helene winked, pushing the younger girl forward gently. Vincent smiled awkwardly, fiddling with his phone, opening the photos app and settings, trying to look like he was doing something other than staring.
“Vincent!” She called out, capturing his attention. The said man looked up at her, smiling. He seemed to be doing a lot of that near her. He went up to the counter to grab his drink and croissant, hands briefly touching.
“Oh, thank you!” He responded, grabbing his coffee off the counter. The younger woman nodded her head in response. Having nothing else to say, he awkwardly turned around and left, cursing himself for not saying more. Inside the café, (Y/n) was doing the same, shaking her head in disapproval at her stupidity for not saying anything.
“You know, he’s still outside.” Helene pointed out, seeing the mop of silver waiting for the light to turn green. (Y/n) looked at her before smirking, she grabbed a tiramisu, tossing it in a box before running out.
“Vincent!” The young woman yelled out, waving her hand for him to pause, and he did. Vincent halted in his tracks, waiting for the woman to catch up.
“You forgot this.” She panted out, one hand holding the box out to him while the other was on her knee, trying to catch her breath.
“Oh… I didn’t order this.” He told her, trying to turn it down, thinking that she had mistaken him for someone else.
“Think of it as a treat! From me to you.” She told him, shoving the box in his hands and bolting before he had a chance to say anything else. The older man huffed out a small laugh at their interaction and made his way home, not thinking much of it. On his short walk home, he couldn’t get the sound of her voice out of his head.
Vincent Renzi was utterly enamoured by this siren of a woman.
He set the box down, opening it up only to see something that surprised him. Inside the box was the woman’s phone number and name.
“Call me… or not.” He whispered out loud, laughing a bit. He hadn’t even known her properly yet she was already weaseling her way into his heart. He saved the number in his phone, not quite ready to shoot her a text yet.
This had to be the best day possible for him. All because he forgot to replace his stupid coffee maker.
Deciding that the weather wasn’t going to change its mind anytime soon, Vincent decided to drink and work outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. Only to see that she was waiting for him, in the window of her café, waving at him shyly before signaling her hand into a phone. Vincent nodded, truly intending to know the woman more, hopefully over a nice dinner and a glass of wine. She smiled before turning on her heels and rushing back to the café.
Oh dear, he hadn’t even known her yet he was in so deep.

You weren't the jealous type, you knew you weren't. It never occured to you that you could love someone so passionately and be so possesive of them. When you were jealous though you felt like a hungry fox trying to steal away a chicken from the coop. That's what you were feeling now.
"Chéri?" He mused not quite paying attention to you. "I need to go to meet up with a client." He smiled when you put up an eyebrow questioningly. "What? I'm a full time lawyer, all hours of the day are office time." You chuckled lightly pecking him on the cheek and bidding him goodbye.
He came back around 11, quicker than you were expecting, a woman under his arm entering your house. You went out into the corridor looking confused at hearing a her voice. "Hello?" Vincent looked at you, his face contorting into something you couldn't quite name. "Oh sorry, didn't you get my message?"
You were sitting around the table in your kitchen. Sandra and Vincent chatting away while you were sitting with your arms crossed clearly uncomfortable with her presence. There's nothing to be jealous of, you thought. You were chalking up your envy to how beautiful Sandra was. How her ocean blue eyes complimented her dark blonde hair. How she moved so effortlessly through the room, how she gestured as if to impress but not overwhelm.
She existed purely to be adored and Vincent seemed to be adoring her too much. "And how about you?" Sandra asked with a smile on her face. "Hm?" You hummed, flustered as your own jealousy just overshadowed any connection you could've formed with her.
When Sandra left around midnight she hugged you. She hugged you real tight, a hug cementing the fact that she would be showing up more often in your life. You hugged her back not wanting to seem off.
When she got out of your space Vincent came up to you and hugged you from behind.
"Sorry for taking so long chéri. I know you don't like unexpected guests." You relaxed into his touch, putting your head on his shoulder and letting him kiss you on the neck. "Honey..." you started. "Sandra and you... you're not..." you trailed off.
He spun you around and looked at you concerned. "No. Absolutely not." He got closer to your face as if to amplify his point. "I wouldn't do this to you. Ever. Don't think that of me mon cœur." He kissed you as delicately as he could, bringing you closer to yourself.
"I love you." You said after you broke the kiss. Tears already welling up in your eyes. "Et je t'aime aussi." He said wiping them.

After The Fall - Vincent Renzi x Reader
Tumblr media
Note: You guys are going to like this one😋
Summary: After the trial of the death of your husband, you struggle to come to terms with this new life and the trauma of what has happened before. Vincent Renzi, however, becomes your comfort, staying beside you the whole time. A friends to lovers fanfiction
CW: Cigarettes, Angst, fluff, obvious flirting, reader is depressed, grief, hurt and comfort, mentions of death, ex-husband was abusive - no mentions of it in this chapter.
Chapter three - Snowstorm.
“Hey, Vincent.” You had been suprised by the call which came late afternoon.
“Hey, um, me and a few friends are going out for a few drinks and i was wondering if you wanted to join? You know trying to cheer you up and everything..”
“Oh no, I don’t want to intrude or anything like that- “ You immediately refuse.
“Listen, you wouldn’t be intruding Y/n, i’m literally inviting you to come with us.”
You sigh and hesitate.
“Come on, it will be fun.” He persuades over the phone.
“Okay, but just a few.” You finally agree.
*************
You’d just arrived outside the bar down town, it has taken you half an hour just to drive down and they were certainly a couple of drinks in by now. You were nervous, and it wasn’t his unknown friends that caused it. It was him. You were nervous to see him. It was the first time since the trial you had tried to make yourself look nice, finally styling your hair and clothes.
“Hey! Y/n!” Vincent shouts across the bar before running over and bringing you to greet his couple of friends.
“This is Nicolas and this is Camille.” He introduced before you greeted them kindly.
“I’ll go grab you a drink.” He says before strolling over to the bar. He was still in his work clothes, suit pants and a loosely unbuttoned shirt. You couldn’t help but admire him from afar.
“So, how do you know Vincent?” Nicolas questions from across the table.
“Oh, he was my lawyer actually, for a case not long ago.” You hoped they wouldn’t make you elaborate further.
“Ah, he is good isn’t he? He’s always been so dedicated to law and his job.” Camille says before continuing on. “We used to go to the same university, he was a good scholar. And a good man too.”
“A good man? Thank you very much guys!” He says placing your drink in front of you and sitting down.
“Yeah, yeah..” Nicolas mutters.
*************
It was a few hours in, and definitely late now. You looked out the window and noticed the heavy amount of snow falling to the ground. How were you meant to get back in this weather? Especially up near the mountains.
“Christ. The weather, you guys seeing this?” Camille says noticing it too. Vincent and Nicolas turned their heads to the window promptly.
“Shit. That’s heavy. Y/n, do you live close? I hope that’s not going to be a problem for you.” Nicolas asks.
“Ummmmm, no. I do not live close and that is an extremely big problem..” You hum before turning back to you drink and taking another swig. They all laugh.
“I mean, we’re staying at the Inn in town not far from here, there should be a room free if you can’t get back.” Camille explains.
“No, no. It’s fine you can stay with me. Save the money.” Vincent interjects, sipping his drink.
“Vincent, i couldn’t do that- I’ll just stay at the inn, it’s ok-“ You decline. You really didn’t want to intrude.
“Y/n. It’s fine. I have a pull out couch, it wouldn’t be a problem.” He assures.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course I am.”
*************
“Bye guys. Get back safe!” It was really late now and you were all very drunk, saying your goodbyes and setting off for home. You and Vincent begin to walk to his apartment, a few blocks from the bar. Still sipping on your last beers and sharing a cigarette.
“ I’m so glad i came tonight, that was the most i’ve laughed in a long time.” You say before inhaling the smoke and passing it over to Vincent.
“I’m glad you did too. They seem to really like you, my friends.”
“Yeah, hopefully.” You both laugh and take a swig of your beer.
He loved the way your drunk smile and the way your cheeks pinked up from the alcohol. He could watch you forever, admiring every crevice of your skin. You were beautiful.
***********
“It’s not much, but it’s home.” He states before you both walk in to his apartment. It was cozy and nicely decorated and you loved the homely atmosphere of it all.
“No Vincent, it’s lovely.” You compliment as you take your coat off and hang it next to the door.
“Do you want something to drink?” He asks from the kitchen.
“No, no, I don’t think i can handle anymore.” You giggle.
He laughs back before answering. “It doesn’t have to be alcohol, i’ve got tea or coffee. Water?”
“Water would be nice, thank you.” You say strolling over to him. He’d taken off his coat too and the weather has roughed up his hair. You watch as he grabs a glass and fills it for you drunkly. You couldn’t help but notice how good he looked like this. Work clothes, drunk and with messy hair.
“I’ll go get the bed ready, do you need any clothes to sleep in? I can give you a jumper or?”
“A jumper would be good, it’s still a little bit chilly from outside.” You laugh before he nods and goes into the smaller room nearby and comes up with a black knitted jumper.
“Thank you so much, for all of this. I feel like such an inconvenience.” You shrug, looking down at you feet and back to his eyes.
“It’s truly not a problem, i wouldn’t have offered if so. It’s the least i could do with the weather and all.” He smiles at you before going back to the room and you put on the jumper and follow over.
“Okay, this is you.”
“That’s not a couch bed Vincent, that’s your bed.”
“I know, i’m taking the couch.”
“Vincent, no. This is your house your not taking the couch-“
“You’re the guest here, have the bed. Please.”
You sigh before giving up and going into the room, he grabs a few things before leaving. “Goodnight, Y/n.”
“Goodnight Vincent.” You says before climbing into the made bed and turning off the light.

After The Fall - Vincent Renzi x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: After the trial of the death of your husband, you struggle to come to terms with this new life and the trauma of what has happened before. Vincent Renzi, however, becomes your comfort, staying beside you the whole time. A friends to lovers fanfiction
CW: Cigarettes, Angst, fluff, obvious flirting, reader is depressed, grief, hurt and comfort, ex-husband was abusive - no mentions of it in this chapter, Vincent wants you so bad.
Chapter Four - Hangover cure.
Vincent had already been up for a while, finishing up on paperwork and cleaning here and there. He was in the kitchen when you woke up and made your way into the room. He couldn’t help but smile, a girl as pretty as you, wearing his jumper with messy bed hair, in his apartment.
“Good morning.” You say rubbing your eyes.
“Morning, Coffee?” He offers.
“Yes, please. I need it.” You both laugh before he pours you a cup and passes it to you as you sit down.
“How long have you been up?” You ask curiously.
“About an hour or so, i’m not sure. I thought i’d let you sleep in for a while.”
“Thanks, i’ve not been sleeping well recently so, i really needed that.” You slept longer last night than you have these past few weeks.
“Of course.” He smiles, “The snow still looks pretty heavy, i’d wait a bit before driving up there, just to be safe.”
You look out the window to see a blanket of thick snow coating the outside streets, you were in the city and you knew it would be even worse further out.
“Yeah, i’ll give it a couple hours. Do you have anything planned? I can leave now and find somewhere to wait if you need.”
“Don’t worry, i had nothing planned. Other than being severely hungover all day.” He jokes.
“Yeah, mines really kicking in, is it really bright in here or is it just me?”
“No, i think it is…” You both laugh again.
***************
You’d spent the last hour talking over cups of coffee, joking about last night, Vincent land you both leaning in to each other unknowingly, occasionally tapping each other softly on the knee. You hadn’t talked like this in years but it came so naturally whist you were with him.
“Do you want to know the best hangover cure?” You asked.
“Yes, what is it?” He questioned.
“Soup.”
“Soup?”
“Mhm. I can make us some if you want.”
“I’d love that.” He says before you get up and start gathering ingredients. You throw your hair up quickly, a few pieces falling onto your face.
“Do you have any lemons?” You ask, looking over your shoulder to find him lost in his own gaze. He could watch you all day, you looked so natural in the way you moved around his kitchen. His kitchen.
“Vincent?” You laugh as he finally snaps out of it.
“Erm yes, yes i do. They’re in the bottom drawer.”
***************
“That was amazing. I’ve actually never felt better Y/n. Thank you.”
“My pleasure. I told you it’s the best.” You had just finished the soup, still sat in his warmly lit kitchen. You both sit in silence for a while, it was warm and comfortable.
“I better go, now the snow is mostly melted and all.”
“Yeah, i’ll walk you to your car.”
You get up and head over to the door, pulling on your coat and shoes and grabbing your bag before pulling it over your shoulder and heading out. You’d completely forgot you were wearing his jumper.
note: Sorry this chapter is so short😭 I promise next chapter will be a lot better😉
Also, i kind of want to start writing a Spencer Reid Ff 😄

Wherever you went it seemed that Vincent went there too. He seemed to be following you like a lost puppy, a lovesick expression painted on his face. You were chalking it up to you being in the honeymoon stage of your relationship but didn't expect for this state to turn into your everyday life.
Vincent entered the room you were in, wearing only the pyjama pants he bought as a pis aller to convince you he had some sense of style which didn't consist only of elaborately patterned shawls. He gave you a knowing smile. "Bonjour." He said in a low, sultry voice immediately breaking character and bursting into laughter.
You amused him by giggling and sat up on the bed you were previously laying on, extending your arms towards his presence. Vincent obliged and with a slight chuckle he got closer to you in a few strides pressing his bare chest to your face and embracing your head.
"Very comfortable..." you mused, a laugh threatening to escape your lips, words muffled by his tight hug. "Shhhh..." he shushed you and started stroking your hair. You relaxed into his touch putting your arms around his waist.
You stayed like this for a few moments more before the day had to start fully. After you let go Vincent crouched down to be on your lever and put his hand on your cheek gently caressing it with his thumb. Both your hands wandered towards his silver locks which looked especially alluring.
Tugging on them he released a content whine. "Careful." He mused as he got closer. Every time it was the same with him, he knew exactly how to sweep you off your feet without even trying. Vincent put both his hands on your cheeks and gave you the sweetest kiss imaginable, not wanting to overwhelm you in the morning.
When he turned to walk away you grabbed his hand and he turned around questioningly. "Chéri?" You stood up and got closer to him and put your hands around his neck, smiling, you ghosted your lips over his and immediately turned around walking away towards the kitchen.
His lips chased yours but never quite got to catch up to them. Vincent followed suit and entered the kitchen where you were just putting the kettle on.
"Ah you're cruel..." He feigned affront, putting his hand on his chest. Your back was against the kitchen counter and you chuckled at his theatricals. He went up to you and stole a kiss which you teased him with before, knocking the air out of you with the fervency of it.
Vincent pulled away clearly pleased with himself grinning wildly. Your face was hot from all the affection you recieved, clearly enjoying it. It was your turn to put your hands on his cheeks. Just as you were about to say something he chimed. "You're so pretty sunshine." Your cheeks got even hotter.
Sunshine. It was one of Vincent's favourite pet names for you because it made you the most flustered. Your blushes, stolen glaces, the way it made him feel transcended humanity's understanding of love. Goddess was a word that didn't do you justice.
You were more like an eldrich benevolent force which was the only thing he got out of bed for. You chuckled into the kiss. "Ah Vincent Renzi, the man you are..." you sighed contently.

Vincent was looking at you intently. You on the other hand was cosumed by a lovely conversation you were having with one of your work-colleagues. Vincent's arms were crossed and he was staring at the floor and at the guy interchangably.
His seemingly relaxed posture was only a ruse. He was trying his best not to grab you by the hand and walk you out of the building immediately. It wasn't office hours anymore so why did you decide on chating with a co-worker instead of getting home as quickly as possible? He knew he was enough for you, you've told him that numerous times.
He wasn't a jealous man he was just... possesive, he liked to call it that. "I'm gonna wait for you in the car." He said his voice laced with anxiety and envy. "Okay, I won't be long." You said back with a smile, not noticing his demeanour.
"Baby what's wrong?" You questioned when you became aware of his vice grip on the steering wheel. He got even more tense at your words, looking like a barn owl which feathers have been ruffled. "I just..." he was a covenantal man, he thought. He could talk this through and convince you to leave this stupid guy alone. He pulled over.
"Yes?" You reassured, urging him to speak further. "I get so... anxious when you speak to him like that. I get the feeling that I'm not... good enough and that you have so many better options..." he trailed off. You looked at him puzzled and put your hand on his cheek. He told himself he wouldn't cry if he ever had to have this talk with you but hi eyes were already welling up with tears.
"I'm sorry... I can't control my..." he paused. You nodded reassuringly. He sighed and wiped the tears off his face. Vincent put his face into the crook of your neck overwhelmed with emotions coursing through his neuronal route. "Please don't leave me." He said with a voice so small you weren't sure if you heard him right.
You asked him a few more questions when you got home to make sure he was comfortable around you and with your behaviour. "I'm so grateful to have you." Vincent said as you were doing the dishes together, washing up after dinner you prepared for him. You looked at him with nothing but pure adoration in your eyes.
He was truly all you wanted in life and more. _____✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿ … ✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿ … ✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿ … ✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿_____ masterlist

Chapter two- Dinner.
“No, I want to, Y/n. It’s the least i can do to cheer you up.” You and Vincent had finally gone downstairs at this point, it been a while since you stopped crying thanks to the comfort of his presence.
“Okay, fine. I’ll let you but you have to let me at least help.” He’d offered to cook for you, but you weren’t having it. Coming all this way and then cooking just for you? It seemed absurd.
But he did and he wants to.
You look across the kitchen with a challenging smirk and he smiles and begins to softly laugh. “Okay.”
*************************
“How is it looking on the pasta?”
“Not too long now, and you’re doing what exactly?” You stare in confusing as he begins to prepare a mixture of green leaves.
“The garnish.” He says, completely involved in what he’s doing. You loved his concentration face, it was like nothing could ever break his focus. You smile at him.
“Shit. Ah.” He mutters, suddenly holding his other hand, blood trickling down his skin.
“Oh shit! What happened? Are you alr-“
“I’m alright. Don’t worry.” He assures walking over to the sink calmly before running the water. “ The knife got me, they’re well sharpened.” He jokes.
“Yeah, Samuel liked to keep them.. um.” You didn’t finish the sentence, you didn’t want to. You walked over and began to pull up the sleeve of his jumper and move around any things left in the sink as if they were in his way. It wasn’t necessary but, you wanted to help him. You couldn’t help it.
“I’ll go grab the first- aid box, i’m sure they’ll be some band-aids in there somewhere.” You pass over an old cloth. “Keep the pressure on it, obviously.”
He watched as you left the room, a smile painted on his face. The cut didn’t even matter anymore, he couldn’t feel it. He could only focus on you.
“Here, i’ve got one.” You passed it to him quickly before turning back to the pans in the stove, making sure nothing was burning or boiling over.
He stares at the band-aid and then back to you. “Um, Y/n. Sorry, could you put it on. I can’t get it on properly.”
“Of course.” It felt like you were kids again, helping one another like this. You could both feel the closeness, glancing back and forth at each other’s faces innocently. You could sense his gaze on you even when you focused on his hand and the band-aid. It made you nervous. But you didn’t want him to stop.
He could feel the soft touch of your hands on his, the warmth of your fingers carefully placing the Bandaid over the injury. It was like this short moment, was an hour long and he wanted to bask in it for as long as he could.
****************
“I think the garnish was worth it.” He jokes, you were both laughing by this point. Food was finished and it was late. You knew he would have to go soon.
“Thank you, Vincent.” You look into his eyes, he stares back into yours. There was something so special about the way he looked at you.
“Of course, Y/n. It wasn’t a problem.” He states, still holding the eye contact. “I better get going. I don’t want to over stay my welcome.”
“Don’t be silly, you’re always welcome.” You assure. You really meant it.
