The situation at Al-Shifa Hospital complex continues deteriorating drastically. Multiple sources report that dozens of displaced people, patients, and medical staff have been murdered by the occupation, and hundreds have been kidnapped. People are being strip-searched, interrogated, violated, forced to stand naked in the cold, and some are then kidnapped and taken to an unknown location. Others are forced to evacuate, many still at least partly naked. Some are allowed back inside the cramped buildings.

There are still hundreds or even thousands of patients, displaced people, and medical staff trapped in Al-Shifa. They have been herded into buildings and are shot by snipers if they move. There are fires throughout the complex, indicated by massive pillars of smoke that are filling buildings and making it difficult for people to breathe.

In addition to attacking the hospital complex, the IOF have attacked neighborhood homes by bombing, shelling, and shooting into them. Dozens of injured people have made calls to the Red Crescent emergency service in desperate need of rescue, but the occupation refuses to allow any medical or humanitarian entity (Palestinian or international) into the area. Local resident Emmy Shaheen and her family are under attack in their apartment building by the IOF right now, and her brother has been injured. Some reports say the Special Surgery Building, housing the most advanced medical equipment in the Gaza Strip, has been demolished with people still inside. Groups like the Red Crescent are begging the occupation to allow them in to treat the wounded, but the occupation refuses.

oh yeah no i haven't really talked about those Important Things yet! mostly because i'm still solidifying how they work in my mind... i try my best to adhere to canon, since to me aus are an exploration of the source / characters, so... its still tenuous. i have to think and consider and run parallel - there's a balance i'm still trying to find

like The Pit™️ (the spiral/eye void under Home) in Lights Out is gonna be different from the canon one since i started thinking about the au before the update. and the update changed my perception / theories on what the void is! but the au Pit™️ needs to remain mostly the way it originally was, or a lot of "plot" points fall apart

I feel like the interpretation that Felix doesn’t actually hold any resentment towards Adrien is a tad flawed when you look at how far he went out of his way to torment him in his introductory episode. But ofc that can just be chocked down to the writers not knowing what to do with him yet.

I see your point, but I would argue that:

Yeah, the writers most likely weren’t fully set on what they wanted to do with the cousins in the intro episode

Felix’s entire thing is that he will push anyone and everyone under the bus, including and especially Adrien, if it allows him to protect the both of them in the long run (to be clear this is not a good or nice thing to do, but it’s how his brain was wired in order for him to survive)

Abuse is a lot more complicated than that

I’m sure Felix’s feelings towards Adrien aren’t all sunshine and rainbows, but his breakdown in Emotion gives us a wonderful (and tragic) window into his soul, and the lessons we can get from it are:

Being with his cousin makes him feel safe, free and happy

He never wanted to hurt Adrien, even if he most definitely absolutely undeniably did

I’m not sure there is an equivalent in English, but in French, we have this expression:

"L’Enfer est pavé de bonnes intentions"

Which translates to "[The road to] Hell is paved with good intentions", aka "you can have the best motivations ever and still fuck up terribly because the steps you take to get there fucking suck my dude", and that’s it. That’s Felix. That’s the boy 100,000%, and it makes him a much more compelling character than if he actually held resentment and/or jealousy towards his cousin.

(Also, I don’t go there, but — the cheese incident in particular? I’ve heard so many people tell stories of doing similar things to their siblings who they apparently genuinely get along with. I don’t know guys, kids are weird sometimes.)

Agamemnon is explicitly stated to be hot/muscular. It's in the source material. Books 2 and 3 in particular. I highly doubt being compared to the Gods meant being "chubby" or super old. The ancient text obviously wouldn't say "ripped" because that wasn't in their vocabulary. But they refer to him as everything else that such a body would imply.

And Achilles was saying things in anger in Book 1. Everyone forgets how in Book 23, Achilles pretty much retracts everything he said and claims Agamemnon is the best natural warrior which he was.

i saw the phrase 'wine sack' and interpreted it my way and you saw it and interpreted it differently. but books 2 and 3 certainly don't back either of us up more definitively.

and in regards to his age. same thing. you can't say i'm wrong and i can't say you're wrong. but i've explained my reasonings for aga's age using sources HERE

2014,,,two thousand and fourteen….

Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa and Scuderia Ferrari has just come out of a pretty hellish season-end, totally dominated by an unhinged blond german speaking red bull golden boy (am I ringing any bells?) their fourth successive failed title challenge despite the spaniard finishing 2nd, by less than 5 points, on 2 of those occasions.

So. 2014. Ferrari retain Fernando and drop Felipe, bringing their most recent WDC Kimi Raikkonen back into the famiglia. I do believe the re-signing of Kimi was a statement by the team and one which upset Fernando greatly, considering he was clear number one driver to Felipe at the time. like the pressure was turning up on nando

Now. on top of that, 2014 was the beginning of a huge sea change in f1, the mercedes domination turbo hybrid era, which introduced the V6 hybrid power units and lower-downforce aerodynamic regs.

so lights out and away we etc etc.

Kimi has an absolute stinker. Like its bad bestie. Across the 2014 season, Fernando outscored Kimi 161 points to 55. and YES, those numbers are tickling my brain too.

This led many upset kimi truthers to do what all good sleuths do. follow the money! and their nose for investigation sniffed them all the way to Santander’s door. the SPANISH (helloooo???!!!???) sponsor of the scuderia. case open and shut. SABOTAGE! clear as day.

((we pay no mind here to the fact that Kimi was adapting to a new team and new regulations, had previously been outscored at Ferrari by Felipe Massa in 2008, that his previous teammate and reference was grosjean, that the 2015 car was far superior to the F14-T, the bank was still a ferrari sponsor or that Kimi went on to be out scored by his next teammate, ze german, 278 points to Kimi’s 150, the following year also and all other consecutive years until 2019)) no matter. we’re wise to them now and if they EVER try that shit again-ANYWAY.

Despite all the background drama, the two drivers maintained a healthy respect for each other but with Fernando fed up of Ferrari and already planing his next move (and pining for Felipe 💔) and Kimi retrospectively… highly likely in the know re: the ink drying on zebastian fettel’s ferrari contract (that damn chatterbox). probably didn’t invest a lot of time into their teammate dynamic but will live forever in my brain as girlbestfriends who slayed those cavallino embalm blazers and, in Kimi’s own words had an “odd” chemistry. <3

ooo okay okay i have been thinking about this for a whole day and i have Thoughts. they may not be super coherent but pls bear with me.

ok so i think the scene in pennhurst is probably the best example of their relationship. robin's outburst + nancy's surprise at it. even just in a platonic way, not necessarily romantic, robin picks nancy's side. she doesn't crumble. she knows from the get go that nancy is right. and even if she doesn't fully believe it, robin knows what it's like to not be listened to just because they’re women. jonathan did not. (i am not going to get into the jancy argument of s3 becausee they were both right, just in different ways. i'm Not getting into that rn)

i think for nancy, not only does she have a friend again, but it's a friend she can have a genuine connection with? they both have shared trauma, so nancy doesn't have to hide anything from robin. and a friend that believes her. which i think is even more important. nancy is so, so used to not being believed, and here comes robin, who, even though she wasn't 100% sure about nancy's shot in the dark, still believed her enough to trust her hunch in the first place. to have even an ounce of trust in her theories, to not be mockingly called "Nancy Drew," to have someone believe her. i think having that person to say "no, actually, you were right, and you've been right. no, this asshole is not going to undermine you, screw. that." is so incredibly important to nancy. that "we ask forgiveness, not permission," attitude. (robin says that in the rebel robin podcast. it's canon to me.)

i think ultimately, robin is a step in the right direction for nancy healing over the loss of barb. she's letting herself become friends with someone again, she doesn't have to close herself off from friendships anymore. and no, robin can't shoot a gun, but we know she can take care of herself. she's not completely defenseless. but robin is that key, that first step in the right direction, to heal from barb.

and even in case of (hopeful) s5 predictions and whatnot, i think robin is a completely new perspective for nancy in general, and will continue to be. robin is someone who exists outside the boxes that most people fit into, the ones that nancy is actively trying to avoid. i do hope we get a robin coming out to nancy scene in s5, just as a bridge of trust between the two, ya know? (this is just wishful thinking for me, but i also personally would love to see robin come out to nancy and then force nancy to reflect on her own self, too, ya know?)

ultimately i think it's about robin and nancy being/bringing a balance to one another. they balance each other out in a way that neither of them have probably had for a while. AND i think that's what's made them so entertaining as a dynamic, they aren't one thing or the other, they're both way too complicated for that. instead, they bring a balance to each other that either one has likely not had for a long time.
