Enstars sure is an experience. Did I miss anything?

After witnessing with my own eyes that is shirtless squid buddy, I realized something. Squid buddy is a godsdamned silly goose trying to be too cool for school.

I just....I would reaaallly like to know the emperor's thought process for how they concluded that sitting next to your sleeping crush shirtless is a viable strategy for starting a conversation

NO REALLY- WHY IS THERE NO 'WHY ARE YOU SHIRTLESS' DIALOGUE CHOICE. WHY??????? The entire time the Emperor, with their squid tiddies out on full display, was casually talking, that question was the only thought running through my head. GIVE ME THE DIALOGUE OPTION, GAME, GIVE ME.

Such a silly moment. In conclusion. I had to make it more silly.

OKAY BUT ALSO, BEFORE ANYONE TAKES HUNGRY SQUID TOO SERIOUSLY. There's a book in the game. talks about tadpoles smelling like garlic after eating brains. and. Emps. smelled like garlic. so. and if you knock out the guards instead of kill, they disappear, SO. And Orpheus' brain is edible in here SO. so. why not a lil. why not a lil snackaroos. It was a funny thought to implement.

If we find some other way for War Games to kick off (or just...not have that arc, idk), I think my ideal end for the Robin!Steph arc would be for her, not to fuck up and get fired, but decide, on her own, that she prefers being Spoiler.

What she wanted was training, respect, and (ugh, DC, why?) to get back at Tim for the misconception that he cheated on her. The first two don't require being Robin (Bruce gave her a smidge during the Brentwood arc) and the third can be resolved through communication, or if we really want some interesting character growth, Steph confronting her own vindictiveness, wrestling with whether she cares more about Getting Revenge or Helping People.

Actually, that could tie back into her intro and subsequent early appearances pretty well? She became Spoiler to get back at her dad, but later shows up solving crimes in the suburbs pointing out that the Bats tend to focus on the main island city. She also wants to impress her crush, but moves away from that impetus over time. So deciding, "I built Spoiler into something more than revenge, and I want to keep building Spoiler, not get mired back in revenge as Robin," would be some growth.

So yeah, wrap up with Robin!Steph arc by her showing up at the Batcave in her Spoiler suit, mirroring how she first showed up in her handmade Robin suit, and tell Bruce she wants to split time patrolling the suburbs like she used to, and patrolling the city with him for more training. That being Robin was an honor, but she's Spoiler, and she's proud to be Spoiler.

This could be a kick in the pants for Bruce; by reclaiming Spoiler and laying down new terms of partnership, letting go of her grudge against Tim, she's acting more mature than Bruce (who it's implied made her Robin in an attempt to lure Tim back). Maybe this sparks him to reassess how he's handling the Jack situation and Tim's absence, reaching out in their civilian lives or otherwise doing something direct to maintain that important relationship.

#or Bruce has a negative character arc and perceives this as a huge rejection #and somehow this leads to him kicking off War Games #maybe he fails to reach out to Tim and with Steph stepping back goes into an Everyone Leaves Me #I Must Continue The Mission Alone spiral #we could help that spiral along by having Cass out of town because she's teamed up with more people #and of course Dick is busy with Nightwing things #but Bruce could have a positive character growth arc optimism is possible #anything is possible in comics #fic ideas #or canon rewrite ideas #adaptation ideas etc #Stephanie Brown #DC #Batfam #Spoiler #Robin #Robin Steph Arc

Affogato launches August 17

Reverse tower defense RPG Affogato will launch for PC via Steam on August 17, publisher Spiral Up Games and developer Befun Studio announced. It will be priced at $16.99, with a 15 percent discount available for the first week of release.

Affogato promises at least 10 hours of gameplay and features 30 uniquely designed “reverse tower defense” battle stages in which you will utilize a varied collection of Witch Cards, alongside “engaging” storylines that involve honing your barista skills.

“We are thrilled to finally announce the official release date of Affogato,” Spiral Up Games CEO Aldric Chang said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see our player community dive into a unique blend of magical storylines, the trials of cafe management, and the innovative twist of strategic reverse tower defense battles. We look forward to seeing the reception by RPG, strategy and anime enthusiasts worldwide.”

They stay like that, both just sort of frozen, like there is no point to them now that they’re not worrying, not fumbling, and only waiting. Waiting to move again. Waiting for colour. Waiting for Blue. 

And Eddie wonders if there ever was a wanderer looking out at the sea of fog, and if he, too, was frozen like Buckley. If he started to shake, too, cast in that unreal kind of hue. If he knew how liminal he’d be until the end of time. 

If Robin would be, too. If she’d wait for him until all she’d be is liminal, cast in the light of the morning that Steve claimed makes her sad. If she’d be aware of the tragedy she’s painted for herself. 

If she already is. Or if the real tragedy is out there with his uncle, and they are just the ones who get to tell the story. Like Horatio, in the end. 

Again, he wants to ask, wants to say something, his mind running away from him with all the stupid similes and images he’s painting, wringing his hands as he can’t stop them from spiralling, can’t stop watching his whole world shift and change while all he can do is wait.
