It's high into the morning, and a warmer one than anticipated. Jeremiah wipes a bit of sweat from his brow as he attends to customers. He hated farmer's markets, mostly for the excessive human interaction. Not because he was anti-social, but any amount of excessive human interaction was...dangerous.

It was, however, great for business. So, he returned every year, in hopes that his little Philo flower shop would be quietly forgotten throughout the year. For the most part, and his lack of advertising, it worked.

Today though, he's busy, talkative, and distracted. His head bobs up every so often to catch a glimpse of a certain face that he may have ordered some extra snapdragons for. Or, too many at that. Way too many. Every time he glances up and doesn't catch anyone different meandering through the closed off Linkon City street, he laughs at himself.

Yeah, right, Jer.

How strange.... It was very rare to see a dragon.... Especially, a baby dragon so far out and in the middle of the ocean however regardless, Crimson Coral was cautious as she didn't know what the dragon's motive were.

The last thing she wanted was trouble for the kingdom, considering what happened in the past... Thus, the protector merely watched for now; keeping her head slightly above the water, so she could watch the dragon and see what they were up to.

All they wanted to do was just mess around in the forest, maybe have a normal adventure for once.

However, it seems the Titan had other plans as Terra decided to send more vines towards the shield that both Atalanta and Mattholomule made.

“Okay, I don’t know how long it’s going to last!” Mattholomule shouted once he noticed the cracks already beginning to form.

The group began to quickly scatter in an attempt to dodge the oncoming attack, though each of them were hit in some way.

If they were better prepared for this, the group of teenagers would’ve been able to better handle the entire situation, however they clearly were not prepared as they would like to admit, Luz didn’t even have her glyphs, having to resort to trying to stomp on the growing vines before they tangled her up.

Amity tried her best to summon an abomination as Willow used the plants surrounding them to try and protect her friends.

Though, they would soon be wrapped up tightly.

Boscha tried to climb a tree to break the vines and get the high ground as Mattholomule became wrapped, only for the branches to contort horribly around Boscha’s wrists.

Now, all that was left was Luz, Gus, Atalanta, and Hunter.

Gus prepared to cast an illusion using the mirror as Atalanta took the moment to break Willow and Amity’s vines before they became ensnared.

Hunter tried to teleport, hoping to hit Terra on the back of the head, or at least do something before he got trapped.

“Let my friends go!” Willow yelled out as she began to wrap herself in vines, her eyes growing a nice emerald hue which Terra’s eyes widen with astonishment.

“Fascinating, though I’m running out of patience.” With that, Terra made a giant spell circle, forming a giant flower that captured the last of the children.

Boscha tried to kick the tree she was trapped by as Terra moved her head around to examine each member of the group.

“Now, I’m sure you kids could be useful to me.” Terra moved to make another branch wrap around Boscha’s ankle as Willow growled, trying to break free.

Terra just tightened the flower as she walked over to Hunter and Atalanta, smirking a bit as her eyes held a malicious tint to them.

“You know, I do believe I remember your uncle being in this position,” with that, Terra grabbed a small bottle, showing a familiar pinkish liquid.

Thankfully, before any harm could be done, the liquid was shot out of Terra’s hands as Steve held his palisman, a small ferret named Alder as The Collector, affectionately named Sagittarius, stood close by just in case anything else happened.

Terra’s face quickly morphed into anger as shot vines laced with thorns at the two, only for the plants to stop suddenly as Sagittarius began to walk close.

With each step, the sky changed from the bright and sunny afternoon to the cool dusk of night with the state of the sky switching more rapidly as the star child got even closer.

The kids' eyes widened as they tried to once again wiggle out of the restraints, with a couple of them managing to break free slightly (with Steve’s help).

“Stay away from my family.” Sagittarius stated once he got close enough to Terra, flinging her back with a small ‘boop’ before turning around to face the shocked teens.

“Alright, is anyone hurt?” Steve asked while Boscha pointed at Sagittarius with a shocked look.

“How was that even possible!” It wasn’t exactly a question as Luz took the moment to approach Boscha, trying to calm her down.

“I don’t think anyone got too badly hurt.” Gus stated as he rubbed his wrist.

“It might be best to stop by the Owl House and let Ms. Clawthorne know about…this.” No one argued with Amity’s words as Steve and the Collector helped the group up, preparing to start walking.

synopsis: Favorite flowers of all six Stardew bachelors! No farmer mentioned, headcanons. SFW.

A.N.: shoutout to @jellyaris for inspo on the Shane section! Hope everyone enjoys these little snippety snippets...Suuure, some of these headcanons kind of diverge from canon (yeah, yeah. Alex is neutral to dandelions ingame. Sue me, LOL.) But who cares, it's Tumblr! Might make a bachelorettes' version too.

Alex

He's a simple man with simple tastes. DANDELIONS suit him well! He has fond memories of picking dandelions with his mother and blowing the seeds away, and even vaguely remembers how to make flower chains out of them. Of course, he could never get them as neat as hers, but Granny Evelyn still asks for his help when making crowns for the Flower Dance. Apart of him wonders why they have to use nicer-looking flowers for the formal crowns when dandelions work just fine. They're sturdy yet flexible- not nearly as fragile as the more 'beautiful' flowers, and as an athlete, he can admire that about them.

On a deeper level, there are many similarities to be found between Alex and his favorite flower. First impressions can be deceiving- just like most people think of dandelions as pests, Alex can come on a bit strong and even arrogant. But looking beneath the surface, they both share the same physical and mental will to push forward and survive in even the most difficult circumstances. They both go through drastic changes as well. Just as the bright and spiky bloom of a dandelion becomes softer and more delicate, Alex's spirit softens too. His own changes, though, won't float away on the wind anytime soon :P

Elliott

As obvious as it would be to say red roses, SNAPDRAGONS would be his favorites instead! As much as he is a romantic, he's just as much a daydreamer, and snapdragons would provide his imagination with ample opportunity to run wild, both with their fantastical name and lush, delicate appearance. They remind him of adventures in far-off lands, harkening reveries of ancient castles filled with wondrous secrets and the brave heroes set out to uncover them. He's a homebody at heart, but nothing is stopping him from holing up in his cabin and writing about any of it! (Or, well, fantasizing about writing about it, in most cases. <3)

But just as established, he's a romantic. Elliott is definitely well-versed in the language of flowers, and the meaning behind snapdragons in particular hardly eludes him. They symbolize grace, earnestness and strength under pressure, but are also known to represent something less than well-intentioned. Emulating the former qualities is something Elliott has done effortlessly, but in a way, the last one entices him the most. To create something beautiful, strong and mysterious; something that draws one in and sparks love and fear and longing for an endless more- isn't that what every writer wants? What every writer dreams of?

Harvey

A little like Elliott in this regard, Harvey is the sentimental type. FORGET-ME-NOTS hold a special place in his heart. It's a simple flower in appearance with an almost childlike name, but he likes them just the same. Maybe it's because of those traits that he does- they remind him of the carefree days he's missed out on, since moving to the valley. On top of his doctoral duties, he's a very lonely person overall. Forget-Me-Nots, with their hopeful pale blue, almost cheer him up to see on days where he feels less like a member of the community and more like a robot with a stethoscope and scrubs.

It's also their name that connects with him in a way...Forget-Me-Not. On top of the way they look, they cheer him up with that name. On the rare instance that the flower comes up in conversation, he jokes that the person who named it must've had terrible memory, as cheesy as it sounds. But all jokes aside, it's comforting to him that a flower otherwise unremarkable would have a name that insists to the listening ear that it shouldn't be forgotten. Almost inspiring, even. It makes him feel as if one day, he won't be another face-in-the-crowd. Somebody important, though to whom in particular...? Well, time will tell!

Sam

For Sam, it's DAISIES all the way! He constantly flip-flops between spring and summer as his favorite seasons, but daisies give him the best of both worlds. Seeing them dotting the fields in the warmer months always brings a smile to his face. Whether or not he's close with him, Sam definitely got Alex to teach him how to make flower chains one late spring...Of course, Alex may or may not have been mildly jealous of how easily Sam picked up on the skill, but when spending time together outside, Sam's restless hands sometimes find themselves picking daisies from the grass while Abigail and Sebastian chat and bicker and making the both of them bracelets!

When he still lived in the city with his mother, father and a much younger Vincent, he'd sometimes see them poking out of cracks in the sidewalk. While they weren't as common as dandelions, they still always caught his attention. While Jodi chatted aimlessly with her fellow PTA moms outside one of the countless Zuzu City JojaMarts, he'd busy himself, plucking daisies and dandelions from whatever nooks and crannies he could find and playing with them however he wanted. Back then, he didn't think much of it, but he looks at those times with almost a fond nostalgia. Things changed, but that doesn't mean it all has to be sad, right?

Sebastian

He doesn't think about this sort of thing very often, being the lovable terminally-online dork that he is. But if you ask, Sebastian's favorite flower would have to be BLACK TULIPS. It's not a very deep answer, really. Sure, tulips are more of a spring flower, but he finds the pitch purple color to be one of the more interesting colors that plants can have. They stick out among the cheerier colors that most other breeds of tulips display- the goths of their genus, if you will, and that's small part of why he likes them!

He entertained the idea of gardening, at one point, even prior to the farmer's arrival. Though he plans to move out eventually, he thought it would be a good way to get outside and get some exercise, though it wasn't ever really anything he thought to commit to. Though, he does chat with Evelyn on occasion- their shared affinity for tulips and his occasional fantasy of maintaining a small garden has ended up providing a lot more conversation than he's used to, or even expected! Even if most people see him as an asocial shut-in, it's comforting for him to recognize his softer side.

Shane

Look at him. All gruff and mean. His favorite flower is probably a thistle of some sort, or something poisonous. All things considered, his favorite flowers are FAIRY ROSES. Don't give him that look- it's just because Jas likes them so much! Seeing the way she lights up when she sees them is contagious for this gold-hearted curmudgeon. She'd spent two entire weeks planning out a one-woman recital for him and Marnie once, and when he handed her a little JojaMart bouquet of them afterwards...Well, the look on her face made the price tag worth it. Although, her excited squeal did leave his ears ringing for the rest of the evening.

The flowers are native to the valley, too...Sometimes, he feels as if he doesn't belong. Why would he? It's not as if he was born there or has any particularly close friends. If Pelican Town was a garden, he'd just be a weed. But Jas seems to have taken like a duck to water, although she's still shy as ever. Shane can be self-defeating and pessimistic at times, but he's not made of stone. He's grateful that she's in a place where she can flourish, just like the fairy roses she adores so much.

Instead of Luz stumbling upon The Boiling Isles, she ends up in Vivziepop's version of Hell.

Eda Clawthorne

Age: 17.

Species: Owl Demon.

Died: 1990s.

Cause of Death: Poisoned.

Sins: Gluttony.

Story: Eda was the most rebellious, yet troublesome teenager in all of Oregon from random pranks to Arson, though despite her delinquency she was a child prodigy getting A+ in all of her classes, but sadly all of that ended when she died during a soccer match due to cyanide poisoning. *cough* Lilith.

Lilith Clawthorne

Age: 18.

Species: Raven Demon.

Died: 1990s

Cause of Death: Suicide.

Sins: Envy.

Story: Lilith is the oldest sister of Eda Clawthorne who was always trying to get attention or praise from her peers and parents, but yet she never did due to her younger sister being "better than her" and so one day she slipped poison into Eda's water bottle and instantly regretted after Eda told her that she was the best sister in the world. After Eda's death, Lilith had suffered a great ammount of guilt and despair to the point where she ended her own life.

Philip "Belos" Whitebane

Age: 50.

Species: Deer Demon.

Died: 1600s.

Cause of Death: Hanged.

Sins: Pride.

Story: Belos, one of the most powerful and fearful overlord hell has ever witnessed. In his life he was known as a Witch Hunter General during the witch trials similar to Salem, but what the pilgrims didn't know, until later on, that he was actually an Occultist and was later hanged for his crimes.

Raine Whispers.

Age: 17.

Species: Bat Demon.

Died: 1967.

Cause of Death: Shot during Flower Power.

Sins: Hersey *Witchcraft*.

Story: Raine was born and raised by pagans in a commune so throughout their whole life they were homeschooled by their parents, learning herbology along with other pagan traditions. During their high school years they would participate in protests and the last one they attended was Flower Power".

•King is a Hellhound, Eda and Raine found him in a cardboard box in an alley when he was only a pup and they both decided upon themselves to take him ate their place and raise him. Basically the same way in "Echoes of the Past" but different.

•Perry Porter, Gus's dad, is still a field reporter in this and he works for 666 News. Though the only work associate he has is Tom, because Katie Killjoy is a total bitch to him due to being an Imp.

•In this AU Amity and Willow are still friends, but after confronting her bitch of a mother Amity decided to runaway to the Pride Ring with Willow, also Gilbert and Harvey fostered Amity.

•All the palisman in this AU are Hell-Fauna, which are Demonic versions of animals.

•The Collector in this AU is renamed Collie Morningstar and they are the youngest child of Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar along with the baby sibling of Charlie Morningstar and the archivists who are also in this AU as the children of Morningstar, but unlike the archivists Charlie is the only sibling that cares for Collie. *Also since the archivists didn't have any names in "Fort the Future" or "Watching and Dreaming" so the names I gave them are Salem, Basil, Aaren, Draco.

•The Nine Coven Leaders in this AU are Overlords.

•When humans, like Luz, are stuck in Hell for long periods of time that they begin to turn into a demon.

•After Lilith died she bumped into Eda and tried to apologize for what she did to her which of course didn't end well. For about several years Lilith has been jumping from job to job until she met Flora D'splora, also a Sinner, who hired Lilith as her assistant at the Museum of History of Demonic.

•Hunter is one of the many Imps Belos took in (for bad reasons of course, Because it's belos after all).

•Originally Willow and her dad's were from the Wrath Ring, then they moved to Greed due to Harvey having a job at Blight Industries which lasted for a little while until Odalia fired him after due to Amity not cutting ties with Willow which made them move to Pride.

•This AU mostly takes place in the Pride Ring, within a town called Malum which is just outside of Pentagram City just a few minutes away.

•Belo's true demonic form would be his kaiju form from "Watching and Dreaming" and his normal form would be a mix between his regular emperor self and his cursed self.

•Eda has trouble controlling her true demonic form every now and then just like how she had trouble controlling her curse in canon. Her true demonic form is the same as her Owl Beast form.

•Hooty is still hooty. (🦉 Hooty Hoot 🦉)

•Hexisde is also in this AU, but it's renamed "Hexside School District." Which is surprisingly one of the best schools in hell for Hellborns, better than Glandus and St Epidermis.

•Even though there's no coven system, each character has their own set of different demonic abilities and powers.

•Luz's Demon form is that same as her titan form, but instead of her witch outfit she's in her default clothes which are a bit torn due to her transformation.

•Eda and Raine own a store called "The Owl Nest" that sells trinkets, crystals, charms, herbs *including cannabis*, and other types of goods.

While on a bad blind date at a coffee shop, bookshop owner Aziraphale meets a gorgeous red-haired barista. Also Aziraphale knows flower language and he's not afraid to use it.

So now Aziraphale was going on a date with someone Tracy knew. Since Tracy had arranged it, Aziraphale let her pick the place as well: Double Double, a new coffee shop. Tracy had promised that the shop was lovely and had a selection of rich desserts, which was honestly the part that had convinced Aziraphale.

Aziraphale’s one bit of defiance was the flowers. He had a book or two in his shop on flower language, and he’d decided that the bouquet was going to be the sweetener for the day (besides the dessert), the spoonful of sugar that helped the medicine go down.

Yellow carnations: Disdain, disappointment, rejection. Red snapdragon: Deception. Purple columbine: foolishness. White candytuft: indifference. And finally butterfly weed, a bright little orange cluster flower, which meant Let me go!

Armed with his passive-aggressive (but quite lovely smelling) bouquet, Aziraphale took a cab to Double Double.

I am content with the acceptance that Depths of Promises Sworn is at least as good as Ruinous Hearts in my mind.

When I read the latest chapters, I feel trans enough.

When I write Snapdragon's PoV, I feel like enough of a lesbian.

Ayre has so much more to say than Verse. If nothing else, that is the metric I am choosing to compare the stories by for where Ayre's story is by comparison.

It is a shame that Ayre is going to go by the name of a corpse for so much longer than Verse ever could.

But Ayre wants more. Ayre can let themselves see it. They've screamed it aloud for another trans girl to hear.

For now, fuck everything else in this chapter. Wanting it alone makes Ayre trans enough.

she admires the black tulip, grinning just a bit. it was an uncommon color, to be sure, but it was striking. it made her feel like a little bit less of a weirdo for bringing up the dead pods of snapdragons if he can admit he spent countless hours trying to cross-pollinate certain flowers. she smiles softly, enjoying listening to him ramble on.

there's a certain light to people when they talk about things they love. it looked nice on him. the way his curls shook with excitement, his eyes lit up with expression, a smile pulled at the corners of his mouth, and he nearly ran out of breath from speaking. it was charming, and once again... dangerous.

she laughs. it was cute when guys like him didn't recognize their true power. how they look harmless from the outside, luring you in with sweet melodies of floral arrangements and carefully coded winks until they desert you. they always did. one way or another. 24. How much prep work do you put into your stories? What does that look like for you? Do you enjoy this part or do you just want to get on with it?

Tbh? Little to no prep-work sldkfsd. I find it so much easier and less stressful to just write as I go. If I have certain parts I want to get to, but I don't wanna forget, I might write those down, but otherwise, I'm just goin' in full hog bae-by!

25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?

If we're going for TAZ, then Barry has a birthmark shaped like a peanut by his left elbow and his mom calls him peanut because of it. She used to be the only person allowed to do that, but then Lup was allowed to do it too <3

For OC's, Snapdragon is allergic to so many Human Foods but she just doesn't know bc she's never eaten human food before. Or any food. What do you mean this vegetable isn't supposed to give me hives??? Isn't that normal???

26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?

Maybe this is weird, but I sit like I think the character would! Lucretia, for example, I tend to sit very straight back in my chair! Or w/ Angus, I sit up straight, but on the very edge of my seat. Verses someone like Taako, where I'll literally put my legs *over* my arm rests. Not good for my bones but good for my writing. I think Kravitz is somehow my favorite and least favorite bc I sit comfortably but I have to be extremely aware of the "is this how I sit in a chair or am I doing it wrong? I don't remember" mind frame sldfsdf.

Sometimes I'll repeat lines to myself in character voices! Which I'm sure is fun for everyone who lives with me lsdfsd

To get out of the mind frame, I will leave my room and sit in the living room instead. Just for a lil bit! But I have to be careful bc I might not wanna write anymore when I come back to my room.

Do I regret it? Sometimes, I guess? I get a little too into it and then someone comes in my room to find me trying to write while hanging half off my bed, so I guess I'm regretful for my spine!

For all Brunnhildes... fight, quiet, stillness. She spends a lot of time moving and thinking and doing. Offer her a space to not do, not think, and just be - that's comfort.

snapdragon : is your muse merciful ? why or why not ?

Mer·cy: compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm. It would depend on the person and the situation. Human Brunnhilde - yes. She is arguably the most merciful and the most forgiving. She is human, and she knows the burden of mortality - and only knows the gift that is life prior to death. Valkyrie Brunnhilde has no room for mercy; either a person deserves help or harm. She is not good, she is not evil, but she straddles a grey realm between. One where she knows full-well the consequence of death and removes it from the equation. Post-Ragnarok Brunnhilde does not put herself in a position where mercy is something she has to consider. She is also grey, living by her own compass - especially, now that the compass that made her has been destroyed.

sage : what is your muse’s legacy ? what do they want to be remembered for & what might they actually be remembered for ?

Human B: has no idea. She knows what she was told her legacy should be. The legacy she was raised for. Does she want it to be her actual legacy? She doesn't know. Or, she does - but the answer feels like a void. An erasure. Valkyrie B: Her legacy was to be a Valkyrie. To lead the Valkyrie. To fill the halls of Valhalla and to be present at Ragnarok. To be a great female warrior. A Queen. That is her legacy... is it what she wants? This is the conflict of all verses - it might not be. This was chosen for her/given to her. It is what she was made for. It is why she is who she is. And, who is she if she isn't that? The void stares back - and it frightens her. Post Ragnarok B: This one was hurled into the void and is facing the consequences. She's not sure legacy matters. Why would it, if it resulted in the erasure of that legacy and everything tied to it? She leans into nihilism, but is still tied to all that came before. She's figuring it out, and is more focused on who she is now, rather than what she wants to be in the future.
