Hey it’s been a bit! The Mammon episode finally came out, so here’s my review!
Pros:
- The sign language scene was cute. Kinda weird that a kid was seeing a show that was clearly for adults but I love me some representation so it gets a pass.
- Despite Blitz not really needing to be in this episode, I thank god he had little screen time and more time was dedicated to Fizz.
- The fish ladies (despite having wonky color palettes that made them EXTREMELY hard to look at) were cute.
Cons:
- Mammon is so flat and uninteresting but I don’t know what I expected from a creator who always hypes her characters up that always end up being one of the three go-to personalities she picks for her male characters. In Mammon’s case he’s just a loud mouth cursing bum so way to ruin another Deadly Sin and make them boring af, moving on.
- I don’t like how Mammon and Fizz’s relationship are similar of Val and Angel’s, Viv keeps recycling stories, characters and plot lines ect, it makes Angel’s story for Hazbin really predictable/underwhelming and not exciting to look forward too especially since we already have the “mafia bad daddy” aspect to him too that they pulled for Moxxie. I guess the idea of Mammon being a controlling ruler is fine on paper but not much is done with it, Fizz just quits in the end like it was easy with zero consequences so what was all that build up for.
- Fizz himself once again feels REALLY out of character, he’s just too soft compared to how he was introduced in season 1. He’s constantly nervous in this episode and insecure, as well as walking on eggshells, and even in Oops he wasn’t THIS sensitive. I’m all for characters struggling and being kicked down but it has to make sense and not feel forced, and once again it feels like Viv is trying way to hard to make the characters she once introduced as snarky assholes to uwu innocent babies. I refuse to believe Fizz was actually INTIMIDATED by this random geeky imp who insulted him, as well as the fish ladies whom he was weirdly nice and welcoming to. It’s also weird seeing how uncomfortable/nervous he was around his fans when I thought the whole point was that he LOVED praise and loved being famous, at least that was season 1 Fizz. Now he feels retconned. Seeing him say “I just need this gig” is weird too, the explanation to why he went through all of this makes no sense, Fizz still has Ozzie and is famous in the Lust ring, and I understand Mammon is his idle but to go through all that abuse for so long for something that could have been so easily avoided feels forced to fit the plot, but it also makes Fizz look dumb.
- There’s confusing lore stuff regarding Mammon and Ozzie, and it makes me realize that Viv should have picked ONE storyline aka ONE Seven Deadly sin to go with Fizz’s story because this is getting mixed up. Fizz acts like if he looses this completion, he looses everything, which confused the heck out of me because no he wouldn’t have? First of all, Ozzie is a fucking powerful sin, how would you loose him? Second, from what we know from season 1, Fizz is a jester who performs at Ozzie’s club. It was Ozzie who built the sex robots across the rings of hell, NOT Mammon, and in season 2 we see that Fizz is under Ozzie’s care and lives in his house. Yet for some weird reason Mammon also represents Fizz and uses him for profit, but it’s not really explained in a way that makes sense, like Love’s art had said in her Fizz redesign video, Fizz’s job is really confusing on what exactly he does. Having both Ozzie and Mammon represent him overcomplicates things and the show did a poor job at explaining how this goes.
- Once again Viv dumps trauma and struggle onto her characters without building it up first. When did Fizz ever give off the impression that he was being controlled or abused, or even that he was so insecure and constantly walked on eggshells to be perfect. In Oops he was happy to be in the spotlight and happy to get the attention, he bragged to Blitz about how successful he was. He seemed happy to perform for Mammon and talked of him highly, and now you’re pulling an Angel Dust situation where he’s expected to be perfect 24/7 and it gets to him emotionally, while also being someone who’s physically and mentally abused. Yet another season 2 episode that wasn’t planned, same as how Millie wanting to feel important wasn’t planned, same as how Stolas seeing Blitz as genuine love wasn’t planned. Different episode, same issues.
- I’m so done with the Hell lore bro, this place officially has no rules and demons can just do anything without consequences. There’s no class system, there’s no rankings, there’s no power dynamics, screw anything that Viv says. There was no fucking reason why Ozzie and Fizz’s relationship needed to be a secret. There was no reason showing Ozzie threatening his workers to not tell anyone about his love life if he was just going to admit it to EVERYONE THE NEXT EPISODE IN FRONT OF ANOTHER SIN ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME— what was the POINT. What is the point of Stolas and Blitz’s conflict. What is the point of Stella being classist. What is the point of these class systems and rules if you can just announce that you technically broke a hell rule and no one gives a fuck and you get off scott free. Mammon telling Ozzie “you’ll regret that” like a cartoon villain doesn’t do anything either. What is he ganna do? Tell Lucifer, the character that canonically won’t appear in HB because the sins won’t appear in HH? If Lucifer rules over the sinners, who the fuck is in charge for the rest of Hell. Where’s the authority? And Mammon is just ganna come back for another episode to give the gang trouble cause lord knows we don’t have enough fucking villains already.
- It feels weird that Ozzie would just sit back while someone whom he knows is a piece of shit is treating his loved one badly. I get he was concerned but you’d think one of the seven deadly sins would have more power and authority.
- I was expecting some big gross bug-like thing to appear when Mammon was transforming into his final form, only for it to the exact same design but with small extra eyes and a spider lower half that isn’t even visible in most shots….GOD VIV.
Watching this episode also made me remind myself that this is supposed to be Hell. Seeing Fizz feel better and stand up for himself was sweet but these soft lessons and morals don’t belong in a show like this, and it’s extra aggravating regarding Viv’s double standard, how she can just pick and choose which characters she wants to be evil and which characters are saints. Overall not anywhere near the worst episode of season 2, but I am officially done with Helluva Boss so-

The biggest Easter egg yet
I’ve been meaning to address this for a while now, but @camdenleisurepirates gave me the final push after reading my piece on Gabriel’s cross. Huge thanks for that morsel of motivation, my ADHD brain loves you.
This is going to be yet another long read, although not as extensive as my bookshop statues meta. Still, better get yourself some hot chocolate or another drink of your choice and make sure you’re comfortable!
Now, remember the X-Ray interview with Peter Anderson on Easter Eggs in the opening animation he created for the second season? Forget red herrings, apparently our fandom has a literal red phone box! I’m convinced that this whole scene is a one big — the biggest, actually — Easter Egg, and I’ll explain why step-by-step.
The red phone box Crowley used to warn Aziraphale about the Antichrist and the following Armageddon in S1, the exact one where he left change for an emergency call, seems important enough in terms of the future S3 plot, but there’s so much more going on in this frame. Not only the lift.
The angels
At the very start of this sequence we can see a fragment of an elaborate bridge guarded by cherubs sitting on two columns, maybe globes, leading to a distant structure built over a literal mountain of trash — all elements of the S1 and S2 openings which were consciously picked out by the animators and put together in a very ominous pile.
Ready for some scavenging?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Gabriel’s cross meta, I already mentioned the importance of Ponte Sant’Angelo in relation to the ex-Archangel’s statue. Now it’s time to widen our perspective and focus on the full picture — quite literally. Apparently the bridge from the opening sequence has ten statues of angels, exactly as the Italian historical monument.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First things first though: the two big cherubs guarding the entry to the bridge might seem familiar to some of you. While they’re obviously not copies of the same statue, a very similar pair of brass cherubs is placed in Aziraphale’s bookshop to symbolize Aziraphale and Crowley. And looking at the screenshot above and the way they sleep or sulk with their backs turned on each other, they are most certainly not talking. The addition of more than one set of eyes is a lovely reference to biblically accurate angel memes though.
If we assume the traditional left-right positioning of the characters, Aziraphale is on the left and Crowley is on the right. Directly behind Aziraphale we can see a ship named “Good Traits”, but in reverse — kinda sorta confirmed by the animator Peter Anderson to be connected to the concept of the seven deadly sins on Twitter. Same that was mentioned recently by Neil in one of his asks.
Tumblr media
The presence of Gabriel — a renegade Archangel wielding a broken cross — on the right, Crowley’s side, seems to match this theory. It could also support one of the possible interpretations of the very last bookshop shot in the S2 finale.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out of all ten statues, Angel Carrying the Cross by Ercole Ferrata is considered inferior to the others on the bridge in that it appears to be a two-dimensional relief sculpture rather than an unbounded three-dimensional artwork, which seems to match Gabriel’s first impression as a character.
The inscription on the statue reads, “Dominion rests on his shoulders" — that is the weight of the cross that Christ was forced to carry through Jerusalem before being crucified. Even though Gabriel’s burden partially disappeared, the whole bridge and its environment is covered with crosses. It’s clear that we’re looking at a direct parallel of Via Crucis, the Way of Sorrows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Towering over the Italian bridge, at the very top of Castel Sant’Angelo, is a statue of Archangel Michael, seen as the golden angel on the top left part of the trash pile. Aziraphale’s side, perhaps as his assistant, perhaps a rival? Legends of the Jews mention Michael as the chief of a band of angels who questioned God's decision to create man on Earth. The entire band of angels, except for Michael, was condemned to Fall — which could explain why they have such a good access to the Grapevine That Obviously Doesn’t Exist. And whatever’s going on between Michael and Dagon, perhaps.
In Roman Catholic teachings, Michael has four main roles or offices. Their first role is the leader of the Army of God and the leader of Heaven's forces in the final triumph over the powers of Hell. Viewed as the angelic model for the virtues of the spiritual warrior, their conflict with evil taken as the battle within. The second and third roles of Michael deal with death. Their second role is that of an angel of death, carrying the souls of Christians to Heaven. Michael descends at the hour of death and gives each soul the chance to redeem itself before passing; thus throwing the devil and his minions into consternation. In their third role, Michael weights souls on perfectly balanced scales they are often depicted with as their attribute. In their fourth role, Michael appears as the guardian of the Church. Might be the reason why they’re the closest to the building on top of the mountain.
It looks like Michael lost their sword though, just like Gabriel lost a part of the cross he was supposed to carry. The sword in question was supposed to be used to slay the dragon — Satan, the Adversary — according to John of Patmos and his Book of Revelations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speak of the devil: interestingly, there are two copies of an anonymous variation of the Angel of Light statue appearing twice on both sides of the bridge. Both the title as well as the statue itself seem like obvious references to one (former) angel literally called the Lightbringer, Lucifer. Perhaps one of them is representing his son, the Antichrist, instead, with the both of them helping out the Ineffables on two opposing — or perhaps only parallel — sides of the bridge?
Tumblr media
The light carried by Lucifer appears to be green, a color used in the series as a visual representation of Hell, but on the intertextual level might also serve as a reference to F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel The Great Gatsby and the green light at the end of the Daisy’s dock symbolizing the undying love, desperation, and longing for an unattainable dream. In the story, the color represents the limitations of power and money. Not surprisingly, the novel appears on Jim’s bookshelf and is part of the Good Omens book club — a list of personal recommendations from Neil Gaiman and Douglas Mackinnon for the fans to catch up on before the next series.
Tumblr media
Last but not least, the possible connection to Libertas as the inspiration for the Statue of Liberty, shown multiple times in S2 as a foreshadowing of our character’s trip to America in S3. The related quote of Patrick Henry “Give me liberty or give me death” becomes even more relevant if we consider how the motto of the French Revolution was sometimes written as Liberté, égalité, fraternité ou la mort (“Liberty, equality, fraternity or death”). A lesson surely learnt by a certain angel back in 1793, when he was held prisoner for the last time before being forcefully taken Upstairs in the Final Fifteen.
Tumblr media
The bridge and the castle
Okay, these are the basic observations. Now a brief historical overview and we will reach the fun bit in a jiffy.
Have you ever wondered about the meaning of this whole complex? It wasn’t always angelic, but named after a Roman noble dynasty. The Aelian bridge was built by the Emperor Hadrian in 134 AD to span River Tiber from the city center to his mausoleum. With time, the remains of more emperors were put to rest in there, until it was plundered and destroyed in a war. Then the remaining structure was transformed into a military fortress and a castle serving as the papal residence in times of war.
Tumblr media
The Papal State also used Sant'Angelo as a prison; the Renaissance philosopher Giordano Bruno was imprisoned there for six years. Executions of the inmates were performed in the small inner courtyard, but they weren’t the only deaths in the area. On the other side of the bridge, in the adjoining Piazza del Ponte, under the watchful eyes of the stone likenesses of two saints, the public executions were held, and the heads of the criminals were brought onto the bridge and exposed to public view there.
As a prison, the former mausoleum is also the setting for the third act of Giacomo Puccini's 1900 opera Tosca. Long story short, the eponymous heroine convinces her lover to feign death so that they can flee together. Unfortunately, they are betrayed and the firing squad shoots at him with real bullets instead of blanks. Tosca believes in the quality of his acting performance rather than the truth, and when the realization hits her, she leaps to her death from the Castel’s ramparts.
Tumblr media
After Nero’s bridge was destroyed, the travelers were forced to cross this bridge as the only direct route to the Vatican and St Peter’s Basilica, earning it the nickname “the bridge of Saint Peter”. That’s why in the 16th century Pope Clement VII erected statues of Saints Peter and Paul at the ends of the bridge, guarding it as they are supposed to protect the entry to Heaven.
In 1688 the bridge was embellished with ten angel statues, five on each side of the bridge, carrying Arma Christi, the Instruments of the Passion. The Good Omens characters represented by those statues in the opening sequence might be other instruments of Christ’s suffering as parts of the system that needs to be overthrown or replaced.
Tumblr media
One angel appears particularly important in the context of both the bridge and the Second Coming — Saint Michael the Archangel.
Legend holds that the Archangel Michael appeared atop Hadrian’s mausoleum, sheathing their sword as a sign of the end of the plague of 590, thus lending the castle its present name. A less charitable yet more apt elaboration of the legend, given the militant disposition of this particular Archangel, was heard by the 15th-century traveler who saw an angel statue on the castle roof. He recounts that during a prolonged season of the plague, Pope Gregory I heard that the populace, even Christians, had begun revering a pagan idol at the church of Santa Agata in Suburra. A vision urged the Pope to lead a procession to the church. Upon arriving, the idol miraculously fell apart with a clap of thunder. Returning to St Peter's by the Aelian Bridge, the Pope had another vision of an angel atop the castle, wiping the blood from his sword on his mantle, and then sheathing it. While the Pope interpreted this as a sign that God was appeased, this did not prevent Gregory from destroying more sites of pagan worship in Rome. In honor of the vision and Michael, the bridge was renamed in their name.
Tumblr media
What if the procession from the opening sequence was meant to imitate the procession led by the Pope from the legend? What if Aziraphale, now officially a Supreme Archangel, Commander of the Heavenly Host, is the one actually leading it, with Crowley finally at his side as his partner and second in command, just like it was proposed by him in the Final Fifteen?*
What if by some reason, maybe personal ambition, maybe just a tragic coincidence or situational necessity, there really was an impostor in Heaven, and Metatron — the so called Voice of God who seemingly doesn’t speak up for Herself since Job’s test — has been playing a winged version of the Wizard of Oz all along?
It would make just the perfect sense if not for one tiny detail. The procession we see on the bridge is actually led by Crowley, which doesn’t fit the parallel at all — unless it’s actually a proof of an ongoing body swap, as the mismatched names of the actors could also suggest?
Tumblr media
The mountain of trash and the bookshop
The symbolic mountain of trash we can see Aziraphale and Crowley climb is a reference in itself. To an actual mount called Zion, believed to be the place where Yahweh, the God of Israel, dwells (Isaiah 8:18; Psalm 74:2), the place where God is king (Isaiah 24:23) and where God has installed king David on his throne (Psalm 2:6).
Tumblr media
In a literal sense, it’s a hill in Jerusalem, although the sources refer to three different locations in different contexts — although for the purpose of this meta the Upper Eastern Hill (Temple Mount) makes the most sense. Its highest part became the site of Solomon's Temple. The same King Solomon the rituals in Freemasonry refer to. Masonic buildings, where lodges and their members meet, are sometimes called "temples" specifically as an allegoric reference to King Solomon's Temple, not actual places of worship. And Aziraphale’s bookshop is built around Solomon’s Magic Circle.
In a metaphysical sense, and especially in the context of the Christian New Testament, it is also believed to be a part of Heaven — the heavenly Jerusalem, God's Holy, eternal city. Christians are said to have “(…) come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven” (Hebrews 12:22-23 cf. Revelation 14:1). Just like the procession were following in the opening sequence.
Tumblr media
There’s been some speculation whether the lift on top of the mountain could symbolize Aziraphale’s bookshop, or, more specifically, the oculus in its centre. If you look closely at the enhanced screenshot, you can see that the dome isn’t made of glass and that it looks like a tower (a church’s bell tower, perhaps) more than a whole building.
And there is an actual doorway in there — not like the modern lift doors — opening up towards the source of that white, heavenly light. And what kind of enlightenment can you usually find up in the skies or heavens?
Tumblr media
We’re welcomed to crack open the doors to the Heavenly Sanctuary — the Most Holy place, Sanctum Sanctorum, the Holy of Holies — to undraw the final curtain and finally stand eye to eye with God. Who knows, maybe even ask some questions or listen to some answers.
Or, at the very least, to meet one of Her forms known as Jesus Christ. Because that’s precisely where he serves as our (humanity’s) Mediator and the Holy Priest after his Ascension to Heaven. The structure at the top reminds of some temple architecture seen in Antiquity and Christianity.
Tumblr media
The Catholic Church considers the Church tabernacle or its location (traditionally at the rear of the sanctuary) as the symbolic equivalent of the Holy of Holies, due to the storage of consecrated hosts in that vessel and their meaning as the Body of Christ. Tabernacle is commonly marked with a red light turned on and off depending on His presence or lack if it.
Looks like He’s already in the area, one way or another, keeping eye on some things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Are we following a procession of believers happy to embrace their one and true Savior? Or are they actually protesters on their way to dethrone the authority and the system?
Guess we will have to wait and see.

Title: I've Always Loved you Pairing: Park Jimin x f!reader Word Count: 3k+ Genre: Fluff, Holiday au Summary: You haven't seen Park Jimin in over three years and now your walking into his house to celebrate the spooky season of Halloween. Your feelings mixed as you try to avoid him, but find out he's everywhere. Will you admit your feelings or leave with rejection, find out in this Halloween special! Warning: drinking, kissing, making out, thoughts of feelings on someone else, heartbreak, I never know how to label these things...
Notes: Hello everyone! I hope you all had a very spooky Halloween and that you all stayed safe! I know I ended up staying home cause it started snowing, but with the season of Halloween I decided to write this little drabble and hope you enjoy it! Notes 2: Anyway, this is my first time writing something for BTS so sorry if the guys sound a bit out of character... I was trying something new so feed back is always welcome! Anyway, enjoy the rest of Halloween if your in the states, if not Happy November first! Byeee!!!
“What do you mean ‘you're not going’? You said you would go with me and you promised you would be there.” Your best friend Kaitlyn said as you and her were heading to Jimin’s house for a halloween party.
“I’m. Not. Going. How confusing is that?” you replied as you were laying in bed scrolling through your socials. You hadn’t seen Jimin in what felt like years, and going to this Halloween party meant bumping into him since the party was at his house.
“It's not, but you promised, so you're going. Now get dressed, or I’ll pick out the costume you're wearing, and you know which one I’d put you in.” Kaitlyn said as you gave her a look.
“I am not wearing that costume, and you know my reasoning. Why are you being such a bitch today?”
Kaitlyn shrugged, “Don’t go back on your promises and I won't be a bitch, simple as that.” She said with a huge grin on her face. You groaned knowing that this party could last all night, but being around the others did bring a slight smile to your face. You had gotten close to Hoseok and Seokjin that maybe going to the party wasn’t such a bad idea. You just had to avoid Jimin. How hard could that be?
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☽◯☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆
“I already hate it here.” You said as you looked at your friend and then at the large house in front of you. The yard and house was packed to the brim. People littered the front yard like Jimin was throwing a yard sale or something and the music that was coming from the front door seemed loud and annoying. Why in sam’s hell did you agree to come to this thing?
Kaitlyn chuckled, "Come on, let's go get a couple of drinks and we can go find Hoseok or someone. You know a ‘familiar face’ so we don’t feel so weirded out. I know I don’t like big crowds, but it was the only party that was happening tonight and we all know that Jimin can throw parties that are out of this world. We’ll have fun. Just relax okay?” Kaitlyn said as the two of you slowly made your way up to the door. You decided to dress up as Diane from The Seven Deadly Sins. Thighs out, boots up to your knee, and a similar hammer attached to your back just in case you needed to beat someone’s ass if they got too touchy. Your friend, Kaitlyn, decided to dress up as Noelle from Black Clover. She said she didn’t want to show too much skin, but if she got drunk enough you knew that she would be naked in a heartbeat. Your eyes rolling in your head as when you entered the house, it was decked out in halloween theme decorations. Fog machines, spider webs, skulls, bats, and pumpkins littering the shelves and tables that you honestly thought the house looked nice. It just made you upset because it was all at Jimin’s house and you didn’t want to be here because you hadn’t seen him in what felt like years.
“You made it! I’m surprised you got her to come!” Hoseok said as he came up to you and gave you and Kaitlyn a hug.
“Took a lot to get her here, but she’s here and she’s not going anywhere since we took my car instead of hers.” Kaitlyn said as you huffed but hugged Hoseok back as you were happy to see him.
“Well, come in! Lets go get you ladies something to drink! I saw Jimin spike the punch with vodka but if you have something else you want to drink, you should have brought it yourself.” Hoseok laughed as you couldn’t move to the kitchen fast enough. You swore you could hear Jimin talking to someone nearby and your heart was racing.
“Y/N! You’re here! OMG! I’m so happy you're here!” Taehyung smiled as you could tell he had already started drinking.
“Hey, V, how are you doing?” You asked as the four of you made your way to the punch bowl and started pouring drinks. You didn’t really want to drink, but Kaitlyn said it would help you relax more so bottoms up and pray you’ll have a good night.
“I’m doing wonderful! Have you said hi to everyone? Did you lock lips with you know who?” Taehyung asked as he wiggled his eyebrows.
You scrunched up your nose and shook your head, “No, I didn’t ‘lock lips with you know who.’ I have yet to see him and hope to god I don’t see him. I’m sure he had long forgotten about me and to be honest I’m okay with that.” You said as you heard some shuffling around behind you and then a voice. That voice bringing a shiver down your spine as it always sounded a bit high pitched, but not in an annoying way, more like a bell or a choir singing to you. The voice was magical that you wished you could hear the voice more often. You just didn’t know if tonight was the night you were going to confess. You and him haven’t talked for over three years. Three years of him going off to college in Seoul and you staying in Busan working because you couldn’t afford college. He had said he would visit, but as time went, he became nonexistent, which in the end broke your heart.
“Don’t see who? Were you trying to avoid someone?” Jimin asked as you all turned to see him dressed up as a vampire. His silver hair tucked back, and his beautiful brown eyes were now red from a pair of contacts you assumed he bought on Amazon.
“No one, don’t worry about it.” You said as you grabbed your drink and decided to explore the house some more. You had to get away from Jimin as your heart started to pound deep within your chest. You were scared. You were breaking. He looked more beautiful than the day he left, and you were sure he wasn’t the pure innocent boy you knew all those years ago.
“Y/n! Wait up! Don’t leave me alone with these assholes!” Kaitlyn said as Taehyung pouted slightly. He was probably the softest out of the small group that was forming in the kitchen. He was cute and funny, always knew when something was wrong, but drunk Taehyung was someone you had to watch out for. He didn’t know how to keep his mouth shut, and honestly, how you were feeling, you didn’t need to have him blab about all the thoughts that were running in your head.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☽◯☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆
“Wow, nice costume, didn’t think you had it in you, but fuck… you look great!” Jungkook smiled as you were now outside hanging with Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jungkook.
“Thanks! It took some getting used, too, but I think with the tights on under the costume, I kinda feel more confident. Not walking around in a bathing suit and feeling half naked, ya know?” You smiled as Yoongi elbowed Namjoon, who seemed to have his mouth open from being in shock at how beautiful you looked in Diane’s clothing.
“You're welcome, where’s Kaitlyn? Did she come with you?” Jungkook asked as he and her sorta had an on and off relationship.
“She’s somewhere. Last I saw, she was with Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung. Who’s to say where she is now.” you replied, sipping on the weird concoction Jimin had made in the punch bowl.
“Ah, think she’ll wanna talk?” Jungkook asked as you shrugged your shoulders.
“I don’t know, she was the one that dragged me to this party. Honestly, I wanted to stay home and just watch horror flicks, but here I am…” you said as Namjoon smiled.
“Well, I’m glad you're here. Honestly, I missed seeing you around.” Namjoon spoke as your cheeks reddened from his compliment.
“I miss being around too. It's weird being back here, though. After Jimin left for college, I didn’t think any of us would hang out. I mean, Yoongi got that record deal. You went off to college as well, but stayed here, Jungkook started working along with I.” You began as you honestly didn’t want to remember the night Jimin told you he was leaving and that he wouldn’t be back until he finished. He might visit during the holidays, but when that first christmas came around, you didn’t see him, and you sure in hell didn’t see the others.
“Yeah, life just kinda got busy, but hey, three years isn’t that long, and honestly, having the party here meant there was no way Jimin was skipping this one. I mean, have you seen his place? Its fucking huge!” Namjoon said as a slight shiver went up your spine as the wind picked up out of the blue.
“Here, take this. You’ll feel warmer.” Jungkook said as he gave you his blazer.
“Thanks, Kookie, but I’m okay. I was thinking about heading inside and seeing if I could find Kaitlyn. Think you could come join me?” You asked as everyone sorta shared a look.
“Uh, sure, I can come with you. Is everything okay?” Jungkook asked as you nodded your head. You didn’t know why but just having one of the others nearby gave you comfort. You didn’t see Jimin as a threat, but just having one of the other guys with you while he was around gave you a safe space. You were eventually going to talk to Jimin, you just weren’t ready yet and you didn’t know when you would be ready. You just needed time.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☽◯☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆
“There you are! I was beginning to think you walked home. Hi! How are you?” Kaitlyn asked as you couldn’t believe she was drunk if not close to being drunk.
“Fine, hey uh, where’s Jimin? I need to uh talk to him.” You said as it was about eleven o’clock when you found your friend.
“He went upstairs with some girl who said she wasn’t feeling well… as if… honestly if she wanted to get into Jimin’s pants she could of just said ‘hey I wanna fuck you’ or something, not pretend to be sick just so she could get him alone. I mean would you do something like that? Would you pretend to be sick just to get into Jimin’s pants?”
You shook your head, “No, because I don’t see him that way… and how many drinks have you had already? Where is Taehyung and Hoseok? Weren’t they with you last?” You asked as you looked around for your friends.
“Hobi is with his girlfriend and Tae went to go look for you. Said he really wanted you to go talk to Jimin before it was too late, whatever that means. I know you lik-” You covered Kaitlyn’s mouth before she could talk anymore. Your heart pounding in your chest again as you didn’t need the others and whoever else was around to know you liked him. Sure, you and Jimin were best friends growing up but who’s to say he didn’t find someone while he was off to college. He could have settled on a girl in his class and just couldn’t make it tonight. You just had to find some way around it so your heart could calm down.
“Well, here’s your boyfriend, try not to make a scene okay?” You said as Jungkook smiled at Kaitlyn and then watched as you disappeared upstairs where you were honestly afraid you were going to run into Jimin fucking some random girl, breaking your heart even more.
“So, do you really like her? I mean she’s been avoiding you since she showed up. What kind of person does that?” you heard someone talk as Jimin spoke next.
“Someone who is scared to admit their feelings, but I get it. I just hadn’t had the chance to talk to her since she got here because everyone keeps bothering us. I’m sure we’ll talk eventually but for now…” Jimin paused as the person he was talking with started to giggle, “You need to lay down and get some rest, I’ll come check on you in a little bit.”
The person spoke once more as you felt your heart sink knowing he had been wanting to talk to you since you got here, but everyone kept bothering you two so you were both never alone.
“Well, if you do talk to her, Jiminie, tell her she’s stupid. Tell her the truth and tell her what you feel, because truth be told I feel like you're wasting your time with her. You could be doing so much better and I do mean better…” you rolled your eyes as you knew the person he was talking about was talking about themselves.
“I know, but my heart is set on her and her alone. I just have to get her alone… I just don’t know how..” Jimin said as the floor creaked from underneath you and the door moved just enough for you to see who he was talking to.
“Oh, y/n, hi… um… it's not what it looks like I promise!” the girl in bed said as Jimin was sitting next to her leaned over as if he was going to give her a kiss.
“Right.. Um.. can we talk?” You asked looking Jimin right in the eyes as you felt your heart thud against your rib cage.
“Of course… just give me a second.” he said as you nodded. You walked further down the hall waiting for him. The voices in the room hushed as Jimin walked out and closed the door. His head turned in your direction as the next thing you knew your lips were against his and his arms were around his waist.
“How long?” You asked as the two of you made out in the hallway.
“How long for what?” Jimin asked as he was confused on why he was making out with you, his best friend.
“How long have you liked me?” You questioned one more time as this time you could hear the gears clicking and then a slight whine as you bit his lower lip.
“Since the day I left for college… I knew it when you said your goodbye that I knew my heart belonged to you and only you.” He said as his hands moved up your sides and slowly caged you against the wall you were now pinned against.
“Then why didn’t you say something? Why didn’t you come and visit me during the holidays? Why did you stay away?”
“Because I was scared you didn’t feel the same. I know we had joked about dating and being each other's significant other, but to be clear, it's kinda hard to not fall for… I mean look at you…” He stopped kissing you as he eyed your Seven Deadly Sins costume, “You look stunning in this… you could probably wear anything and look beautiful in it.”
You blushed, “But what if my feelings for you were the same? I mean I just kissed you. Did that not mean anything to you?”
Jimin arched his brow but frowned, “It does, but you have also been drinking and I don’t want your feelings getting mixed because you were under the influence. I mean… if you do like me then I must be the luckiest boy in the world, but if you don’t then I’m in deep shit because I took advantage of you…”
“But I do like you… I’ve always liked you… Why can’t you accept that..” you mumbled as you saw what he meant by being under the influence.
“Because you're drunk, y/n… I know sober you wouldn’t be all handsy on me… you would have rather talked to me than make out with me. I just…” he pressed his forehead against yours as his lips slowly ghosted over yours softly. You could taste the vodka and orange juice but what you were also tasting was his emotions.
“So you're saying you would rather talk about this sober than with alcohol in our systems? That makes sense.” You said as you pushed yourself away from him, making him back up just a bit, “But will you remember this when you are sober?”
Jimin nodded, “Of course… I just hope you do too.”
You frowned looking at him. You swore you didn’t have that much to drink but for being here almost close to midnight and a few drinks in, you could tell that you weren’t completely sober, but you weren’t also drunk either.
“Well, now what? I mean I clearly can’t go home, and I’m sure Kaitlyn is tongue deep in Jungkook’s mouth… Did you want me to catch a cab and talk to you tomorrow?” you asked as your heart sank knowing you could have just had a one night stand and not see Jimin after this all happening.
“No, You can uh… stay here for the night. I just have to kick Veronica out of bed so you have some place to sleep. If not, there's always the guest room.”
You nodded your head, “Will you come hang out with me until I fall asleep? Just so I’m not alone and someone takes you know… advantage of me?”
Jimin looked at you with questionable eyes, “No, but I’ll stay near so I can watch the door, how does that sound?”
You pouted, “Fine, but you better keep a good eye on the door. I don’t want some creep coming in, you hear me?”
Jimin chuckled, “I hear you, I hear you. Let’s get you to bed.” he said as he took you to the guest room and smiled, “I hope you do remember this… I hope you and I can start a new chapter in our lives as a real couple, and I hope you know I do love and care for you..”
“I love and care for you too, Jimin, I-” You were cut off by Jimin’s lips as he smiled. He walked you into the guest bedroom and laid you down as he tucked you in like a child and kissed your forehead telling you good night. The last thing after that was his smile and how you said I love you one more time. You were madly in love with him. Sober or not. You were going to remember this, you just hope he did too.

once I've moved past my current plan for the week I should definitely draw a visual for that still-unnamed dating sim joke project. Since it's not a joke anymore. But until then I should probably write down a little blurb about each character in it.
Godfrey Ainsworth. The renowned professor of biology and the effects of the divine upon it, a priest of the goddess of knowledge and the moon and an accomplished mage. An elder naga(1) philim(2) who rarely sets aside time for things other than his research or teaching, because he's too engrossed in it.
Alec Faustus. A young philim priest of the goddess of life and agriculture, seemingly far from home at the Jadena(3) magic university. Alternating personalities and a pair of mismatched eyes, haunted by some recent past he chooses not to speak on.
Reid Thomel. A human mercenary and blacksmith from the Adventurer's Guild branch in Smaragden(4) and your traveling companion to the city. Still much of a stranger to you, but a very friendly and well-connected one.
Orion. A mysterious aleph(5) from the far north who claims to be a deity on earth. They are powerful, yes, but not enough to be a god. After all, they are more than just their hands. Their white hands blessed by the goddess of winter and death. Emotionless and uninterested in others, it's up to you to make yourself worth having interest in.
Chloe Sialia. A powerful philim vampire(6) mage sating some craving for knowledge at the university despite having the knowledge to be an instructor instead. His age and power is far from the usual of his kind, seeming even more inhuman than he already is, but that humanity in him is not completely buried just yet.
Celeste Parrya. A rabbitfolk philim mage who claims to be taught by one of the god candidates themselves. She excels at time magic and would be an exemplary healer, and yet she does not pursue that path. She is simply aimless in her goals, accompanied by a man who is her entire opposite.
Mab. An Eldest of the First World of Golarion, a Queen of.... hey wait a minute that's the wrong setting! The fey queen of ice has been isekai'd, and well, she's completely unfamiliar with the world and especially its dragons. I'm sure with time she'll find a way back. Better question is how would she react to meeting the alternate universe versions of her children..?
Setting Glossary/Footnotes under cut:
(1) Naga - a person with the lower body of a serpent. An offshoot of Philim that became their own race. Name not final.
(2) Philim - a person born with the influence of a Devil. There are few overlapping traits between philim, but if enough are born from a specific devil's influence they can become a standalone offshoot.
(3) Jadena - the holy city of the goddess of knowledge and the moon and home to the largest university on the continent. It is home to many powerful mages and priests, sometimes both at the same time, and is the largest source of enchanted items.
(4) Smaragden - a city in the mountains known for its endless rainy season, theorized to be caused by a dragon. Many adventurers flock here in hopes of seeing the dragon, and to meet the three god candidates that live here.
(5) Aleph - DID YOU THINK I WAS GOING TO MAKE ELVES NORMAL? NO. Aleph are the longer lived of the pointed-ear folk. Their ears have a notable S curve and their hair and eyes shift with their emotions.
(6) Vampire - a philim offshoot that is the exception to the rule. Vampires are created either at the time of a mortal's death when the Devil of Undeath exerts his influence, or when another vampire kills a mortal with the intent to turn them. They are each defined by one of the seven deadly sins, which can be directed but the influence of that sin on each vampire cannot be ignored.
I'm not elaborating on rabbitfolk. You get it.

Aziraphale’s Sins
I saw someone on Reddit say Aziraphale uses the seven deadly sins as a checklist, and I couldn’t help but reflect on it.
Tumblr media
In season one, we see very clear pride (in his clothing and his books), gluttony, and greed.
Tumblr media
In season two, we get even more gluttony (the source of it, in fact), a fair helping of sloth, envy (he shows this at what he thinks is Crowley’s freedom as a demon regarding Job), and greed again (he’s now officially stopped even pretending he’s going to sell his books. Plus he threw a whole ball, making humans do things against what they originally wanted, to have an intimate night with his kinda-sorta boyfriend).
Tumblr media
We see bits of lust and wrath leaking out in season two, so it stands to reason these will be at the forefront of season three, if the theory tracks.

How Disney has neutered their villains, an essay by a bored pumpkin
We all love Disney villains, they’re why some of us have a tumblr in the first place. A way to express our favorites to other people and/or give love to underrated villains. They’re also one of the most memorable things about Disney: their ability to create dark villains.
Many villains are so iconic that they show up at the theme parks and especially during October, with the Halloween season. However, I feel that ever since the 2000s, the villains have been toned down to the point where you can’t call them villains, only antagonists and bad guys.
So today, I’m gonna explain why I feel like this and why it’s kind of gotten sad too. Also, this is just my personal opinion, y’all don’t have to agree with me.
Anyways, rambling is below the cut.
First, let’s discuss the difference between a bad guy, an antagonist, and villain, as these terms get confused as being the same due to being similar.
A bad guy is the word that “antagonist” and “villain” namely tie into as they’re similars of it. But the definition that’s commonly used for it is your average criminal you see on the street.
An antagonist, while similar to a villain, is actually what the protagonist lacks and are the creators of conflicts. Think Abuela Alma from Encanto. She’s not the villain, but she’s an obstacle and brings conflict to Mirabel.
Now, a villain is what we’re all familiar with. Their actions are important to the plot; Ernesto poisoning Héctor, Maleficent cursing Aurora, etc. These are the most common of bad guys in media, and over the years, the Disney villains are starting to become the antagonist slightly.
The 30s up until the 90s was where the villains had no chill. The first Disney villain, The Evil Queen from Snow White, literally tried to poison her stepdaughter and also made a sort of blueprint for how villain should be.
Their design needs to be somewhat iconic, their voice needs to be menacing and cool, their deaths are horrifying, and their actions need to drive the plot along with downright brutal.
Exhibit A: Maleficent cursing Aurora as a baby
Exhibit B: McLeach having no issue with attempted child murder
Exhibit C: Scar literally murdering his brother in front of his nephew
And so on and so forth.
Each of these villains have something iconic about them, and their actions are memorable while also very dark. But the villains are also both funny and menacing. You only really need a dark villain when the story asks for it, and in my opinion, there are two villains who do their job right of being a dark as fuck villain.
Judge Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
We all know about Frollo so I’ll give a brief summary of him. Basically, this dude is fucking insane. He also represents three of the Seven Deadly Sins: Pride, Wrath, and of course Lust. He lusted after the gypsy, Esmeralda, basically set Notre Dame ablaze, and tried to kill Quasimodo once as a baby and when he was an adult.
With HOND being a dark story, it makes sense as to why Frollo would be dark and it checks out. He also checks out the blueprints set by Grimhilde: his actions are dark, his voice and design are iconic, and his death is horrifying; literally showing that he’s going to Hell.
Now what about Judge Doom? Why is he so dark?
Well if you remember correctly, Judge Doom is technically a toon. But not just any toon: he is the toon that murdered Eddie Valient’s brother by dropping a piano on his head. And that’s not all.
Doom made a liquid that can permanently kill a toon: The Dip. It’s made out of paint thinners, which are used to erase a cartoon on the drawing board. And when we see that Doom is a toon, you realize: “Holy shit, this dude made something to kill his own kind.”
Doom had NO issue with destroying ToonTown. He wanted money AND to him, he thought it was funny.
And like Frollo, Doom immediately checks out with the blueprints: iconic design, iconic voice, actions are horrifying and drive the plot, and lets just say that, in my opinion, Doom’s death (and Doom in general) traumatized a generation of kids and adults.
These two villains are perfect examples of having dark villains for dark movies. And all of the other Disney villains are perfect examples of being funny and dark for kids movies. However, I feel like the moment the 2000s rolled around, things changed.
The 2000s and so on was definitely a time where people started to get more sensitive and kiddish, and Disney was no exception. Of course, they did make movies that are somewhat hardcore, but the same cannot be said for their villains.
Alameda Slim, Captain Gantu, Bowler Hat Guy. They all fill out the blueprints like their predecessors, but something felt off. They felt more toned down. Dark, yes, but it was definitely very kiddish than what we’ve been accustomed to the previous years. And it should be noted that this was when Disney started to slow down on killing their villains.
The two villains I feel that are like their predecessors are Dr. Facilier and Rourke. Their actions were dark, their whole aura was iconic, but their deaths were also pretty hardcore too.
Rourke was turned into a crystal and was literally shattered onscreen, and Facilier was dragged into Hell/the Loa ONSCREEN AND WE SAW HIS GRAVESTONE.
So, you see where I’m going with this? These two villains felt like they were from the 30s-90s, while everyone else felt like they were just PGd into oblivion.
The 2010s and forward was where the title of “villain” was completely lost. Of course, there are exceptions. King Candy/Turbo was a great comeback and Mother Gothel was awesome too, but that was it. Disney instead turned to Pixar’s motive for villains: twist villains.
The unholy trilogy of Disney’s twist villains are obviously Hans, Callaghan, and the sheep from Zootopia. And this is also where the blueprints set by Grimhilde were lost.
So let’s do this. Ignore Gothel and Turbo and only think of the villains after them. Can you name a single memorable thing about them? Any iconic lines? Can you remember their designs? Yeah, it’s pretty hard. Well, that’s my point.
These villains can only be called “antagonists” and “bad guys” because that’s how Disney sets them up to be. They’re so toned down that it kind of feels wrong to call them villains because what they do, while still dark and drives the plot, is just so kiddy.
Of course, you don’t need a villain with every movie. Encanto and Winnie the Pooh are good examples. YES, Abuela Alma was an ANTAGONIST, but she redeemed herself in the end and that movie was namely focused on the family trauma and Mirabel.
You might be thinking, “Sp00ks. Is this really necessary? Disney is just trying to make things appropriate for younger audiences.”
I’m sorry, but for the past 90 years, if this company has been showing their villains to be dark as Hell and have them be evil evil, yeah I’m gonna notice these changes.
So that’s why I believe that, in my opinion and based on what I’ve been seeing, Disney has been neutering their villains.
I haven’t seen Strange World, so I don’t know if that movie has a villain or not, but at this point I don’t care, which is disappointing.
Disney Villains are so memorable and it’s saying a lot when you can’t remember their villains from 10 years ago, but you can remember their villains from almost a century ago.

♥  Sam Winchester and Y/N Master list ♥
Tumblr media
Hello dear reader, welcome to my Sam and Y/N master list. Sam Winchester and Supernatural were the first fandoms I wrote Y/N stories for! It certainly holds a special place in my shipper heart!
Smut = 🔥 Romance = 💖 Fluff = 🌸 Angst = 🌧 Prompt = ✨ Episode = 🐶 One-shot = 🌱 Multi chaptered = 🌲 Collection = 🪴
The Power of Three 💖🌸🌧🐶🌲 Once upon a time, there were two brothers who saved the world - but who would be there to save them? What would have happened if Season 7 was different? What would have happened if the boys had met Y/N? - heavily focused on Y/N and Sam's relationship.
The Diner and The Bar 💖🌸🌱 Sammy used to work on the docks, he’s down on his luck, it’s tough, so tough. Y/N works the diner all day. She brings home her pay, for love, for love. - What happens when one hunter finds himself ordering from the diner Y/N works at?
Celebrating Life 💖🌸🌱 After a rough hunt, leaving the boys tired and with little hope, they return to the bunker filled with decorations and music. Lead by Y/N, Jack and Castiel helped turn the bunker into the perfect scene for the hunters to celebrate New Year's Eve properly! And it's just what the boys needed.
November Morning 💖🌸🌱 Y/N wakes up one morning and there is a very strong chill in the air of the bunker. Since there are no monster hunts to distract them from fixing the plumbing, the boys get to work to fixing the heat whilst Y/N sets up a warming sanctuary in the meantime.
Coming Up Easy 💖🌸🌱 Sam and Y/N wake up in the same bed and are thrown into the consequences of the morning after. When Dean makes a sudden return they have to think quickly on their feet. Will big brother approve of their recent relationship development? Be ready for rom-com cliche moments and tooth-rotting fluff!
The Mystery Dilemma 💖🌧🐶🌱 Y/N gets a phone call from Bobby who is worried about Sam. Since Dean was killed, Sam has been on a mission to find The Trickster, but in doing so, he’s pushed everyone away. When Bobby can’t get through to Sam, he pulls out the big guns. Unlucky for Sam. Set during 3X11 ‘Mystery Spot.
Lust in a Coffee Cup 🔥🌱 After a series of adultery based deaths, Y/N, Sam and Dean investigate. It seems one of the seven deadly sins has escaped hell and is looking for revenge. What happens when Lust curses both Sam and Y/N?

Slasher TV Series Review
Tumblr media
Slasher is an anthology slasher horror television series. Each season is centered on a masked killer with an unknown motive for killing their victims. The first season, retroactively subtitled The Executioner, centered on a mysterious figure who terrorizes the fictional town of Waterbury, Canada. The second season, subtitled Guilty Party, follows a group of former summer camp counselors who return to an isolated campground in order to retrieve the body of a murder they committed, before being targeted, one by one, by an unknown killer. The third season, Solstice, is centered on a group of neighbors who are targeted during the summer solstice period due to their complicity in not saving a murder victim who was killed one year earlier in front of their apartment complex.
I recently binged the first three seasons of Slasher, and was surprised by how much I loved it. I’m not a huge horror aficionado, however I do enjoy a good horror movie and thought this might pass the time. I was easily drawn in by the characters and narratives, and I thought it was really cool that quite a few cast members are used in multiple seasons, playing different characters.
Each season starts similarly – an unknown killer starts murdering people left and right, but there is often some kind of pattern to it. In season 1, Katie McGrath’s character returns to her home town, where her parents were murdered, and a new killer dons the mask of that killer and bases his murders on the seven deadly sins. In season 2, former friends who killed someone five years ago are targeted, whilst in season 3 residents of a certain apartment building are targeted a year after the death of one of their own.
I absolutely loved trying to figure out the patterns and who would be next – as well as the identity of the killer. There are always a handful of clues, but there are also some pretty incredible twists and reveals that keep things particularly interesting. The narrative works so well precisely because you cannot help but keep asking these questions, whilst the characters themselves are compelling enough to hold your interest until those questions are ultimately answered. Each season reveals the killer at least one episode before the end, allowing for some time to delve into the killer’s motives. I wasn’t just engrossed by trying to put the puzzle pieces together, I was genuinely invested in each story and its characters.
A warning – the kills can get quite gory, and season 3 in particular is quite graphic. So if you’re easily grossed out by blood and gore, and especially theatrical and gruesome murders, then I’d give this show a miss. If you enjoy slasher type horror, I would recommend it.

Not a favorite whump scene but I NEED to rec Meliodas from Seven Deadly Sins. This man is the single whumpiest character I think I have ever seen in my LIFE. Much of the delicious whump is wrapped up in massive, massive spoilers that I don’t want to reveal, but whumpy aspects include:
1) Meliodas has a special move that requires him to take massive amounts of damage in order for him to then unleash that damage tenfold upon his target. This results in scenes where either his allies have to attack him, or he has to allow his enemies to beat the shit out of him. And if he doesn’t calculate the amount of damage needed correctly or he doesn’t manage to pull the move off successfully, he’s fucked.
2) Meliodas has a marked tendency to allow others to hurt him in battle when he feels guilty. There are at least three scenes I can think of off the top of my head where he does this, and it’s so delightfully angsty every time.
3) I cannot actually explain his backstory without giving away massive, massive spoilers, but the whole thing is so massively angsty it makes for near-endless amounts of both physical and emotional whump both in canon and in fanfic (which a fairly significant chunk of the fans write, myself included.)
For bonus points, since so much of the angst is wrapped up in massive spoilers and backstory reveals, rereading/rewatching will result in you noticing a whole bunch of angsty moments you didn’t realize were angsty the first time because he was hiding basically everything.
For further bonus points, a large chunk of his fans are very much whump fans, whether they realize it or not, because there are so many fics and aus on tumblr and ao3 where his fans have literally gone, “Oh, he suffers in canon? Well, I’m going to hurt him more” and it’s absolutely beautiful.
The only downsides are that Seven Deadly Sins has a lot of sexual humor (in which consent tends to be dubious, but it’s also not supposed to be taken very seriously) which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, obviously, and also the anime’s really only good for the first two seasons. The rest are…painful to watch, and not in the fun way. Definitely recommend the manga over the anime.
oooh. oooooooh. anon. is this a world I have never seen into before?
first, LOVE the idea that all of these people are unaware whump fans. i truly hope they discover the entire lurking community on tumblr and join us.
secondly, I absolutely adore it when characters have to take damage in order to deal it. zenkichi from p5s, ben from tua, ughhhhh it's such a trope anon it's one of my favorite things out there. i have to see this for myself.
and third, boy do I love me an angsty boy, especially with team members or allies involved!!! he sounds like such a fun whumpee. you could toy with him so well. delicious.
seven deadly sins is now on my whump list. thank you so much for the rec! i'll have my eyes out for him 👀

Two, the Goddess of Kindness: A Drakengard 3 Analysis
WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
Yoooo. I'm back again. It's been a while since the last post. Been getting kinda busy lately. If you're new here, my name is Taro and I post memes and character analysis discussions. This is my Seven Deadly Sins/Seven Heavenly Virtues series for Drakengard 3. Be sure to check out the other analyses I did for Five, Four, and Three. Go ahead and leave a follow as well if you enjoy these discussions and would like to be notified when I post more! With that out of the way, let's get onto Two, the Goddess of Kindness.
Tumblr media
"Throughout the endless war, the kind Intoner gathered up orphans across the land and cared for them. She didn't have any parents of her own, so she wanted to help others escape the misery that she herself had known. And through it all, her one true love was always at her side. This is the story of a certain couple. A couple that strove endlessly to support each other."
INTRO TO TWO
Two is the third eldest Intoner sister and the ruler of the Land of Sands. Her personality is a stark contrast from that of most of her sisters: Five being self-indulgent and self-centered, Four being wildly insecure and judgmental, and Three being unhinged and immoral. Instead, Two has a bright and cheerful disposition and is shown to be highly empathetic and kindhearted. And she also has a knack for cooking. She genuinely loves the orphaned children under her care, and she doesn't hide the fact that she is madly in love with her disciple, Cent.
NOVELLA
I know, I know, I'm going in a different order this time around. I just feel like it made more sense to go chronologically. Anyways, the novella takes place sometime before the events of the game, as per usual. Two, Cent and the children are living in the underground shrine that One tasked them with protecting.
On this particular day, she plans to make a home-cooked meal for Cent and the children. Cent wonders about which Intoner has the best cooking, and Two describes their individual cooking styles: Five cooks odd monsters and creatures that people normally wouldn't (and probably shouldn't) consume, on top of the fact that her meals tend to be unhealthy. Four's cooking is bland because she doesn't use any seasonings in her dishes for nutritional reasons. And Three doesn't bother chopping up vegetables and leaves them whole. So she decides that One is the best cook. Cent points out the how bizarre their cooking styles are and that thought never crosses Two's mind. This shows how she sees the good in people, but it also shows her naiveté. More on that later.
This story doesn't have anything to do with the main game. In my opinion, it just further illustrates who Two is as a person; a wholesome, kind young woman that truly cares about others. From her children, to her soldiers, to the citizens of the Land of Sands, she always does her best to help others.
TWO'S PROLOGUE & MAIN GAME
I'm combining these two into one section because both stories intertwine with one another.
So the first time we see Two is in the beginning of Drakengard 3, accompanied by her other sisters. The five of them fight Zero after she declares that she wants to kill them all and take their power. At first, Two seems happy to see her. But after they begin fighting, she tells Zero that she has to pack for a trip and that she doesn't have time to fight. Her tone of voice sounded annoyed as she said this, but that's my opinion.
At some point after her confrontation with Zero, she and Cent get tasked by One to clear out some monsters. They begin in the Land of Mountains and then go to in the Land of Forests. A lot of their dialogue is lovey-dovey banter, but here's some lines that stick out to me:
"If you say it, it must be true!" -Two to Cent
"Oh cent, you're so strong! You've got power AND beauty. You're just perfect!" - Two to Cent again
As well as this conversation:
Two: They seem kind of...weak and worn out.
Cent:  Well they ARE stragglers. Most are pretty badly hurt.
Two: Maybe we should try healing them. You know? Like we did with those orphans?
Cent: I'm afraid we can't do that, Lady Two. You understand why I did that right? Why I harnessed the power of your song? Why I used it to cure the orphans and strengthen our soldiers?
Two: Because you're kind.
Cent: ...No. I did it because I wanted them to protect you. And in order to do that, they had to be healthier. Stronger. I strove to forge them into a mighty shield for you, my lady. It had nothing to do with kindness.
Two: That's not true! You're super kind! You're my gentle prince!
These lines illustrate a major flaw in her character, and that is that she idealizes Cent. She blindly believes everything that he says (which is later confirmed by Zero) and refuses to believe that Cent did something that wasn't out of the kindness of his heart. It doesn't seem like she wants to see him as a flawed or less than innocent. And that kind of blind faith and loyalty can leave someone in an undoubtedly vulnerable position. But I suppose this is how one might view their partner in their first relationship, right?
After a short rest, Cent is informed by Decadus via letter that the Cathedral City is in danger. Two is immediately worried about the children, so the couple hurriedly make their way over there. They are forced to fight their way through their own soldiers that have gone berserk, but not without Two lamenting over their situation. Cent reveals that he used the power of Two's song when he healed the children and the soldiers, which is the source of this corruption. This devastates Two and she blames herself for this tragedy, but Cent tries to reassure her that this was all his doing.
As they make their way inside the Hidden Cathedral and fight through more soldiers and skulls, Two's mental state begins to deteriorate the further they go in. By this point, Cent is really trying (and failing) to get Two to calm down.
At last, they arrive at the final chamber to find a homonculus, which is an amalgamation of the corrupted children. Two is understandably hysterical as she realizes what this creature is. Unfortunately, the couple is forced to kill the homonculus. What makes this worse is the fact that the children are still crying out from within the creature. Which means that they're still semi-sentient.
"By the end of the battle, the Intoner's spirit had been shattered. The broken shards fell deep into darkness...doomed never to return. This is the story of a couple deeply in love. The story of a foolish couple. The story...of a couple ruined beyond repair"
Took the words right out of my mouth. Having to kill the children that she so deeply cared for broke her spirit beyond repair. And she couldn't cope. This event gives context as to why Two is in such a zombified state when we next encounter her in the main game. Zero also states that you need to have a strong mind in order to keep from being corrupted by the power of song (by the flower, rather). This explains why the soldiers all lost their minds. Two shows up briefly in Branch B, but, in my opinion, this marks the end of her story.
CENT
I just want to use this section to briefly talk about Cent. He's a tough nut to crack and hard to understand. I spent quite a bit of time internally debating about whether or not his love for Two was genuine. I wasn't sure if he was pretending to love her in order to keep her happy or perhaps he just wanted to use her power. After Mikhail killed Two, Cent was awfully calm about it. I would've expected him to fly into rage after the woman he loved just got killed in front of him.
Unrelated, but he also behaves differently around others as opposed to when he's with Two. When he interacts with Zero and her party, he has this air of pompousness to him and is obnoxious. Even in his novella, he still internally strokes his own ego. However, he's rather serious and protective when he's with Two.
The way he says "I'm just a big idiot right?", to Zero after Mikhail kills Two almost makes it seem as though he's purposefully playing the fool. As for what purpose that would possibly serve is beyond me. Despite that, he remains loyal to Two in Branch B and D, so it seems as though his feelings for her are indeed genuine.
COLOR THEORY (BLUE)
This segment is where we discuss color theory as it relates to the character. Two's main color obviously being blue.
Some positive traits of blue can include, peace, tranquility, honesty, reliability, trust, and intelligence. While these traits definitely are spot on, I perceive her more as a pink or an orange personality type. A pink personality type being known for its sensitivity and empathy, while orange being known for its passion and energy.
However, some negative traits include conservatism, sadness or depression, coldness or aloofness, fragility, and predictability. The positive traits are what she showed before the tragedy, and she identifies with some of the negative ones after the tragedy.
NOVELLA IMAGE
I don't think there's too much to say about the image. Two is being surrounded by the people that she loves; she's being embraced by Cent, her lover, with her dear children close to her.
THE FINAL SONG
Last thing I wanna talk about before I get out of here and that's her dance in the Final Song. Because she's an even-numbered Intoner, her movements are symmetrical. She's the only intoner besides Zero that dances to her own theme. The choreography for her dance is beautiful and passionate. Her movements are wide and kind of wild. Her arms always end up stopping in front of her chest, her heart. No matter where she moves, she always returns to her heart. After reaching her heart, she moves her arms outwards. It's like she's giving out her love and her compassion. Her undying love for Cent. And the love that she holds for her children. She was always willing to help others in need. She's a giver rather than a taker and her dance is a reflection of that.
TLDR/AFTERTHOUGHT
Two was a kindhearted, yet naïve Intoner who was in love with her protective and suave disciple, Cent. She was loved and admired by the orphaned children that she took care of. In an attempt secure Two's safety in the future, the disciple would end up inadvertently misusing her power. The couple grossly underestimated just how much power Two's songs had and suffered greatly for it, as well as the victims that were killed in the process. Two's mind never recovered from this tragedy.
Phew! And that's a wrap, folks. Seriously, thanks to everyone that has been supporting these posts. I appreciate that you guys give me the time of day. As usual, I encourage you to leave your thoughts and opinions below. Not sure when I'll start on One's analysis, but you can be sure that I'm gonna finish all the drakengard 3 ladies. This Taro signing off, and this has been my two cents (bah-dum-tss!). Until next time! 💙

10 Shonen Anime That Disappointed Fans
Shonen anime aren’t always a smashing success with fans. Some fail to meet expectations, while others are poor adaptations of the source material.
BY CHELSEA STEELE
Shonen is a massive category, filled with countless titles, and it’s home to some of the most popular and influential series in anime history. With so many incredible franchises under its belt, it almost feels like every shonen series is an instant hit. However, plenty of titles have disappointed fans over the years.
Sometimes, a new series is hyped up so much that it fails to meet expectations. Other times, a popular series gets a poor anime adaptation that leaves the audience underwhelmed. For these reasons and many others, shonen anime aren’t always a smashing success with fans.
10 Soul Eater's Ending Is Confusing & Strays Far From The Manga
Soul Eater is one of the most unique shonen series to come out of the 2000s. Nevertheless, it's easily one of the most disappointing. It started out strong with its first season, but things started to go wrong soon after. Because the Soul Eater manga was still ongoing at the time, the anime ended up creating its own anime-only ending, and fans were not happy with it at all.
It took the series in a very confusing direction and strayed far from the source material, leaving out key moments that were critical for character growth and progression in the plot. Nowadays, the Soul Eater anime is seen as a complete disappointment, and many long for a reboot that does it justice.
9 Future Diary Turned Out To Be An Overly Edgy Story With A Messy Plot
The hype was real when Future Diary was first released, and many fans were expecting it to be the next great shonen series. Unfortunately, the hype train crashed and burned very quickly with this series, thanks to the messy and ridiculous plot, unlikable characters, and overall edginess of the story.
In fact, Future Diary became infamous for being edgy, and most can't help but cringe at the toxic relationship between Yukiteru and his yandere girlfriend, Yuno Gasai. For a series with so much promise, it really disappointed fans in almost every way and is now considered one of the worst modern shonen anime.
8 Fullmetal Alchemist's First Adaptation Doesn't Give Fans The Happy Ending They Want
By now, the first anime adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist is infamous for how disappointing it is. Though many admit it nails the feel of the series, fans just can't get behind the depressing anime-only ending and consider it too far removed from the manga.
When the manga's iconic ending came out, this only strengthened the disappointment fans felt toward the anime. Luckily, the series was rebooted, and this time, it followed the manga faithfully, from beginning to end. With the release of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, fans finally got the happy ending they longed for.
7 Seven Deadly Sins Is Ruined By Low-Quality Animation
Seven Deadly Sins is a series that fans either love or hate. Many adore the manga and consider it a masterpiece of modern shonen, filled with depth and lovable characters. However, many fans have been unable to look past its tasteless fanservice and bad humor, instead seeing the series as lowbrow and crass.
No matter fans' opinions, it's clear to everyone that the Seven Deadly Sins anime is a massive disappointment, thanks to its infamously bad animation and poorly translated subtitles. Its quality dips so low at times that it completely ruins some of the most iconic moments in the series, causing many long-time fans to give up on the anime adaptation.
6 Fairy Tail Is Just Another Generic Shonen Series
There was once a time when Fairy Tail saw incredible popularity among shonen fans. It was a promising new series that many believed could even match up to the likes of the Big Three. However, it quickly fell off, and the hype died out entirely.
While the series has a solid storyline and likable characters, it simply failed to bring anything new to the table. Many felt that Fairy Tail was just a boring and generic shonen series, and even if it wasn't bad, it just wasn't good enough.
5 One-Punch Man's Second Season Fails To Live Up To The First
With its hilarious comedy mocking all the classic tropes found in a typical shonen, One-Punch Man quickly stole the hearts of fans everywhere. It was a breath of fresh air among the usual generic stories and adventures, and its first season saw amazing success.
When Season Two was announced, fans were ecstatic. But this excitement wouldn't last, as the series' continuation failed to live up to expectations. With a dip in the animation quality and a dull storyline, much of what made the series so good in the first place was lost, disappointing most fans.
4 Yashahime Gave Fans An Underwhelming Next-Generation Story
When a beloved anime series gets a "next generation" sequel, it's often hit or miss. Unfortunately for Yashahime, it's widely considered a pale imitation of the classic 2000s series. Many were excited when it was first announced, ready to finally see a continuation of Inuyasha after its conclusion over a decade ago.
But when the sequel series was released, many were unable to connect with the new girls like they could with the original cast, and much of the series was a let-down. With its poor pacing, weak characters, and bad storyline decisions, Yashahime has failed to resonate with fans like its predecessor once did.
3 The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya Made A Grave Mistake With Its "Endless Eight" Arc
Back in the 2010s, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was one of the most popular anime around, taking the anime world by storm. But as quickly as it rose to fame, it all soon came crashing down. The series lost most of its popularity, all thanks to the infamous "Endless Eight" filler arc of Season Two.
It consists of Kyon, Haruhi, and the rest of the gang repeating the same summer vacation over and over, for a span of eight episodes. Many gave up long before this monotonous arc could end, but even those who stuck it out eventually lost interest in the series afterward. With just this one arc, the Haruhi Suzumiya empire crumbled, and just about everyone came to despise the series.
2 The Promised Neverland Ruined Its Momentum With A Horrible Second Season
The Promised Neverland saw immediate success among fans, and it was poised to be the next modern classic. However, that all changed with its disappointing second season. The series had been very faithful to the manga up until this point.
However, Season Two of The Promised Neverland suddenly took a turn for the worst. It left out many major arcs and characters, cutting out much of the lore that made the manga so beloved. Instead, it gave fans a hurried and flat conclusion that failed to satisfy fans despite its happy ending.
1 Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Fails To Live Up To Naruto's Legacy
When Naruto finally came to an end back in 2017, it was huge news. Though fans were sad to see it go, many were hyped over the oncoming sequel series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The idea of the original cast settling down and starting families sounded great. Unfortunately, it failed to live up to fans' expectations.
Boruto and the gang turned out to be pretty dull compared to their parents, and they were even bratty and annoying at times. Many fans have since struggled to get invested in their story, and even the original characters have lost their former appeal. While in recent years, Boruto has started to see some improvements, many are still disappointed in the way it's played out and have all but lost interest.

Is seven deadly sins good? I remember that i watched the first season and liked it but i stopped and idr why. Should i get back into it?
YES oh my god yes. It’s definitely one of my all time favorites for sure. It’s one of the few more recent series where I like the dub as much as the sub too, so you can watch either.
There’s SO many characters that you can get attached to like immediately and it’s a perfect blend of action, comedy and romance. I will say tho the third (fourth? Idk how Netflix labels them) season is. Well it’s fine but the animation is absolutely terrible lol so I’d really just recommend watching the first three seasons and switching to the manga after if you want to finish it from there. Idk if the studio was really rushed or what but the quality just takes a nosedive so jfjdjdn
Anyway yes definitely watch it :D It’s fantastic I promise
