you know, farscape, more than any other older sci fi that I've seen, has been really good at just not having a whole lot of stinkers.

like I say this as a Star Trek fan... there are plenty of bad and boring Star Trek episodes. there are plenty of really bad Babylon Five episodes.

the entirety of the final season of Battlestar Galactica is a train wreck.

but farscape I can only think of two episodes I genuinely haven't liked, as opposed to a handful that were silly but at least fun character wise.

and that's the episode where Crichton is in a simulation because it tells you right away it's nonsense by killing off rygel, and then it painfully drags itself out and makes you wait 40 minutes to reveal something you already know, which is that it's fake. Plus it's dumb to have Aeryn and him hook up only to reveal it's fake. I already hate will they won't they. a fake simulation that teases it but I know it's bullshit right from the beginning...bad.

really boring and a huge waste of time.

the other one I hate is the one with neanderthal Crichton. god I hate neanderthal episodes.

but I'm deep into season 2, and I think only having two episodes I genuinely did not enjoy is pretty good.

it's stellar actually.

also one of the worst things about older sci fi is that for a lot of them you have to really wait for it to get going and for the characters to get into their groove.

farscape really did it faster than any other sci fi I've watched. I think I warmed up to the universe and its characters by like... episode 3? which is very fast.

even my favorite show, ds9, doesn't get going that fast.

so I'm really enjoying farscape, still.

I love those alien freaks.

Fate of Lennier?

Hi everyone,

I heard somewhere that the canon story was supposed to be that Lennier died in the Telepath War. Does anyone know the source for this, or what may have happened? I don't understand how he could have gotten mixed up in a war that had absolutely nothing to do with him or his people, let alone gotten killed in that conflict. Did he get involved because he became an Anla'Shok? Because if so, how were THEY involved in the war? This wasn't their war either!

Is this story correct? Does anyone know what JMS was planning here? Thanks!

Prehensile Tentacles (Centauri)

A few male Centauri take the time and patience to learn how to grasp small objects with their tentacle-like appendages. This takes a great deal of practice to be of any practicle use beyond sexual activity, but some Centauri find great value in having additional manipulative organs.

Prerequisites: Must be male

Benefit: By loosening your clothes, you can extend the two primary tentacles from your torso, up to a range of 5 feet. They can be used to grip or stick to small objects of up to 1 pound in weight. Fine manipulation of the object (such as pulling the trigger of a small weapon) is not possible, but you can, for example, flick switches or pull objects closer to you. When using these tentacles, you gain a +2 bonus to Subterfuge checks when using Sleight of Hand. You also gain a +4 bonus to any checks during sex with a female Centauri...
