(green // blue means two main options, red means i need to think about it more)
The main details I'm figuring out right now are
does Celebrimbor still die at Eregion - I don't think he's getting captured/tortured, but he could still die in the battle. On the other hand, he could probably survive by using Narya & Lomion using Nenya, but that would definitely have repercussions further down the line
how does Idril's deal work - I'm currently thinking of Idril exchanging the location of Gondolin for her family's guaranteed safety, because it seems in character for Reverse Idril? But on the other hand, even if I limit it to immediate family at the time of the oath (tuor, turgon, earendil) then idk where turgon dies? Maybe Maglor can kill him but that seems kind of random
where and how does Turgon die
how does Prince Elrond's character even work
how does Numenor still fall when factoring in Prince Elrond - I'm thinking that the morgoth death cult gained enough traction during the time sauron was there that even after Elrond kicks him out, the cult still sticks around and reemerges later? The Fall still happens, but they never go to attack valinor and there's a good deal more Faithful (maybe 40-60%?)

Description:
Fresh out of West Point, John Howard arrived for his first tour in Vietnam in 1965, the first full year of escalation when U.S. troop levels increased to 184,000 from 23,000 the year before. When he returned for a second tour in 1972, troop strength stood at 24,000 and would dwindle to a mere 50 the following year. He thus participated in the very early and very late stages of American military involvement in the Vietnam War. His two tours—one as a platoon commander and member of an elite counterguerrilla force, the second as a senior advisor to the South Vietnamese—provide a fascinating lens through which to view not only one soldier’s experience in Vietnam, but also the country’s. **
Review:
Let me first say that I did enjoy this book - to a degree. That's why it gets 4 stars. But it's important to know that this is not a great book, which with the authors experiences, it really could have been.
One of the biggest deficiencies is that he spends more time telling than showing. Good books of this genre give you a first hand view of what happened and what someone experienced. This book is very light on that, especially during his 1965 tour. It gets better with his Korean and Advisor experiences later on, but only just. Instead you get a lot of history of Vietnam, a lot of history of what happened, who went where, what they did. It's all very strategic and 1000 foot level when what this book is supposed to be is very in the weeds at the 1 foot personal experience level. This is a man who participated in a lot of intense operations, worked with incredible people like Foley and Hackworth, and was both a part of ABU and Tiger Recon with the 101st. But you never really get a feel for what it was like to be a member of either. You never get to experience a recon mission, though he was a part of many. You just know that x unit moved to y place, and then this is what happened / this was the outcome.
You get a good overview of the battles, the war, and even a few of the people, but very little else from his time with the 101st.
His time in Korea is a bit better and gives you a good understanding of what happened and some incidents and the people. Also his time as an Advisor is also more personal as well. So maybe it's just a memory thing and things from 72 are easily recalled vs 65.
One thing you'll notice is a lot of ring knocking and naming of generals... so many generals. So just... be prepared for that.
Overall though, a decent book... he needs to work on the tell vs show more than anything. Up next, going to read Foley's Special Men. I always loved Foley's fictional writing, so I have high hopes for his book about his time with Tiger Recon and other units. I have a feeling it's going to be a good compliment to this book.

Hydraulic Attachments for Demolition Market Growing at a CAGR of 5.6% from 2024 to 2033
The hydraulic attachments for demolition market size was valued at $4.1 billion in 2023, and is estimated to reach $7.1 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 5.6% from 2024 to 2033.
A hydraulic attachment for demolition is a construction machine that attaches a powerful breaker/hammer, crusher/shear, pulverizer, grapple, or other attachments to an excavator to dismantle hard rocks and structures or earth moving application. It is driven by the excavator's auxiliary hydraulic system, equipped with a foot valve.

Demand for hydraulic attachments for demolitions for old construction is increasing due to the growth of infrastructure, residential, and commercial facilities. In addition, increasing population and indirectly rising demand for roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels are expected to drive the hydraulic attachments for demolitions market during the forecast period.
In addition, high productiveness, high effect performance and energy recovery can increase output in the shift, and reduced power and gas intake are just some of the advantages of hydraulic attachments for demolitions driving the growth of the hydraulic attachments for demolition market. Therefore, key market players are focusing on manufacturing superior hydraulic attachments for demolitions for building and mining applications.
For example, in August 2023, Jiangtu's launched innovative multipurpose grapple that represents a breakthrough in integrating multiple functions into a single machine. This versatile equipment incorporates various claws that can be easily selected and interchanged based on diverse working conditions, offering a flexible and cost-effective solution.
In addition, in August 2021, Caterpillar launched a new generation of primary and secondary pulverizer attachments for use on excavators from 18 tons to 50 tons. The new Cat pulverizer line includes three rotatable primary models, the P318, P324 and P332—which feature 360-degree rotation, and three fixed secondary models, the P218, P224, and P232.

Expansion in the mining sector in the regions such as Asia-Pacific, North America, and others notably contribute toward the growth of the global market. Moreover, government investment in infrastructure development are rising which is expected to fuel the growth of the hydraulic attachments for demolitions market.
For example, in 2022-2023 the National Highways Authority of India has announced plan to build 25,000 km of national highways at a pace of 50 km each day. Therefore, all such instances are expected to drive the growth of the Asia-Pacific hydraulic attachments for demolition market. However, shortage of skilled officials and declining new construction projects are the factors expected to hinder the market growth.

Kelvin Miranda leads Idara Aesthetics’ opening at Ayala Cloverleaf
By: Rodel Fernando
“It’s truly inspiring to see my dream when i was in college come to fruition. I was thinking ever since na eto ay sanctuary where individuals can not only enhance their physical appearance but also find confidence, self-acceptance, and an oasis of self-care.
“This will be an exciting journey as an aesthetic owner for this will be filled with new growth, learning, and fulfillment.”

“MOON-BOUND APOLLO 8 --Separated from the McDonnell Douglas-built S-IVB rocket (foreground), Apollo 8, with its crew of three astronauts, speeds toward moon and historic first lunar fly-around. When astronauts splash down in the Pacific Ocean, they will have flown 230,000 miles from earth (370,150 km) and orbited the moon 10 times. As third stage of Saturn V launch vehicle, S-IVB will fire for 2.6 minutes to propel Apollo 8 into parking orbit. Following orbital checkout of rocket and spacecraft, S-IVB will restart and propel Apollo 8 into translunar trajectory, as shown in artist’s rendering. McDonnel Douglas Astronautics Company, a division of McDonnell Douglas Corporation, builds the S-IVB for National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Marshall Space Flight Center.”
