Initial opinions on the suggestions I was given for songs that feel like Twin Peaks & Laura Palmer (including some I was suggested on Instagram) Under a read more because it ended up being quite long
Les Revenants Soundtrack album - Mogwai  I did sort of skip through each track since this was an entire album suggested, but I agree it sounds like Twin Peaks. Like the town's grief after Laura's death. Will definitely be giving this album a proper listen later because I really like what I heard.
Otterley - Cocteau Twins I'm already a massive Cocteau Twins fan tbh. And I totally see the Twin Peaks vibes here! It's Agent Cooper having dreams about the case. It's owls flying at you in mysterious caves.
Midnight Cowboy - Faith no More This is so Cooper-core. And the brighter side of Twin Peaks in general. Love it.
Painless Steel - Bohren & der Club of Gore Oh I completely hear it tbh! It's giving traffic light in the wind at night. It's giving Twin Peaks soundtrack. The low hum sounds right out of Laura's theme, but then it also gets a bit jazzy like the rest of the soundtrack. Really like this one
On The Sea - Beach House I really enjoyed it. The lyrics definitely fit Laura's story.
A Warm Place- Nine Inch Nails Oh my god I love it. Gorgeous. AAAAAAAGHHH
La Mer - Nine Inch Nails Ngl I had no idea Nine Inch Nails made music like this and I'm really loving it??? It's so good!! And definitely get the Twin Peaks vibe with this, moving from beautiful to chaotic.
Ghosts I - 1 - Nine Inch Nails  Well I'm definitely going to start listening to Nine Inch Nails. And yeah, it absolutely gives a Laura & Black Lodge vibe to me. Like, all the darkness of Twin Peaks.
An Angel Held me Like a Child - Yeule Yeule can play at The Roadhouse like a modern Julee Cruise. It reminds me of Laura's happy ending getting her angel. Or when she's created by Dido in The Return.
Laura - Bat for Lashes I see the connection to Laura with the lyrics. I'm not sure it feels like her to me though. But maybe I'm wrong because two separate people suggested this one
Ptolemaea - Ethel Cain Very black lodge. This is what they're listening to in the room above the convenience store. Sounds like Laura's heartache. I also love it (although the outro is kind of long)
Laura Palmer’s theme - Xiu xiu Kind of cheating imo since it's a cover of a track off the soundtrack but I did like it. Nothing beats the original one though, Angelo Badalamenti is on another level and you can't improve on perfection.
Caroline - Concrete Blonde Makes me want to just get on my bike and go with this playing. Very 'giving a little lap dance in the Fat Trout trailer park' (I may have been influenced by the music video)
Redlights - Salem I'm already a huge Salem fan so I already know this track well and love it. Definitely get the Twin Peaks feeling from a lot of Salem's tracks, though I think Asia fits the vibe the most personally.
Better Off Alone - Salem Another track I already love. And I very much agree it has that feeling. It's Laura Palmer high out of her mind having a breakdown at James before running away. It's the darkness of the Lodge. It's dopplegangers and pain. Which is kind of funny when you remember what it's a remix of
Cocteau Twins Like I mentioned, I'm already a big Cocteau Twins fan and agree that most of their stuff feels very Twin Peaks! Or just Lynchian in general.
Fast moving cars - Carla Del Forno I totally get that Twin Peaks vibe from this one too. I'm running out of things to say lol. But yeah I like it and whoever suggested it is right.
Sarah Missing - Should This is so Bobby and Shelly. This is exactly what their romance sounds like and you can't convince me otherwise. I like it!
Rough Song - Beach House 30 seconds in and I love it, I love the bright sound Beach House have & will def be listening to more of them. The lyrics here are very fitting of Laura's story and the song itself sounds like Twin Peaks as a whole and very Laura.
Shadow - Chromatics I mean it's literally a song on the show. I would argue it's the song of The Return, much like Falling the song of the original show. Of course it sounds like Twin Peaks, it is Twin Peaks The Return!! And it's great
You Wish You Were Red - Trailer Trash Tracy I could see them playing at The Roadhouse! I feel like I've heard this song before but idk if I have. Feels like Cooper's journey?
I'm so glad for all these suggestions, I def have some new music I'm gonna listen to more!!
Also I know my writing is cringe as hell but you know what they say, I am cringe but I am free ;) I wasn't expecting to write as much as I did lmao

I have been trying to understand why I was so disappointed with the Supernatural finale. After all, being a writer myself, I wouldn’t like anyone telling me how to write the climax to my story, and therefore, I more than the average viewer should have been able to respect the freedom of the writers and showrunners to take their story to what they believed to be the right conclusion.
The problem, I realized is that every story has a structure that it has to follow to get it to make sense, even the ones that are not overtly formulaic.
So I looked at a few beloved older shows that I watched through the seasons and understand what made their endings more palatable.
The Mentalist – Like supernatural, The Mentalist is not a show about romance; it is a police procedural show, with a murder solved by the team in each episode, and more importantly it is about Jane’s obsession and quest for revenge from the serial killer Red John and finally the journey towards Jane’s catharsis. But as the characters evolved, Jane and Lisbon’s equation changed from friendship to something more, very organically I would say, and the show ends with them together and even expecting a baby – a satisfying happy ending that works thanks to not just Jane’s character growth but Lisbon’s as well.
House MD – Again, not a show about romance or even friendships. It’s a hospital show and a ‘medical procedural’, that unlike Grey’s Anatomy and similar shows, is almost fully focused on the titular character. The showrunners have spoken about how House and Wilson were inspired by Conan Doyle’s Holmes and Watson. During all the ups and downs over the seasons, their friendship remains the heart of the series, and while the pairing was wildly popular in the fandom, with slash fiction being written prolifically even now, ten years after the show ended, the showrunners chose to keep the relationship platonic. As the characters were introduced as canonically straight, the writers probably did not dare take a wild leap to sexual intimacy on the show, despite the immense popularity of the pairing. However, we see the characters falling out and getting back together, thereby strengthening their bond, and the protagonist, a self-professed selfish and ‘bastard’ character, giving up on everything that meant anything to him, and driving off into the sunset with his best friend aka the person who is most important to him, again satisfying though bittersweet.
Elementary – Yet another police procedural. Most people read Sherlock and Joan’s relationship as platonic, a change from the shipping heavy pairings. Here too, the show ends with the two friends taking steps to becoming platonic-life partners after all the turmoil and physical dangers they faced over the series.
Now, in Supernatural, the story demanded a happy or at least a bittersweet ending. Why? Because of the death, resurrection, pain, literal hellfire, loss of loved ones that Sam and Dean went through, only a happy ending makes sense, and heaven, that is canonically in the control of manipulative angels is not a happy ending at all, unlike say ‘The Good Place’.
If I were to take the story to its logical conclusion, the finale would have both brothers taking the call to be semi-retired. Sam and Eileen would probably set up a Hunters Headquarters in the Men of Letters bunker. Dean would either start a Roadhouse-style bar named after Ellen and Jo or an Auto restoration business for classic cars named after Bobby. A full blown romantic relationship between Dean and Cas wouldn’t work so late in the game. So, again a platonic life partner setup, that’s open for interpretation, with Dean, Cas and Jack buying a farm where Claire and the rest of the found family frequently visit them.
So the brothers would find stability and “the peace when you’re done” that we were promised. Dean and Cas, as both soldiers with a fair amount of PTSD, would help each other on the path to healing. Sam would never get out of hunting as he wanted at the start, but a semi-retired approach would give that to him partially, and let him indulge in research that makes sense for his academic type personality.
The final shot would be of the brothers in the backyard of dean’s farm, drinking beer, finally at peace, not just with the world, but with each other, as having their own support system in the form of found family, and their own space would let them get over the annoyance of constantly living in each other’s pockets, forever on the road, with no control over their destiny and mistrustful of each other. We were so robbed of this – a logical, meaningful bittersweet ending that made sense for these beloved characters.

On The Roadhouse Reboot...
So, it's shit. BUT... It's frustrating shit because it has its moments of what it should have settled for w/ 30 minutes chopped off the runtime. This should have been a great cheesy, popcorn, fighting romp. But the screen time is padded with too much dilly-dallying around dialogue, and an unnecessary chemistry-free romantic subplot. It's total male gaze, in that she has no chemistry but is what guys watching a movie like this look for, in looks and how she's written. This should have been just Gyllenhaal Mr. Rogering his way through fight scenes, building up the bonds with the people employed at that bar, maybe a boat-fixing montage with the characters from the bar, and... I'd say, four good fights. The romance, the bookstore people, and all the back-and-forth with the dumb henchman, son of the boss could have easily been cut and actually been a decent flick. Conor McGregor was a highlight, because of his funny-ass facial expression, terrible acting, and hilarious buff-guy walk. You know that walk when big muscly guys have to walk around themselves? It and the grin just had me cackling. Anyway, for me this was the best scene, if only it had maintained this momentum.
youtube
That said, given how high the views were on this, maybe the sequel will course correct. I get that the idiots on top only care about IP thus calling it "Roadhouse" but honestly Jake in this with the correction and it being renamed, would have rocked anyway IMO.
#ThisIsNotaRec unless you like bad movies w/ a redeeming scene or two.
Man, it could have been a contender.

Movie Rambles:
I watched both Road house movies over the weekend. Starting with the jake gyllenhaal(2024) one. Which Im glad i did it that way. I wanted to go in with as little expectations as possible and make up my own mind.
The 2024 was a lot of fun, Jake played a very fun action movie lead, it was cool seeing him in that kinda role and I think his performance was solid.
I had some good laughs, the fight scenes were cool but ultimately I felt end half of the movie was pretty weak. Some things felt weridly uncharacteristic and the story beats the movie set up earlier didn't have the emotional leverage to pull it off.
The romance sublot also felt very forced and the two leads did not have any chemistry what so ever, and the main romance just came off as mean instead of playfully snarking back at his witty and aloof charm.
so overall, fun but pretty forgettable.
the 1989 version on the other hand? Excellent.
It was like enjoying an extra delightful melodramatic 1980's romance novel out of your moms collection that you definitely should not have been reading at your age.
I can only describe that the 2024 version was like roadhouse from a completely different timeline. It was kind a fascinating experiment in seeing two movies have the same concept for a plot and have very different approaches.
The new movie had 14 additional minutes and managed to tell less of a story.
They stripped out an important character and combined, what was literally a whole community in the 1989 version, into a singular character that doesn't get much depth or development.
Then stripped out a whole character in the new one that turns out to be a KEY EMOTIONAL TIPPING POINT FOR THE PROTAGONIST in the original.
Which made it click in my head why the Protagonists more serious and dramatic actions felt believable in the 1989 one, and not the 2024 one. The 2024 one had no weight to justify the actions.
Instead of a rough and tumble bar that, that, as it was looked after and cared for became bright and lively again. Watching even the location get it's own story development, the bar in the 2024 one was just posh from the get go, it had no personality and felt static.
I did appreciate how it was designed to mirror a MMA Fighting ring. That was a nice touch.
the 1989 set up it's story beats so well, everything flowed easily and the emotional weight of certain actions actually packed a punch.
Overall, 1989 Roadhouse was a lot of fun and worth watching.

It doesn't actually mean anything but it is slightly amusing to me that, as far as I can tell, Dean Winchester mentions Patrick Swayze movies four different times throughout Supernatural's run, and almost every time it's the romance movie Ghost, except for the time it's the other romance movie Dirty Dancing. Meanwhile, Sam mentions one and it's cheesy action movie Roadhouse.

the dudes of hallmark in no particular order
Tyler Hynes - You actually get two for the price of one, because when he shaves I literally think he’s a different person than when he has a beard. Throw in scruff and that’s three! My Noteworthy: Roadhouse Romance because it was actually really cute and that song was stuck in my head for a thousand years I even bought it. And It’s Christmas, Eve because it is proof that even if Niall Matter and Tyler Hynes are two different people Tyler Hynes is still a third when he shaves.
Niall Matter - … he is a different person these are two different dudes shit this list is off to a bad start My noteworthy: Christmas at Dollywood (because Dollywood) or Country at Heart
Cameron Mathison - Gets extra points because he has an interesting voice and despite being a fairly standard 6’2” he always looks like he’s towering over his love interest. Actually Danica McKellar is just really short in the Valentine botany one but it’s a cute look. My noteworthy: Very, Very Valentine and the Murder She Baked series
Brennan Elliot - I actually didn’t realize how many of these he’s actually been in until I pulled up IMDB and I’ve watched at least 5 of those with him in it, sorry dude. Gets bonus points because in a channel known for painfully cringe-looking movie posters, his are really really painful looking. My Noteworthy: The Perfect Pairing, and Christmas in Vienna(YEAH THAT’S HIM TOO! I KNOW, RIGHT?)
Kristoffer Polaha - 10/10 no notes, love his voice. Even my gay ass would follow him into 5,000 stupid-ass plots with limited complaints. Gets bonus points for being simply “Handsome Man” in the cringe-fest that was WW84. My Noteworthy: Double Holiday which is fantastic, and Dickens of a Holiday! Because it has acting within acting and I like that shit.
Kavan Smith - Look, I would die for Lee Coulter and everyone knows that, so every Hallmark movie he’s in gets an automatic watch from me because telling apart actors and characters is not my strength. My Noteworthy: Other than When Calls the heart? how about The Perfect Bride and Love on the Menu
Ryan Paevey - In addition to probably being shirtless in Hallmark movies the most out of any of these guys, he’s also one of the best actors of the bunch. Unfortunately, you don’t notice that because he is ridiculously soap opera handsome. My Noteworthy: A Timeless Christmas is actually fantastic and Don’t Go Breaking my Heart for something non-seasonal
Andrew Walker - he has been in so many of these but my Dad still refers to him as “Billy Hamilton” because of When Calls the Heart and, to be honest: same. My Noteworthy: My Christmas Family Tree because it was a fucking ROLLER COASTER and Christmas on My Mind sorry guys he does a lot of the Christmas ones so not many non-seasonal options.
Luke MacFarlane - I feel like the costume department must have to spend a LOT of time on finding clothes that don’t emphasize those fucking ARMS since most of his roles for Hallmark involve him employing soft sweaters and heart eyes and I Respect that and for the love of god if we don’t get a Queer Hallmark movie with him I will riot. My Noteworthy: The Birthday Wish and Just Add Romance
Paul Campbell - is NOT the lawyer from The Rookie / Iceman from the X-Men movies but sure does look like him. The Santa Heist movie was fun, but always going to be “he’s supposed to be a mechanic but he’s wearing fucking boat shoes in the garage” guy. My Noteworthy: The Santa Stakeout and Wedding Every Weekend
Victor Webster - I don’t have anything witty to say because I thought he was in the one where he’s a widower and there’s a woman with amnesia, but he’s actually in the other one where he’s a widower and there’s a woman with amnesia, so… My Noteworthy: The Wedding Veil Legacy and Five Star Christmas
Jesse Metcalfe - Gets extra points for Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries series because those are great, and extra points because I too suffered from Supernatural Brainrot for a long time but loses points for going over to GAC because we watched that weird music therapy valentines day one and they made him look shiny in a bad way. My Noteworthy: Christmas under the Stars was freaking adorable, and Christmas Next Door
Marcus Rosner - Gets bonus points because he has such a villain face but he keeps trying! Any time he gets a romantic lead I’m actually pretty excited for him. My Noteworthy: Romance to the Rescue and Love on Harbor Island because both of those also feature dogs even though neither of those movies really hits my top 25.
Wes Brown - is also a different person than Tyler Hynes and Niall Matter and I totally knew that (may be a little faceblind like my mom but it’s okay) My Noteworthy: Every Time a Bell Rings and A Nashville Christmas Carol where he looks like a different person but that’s okay
Kevin McGarry - Really hitting his stride but does have a bad habit of playing the first part of the movie where the leads don’t like each other and are a little petty a little too well that sometimes he doesn’t quite win me over in the end. My Noteworthy: Winter Castle and The Wedding Veil because of that Boston Accent I simply cannot get over.
Christopher Russell -  Hits the niche that Greyston Holt left behind when he started getting other work though not quite as gravely. Does tend to be in the movies where we laugh out loud the most. My Noteworthy: Warming up to Love and Kite Festival of Love if only because 0 thought was put into that movie title and I think that’s wonderful. Bonus for being Sterling Masters in The Mistletoe Secret because that kind of role is hilarious and I love it.
EDIT TO ADD Will Kemp because I forgot about the precious accent boy who is so talented that I 100% believed he actually knew complex ballet and intricate chocolate-preparing techniques. My Noteworthy: Love, Romance, and Chocolate and The Christmas Waltz. I’m actually inordinately excited for the one coming up this year but I’m also a fan of Reshma Shetty so that could explain it.

Romancing myself: I am treating myself to a nice dinner for the first time this vacation!! Been trying to save money for gifts and trips around here so I did some grocery shopping (I did order a meal on a meal app at some point but couldn’t eat all of it due to nausea) on Saturday to save on food/meals.
My bro helped me pick this place out.
I feel pretty glamorous and confident here - it’s a nice roadhouse full of Christmas lights - I love Christmas lights, (I don’t celebrate but grew up in the states) they’re so romantic.
I am still sad but I’m also happy too. Just trying to be present and also… churning my brain to keep processing and attempting to make the best out of my reality.
I am very excited about the food I ordered!!!!!

The poor Roselands got elected as the white trash Depression Riverblossom family.
Cyd, uneducated despite his Knowledge aspiration because life be like that, moved in aiming to make his living farming, fishing, breeding dogs, and starting a toy store, which he can do as soon as he has a gold badge and the capital to buy a lot.
Well, making toys costs money. Danny and Sarah did their best to help him with the dog breeding but he never had time to befriend a mate for Porthos (buy a dog? Are you crazy?). Farming is not very lucrative when you've got to eat part of your harvest and the growing season is so short, Riverblossom Hills being Winter/Spring/Fall/Winter and greenhouses not being cheap. Biology beats brains and he and his wife LaShawn don't have the education for effective birth control, but dating is such a sure way to cheer themselves up...
Rather than add risky woohoo when I'm only going to want it for some neighborhoods, I have a 20-sided die and sliding odds on whether or not to try for baby. If a parent has a baby want, I just try. If at least half a couple is educated and they have access and privacy to use mechanical devices like rubbers and diaphragms, they try for baby on a roll of 20. The odds might change for married couples with no reason to be reluctant to have a baby, such as poverty or a baby fear or a wife with career ambitions that strike me as feasible. Lack of education, access, or privacy lower the required number 5% each, with access and privacy varying with circumstances. Peter Ottomas fully intends to be faithful to his wife and doesn't carry a rubber around; if he strays in a photo booth with another Romance playable I took out looking for a new lover, she almost certainly left the house with a diaphragm already inserted or in her purse, but if circumstances overcame an uneducated Popularity sim and Peter, she'd have to count days in her head while distracted and a roll of five or better would be a try for baby.
It's a long way to town, you have to ask the teen cashier for the little boxes behind the counter and you know she's gossiping, Cyd and LaShawn have a few misconceptions about how things work (look, even Simone de Beauvoir thought douches were effective, okay?), and they've got three kids. Gordon is a big help with the farm, the fishing, and the dogs these days. Isabel is old enough to help her mother now. Little Petunia will get there. And everybody's going to be too tired for woohoo, because in addition to farming, fishing, school, housework, dogs, and toymaking they need more room in the house and will have to build in spring and fall.
Things got less crowded after Danny and Sarah died on the same day, leaving Porthos and the last of the puppies, Boots. It's been awhile since Cyd fooled with teaching Porthos tricks, but the loss of the big dogs and the lack of cash to make toys with has him doing it again. He's made friends with David Ottomas, who's hired him to tend bar at the Roadhouse to make ends meet.
Any homework that gets buried in the yard will stay buried till thaw, though. Gordon and Isabel have Responsibilities.

Not alternate reality Dean, alternate universe John and Mary and friends. Jensen loves the brothers part of Supernatural, he talks about that more than anything else even at NYCC for The Winchesters so it isn’t crazy to think Sam will be a part of the prequel in an important way.
HOW ARE THEY GOING TO FIND THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS PARENTS BY GOING TO THE PARENTS OF SOMEONE ELSE, YOU MENTAL INCOMPETENT
I REPEAT: IF JENSEN WANTED A BROTHERS SHOW HE'D HAVE MADE A BROTHERS SHOW
FUCKING COPE MAN
the motherfucker even went out of his way, it started in a timeline they could use sam then moved to one they couldn't (beyond special key events, cameos, Just Like Everyone Else). Not the other way around. You have an inside out idea of what Jensen's priorities are here. Just pay the fuck attention.
do you guys EVER stop and think "will this make me sound as stupid as an inanimate object, or perhaps a slug?" before sending this shit to imagine up a world where your hopes and dreams aren't crushed?
go back to ao3 where jensen declares you belong.
The reason it's "different" is because it's showing you idiots what unreliable narrator is, and the importance of Untold Stories. Parts Chuck the Old TV God didn't like, said ewww, gross, romance to Amara. It's about everyone being important.
Trying to focus on Sam in all of this and Sam alone is the most bass ackwards upside down lost-ass media-blind headass unfounded take. like con fucking gratulations, you've efficiently managed to try to read this show the exact opposite to the intent of its entire ending, moral and point, great work.
No matter how many anon boxes you cry into, to try to reaffirm your own obviously rattled confidence, this isn't about Sam. Jared said he was fine with Sam's ending. Jensen wasn't. Others weren't. Everyone else wasn't.
This isn't about Sam. It's about the roadhouse ending Jensen MADE the list for that he was denied. It's about family. It's about found family. It's about the many confusing sides of love. About our inner demons, how people become monsters, how Dean saved himself when someone learned to love him, and about the mutual realization Jensen and Dean had in the same moment. Because IN THAT MOMENT he would have X, but he has another view since The Next Shot. That he hasn't told you all.
But I have. And did before he ever said that. And cited that exact moment long before Jensen ever breathed it on stage and left yall squawking it down. It's never going to be about Sam, no matter how much you wail. Sam will show up. Sam is part of the family. That's what you're getting, beyond your found family, your reunions and your gay ass Destiel deep dish, so you better start coping now.

These are just quick mockups but ya’ll... I am doing a THING. Yes, RPGMaker MZ is the base. The working title is “Beetlejuice: Dead Over Heels”. It’s going to be a combination RPG/Farming/Crafting/Dating/School Sim. You play as Lydia, who is now a 21 year-old college student attending Peaceful Pines Community College. The player’s part of the story opens with Lydia finding out about a photography competition taking place at her college. She’s thrilled at the prospect of winning the first prize- a scholarship to the best art school in Connecticut. Until she discovers that Claire Brewster, who is becoming popular online for her fashion photography, has decided to compete. The photo with the most votes wins and Lydia is worried that Claire will take the first prize. So she resolves to go to the Neitherworld to find the freakiest, rarest bug to take a photo of for her entry. On her way home though, she is temporarily slowed down for a tutorial quest involving Old Spooky at a run-down park near Miss Shannon’s School for Girls (the park I posted here that I need to scale down for the sprites. Old Spooky hasn’t really been drawn in but he is represented by a tree that loosely looks like him here.). In this quest, she cheers up Old Spooky and is taught the basics of battling... and the reward is that now she can always come to Old Spooky and ask him what someone is feeling about her and how she can improve that relationship.
Anyway, when she gets home, Beetlejuice shows up in her vanity mirror a nervous wreck because Mayor Maynot has just announced on Neitherworld television that if he’s elected, he will rub out Beetlejuice and everyone in the TV audience really loved it. He pleads with Lydia to try to get her to come to the Neitherworld and run against Mayor Maynot to stop him from doing this and she reluctantly agrees- might as well run for Mayor while looking for the insect to photograph. After they’ve been talking for a minute in BJ’s Roadhouse living room, someone knocks at the door. Beetlejuice goes to open it and- surprise- it’s Donnyjuice, who has just announced his candidacy  for the Mayor’s office. Beetlejuice has no faith that Donny could win and starts to think all is lost now. But Lydia, happy to not have to run for the Mayor’s office herself, says that she and Beetlejuice would be glad to help him win- that they can make him a great campaign that’s sure to land him in office and stop Mayor Maynot, although that’s not why Donny decided to run. As it turns out, he just wants to run because someone told him it would be easier to make the Neitherworld a nicer place if he was Mayor. Beetlejuice, who is still not entirely convinced his brother can win, even if he has Lydia for her amazing campaign skills, begins to calm down but only a little. Donny asks what he should try to do first and Lydia suggests handing out buttons but Donny has none. So Lydia agrees to make him some to hand out but first, she says she needs the crafting recipe and Beetlejuice suggests asking the Monster Across the Street, who has been doing a lot of crafting himself. But when they get to Monster’s house, it’s deserted and there’s a note on the door from Monster that reads: “If’n ya’ll need me fer anythin’, jes’ look fer me at mah new ranch on the outskirts o’ town. - Monster”. So begins Lydia’s quests to find her insect and to save Beetlejuice’s neck...
I might add that this game will have two versions available to play through- SFW and NSFW. SFW will lock the adult rated postgame content away from the player, of course. But NSFW is gonna have some gooooood stuff in store for the adult players who decide to let Lydia get max romance with the characters that allow that. >:)

Posting Date: August 22
Summary: After moving away from their life at Sioux Falls, Jody and her daughter, Alex, make their way to Lawrence, where they find a different kind of family than they ever thought they could ever become, they find friends and a community that would last for a lifetime.
Keep reading for an short excerpt
Seemingly out of nowhere, a swirl of incoherent thought is investing her brain, making her head swim so hard that her eyes couldn’t focus on the letters down on the page she’s been reading anymore. She starts over. Stubbornly tracing the words all the way from the top again. It doesn’t help. The thoughts are getting louder, more obnoxious. She couldn’t concentrate. After a while, Jody deems that continuing reading while her mind is thoroughly occupied is a worthless endeavor. She closes the book then she goes to return it to its place before going back to sit in silence again. Still adamant about her so far unsuccessful attempt to not think about anything. Not the emptiness that was slowly, but without doubt, starting to crawl its way into her mind. Shaking the relatively new peace Jody has been trying to keep as her, and Alex’s, new normal. Not the beautiful stranger, with dancing deep eyes, and a smile that was as sweet as anything. If not even better. Not to think about how romance was the furthest thing from her mind for so long now that she doesn’t quite know if she still had it in her anymore. And not whole she still doesn’t feel like she truly belongs, hasn’t felt that for years now, not to a place, never to a house. Or a city or a town. Not how she was afraid that the move they just made, uprooting their whole lives and transferring it to somewhere new, wouldn't be the change their small family needed in the long run. Not about how she still sometimes feels uncertain if she is doing the right thing for Alex’s well-being. If her being Alex’s one adult influence is the right thing for the kid. If that would make Alex even unconsciously turn slowly into a miniature copy of Jody. if she would feel or think that she has to be like Jody, and exactly like Jody to survive. Not about how she’s been constantly terrified that her daughter will never let herself learn how to live. Not just seek survival. Closing her eyes, Jody sighs. Taking a long breath in and then releasing it slowly in a practiced rhythm. Then she did it again. And again until the slow heat of anxiety that was beginning to burn her nerves just now all but died down. With her mood completely shifted, she closes her eyes trying to let the easiness of earlier regroup and reaccumulate in her brain. She lets her head fall back to rest on the back of her chair, attempting a quick form of meditation as best as she can with the liveliness of the place around her. Regulating her thoughts and feelings into a semi-organized mass to be revoked and valued later. When she has both the brain and energy to do so. For now, she waits.

Dean Winchester - Killing Boys
“Since he died..” Dean starts hesitantly, “I’ve been having nightmares, as you heard. But also these.. these kinds of flashes and memories coming back. Stuff I had no idea about but stuff which fucked me up, you know?” The words are still getting stuck in his throat and he has to force them out to keep going. “It’s not just some daddy issues about growing up hunting and seeking revenge, and learning how to build a gun before you know how to count. There’s.. more. And Sam can’t get it. And it’s okay, I’m not gonna tell him - who knows if he’ll even believe me. But there’s a distance between us now. I want a distance to be there. Because I can’t keep up, I can’t breathe if he’s too close to me.” “So you’re hunting… him ?” “Yeh.” “To breathe?” “To be free.”

TO THE GARDENS OF LOVE
she tells me: our deadbeat fathers - gods or lucifers when they thread their so-called destiny made us creatures of greed and feathers - not worth mortality
she learned poetry from trees and beating hearts a fruit from a soil which would nurture nothing in Heaven alas, she sighs, a few allegories never killed anyone let alone an angel
it's a tragedy alike those of the Greeks we only move and forget, never forgive and repeat one can not be alive in the infinite
I tell her: devoted hustlers - gods or reapers crushed me into black ashes one could only hold through a stolen skin, a slough that would never stick
those roots that you crave, they threw me away with their trash from a soul to empty bones to cut on a rack seeds for an Eden of apathy labeled some demon witch something - never someone
it's a romance, don't your Greeks have these? we may live and forget, I won't pack any regret I've only been alive with you to cherish
I plead: can't you see? we're creatures of lust and fire! free from faithless submission!
what could Thanatos give that we can't create in the space between the stars and the salt of the seas flowing into your grace I found humanity and we got enough love to spend eternity

you don't understand the roadhouse episode is about dean starting to flirt with jo but it's not really succeeding not bc of being turned down but BC he's not feeling it, he can't keep faking. literally starts and can't go through. he's tired. and yeh it could be simple legit "he's not feeling it bc he's grieving" BUT THEN you have Ash.
it's an episode about dean not wanting, turning down, a woman. all while actually flirting with a man. his dad is dead and his posture is falling down. he's going for it he digs the haircut. they drink from the same bottle.
it's about dean rejecting jo and his comphet and embracing openly/in front of sam his homosexuality in this essay i will-
