Miranda continuously goes on about how MC came back wrong or how MC isn't quite themself yet, but as the Player of this game, I literally cannot see the difference between MCs between routes. They're always that same loveable idiot. They're always so comfortable and stable in who they are: a Huge Sap around women, and a wonderful and strong person who will stick up for themself and their friends the moment they feel like someone is being a dick.

In fact, the only moment I can recall when MC does act out of character is when they tell Miranda not to take a step farther, because she will get glass in her shoe. And this happens in ALL of the Miranda routes.

And yet Miranda is still insistent that MC continues to come back wrong, even when they choose her. Even when, knowing that she is horrible, knowing that she is cruel, they are so deeply in love with her.

That, for me, is the true horror of the game. Not the monsters and murder. Not the cult or the secrets your loved ones kept. It's Miranda's love for MC becoming so warped, that she can no longer ever recognize them. And it's her inability to distinguish between her disgust for MC coming back 'wrong', and MC not doing what she wants them to do at any given time.

Miranda can't bring herself to deviate from recipe measurements when cooking.

Because of this, her and MC's Filipino ass cannot work together in a kitchen to save their lives.

As Filipino cooking is literally eyeballing all of the ingredients.

Cornelius "Walks" MC to their classes since for the sake of Professionalism, Miranda cannot.

He tails them, flying just far enough behind and waiting for them to leave the building before following them to the next one.

Miranda holds MC's bag for them whenever they go out.

You're left flabbergasted when the weight on an arm suddenly disappears, you look to your side to find that Miranda has it in her hands instead.

She immediately moves it out of your reach when you try to take it back, her chin held high with a scowl on her lips.

"I will not have you tiring yourself out for needless reasons."

"It's not that heavy! Don't worry about it, besides I'm used to carrying my things around anyways!"

"It's heavy because I say it's heavy."

The two of you stop on the sidewalk, Miranda stares you down with a raised eyebrow as if challenging you to try and argue with her when her mind is made up.

"... I'm not winning this, am I?"

Miranda only smirks at you before continuing back down on the path.

In a world of boys, Miranda's a classy gentleman.

At some point during their time spent working together, she started to bring in packed lunches that are already on her's and MC's respective tables when they come in with the coffee.

MC once asked Miranda why she orders nothing when she leaves the office with them for lunch.

All it took was telling her that they'd appreciate it if she ate meals with them

Miranda had started eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner with them after that day. Regardless of the fact that she doesn't need food like she once did in her mortal life.

The food on their tables never show up twice unless MC asks for a specific dish to be repeated.

The jewelry she gets MC always has some sort of ode to their past lives' promises to one another.

Miranda knows that they may never remember everything.

But she remembers, and that's somewhat enough for her.

Although she cannot deny the subtle irritation the rises within her whenever she inquiries about a certain moment shared together. Only for confused eyes to meet hers.

ive talked about it before and im repeating myself really, but once again thoughts of miranda hating the MC are rotating in my mind… she’s in love, so desperate for it to be reciprocated because it’s all she has (miranda, apathetic and cruel, lives on hope alone. haha!) and every reset— every lifetime she lives without her love by her side is making her nastier. angrier. messier. she loves a version of them that will never exist again and as time passes she starts to hate every version that isnt hers. she loves them, she loves them, she hates them, killing them gets easier every fucking time.

i mean, it’s a “two sides of the same coin” situation where she loves them so much she defies the laws of nature to keep their soul tied to hers, yet she cant help but despise them for not being her first love no matter how close she comes to her goal. good ending MC where they glance at her quizzically when she says something in reference to a moment in the past that they should remember and her eye twitches, briefly irked.

there’s absolutely no way miranda doesn’t know or understand that her soulmate is gone. reincarnation isn’t cloning, people, time periods, environments in general shape a person— she’ll never have the happy ending she desperately needs and there’s just no way, to me, that this fact doesnt breed some sort of resentment towards them. i love it when she loses because i get to write her losing her mind☺️
