Because certain people are flipping their shit about the FNDM acknowledging Monty Oum's "All good romance is earned" tweet and how it came after "Burning the Candle", I remembered another thing Monty Oum once said—this time, from a RWBY aftershow, in response to a question about whether there would be queer/LGBT characters in RWBY:
Sure! Absolutely! The best part about that is, maybe they’re there now because they’re kids. We’re on a path where we try to help them discover themselves, so I don’t think we even need to make that decision right away, because as we write these characters we learn more about them and help them figure themselves out, that’s very real to us. So, you know, we’re definitely not opposed to it, a lot of us are for it even, I have some cast members and even crew members who are like ‘This would be really cool!’, but the thing is, we can’t just shove it out there. It has to be earned, which is the better way to do it, and a lot of these characters, we try to look at them outside of their genders, so we just want to do what’s natural for them at best.
Oh, they've earned it, Monty.

hbomberguy has done irreparable fucking damage to RWBY. I really, really try to be better than the ‘critics’ and not hate on individual people, but when someone deliberately attempts to destroy the fanbase of a show out of spite, using blatantly, verifiably false and misleading information, and almost succeeds, I get a bit pissed.
That video is a major reason that the future of the show is uncertain, because one guy decided he didn’t like it.
Please, don’t believe everything you see on the internet, and give RWBY a chance.

Y'know, it feels almost poetic that RWBY, which started on my birthday, during the very first year of a more than decade-long trauma-cycling life, ends as my life has been stable for the first time.

I wanna ask, what’s some problematic or discriminatory things you find in rwby? Because I want to make sure I’m not the only one who feels this about some stuff in rwby

RWBY Critics are NOT victims of bigotry, but they act like they are to gain attention and sympathy.
As you know, the RWBY Critics LOVE to portray themselves as victims of a fandom for “speaking the truth” and “being discriminated against” while promoting negativity and hate against the show and its writers.
But they are just milking it now.
Tumblr media
I can’t even. We’re bigots now? What?
Tumblr media
R/RWBYCritics complains about a female bisexual VA in no less than 5 different posts, you defend the military complex in no less than 25, you defend a cis white male antagonist who is an abuser and a murderer...and I’m not going to get into your obsession with promoting Blacksun, a straight ship involving Sun who stalks Blake, over Bumbleby, which is two girls.
Korrasami and Bumbleby both have the blackhaired woman leaving the dude for an upgrade.
Tumblr media
But..what?...This is why you people call Bumbleby fanservice?
LGBTQI+ relationships are NOT a fetish.
Tumblr media
If you’re referring to the QrowxBlake shipper who faked their death to accuse the fandom of being toxic and yet the videos claiming they committed suicide are still up?
Tumblr media
So no matter what CRWBY does...its bad?
Tumblr media
I assume because people are always defending and worshipping the male characters as “victims” that critics feel this way?
Tumblr media
Yes, I think RWBY can and should improve. But I’m not going to spam R/RWBY and Youtube with videos screaming “bad writing” “pandering” “toxic fandom” and the like.
We watch a show to enjoy it, not to pick it to pieces and claim how you are “superior writers” when all you do is promote men over women, mansplain team RWBY, and try to shove “moral grayness” or straight ships down people’s throats.
“Fixing RWBY” is NOT saying “I think RWBY should improve” its basically “I want RWBY to be in the anime stereotype image that I want”.
Tumblr media
Just...you take this way out of context.
Tumblr media
We ask that you let us enjoy RWBY....you twist our words around and throw it back at us demanding that we let you complain regularly about a show that was made for fun!
Tumblr media
I pity you.....Criticism used to be about love.
RWBY Critics have not shown any love....between insulting the writers, claiming the show or the company is dying, insulting the animation, saying “rwby bad or rwby sucks” or making video after video of “stupid female main character this or that” ?
That is not criticism. That is not wanting a show to improve. That is not criticizing from a place of love.
That is appropriating a cause/concept for the sake of lashing out/spiting others.
Which interestingly is adam taurus’ theme....appropriate a cause to cause harm, and make yourself seem like the victim whenever people defend themselves or lash out against you.
I joined the fandom in Volume 5...and guess what?  I loved seeing women able to defend themselves against creeps in a gas station. I loved seeing girls be able to win fights against men.  I loved seeing Female protagonists while the men were deuteragonists. A female main antagonist who was not sexualized into wearing revealing clothing, none of the female cast were. The male deuteragonist ability was a support-type instead of a main ability. There were so many things I loved about volume 5. But all I see is post after post and video after video complaining about RWBY, and saying how you people are making a “love letter to Monty” with your criticism.
Guess what Monty said about you people?
Tumblr media
Monty asked his friends to help him write the show that was built on a napkin.
Monty Oum himself told critics like you to stop watching the show if you were going to complain like that.
But its not like you’ll listen to a word Monty said while he was alive.
Tumblr media
This isn’t even funny....This is downright rude and insulting.
Tumblr media
And this is what is commonly allowed in R/RWBYCritics....The amount of Anti-Robyn Hill posts is ...scary to say the least.
Now this is going to be my last post for now calling out the sheer lunacy of this toxic negativity being spread against RWBY, CRWBY and the fandom.
I’m going to focus on delivering something positive for this fandom.
Because if you’re gonna call yourself a RWBY Fan? That means enjoying the show, not enjoying picking the show apart for something to whine about.
Good Night. And God Bless.

A person said something about RWBY Critics, and I wanted your feedback.
"The fans don’t know what they want, they know what they think they want. And what they think they want would be hot garbage if actually put into production, so the writers will stick with their years of experience and original ideas for the show instead of trying to cater to fans in an inevitably doomed way.”
What are your thoughts on this?
i think this is the correct mindset for the writers to have.
look at the lotr fantasy chaff that's come out since tolkien's masterpiece. they focused on the wrong things, emphasized the wrong hero archetype, and then scratch their heads at how come they are not as successful as the lord of the rings.
if the fans think they have something of worth to tell, they'd make a show, they'd have the passion to turn their nugget of an idea inspired by a supposedly inferior inspiration and make a killing with their creative, better story than rwby. there would be a product out that would be competing with rwby's fantasy ip.
so where is it? where's the show? this better story has no legs, and the 'fan/critic' with a better, brighter idea would invest in the idea to the point where they'd start a competing product.
look, even if they have an idea that is better, they don't have the passion to pitch it and make it reality.
i agree with the statement that fans think they want something to happen and the writers should keep giving us their own original ideas. cause i have ideas about where the show should go, i'm just curious if i'm right or if the creators have another better idea about it.
whether or not i'm right, i'm just here for the ride. be not attached to your own ideas.

Vexed Viewer is NOT a RWBY Fan
Part of my arguments with RWBYTubers started when one of the haters who calls themself a “fan who criticizes rwby from a place of love” that Calxiyn passionately defends.

Does stuff like this.
Seriously, Vexed! What the hell is with your hatred of RWBY, CRWBY, and everything Roosterteeth related?
Tumblr media
For God’s sake, you even hate on the #metoo movement?

So the final episode of Fixing RWBY Volume 6 is nearly an hour long, so here are the "high"lights of this shitfest:
There are mermaid Grimm. Yes, they are flat-out called "mermaids". The best part is that Celtic Phoenix could have easily called them "sirens" to give the same impression, but that wouldn't be stupid enough for this series.
Cordovin decides immediately to bail on Argus, because running away is apparently the only thing the Atlas military is good at. Ruby gives a speech which the rest of the military ends up hearing. Then Cordovin just sorta flakes off.
And of course Celtic Phoenix still tries to make mass-murdering piece of shit Adam Taurus look sympathetic, with all kinds of stupid flashbacks and bullshit. Weiss even apologizes to him, after he's killed numerous people and tried to kill her and her friends. Oh, and no, Blake and Yang don't finish him off together. Ruby just shoots him. Blake takes his weapons after he dies. And there is a bizarre fixation on Adam destroying Yang's prosthetic arm, because edgy bullshit.
Oh, and despite ripping off Volume 9 for an edgy-bullshit drawback to the Silver Eyes, Ruby never uses the Silver Eyes at all. Instead, the Atlas military just comes back to save the day. Right up until the end, the female protagonists are stripped of their canonical feats because Celtic Phoenix would rather have a bunch of faceless soldiers be the real heroes instead of women.
Because we were all so concerned about him, Cardin's team finds Russell safe and sound! Yeah.
Maria doesn't come along to Atlas with them, because you know, can't have someone who's both a.) not white and b.) not male taking away valuable screentime from useless fuckers like Cardin.
I'll probably summarize the whole shitshow in a proper review of sorts, but yeah, this entire thing is a trainwreck where the conductor is anthropomorphized white male fragility.

“Fixing” RWBY is a disgrace to the show, the creators, and the fans. Yes, the show has issues, as does every piece of media ever, but the so-called fixes consist of making the female characters useless and subservient, adding unnecessary “fan”service elements, turning Roman into a shitty self-insert. Stuff like this is why the fandom and the show as a whole get a bad rap, and won’t get the appreciation and wider attention that it actually deserves.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Rwby Volume 9 ep 2:
Well I just saw ep 2 of volume 9 and I must say the animation is very good and even cartoonish in a good way and the measurement between comedy and seriousness is good and correct at the right moments and weiss being the best character in the ep so what I must have said my rating for this episode is an 8.5/10 and it was cute the mention of penny and weiss remembering jaune and winter thought they passing (Badly knowing about jaune) now what am i going to say is kinda meme cuz im a white knight shipper but it's nice to know that weiss cares about jaune and hopes he passed through the portal with winter.

What bothers me about Bmb/lb rep is that Rooster Teeth isn’t confined by normal media board-member stranglehold. It’s not Disney canceling Owl House because anti-queer organizations and parents don’t like it being on air. It’s not Cartoon Network slashing another season of Steven Universe for having the Ruby/Sapphire wedding. It’s not Legend of Korra only having explicit queer rep in the last like, 5 seconds of the final episode of the series because otherwise the show couldn’t continue.
Rooster Teeth has its own board that approves what goes through and what doesn’t. It doesn’t have to be this tip-toe song and dance that bypasses censorship. It doesn’t have to be tongue and cheek, but that’s exactly what RT does! This will-they-won’t-they doesn’t need to be here! It could’ve come to a conclusion in Season 6, and then explored their relationship dynamics when faced with new problems.
This charade is tiring, and RWBY deserves to have queer rep more than a side couple of a main character for one season show up.
